Whether you’re there to pray, reflect, or just enjoy the natural beauty, it’s a place that leaves a lasting impression. Highly worth a visit, even if you’re just passing through.

The architecture is impressive and so is the decorations. However it's very busy and you will have to wait between services to take pictures on the inside. The whole atmosphere gives me a vibe of being the ultimate tourist trap. Something of religious importance, now a massive business venture.

A trip of a lifetime. There's no way to convey how special the sanctuary and the basilica of the holy rosary is so beautiful. The masses are packed but there's so many masses, so many events and it's all so well curated and communicated via the Lourdes apps, it's actually comfortable. My dad was in a wheelchair and we were able to sit at the front for most masses.

The Basilica of St. Pius X, also known as the Underground Basilica, is a significant site in the Religious Town. It is a massive subterranean church designed in a brutalist style and can accommodate around 25,000 worshippers. Despite its unconventional appearance, it serves as a place of worship for special events such as the anniversary of the apparitions.
This massive underground church is a must see! The reach was incredible, I'm not even sure how many people can fit down there. There are banners hanging all throughout with pictures of different saints. It starts at the entrance to the sanctuary and reaches all the way to the Basilica of the Rosary. It's huge

Beautifully located underground contemporary concrete construction and well presented with good decor and seating for hundreds of pilgrims the Basilica offers solitude and peace in prayers.
An enormous underground basilica located to the left as soon as you enter the sanctuary from the main entrance. We attended the main international mass (Sundays) and 5pm adoration that take place here. It can accommodate a lot of people, there are sufficient seats here and there's wheelchair access. The sound and lighting setup is also great to experience the events well.
Everytime I went in here, something in me opens up .. and I want to be a better person. So serene .. for a Basilica that can hold 20,000 people at once.
Interesting place, a huge concrete cavern under, in a "brutalist" style. Usually open during tgd day. Worth looking in.
The Basilica of St. Pius X in Lourdes is an extraordinary place of worship that left a deep impression on me. As one of the largest underground basilicas in the world, its sheer size is awe-inspiring, and the modern architectural design is both unique and fitting for such a significant spiritual site.
The atmosphere inside the basilica is one of profound peace and reverence. Despite its capacity to hold thousands of pilgrims, the space feels surprisingly intimate, making it an ideal setting for prayer and reflection. The simplicity of the concrete arches and minimalist decor enhances the sense of calm and allows visitors to focus on the spiritual experience.
One thing to note, however, is that there were quite a few mosquitoes inside, which was a bit of an annoyance during our visit. While it didn’t detract from the overall experience, it’s something to be aware of, especially if you’re sensitive to insect bites.
Completely awesome space. Had a fabulous pipe organ. Had great posters of at least 100 saints. Unlike any basilica you've been to. It's like an upsidedown boat.

As a catholic, I’m writing this review with great pleasure and joy. It was my first time in Lourdes and I felt so special and blessed. Please note there’s a candlelight procession happening at 9pm at night every day from April to October.
Also there are several mass services in different churches in the premises. You can buy bottles from near by shops and fill holy water. There’s staff that help you with information and guiding you through.

Visiting here for the first time was truly breathtaking. The sanctuary is grand, magnificent, and more beautiful than any place I have ever seen. If you visit, you will feel the same wonder and excitement that I felt.
Interesting to see how many people are devoted to the memory of a young girl, Bernadette Sounirous, who in 1858 with a series of apparitions changed a once sleepy town forever. Now it's a large very tourist complex with the sites of the wonders shown to the girl.
It's all alien for me but looking at it as an anthropologist it was sort of fun.
Personally, I’m not Christian, but I felt that this place was truly holy. There was a wonderful energy. I went there in the off-season around 6:00 p.m., and there were about 100 people , it didn’t feel crowded at all.
I respect all religions, and I must say this is a magical place to visit, even if you’re not religious.

Massabielle Grotto, located in the south-western part of France, is a 31-foot deep limestone cave and religious pilgrimage site. It is famous for being the location where Bernadette Soubirous saw her visions of the Virgin Mary in 1858. The site has since become a place of pilgrimage for believers from all over the world. Visitors can experience the mystical atmosphere and silent reflection within the cave, which holds significant religious importance.

As soon as you get to Lourdes the air, the senses and everything comes alive. Unfortunately I went without faith but with the knowledge that it was one of our Lady's home. In hindsight it made all the difference in my reversion. Go, with or without faith, Our Mother will love you regardless and grant you graces accordingly.
The place where st Bernadette Soubirous is said to have seen the Lourdes apparitions is called the "grotto of Massabielle", which is the most famous place in the sanctuary. The Lourdes water flows from a spring located inside the cave. From 2014 to 2018, the surroundings of the grotto were modified to facilitate the passing of pilgrims through the various facilities around the grotto. A new esplanade was built on the banks, taps providing water from the spring were moved away from the grotto while new fountains for pilgrims were created, baths were renovated and a new bridge was built. Chapel of lights were built on the right bank for pilgrims to light candles.

How do you rate a place of apparitions. I found it a relaxing experience. There was mass said in diferent languages every day. I felt calm during my visit. People were quite emotional sometimes and this was fine. I also sat across the river for somtime and it was just calm and relaxing. I was on shirt break alone but was never left to fell that way. I knelt and received communion on the tongue which was somthing quite special. There is a feeling of hope here. The story of Bernadette has reached all corners of the world. She is an inspiration. This is an inspiring story of an apparition of the immaculate conception. To be there and kneel were this took place is beyond belief really. A peaceful nighttime visit is really exhilarating enjoy.

The Church of Saint Bernadette is a stunning and holy place located in the cathedral, attracting numerous pilgrims throughout the year. It's closely situated to the house of Saint Bernadette and easily accessible by public transportation. The church boasts spacious interiors with wonderful acoustics and a superb organ, although it could benefit from maintenance. Visitors can also enjoy beautiful flowers adorning the chapel during Pentecost to honor the Holy Spirit.
Church of Saint Bernadette is awesome 🤩 #1 you can go in a cave you can touch the holy water on the rocks 🪨 and holy water can make a person not sick!! #2 you can buy candles 🕯️ to pray 🙏 for some things!!! #3 take the steps up, and you go through the door 🚪 and then people are praying and singing in Hindi! #4 then you go down and you go in the other room and you see people singing in Spanish 🇨🇳!!! #5 finally you go to the last room all the way down, you go in and you see: panting, statues, and design of Jesus !!! I think it’s good to go with your family or with your friends or kids 😉

Saint Bernadette's church is a great place to hold a service or a Mass.

Beautiful church. Sadly surrounded by an industry of selling candles to the believers. Candles from 3 euros to 500 euros! Little chapels on the other side of the river where you can light your candle and put it on a shelf. Rather ironic that four of them were burned to the ground! I wouldn't have thought God would let that happen! Must be a message!

Very beautiful church in the cathedral. Very holy and pius location. Visited by plenty of pilgrims all year round. Very special place. The house of Saint Bernadette is very close to this. Easy access to public transportation.

Château Fort Musée Pyrénéen is a museum housed within a medieval castle that overlooks the city of Lourdes and offers panoramic views of the Pyrenees and the Marian Sanctuary. The history of this fortress is shrouded in mystery due to destructive sieges in 1374 and 1573, which scattered and destroyed many archives. Designated as a Historical Monument in 1995, its exceptional military significance was confirmed through architectural studies.
Next to the Sanctuary of Lourdes, Chateau Fort Pyréné and Museum is a must visit. The staff here is friendly and helpful even for English speakers. The views from the top are just spectacular. It is very affordable to do.

Absolutely stunning experience! The Château Fort offers breathtaking views over Lourdes and the surrounding Pyrenees — a perfect blend of history and nature. The museum inside is rich with regional culture, artifacts, and beautifully preserved rooms. Everything is well-organized and easy to explore. A must-visit if you’re in the area — peaceful, inspiring, and unforgettable.
Such a beautiful castle and place where you can see the whole Lourdes city from a hill. Get the guide map so you can follow the trail.
My favorite is to sit down at the garden where you can look at the city in peace.
This is a fantastic fort with an interesting history sitting on the mountain that flanks Lourdes. Access is either by a lift or you can take the stairs. Once there you can follow the guide pamphlet which takes you through all areas of this restored fort and gives you its history. In some of the rooms there are multilingual information sheets, which provide more detailed descriptions of the parts of the foot and its history. It is filled with interesting artifacts from the Pyrenees and the most stunning views across the city and towards the mountains. This alone is worth the price of admission, which is only eight euros for adults. A wonderful thing to do if you need to get away from the crowds across the river in the religious complex.
We absolutely loved our visit to the Château Fort – Musée Pyrénéen. The castle is really impressive with its thick stone walls, towers, and long history — and the views over Lourdes and the mountains are just beautiful.
The museum inside gives a great insight into traditional life in the Pyrenees — with old tools, costumes, furniture, folk art, and even some really charming scale models of mountain villages. It’s all very nicely laid out and gives you a real feel for the local culture.
The castle grounds are peaceful and pleasant to walk around, with lots of corners to explore — towers, courtyards, little gardens.
If you’re in Lourdes, it’s definitely worth a visit — a great mix of history, atmosphere, and stunning views.

Castle Pyrenean is absolutely worth visiting. The castle itself is charming, but the real highlight is the panoramic view from the mountain top — stunning on a clear day, with sweeping landscapes all around. A perfect spot for photos and for taking in the beauty of the Pyrenees.
The tour of the fort was very well thought out. With different stations to explore it was a wonderful experience. Of course the views of Lourdes was another highlight. Do go check opening and closing times cos when I visited they closed at 1230. Think it might be for lunch.

Carrefour Market Lourdes is one of the two Carrefour supermarkets in the area. While not as large as E.Leclerc, it offers a good variety of food and own-brand products. The supermarket is conveniently located in the center of Lourdes, making it a nice and cozy place to shop for all your needs. Additionally, visitors can inquire about services such as click and print same time photo printing during their visit.

Extremely disappointed with the discriminatory treatment at Carrefour. We were selectively asked to open our bags, while others were not. It felt targeted, and we can’t help but wonder—was it because we are Asian? Such behavior is unacceptable and goes against the principles of fairness and respect.
You may check the CCTV—we were just shopping in the chocolate, snack and toiletries section.

Overall, it's a very friendly store. I shopped here for two days during our visit. I found the staff was very helpful. The store is nicely laid out.

L'Epi d'Or is a charming Italian restaurant in Lourdes that offers a wide selection of delicious dishes. The friendly staff provides a warm welcome, and the pizza with excellent dough and tasty toppings is highly recommended. The menu includes options like Italian-style burgers and local variations with Pyrenees cheese, all at great value for money.
This small restaurant was recommended to me by another local establishment and can only be described as small, local, friendly with an amazing selection of food.
For starters i had the Bigourdane Gallett which is very similar to a crepe filled with cheese, fillet of duck, herbs, cream, leeks and plenty of garlic. This alone could of fulfilled me as a main course but it was exceptional. The establishment offer a selection of around 10 different Gallett's and i would have this again alone.
Im not sure how i found space but i did and had the home made Lasagne. Although it looks small do not let its size put you off, the dish is bursting full of flavour and tastes just as good as a home cooked version with a lovely accompaniment of salad around the edge.
For drinks i had a small bottle of a locally produced red wine which was recommended by the wonderful waitress. Saint-Mont Tertre Sud (Domaine de Maouries) can only be described as a light and rich red wine, not as full on as Bordeaux but just as nice and complimented the lasagne perfectly. Definitely a must if you want something different from Bordeaux and a must for those wanting to sample local vineyards.
For me Dessert was the best part, never before have i had a Pear or Pineapple sorbet. The pear immediately made me smile, you could taste all of the notes of the fruit and it still retained that distinctive light brown shade of a pear. I didnt want it to end however when it did the Pineapple sorbet was a good close second, again you could taste all of the notes of the fruit and it was without a doubt one of the best sorbets i have ever tasted.
All in all with the fantastic service, homely food, great recommendations this is a restaurant which deserves its 5 stars and due to its location away from the main tourist strip maintains its dignity as a local restaurant

Located on a lovely corner just below the castle, this is a good place to take a tourism break and simply enjoy being at Lourdes. The lunch menu is varied and interesting, pizzas are great every time and the service is patient and best of all... KIND!

Located in a pretty calm street which makes it nice to sit on the terrace. Nice aesthetics and friendly personnel. Speaking English is no problem here so that's a big plus.
The choice of pizzas is not bad either and it tasted pretty good. If you're in Lourdes and looking for a nice place to eat pizza for a reasonable price then I would for sure recommend it!

The location is the best, near to Grotto gate and so many shops and restaurant surrounding.
The Room is clean but the bathroom is very small, i bumped so many time when taking shower, but overall i like it staying here...

Asian Delices Food is a Filipino restaurant located in the heart of Lourdes, just a short walk from the Sanctuary. The attentive service provided by Sacha and Amhad adds to the overall experience. While some found the dishes to be only okay, others appreciated the authentic Filipino cuisine, such as bistek tagalog, pork binagoongan, lechon kawali, turon, and halo-halo.
Delicious Asian food with fair price. Friendly & welcoming customer service by the staff. We had 3 meals here during our 7 days in Lourdes. We ordered pork Adobo ,Le Chon,Fried Chicken, Mixed Veggies set...must say their Le Chon is just irresistible.

We were excited that finally we can try our own Filipino food while we are in pilgrimage in Europe. But the service was not I expected. The waitress went to our table twice and asked me if I have order already and who’s with me. I said my sister and mother were in line downstairs ordering our food. My father and I already went up and seat in the table. Then I realized, they don’t want us to seat in the table if we haven’t order yet. They don’t allow us also to bring water from outside. Well in fact there’s no such thing or rules in general in a restaurant. The pork adobo is on a sour side making it taste like Lechon Paksiw not really adobo. The servings were good for sharing. Wifi is also weak and cannot connect upstairs. But for the service, I will not return nor recommend this place. Better eat in other Asian restaurant in the area.
We wanted to get something Asian and came across this establishment. We were wary because we rarely come across clean Filipino restaurants with not over-salty/sweet dishes. However, for the first time, we have found a Filipino restaurant that is both clean and had well balanced dishes! And who knew it would be in France! All the dishes we ordered in their menu were delicious, especially the chicken porridge and crispy chicken meal.
Had a very good beef bistek tagalog. But the portion was a bit on the small side for my liking. When I wanted to order a dessert, the kitchen was already closed (20:45), which is on me. Went to another restaurant to get some more food after

I had blanquette de veau for the main course, surprisingly good, it almost taste like an asian dish we had in my country maybe that's why.
The lemon dessert was a bit too sour for my liking but still okay. And if I'm not mistaken the appetizer was a humus soup, it has a very unique presentation.
Dined here on a Sunday evening. There was a line when it opened at 7 pm ( says 6:30 pm on website). Seated and served very quickly. All serves were friendly, professional and prompt. We chose: snails, foie terrain, cassoulet, pork. All were exceptional. The lemon meringue tart was AMAZING. Best meringue of my life. One of the best in Lourdes.
Such a perfect experience for us, we came back the next day for more! Cuisine and table service were exceptional - a real gem in a town which was totally dead on a Monday in early March.
As a former restaurant owner and die-hard foodie, I find it challenging to discover quality food in Lourdes. However, this restaurant, though off the beaten path, is well worth the visit. The staff is fantastic, and the food is delicious. Don’t be deceived by its exterior—this is not just a pizza joint; it offers fine dining all the way.
I also enjoyed seeing the children delight in their experiences with pizza, burgers, and ice cream sundaes.
Sympathy from the moment I called booking, fast service. Light and delicious food, prepared with fresh ingredients and homemade spices, very well served. As we were without lunch, we ordered a pizza and an octopus poke as a starter, then we ordered as a main course, a lamb and a cod that were divine.

A very nice restaurant to visit . Our waitress didn't seem to have much English but she sent a lovely man to us who went through the menu, explained about the weather and gave us directions. The pizzas are really nice, fresh and homemade. The salad was also lovely and the desserts were fab and presented well. I would highly recommend here.

We really enjoyed the tour up the mountain — the scenery was gorgeous, and the whole experience was well worth it. Apparently, during the summer season, you can even go inside the cave as part of the guided tour, which makes it even more special. The guides were fantastic — very knowledgeable and happy to answer all our questions. We even spotted a small bat inside, which was a fun surprise!
At the top of the mountain, there’s a restaurant where you can relax and enjoy the surroundings, and there are plenty of walking paths and trails if you want to explore further or just take in the breathtaking views of the Pyrenees.
A great mix of nature, history, and adventure — highly recommended!

Reasonably priced. Managed to park right outside the station. Had to queue fir about 10 minutes. Funicular was packed on the way up, so not much view. At the top was spectacular. Had to walk further up from the cafe to see the huge metal cross.
Would highly recommend booking a table before you go up if you want to eat.
It was great to visit this viewpoint in Lourdes. Loved all about it. The tickets for furnicular is €13.50 pp.
It was well worth the money. The last furnicular goes up hill at 4pm. So make sure you go before to enjoy the scenic views.
A must do when in Lourdes. The view is amazing. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't very busy. After you reach the top, you can hike a little further to the very top by the cross. It was so peaceful I fell asleep and got a little sun. You can hike your way back down or even bike down if you choose.
Well worth a visit. We were not stopping I Lourdes but passing through and came accross the fenicular. Great views from the top.

It's an absolutely delightful place, family owned by the grandson of the original builder of the village. The staff are all friendly and kind and it's well worth a visit.

This is a must see! The creator left his home in Paris as he felt a calling to build a replica of Lourdes basilica. Once he achieved this after 15 years of building he saw in the garden a place where he could replicate the grotto. We paid a reasonable price and were given a speaker that told us the story of St Bernadette and Lourdes as we strolled around the amazing Petit town.
The creators grandson then told us some more very interesting facts and stories about the place and its origins.
I highly recommend a visit to Le Petit Lourdes, it was educational, fun and fascinating. It has a fantastic gift shop too, run by the most lovely family.
A Litttle Hidden Gem and a must see in Lourdes
About 15 minute walk from the grotto in Lourdes, I had a spare hour to visit a museum and was so glad I picked this one. Away from the crowds, it doesn’t get the natural foot traffic but worth the trip. Gives you the history of the town during the apparitions and a real sense of the feel of the town in the 19th century. Still run by the same family for three generations and passionate about the history and went out of their way to make you feel welcome. Audio description available in multiple languages and a quaint gift shop at the end . If you have a little time, go and visit to support this independent museum.

Fantastic place. 5 levels of incredible craftsmanship. The wax statues are life size and so stunningly realistic. The curated stories of Bernadette and Jesus' life events is very thoughtfully done. To top it all, the top floor Panoramic terrace access gives you a breathtaking view of main Lourdes square. My family fully enjoyed the trip. A must see if you have some extra time when you are in Lourdes
A very beautiful place. The wax statues are gorgeous, some even look real. Very well structured, it is worth taking the audio guide. On the 5th floor there is a beautiful panorama. The bathroom is very clean. The lady who sell the tickets is kind, speaks several languages and explains everything to you. Definitely worth it.

Le Cachot is a significant historical site in Lourdes, France, where the Soubirous family, including St. Bernadette Soubirous, lived in the 1850s. This tiny chamber served as their dwelling after they were expelled from their previous residence for not paying rent. The 13m2 (149 square feet) space was a former prison cell and was extremely damp and unsuitable for habitation.
Museum... It is one place where Saint Bernardette lived. You cannot miss it.

There are quite a few historic places around Lourdes related to Bernadette and her family. Le Cachot is where the Soubirous family of six between in1857-1858 when Bernadette had her visions of the Virgin Mary.
The room is small, difficult to imagine six living comfortably here. You'll see some pictures and be able to read general information about the family and property. Cards are available in multiple languages.
This is a small museum showing the very small single room where St. Bernadette lived at one time with three siblings and her parents. The 'hood' she wore and her wooden shoes are also on display. It doesn't take long to see but it's interesting.
We loved getting to see this space where St Bernadette lived. And learning more of her story was incredible.

Great place to start your time in Lourdes. We came as pilgrims and seeing the state of life for St. Bernadette.
Beautiful place. Amazing that the doors and windows were the ones that were there when Bernadette lived there.
The only problem was that there were endless groups of children with teachers etc, but they were all, without exception, loud, laughing, having pictures taken with daft faces and fingers in the V posits. It was very hard to sit and meditate and think about how the family were all cramped in there, and was where they lived at the times of the apparitions.
So if you are lucky you might catch it when it’s quiet and there aren’t loads of kids messing about.
Le Cachot was where the Soubirous family lived during the family’s financial hardship.

This tourist office is located just off the main north-south street, Ave. du Marechal Foch that runs through the city of Lourdes. It is just across the street from the historic Palais des Congres building and is open from 9am to 12.30pm (morning) and 2pm to 6pm (afternoon). Closed on Sundays.
We recently stopped here for information about driving south of Lourdes into the Pyrenese Mountains. The desk help was very nice and showed us main driving routes and three popular destinations, describing well in English what we could expect to do and see while there. It made it much easier to plan a driving day trip out of Lourdes into the mountains a couple days later. A large tourist brochure booklet with maps was provided for free. Really helpful all the way around.
Wonderful staff of this office! Fabrice was very helpful with his recommendations for activities in Lourdes. I combined hiking and visiting sanctuary in a day and it was a great experience of Lourdes. Thank you!

Maison Paternelle de Sainte-Bernadette, also known as Boly Water-mill, is the birthplace of St. Bernadette Soubirous in January 1844. It was where she spent her first 10 years and visitors can still see the room where she was born. The museum is run by Bernadette's descendants and showcases family photos, her parents' room, and other personal belongings.
Interesting place, helpful staff. Reasonable price (only 2.50 euro - Aug 2024). Worth visiting. It's a house where St Bernadette lived after the apparitions. And they have leaflets in many languages and it only takes 15 minutes.

Café Le Genève is a great place for a meal, whether you're looking for something quick to eat or you want to sit down and enjoy your food. They have a great selection of both European and French dishes, all at reasonable prices. In addition, they offer outdoor seating in the pleasant surroundings of the city center. Finally, their wheelchair accessible facilities make it easy for those with mobility issues to enjoy their meal.
Fast and friendly service. We just had a coffee and a crepes with vanilla ice. It was delicious, and we also recommend the café Viennois, which is a coffee with whipped cream on top.

3/5 – Good food, but disappointing service
We arrived at La Geneve when it was fairly quiet, with plenty of empty tables, and were initially pleased with the friendly service. We asked for a table for five, but one member of our group decided not to stay, and our two children weren’t ready to eat, so only my wife and I ordered mains and a glass of wine.
While the meals were quite good and reasonably priced, the mood quickly shifted. The waitress became visibly irritated that only two meals were ordered, and unfortunately, the service never recovered from that point. It left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome, which took away from what could have been a lovely meal.
In short – decent food, but the attitude from staff spoiled the experience for us.
I stumbled into the place, looking for a decent breakfast. Well the cheese omelette was delicious and really satisfying. The tea was lovely , the gentleman was kind enough too.
Place was accommodating and clean.
We ate here a few times during our stay in Lourdes. The prices are very reasonable the service is first class. The menu is compact and the food quality is top class.

It was cold and wet in Lourdes when we visited this morning for a healing ceremony. On our way back to the car it started raining heavily so we ducked into the Bar Brasserie Le Geneve to have an early lunch, hoping the rain would stop. There were few other customers at 1100 am so we got great service from a waiter who spoke excellent English (and six other languages). The menu was written in English (see attached photos). We both chose French Onion Soup to warm our insides, then my wife had spaghetti Bolognese and I had sausage and fries. The (home made) soup was great and the entrees were serviceable for our hunger, hence the five stars. We drank coffee, tea and sparkling water and the bill for two was a reasonable 40.70 Euros. The seating was comfortable and the toilets were clean and had adequate supplies.

Pizza was quite good but the waiter was unkind when we ordered two pizzas for 5 people familly (3 kids) he laughet at us and without any reason he just not gave us any knife or fork (but our friends who ordered the same have been given with those without asking) and he didn't give us souses (and again our friends got them). Another his unkindness was that he hadn't gave us water as everywhere in france but when we ask at the end while paying they said that it is free (but we had to ask).
Very friendly staff.. we jumped in here due to a lighting strike and downpour.. two hours later we left after lovely pizza, coffee and apple tart..

We visited as a group of 8 and had been looking forward to it due to such a varied menu but everyone in the group was disappointed. The atmosphere was very flat, no background music and as a group of 8 we were naturally the noisiest table and felt the stares of everyone around us. The tables are set beautifully and the prices are good, but those are the only positives. When we arrived there was no welcome from the waiter, we actually felt a bit of an inconvenience to a virtually empty restaurant. The spaghetti dishes were very oily and those who had it didn’t finish. I had the gnocchi alla sorrentina and while it was ok it was nothing like the dish it was called - rubbery melted cheese on the top and not much flavour. Those who had the steak/chicken and chips they were served on a massive plate but no presentation and quite a small portion of sad looking fries. One came with ‘salad’ which was missing, when we asked for it we were brought one plate of plain iceberg lettuce. We’re British and even we couldn’t call a bland plate of iceberg lettuce salad.
Deliciously baked pizza in open stove, tasty salads, great value for money, very good service. Would highly recommend for an evening meal (open from 7pm).
For the price you pay you would expect very good food. On the contrary I found it very basic. The pasta was horrendous (undercooked with about 10 litres of oil) not to mention absolutely loaded with garlic ( I dont know why people think Italians cook with loads of garlic)

The atmosphere was wonderful with 10/10 service by waiter Mr Nicholas. The food was marvellously prepared by the chef Mr Frank. The best steak I ever had for a long time. Perfectly cooked with such tasty mushroom sauce. I will be honest it's not cheap to eat here but you definitely get what you pay for. I highly recommend it for fine or casual dining. The food at the restaurant was really great, especially the dinner in the bottom restaurant where we had really great duck breast and salad. Also the service through the hotel was top notch. For example, when we went to the wrong restaurant on the first and the manager checked, he personally walked us all the way to the correct restaurant on the bottom floor. He didn’t have to do that but he did and know it was really appreciated. The room itself was comfortable even if it was a weird layout (ie bathroom and sink/shower were two different rooms). But it was nothing that was a dealbreaker. My family and I are already talking about visiting Lourdes again and staying at this same hotel. Highly recommend.

The location of Hotel Gallia & Londres is fantastic—right alongside the Grotto, so it couldn’t be more convenient. Our room faced the street but was lovely and quiet at night, which was a big plus. Breakfast was good and gave us a good start to the day.
The day staff were friendly and welcoming, but the night staff were very abrupt and came across as quite unfriendly. After a long day of travelling, a warmer welcome in the evening would have made a big difference.
The WiFi was practically non-existent, and there is no coverage which can be frustrating at times.
Daniella truly stood out during our stay. She treated the needs of guests and the hotel as if they were her own. At one point, the lift wasn’t working, which would have been very difficult for my mum who has mobility issues. Once I told Daniella, she managed to get it sorted within 10 minutes. She was understanding, compassionate, and communicated wonderfully—she really made a difference to our stay.
The hotel itself is okay, but there are areas that could be improved. The cleaning wasn’t up to standard—one of the blankets even had someone’s used plaster on it. Also, when I asked to borrow a bowl and spoon, the manager told me I would need to buy them instead from the hotel.
Overall, Daniella’s excellent service deserves recognition, but the hotel itself could use more attention to detail.
This is a great hotel that is a mix of new and old wings. Both wings are served by three lifts but one lift goes up to 5th floor and the other two go up to the sixth floor.
The rooms and general area are kept clean. The staff are very polite and helpful but most of breakfast staff lack command of English. The facilities in the room are good but bath very slippery and there’s no bath mat provided. The shower hose is in the bath. There was no separate shower in the room.
It was so odd to note the toilet bowl was in separate toilet room but the bidet was positioned in the bathroom next to the bath in another room.
On the sixth floor you have to negotiate few steps, up and down, between the two different lifts.
The location is excellent next to all the religious sites and facilities.
A historical hotel near the Lourdes Basilica. My room have a balcony overlooking the street outside. 5 star rating for the location as it is really close by the basilica and loads of restaurant and stores nearby.
Room is a bit old with a very old matress. They should be able to upgrade and clean it a bit. Amenities are just okay.

Receptions are not welcoming and did not explain where the elevator are. Just okay for the location only.
Location is great. All the staff are very helpful and friendly. They have parking lot and it will cost you 30 euro per night. There is 2 tower, one tower with 4 digits room number located on the lobby tower. And 3 digits room number will go to next tower. Wifi very slow, almost no signal when we in the room. Strong signal is on the lobby.
My room has been clearly renovated, was clean and has balcony. Supreme location just a stone throw from grotto main entrance, shops and restaurants. Pleasant 2 nights stay in Lourdes.
The rooms were very spacious, clean, newly renovated. I was very happy with the rooms were we stayed. The AC was very cold which was very much appreciated since it was very hot outside making it very comfortable. Super happy with this hotel and have been recommending it to family and friends.

Visited this famous Catholic Christian Church while I was in south of France for attending a training programme. This was sometime in mid February. I was not much aware of this place before I reached here. And to my surprise there were many Indians visiting. Even many Indian hotels and restaurants are here. The ground water from the church is considerd holy and there are documented incidents of miracles happening. Candle march in late evening is truly out of the world experience.
I am not much of a believer in miracles but still I recommend this place for a visit for feeling the holy vibes. High speed trains from the center of Paris can be taken to reach here. Enjoy the surrounding areas also and the small castle on the top of a hill in front of the Church.
The whole complex at Lords is an extraordinary feet of architecture. Built at the top of the mountain at the base of which the grotto sits. It has fairly simple architecture, but is richly decorated. We ordered a Squid Ink Paella which was lovely (our favourite dish), Pizza Jazz and the Duck Confit. The skin was perfectly crisped but maybe that made the meat dry and it was also a bit salty.
All in all, we enjoyed our meal here~ The menu also had translation for a variety of languages, which made ordering easier. ☺️
This place has no business -no pun intended- using the name of New Orleans 👎. It's a disgrace to name and people of New Orleans. The vibrant and globally popular culture of New Orleans is a result of Black American creations such as Jazz, Creole etc, and thus was disappointed to be served by rude French middle aged men rude to ethnic foreigners.
Our initial excitement going to place was quickly watered down like damp squib when the staff were cold and mean spirited.
We gave benefit of doubt that it was one person, however as we noticed no smiles and lack of answering menu concerns, a rude waiter Lubi speaking to us in French and pretending not to understand English, even though it's tourist attraction, only for him to speak English to other customers, we knew this place wasn't right.
Laughable how they have Black American legends throughout their restaurant like Lious Armstrong, when their staffers have no kindness. Food was mediocre. Only thing New Orleans is cultural appropriation and poorly done 👎.
A great place to have delicious food and wine and lot more. The special Paella dish is so good and the service is fast from very attentive and well dressed staff.

We were a party of seven dining here, and unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. My 12-year-old daughter ordered a plain bacon cheeseburger just beef, bacon, and cheese. Sounds simple enough, right? Well, the first burger came out as a chicken sandwich. We assumed it was a language barrier issue and were understanding. Our server was very apologetic and quickly took it back.
Thirty minutes passed. By the time my daughter’s food finally arrived, the rest of us had already finished eating and to make it worse, her burger came out with just a bun and meat. No bacon. No cheese. At that point, we weren’t about to wait another 30 minutes. We told her to just eat it, but she didn’t like it at all, which only made the situation worse.
When I went to pay, I let the server know the food wasn’t eaten and explained why. Again, he apologized and tried to take care of it. Unfortunately, the manager (or who seemed to be the manager) stepped in, and his attitude was the final straw. He was rude, dismissive, and completely unapologetic. He didn’t try to make things right instead, he just told me to fill out a comment card if I wanted to complain. I told him not to worry, Google does a better job at letting people know what to expect.
I genuinely felt bad for our server, who was trying to help, but the lack of accountability and courtesy from management was unacceptable. Save yourself the money and frustration, Lourdes has plenty of better restaurants to choose from that this one.

I was initially sitting where a menu for paella, however it said on the board Grill etc. So I went to the counter to ask if they had a grill menu and I was told off!!! You take a seat and wait. "Go sit down" (arms crossed and grumpy face). Given a basic menu..... Didn't include any drinks. And I had to ask for this - again I was given attitude and then questioned re requesting a hot chocolate and a bailies. The chicken burger was crumbed and overcooked, and the chips not good. Way way overpriced.
Great service, very good food! I,had Paella Fruits de Mer. The rice was perfectly cooked and spiced well. The shrimp and langoustine were overcooked, but the calamari could not have been better! Overall, a fine dish! Felipe was helpful with my VERY basic French and spoke English very well. I will be back again!
The waiter was Portuguese so easier for us to communicate. It was right outside our hotel. It is open late. The spaghetti was decent. The Paella is my recommendation. It hit the spot after a long drive. They have beer but not really any mixed drinks. After the procession we came back to have crepes and a milkshake. It is also reasonably priced.

We were a group of 13 (mostly English, three fluent French speakers), and had booked ahead for our final holiday meal en route to Lourdes/Bordeaux. On the phone, a booking of 13 was “no problem” — but on arrival we were met with irritation, no greeting, and told we’d have to sit split across the restaurant despite empty tables. Only when another table left were we finally seated together.
From there, the service was rushed and unfriendly. We were told to “hurry” because the kitchen was closing, despite having a reservation. Orders were taken moodily, with no smiles or welcome.
The real issue came with the menu. A poke bowl listed as chicken or trout (with rice, mango, veg etc) arrived as breaded chicken — not stated on the menu, which was chosen specifically as a gluten-free option. When we politely raised this, the dish was snatched away mid-sentence, with the waiter refusing to listen. It was returned minus the chicken, leaving only plain veg, and when we asked to change the order we were told “the kitchen is closed.” I was left with no meal at all on our last meal together.
Meanwhile, other diners around us (locals) were served with smiles and conversation, which made the hostility towards us even starker. The only positive was one younger staff member, who remained polite and professional throughout.
Sadly, in such a beautiful location, the service was the rudest and most unwelcoming we’ve experienced. For us, it turned what should have been a special farewell meal into a very unpleasant memory.
Drove here 30 minutes to find it closed at 5:30pm. Update your Google listing to prevent people from wasting their time.
This is a very beautiful location to visit. Not only is it right along the water to feel the nice cool air and beautiful scenery. But the food was very fresh and full of flavor.
The staff speaks English, French and they accept card as well. It is a very lively place with people going to he lake to fish and enjoy the good food. A MUST if your looking to get some good time out and enjoy the scenery.
As for the food. I asked for a recommendation dish I was given the 300g steak. It was very tasty I couldn't choose between the pepper or mushroom sauce so they gave me both. It was so tasty I preferred the pepper sauce for the taste and the zing it had. As for dessert it was a lemon item. He told me it in French but it was Similar to a cheesecake but way better.
As for the review I would give the place a 7.6 out of 10 on that 🔥 scale. They gave the dessert for free and the flavors of the food was great. Definitely would go here again if I had the opportunity.

"Au Mouton des Pyrénées" is a sublime shop offering a range of impressive hand-made products, although sizes are somewhat limited. The friendly staff and high-quality items make it an excellent store with relatively expensive but quality products. It has a large selection of Pyrenean goods and offers splendid views. In addition to quality leather bags, it also provides free Port tasting and sells delicious Basque specialties.
A sublime shop with prices to beat all competition. The staff are friendly and very helpful/ the range of producrs (hand made) is impressive. The range in sizes is (of nescessity) limited. As items are hand made and stocked on display you may have to make a small compromise on design to get your correct size. The sizes are shown as T followed by a number, 1 being the smallest T is short for taille (size) in French.
How they produce such high quality goods at these prices is amazing, I can not make anything, but my wife is knowledgable, and she was severaly impressed. Really a 'must visit' shop.

Amazing food and serious professional service by the owners. The price is reasonable and waiting time completely justified by the quality of food, you know they make it to order and not simply reheated in the microwave. We were only in and around Lourdes for 3 days and after having a wonderful first meal we immediately booked dinner for the following night.

I ordered their set menu which had an anchovy appetizer, small squid in linguine, and a chocolate dessert. Squid was cooked in garlic and was very flavorful and tender; the linguine was a bit dry. Great staff; warm and Cosy atmosphere. Our group of five were easily seated despite not having a reservation. The pavlova dessert was excellent!
We stopped here for lunch today before heading back to Spain. We really enjoyed our lunch. Delicious lamb stew and pork cheeks both accompanied by a fresh mashed potato. A glass of house red wine and a plate of delicious cheese completed our lunch. A place to highly recommend when visiting Lourdes.
We spent a week in Lourdes recently and very much enjoyed a dinner at O Piment Rouge. This is a Basque style restaurant situated along Rue de la Grotte. The interior is nicely decorated, there is a fair amount of seating and table spacing is good. I'd recommend making reservations as they were full up on the evening that we dined there.
On the occasion, we ordered the Duck Confit (leg) as well as the Duck Breast both served with fries. The confit had crispy skin, succulent and flavourful meat. The duck breast was beautifully grilled at medium-rare with a delightful reddish pink centre. It tasted excellent. Both dishes were worth returning to reorder. House wine and Basque style custard cake served on the evening were worth returning for as well.
Overall, this was a great restaurant and meal, one easily worth recommending in Lourdes.
We ordered the menu with a soup, tagliatelle with calamari and ice cream. All 3 options were very bad. The soup had no flavor (it tasted like water), the calamari was very chewy with a flavor of burnt garlic and the ice cream tasted old and had crystals of frozen water on it. Really bad experience, I don’t recommend.

Very pleasant surprise in the center of Lourdes. This small but cozy pizzeria, makes pizzas unlike any I've tasted before, adding personal twists that really enhance their craft. The staff also speaks English extremely well and are very friendly.
This place was conveniently located a stone's throw away from our stay and we decided to stop by. My family and I were pleasantly surprised by the variety on the menu-- each option was a special surprise. If you go here, definitely go for something non-traditional and you will not be disappointed.

My husband and I stopped here with our small dog for lunch yesterday. We highly recommend this local pizza restaurant! The people were so kind and welcoming and made a table available for us with our dog. Service was excellent and with a smile, pizzas were high quality with local ingredients and so quick. This review is for the takeaway, and not the restaurant. We were staying at the Ibis Lourdes, about 4 minutes walk away. They have no restaurant and after a day at the Basilica we did not want to eat out. The staff are friendly and managed to cope with my very fractured franglish. I ordered a Pizza Margarita with added Salami, (small), for my wife and a Pizza Sicilian for myself Mine was delicious and my wife pronounced her pizza as the best she has had in a long while. I had a beer whilst waiting and it only took around 10 minutes. It was freshly cooked and not expensive.
The pizzeria is absolutely recommended if you are looking for affordable and tasty foods in Lourdes. The menu was extensive - and included pizza, salads, pasta and risotto. the staff was friendly and helpful at recommendations.
I personally recommend pizzas here. They are substantial. I would not recommend pasta or risotto because they are quite dry to my liking.
This is a brilliant place to go for Italian food. We were there twice in the three days we were in Lourdes and received a warm welcome from the owner, his wife and the chef. Pizza is up there with best we have had. Great wine as well and all at fair prices. Could not fault it and highly recommended.

Excellent restaurant to eat at when in Lourdes. The service was attentive and the food delicious. Every dish was prepared with attention. The Belgium beer we ordered was so good- authentic Belgium beer - a welcome respite from the ordinary lagers and IPAs. The veal chops I ate wee beautifully prepared, and seasoned perfectly. The gravy I got on the side was peppery and the French fries abundant. My spouse got the pizza and it was spot on perfect. The waiter was friendly and spoke perfect English. I highly recommend this location for a meal.
