For Guatemala, you'll want to go to Lake Atitlan, I stayed in Pana but there are several towns that are lovely. Then go to Antigua. Then you can head to Semuc Champey, and on to Flores and Tikal.

Colombia is a country with so many things to do and every department (state) is unique. Are you looking for city life, mountains, rainforest, desert, beaches? You mentioned you are planning on going in April, keep in mind that Holly week (March 28th - April 3rd) is high season so everything is more expensive than normal.

Beautiful place! Would visit there too! Gutemala- never been, but i also have a friend from Guatemala! 🇬🇹! The Mayan ruins are amazing!

Cartagena was amazing, medellin of course and i loved salento for hiking. tayrona national park is amazing. i always used taxis or motos, ask beforehand for the prize tho otherwise it’s possible they will charge you waaay too much

I lived in Colombia for 4 months and had a diving trip planned to San Andres/Providencia but it got cancelled due to COVID-19. :( That's supposed to be the best place for diving in the whole country aside from Malpelo - which is legendary for hammerhead sharks but is very remote so it's only accessible via liveaboard. Cartagena is beautiful but avoid going out of old city wall yourself. If you are going to, take a taxi. I had a bad experience with being robbed there. Bogota - botero museum is great. Monserrate
