Delamere Forest Visitor Centre

Visitor center
Delamere Forest Visitor Centre offers a variety of walking and cycling trails suitable for all fitness levels. The Gruffalo trail is a hit with children, featuring character sightings and woodland adventures. The well-maintained paths are clean and litter-free, making it an enjoyable experience for visitors. The visitor center itself is welcoming, with clean facilities and beautiful walks around the forest and Blakemere Moss. However, some visitors find the parking fees to be quite expensive.
Amazing site, obviously great value and tonnes to see and do if you enjoy easy going outdoor stuff. Kids love it, mega for bikes, walking, dogs your usual walking based outdoor stuff. Centre area is always clean even with how busy it's gets. Plenty of parking which is decently priced considering this effectively your fee to visit, train stations basically on site anyway too. Food available seems ok priced, just a lot of people for a small set up in comparison
Stu W — Google review
Great brand new visitor centre with toilets and coffee shop. Lots of space and helpful staff. However the parking is so expensive. I believe we paid £10 for 3h. It's outrageous. I was told it's because we need to pay off the investment but for how long? Forest itself is a beautiful place to visit. They also have go ape and other attractions.
Anna S — Google review
Good outdoor family day out. Bike park and blue rated mtb trails. Lots of walks from a mile to 7 iirc. Good facilities including parking, toilets, cafe and seating areas.

Took our 1 year old puppies out for big long walk around this great place. There are toilets and cafe and visitors centre offering help and Information about the walks and events happening throughout the year .

i loved the honey comb ice cream ,the toilet are clean and spacious. I liked that apple and plum trees were around
Elluz S — Google review
Great parking and great family trails we did the gruffalo trail will be back to do many more trails, picnic tables dotted about the trails and plenty areas to bring picnic for cheap family day out
Shemeliah W — Google review
The forest trails are delightful and we had a great time cycling. However the carpark is very expensive - I paid £12 for 5 hours. The cafe was very busy which was not surprising as it was a glorious September Sunday. Most staff were pleasant and helpful but sadly the woman seemingly in charge of the coffee machine was rude to both the public and members of staff.
Linda O — Google review
Fantastic place unfortunately for me I did not feel very well. The staff in the visitor centre sat me down and gave me water & some lovely cakes. I can't thank them enough for their care and attention unfortunately I did not get names I think one was called Hugh I'm sorry did not get the Lady's but never the less a BIG BIG thanks to all involved. 👍😊😀

Cafe
Delamere Forest Cafe is a delightful spot nestled within the scenic beauty of Delamere Forest, offering visitors an array of walking routes to explore. With three distinct trails ranging from 1.9 miles to 3.9 miles, adventurers can choose their path based on preference and time available. The trails are color-coded for easy navigation, although it’s easy to get sidetracked—like many who have found themselves wandering from green to red!
Lovely cafe, vegan options (even cake!), very clean and tidy and nicely designed to fit in with the area. Staff are polite and fast. Highly recommend!
Charlie G — Google review
The cafe, whilst sizable can and does get packed out, especially on weekends so find a table can be hit and miss. The food and drinks offerings are pretty good, with a separate pizza truck, and ice cream booth.
Matthew C — Google review
Had a very disappointing experience. Arrived 4min after 4pm and been told no more food is being served. I have seen on the website that kitchen close 1h before the cafe but I anticipated some basic hot food still being served due to it being labelled 'family run cafe' Just been told boldly "no", whilst the guy played on his phone. Could do better, what an end to our visit 👎
Juste B — Google review
Plenty of food and drink on offer, very tasty as well. The building inside and out is gorgeous and kept very clean. There are many toilet cubicles available and they were very clean also. Only problem we had were wasps! Obviously not the fault of the café and nothing they can do about it, but it definitely did affect my experience.
Rhian J — Google review
Loved it! 3 walking routes available, we started on the shortest, got mixed up and then ended up on the longest. One is 1.9 miles another 2.1 and the finally 3.9miles as a loop. It is colour coded to prevent this happening but we were a bit thick and went from green to red but it made a lovely walk as we weren't in a rush. Very pleasant walking trails around the lake with so many tiny frogs bouncing around on the paths so do watch your footing walking about. They are about the size of a 5p so some good eye sight is needed or else you will be taking dead frogs home in the treds of your boots. Nice green areas, great for a casual walk or biking, and as you can see from the pictures, good views and large walking areas. Cafe on site, reasonable pricing and tastes amazing. Free toilets and certainly wheelchair friendly. Great for dog walkers as the area is so large you really can spend the day here and venture as far as you wish around the area. Parking was good, there's 3 or 4 car parks available so if you are meeting with some one make sure you know where before hand. ** like we didn't make that mistake....yes another one** One of the parking sites we visited was huge and not bad pricing to be honest and to help I have attached attached picture for thee to see. Happy venturing!!

During our visit to Delamere forest we visit the café, its a modern facility and very spacious with good facilities near by such as toilet 🚻. It was very noisy, dogs 🐕 are allowed in with their owners. Regarding food ,quality average, however, prices are pretty high,I suppose its a captive market, and they must use the revenue to support the forest and other facilities. You can always take a packed lunch as picnic benches are outside. Overall its a good place to stop for refreshments although extremely busy and noisy.
Martin E — Google review
Cafe itself is in a lovely new building. The food is perfectly fine. Staff weren't entirely clear what they were offering and the food seemed slightly over priced for what it was, but "did the job". Strangely the fusli pasta is vegetarian, it just doesn't list it as such on the menu. The forest is lovely to go for a walk around, with loads of paths of different lengths. Highly recommend a walk in the woods. Just not a place to go for just to visit the cafe.
Matthew W — Google review
I asked for freshly made orange juice and refused to take one from the fridge made 8h ago (morning). Person at the till disrespectfully made a comment to colleague and make me understand that my request was irrational. Very disrespectful staff and approach. Ice-cream was OK.

Bicycle rental service
Bicycle Shop
Tracs (U.K.) Ltd is a mountain bike shop located in Delamere Forest, offering sales, rentals, guided forest rides, and courses for riders of all levels. They have a range of mountain bikes available for hire from the visitors center area, with options to book in advance. Customers have praised the thorough explanations provided by the team when hiring bikes for the first time and appreciated additional amenities such as gel seat covers and properly fitted helmets.
Went for a ride around Delamere this morning and managed to snap my chain but didnt have a split link with me. Went into tracs and couldnt of been more helpful. Their mechanic had taken ill earlier that day but another member of staff managed to repair my chain there and then and get me on my way.
Phil N — Google review
Hired four bikes for our elder boy’s birthday (£120 in total for 3 hours): we booked ahead by a couple of weeks. When we arrived, the only bike available for our (average-sized) 9 year old was an old Raleigh with almost completely-bald tyres. After 30 minutes we had to return to the centre as he couldn’t actually ride it without slipping all over the place. We were told there were no other bikes other than the same model (with equally bald tyres). Not only that, it turns out that particular model is not allowed on the actual bike trails (presumably because they’re not safe); they have no suspension whereas the others have it at the front. It turns out we were over-charged by £10 as my younger son needed a child’s size (no option for this on the website) but no one adjusted our payment. We did receive a partial refund after complaining, and the manager was very helpful on the phone) but all in all, I don’t rate the quality of the bikes whatsoever nor the selection for children under 5 foot.
Hannah H — Google review
Hired bikes on a Monday afternoon and went round both the white and blue trails. It was extremely fun, the trails are exciting whilst remaining accessible for those who are not hardcore mountain bikers but want a taste without killing themselves! They have banked corners, quick down hill sections, small rollers - a real hoot. I highly recommend! We didn't book, but would advise to avoid disappointment. The staff couldn't be more helpful, explained everything to us with real enthusiasm and just gave off a nice vibe. Thank you guys. Will be doing this again. You can take your own bike btw, the ones we hired were of good quality, hard tails with suspension that were more than good enough for the job, they gave us helmets too!
Simon I — Google review
Huge thanks to the guys in the shop who saved the day when my little girl's front bike wheel came off mid trail in the forest. It was not a hire bike but they still found and fitted the missing bolt for us free of charge. They even turned down the offer of a thank you ice cream on a swelteringly hot day!.... such brilliant service and we are so grateful. Thank you.
Clare M — Google review
I had a horrible rattling noise on my bike. Adam quickly diagnosed it and sorted it out with no fuss. Fast turn around and reasonable prices. Even just had my tubeless tyre setup done, fast turn around again. Would recommend to others, but I know the shop is closing soon, which is a real shame
Ben — Google review
An absolutely excellent service. My son lost the screws from his helmet in the forest and they came to our rescue. He was so happy with the repair. Such knowledgeable, helpful and kind staff.
Jennie K — Google review
Nipped into the shop at the weekend as I thought I had a puncture. After taking the inner tube out and checking it, we realised it was not a puncture but me being an idiot and not knowing how a presta valve works 🤦🏼‍♀️ both guys in the shop were really lovely and helpful and didn't even laugh at me 😅 thank you x
Garat1213 — Google review
Despite Chris’s best efforts, few faults with the bikes meant we had to cut the ride short. Swapped out one bike 3 times but all had dangerous cassette faults. Shop not able to refund locally but promised to sort us out on our next visit. Shop staff top class and v helpful, poor management and repairs.

Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks
Go Ape Delamere offers an exhilarating treetop adventure in the heart of the forest. Visitors can explore the canopy via a thrilling rope course, with options for both young children and older participants. The Treetop Adventure is perfect for those over 1m tall, while the more challenging Treetop Adventure Plus is designed for those over 1.2m and above 6 years old. This experience includes suspended obstacles, higher platforms, and longer zip-lines.
We had a fabulous fun morning at Go Ape. We did the Tree Top adventure plus and loved it! Our group had a mixed of abilities and the team helped when my son was nervous, encouraging and offering the option to get off and to have another go. Even despite the rainy weather this did not stop the fun or the adventure, my youngest is already asking to go back!
Helen B — Google review
Good experience as a family. We all followed instructions and found it a good experience. 5yr old needed help with all the clips as he was too short, would recommend for 6+ or taller child. Nearly 9yr old enjoyed the two treetop adventure routes and the treetop adventure plus route. But needed the toilet as there was a lot of waiting round. The induction/setup was fine. Two children went up in front of us with adults watching but then got too scared to move so staff needed to climb past to help. There should be a recommendation that the first climb should be supervised by an adult on the course, not from the ground.
Julia C — Google review
Booked for my teen daughter & her friend to go to a sundown session and they had a fantastic time. The staff are always great and today was no exception. Friendly, helpful and always ready to chat, we even had good weather! Would highly recommend.

The family did the after sunset adventure. It was brilliant. The staff were really patient, friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
John S — Google review
Excellent experience from start to finish. Staff were all friendly and welcoming. Safety instructions were delivered with knowledge and precision. The course was great fun, and the overall experience was brilliant!! Staff even recommended other courses to try on my future travels! I would definitely do Go Ape again!
Stewart W — Google review
We visited for the sundown adventure and although the kids enjoyed it I do think more supervision is needed. The staff were congregated in one area chatting rather than spread out supervising. There were no staff in the center, looking up supervising. I was also surprised there were no staff whatsoever at any of the podiums up in the trees to assist quickly incase of an emergency or if any one needed help etc. There wasn't one staff member up on the course to supervised which I found strange. The safety briefing I barely understood, so I doubt children have an easy time comprehending it. It was an audio played aloud and the instructions weren't very clear whatsoever. The audio was playing as the member of staff would also speak so it was hard to keep up, would make more sense for the staff to explain clearly rather than an audio recording. It was very over priced for the time you got. Also, a certain staff member could be quite pushy. Helpful encouragement is one thing but sometimes that boundary was crossed and it became pushy. He was probably unaware of this but is worth noting. Definitely safety was a big issue and concern due to the lack of supervision and staff presence throughout the course both on the ground and up on the course.

Great place , walked through the forest ( got lost 😂😂) but made it more fun , kids enjoyed the gruffalo trail followed by a ice cream at the cafe onsite 👍👍👍

Cafe
Tea house
When you visit Delamere Forest, the Station House is the go-to place for a meal. One of their popular options is the Veggie Breakfast, which is a generous plate with toast or fried bread, eggs, veggie sausages, hash browns, grilled tomato, beans, and mushrooms. Although it may be slightly more expensive than other cafes (drinks are not included), this breakfast will definitely keep you full all day long.
Lovely little cafe by the train station, dog friendly, delicious homemade cakes, plenty of seating inside and out. Lots of parking (if you don’t arrive by train).
Rosie T — Google review
Had breakfast on our way back from a week camping trip. Dog friendly with plenty of outdoor seating. Wide range on the menu. Opted for the Full English which was reasonably priced but disappointed to find it was mainly all deep fried. Ordered a latte & a Cappuccino, watched as warm milk poured into both cups, one then dusted with chocolate. Friendly & attentive staff all but one.
Jan J — Google review
Visited earlier in the morning when it was relatively quiet. I ordered a flat white and crumpets, but the coffee machine wasn’t working, so I had to settle for a filter coffee instead. I then waited nearly 30 minutes for the crumpets, which never arrived. When I went to request a refund, I was met with an incredibly rude response from the male cook. Instead of apologising, he insisted it hadn’t been 30 minutes and said he was going to check the CCTV, essentially accusing me of lying. I had used Apple Pay, so I knew exactly how long ago I had paid. I was absolutely taken aback by the attitude. Based on that interaction alone, I won’t be returning. On a positive note, the girl with glasses was lovely and polite, and they do have a wide selection of cakes.
Anna M — Google review
Amazing little cafe in the forest. Much better priced than the forestry commission cafe. Brilliant selection of meals, and a good choice for vegetarians and vegans too. Good to see gluten free cakes available too.
Wendy G — Google review
Happened to stop after many years saying I would one day. What a wonderful place. Staff absolutely lovely and the station building fantastic. The coffee spot on but the homemade sausage rolls are sublime. Definitely worth a stop over
No T — Google review
Lovely little cafe offering a good variety in food and drink options. The food is really tasty and has a quality of properly homemade produce. It’s a great stop off point after or even before a walk, or just a good place for a meet up.
Diana W — Google review
The food is delicious and well priced, the only let down is that the tables aren't cleaned properly, whether that was an oversight I do not know, but we sat there for an hour and our table wasn't clean when we sat down and I saw another table have the slimmest of wipe overs after someone else had left it. But it is really nice, it really just need that extra care and attention to detail.
Paul W — Google review
Very expensive considering the quality of the food and drink. Sausages were cheap ones and the drinks were very small for the price and only luke warm. Staff not too good either, not the best attitude with regards to customer service. Wouldn't return there or recommend.

Pub
Nestled in the picturesque Oakmere, close to Delamere Forest, the Vale Royal Abbey Arms is a charming country pub steeped in history, housed within a stunning 200-year-old listed building. This family and dog-friendly establishment boasts a spacious beer garden complete with a play area for children, as well as cozy indoor seating options. Guests can enjoy award-winning ales alongside an enticing menu that features hearty dishes perfect for any appetite.
What a lovely pub. There was an offer on steaks when I went with my friend. It was 20% of the cost of the steak. I took advantage and had a mixed grill. Which is something I wouldn't normally go far as it's expensive. I'm so glad I had the mixed grill. It was huge. And every bit if food was delicious. There was steak, gammon, sausages, chicken breast, chips, onion rings, tomato, fried egg. Wow. I couldn't eat it all. Brought some home. My friend had a huge whale size portion of fish. With chips and mushy peas. A lovely bottle of house wine. A great lunch. There is plenty of parking spaces. Well worth a visit
Caroline S — Google review
We love the Vale Royal Abbey Arms because it’s a large, well-managed pub in a good location, with plenty of parking. Our dog loves it because there’s usually plenty of space in the dog-friendly dining areas and there’s even a dog menu and doggy treat station. The food is very good - I’m a particular fan of the steak and ale pie, and you can have a miniature dessert and coffee if you’ve not got room for a large portion. The service is excellent. We have been looked after several times by Ben - who is particularly thoughtful and efficient.
Lorna B — Google review
This is a pub I'll definitely be back to. Near Delamere forest, so an ideal stop after a walk in the trees. Great food. I highly recommend the steak and ale pie. Comes with chips or fries, but I asked for mash which wasn't a problem. Mushy peas or garden peas too. Every one of the staff were courteous and helpful.
Robert O — Google review
Just went for a beer. The Arms seemed popular with a pleasant, comfy atmosphere. A decent-sized beer garden. I had a Manchester IPA (?), which had an aftertaste, so I tried Manchester Craft Lager. It was nice, especially on a warm summer day. But at £5.90, I felt it was slightly overpriced.
Craig T — Google review
This place just gets better and better. The staff are well trained and professional - not the students doing it for a couple of weeks - and it really shows in the level of service. Ben, who we have come across before, was absolutely on it; service was prompt but not over the top - food and drinks arriving quickly. The food's great as well - clearly mostly home made from fresh ingredients. The range of drinks are great.
Michael B — Google review
Fantastic staff, service and incredible food. Onion rings are spectacular! The fish and chips is the best I’ve ever had. Every time we’ve ever been, everything has been perfect. Very reasonable pricing for quality food.

Booked a table here a week ago, when we turned up after travelling for an hour I noticed no reserved signs 🪧 n any table in the dog friendly area we had booked. The waitress offered us a really low table or eat outside. We were treated better in the venue when it was owned by hungry horse

Nestled in the picturesque Cheshire countryside, Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre offers an enriching experience for both equestrian enthusiasts and nature aficionados. The center provides a perfect blend of education and entertainment, allowing visitors to delve into the history of the majestic shire horse while interacting with them and their caretakers.
Really enjoyed our ridiculously rainy day here, we went on the wildlife talk with one of the volunteers who was really informative and clearly loved the animals. Then we had 'meet the shire' talk with one of the foals and her mum, again a really nice experience with a guide happy to answer our questions. As well as the horses there are lots of chickens, geese and ducks, a pig, foxes, otters, pole cats, Scottish wildcats and an owl. There are also red deer but we only saw them at a distance because of the rain.

Such an amazing place. The horses are so well looked after and loved meeting each visitor. They loved having cuddles and pets. The staff were really friendly and informative about all the animals not just the horses. The otters in particular were so gorgeous 🥰 It’s a long walk around with some seating but could benefit from more. I would highly recommend going for the day out here, taking a picnic and just going at your own pace.
Elizabeth W — Google review
What a lovely place! My daughter enjoyed every minute from grooming a Shetland to stroking the shire horses noses. All animals are friendly and ysed to people, the chickens and geese will eat grain (bought from the shop) from your hand. My favourite bit was feeding time for the otters, red foxes and the wild cats! There were 4 shire foals in the paddocks and a big hello to the shire mare "Broom" who was so friendly, my daughter fell in love and bought a matching horse from the gift shop. There is a coffee shop on site that does food and slices of cake as well. Great place, would recommend to families with children of any age.

Fantastic day at the Shire Horse Centre with my pony mad grandchildren. On our arrival it was feeding time for the otters, pole cat, foxes and wild cats. Great to see these creatures up really close and learn about the conservation partnerships and learn more about the individual animals themselves. The setting is really lovely with huge fields for the shire horses and paths to follow around the centre. We saw red deer in the field. Getting up close to the horses and foals was definitely the highlight of our visit. Great food in the cafe and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend a visit here.
Anne D — Google review
we had the most amazing day here looking at the animals! the shire horses are so beautiful and we were able to stroke them as well as listen to a talk about each of them. The centre also has otters and foxes which we were able to learn about whilst they were being fed. Honestly, the most incredible place with such friendly staff and beautiful animals - will definitely be coming back!

Went for my birthday (I'm 72) bringing my grandchildren next time😊 update. Took 3 of my horse mad grandchildren and they loved it. It was really hot the day we went so I think the otters, red squirrels and wild cat were sheltering in the shade. Horses are lovely and staff really knowledgeable and nice. Went to the Alvanley Arms after for a meal. Lovely. 🤩

We had a wonderful day at Cotebrook. Justin, our knowledgeable and funny guide, introduced us to otters, foxes, wild cats, owl, and the beautiful Shire mares and their foals. We spent the rest of our time walking around the extensive countryside looking for Shire horses, deer, and the beautiful rural views. We definitely earned our tea and cake back at the café. Sitting on the viewing deck, listening to the peacocks, and looking at the many birds that frequent the area. Cotebrook staff are very welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful. My Mother's Day gift of a visit to Cotebrook was the best! The ticket purchased means that we can return within the month, for free, what's not to like🐎🦊🦉🦚🌳🦌🐷🐱

We had a great visit to Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre. The Shire horses are absolutely beautiful, and it was fascinating to learn about them from the friendly, knowledgeable staff. There are also other animals to see. The facilities were clean, and there’s a nice café for a bite to eat plus a well-stocked gift shop. There’s also plenty of parking, which made the visit easy and stress-free. A lovely spot for a relaxed and family-friendly day out!

What a beautiful garden with some very unusual trees and plants. The restaurant staff are lovely, and the food to die for! Pork strogannoff is excellent!!

Nice garden, quite small to look around . Nice photos to be taken, short time spent there.

Really lovely place to take the dog for a walk, our dog enjoyed running in the fields. Lovely cafe with really friendly staff. Good toilet facilities which can be hard to find open in current times. Food was outstanding, good quality, we wrapped up and sat outside in the pretty garden to enjoy the views. All in all a good day out and any queries we had via email were answered promptly by Harry. I really enjoyed our visit here and would recommend to others looking for a peaceful walk with nature.

Interesting and varied. The tropical garden had some little gems. The "prairie " garden beautiful at this time of year (autumn). The restaurant spacious and attractive. Cake delicious. Signage on road inadequate. Easy to miss. Entrance very reasonably priced. Well worth a visit at this time of year.

A really nice couple of hours spent exploring. Gardens are very well kept there & there are plenty of benches around the site to sit and take in the gardens and the views. There are also chickens and sheep around the site along with meadow areas which I'm sure will be alive with butterflies a little later in the season. There is a wooded area and a play area for those with children.

This is an excellent place to visit. Parking is free and entrance to the gardens is through the restaurant. The gardens are spread out and range from formal to prairie. There is a children's play area, a kitchen garden and nature walks through the woods. It is easily a good half day experience. The restaurant is very good and well patronised. I would suggest booking a table in advance.

Went to the plant hunters fair and walked around the wonderful gardens. The fair had about 12 specialist plant stalls with some rare plants for sale at a decent price. The gardens were first class with three sections, a tropical type garden then a formal water section and finally a wonderful prarie meadow. The views over Cheshire were superb and the gardens were outstanding.

Beautiful gardens, the most beautiful variety of plants and flowers. The colours were amazing. Everyone should visit. It looks an amazing wedding venue too.

Wedding venue
Arboretum
Abbeywood Estate, Gardens & Wedding Venue is a picturesque estate nestled in the Delamere countryside. The Great Hall, dating back to the 15th century, is surrounded by stunning gardens including a sunken garden, rose garden, and a landscape garden with a stream. The Glasshouse is an enchanting venue for wedding breakfasts with its abundant natural light. Visitors have praised the onsite florist who creates beautiful displays using flowers from the garden.
The drive from the main road to the car park is a little wobbly due to tree roots under road surface. So drive slowly. The place is not usually open on Fridays and Saturdays, so check before you go. The restaurant is excellent. The setting, the food, the staff and the prices all top notch. The gardens are beautiful and make for a great short walk either before or after your meal or drink. There is a children's play area little away from the restaurant.

We had our wedding at Abbeywood in May 2025 and cannot recommend the venue and staff enough! Firstly, the venue is just stunning. We fell in love with Abbeywood due to the gardens and the glasshouse and they looked even better than we imagined on the day! We had so many compliments from our guests about how beautiful and spacious the grounds were. There are so many different areas to host the ceremony and drinks reception you really are spoilt for choice. The flowers are so beautiful and make excellent backdrops for photos. Secondly, the staff on the wedding day were great. Jessica was our wedding coordinator and she was just brilliant. We couldn’t have asked for a more proactive, calm and friendly person to deal with. In the run up to the day and on the wedding day, nothing was too much trouble for Jessica and she was so reliable and organised. The weather forecast was all over the place in the run up to our day and Jessica gave us great advice about how to plan around all weathers and dealt with everything with a smile. We also arranged lots of decor to put out on the wedding morning and the team did a brilliant job of this and made sure we had time to look around and make final checks before all the guests arrived. We had our wedding party stay over in the hotel accommodation with breakfast the morning after the wedding and this was a lovely touch. The Abbeywood team made us feel really at home and didn’t rush us off. The beauty of Abbeywood is that whilst the venue is truly stunning, the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Our day was really special and we’re so grateful to Jessica and the team for everyone’s hard work!

Had very tasty lunch, then decided to walk the gardens but ar £6 each thought very over priced. Gardens are small and I think if you have eaten it would be fairer to be allowed into the gardens, even if just the one by the cafe.

We went to the cafe for a family lunch. (Pre-booked afternoon tea). It was a very idyllic setting with a stately charm. The food was delicious and the service excellent.

Every visit to this lovely restaurant has been really good. The environment is interesting in decor and the acoustics are very good and you can enjoy your own table conversation without noise interruptions from other tables. The service is very good and the food is of a very high standard. Highly recommend.

One of our favourite places to eat. The food is amazing. Service is always great plus, being dog friendly. We have never been disappointed. Would highly recommend. Beautiful place and lovely garden backing onto a horse field.

I came to The Fishpool Inn for the first time today and i had an amazing time! I had 3 courses, the prawn starter, the butter chicken curry and sticky toffee pudding. My partner had the pork belly starter, sirloin steak (cooked MR) and also a sticky toffee pudding. all of the food was amazing, especially the main courses! we couldn’t flaw the quality of food and it was all worth the price! the service was also very prompt and we weren’t waiting long between courses. our servier leigha was also very polite and efficient, thank you! we will definitely come again😊

2ND JULY 2025 ‘Wandering Wednesday’ was back on track today after a number of hurdles over the past few weeks, Neil’s birthday, our Anniversary, Neil covering a shift and me being poorly last week. So today Hubby Neil and I took a good Wander out on the beaten track towards Delamere, to a beautiful pub called ‘The Fishpool Inn’, just off a main road and sat in a lovely pub garden area….. the pub inside was spotless and tastefully decorated. All staff were very polite and were smartly dressed in black attire. The layout of the pub where we were sat was horse based, which was right up my street, some of the tables were set out on old cast iron horse stalls, very impressive…. Bridles on the walls, along with past Polo players and polo mallets…. We both went straight to entrée…. A Lady who worked at IKEA many moons ago recommended us to go there…. Janet Hughes….. it didn’t disappoint…. Thank you Jan…. So on that note we both went for the fish and chips…. With proper soaked overnight mushy peas and homemade tartare sauce, plus a round of bread and butter each. All of the food was beautiful and piping hot, you could taste the salt of the sea in the haddock….. portion sizes were reasonable and not too over facing. Would we go back….. Definitely 100% Plus it’s a lovely drive out in our Cheshire countryside on a beautiful day as today, seeing some of the old houses and farm houses along the way, they were stunning! All in all…. A Grand Day out xxx❤️

If I could give 4.5 stars then this would have been my rating. We arrived late Easter Sunday afternoon. The place looked spectacular in the sunshine 🤩 , both outside and in. Ample parking onsite 👍. I had the best steak and mushroom pie, with handmade chips, garden peas and a beautiful dark rich gravy 👌. We had the mini crispy chicken tacos to start . The service was excellent, always with a smile 😁. It's certainly one to put on your list 💪 Highly recommended 🥳

This is must be one of the best local pubs. First visit great impression a warm welcome on arrival. Lovely atmosphere, staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious best fish and chips I have had for a while. The gardens are lovely and well kept looks like it would be a great place to sit out and enjoy unfortunately was cloudy today. Would definitely recommend a visit if in the area.

This was a supremely good experience. We had dinner for five, including two children. Service was exceptional - discreet, attentive. The food was first class. The atmosphere here makes it really stand out - no intrusive music, lovely setting, and a really calm and efficient kitchen in full view of the dining room. We were so impressed that we are returning again for Sunday lunch. Strongly recommended.

What a lovely place to visit. You are given such a friendly welcome at the restaurant front of house and told the name of the person who will be waiting on at your table. Sunday lunch was excellent. Lots of gluten-free options available. There is a really nice atmosphere and everything is spotlessly clean. The seating area outside is great and the gardens are so well maintained. The restaurant has its own car park and there is easy wheelchair access.
