It features an area for dogs and an arena which they use for various events. It is also a nice place to do sports such as running, as it has a beautiful path that runs along the river on one side and the park and the outskirts of Folignate on the other. Inside the park there is a small stream which acts as a habitat for turtles and otters which are a splendid attraction for the little ones but also for the older ones. It is common to see families bringing food to these little water inhabitants. Step into the ancient atmosphere of Porta Cannara, an old gate that leads you into a bygone era. As you wander through the cobbled streets, you'll come across Chiesa di San Francesco, boasting a simple exterior but housing impressive works of art inside. The remnants of ancient Roman Baths and a stunning mosaic pavement depicting sea creatures await near the cardo maximus. Despite ongoing renovations, the gate and square still offer a warm welcome to visitors.

Torre di Montefalco (Foligno)

Torre di Montefalco, a charming border tower nestled in a picturesque village, is an unexpected gem discovered during a cycling adventure from Abruzzo to Modena. Surrounded by serene rivers and quaint bridges, this spot offers stunning views and serves as an ideal rest stop along the Spoleto-Assisi cycle path. The area invites leisurely walks amidst its captivating natural landscape, although visitors may find the lack of on-site information about the monument somewhat disappointing.

Santuario Madonna dei Bagni is a small sanctuary located on the road from Perugia to Todi, near Deruta in the town of Casalina. It has been a mystical place where locals have entrusted their prayers and received graces for centuries. The sanctuary is adorned with ceramic tiles depicting stylized events from the lives of devotees. This Marian sanctuary holds great significance in the area and is equipped for communion and confirmation retreats.
Well worth a visit 😊 The sanctuary has over 800 ceramic tiles on the walls. Some are simple, some include a long message. They all give thanks for the grace received (PGR) I used Google translate to read the longer messages. I found it to be such a peaceful, inspiring experience. This is an incredible display of gratitude for miracles of protection through terrible events such as car crashes, earthquakes, ceilings collapsing and even war. An outpouring of love of a community that I have not seen in visits anywhere else!

(Translated by Google) Nice sanctuary as a place, it's a shame that I wasn't able to visit it properly from the inside as there was mass at 6pm on public holidays. Annoyance arises from the fact that having arrived at 5.30pm (half an hour early for mass) there was already a prayer vigil underway before the celebration, which 30 minutes earlier seems like an excessive amount of time to me. (Original) Santuario carino come luogo , peccato che non abbia potuto visitarlo bene dall' interno in quanto giorni festivo vi era la messa ore 18:00. (Translated by Google) It is worth arriving here by car, ten minutes from the center of Deruta, to visit this small but very particular church. It is actually part of a sanctuary, built in the 17th century. next to a source of sulphurous water. It is accessed via a side entrance and not via the red brick staircase. You are struck by the 800 ex-face tiles in Deruta majolica that cover the walls, everywhere! Some are ancient, others from today. By reading some of them you understand the legend from which this sanctuary was born and you can still see the first piece of majolica from which everything was born (again according to the legend)! Advised! Consigliato!

Le Barbatelle Wine Bar is an outstanding enoteca that offers a remarkable selection of wines, delectable cuisine, and exceptional service. The establishment takes pride in using fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients to prepare their dishes with care. One standout dish is the bean soup, which is described as incredibly delicious. The eggplant Parmesan stands out for its use of fresh mozzarella and tomatoes instead of heavy breading and thick tomato sauce.
Sweet little spot in Bevagna with great food & friendly team.

Stopped in for lunch, inside was busy but we took a table in the shaded patio area. Having been eating in Umbria for a few weeks it was nice to see a menu with a lot of vegetables: nice salad, vegetable frittata with side salad, also egg with summer truffle. Service seemed a bit off, but may have just been overly busy and them sorting out their new location.

Delicious food! Very, very nice service, though they still need some more education, but they're very talented at putting customers at ease. I enjoyed lunch very much. The seats are a bit narrow, but all in all I found it a great experience. And, they realized a special diet lunch for my friend, which is also a big plus. Thanks Jen and your wonderfully kind staff. Keep up the good work!

This is a great little wine bar (enoteca) not only for the selection of wines but also for the food and friendly service! It’s very obvious that the ingredients are seasonal, local, fresh and lovingly prepared. Probably the most delicious bean soup (one of today’s Specials) I have ever tasted. My husband ordered the eggplant Parmesan and rather than being heavily breaded, fried and swimming in thick tomato sauce, it was made with fresh mozzarella and fresh tomatoes and it was incredible. An added bonus were the outdoor tables. We will be back for sure!

Taverna Rione Spada, also known as Taverna delle Conce, is a charming and evocative dining spot in Foligno. The ambiance is set by candlelight with wooden tables and earthenware plates, creating a historical and traditional atmosphere. The staff, dressed in themed attire, provides impeccable service. Guests are treated to delicious traditional Umbrian dishes paired with local wines.

(Translated by Google) A historic event takes place in Foligno with a chivalric tournament: the Quintana. With the start of this event the taverns also open, each district has its own. We decided to go to the tavern of the Spada district, also known as the Taverna delle Conce, where we could taste traditional Umbrian dishes accompanied by wine. The environment is very suggestive, wooden tables, earthenware plates, with tables lit by candles. Even the waiters are dressed in theme. We took: - Spread with beard and sage - Medici lombello with figs and restriction of verjuice (competitive dish for banquets) - Sunflowers stuffed with braised meat with kitchen bottom - Chianina morsels with plums, cinnamon, orange and ginger - Tozzetti with Vin Santo - Yellow-black tart: with ricotta, hazelnut cream and chocolate chips Personally, it was generally a good experience, especially the barbozza and the Tozzetti are the two dishes that impressed me the most. The morsels are special as they remain a mix of sweet, savory and citrusy. I wasn't convinced only by the tart and the other slightly negative note was the quantity/price. For the rest, I recommend going to the taverns even just for the various events and games, the atmosphere created is truly magical.

I Morti Di Fame is a delightful dining spot that offers an impressive array of seafood dishes, making it a perfect choice for lunch or dinner. Guests rave about the recommended menu, which features beautifully presented cold and hot appetizers—especially the latter, which are particularly well-received. The homemade pasta options like gnocchi and cutter are also highlights of the meal.

(Translated by Google) The luxury of giving up the stylistic features of the scenographic apparatus surrounding haute cuisine and of continuing to essentially do it but without having the air of it, and without the atmosphere of a sung mass that often accompanies it. This is it Marco's bet who deserves to win big because his hand and his flavors are super. And then happily traveling between pizzas and pastas made strictly by hand, we start with the fish which reigns supreme with shellfish and oysters and then continues with scampi (wonderful), tuna and swordfish. To finish with a splendid filleted sea bream with olives and cherry tomatoes. All these delights are available according to daily availability (a condition that dictates the rules). Wine list to be expanded. A restaurant that was a real discovery is definitely worth a visit. I highly recommend it but book first and speak to Marco.

(Translated by Google) Excellent fish lunch, we chose the recommended menu, cold and hot appetizers tastefully presented, especially the hot ones were good. The first courses were really good, both the homemade cutter and the gnocchi, unfortunately I cannot give an opinion on the second course (mixed grill) as we stopped after the mixed fry (nice dish). Normal waiting times to eat freshly made food. After many months I returned for a dinner with friends (27.09.2019). Raw seafood dinner booked, truly a nice meal of natural flavours, beautiful to look at, delicious and plentiful, several courses, really worth going, the kind staff, constant presence by chef Marco. It's been years since I ate raw food (always at the seaside) but I don't think I've ever eaten it so fresh and good, truly compliments.

(Translated by Google) *READ ALL* for now I give 2 stars for the following reason: I asked for a large vegetarian starter but the waiter told me that it was not possible to make this variation. I later saw that they brought this famous large appetizer to another table: there were cold cuts, cheeses, croutons, fried foods and 3 small bowls containing I don't know what. I think it wouldn't have been particularly difficult to remove the cold cuts, "fix" the croutons, leave the cheeses and add some mozzarella with some grilled vegetables. I find it sincerely absurd in 2018 that a place still finds itself confused when faced with alternative requests, but I think it depended more than anything on the waiter so I will renew my request every time I return here :) I had a good buffalo caprese and an equally good caramel panna cotta. place to try because they serve quite generous dishes and according to other diners the fish was delicious !!UPDATE!! I went back after 2 years and without wanting to, I asked for the same large vegetarian starter. this time I found a waitress who didn't bat an eyelid and shortly after brought me the cutting board you see in the photo. the chef even came to me to see if everything was ok.. and it was (as you can see from the second image😀)!

San Gaspare Restaurant is more than just a dining spot; it's a unique mountain refuge located at 1,099 meters above sea level in Monti Martani. The restaurant offers stunning views of the Assisi valley and surrounding mountains, making it an ideal place to immerse yourself in the beauty of Umbria. The rustic atmosphere adds to the authenticity of the experience, with traditional Umbrian flatbread baked in a large fireplace and served with ham and other meats.
Only one person knew English, but overall a very good food experience, with a very authentic Italian atmosphere. Recommend that you order plates of food so that everyone can get a taste of everything.

Pet boarding service
Nestled in the serene surroundings of Collazzone, Italy, Dog's Club Umbria offers a perfect retreat for furry companions. The club provides a healthy and spacious environment for dogs to enjoy their time away from home. With large fields for play and ample outdoor space, it ensures that dogs have a great time while their owners are away.
We are very happy with Fabio and the service he provides. To gauge how well our dog, Bianca, likes her stay at the Dog Club she comes back very happy. What better way to know that Fabio does a great job. He is flexible and his pricing is very reasonable. His location is set in the natural countryside which is an added benefit to pets who need the space to run and play. We definitely recommend Dog's Club for all of your pet accommodation needs.

This is a lovely place. Lots of green and space for the dogs. Fabio knows what he’s doing so you can trust to leave your pet with him. Our dog doesn’t like other dogs much so he plays with her alone if there are none she likes. She has arthritis so needs heating at night which is available. He’s always sending us photos via WhatsApp so we know she’s having a good time.

Porta Fratta o Amerina

4.4
(14)
Historical landmark
Porta Fratta, also referred to as Porta Amerina, is a stunning gateway that dates back to the 14th century and serves as one of the most captivating entrances to Todi. Nestled within the medieval outer walls that encircle this charming Umbrian city, it offers visitors a glimpse into Todi's rich historical tapestry. The name "Amerina" pays homage to the ancient road linking Todi with Amelia, highlighting its significance in regional connectivity over time.
(Translated by Google) The Porta Fratta, also known as Porta Amerina, is one of the most fascinating and ancient monumental entrances to the city of Todi. Located along the Roman and medieval walls, it represents an important fragment of the historical past of this Umbrian city, testifying to its strategic role and its evolution over the centuries. The name "Amerina" derives from the road that connected Todi to Amelia, one of the oldest communication routes in the region. This gate, therefore, was not only a defensive access, but also a crucial point for trade and exchanges between the two Umbrian centres. The imposing structure presents itself today with its original sobriety and solidity, typical of Roman buildings, further reinforced in the medieval era to adapt to new war needs. The stone arch, austere and perfectly preserved, is an example of the engineering skill of the builders of the time. One of the most interesting features of Porta Fratta is its connection with the underground network of tunnels and cisterns that characterizes Todi. These secret passages were used both for defensive purposes and for water supplies, confirming the advanced level of Todi's urban planning. Walking through the Porta Amerina means immersing yourself in an atmosphere full of history. It is said that this access was one of the favorites for processions and official parades, so much so that even today its majesty seems to recall the splendor of ancient Todi. I recommend visiting the Porta Fratta combined with a walk along the city walls, perhaps in the morning or at sunset, when the soft light enhances the beauty of the stones and the surrounding countryside. In the surrounding area you can discover picturesque corners and spectacular views of the Tiber valley, perfect for a contemplative stop or for taking memorable photographs. Todi, with its doors and walls, continues to tell its glorious past to anyone who approaches with curiosity and attention. (If you liked my review click ❤️. Thank you! Grazie! 🙏🏻😊)

We thought this would have more Roman artifacts than it did based on the website. The woman selling tickets was perfectly pleasant, but this museum had little to offer for the price of the ticket. Plus it was super hot inside—we could barely look around the top two floors because there was no air conditioning. Unimpressive exhibit in a sweltering building.

Words can’t describe how incredible this restaurant is. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the food is excellent and perfect in all aspects, and the view of the church while dining was enchanting. Can’t wait to dine here again!

I went to the next door wine bar 18 enoteca posti. It's super cool. Really worth hiding out in and drinking fabulous wine. Check out the wine from the region and the nibbles.

We went for a pre-dinner drink and snack. Lovely, friendly staff. We enjoyed the local white wine & the most delicious Parmigiana Di Melanzane. I would go back (again & again !) for the eggplant parmigiana, it was absolutely delicious ! Gluten free and vegan friendly ! Sorry no photo :-(

Overall: not go again. We must have caught them on a bad day! Cant believe the good reviews. Food: terrible. Bread rock hard. Brasola was dry and hard. Cheese they got away with but was still nothing to brag about. Beverage: wine white was strong vinegary- not like the Umbria wine we had the day before- golden. Staff: sweet lady. Service: nice and friendly lady Dogs: yes as outdoors Atmosphere: we came early so noone around but was a nice location with a view. The actual decor was basic - AstroTurf grass Price: for 5 people, apertivo, 3 glasses of wine and an apero spritz = EUR60. (Our taste buds: Western minds, Eastern hearts and stomachs!)

Great location and wine selection but unfortunately the service cannot keep up with the rest. Front of the house is not trained and quite unprofessional. Unexpressed potential.

Al Leone Snc Di Menghella Leonardo E Migani Claudia is a delightful eatery that offers an array of locally sourced and flavorful cuisine, making it an ideal choice for families or couples seeking a satisfying dining experience. The antipasti selection impresses with its abundance of salami, cheese, and bread. The main courses are generous in portion size, often resulting in leftovers that can be conveniently packaged for later enjoyment.
This place is phenomenal, a low key hidden gem in Umbria. The woman managing/hostess was so kind, you can tell they really care about customers. The pizza and pasta are great, and far better than the pizza we had in Rome. Pana Cotta was surprisingly light and delicious. We came for lunch and dinner it was that good! They can get very busy, so just come and enjoy your meal, great service and local people watching. If you are visiting the area this is a must try.

Diamond in the Umbria! Amazing pizza disguises this local haunt from tourists. We had the best time and came back for dinner twice. If you are within driving distance you must visit and the sunset I've the hills is another highlight.

While the staff is friendly, the overall service leaves room for improvement. During my visit, there were instances where items were forgotten and the service itself seemed quite slow. In terms of the food, it didn't meet my expectations. However, if you do decide to dine here, I would suggest sticking to their pizza option, which stood out as the most enjoyable part of the meal.

A wonderful restaurant to eat local and food full of taste, with family or couples. Loved everything that I got there, the antipasti was full with salami, cheese and bread. Their plates were big and I couldn't even finish it but they packed the rest and give it to us. You can also find good and local bio wines. The view is amazing with the sunset 😍 Highly recommended.

The restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with its superb dinners and amazing atmosphere. Visitors have praised not only the quality of the food but also the beauty of the village where it is situated. Serpillo is highly recommended for those looking to enjoy Italian cuisine in a charming setting.
Visited this restaurant while staying at Otello Bello. Excellent appetizers, pastas, steak and desserts paired with local wines! Very highly recommended….

We were really disappointed by Serpillo after it being recommended by a local. The cooking was inconsistent, especially the steaks we ordered. And overall the entire group of us agreed it was not high quality. The courses also came in a very strange order, with some guests getting starters and other receiving their main courses at the same time, it was strange overall and we didn’t have this experience anywhere else in Umbria.

Beautiful place! Wonderful views of the mountains, set in a small Hamlet. Very friendly staff, innovative approach to dishes and some classic. Loved every bit of our meal and our time there. The dessert of strawberry cheesecake mousse with meringue was sublime and we normally skip dessert. But I would get it again !

Delicious food in a lovely and magical place. To come back for sure. You can see the kitchen and how they work. Only negative point: when we dinner there, the toilette had a problem and we prefer not to use it, all the place was wet.
Rossma G — Google review
We have lived in this area of Umbria for a number of years and, for some strange reason, we had never enjoyed a dinner at Serpillo until recently. We have now eaten two superb dinners there. The food is Italian/Umbrian but the Chef, Daniele, has transformed local cuisine into some wonderfully creative dishes. Our first dinner there, we split an antipasto, the Spinach creme topped with a deep fried egg and truffles. WOW, that was wonderful. We split the citrus-infused risotto dish which was topped with burrata formaggio and pistachios. We both ordered the slow-roasted duck. Now, I have to say, my wife and I have eaten all sorts of duck dishes over the years, and this had to be the best duck we've ever had. It was sublime. Dessert did not disappoint: we ordered 2: a chocolate tort with sesame chips and walnut gelatto; a tiramisu with cat-tongue cookies rather than lady fingers. If you're ever in this part of Italy, do yourselves a favor and eat at Serpillo.

(Translated by Google) We stayed at Antico Castagno recently. It is a structure that is well suited to welcoming families. The rooms are in rustic style and very well looked after. The managers, Alessandro and Michela, are simple and genuine people, very helpful. We haven't felt this comfortable in a long time. The location of the farmhouse is strategic for those wishing to visit Spoleto and many other tourist destinations in the area. But let's get to the cuisine offered by Antico Castagno, a real strong point. I am addressing myself above all to lovers of good food. Alessandro, manager and chef of the facility, offers 0 km cuisine, with handmade pasta, homemade and game-based sauces, grilled meat cooked on the grill in the large fireplace in the dining room, platters of excellent local cured meats and cheeses... in short, a true paradise for those who love food and life. Finally, the prices are very honest, like the owners. Aurelio and Laura (Original) Siamo stati all'Antico Castagno di recente. Aurelio e Laura

We stayed nearby and arrived late to check in, so we were lucky to find this restaurant open. It was quiet (we were there in early October), but the service was attentive and helpful, offering great pairing suggestions — occasionally a little assertive, but with good intentions. The beef cheek was excellent, and the wine they recommended ended up being one of the best we had during our trip to Italy. We even came back the next day to buy a bottle to take with us. A little pricey, but worth it.

This place is excellent and I would highly recommend it Sitting on the covered outside patio was very pleasant After a brief stop at the The Scacciadiavoli winery The name Scacciadiavoli dates back to an episode of exorcism in the fourteenth century. The story tells of a young girl possessed by the Devil, whom the exorcist made to drink local wine, thus managing to drive out the Devil. From the great Sagrantino grape, a great grape and a great wine. Sagrantino is a grape variety foubf only in the territory of Montefalco, Bevagna, Gualdo Cattaneo, Castel Ritaldi and Giano dell’Umbria, all in the province of Perugia. Our meal consisted of tomato crostini, tagliatelle fare in casa alla vera “norcina”, a perfectly cooked contrafiletto di vitello all griglia with rosemary all washed down with Scacciadiavolo sagrantino and Spumante Brut

Wine bar
Vinosofia is a charming wine bar run by an American sommelier and her Italian husband. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, with guests seated around the bar chatting with the friendly owner, Brenda. The enoteca offers a delightful selection of local wines and serves small plates of locally sourced food. The extensive wine choices are reasonably priced, and the owner's approachable explanations make the experience enjoyable for all visitors.
The best wine bar we found in Umbria. Great variety of wines, tasty snacks. We had a pleasant conversation with the owner, who told us some interesting details about the wines we tasted. A must-visit place for a wine enthusiast!

Great experience at this wine bar, the products were truly excellent, from the cured meats to the wine. The space is beautifully curated, and the owner was kind and informative, taking the time to explain each product. That said, the price was definitely on the higher side, especially considering the portion size. The platter and glass of wine you see in the photo came to over 30 euros.

Amazing charcuterie board of cold cuts, amazing wine, and amazing people! The lady who welcomed me and recommended me wine was so kind and sweet. Everything was delicious. You should come here for a wine break when you’re in Spello and ask for their wine recommendations 🍷 Thanks for everything!

Heritage museum
Nestled in the charming town of Todi, the Peasant Museum of Todi, established in 1987 by Tersiglio Foglietti as a heartfelt tribute to his late son, offers a captivating glimpse into rural life up until 1950. Visitors can explore authentic peasant house environments filled with antique furnishings and everyday utensils that vividly illustrate the past. Interestingly, this museum is situated on the remnants of a Roman theater from ancient times, which adds an intriguing layer to its historical significance.
(Translated by Google) In the Middle Ages, the houses were built on the foundations of a Roman theater (Teatro Romano I° Secolo D.C.). This can still be seen today in the satellite image of the semi-circular road layout. One of the houses (Via del Teatro Romano 11a), as well as in the vaults of the former theater, now houses an interesting private museum (Casa Medioevale Botteghe di Artigianato d'Arte), in which old household items, tools and other artifacts are shown.
