I came in with my partner for our anniversary for afternoon tea, we were not asked if we were celebrating anything and this was not acknowledged-- this WAS put on the booking. My partner had to get up and find our server at one point because we were both out of tea and had finished our cups. Having automatic gratuity to recieve bad service is really disappointing-- we were also not informed that gratuity would be on the check and it is not on the booking page, only a 10$ cancelation fee per person if the booking is canceled with less than 2 days notice. He was also definitely glutened and had a reaction while we were still in the café-- I know that cross contamination can happen but he is not celiac just gluten intolerant which makes me think he had been served something that was a regular gluten item. I like to note in my reviews that we are in a queer relationship as it can lead to lack of care and service in some cases. My partner cried in the café from the treatment from the server and it is genuinely not alright that this is the service we recieved today with no offer of any compensation other than a 'sorry you weren't informed'. Edit- partner called to talk to management on the phone, where they insisted everything was gluten free and were non apologetic. He did get the gratuity back. We will not be in again.
