Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Main Square of Huaraz, also known as Plaza de Armas, is a charming public space adorned with topiary and a central fountain. Visitors can immerse themselves in the vibrant local culture by exploring bustling markets offering handmade textiles and traditional crafts while savoring local cuisine. The square provides opportunities to take pictures with alpacas or llamas and gather information about tours.
This plaza is a great place to come and be around (and watch) people while you are in Huaraz! The backdrop of the park is a great place for taking photos to remember your visit. There is a lot of attention paid to maintaining the green spaces and there are people watching to make sure that visitors don't cross fences and step on the plants. For the month and a half that we stayed in Huaraz, there were so many events going on that I can bet you'll catch something while you're there, especially if you come on the weekend.

Very vibrant and full of life, beautiful plaza. As with a lot of places around the world, be vigilant about pickpocketing and robbers, we had one man follow us from mamma mia cafe to the plaza and sit right next to my friend on his phone (extremely confident) i wanted to say something but my friend advised me to not to and she is a local from lima
Corey E — Google review
Great place to chill and people watch. Very clean with a fountain and plenty of trash cans.
Tai Z — Google review
Bautiful plaza de Armas with the usual church, fontain and mamy opportunities ro sit down and watch the surroundings. There is always something happening, like a parade, people singing, dancing, street vendors. Most of the time you can get drinks, ice cream, popcorn or other sorts of food.
Lilia K — Google review
"The Plaza de Armas in Huaraz is such a charming spot! It’s surrounded by colorful gardens, tall palm trees, and has amazing views of the snow-capped mountains in the distance. Locals gather here to relax, chat, and enjoy the sunshine, and there’s always something going on – from street vendors selling snacks to musicians playing traditional tunes. It’s the perfect place to sit on a bench, people-watch, and soak up the atmosphere before heading to explore the nearby cafes and shops
Matthew C — Google review
The square was very busy due to carnival festivities. The music was lovely and the kids bands were bright and cheerful. I will return for a slower day soon. The grounds are well maintained and pretty.
Fred R — Google review
It is a nice park to visit when the sun is out. You can also walk from here to the oldest barrio in the city. There were major earthquakes in the 40s and 70s that leveled the town. Only a small area survived. It is close to the anthropological museum as well.

Beautiful Plaza de Armas. Waterfall, flowers, seats surrounded by local artisan crafts, banks etc

Specialty Museums
The Regional Museum of Ancash, situated in Avenida Luzuriaga N 762, showcases a diverse collection of artifacts from various ancient cultures that inhabited the region. Visitors can explore stone sculptures, mummies, and skulls dating back to different periods such as the Recuay culture and the Wari culture. The museum boasts the largest lithic park in America featuring 128 stone monoliths representing warriors, priests, musicians, and more from the Recuay culture.
Small museum but with a great range of artefacts and lots of interesting things. The garden is super tranquil with lots of shade to sit, relax and reflect on the history on display here.
Tom M — Google review
The museum is nice, but not information in English. Additionally, the lady in the ticket desk is very rude.
Hugo M — Google review
It's a nice little museum with some very interesting pieces shown. in the outside-area there is a garden with sculptures and many benches to hangout. the price was 7 Soles for adults of any nation. one thing i can not understand is: why the descriptions are only in spanish. on the walls there is a lot of space to put the texts in english too. it would be a great upgrade for many tourists visiting Huaraz and the museum.
Neontaifun — Google review
Had nothing to do during the rain and it was a nice past time. Main exhibition about pre-Hispanic cultures in Peru. With artefacts in and outside. Small contemporary exhibition looked as half was forgotten to put on the walls.🤔. Only one small English text.

A pretty small and cute museum (3 floors) with a beautiful garden outside and a cheap price of 7 soles

No English subtitles on items. The park in back is really nice and chill. See pics for hours and cost. Good alternative if you dont have the day to make it to Chavin de Hauntar as they have a good display of the items from that area.

Trivio Resto Bar

Restaurant
Trivio Resto Bar, located at Av. Luzuriaga 422 in Huaraz, is a popular spot known for offering the best Peruvian food in town. It's highly recommended for its excellent cuisine and is particularly popular among climbers seeking to refuel after their adventures. The daily menu features a variety of options including Italian, Mexican, Indian, and fusion dishes.
This restaurant feels like it is targeted to America travelers, but it still retains some local flavor. It is a leisurely place to enjoy a meal, beer, and a coffee. The food is locally sourced, and the table water is filtered to reduce the plastic waste of travelers ordering bottled water. Some reviews say the service is slow. I disagree. It is appropriately paced for South America. If you are expecting service and amenities like in the US, then stay in the US when you travel.
Geordie E — Google review
Great local beers (you can also find at Novaplaza) Breakfast is definitely better than their dinner. Ground beef wasn’t very flavourful but had lots of rice and a sauce. Breakfast omelette was packed with veggies. Highly recommend omelette breakfast. Skip the tamale, literally a tiny piece of chicken hidden in crumbly bread. On the pricier side in Huaraz, popular place for foreigners/hikers.
Tai Z — Google review
I eat a meat burger, it was really good but it was lacking on other ingredients, the meat itself was great. I just didn't like the music choice, i don't expect to travel to the Andean mountain and listen western American music. Either way, great place to eat

Good meal. I took the fish based on the waiter recommendation, and also had a cocktail
Ofir M — Google review
The food was okay, nothing too special. It tasted fine but didn’t really stand out. Could be better.

I loved that this restaurant has several distinct areas, each with its own unique atmosphere: a sunny, lively terrace; a quieter, more private section on the second floor; and an even more secluded spot at the back of the second floor where you can comfortably work after lunch. The food was good, the coffee was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable — the quality of the food easily exceeded what you’d expect for the price. I definitely recommend visiting this place. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating.
Veronica — Google review
A absolute must if you’re in Huaraz. So many meals here at all times of the day and was exceptional. Cant say how many times we were there but can say we nearly ate the whole menu and everything was super delicious.
Josh — Google review
A restaurant with a great vibe, great service and great music! We shared a fresh salad which was nice. The burger was excellent. An excellent place for chicken soup and another soup - Stew with quinoa. Prices are quite expensive but worth coming. They serve drinkable water straight to the table which is nice! Recommends.

Mercado Central de Huaraz is a bustling and colorful market that offers a local taste and experience, making it a must-visit for those seeking an authentic glimpse into the local gastronomy and culture. Located in central Huaraz, Peru, this market is the go-to destination for fresh vegetables, staples for cooking, and everything needed for a hike or adventure. From bread and cereal bars to dried fruits and nuts sold by weight, Mercado Central has it all.
A wonderful spot for locally sourced produce and community interaction. This is the perfect spot to discover fresh local fruits, vegetables, beans, lentils, and dried fruits while mingling with the locals. We made it a daily routine to visit this place for our produce needs. I needed a waterproof jacket for our 8-day Huayhuash trek, I was initially skeptical when a lady offered me one, but she proved its waterproof quality by dousing it with a bucket of water. To my amazement, the jacket remained completely dry. I purchased it and stayed the driest person throughout our hike! You can find everything you need in this market!

No matter if you are meat eater or vegan, you will find everything you need here. It is especially important after visiting local restaurants. Eat only good food!
Val P — Google review
Probably the worst market I've ever visited. There is minimal food hygiene here. The fish and meat is just dotted around everywhere and not in its own section. The place stinks, there is blood and guts all over the floor, rotting fruit and veg. It's disgusting and put me off eating in the restaurants, due to the way the meat was stored here.
Martyn K — Google review
Lots to see, smell, consume, and purchase. Get ya trousers fixed, buy toys, fruit etc. Has toilets. Need 50cent coin. There is an attendant
Jules K — Google review
The place too grey everything in Huarez plenty of chose between the different stall holders.

An definitely must try in Huaraz. Travel thematic with an awesome curry smell. What better way to get into the mood to explore the mountains? Indian, Thai and Mexican cuisine. Very tasty 😋

Fantastic little place with a simple but beautifull curry & Mexican menu. A weird combo.. I agree but both tasted fantastic and helped us on the climb to Laguna 69! They are also very knowledgeable about gluten or diary diets and after having eaten here twice we had 0 issues! A simple but delicious little gem in Huaraz!

This. Was. Awesome. They have 3 cuisines: Mexican, Indian and Thai. We had mexican and thai. Portions were huge and I mean huge, and the taste was so exquisite. A lot of veggies too which we really needed. Prices are about average but definitely fair. I could eat here all days I’m in Huaraz so definitely give this one a try!

Awesome Thai curries (yellow, green, red) with choice of protein (tofu, chicken, beef, shrimp). Awesome Mexican fajitas. Nice selection of shakes and alcoholic drinks. Good location. Excellent service. Very clean restaurant.

Vegan dishes available! The food was simply great! We had the Thai green chilly and the Indian curry, both full of flavour, vegetables and tofu. I certainly recommend it. The prices were a bit high compared to other restaurants in Peru. We spent almost a hundred soles for just 2 main dishes and a lemonade.

RESTO BAR ENCUENTRO DE LOS ANDES is a popular dining spot in Huaraz, Peru. Located in the downtown area, it offers an upscale approach to Peruvian cuisine with a Continental flair. The restaurant is known for its delicious Peruvian and Cajun & Creole dishes. In addition to its delectable food, the restaurant provides a vibrant atmosphere that attracts both locals and tourists.
We both really enjoyed our visit to this restaurant. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel very welcome with their kind and attentive service. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, which added to the overall pleasant experience. We started with fresh papaya juice, which was incredibly tasty—refreshing, naturally sweet, and full of flavor. For our main courses, we tried both the fish and the beef dishes. The fish was perfectly cooked, tender and well-seasoned, while the beef was juicy and rich in flavor. Overall, it was a lovely dining experience and one we’d happily recommend.
Aneta — Google review
We recently visited this restaurant and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. Despite ordering a soup as a starter, it was brought out with the main dish which got cold indeed. The service was also lacking and did not meet our expectations. As a result, we left feeling dissatisfied and would not consider returning in the future. While the food itself was decent, the overall experience was negatively affected by the poor service.
Aleš H — Google review
Absolutely horrible, do not go here!! We sat down, ordered a beer and got a menu. After 30 minutes nobody had come to take the order or seemed even interested while the place was almost empty (and we were really hungry!). We decided to leave and left the exact pay for the beers according to the menu. Then the waitress came out after us on the street to say we didnt pay enough, when actually we did. We showed the prices for the beers that were stated on the menu and she let us go. I cannot believe they only paid us attention after we left and they accused us of not paying enough! You might want to give your customers some better attention than this!

I had a great experience at this restaurant! The location is beautiful, right in front of the plaza :) I highly recommend trying the strawberry frozen, it’s delicious and the fettuccini with lomo was also amazing!!! Definitely a place worth visiting 👌🏼

The food is good and the view is nice but the staff not so nice. I went there twice and the first time everything was great but the second time the staff was not helpful and seemed as if they were doing me a favor for serving me, even though the place was almost empty

He charge us 5 extra soles for a bit of cream on the top of hot chocolate. (Cost 8 soles +5. Amost twice price!) i see it very unfair and abuse "gringos" . More that didnt mention it before

California Café is a popular spot known for its all-day breakfast options and freshly roasted coffee. The café, run by a friendly Californian, offers a cozy atmosphere with comfortable seating, free Wi-Fi, and an extensive collection of English books and board games. It's a great place to meet fellow travelers while enjoying the delicious fusion of American and Peruvian cuisine.
I am an English man and have been travelling for 10 months. I stumbled across this gem accidentally and to my surprise, they served a full English breakfast. I was absolutely astounded. In all the excitement I didn’t hesitate to order. Once it arrived, I was not disappointed and after being deprived of this glorious meal for almost a year, I enjoyed every bite. I would recommend to anyone. It even came with English tea with toast and jam, which was absolutely perfect. After being in Huaraz for 8 days, my only regret is that I stumbled upon this fine establishment late in my visit…however I managed to fit in two visits.

Loved our visit to this vibey cafe. Great place to meet fellow travelers. The owner Tim was so helpful with local tips and places to go/not go/hike. The hangover meal was perfect for post night bus needs. The mango juice was also great. They had a massive selection of books you could borrow or rent & Nat Geo magazines. Really lovely place - would highly recommend

Summary: Excellent coffee, artisanal bread, amazing desserts, and a wide variety of food. The atmosphere is super pleasant — perfect for studying, working, or hanging out with friends. I love that this place offers such a great mix of food, drinks, and coffee. The vibe is just right — everyone respects the noise level, which makes it easy to focus or relax. You can work, study, read a book, or chat with friends at a reasonable volume while enjoying your coffee in peace. The decor really adds to the cozy feel. There’s even a little library inside where you can grab a book and read while you sip your drink. Highly recommend this place!

A great place for breakfast. It's always warm, perfect for the cold winds in the morning. The variety is great; don't expect corn and cheese like more local cafes; it's more on the American style. The waffles and pancakes are yummy. I usually get breakfast 5 because it gives me the most to kick-start the day.

We came here a couple times. It's a long wait before you get your food but everything we've gotten here has been delicious. The coffee is really good. If you find yourself wandering the charming streets near the plaza, make sure to stop by Luigi's Pizza, a cozy little spot that promises a delightful pizza experience. Known for its soft thin crust, this eatery serves up some of the finest pies in town. While service can be on the slower side—especially during busy hours—the wait is well worth it for their delicious offerings.
What can we say... we visited Luigi’s our first night in Huaraz, craved the pizza so much during the Santa Cruz Trek, that we excitedly came back for another slice.. or five!! Best pizza in town. You do not want to miss. Visit on Tuesday or Wednesday for a special deal.
Steven F — Google review
Pretty good pizza, not super cheap but not bad (it’ll end up being like $10-12 for a pizza), but it was pretty good. They’re not super fast, plan on it taking at least an hour, but if you have some time to spend it’s a good choice.
Samuel P — Google review
This pizza is exceptional. The crust delivered as much as anyone could ask for: crisp with a chewy center. Definitely the best pizza I’ve had in 5+ weeks in Peru, and absolutely better than a majority of pizzas I’ve had in Chicago and elsewhere in the US. I will return. If you have the slightest inclination for pizza in Huaraz, make sure it’s Luigi’s!
Cole F — Google review
Very reasonably priced pizza and they have great combo deals which work out brilliantly. We ended up being able to barter the deals into different flavour pizza's and despite the deal being to take away, the restaurant was incredibly flexible with us. The pizza itself was really delicious! The garlic bread was a little hit and miss but overall, a great meal.
Maddog ( — Google review
We shared a large meatlover pizza. There was an offer for 40 soles, including the pizza and some garlic bread. The food itself was good, but we had to wait nearly one hour to get it. Also, the garlic bread was not served before... If you go there, make sure you have to wait for some time, or go early / late. The place itself is really small and if it gets crowded, the staff can't hurry up, because the kitchen is very small too.
Patrick H — Google review
Oozing cheese and crisp bubbling beautiful thin dough base. Best pizza I have had in Peru! It was so good I didn't even want to pick up my phone to take a photo, so lost in the deliciousness was I!

Best pizza I’ve had in Peru. They actually know how to make the dough and also put sufficient tomato sauce on the pizza (unlike most spots which have very little)! Go here! Follow the pizza sign.

The restaurant is spacious with many places to sit. The food is ok, if you don’t know exactly what is best, it can be so so. The menu, what a chore, they only have it on a phone and it’s a pain for them to get it to you. Why not have a paper menu for how nice the place is????

If you call your restaurant, we really expect large variety of cuy dishes and/or exceptional quality of cuy dishes. We ordered three varieties, and we felt they were just fried with different sauces. Don't order Naranjada, it's just water with some orange scents...the place is very good and has so many areas to go around, the bar looks nice too. Will not come back for food, maybe for drinks or coffee

There was the first time I went to this place I think overall is kind of old and kind of beautiful there were a lot of space to sit down and to pray for a little bit it was a quiet place there were people who were praying to just stay in there overall it was a good experience and yeah I will recommend if you want to see that kind of stuff in the city

Transportation service
Cruz del Sur is a popular bus company that offers services between Lima and Huaraz, with tickets priced between $20-35 USD. While some passengers find the check-in process to be challenging, others praise the cleanliness of the buses and the professionalism of the staff. However, there are mixed reviews regarding late-night safety and restroom cleanliness. Overall, Cruz del Sur is known for providing a serious and safe travel experience.
Trustworthy bus operator in Peru. Night buses are comfortable. 160° and 180° are recommende options if you want to sleep.

Amazing and comfortable buses. We had bus from Lima to Huaraz and back and everything was perfect. Very comfortable seats. I recommend traveling in the night, because you can sleep comfortably and have your days full of adventures!
Николай А — Google review
Bus arrived 2 hours late because the driver couldn't drive, all other buses were bypassing us. At the end we lost another 20 minutes as the driver couldn't find his own terminal and was lost in the small streets nearby. The terminal is far away from the center compared to all other companies. On arrival you will be swarmed by greedy taxi vultures who will ask 4x the fair price. I had to walk a couple of streets away to get a normal deal.
Petr V — Google review
Nice terminal and service. Buses leave on time. It’s definitely the best bus company of the country.

First time we arrived more than 2 hours later to destination then promised. The driver stoped at random places, stand there 20 Min, but we were not allowed to leave the bus. The buses are comfortable. The toilet is ok.

Took the night bus from Lima to Huaraz, and back from Huaraz to Lima. Great bus, super comfortable, leaves on time (arrival time probably depends on road conditions - we were early back to Lima but almost 2 hours late getting to Huaraz). The bus back had wifi too which I wasn't expecting! The bus station is okay, doesn't have wifi unfortunately.

Everything regarding the “shitty” road up to here has been set, but the two sites are quite interesting and an important element to understand pre-Inca history in the Huaraz region. Distance between the two sites is 10 min and the staff is friendly and supportive. From the second site you can walk down to Huaraz along small water canals…beware the strolling dogs though

Recreo Campestre "El Auki" is a warm and spacious restaurant that offers a wide range of dishes, including guinea pig, rabbit, pachamanca, and pork rinds. (Translated by Google) Bad experience. We arrived with my family at approximately 10:15 am. We ordered rice with duck (2 dishes, bad decision), poor steak, pachamanca 2 flavors, a chicken wrap and a tamale. I will describe the dishes from my point of view. Honestly the food was terrible, it had no seasoning, no taste. I will detail the dishes to be as honest as possible. The duck rice - the duck was tough and uncooked, the rice had a totally strange taste. Poor man's steak - a really simple dish but unfortunately his steak had been seasoned very coarsely and the meat was equally tough. Pachamanca 2 flavors - I guess it lacked cooking and integrating the flavors that didn't even make me want to eat it. The chicken wrap - it was actually a broaster, the only “passable” thing but it was not in keeping with a chicken wrap that was ordered. TAMAL - THE ONLY RESCUABLE THING. Now with everything we ordered we obviously didn't eat it due to the bad experience and bad taste, apart from that it took them an hour and a half to bring us all the dishes. We left at approximately 12 pm with a bill of 208 soles (they took a dish off our bill since we complained). I really hope they take this opinion to improve because price-quality leaves a lot to be desired. I attach plates. (Original) Mala experiencia. Adjunto platos.

Nestled in the heart of Huaraz, La Casita del Mago offers a truly enchanting dining experience that stands out among the many culinary options in this vibrant city. This charming restaurant, located on the second floor with an inviting atmosphere reminiscent of Alpine aesthetics, serves a delightful blend of Peruvian and international cuisine. Guests rave about its beautifully personal touch and flavorful dishes, making it a must-visit spot for anyone exploring Huaraz.
This restaurant is truly a fantastic destination you shouldn't miss. The owner is Spanish, and he has created a cozy and friendly atmosphere. When we happened to walk by and stepped in, he welcomed us with rare enthusiasm. What's special here is that he takes on many different roles himself. From wearing the chef's jacket, taking customers' orders, to going into the kitchen to personally prepare the dishes. Once the food is ready, he not only serves it but also surprises everyone by picking up the microphone and singing. His voice is truly amazing. This is a place where you'll have a unique culinary experience. The food and drinks here are not too expensive, but the quality is really impressive. Especially, the Spanish wine here is very delicious and will surely satisfy wine lovers. If you have the chance, visit this restaurant to enjoy the delightful moments and wonderful cuisine.

The menu features delicious handmade pasta with various delectable sauces, woodfired pizzas, and classic Peruvian dishes like lomo saltado. The restaurant also serves international dishes and boasts one of the best views of the Cordillera Blanca from its location on Plaza de Armas in downtown Huaraz.
Very good food and generous portions! We had the grilled mushrooms, special garlic bread, pesto gnocchi and salmon ravioli which were all very tasty. Initially they forgot to put through the salmon order so it took a while to bring that out.

I visited Manka three times during my stay in Huaraz as the food is really delicious and the service is good. Overall I would say my visits for dinner were better as you are served a complimentary hot garlic bread role and the quality of the food was better. When I visited for lunch my pasta was lukewarm at best. I would highly recommend the lasagne and the carne ravioli The WiFi is fast!

Let me tell you the foods amazing, they didn't take that long and they make their own fresh pasta I should have ordered fresh pasta but I don't know why I ordered lasagna, my dad ordered lomo saltado and he loved it, and then after that, my cousin god the salad, it was amazing, my auntie and unc had the anticuchos, they where good, but nobody had the pasta, for some odd reason! Anyways, dessert was good, the portion very good, and the bread with olive oil and a little of pomadoro was so so good ! It was worth our time and effort, the servers seemed a little bit angry I tipped them 15% because the first one seemed pissed and the second one was in a better mood, but still, oh and they have Enemigo wine by the bottle, very very good, nothing better to have while you in Huaraz the good so hot for such a cold place ! No much parking, you have to park in the taita, or somewhere near, but like I say again, the food 10/10 very very good, but there is a better place.

Paulino's Indian Cuisine is a restaurant in Huaraz that specializes in authentic Indian and Asian food. It caters to vegetarians and offers vegan and gluten-free options. The restaurant provides various services for its customers, including takeout, reservations, comfortable seating, and full table service. Despite being located in a mountain town in Peru, it offers surprisingly decent Indian food that many visitors highly recommend.
Amazing Indian food, probably the best we've had in South America. You can't beat this menu del día - 18 soles for a curry, rice, chapati, and drink. The curries are loaded with flavour, the portions are massive, and there are so many vegan/vegetarian choices too. Highly recommend the appetisers as well, the pakoras and samosas are delicious.
Hannah S — Google review
I ordered the dal makhani on the menu del dia and veggie pakora. The pakora was very yummy and the right texture, so crunchy. The chapati and lemonade that comes with the menu del dia was good as well. The price was right and the portions were great for the menu del dia being 18 soles, but the dal was average tasting and could have been creamier. I would recommend if you’re looking for a place with a lot of vegetarian options. PS gave me stomach issues.
Emily — Google review
We live in London so are spoilt for choice for good Indian restaurants usually. We did not have high expectations for Indian food in Peru but we were very pleasantly surprised. The portions are generous. We reccomend the pakoras and chapatis. They were very good. We had three curries, one was good and the other two were not bad. All had a good level of spice, which we were pleased about because not much of the food in Huraz is spicy.

I was here once for dinner and you can share one portion of masala. It's so much! So tasty. Important for me too, the original taste! Today i was for lunch: Menu del dia (12-4pm) solo 18 sol! You can role out of the restaurant because it's a lot!

One of the best restaurants I've visited in South America. I went twice and had an incredible time both times. It's classy. The food is great and have local foods and fusion type foods. The cocktails are amazing. I went twice! Best quality restaurant in Huaraz that I've tried.

Had lunch here during my trip to Huaraz and it was such a great experience! The food was super fresh and full of flavor, especially the grilled trout – probably the best I’ve had in Peru. The staff were friendly and made me feel right at home, even helping me choose local dishes to try. The atmosphere is cozy, and you can tell they really care about what they serve. Definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic food and a warm vibe

Hands down, Ancestral gave me the best meal of my entire time in Peru. I tried cuy for the second time here and I will say it's absolute perfection. First time I tried cuy was in Cusco and my first impression wasn't that great. Thankfully, my friend brought me here and insisted that I try it again. And I'm so glad I did. It was flavorful, crispy and juicy. It's been over a month since I had it and I still dream about it. Another part worth mentioning are the cocktails. Their cocktail menu is very creative and so, so good! And I greatly appreciate how the bartender made a point to visit our table and explain her creative vision of some of her creations. Though I will say the wait for your cocktail is long but it's well worth the wait.

I ordered a steak and it was honestly the worst I’ve ever been served. Terrible cut, poorly cooked—like a child made it. I couldn’t even eat it and told the server right away. He did say “sorry,” but then told me if I wanted another one, I’d have to pay full price again. No attempt to fix the situation or make it right. I didn’t eat the steak at all and still had to pay for it. That tells you everything you need to know about this place. I wouldn’t come back if the food was free.

Went here for dinner with new friends from the hotel, and was positively surprised by our choice! Great food (some dishes have a little twist to the traditional Peruvian serving- which was nice to try for a change), and really friendly staff!

Fresh delicious meals at a great price. They serve a lot food so show up with an empty stomach or share. The service is excellent. Seating area is an indoor cozy patio. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed a nice hot meal here. Very large portions, so come hungry or share multiple things. Very nice covered patio to dine in. Staff was very nice, quick service when coming for early dinner service before 6pm. Enjoyed their salad with pineapple and pork, a side of fried local potatoes, and their Alfredo pasta with chicken. All tasted very fresh. Would definitely recommend if you want a good first place to eat at when visiting Huaraz to experience local flavors and cuisine.

Piscigranja de Truchas - Huaraz

4.0
(169)
Aquaculture farm
Piscigranja de Truchas in Huaraz offers a fascinating insight into the trout-hatching process, allowing visitors to witness the various stages from eggs to fully grown adults. It's a great place for family recreation, where children can even feed the fish and learn about different species categorized by size. However, some visitors have suggested that more information about the care of the trout and better maintenance of the ponds would enhance the experience.

Yesterday, my friend Claudia introduced me to the delightful Taita restaurant. I can honestly say that I had no regrets about trying their delectable cuisine. The service provided was friendly and the food itself was superbly prepared, leaving me completely satisfied. In addition to the gastronomic experience, the establishment is adorned with various pictures that provide insight into Huaraz's past. This made for a truly unique and immersive encounter.
Really cool non-touristy place close to plaza de armas in Huaraz. The plate is quite filling and I was surprised to finally see what we call tremoços in Portugal being eaten in another country. Good lemonade as well. Take the time to look around you and try to read the captions of the pictures; beautifully conserved local Huaracina history and stories.

This was the first restaurant I have ever been to that not only didn't know what gluten was, but even after explaining my allergies and mentioning wheat flour, the waiter ended up bringing me a full plate of fried stuff. It started with me showing them a picture of their ceviche which seemed to have a fried thing in there, for which I asked if they can do it without frying since I am allergic to glute, the waiter reassured me it’s not fried it’s chicharron, so I said in that case yes I want that. She then proceeds to bring out the most expensive plate on the menu (not ceviche) which was fried with wheat flour, she try to say no no it has no gluten, I asked them what did they fry it in and she did say flour, but she didn’t seem to care, she just left the table. Had to leave without eating other than the corn they gave before, in the end they even gave me back less money (2 soles) than it was together the most expensive meal (which I never ordered) and the drink. This was such a huge disappointment, they didn’t have such high ratings, but the atmosphere looked fine.

At Pizzeria Cafe: The Horno, guests can indulge in a delightful array of wood-fired pizzas that truly capture the essence of Italian cuisine. Many rave about the crispy crust and fresh toppings, with favorites like the Hawaiana featuring juicy pineapple and the Americana impressing diners. Beyond pizza, their Thai curry is packed with vibrant vegetables and a spicy kick that leaves a lasting impression.

Day 4

Keep it simple
For day 4, these 5 places should be enough to fill your day with something exciting to do in Huaraz. Start the day with Mirador de Rataquenua and make your way through the city to get to Cervecería Sierra Andina. This should take about 6 hours of your day.

Mirador de Rataquenua

4.3
(845)
Mirador de Rataquenua is a natural viewpoint located 7 km southeast of Huaraz, offering stunning panoramic views of the city and the surrounding valley. While some visitors recommend taking a taxi to reach the viewpoint, others have enjoyed hiking up from the city center. The hike is described as relatively easy, with opportunities to continue on to explore nearby canyons. However, there are mentions of challenging tracks due to construction work and encounters with unfriendly dogs along the way.
It's the best place to have a wonderful view of the city. You can see the white mountain range from up here, on a clear day. It's an easy hike that goes past the city cemetery. There's a restaurant bar right next to bathe cross and it should be nice at night. Unfortunately, I went in the morning so it was closed.

An ugly hike up the dirt road to a nice vive of Huaraz and an ok restaurant for a beer and snacks. Best if you continue the trail up to the mirador Pukaventana for a really good day hike. Put on a hat, sunscreen and bring plenty of water.
José V — Google review
The perfect spot to see the entire city of Huaraz. You can also admire the glaciers on the background. It is a beautiful place where your eyes can relax with the view! On the weekends, they have bike tournaments/races that anyone can participate in. If you take a taxi, make sure u also use the same one to return to the city or else you would have to walk down the mountain. Enjoy the views and the air! ✨️🏔 🗻 ⛰️

Such a lovely place. It is great for amateurs to have an initial mini hike on the day of arrival to Huaraz. It is short it walks you through the city, which is very interesting and it ends to a lovely view. There is also a cafeteria at the top for a small stop with food and drinks. Definitely recommend it as a starting point.
Ligeia Z — Google review
It’s a great viewpoint. However, the tracks to it are very difficult to follow (probably since there’s been some construction work around it), and also there are a lot of unfriendly dogs (and one of them tried to bite my friend). I’d recommend following the cars route in order to get to the viewpoint.

Tourist Bus to Hike Pitec/Churrup

3.7

Bus company
Embark on an adventure to the stunning Churup Lagoon with the Tourist Bus to Hike Pitec/Churrup. This popular destination, located 20 km east of Huaraz, offers breathtaking turquoise waters and views of the majestic Churup mountain. The tourist bus provides a convenient and reliable round trip for a reasonable price, making it easy to access this natural wonder.
Very easy and straight forward. Prepare to be flexible, the bus leaves when it's full. The bus will wait for you to finish the hike, do respect the given return time!
Reetta K — Google review
The collectivo to Pitec leaves when full. The cost is 10 soles one way, but you pay for the return straight away. Pick-up from a given address is possible (our hostel arranged pick-up for us).
Mariusz R — Google review
They pick you up from the street in a van, making it seem like you're ready to leave. Then all of a sudden you have to get out, go to an office, and pay the 20 soles fee per person. There we waited for an hour, before we actually left for pitec. Along the way there were more random stops, making the trip significantly longer than needed.
Marty H — Google review
As described by the company in one of the reviews. 30 soles Starts at 7am but leaves when bus is full (for me it was 7.20am Cost includes return Bus is waiting for you at the bottom. Return times are: 2pm - very punctual don't be the last one as bus fills up fast. 3pm ish - when full 4pm ish - when full Highly recommend getting the 2pm bus
Jamie — Google review
Beware of the scammer in the agency. Arrived 10:00 and was told it’s too late and there are no more people, asked to pay 160 sol. We refused and used Russian app Indriver instead for 40 sol. The scammer tried to lower price to 100 and then 80 while we waited for a taxi. On the way back you can get the same colectivo for 10 sol which departs hourly. The driver on the way back ensured they don’t do dynamic pricing and the price is fixed to 10 sol one way. If this happens to you just wait and pay only 10 or take indriver for 40
Yes S — Google review
A little more expensive than a collectivo but the return is planned. We took the ride at 9:00am so you don’t need to wake really early. There’s a ride back at 2pm - 3pm and 4:30pm. Churrup is really nice it’s not too hard but take the optional route up if you don’t want to climb really steep portion. Elevation definitely makes it harder.
Mathieu S — Google review
It was easy to find, effective and reliable. A bus is leaving every hour. At the trail, a bus departure at 2pm, 3pm, 4pm and the last one at 4:30pm. It was 40 sol for 2 people, round trip. With my Canadian standards, I found it totally fair (rather cheap). The bus leaves when full so you might have a little wait before you leave.
Camille O — Google review
I arrived here super early at the advice of my guiding agency, but would recommend just getting here around 7:15am. We left around 7:40am when the bus finally filled up. There were return services at 2, 3, and 4pm. I heard you don’t want to be on the 4pm service because they wait for people to come down the mountain, but the 2pm service only waited a little bit before filling up on its return. Overall, I thought this was a pretty good service. My only complaint is that, like all buses in Peru, they wait for the vehicle to fill up, which can be a huge waste of time when everyone who wants to catch the 2pm bus is already down the mountain and you’re just waiting for people who aren’t intending to take that bus.

Akilpo Adventure Travel Agency

Travel agency
Akilpo Adventure Travel Agency, located in Huaraz, offers day treks with a focus on hiking to explore attractions like the Pastoruri Glacier and Laguna Paron. The agency has received glowing reviews for their guided tours, with travelers praising the exceptional organization and knowledgeable guides. Guests have highlighted the breathtaking experience of watching the sunrise on Cordillera Blanca during the Panorama trek + Laguna 69 excursion.
If you’re heading to Huaraz, stop searching — this is the place to be to stay or for a tour. The rooms are super clean, the beds incredibly comfy, and the breakfast hits the spot every morning. Their tours are well-organized and run by real profs. But what really makes Akilpo special is the team: they’re unbelievably kind and supportive. After an accident, they went above and beyond to help me — true heroes. I felt completely at home and in the best hands. Can’t wait to come back next time I’m in Huaraz! Btw the Lagoon 69 Panoramic was one of the best tours that I did!
Lotte E — Google review
We went to Huaraz in order to do the Santa Cruz Trek. As we were not too experienced in doing hikes on this altitude and over several days- we found the perfect tour operator with Akilpo. Akilpo did a super detailed introduction with us into the characteristics of the trek and how we can prepare us in the best way to get used to the high altitude of the Cordillera Blanca. The Trek was super well organized and professional with a donkey driver, a cook and Luis, our guide. Luis guided us very well over the four days even if we had though weather conditions. The whole team of Akilpo is very obliging, kind and accommodating- you can really feel that they love their jobs. Apart from that, we stayed three nights in Akilpo Home and also had a great experience: super clean and well equipped rooms and the breakfast was also very delicious. All in all, the slightly higher price compared to other tour operators in Huaraz, is definitely worth it and we would always do it again with Akilpo. So thank you very much to the whole Akilpo Team for the pleasant experience and hospitality.
Emma W — Google review
The organisers were really helpful, they made themselves available to fit my schedule. The information they provided for the tour was detailed and thorough. I did the panoramic and Laguna 69 hike. They made sure I was fully prepared by giving me the rental gear required for the hike.

Panoramahike - Laguna 69 was outstanding! The organization, guidance, food and transport! These guys know what they are doing and are very best at it!
Marijn B — Google review
I did the Panorama 69 Hike with Akilpo. Our guide Luis was great. He was open for any questions and looked after us really good. As I had trouble breathing, he stayed with me and offered his help. The breakfast and lunch on the tour was also really good and they had a veggie option. I would definitely book with them again.
Viola B — Google review
Our experience with the Santa Cruz hike organized by Akilpo was okay, but not as good as we expected. The views were beautiful, but the organization could have been much better. Our guide Luis tried his best, but at times he seemed a bit inexperienced and not fully attentive to everyone in the group. The food and logistics were fine, though not very well coordinated. Overall, it was an average experience — we expected a bit more professionalism for the price.
Anthony D — Google review
We greatly enjoyed the Santa Cruz multi-day hike organized by Akilpo. Our guide Luis (who I call mister excellente) took the greatest care of our group. He’s a young, funny and ambitious guide and walks around with a smile on his face all day, even if it’s snowing! Also our donkey driver (Jesus) and cooker (a name too hard for me to reminder) greatly contributed to our experience. I would 10 out of 10 times recommend Akilpo as a tour organiser, and Luis as a guide! Many thanks again, Gijs and Sophie.
Gijs R — Google review
We were quite disappointed with the Santa Cruz hike organized by Akilpo. Our guide Luis didn’t seem very experienced or attentive to the group’s needs. Sometimes he walked too far ahead and didn’t check if everyone was okay. The donkey driver and cook did their jobs, but overall the organization felt messy and uncoordinated. For the price we paid, we expected much better service. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend Akilpo or Luis as a guide based on our experience.

Cumbre is a must-visit restaurant in Huaraz, offering a stunning location just a 15-minute drive or an hour's walk uphill from the city. The hike up to the restaurant provides not only breathtaking views but also helps with acclimatization. The food at Cumbre is highly praised, with delicious dishes like chicken Cordon Bleu and perfectly cooked fries. Visitors can also enjoy refreshing juices and delectable chocolate cake.
Great spot for lunch, amazing food, service and views. We were lucky enough to have Kattia serving us, she was excellent! Highly recommend visiting here for a meal or drink if you are in Huaraz.

Wonderful experience! The food was great (we had the pasta dishes) and the hosts couldn’t have been more accommodating. They gave us binoculars so we could enjoy the amazing views and also gave us a book to show some of the best hikes in the area. Brilliant lunch - highly recommend.

I love this place. The hike up is one of the best ways to get familiar with the city and help with acclimatization. The food is amazing. Their fries are on point. I love the chicken Cordon Bleu. Even just grabbing a beer and watching the clouds move across the mountains is fun. It's a great place to stop on the journey back from Puka Ventana. I also love thier chocolate cake and various juices. Great place. Great staff.

This place is fantastic. We came for dinner. The service was amazing someone in our group was lactose intolerant and they were very accomodating with the chef personally coming to the table to advise on the menu choices. The food was delicious and the view was incredible. I highly recommend visiting here!

Excellent view over the city of Huaraz. The food was very delicious and the waiter was very kind, giving us explanations about typical dishes and providing us with binoculars and a book about Huaraz. Would definitely recommend!

Amazing food! Awesome staff! Best view of Huaraz. After, take a walk into the mountains before you leave. What an amazing place! Nothing else competes. I'll be back, hopefully sooner than later. Thanks again for the hospitality! You guys rock!

This is a wonderful restaurant with the best view of the mountains in Huaraz! Take an acclimatization hike up to the Mirador and enjoy a lovely meal, drinks or dessert at the top! We had the daily special - tender pork with mote, potatoes and a pisco as well as the trout with home made fries and vegetables. Yum! Service was excellent. Highly recommended when in Huaraz!

Excellent food, friendly service and a fantastic view of the mountains and the city. This family run restaurant is definitely the best in Huaraz. It is an easy walk from town (it took us less than an hour to walk there starting at Plaza de Armas). Don't miss it !

Peruvian restaurant
Calima - Restaurant & Café in Huaraz, Peru is a must-visit for its incredible food and lovely staff. Visitors rave about the delicious dishes like Ossobuco, lomo saltado, and trigotto with confit pork. The restaurant also offers great options for take-away sandwiches perfect for day hikes. Diners appreciate the careful packaging to keep the sandwiches fresh. The flavors are described as unreal and exceptional, making it a perfect post-trek dining spot.
We usually want local cuisine such as Peruvian food. However we saw how good the ratings were and have hardly eaten veal due to how expensive it usually is. This has been one of the best meals, if not the best meal we have had in our travels through central and south America! We had the ossubuco with red wine and the ossubuco with quinoa. Both were really delicious with large portions of veal. Tender and well cooked with great flavour. Great value for money, friendly service with a relaxing atmosphere and an open kitchen. I definitely recommend this place! Thanks so much for having us.

We came here three times during our visit in Huaraz! The food here is amazing, beautifully presented and full of flavour. The salmon was particularly good! The staff were able to prepare me gluten free food - the waiter took my allergy card to the kitchen and confirmed with me what I could eat! Please visit if you’re in Huaraz!
Ciara D — Google review
Super overrated ossobuco given the price (relative to what Huaraz has to offer). A lot of it was fat and the beef itself was bland. The sauce was nothing special. For the same price Salme’s ossobuco with ravioli is much more noteworthy in presentation and taste (fat free and tender).
Z — Google review
We were in Huaraz for 3 days, and went here everyday. The osso-buco is phenomenal and mouth watering. Highly recommend. The Lomo Saltado was great. We also enjoyed their juices and smoothies. We would have explored their brunch menu, but didn’t want to seem too crazy.

Saw the good reviews and photos, and decided to try it out. The meal was fantastic with generous portions. So good I came for dinner twice.
Gavin K — Google review
Overall, I had a decent experience here. We sat upstairs, which was nice, but the service was a bit slow since the waiter didn’t come around often and there was no way to call him when we needed something. The food was good, though nothing that really stood out, the polenta was fine but not amazing. What did disappoint me a little was that the pictures in the reviews don’t match the current menu. Some of those dishes just aren’t available anymore, so it was a letdown when I couldn’t order what I had seen online.
Noam Y — Google review
Slow service but amazing food! English menus available, which was nice since we just got off a plane and many places (including touristy places) don't. Downstairs and upstairs seating. From downstairs you can see into the kitchen and see all the flames. We got Calima lomos saltados and menestron Calima and would gladly eat both again. The beef was pretty standard but well done. Nice crisp potatoes. The soup was really unique, a delicious creamy pumpkin broth with a huge hunk of rib braised rib meat, some veggies, and pesto on top. The meat was flavorful and nice and tender but a bit fussy to eat as one big chunk with the bones still in it. The bowl many not look big but it was deep and a huge portion, served with a kind of dry grilled cheese that was nice for mopping up. We were seated immediately but it took around an hour to get our food but it was worth it. They take credit card.
Savvy E — Google review
I can absolutely recommend this restaurant! Me and my wife had dinner here during our stay in Huaraz in late August 2025. The food was just delicious! You must try the Quinotto (it's like a Risotto from Quinoa). You can have it as a vegetarian option or with meat - we tried both. We also had the Beterraga Carpacio (red beet) as a starter and it was wonderful as well. Prices are also very fair considering it's in a quiet touristy place. The service was friendly and very attentive. The atmosphere of the restaurant is rather basic, but this does not tale away from the amazing food. And you can pay with credit card without an extra fee, which is great as well.

$$$$affordable
Restaurant
Don Vito Pollo y Parrillas is a recommended spot to savor pollo a la brasa. The waiting time for your order is approximately 15 minutes, and the prices are in the vicinity of $7. While it may not be an establishment that specializes in traditional Ancashi cuisine, it offers delectable Peruvian grilled dishes and chicken options.
Excellent place for grilled chicken, clean restaurant, big portions, nice servers. I went here twice!
Tom A — Google review
The food was good enough but it could be better. The chicken was a little undercooked. Ketchup and mustard were in a bag and it looks cheap and I had a hard time opening it. They should put all the sauces on little plates so that it could be easier to get them. The atmosphere was nice but it could be even better.
Jarriddler — Google review
Good place to taste pollo a la brasa. You have to wait up to 15 minutes for your food to arrive. Prices are around 7 dollars. It's not a traditional Ancashi food restaurant, but a place for Peruvian grill and chicken.
Larry D — Google review
Good food, nice setting. Service can be super slow at times.
Mikko R — Google review
Terrible food and terrible service. We had one person’s main arrive with another’s side dish, before the starters. No cutlery with the food, then forks but no knives. Then the wrong starter came, then a wrong main. Terrible food and terrible service. Worst meal in a long time. And terrible techno music playing as if it were a warehouse rave.
Jean-Marc K — Google review
Perfectly cooked meat and great sauce selection! The chicken and anticuchos were delicious all for under 15 soles. Unlimited salad bar is also a huge bonus.

One of the most horrible restaurant I've been in Huaraz, the food is no more then ok, and service is no less then awful ! A simple glass of drink took them no less then 15 min... The waitress actually roll eyes to me when I wanted to ask something about the menu.. If you know what's good for you don't go to this place!

La Rustika Chicken is a popular spot for travelers staying at La casa de Maruja B&B. The restaurant offers generous portions of savory chicken dishes at affordable prices, making it a convenient and satisfying option for a quick meal. While the menu primarily focuses on chicken with various sides, the quality and taste of the food are highly praised by visitors. Additionally, the establishment also serves well-made cocktails, including pisco sour.
Good value for the portion. The 1/4 chicken was really filing and it came within 5 mins piping hot. Chicken was moist and delicious. The only downside was the ketchup, it was really liquid, would love the Heinz ketchup, if they sell in Peru.
Jeremy T — Google review
I ordered drinks to start. 10 minutes later no drinks. Waited for the food order which was taken twice. The waiter came back a third time to confirm. At this point we’d been in the restaurant 30 minutes. We only ordered 2 dishes one dish never came. So I ate on my own. When we asked where the other was they’d not started it so we asked for the bill and left. The staff don’t listen and forget everything. No tip left. Food was ok but wouldn’t go there again. Shame really because it looked ok.
Symone C — Google review
We came here some times during our holiday, as we stayed in the nearby B&B La casa de Maruja. It offers large portions and savory dishes, considering that it is quite cheap. They are quite fast. The variety is not huge, most dishes consist of chicken with some sides, but for an evening every now and then it’s perfect. They make good pisco sour (and other cocktails) as well.

10 soles for a 1/4 chicken with fries and salad, the food was good, I'd probably rate a 3.5 if I could. Service was quick. The lemonade was tasty.

Nevado Pastoruri is a breathtaking glacier surrounded by mountains, but it has lost more than half of its surface area since 1995. Nestled in the heart of Huaraz, ANDÉN VERDE is a culinary gem that you simply cannot miss. This charming eatery specializes in mouthwatering dishes like their crispy calamari tempura and savory beef empanadas, all priced between S/15 and S/20. A must-try is their grilled maduritos paired with paria cheese and bacon—a delightful combination!
The food, service and setting here were great. We spent time selecting the top 4 rated restaurants in Huaraz. This was the last one we went to and it was by far the best. We should have eaten here everyday. The quality, taste and presentation were great. It costs a bit more, but you’re not wasting your money.

The restaurant has several strengths, including its unique and creative dishes and beverages. The staff is very enthusiastic and attentive. However, there are a few drawbacks. The drinks take quite a long time to prepare, leading to extended waiting periods. Additionally, the kitchen produces a lot of smoke, which can leave a lingering smell on patrons. The lighting in the restaurant is also too bright and could be dimmed for a more comfortable ambiance. Overall, if you are looking to experience something special, akin to a fine dining restaurant, this place is worth a visit. Despite the minor issues, the innovative cuisine and drink offerings make it a standout destination. ---

This is the best restaurant in Huaraz without a doubt. The menu is interesting and varied. The food is fresh and delicious - we loved the butter served with the bread. The wait staff are knowledgeable and it’s nice to watch the chefs at work in the kitchen. There was a good wine selection and the glass of Malbec I had was delicious.

We live in London and are spoiled with one of the best restaurant scenes in the world. But oh boy, Anden Verde is amazing! Excellent dishes. And for the quality, a very fair price. Worth the walk from the standard tourist strip of Huaraz.

First time there, we waited for 30 minutes for a glass of wine to be served, an hour for main course. They had no enough water in inventory. So we had a bottle of water and could not order the second one. Anyway, let's talk about their food.. The ingredients and its quality are outstanding. Everything there is exceptionally delicious that I had to come back for a second time. I would recommend that they consider hiring a restaurant manager to oversee their operations because this could be easily be the best restaurant in town with standard like in Lima.

Some of the best food I had in Peru. We stumbled across this restaurant by chance and ended up eating there 3 times during our 6 day stay in Huaraz (and it would’ve been more had we not spent 2 nights on the mountain). The service was excellent (seems to be inconsistent when reading the reviews, but for us it was flawless). One night we got there too early but were starving and had an appointment to attend later that night. They opened up half an hour early just for us and it made our night! But above all… the food! The team that works in the kitchen here has elaborated a bold, innovative fusion menu and it’s not only the best food I had in Peru, but it’s up there with the best food I’ve ever had, period. I HIGHLY recommend you go out of your way to try this restaurant if you’re not travelling on a tight budget (the prices are on the higher end, which is totally normal and expected for the level of quality of the establishment).
Alex K — Google review
Sincerely the best place in town, in fact the food quality is so high that you be like oh my God, it is expensive, we spend 100$ for 2 persons, and alejandrina our server, was amazing, the ppl who made or food where Amazing, and they explain everything for you and the portion are so good to share and small enough to try more then one, me and my cousin really wanted to try like 5 appetizers and 2 main course, but many things where missing, we did do 2 desserts and we wanted 3 but is okay, we could spend more money but they didn't have the product. A little disappointing, the chicken a little dry but with the sauce, it was good, they had no to go box,.that was really astonishing, for a place is good not to have to go box amazing. Two more thing I'm going to say is negative, is the environment, feel like you in a run down spot, like they bought a failing bakery or small restaurant, and made it look like a ex fancy place that they owner never was there because he had other things to do. It felt so abandoned and outdated, the food was amazing and the service good, but one thing almost ruined it for me, when she served the salad, she knew that the sauce was going to explode, and got my all white outfit stained, I can clean it in USA, but in Peru it seems . . . Like that a scientific achievement that they need to figure out yet, so I had to not to wear my white hoodie again. . . Sad, but anyways, I feel that the server was a little bit cold, barely approaches the table, rather sit down in front of the computer instead of talking to us the only guest in the whole restaurant, but okay, I know ppl in Peru look down to servers. But it wouldn't be nice to have a conversation with her, the bread was amazing it was so so good, after that we had a sad with a hot stone that was like a little experience that I will say that fetches were very fresh they were very unique I never tried nothing that I felt like I was eating flowers out of a little pot but they were very very good oh my God you can't even imagine, after that we had the causa, it was perfect it was fantastic the only thing the french fries they should put some lemon on it way better, but all those three appetizers were phenomenal, I wish they had more so I can order more appetizers anyways. The main course with the chicken and it was amazing it was very very good and I'm going to lie, but like I said from the beginning it was a little bit dry, they could give you a little bit more sauce, anything with pita bread that was very good. Then we had two desserts one with yacon and the other like a cake, both amazing but the one with yacon has to be eaten last it will clean your pallet ! Amazing 🤩!!!!!!!!! And we had Moscow mules, but to be honest is very disappointing that they only have two cocktails in the whole restaurant 2! 2 cocktails ! What ?! That's it ?! Anyways hopefully next year they be there and I be back with my cuz because wez really loved it ! And wez coming back for realz!

Refined, Michelin star style cooking! I went there with a friend who has been to the restaurant twice before. The set up is like going to someones house for a meal - very intimate and not too busy or crowded. We were seated at the bar area/ chefs table and could see all the plating and cooking. The chef talked us through the menu, the ingredients, their orgin - all locally sourced. He also gave us a background of the restaurant, his experience and desire to set up the restaurant in a place where he grew up. He is absolutely passionate about his work and the food he creats in his kitchen. It is fine dining at all levels. We ended up having three starters, two mains, glass of white wine and could have possibly eaten more. It is a taxi ride from city centre but its totally worth it. I am glad that I had an opportunity to meet the chef and enjoy such great food. We were very lucky to get reservation at last minute. It is a hidden secret at the moment but I can see it getting very popular very soon with tourists as well as locals.

Restaurant
If you're looking for a delightful dining experience in Huaraz, look no further than Restaurante & Pizzeria TEO'S. This bustling eatery is a favorite among locals, which speaks volumes about its quality and appeal. The menu boasts an array of delicious options, but the standout has to be their pizza—it's simply mouthwatering! While Peruvian dishes like Sopa de Gallina are popular here, many visitors find comfort in the familiar flavors of pizza.
The place offers great options for dinner. I personally had a pizza that was really tasty. You know a place is good when it gets crowded with locals, and Theo’s was packed with people gathering and enjoying their meals. Even though I’m not a big fan of Peruvian food, the Sopa de Gallina is quite popular there. But if you want to play it safe, definitely go for the pizza! :)

Food is good and fair prices. If you're on a budget this is the place to eat cause food is cheap.

Good value, good portion, good food. This place is filled with locals and you know it's a good place to eat at. So much carbs in the food, fries, rice. This was so filing. The juice was also delicious and freshly made.

It was very tasty and very good prices. Happy to come back.

Decent food, but it took more than 1 hour and restaurant wasn't even busy the time.

I ate here nearly every day while I was in Huaraz because the quality for the price was unbeatable. I tried the local dish Caldo de Gallina in several places but theirs was the nicest in my opinion. The fresh juices are also great.

I ordered the Chicherron de Chancho, which arrived very late and was mediocre (pork was nearly cold and 90% fat, and the fries were soggy with lemon juice from the salad). The other dishes seemt much better.

great food, service and the price is good too.
