Park
Curry Hammock State Park, located in Marathon, FL, spans both sides of Crawl Key in the Florida Keys. The park offers a variety of activities such as camping, fishing, kayaking, and hiking trails amidst wetlands and seagrass beds. It features a 28-site campground with oceanfront views and amenities for both tent and RV campers. Visitors can also enjoy coastal camping and kiteboarding at this 1,000-acre park.
What a lovely place to walk around. We saw some amazing animals & beautiful birds. Some good practical advice would be to make sure you download the map, carry plenty of water & bug spray. Well worth a visit!

Very nice park with a beach and kayaks/paddle board rentals available. The sand bar is relatively close where all the boats and PWCs stop and you can easily swim to kayak there. The island across from the park is super nice as well with a bunch of palm trees and coconuts.

They do charge by person and not by car. This park is on the smaller side, but they do have bathroom, one shelter and swings. They beach area I wouldn’t recommend for families with kids as it was hard to go up and down for the dune area. The view was beautiful and we saw a few crabs. Compared to other parks I would recommend for kayaking or to walk in the trails. But not for a beach day.
Yadira — Google review
It's a pretty place to visit. But the beach had a lot of the sargassum grass all over it. We arrived at low tide so getting in the water and walking way out was not an option. We'd tried to rent kayaks but the QR code did not work and there was no attendant available. We watched the surf boarders and sat in the sun w some shade from a clump of small trees.
Kathy N — Google review
Almost 5 star review if they had full hookup. Enjoyed our stay riding bicycles, beach, watching wind surfers, very well maintained central shower facilities, would stay again. Warning the ants are incessant, first park in 2 years invaded our rv after every rain, which was frequent. No see ums bring your bug spray. Love the foliage between most all rv lots, privacy one of best parks we’ve stayed!!!!
H. Y — Google review
Very quiet and a nice retreat from the busy city work life. Park is well-maintained and very clean. Camp grounds are by reservation and gate code is necessary to enter and exit. RVs and tent campers welcomed.
Jasmine C — Google review
Such an amazing place to relax and refresh. We were fortunate to be there during Hawk Watch 2025 and learned a load of information about migrating raptors.
Drew M — Google review
This park is wonderful to camp in. Well spaced camp sites, clean facilities and a nice beach to relax at. It is really nice for day use as well. Marathon is one of my favorite keys and is easy to explore by bike from this park. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. W

If you're seeking an unforgettable adventure in the Florida Keys, look no further than Marathon Kayaking & Paddleboarding. This fantastic experience allows you to explore the serene waters while fishing for mangrove snapper and barracuda around deserted islands. With convenient trips departing from Tavernier Creek, they provide all necessary gear and even offer free delivery and pick-up services.
Had a wonderful time today on an Eco Tour through the Mangroves with our guides Jake and Mary. The tour was beautiful, relaxing, not too strenuous and our guides were friendly, laid back and made sure everyone enjoyed themselves. The meet-up point at Sombrero beach was easy to find and was also a great place to hang and relax after kayaking. Highly recommend booking with these guys. You’ll have a great time.
Jonathan H — Google review
What a great adventure, we had so much fun. Dion, our guide, was great fun! We saw jelly fish , fish, crabs, birds...got to hold the jelly fish, tried catching the crabs which put our daughters in crash mode into the mangroves ...more laughter . Will definitely do this again and highly recommend to anyone and ask for Dion, he was very informative and helpful!

John has been an amazing tour guide! Have brought quite a few friends through with him when visiting marathon! Always knowledgeable and great adventures!

We did not have reservations ahead of time. John was accommodation and professional. We kayaked on our own; took our time. He gave us directions to the mangrove site. It was super relaxing! Great time, great company! KEYKAYAK (No "S") Definately have returning customers!

We had a blast! It was the best part of my spring stay in Marathon. Our kids ages 3 and 7 had fun too! I was nervous about our first time kayaking with kids, but they rode with our guide Tim and they were fine. Well my 3 year old at one point decided to switch seats to have better view... I found it easy to row for me as a first time , but it is harder to navigate through the mangrove.
Svetlana M — Google review
John was amazing. He took our group of 4 out to the mangroves. For a few hour track. We actually went longer then usual I believe as he was very informative and knows his way around that maze rather well. While in one of the bigger openings in the forks another tour came through and that guide knew John. He had said John trained him and taught him everything he knows about this mangrove forest so if you go with John your getting the best!!

Highlight of our Keys trip! Let me start by saying my family of 6 and I have never been on a Kayak before. Our guide John was patient with us and taught us how to handle our kayaks like pros. The kids loved seeing all the fish, dolphins and we got lucky to enough to see a manatee. We will be back for sure and John better be there!

Second year going in vacation. Love the place, the food and everything you can do.

This area is so interesting to walk through. You get to visit and see areas that, otherwise, you would probably never see. It made me think of how the first Spanish explorers may have felt when they first arrived in this country.

A Deep Blue Scuba Diving & Snorkeling Center is located in the Florida Keys, home to the only live coral reef in the United States. Most of the reef is designated as Sanctuary Preservation Areas, so guided trips are recommended for safety and conservation purposes. Visitors can join tours with various recreation outfits to explore the Florida National Marine Sanctuary, which boasts vibrant coral reefs and excellent visibility.
We stopped at a deep blue scuba diving and snorkeling center today and was absolutely delighted. The owner was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We cannot wait to go diving with them. If you are looking to go snorkeling or scuba diving at the reefs, look no further, this is your shop to stop at!!!😎🤙🏼

My son and I did 10, 2 tank dives over 3 days, and my wife and son did their open water certifications. We had a great time! Captain Mike, Joseph, Instructor Justin, Grumpy Old Man Bob (who is really a teddy bear), and the whole rest of the crew, were all just amazing! Big shout out to Bob and Justin who got my wife through her fears of diving and equipment malfunctions on top of it. Can't recommend them enough. From beginning divers to experienced drivers. They have the experience to go to the best spots, and keep it interesting, even over multiple days, and varying water conditions. I can't wait to come back and dive with them again.

Paid for the July 4th sunset/fireworks cruise. Great experience! Well worth the money. Captain Mike and his wife were perfect hosts, and Leslie was a top notch First Mate! Highly recommend this company. Check out all of the activities on the website. Communication was spot on.

Nice dive center right in Key Colony. Dove the Thunderbolt with my kids and a buddy. We did a charter with Admiral Bob and Dive master Mike. Great people. It was my daughter's first deep dive and they were great about it. Very safety conscious which made me feel good. Would definitely dive with them again.

My husband and I booked an afternoon snorkeling trip with deep blue diving. All of the staff displayed impeccable water sports skills, knowledge and flawless customer service. Our captain Bob, and two other staff members on board did everything to make sure we were comfortable and happy. When I went into the water(first time snorkeling for me) I had a hard time breathing and getting myself together to enjoy the experience. The crew were so amazing, knew exactly what to do and did everything in their power to reassure me so that I can have the best experience I could get. Only best recommendations!!
Julia W — Google review
Not sure about diving or snorkeling, but sunset cruise is a scam. Guy showed up late, said he’d been sleeping before and someone woke him up to do this (it was 6:30pm). They promised wine and beer. There was corona and very cheap wine. No where comfortable to sit because it was a scuba diving boat. THEN, the boat broke down in the middle of the ocean. We watched the two guys try to fix it for an hour until they finally got it back up and running and took us back. The owner then refused to give us our money back because he claimed the service had been given - aka we received a “sunset cruise”. Even without the boat breaking down, the trip is NOT worth $75 a person, they’re scamming people. They also brought us out to a fish sanctuary where they leaked oil into the ocean where the fish were while trying to fix the boat. Just a scuba company that thought adding a “sunset cruise” to their list of services would make them a few more bucks.

Nice experience! We rented kayaks at a great price, and were provided with great service

NO CALL NO SHOWED US. Went in person on Saturday to ask about options. A gentleman talked us through and we decided on snorkeling. We filled out a form for 2 of us, paying for a 3rd ghost rider to hit his minimum. We agreed for 1230 for the next day, Sunday, and he said to get there around 12. We get there at 12, told all the other captains what we were there for. 12:40 rolls around and someone finally tells us that he isn't going to show up. Supposedly he told someone else it was too murky and that he'd call us but he never did. He had my phone number and email. Extremely frustrating considering we double checked everything with him and were looking forward to an afternoon out on the water. We were lucky the parasailing team was able to accommodate us so the trip to the dock wasn't a waste. Be cautious when booking. Supposedly he does this to people pretty often.

BEST boutique in the keys!!! Stayed in Key Colony, but hadn’t yet stopped by. Was bummed that I hadn’t found any fab earrings yet, two days before leaving. Stopped in 10 min before close and WOWZERS. The shop windows don’t do justice to the variety of the items available inside. Will be ordering from them online!! 🤩

Great boutique. Very unique pieces and upscale brands. Nice mix of home and fashion. My boyfriend and I stopped in this afternoon and we both enjoyed our time. Nice selection of Men’s items and beer offered to him, so the ladies could enjoy their time. We both walked away with items we will wear frequently. The service was polite and attentive. What a gem in Marthon/key colony beach, I wish I would’ve come sooner!

I walked up to this boutique from the home I’m renting and I’m so glad I did. The owner was amazing. I took my time, and looked comfortably at all this gem has to offer. She was very attentive, but thankfully not overly so! I enjoyed my time to myself and found so many bobbles and items of my liking. They wrapped my treasures in tissue and tied it and I was easily able to carry them on my stroll back to my vacation home away from home. I hope to stop again.

So fun! Plan to spend more than a few minutes in here because they have so many great items to see! Everything is beautiful AND affordable. Lots of great clothes, pretty dresses, jewelry, and so much more. They also have tropical decor that is priced really well! I will probably go back before my week vacation is over and will definitely be back again next year. 😁

I can’t say how fabulous the owner and her staff is here. We spent a month in KC and my daughter was truly inspired and welcomed by the owner and her entire staff. We love shopping here for our gifts and cute things that we needed during our stay. They are honest and incredibly helpful. Not to mention their selection is high-quality and really unique. Thank you so much for making some of our favorite shopping memories here at the boutique! 🥰🥰

Sparky's Landing - Fish n Cocktails is a popular waterside hangout in Key Colony Beach, known for its young and vibrant atmosphere that attracts locals and tourists alike. The restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring fresh seafood dishes like West Coast Style Fish Tacos and wood-fired Shrimp & Bacon Pizza, as well as unique cocktails. Situated on a harbor, it provides a quintessential Florida Keys dining experience with occasional entertainment from anglers hooking something from the deck.
We had an unforgettable experience at Sparky’s Landing – Fish n Cocktails! The atmosphere was fun and lively, perfect for unwinding after a great day on the water. The food was absolutely amazing — everything we ordered was packed with flavor, especially the brick oven pizza, which had the perfect crispy crust and bold, delicious toppings. What made it even more special was that we brought in our fresh catch from a fishing trip, and the kitchen prepared it to perfection — fried golden with an incredible homemade tartar sauce that was out of this world. It doesn’t get fresher than that! Great service, excellent drinks, and some of the best food in the Keys. Highly recommend Sparky’s for anyone visiting Marathon. We’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely an amazing experience! Went here last night for our final dinner of our keys trip this year. Our server was great, and so was the food! 3 of our 5 meals were different tuna dishes - all were delicious! We also had a blackened grouper plate and a pizza - so good! Safe to say this place is going on the rotation for our group when we come to Marathon!

Really cool place to eat. The conch fritters were so fresh and the seafood was good quality. The staff was so friendly! The view is beautiful out onto the water and the ventilation is good with the fans so the heat didn’t feel too stifling. Kind staff and a great atmosphere. Would recommend!

Overall great experience! Plenty of parking, great atmosphere, food and drinks. Bartenders Jordan was amazing! The ahi tuna, wood fired pizza and Bloody Mary (homemade mix) were awesome. Nestled at the family-friendly Rainbow Bend Resort, Hideaway Café is a beachfront bistro offering a blend of French and American cuisine. This hidden gem is perfect for special occasions, boasting a romantic atmosphere with the soothing sound of crashing waves. The menu features gourmet options like Beef Wellington, Lamb Chops, Chicken dishes, and various Seafood choices such as Seafood Puttanesca or Seafood Crepes.
Went on Thanksgiving and it was fabulous. They served us a 6 pound whole turkey, along with garlic bread, peas w/pearl onions, vegetable medley, mashed potatoes and mashed sweet potatoes, stuffing, gravy, and a fantastic cranberry sauce. Service and staff were wonderful.

This restaurant is a true hidden gem—you’d never know it was there, but once you find it, the food alone makes it worth the visit. Everything we tried was delicious, and I’d absolutely come back for the flavors alone. The views of the water are stunning, and the breeze on the deck is unbeatable. That said, the place is in need of some serious TLC. The windows overlooking that beautiful view were dirty, and the building itself could use a deep cleaning and a fresh coat of paint. It’s not fancy, which is fine, but when a place looks unclean, it makes you wonder about the kitchen. I wouldn’t recommend it for a date night or a business lunch—the atmosphere just isn’t there. But if you’re looking for a casual bite with great food and don’t mind a bit of grime, this spot delivers. Hopefully, the owners will invest in some upkeep, because the potential here is huge.

We really enjoyed our breakfast here. The service is outstanding. The view is on the water, and the mimosas were excellent. It was a great way to start the day.

My new favorite spot. I’ve been to a lot of restaurants in Florida, but this beachside gem has skyrocketed to the top of my list. From the moment we walked in, everyone was super friendly and welcoming. The vibe was just right – laid-back yet classy. I ordered just one bottle of wine, but it was the best I've ever had. Absolutely top-notch and perfectly complemented the stunning ocean views. The place itself is remarkable, with an atmosphere that just makes you want to stay and soak it all in. Prices are good. I didn’t find it expensive, but it might be for some people. If you want the full experience, expect around $150 per person, but it's totally worth it. If you’re looking for a fantastic dining experience with great service, amazing wine, and an unbeatable location, this is the spot. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed. My new favorite, hands down!

This is an excellent restaurant for a nice evening and dinner. Our reservations had a mix up but they were very gracious and seated us. I had the catch of the day (Hogfish) which was delicious and my wife had the Shrimp Scampi. Chris our server was very helpful and friendly. Our food was very delicious and very nice presentation. Would highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area.

We’re here in Marathon on our honeymoon and made a stop at The Hideaway Café — a place we’ve been to before and always look forward to. As expected, the food was absolutely delicious. Every dish was cooked perfectly, and the flavors were spot-on. It’s one of those rare places where you know, every time you come, it’s going to be just as good as you remember — if not better. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic, with that special tucked-away charm that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled upon a secret spot. The service was warm and personal — we felt truly taken care of. They even surprised us with a bottle of wine and dessert for our honeymoon, which was such a thoughtful touch and made our night even more memorable. If you’re in the Keys and looking for a consistently amazing meal with a touch of local magic, this is the place.

American restaurant
Havana Jack's Oceanside Restaurant and Bar is a laid-back American spot with an oceanside patio and a tiki bar offering cocktails and live entertainment. The property type is a duplex with 1 story, featuring 2 queen beds, 2 full beds, and 2 bathrooms. It sleeps up to 7 people and spans across 1571 square feet.
We stopped by Havana Jacks Oceanside just for a drink and dessert, and we were pleasantly surprised by the experience. We found seats at the bar without needing a reservation, and the service was quick and friendly. I ordered a custom cocktail off-menu, and the bartender did an excellent job of crafting it. My husband enjoyed browsing the selection of beers and found something he liked. The live music added to the lively atmosphere, with a singer who was very interactive and almost like a karaoke experience. But the highlight of our visit was definitely the dessert - we ordered the fried key lime pie, and it was absolutely delicious! If you're looking for a great spot to grab a drink and satisfy your sweet tooth, Havana Jacks Oceanside is definitely worth checking out.

I visited Havana Jack’s for the first time a little over a week ago. I stopped by for an afternoon snack and had the brioche pretzel bread, and bang bang cauliflower as well as a cucumber margarita. The mustard butter for the pretzel bread was a perfect combination and the margarita paired well. To my understanding, it is a new menu from a new chef. The food was absolutely fresh and delicious. There was also live music which was also nice. I would visit again for sure. The staff were also super friendly and attentive.

Going over the reviews there’s nothing I can say that hasn’t been said before. The vibes and the views of this restaurant are great. We came in for dinner with the family and the service was fantastic. The food took a while to come to the table but absolutely everything we had we enjoyed and was delicious. I do recommend the food 100% , however everything is extremely overpriced. Exp Wings $18 side of potatoes $8 ribeye $60 grouper sandwich $25. We been in the keys different times and I know prices here can be high but this location seemed to be on the higher end. Again everything was delicious and service was good. But prices were high.

We came for dinner tonight and were absolutely delighted to have Iraliz wait on us. I want to start this off by saying it was not our first visit, so we realized the menu had been reprinted and even changed a little. My husband got the fish tacos with the red grouper. The fish was cooked well and tasted good, but we felt the taco was missing some type of sauce so it wasn’t so dry. The salsa was good but chunky. Now this is where Iraliz handled the situation like a true professional. She quickly began to realize obviously my husband wasn’t going to eat anymore of the fish (after she already tried bringing him a sauce to make it less dry) and took it back and had it taken off the bill. We never asked for it nor were we going to because we both work in the industry and hate stressing a server out like that. It wasn’t anyone’s fault - that dish just wasn’t what our palette was looking for. And she went out of her way to make sure we didn’t leave without offering to replace his meal and bring us a dessert. Its servers like Iraliz that will make us want to come back to Havana Jacks - as well as the AMAZING atmosphere provided by the stunning views and caring staff. Thank you Havana Jacks for a lovely night and meal with my family!

Their new chef is wonderful!! Bartenders are great. Highly recommend the oysters, Brussels, calamari - all were very good. Love the way they prepared the calamari- nice to have it different. Been going there for years- this is the best it’s ever been. The location on the oceanfront is ideal, so glad that the place has improved!! Everyone needs to give Havana Jacks a try.

"Sunset Views, Great Server, and a Quesadilla That Could Use a Wingman (aka Sauce). First off — Iraliz R was amazing! Friendly, fast, and had that perfect “Florida Keys vibe” — like someone who could handle a hurricane and still remember your drink order. She was attentive without hovering and genuinely made the meal enjoyable. She deserves a raise, a medal, or at least a lifetime supply of Modelo Especial. Now, the Cuban quesadilla — solid flavor, but it’s kind of like a date who looks great but doesn’t text back… good, but missing something. A dipping sauce or two (mojo, chipotle, garlic lime?) would turn it from “hmm” to “holy Havana!” The view? Absolutely top-tier. Watching the sunset from here is like Mother Nature showing off. The band? Let’s just say they fit the Florida Keys theme — if you’ve been down here before, you know exactly what I mean. My only gripe — the prices are trying to reach the sunset too. Havana Jack’s has all the ingredients to be a home-run Keys hangout if management would add a few more affordable options and care as much as the servers do. I got 1 Cuban quesadilla, two beers, a side of fries and a Coke and our bill was $68. Lol. It's all good, had a good time. Overall: come for the view and vibes, stay for the service, and bring a little extra cash… and maybe your own dipping sauce.

Perfectly situated within a comfortable walking distance from our resort, this local seafood restaurant was exactly the experience I craved. The freshness of the seafood was unmistakable – each bite burst with the clean, briny taste of the ocean. I particularly enjoyed the vibrant and flavorful Rasta Pasta, and the impeccably fresh catch of the day: mahi. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing and charmingly authentic. We enjoyed chill music, outdoor dining beach side with an amazing ocean view. It truly felt like a genuine taste of the local culinary scene, far removed from the typical tourist traps. The service was relaxed and welcoming. I absolutely loved it and would wholeheartedly recommend it to friends and family seeking a delicious and authentic seafood meal. This is a must-try for anyone visiting the area!

S.S. Wreck & Galley Grill is a laid-back, family-owned eatery popular among locals for its inviting atmosphere and delectable cuisine. The restaurant, resembling a casual tiki hut, offers an array of pub favorites with a unique twist such as tuna poke nachos, gator bites, frog legs, and conch fritters. Additionally, patrons can savor classic options like chicken sandwiches, seafood platters, and Surf and Turf.
Matt is the best server I’ve had in a while! He took great care of us- was fun, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu… and brought us ALL the good sauces! The food was amazing! The Ahi Tuna was the best! Will definitely be back!

Wonderful, low key meal at S.S. Wreck. They had live music and amazing entrees. We ordered the ahi tuna appetizer, full rack of ribs, and mild wings (which were very hot!) Finally, we ordered the famous key lime pie & chocolate cake. Although I didn’t try the cake, it looked delicious. However….the key lime pie was absolutely the BEST I’ve ate in the keys. The slice was gigantic, enough for 3 people and the favors were smooth, creamy, and tart. Highly recommended!!! I’d definitely come back for that again!

We enjoyed this place so much we had to come back a second time before we headed home. We had Matt as our server both times. Matt knows his stuff. Definitely take his recommendations! The best Bloody Mary’s around!!! shout out to grill cook steaks were perfect! Can’t say enough about the food! Best key lime pie I have ever tasted!!

Let's start with our server, Stacy. She was GREAT! Best meal we had while being down in the Keys. Not fancy, very casual....and WOW! What a selection. From Salads to frog legs. I had the best buffalo chicken sandwich I've ever had. And when they say hot....the sauce is hot, loved it!!! We will be returning for sure.

A must stop when visiting or passing through Fat Deer Key! Our server Matt was great and made us feel like we had been friends for a long time! The food is all good and plentiful! The cook did a great job on everything we ordered! Parking had some huge potholes but we were in a truck. Saturday night they had live music. We were visiting in October and we went early dinner to make sure we had no wait.

Stayed in the area, and honestly there arent a lot of places to choose from, but man, im glad we tried this place. The staggering was friendly, and the bartender was a trip. Food was some of the best around, and the key lime pie was absolutely the best I had! Priced were reasonable, place was clean. Definitely a local place, but totally worth the pit stop!

Enjoyed my meal... Buffalo chicken salad was delicious and had a generous portion of well cooked chicken. Took home a slice of key lime pie that lived up to the hype. Portion sizes are good and pricing is reasonable for the area. Super nice staff...my waitress Joe was a sweetheart and had a nice conversation with Matt.

The drinks were superb (i.e. strong), food was delish, and service was great (thank you Carlos)! Went for Sunday Brunch, not too busy. No kids menu but lots of kid friendly options. Too full for dessert but ordered the ‘Best Key Lime Pie’ to go. If you’re passing thru Marathon or leaving the Dolphin Research Center (next door), then you must stop here!

The Dolphin Research Center, established in 1984, is a non-profit marine mammal education and research facility. It offers various programs and activities for visitors to interact with dolphins, view sea lions, and learn about marine life. The center focuses on research and education but also provides entertaining dolphin shows. Visitors can participate in educational sessions every half hour or choose interactive programs such as swimming with the dolphins.
Absolutely an amazing place. They're small but have a good number of dolphins, they're interactive with visitors, wonderful up close experiences. Highlight of our trip, including souvenir dolphin painted art. Very relaxed, not high pressure, you can tell the trainers love the dolphins. (and sea lions!)
Amy P — Google review
The Dolphin Research Center was absolutely amazing! They have around 26 different dolphins, each with their own personality, and it was so fun getting to learn about them up close. The experience was incredibly informative — you can tell the staff truly love what they do and care deeply for the animals. Everyone we interacted with was so friendly, helpful, and eager to share their knowledge. I’d definitely recommend going first thing when they open so you have plenty of time to explore and enjoy everything without feeling rushed. Such a fun and educational experience — highly recommend!
Melissa H — Google review
Last minute stop for me that turned out to be well worth the time! The dolphins here are well trained and there are several programs throughout the day that offer different types of learning opportunities and chances to see the dolphins doing tricks. I just did general admission and was able to experience a lot, but there are opportunities to meet the dolphins upclose as well!
Chris T — Google review
We did general admission which is $35. There are 27 dolphins to see. We only saw 2 seals and one bird. Bring water! The only vending machine, we could not get it to accept our money. There was a food truck that said open but no one came to the window. There is a water fountain. Very educational! The workers were very friendly and eager to answer questions. There was some kind of program every hour. The dolphins were also just playing and jumping around. If you love dolphins, I highly recommend this place. You can pay extra to interact with the dolphins, which we saw a lot of people doing this.
Christy B — Google review
We have been to the keys many times and for some reason never visited here. We LOVED IT! Man those dolphins are cool. RANGER WAS THE SWEETEST!! All the staff were very friendly and helpful too. We had a great time.
Jeffrey L — Google review
Very Disappointing Experience! We drove over 3 hours from and back to Miami on the same day of our flight, excited to give our kids what we thought would be an unforgettable, magical dolphin experience. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the exact opposite. We booked the Dolphin Splash session and paid $450 for three people, since adults are required to be in the water with their child — you can’t simply watch from the deck. The session was supposed to last 20 minutes, but we soon realized that two other families were part of the same session. It was not private as we expected. You’re also not allowed to bring your phone or camera near the deck, so the only photos you can get are taken by their photographer at $20 per picture — another disappointment. But the real issue was the condition of the water. It was extremely dirty and murky, with a terrible smell. You couldn’t see anything below the surface — only the parts of your body and the dolphins that were above the water. It felt completely unsanitary, but since the tickets were non-refundable, we had no choice but to continue. We ended up sharing the 20-minute session with the other families, taking brief turns interacting with the dolphins in this unpleasant environment. Overall, this was a huge disappointment — a waste of time and money. I would not recommend this experience to anyone. Update, This is and update to Reply on your response , Thanks for the reply but regarding that your team is there to help making choices, we did ask on the front desk if each of us will have his own 20minute session or all three of us will be in the same session together because after all it is 3 tickets and they said that we will be together in the same session and didn’t mention that other families will be there too!! About the deck being cleaned.. absolutely no!! The stairs we were so slippery that one lady from the other family slipped on her way down and they caught her even my kid slipped on his way down it looked like it haven’t been scrapped in years!! The trainer her self suggested to just sit down on the deck and jump in water instead of using the stairs!! I understand that water is part of the ecosystem but the minimum amount of maintenance and cleaning is supposed to take place for the sake of guests’ and Dolphins’ safety as well. Before the session they brought a broom and tried to scrap some of the algae off the stairs and the underwater deck but it was so much that they couldn’t.. about the photographer if it was for the safety of guests and dolphins then it should be included in the package not to be sold by picture !! Also no one told us it was for a separate fee until we asked !!

The dolphin research center was an really great and worth experience. A lot of rescue animals and an awesome crew. Main focus is to take care of the animals. The staff is awesome as well. We got a lot to see during the hourly activities which are free to join, like an „How is the life as an trainer for dolphins, etc.

Keys Cable Park is a unique and innovative wakeboarding destination that offers an independently operated, 2-point cable system. Unlike traditional systems, this park pulls one rider at a time between two points, creating a continuous back and forth motion. The founder's efforts to start the park also included composting initiatives and creating gardens around the property. In addition to wakeboarding, visitors can try kiteboarding and foilboarding, with reservations and lessons available.
A little hidden gem on grassy key!! Such a fun experience for my granddaughter birthday!! Her first time wakeboarding it won't be her last!! Staff was amazing!! Great little tiki bar and gardens for pop pop !! Extreme water park vibes!! A must do

I learned to wakeboard here, and with Topher's guidance, I was able to hit the ramps after just 3 sessions! Topher is a great instructor and the wake park is so fun. They offer great lunch, a ton of great beers on draft and a cute shop. 10/10!
Grace W — Google review
What an absolute blast! If you have never been to a cable park, you have to try it out. WAY easier than behind a boat. This one is in a deep saltwater lake that was a rock quarry at some point. The cable runs one direction then reverses while you make the turn. I haven't been on a wakeboard in at least 2 years and was able to pull it off no problem (most of the time). There are jumps and rails if you dare. Staff here was great and the property is setup pretty nice. Outdoor shower to wash the salt off, bar with cafe style food. Had a cold beer while drying off in the warm winter sun. This place was a home run.
Brian S — Google review
Actual waterpark activity is fun but boy did the guy working at the front desk ruin our vibe. So unpleasant and unhelpful, makes you not want to spend your money at the store! Bartenders and food section was lovely and kids had fun on the bounce park but man that kid needs a lesson in customer service! Not very keys-friendly.
Amanda M — Google review
Been wakeboarding here with my 10 year old for quite some time now. They have a nice bar and good food, The cable park is a little small but fun. Staff is always amazing and helpful, There is plenty to do for kids besides the cable park, there's a beginner side and a more advanced side with ramps, bunks and more, good place to start out or practice some jumps and tricks highly recommend

Bongo's Botanical Beer Garden and Cafe, named after the owner's beloved dog, offers a great dining experience with a wide selection of beers on tap. Located in Marathon just off -1, this hidden gem is nestled within a botanical garden, providing a delightful atmosphere for visitors. The friendly bartenders are known for their warm hospitality and extensive knowledge of the beer selection. Guests can savor the estate-grown coconut fuerte, served in its shell with rum and pineapple juice.
Excellent place for breakfast or brunch (or any meal). Had steak and eggs, which was absolutely flawless. The kombucha on draft was crisp and refreshing. The staff were very friendly and laid back, with no bad attitudes anywhere in sight. The art on the buildings is amazing…all done with SPRAY PAINT! This place oozes character and charm. Highly recommended for a chill vibe, excellent food, many beers on tap, and just a really good time.

Bongos Beer Garden is a true hidden gem in the Keys, and I’m so glad we stumbled upon it! From the moment we walked in, the laid-back atmosphere and great music made it the perfect place to unwind. It has that ideal Florida Keys vibe — casual, welcoming, and full of character. The food here blew me away. The quinoa salad was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had — super fresh with bold flavors, and the candied walnuts gave it that perfect sweet crunch. I also loved the tuna bowl; it was packed with fresh ingredients, and the edamame added a great texture and flavor balance. What really set this place apart was the fun family-friendly setup — they had a floating water pad for kids to play on, which was such a cool touch. We even got to watch people wakeboarding nearby, adding to the laid-back, adventurous energy of the whole place. Whether you’re looking for a spot to chill with friends, entertain the family, or just enjoy some really great food in a cool setting, Bongos delivers. It quickly became my favorite spot in the Keys, and we can’t wait to come back again soon!

This place is a gem, tucked a bit out of the way but with everything you’d want. One of the few spots to eat in the area, yet it doesn’t take advantage of that and delivers a memorable experience. Peaceful outdoor seating, super chill ambiance, friendly staff, and very good, filling food. Loved it!

Located in Duck Key, Angler & Ale is a laid-back yet lively favorite among visitors. The restaurant offers a romantic seaside dining experience with perfectly prepared fresh catches and scenic vistas. Guests can also enjoy outdoor activities such as kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding along serene channels, beneath bridges, and among exotic mangrove forests surrounding Toms Island. Additionally, the area provides opportunities to explore the only living coral barrier reef in the continental U.S.
This is a wonderful spot for casual dining near Islamorada. The atmosphere is super relaxed, and the location right by the water makes it even more special. It’s the perfect place if you’re looking for a quiet meal with a beautiful view. The food is really tasty and fresh, exactly what you would want from a laid-back coastal restaurant. The menu has a nice variety without being overwhelming, and the portions are just right. Sitting by the water, enjoying the calm surroundings and the gentle breeze, made the experience even better. It’s the kind of place where you can truly unwind and enjoy good food without any rush. I definitely recommend it if you’re in the area and want a peaceful and delicious meal by the water.

The food is fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared—from savory classics to creative specials. The portions are generous, and the vibe is exactly what you want on a slow, sunny morning by the water. Add in friendly service and a laid-back atmosphere, and it’s easy to see why this has become the go-to brunch spot. Highly recommend making it a weekend tradition!

The food was good. Blackened grouper was good, though 1 filet was undercooked and slimy inside. My husband's tuna nachos were OK, he loved the tuna. The outdoor seating has an awesome view, looking East, so don't go there for a sunset dinner. Our server was wonderful. We are celebrating on our honeymoon and she was happy for us.
