I have been to several 5 star resorts in the Caribbean which have not come close in terms of the level of service we received at Ocean Point. The people are what make this hotel as incredible as it is, and we can't wait to come back.
The front desk staff are so friendly and helpful, Andre and Quame the bartenders always put a smile on your face and made delicious, strong cocktails.
Me and my partner are vegan, with him having several allergies. This is the first resort we have ever been to where we felt this was paid attention to. The food in the restaurant is fresh and tasty, with enough vegetarian and vegan options to have throughout the week without getting bored. The wait staff, Caroline, Spice, Selwyn and Elroy in restaurant, remembered our faces and went above and beyond to cater for us, and the chef Victor even prepared a special dish for us. It would have been good to have some local cuisine we could eat on the standard menu, for example to have a chickpea curry to order in the evening, but will know this for next time.
All other staff on the resort are also delightful, everybody is so friendly and polite.
The hotel is slightly tired in places but overall, it is clean, well maintained and very well decorated. The saltwater pool is large with plenty of sun beds, and even a few bali beds, although this could be cleaned more regularly . The decor has a lovely boho tropical style which fits in perfectly with the relaxed, chill vibe.
The rooms are well equipped, good working air con and very large, comfortable beds.
My only word of warning is pack extra strength mosquito spray. My usual one didnt work and i came away with several bites, but this isnt the fault of the hotel obviously, just a word of advice.
Overall we loved Antigua, we loved Ocean point and we are counting down the days until we can come back.
The staff at Ocean Point Resort were genuinely kind, welcoming, and very accommodating. The property sits on beautiful grounds and has so much potential, but sadly the resort itself is extremely worn down and in need of major updates.
Our room was spacious, but everything inside felt very old and tired. The linens and towels were thin, overwashed, and falling apart, and the mattresses were extremely uncomfortable. I also had real concerns about cleanliness, including the possibility of bed bugs. We had no hot water for the first three days, and once it finally started working, it took several minutes just to get lukewarm. The toilet ran nonstop the entire stay, and the shower tiles were cracked, stained, and generally unpleasant. Basic amenities like conditioner were also missing.
The food was unfortunately the biggest disappointment. It was some of the worst resort food we’ve ever had, and we were grateful we did not purchase the all-inclusive option. If you stay here, bring a bottle from the airport and eat at the nearby restaurants. Le Bistro is an absolute must, and Canvas was also fantastic — ask for Sabrina! I highly recommend avoiding the hotel food entirely.
For activities, water aerobics was surprisingly so much fun and definitely a highlight.
Overall, the staff are wonderful and the location has incredible potential, but the resort desperately needs significant updates and improvements before we would consider returning.
My 16-year-old daughter and I stayed at Ocean Point Resort & Spa to celebrate her birthday, and it was truly a peaceful and memorable experience from start to finish. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming — they made us feel like more than just guests. 💕
On our last day, the manager surprised us with an upgrade to a cabana with a stunning ocean view 😍. Even though it was just for one night, this thoughtful gesture turned our trip into something unforgettable. Watching the sunset from our cabana was the perfect ending to her birthday getaway. 🌅✨
The food was another highlight — fresh, personalized, and not buffet-style, which made every meal feel intimate and special. 🍽🌴
The resort still uses traditional room keys 🗝️ instead of modern key cards, which gives it an old-school Caribbean charm. The hallways are simple, with hand-painted signs for directions and even a small bookshelf tucked into a corner, adding a homely touch. 📚 The rooms are clean and practical, with wicker-style furniture, a TV, and a few personal touches like a seashell centerpiece on the patio table. 🌺
The entire atmosphere at Ocean Point is serene and calm, making it ideal for anyone looking to relax, celebrate a special occasion, or simply enjoy peace and tranquility. 🌊✨ This resort truly feels like a hidden gem in Antigua.
