Les Machines de l'Île is an imaginative and interactive park attraction in Nantes, inspired by the works of Jules Verne and Leonardo da Vinci. The park features a giant mechanical elephant that walks, trumpets, sprays water, and even spits fire. Visitors can also explore a laboratory of nature-inspired machines and enjoy a three-story carousel of marine machines.
A wonderful creative imaginative magical experience, for children and adults alike. Blending engineering & physics with creative design and wild imagination. This place is a must see! The Grand Elephant is also impressive, and squirts water everywhere. Don’t get wet! Must see, must try. Not expensive. Worthwhile for family and all ages!

Love the experience. Amazing place. Most of presentations are in French. You can use app to read all info online. Would suggest more English tours through the week. One on Monday evening doesn’t suit all visitors on different days.

Fantastic experience at Machine de l'île, Nantes. The ticketing system is complex but let's you pay for what you want to see - the three options are: The Elephant, The Gallery (with a range of mechanical animals to watch and some you can participate in) and the Carousel - each requires a separate booking and ticket, however the latter are both included in the Nantes pass whi h is good value for money. The Elephant was fun, though busy and you can get a better view from the ground of the elephant itself. The Gallery was excellent, again quite busy but you get to see demonstrations of 5 or 6 machines. The Carousel was better than I expected as each object has different functions that allow you to move them wh ih was fun. One word of warning, only download the tickets once as any subsequent downloads cancels the last ticket rather than duplicating it which meant I ended up in a mess with multiple tickets. You can also get tickets and opies of digital tickets from the ticket office. There's an outdoor cafe on site and a lovely Spanish restaurant adjacent.
Dominic B — Google review
This was on my "bucket list". It was amazing. Total of €30 to visit the Elephant, Carousel and Warehouse. You can see the Elephant walking around without paying if you don't want to pay to ride it. Worth knowing that parts of the carousel ride are wheelchair friendly too. It took us from 11am to 4pm ( with a break for lunchtime closure 12-2), to see everything.
Zena B — Google review
I found this a slightly bizarre experience, maybe best suited to children and anyone interested in beautiful carvings/mechanics.... but the mechanical animals were genuinely impressive and the people doing the tour were very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The highlight for me was the mechanical elephant, which you don't have to pay to watch.
Helen E — Google review
I liked the fact that this building had been renovated for such an interesting and, above all, interactive project. Fortunately, there was an English-speaking guide available. During the visit we were able to touch some of the machines ourselves and activate them, making the whole thing much more fun. It was also nice to be able to access the area where these machines are actually built, so that everyone can understand the hard engineering work that goes into them.
Flavio C — Google review
The gallery is extremely disappointing. You pay 12 euros to watch the staff having fun with the animatronics. You'll be at 10m of distance (if lucky) and with 100 people around. Maybe, maybe you're lucky enough to be selected to "pilot" some machine (actually is managed by the staff) The elephant ride is worth its price though
Inmaculada B — Google review
Staff spoke English so was able to buy ticket and find way around. Lots of machines to look at and shown working by staff. Spent a few hours here and enjoyed it but not a whole days event. Reasonably priced. Parked our vw camper in multistory over the road no problem.

Brasserie
La Cigale is a century-old brasserie in Nantes, known for its elegant Art Nouveau decor. The restaurant's interior features warm carpeting, impressive carved woodwork, and period ceramics. It has been frequented by surrealists like Andre Breton and Jacques Prevert, as well as filmmaker Jacques Demy who shot his film "Lola" there in 1961.
Good to be back after 8 years away from Nantes ! We booked for dinner then we change our mind and we had lunch. The food was good as usual, the service as well excellent and the atmosphere was great as usual! Keep it up next time.

Great dinner in a beautiful Place Graslin, the restaurant inside is a piece of art. Amazing food, good vibes, very gentle personnel and an amazing last evening of the vacation in France. Highly recommended.

Many years ago I was given a cookbook by a French friend. The cookbook was from La Cigale - I have loved the recipes it contained, I vowed that of I ever had the chance I would go to this renowned Brasserie. Yesterday I did! Our lunch was delicious, the service excellent and the atmosphere and interior decor fabulous. Thank you La Cigale, the meal we had made our stay in Nantes special.
Julie B — Google review
An excellent display of French hospitality. We began with a plate of beautiful oysters with a glass of Champagne. For main, I had perfectly cooked cod with spinach with a delicious cod sauce. I also added beurre Nantais for extra, which was excellent. My girlfriend had John Dory with well cooked asparagus in an almond butter sauce. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly and it was good to watch him orchestrate some classic French traditions like making steak tartare at the table. The dining room was absolutely stunning but could use a little spruce up in places

A wide selection of delicious dishes? Yes. Stunning views both outside and inside the restaurant? Yes. Whether you're with company or on your own — absolutely yes. Attentive waiters and excellent service? Yes! P.S. Special thanks to Huong Lan — an incredible, energetic, smiling, and cheerful person 🙏💖💕

한국인이면 여기서 꼭 음식 먹어보세요. 후회안할거에요. Found this local gem on my first trip to France. The interior was stunning, but since I hadn’t booked I sat outside and honestly, the plaza view made it even better The oysters & whelks were so fresh (a little grit here and there 😂) but still amazing. The wine the waitress suggested was perfect 🍷 And that crème brûlée… easily the best I’ve ever had! 💛 Such a beautiful solo food experience — can’t wait to come back 🇫🇷🥂

Super friendly service! Tasty food at reasonable price for the menu DU jour. No AC, but that's the usual around these parts.

Passage Pommeraye, constructed in 1843, is a stunning shopping arcade that stands out for its Renaissance-inspired architecture and upscale boutiques. This historical masterpiece features an elaborate staircase, statues, and ornaments across three floors, creating a maze of gilded galleries. Visitors can explore fashion showrooms, cake shops, and jewelry or leather workshops within this enchanting setting.
Very high priced shops but really cool architecture with free admission.. and extremely easy to visit via st.nicolas bus stop. There is a Harry Potter merchandise shop, which was cool.

Museum
The Château des ducs de Bretagne, a grand castle located in the heart of Nantes, has a rich history dating back to 1207. It was once the seat of the province of Brittany and home to the Dukes of Brittany for over three centuries. Designated as a national historical monument, it now houses the Nantes History Museum, showcasing more than 850 artifacts that depict the region's diverse heritage.
A nice castle with an insightful museum (need to buy tickets), visiting the castle is free however. The walk around the castle wall is very enjoyable, also around the moat with the ducks swimming around. Many people having picnics around the castle as well. There are many shops and cafes / restaurants around the beautiful streets outside the castle. You can easily spend at least half a day in the vicinity.
Ken A — Google review
Very well worth going. The chateau is very pretty, courtyard is big and there is plenty of space for sitting down and relax. The museum itself is top notch designed and very easy to walk around with clear signs and displays are nicely categorized. Combining with different ways of presenting: videos, games, 3D virtual screens, cartoon story telling, many other ways of references. Great for kids to visit. One of the best museums to visit, I didn’t feel bored at all during the 2 hours. The content of the museum is very educational, you get a full picture of the history of Nantes. And it’s not afraid of showing the “ugly” part of the history about salve trading. Some rare findings about WWII as well.
Robbin S — Google review
If Nantes, the Chateau is a must, really good location. Fantastic that you can walk around the outside/ramparts for free. It is amazing and such a nice vibe when walking around here.
Thurso L — Google review
Had a very quick visit. You even can go through the gates for free and make some pictures. Part of the so called 'Green Line'. If you want more you can pay to go inside the castle itself

A great visit. Walked the ramparts and the moat for free. Information boards throughout giving an insight into the history of each area. Amazing views of the city and surrounding areas. There's secure bike parking,a cafe and toilets. Well worth a visit.

Very interesting museum about the history of Nantes and the area. Very modern and accessible with lifts to every exhibition room and even to the walls around! Highly recommended to visit it if you are in the area.

Ramen restaurant
Ramen Ya is a charming little eatery that brings the essence of Japan right to the heart of France, specifically in Nantes and Rennes. Since its inception in 2017 by chef Anthony Nguyen, this cozy spot has become a beloved destination for noodle soup enthusiasts. The restaurant boasts an inviting atmosphere with a traditional Yokohama-inspired menu featuring homemade ramen crafted from locally sourced ingredients like free-range chicken and Breton pork.
You order at the front desk and wait. Menu focused on ramens. Mind the level of spiciness, you may suggest what you prefer to the crew. Not too spacy local but the food is very good.

First time in France as we were on an Extreme Day Trip - We went to Nantes and found this treasure of a place. The staff were brilliant, made us feel very welcome and THE FOOD WOW! THE FOOD WAS INCREDIBLE.
Freddy C — Google review
Got the Jigoku ramen and gyoza. The ramen was amazing. The taste is just right. For gyoza, it’s not the best I’ve tried but okay. Overall, good experience, good food.
Haruka N — Google review
The food was tasty, but the service was under par. I had a meal there on 31 Jul at 16.20 and was greeted by a less than friendly server. I made every effort to speak French only to get a curt Huh? Huh? from him. His attitude implied: the menu is in front of you, it's not that difficult to figure out. To make matters worse he sprayed the cleaning product on the table I was sitting at and got it on me. It didn't make me feel very clean. Mind you that the restaurant was almost empty and the table could have been cleaned beforehand. As a courtesy, he could have asked me to stand up or, better still, added the cleaning product on the rag and not on the table. Who trained this guy?! P.S. The ramen spoon was wet before it touched the Ramen. Substandard.
Marcel M — Google review
Great ambiance and service, it’s a kind of trendy and young ramen place in Nantes. I have been to Nantes many times but never knew this place exists. I like how efficient it is, you pay upfront then you get a seat, so the turnover is quite fast despite the queue being long. The staff was super friendly and kind. We sat at the counter and there was sufficient place under the table to hang bags and coats so it was very convenient. I would not really say the quality of the noodle soup was that great. I ordered the jigoku with spice level 2. The noodles were a bit soggy (instead of normal I should have taken Al denté for the noodles…), the egg was a bit powdery, soup a bit salty and not chilly at all, but the meat was good though. We also ordered the chashu don, the chicken dices were pasty with a bit of sauce on top, a bit of a boring dish unfortunately…
Poleen H — Google review
Such good food and such bad service, the guy at the cashing machine didn’t even say hello, we order, he didn’t take the full order and it was not correct. When at the table I realized they didn’t even asked for the size of the noodles or the cooking we wanted, so sad to have a bad experience in a restaurant we love.
Pao M — Google review
Stopped by the ramen restaurant by chance. The soup is strong enough and the noodles were cooked well. We’re from Taiwan and have tried quite a lot Ramen in Asia, I would say this ramen is local, good and recommended. Also the price is reasonable in Europe :)

Song Saveur et Sens is a glamorous Vietnamese restaurant in Nantes that has been making waves for over a decade. The elegant powder blue decor with Zen touches sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The menu offers a fusion of Asian traditions and French flair, featuring poetic dish names that spark the imagination.
Great food, lovely presentation and staff. Would highly recommend. We had the shared starter (“tapas”), the (deconstructed) bao bun and steak mains, and the chef’s special dessert

We waited for dessert too long because the kitchen served all the desserts at the same time. When we finished our main dish, we had to wait for the desserts from the table next to us to be served at the same time! And they came an hour later than us.

Les Pieds dans le Plat is a charming restaurant located in the historic center of Nantes, offering contemporary French cuisine in a cozy setting with low wooden ceilings and stone walls. Visitors have raved about the fantastic food, with highlights such as tender and moist salmon, flavorful cod fish ceviche, and delightful desserts like strawberry and raspberry soup with pistachio mousse. I had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at Les Pieds dans le Plat, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed yet refined dining experience. The menu was creative and showcased the chef’s passion for fresh, high-quality ingredients. Every dish was beautifully presented, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. The service was attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home. I would gladly return and highly recommend it to anyone in the area!

I just had the best Salmon in my life.(and I am from a coastal city) It's so tender and moist, cooked to perfection. The sauce is flavourful but not overwhelming. The cod fish ceviche was also to die for, with avocado cream & spicy tomato sauce. Dessert was a strawberry & raspberry ”soup” ropes with pistachio mousse. Highly recommend this restaurant in #nantes. The service was also very great and friendly (in both French and English) we went back for dinner twice in a row. We are really happy that our hotel concierge recommended this place.

The taste of the food at Bioburger Nantes is highly satisfying and delicious. However, some customers have mentioned that the burgers are slightly small for their price and that there was a lack of pepper sauce. Despite these minor drawbacks, Bioburger Nantes comes recommended for those with smaller appetites. One customer ordered a double cheeseburger but received a regular one instead. The staff promptly apologized, offered to replace it free of charge, and were praised for their excellent service.
Ordered from here twice on our recent visit to Nantes (we actually stayed directly above the restaurant). Great burgers, efficient service and friendly staff.
Tom S — Google review
The food is absolutely delicious—no complaints there. However, the service experience left a lot to be desired. On the Friday before a long weekend, there were only two staff members managing both the kitchen and the front counter. At one point, they had to pause taking orders to make more patties in the back, leaving customers waiting 15 to 30 minutes just to place an order. The staff member at the counter seemed unfazed and offered no apology or acknowledgment—she appeared to think this was entirely acceptable. Frankly, from a business perspective, this is a missed opportunity. If I were the owner, I’d be seriously concerned about the lost revenue and poor customer experience. That said, we were with family and grateful that the kids received their meals first. We passed the time with a beer while waiting to place our order. Great food, but the operation and service model need urgent attention.

I ordered a double cheeseburger, but noticed that they sadly served me only a normal one. As i reported that, they said that they would give me a new one and that i could keep the other one(for free)! Both burgers and staff were amazing and the meal was filling. I would definitely recommend it!🤝

This is the biggest shopping mall in Nantes. 1. They have special events for Christmas like photo with Santa Claus and etc. 2. They also have various options for restaurants inside from crêpes Breton, chinese food, burger, mexican food, french food, and... Five Guys!! 3. They also have IKEA and Leclerc. Also completed with various types of clothing stores from Adidas, Zara, H&M, IKKS, Mango, etc. For tourists/visitors in Nantes, if you want to go to the Atlantis, please remember to take the tram 1 with terminus "François Mitterand". The reason is because I crossed a lot of people who took the wrong one and they got confused about where to go. It's not a big deal, but it's always nice to plan your itinerary accordingly!

The Zenith Nantes Metropole is a modern and spacious performing arts venue that frequently hosts world-renowned musicians as well as sporting events. Its size allows for quick and easy access to amenities such as bars, making it an enjoyable experience for attendees. While some guests have noted that the dressing rooms may lack adequate heating facilities, overall the theater provides a fantastic space for an exceptional concert experience.
Live music best place to attend! I like the colorful dynamic lighting on the stage, quite fashionable and attractive. I just attend the graduation ceremony at Zenith but I can’t wait to see a musical festival there again!

Cool place, was not very big so it's easy to go buy a drink and go back to our place. But parking is surely a tricky thing because this area don't have its own parking for the people who come to see a show. Maybe park either in atlantis area or near mcdo or near kfc. Need to walk a bit after but not so far. Cannot say anything about the sound system as I am not a pro, but overall it was a nice experience. However, after the show is finished, the only way to get out from this zone is through only one bridge so it was a bit crowded.
Margareta B — Google review
Excellent venue, loads of parking, on site pizza bar, sandwich bars.
Alex E — Google review
Everything about the concert staffs were great, and I saw my favourite composer Joe Hasaishi! Nothing could be better except for the quality of the sound effects. I would say this stadium is not specifically designed for a symphonic concert as the sound is not clear enough. However the temperature and airflow are well controlled.
Zuyuan Z — Google review
Really good venue, well organised and a fab gig, the only reason I gave it a 4 not a 5 was that our seat was right up to 1 side and this affected the sound quality. If your anywhere else it sounds fantastic.
Richard S — Google review
i went to a few concerts there and it's pretty cool, there's enough gates for the waiting time to never be too long. it is easily accessible via public transit and it's close to the athlantis mall meaning that you can go eat and shopping right besides it before or after going to your concert

A beautiful walk in nature practically in the city center. Many different species of trees and flowers if you are interested. Activities for children, sports, and people taking a lunch break. Coffee and restaurant for a more formal picnic.

Its an absolutely picturesque park in the heart of the city. It has ancient statues, tiny off-road paths, a pond, lawns for activities and although it was crowded one definitely has their own personal space due to the size of the park. The flowering bushes and trees are definitely a what a person needs for a screen detox on a weekend. Recommended for families and solo visitors alike.

This park in France is very large and beautiful. The grounds are well-cared for with many trees and shrubs. It also has a pond with ducks swimming about so it's really peaceful there. It also has a small children's bobsled and a carousel for their enjoyment. Overall, this is the perfect place for a Saturday or Sunday outing.

Talensac Market is a historic 1930s market hall in Nantes, France. With over 100 vendors offering a wide range of products including cheeses, meats, pastries, chocolates, and ready-made dishes, it provides an authentic glimpse into local life. As the oldest and largest market in Nantes, it is renowned for its abundance of fresh seafood, vegetables, cheese, wine, and other delicacies.
Many choices of fruit, cheese, meat, seafood. Enjoyed picking cheese from all over France and Europe. Really worths the visit. Don't miss it. Best choice for a Sunday morning.
Haris V — Google review
What can i say... One thing that i love about traveling is exploring places where the locals go do their every day shopping. The Talensac market was one of the places where I just wandered just to feel the vibe. The smell, the noises, the people. I didn't buy anything but i feel like cash is the way to go. Also one thing, i didn't see some seating area for you to consume the fresh produce that you just bought. I get it It's a market place not a chilling area but it could still be fun.
Anthony P — Google review
Great experience! Slightly more expensive than the local market, but the quality is also much better. Would definitely recommend for all to visit!
Suha S — Google review
The market has fruit and vegetables at the exterior and cheese, meats, cakes and other specialties inside. It is quute large, prices bigger than supermarket for many products but also great diversity and quality.

Very fresh produce. But also very French; just because it’s a market doesn’t mean it’s cheap. Everything is a bit to a lot more expensive than in a regular supermarket, so only come here for the nice things you want to indulge in— fruit, oysters, wine, cakes, foie gras, jams

Jardin Extraordinaire is a newly created botanical garden located in the rebellious district of Chantenay in Nantes. It is set in an old quarry surrounded by steep cliffs and features tropical palms, banana trees, and an artificial cascade. The garden offers small pathways for wandering and a children's play area. Visitors can also climb a long staircase to reach the top of the quarry for stunning views.
I was simply speechless while wandering around the garden! Big congratulations to whoever is behind the project, I love how Nantes is keeping the legacy of Jules Vernes alive ❤️

This is a beautiful park, that has such an amazing density of plants! Despite its small size, there are places in this garden where it's easy to forget that you're in the middle of a medium-sized city! Beautiful scenery inside the park, and lovely panoramic views from the top!

Even though the garden is pretty recent and it needs time and sun to grow more and get even more impressive, it is still a great place to wander around. I like the concept. It is am open space where you csn sit inside our outside, selfservice. You first pay and then get the food. It is very good value for money. But a lot of queuing and food will get cold. I had potatos, makreel, salad and a chilled beer. All were nice. Lots of space for children to run around and play. Only downside: very loud music. Nestled in the heart of Nantes, the Jardin des Plantes is a stunning botanical garden that offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Established in the 18th century, this lush oasis boasts an impressive collection of around 11,000 plant species, including vibrant camellias and majestic magnolias. Visitors can wander through its picturesque trails or relax amidst its tranquil environment, soaking up the beauty of nature.
Probably the best park I’ve been to. The fountains were so peaceful and made better with the amount of ducks (and even tortoise!). They had some cool guys around to spot with an amazing plant garden at the back. Had lots of fun activities for kids. Even had a cute chess place right in the middle of it - you have to bring your own pieces but the boards are there on the tables. The numerous public art about was fun to stumble upon. Such a lovely park

Cathedral
The Cathédrale Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul de Nantes, a stunning example of Gothic and Renaissance architecture, dominates the skyline of Nantes with its grandeur. Fine dining restaurant
Lamaccotte - Restaurant Nantes offers a sophisticated dining experience in a warm and informal setting. The cuisine, crafted by Maxime Fillaut, is characterized by generosity, flavor, and high-quality ingredients. The restaurant occupies a modern space within a historical stone building in the city center. The menu changes daily to showcase fresh market produce, and each dish is beautifully presented.
I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant after being drawn in by the rave reviews, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Opting for the tasting menu with wine pairing was a fantastic choice. Every dish was a delightful surprise, but the standout was the fish and quail plate, which greeted us with an enticing aroma and filled our stomachs with satisfaction. The staff's meticulous explanations of each dish and their knowledge about the wines elevated the experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a memorable culinary adventure.

This restaurant offered an interesting meal with some great dishes showcasing impressive technique. The artichoke starter and fish main course were the standouts, arguably the best plates we have had during our trip to Nantes. The service was also great, especially from the friendly and attentive younger waiter. However, some of the other dishes were let down by one simple issue - the ripeness of fruits. The firmness of the fruits in the tuna starter didn’t complement the extremely delicate fish, but worse were the apricots in the dessert. The flavours of this dish were fantastic, and the oregano sorbet was a revelation (I’ll definitely make this myself at home). But crunching down on an underripe stone fruit, with the texture of a crunchy apple in a furry skin, was just unpleasant. I suspect this dish will soon be rotated out as we near the end of the French apricot season, it is just disappointing for us that this wasn’t done in time for our visit.

For those tourists (Americans) who do not frequent France very often and - unfortunately to us - do not speak french, to read the French restaurant menu is somewhat of a challenge. But we are all foodies, we all want the best experience .. So here we go - with Chef's menu and wine to match. And it did not disappoint! Great service, nice atmosphere, and of course the unexpected, never tried before delicious dishes! Simply wonderful! Thank you! P.s. Pictures added: onion tart and honey and Lemon dessert

I got the menu of the day and the selection was very good! I enjoyed every dish and wine selection was also good! The place is very calm and attention is nice. It wasn’t hard to get a reservation.

I was turned away with a booking!, the restaurant was empty (no one was in) and I was rudely informed that this restaurant decided to cancel my reservation. How do you cancel someone’s reservation and not inform them until they walk in?The staff was rude and had no remorse about the situation whatsoever. If you are not from France, just avoid this place because you will be in for a wasted night. To further exacerbate the situation, it was raining and the staff did not even try to make up for their inconvenience and just let us sit down, given (1) I had a confirmation email the previous day which clearly reminded me of my reservation and (2) the restaurant had 0 customers seated. Just go to Cafe Cult, they treated us greatly after the horrible experience we had! Background story: I reserved a table for 2 on Wednesday the 18th of September for a reservation on Saturday the 21st of September. As the confirmation email was written in French, I accidentally cancelled the reservation. Nonetheless, after a quick Google search, I rebooked a table for the same date and time . On Friday 20th of September (the day before my booking), I even received an email to remind me that I had a booking for the following day.

Modern French restaurant
Le Fou du Roi is a charming restaurant offering refined French cuisine in a picturesque setting. The old-world, stone-lined room exudes an inviting ambiance, complemented by a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Diners can savor specialties such as the regional duck dishes served with various delectable sauces or enjoy delightful salads. The outdoor terrace provides stunning views of the Chateau des Ducs de Bretagne, adding to the overall dining experience.
This delightful little restaurant adjacent to the chateau ticked all of our French mini break boxes. I wanted somewhere classically French, without the price tag. Le Fou du Roi offers a midi menu which is €21 for two courses, €25 for three. Everything we ordered was exquisitely presented and tasted divine. The wine was delicious and very reasonably priced too. The best thing though was the location, we had a stunning view of the chateau, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the other restaurant lined streets of the centre ville. The waiting staff were delightful too, we highly recommend 🇫🇷

Le Brocéliande is a lively neighborhood bar and restaurant with a cozy terrace, offering burgers, sharing plates, natural wines, and beer. The town center is perfect for an evening bar crawl with options like specialist wine bars serving 20 to 30 wines by the glass accompanied by cheese and charcuterie plates. Le Brocéliande is known for its lovely team and friendly welcome, offering creatively spiced up classics on the lunchtime menu using local, organic, and in-season ingredients.
Absolutely wonderful restaurant for a midday meal. We stopped in on a Tuesday and were seated immediately. The full 3 course meal was delicious, and for a very reasonable price. Highly recommended!

Very, very popular with the locals. We went on a Saturday. The bar opens at 18:30 and by 19:00 there was hardly a space outside. The atmosphere is great, and so is the selection of beers. The menu is not extensive, but it was perfectly cooked and very tasty. It's definitely worth a visit.

I'm staying locally and went here based on Google reviews. We arrived at opening time and were asked to come back in 20 mins at 18.00, we did and it quickly filled. At 1830hr I tried to order some food from the daily board and was told I couldn't order until 1900hr. I then saw another table having food brought out at 1850hrs? My experience is at odds with the good reviews.

LuluRouget is a renowned restaurant located on the Ile de Nantes in the Zero Newton tower. The establishment, led by acclaimed chef Ludovic Pouzelgues, offers a unique 'Les yeux fermes' tasting menu with 3 to 7 courses for lunch or dinner. The industrial-chic setting features elements such as a ceiling inspired by Gustave Eiffel and artwork by local artist Jeronimo. Velvet seating and an impressive wine cellar add to the ambiance.
Always stay of with the negatives: - architecture is not our thing but hey not too negative... - 1 person had some bones in the fish fillet 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️ The rest was superb! Really almost deserves 2* - excellent service, lovely apéritifs - the amuse bouches were amazing - starters for each of mackerel for me and lobster for my better half - 2nd fish dish of sardines - the lieu jaune with such lovely pepper sauces and purée! - palette cleanser (herbal sorbet) - Raspberry/chocolate desserts 😋

Takeout Restaurant
Au Vieux Quimper is a historic eatery that has been serving traditional crepes and galettes for over 30 years. Located in the charming Bouffay district, this rustic establishment dates back to the 15th century, adding to its allure. Despite its enduring popularity, the restaurant's warm ambiance and delicious offerings continue to attract both locals and visitors alike.
Great crepe and galette. The place is big with multiple options and selection of drinks. They were all really good. The service was friendly and fast. The toilette is clean. The children could dine in comfortably.
Gio L — Google review
Delicious galettes, properly cooked as they are hot with melted cheese (some restaurants just heat a galette and "assemble" ingredients). Sweet crepes excellent too. Friendly service.
Kerry E — Google review
We were recommended to come here ticking off my list of what food must try in Nantes: savoury buckwheat galette and sweet wheat crêpe. We ordered Ham, cheese, and egg galette and Salted caramel and sautéed apple crêpe. Along with cider and lemonade. Food and drinks came at reasonable time. Portion size is ok. The galette was really thin and crispy whilst the crêpe was thicker but remained crispy even with the topping. The flavours of the galette were what you'd expect from the ham, cheese, and egg whilst the flavours of the crêpe were subtle: neither too salty or sweet. The staff were friendly and we enjoyed sitting outside with the sunshine. It was a positive experience and I'd recommend this place for those visiting Nantes and would like to try galettes and/ or crêpes.

Went for lunch - Really delicious crepes, we had savoury but a vast array of different options including sweet crepes. Good value for money, nice atmosphere and good location, service was a little slow
Alexandra B — Google review
The place is slightly understaffed but the waiters and waitresses were still kind and highly professional with their service. It's slightly pricier compared to other crêperies but this doesn't necessary translate to better-tasting food. I'd rate it as decent/not bad. There are tastier crêpes to be had elsewhere. Sorry, for the 4 stars but it was mainly for the taste. 😔
Stephanie P — Google review
We decided to come to this place after seeing reviews on Google. It’s my first time having the crêpe in Bretagne. We ordered the Norvégienne salmon galette, and a simple crêpe with a jam. My husband loved his crêpe! I like my galette but the salmon was a little too salty for me. The cooked leek and cream was really delicious. The service was slow. I think it was kind of under staffed for an extremely popular place. The staffs were all extremely busy servicing the customers. The outdoor seats were quickly taken but there was an upstairs seating area, too.

Specialty Museums
The Memorial to the Abolition of Slavery in Nantes pays tribute to abolitionists and the victims of the Atlantic slave trade. The city, once France's largest slave port, saw numerous ships depart for Africa daily. Although slavery was abolished in 1848, it wasn't until the 1990s that Nantes confronted its dark history.
Very beautiful memorial underground with some work also embedded in the pavements leading to it, subtle but powerful message. There are two entryways, the starting point is by the Pont Anne de Bretagne (or the Chantiers Navals stop if taking tram #1), and there is a lift for those having mobility issues. For in depth understanding of this there is recommendations to got to the musée d'histoire de Nantes, located in the Château des ducs de Bretagne.
Yeephang W — Google review
Very educational! Convenient location. Loved the layout and the concept of it. And admission is free!
Michelle S — Google review
Powerful way of telling about Nantes' implication in the Trans-Atlantic trade in enslaved people. I had the feeling of standing inside one of the ships that carried people over the ocean. Really intriguing and powerful to walk through this memorial. I like the fact that the city recognises its own role, curious to know if/how there might have been/be reparations.
Thirza S — Google review
Found this memorial simple but powerful. The history of the abolition of slavery was very interesting. I felt that it was underground added to the impact to the famous quotes about slavery.
Thurso L — Google review
I saw something like knowledge or catchwords. But the real thing made me tear is the singing voice of the escaping slave women floating on a river.
Exoney L — Google review
An eye opener and symbolic location near a river but underground. One can draw parallels with the harsh living conditions of slaves on ships living below deck, constantly rocked by waves during the crossing to the Americas or Europe.

Crêperie Heb Ken is a long-standing establishment in Nantes, the capital of western France and the former capital of Brittany. This charming creperie offers a variety of sweet crepes, savory galettes, and Breton cider made with local ingredients such as ham, goat cheese, strawberry jam, chocolate, and traditional salted butter. The menu features affordable options starting at 2.70 euros.
The crepes are good, the service was friendly and every time focused to the customer. We took a table outside, this is here not so nice, like some other areas in Nantes. But anyway it is not a place to spend a long time. I can really suggest the Heb Ken Crêpe, which was really good and it looks small but is totally enough for a full meal. The prices are totally okay, depend on your choices.

Great authentic galettes and crepes that really are in my opinion the best in town. I got a beautiful goat cheese, onion, and jamon crepe that really was so tasty for the main and finished off with a flambee crepe that was the best dessert crepe i've ever had!

We arrived around 1:00 on a Friday and had to wait a few minutes for a seat, but it was worth it! We got the onion/egg/cheese and the mushroom/egg/cheese and had no regrets. I've always loved a good savory crepe- it's like a gooey, delicious pancake that you can eat for lunch! We also got the side salad, which was just lettuce and balsamic but we knew that before we got them. For dessert we had chocolate/lemon and honey/almond crepes, which use a different flour that complements the sweetness. Trying to decide if we go again tomorrow!

When in Nantes, the Centre commercial Paridis is a must-visit for a delightful shopping experience. This spacious mall offers a wide range of stores and services, including the impressive Leclerc supermarket, which is one of the largest in the Loire Atlantique region. It's an ideal place to spend time with loved ones, featuring a charming carousel for children and various dining options. Conveniently located near public transportation stops, it's easily accessible via bus or tramway.
This mall is big and has a lot of in stores, the supermarket Leclerc in thé mall Paradis is by far the biggest I had seen in my region Loire Atlantique. Nice place to hang out with girlfriend, friends, family and children's since it has a nice carrousel. Take the bus line C1 get down in the station Halluchere and walk less than five minutes. Or the tramway towards Beaujoire and get down in Halluchere.

Been there and hygienically, I'd rate the place a 7, however, in terms of explorers conduction, I'd say it's not so impressive. Nonetheless, a great experience ; overall.

Although I seldom shop inside of this mall, if it's three things that I do make a stop here for from time to time. 1. My bank is located here, and even if it's unfortunate that it has zero drive through capabilities in 2025, going to the bank is necessary! 2. Jeff de Bruges Chocolatière I cannot get enough of 🍫 3. Yves Rocher Instituts, because I'm a woman who cares about the little things that make me feel incredibly relaxed and prepped for another week✨

Must go!! This place was recommended by the Table of Nantes 2018, and you can definitely see why. Went on a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant itself is adorable and cosy. It smelled so good once we stepped inside, and the quality of the galettes and crepes are incredible. I recommend any galette with the coulis de tomate - it’s made from their own tomato paste and unique to this crêperie.

Unpretentious and warm setting for a cozy galette dinner made with organic ingredients. We ordered the Penn-yar galettes and requested an addition of spinach to the filling. The waitstaff were very accommodating. We have enjoyed galettes and crepes here before and appreciate not only the local and fresh ingredients used, but that they are made to order (i.e., not pre-made/reheated). We plan to come here again on our next trip to Nantes!

Turkish restaurant
Grill
Délices d'Istanbul is a favorite kebab restaurant in town, known for its filling falafel sandwich served with hot and fresh fries on the side. The Algerian and chili sauces are delicious accompaniments to the meal. The kind and attentive service adds to the overall experience, making it a must-visit spot downtown. Payment by card or cash is accepted, and the fast service ensures that you can enjoy your meal without delay.
Nice food, fast service! You can pay by card.

Fast and helpful service! The fries were average but the sandwich and the kebab was good. Card and cash are accepted. The Algeria sauce was delicious!
Rowan L — Google review
Very kind staff and clean kitchen. Also they serve very delicious Turkish tea.
Devran G — Google review
I come here frequently for a falafel sandwich. So filling, and worth the only 6.50€ with fries on the side. The fries are ALWAYS served hot and fresh and their chile and Algerian sauces are delicious. Kind and attentive service and definitely my favorite kebab restaurant in town. Stop by if you're downtown.

Creperie
French restaurant
La Gavotte is a charming creperie located in Nantes, offering a delightful selection of crepes and galettes. The restaurant has an original and warm decor, with friendly staff providing excellent service. The frangipane pancakes come highly recommended for their surprising yet delicious taste. It's a local family-run establishment that can get crowded and noisy due to its popularity. While the menu may not be available in multiple languages, the owner is willing to assist with orders.
Highly recommended. I found this place by accident and am so happy I did. Very good galettes, very nice and good service and authentically decorated. I'll definitely go back if I'm ever back in Nantes.

An authentic creperie with delicious food, ambience and incredibly welcoming and friendly staff. One of the highlights of our trip.

Interesting set of crepes and galettes. Tasty food fast served. The place inside has a lot of table, but half of them are reserved for dinner. This is a local type of family restraunt so it can become crowded and noisy. The peices are at average level and maybe even a bit higher, but this not expensive and fancy place. Service is fast and staff is friendly, but do not expect menu in English or other languages. Though owner is willing to help with order he cannot translate you everything. Overall I do recommend this place.

Delicious crépe. Great servers & a very nice atmosphere. When we ate there it was full of elderly people which made us feel very cosy.

(Translated by Google) A very good creperie that was a real discovery! The place is very beautiful and unique and the lady is kind and helpful, even if she only speaks French. Excellent crepes! Highly recommended😊 (Original) Una buonissima crêperia che è stata una vera scoperta! Il locale è molto bello e particolare e la signora gentile e disponibile, anche se parla solo in francese. Fine dining restaurant
Restaurant L'Atlantide 1874 - Maison Guého is an elegant dining venue offering contemporary French cuisine, including vegan options, and stunning views of the River Loire. The restaurant is housed in a historic mansion dating back to 1874, just a short walk from the Musee Jules Verne. Through its large panoramic windows, guests can admire the river and the Ile de Nantes.
A fantastic evening at this famous restaurant. It’s great to see that these guys keep up a great quality level even when they have had their star for so long. Fabulous service, the view over the Loire is fantastic, the food is super (as expected). Will gladly come back!

The best experience in my life. I wish I could just go back to Nantes soon only to eat here again. Thank you very much for sharing your talent and good environment.

Incredible food and service. The propositions were ambitious and always very well realised! We had a wonderful time as a family! A very warm thank you to the whole team.
Judz C — Google review
We took the menu with 4 dishes. Starting with the good points for the food, the merlin with mussels, yellow tomato and courgette worked very well (highlight of the menu). The sweetbreads were also excellent and the dessert were very good. Unfortunately, the apetizers didn't work. Taste and consistency was underwhelming. Boring start. The fishsoup tasted like it came from a can, and the lobster dish just didn't work at all. The gel had no taste and it covered a lobster-ginger salad, which was way overpowered with ginger. The cold dishes and soup were executed very poorly, whereas the fish, sweetbreads and dessert were excellent.

Succulent food, excellent service, great value for money. Very brave with mix of different flavours and colours. They live up to their Michelin star. Keep up the great work, we'll surely be back!
Tersi V — Google review
Well, I decided not to book a table in the end because of the very unpolite phone reception. I felt I was causing the person a problem to find a time for me to come and have dinner. Called another "Star" restaurant with a much nicer phone reception.
