Shorne Woods is my dog’s favorite park! The stunning woodland is perfect for walks, and Ralph loves exploring every corner. There’s also a lovely café and a wood-fired pizza place, which is such a treat in the summer. The park offers paid parking and is wheelchair-friendly, making it accessible for everyone. It’s a popular spot, so make sure to arrive early on busy days to secure a good parking spot.
Large car park, £4. Cafe, visitor centre and toilets. Wood fired pizza shed serving very nice food and doggy ice creams. Dog friendly with off lead areas and woods to explore, plenty of poo bins scattered around. Many paths and routes to follow of varying lengths clearly marked, as well as accessible trails. Large play area and many really nice spots for a picnic.
Lovely place to spend the day with your family. Kids and pets friendly. A lot of space for walks along different trails. Brilliant playground. A lot of places suitable for picnic, where some have lots of table - benches. Strongly recommend!
Shorne Woods Country Park is a haven for nature enthusiasts and families alike, offering a wonderful escape into the outdoors. The woodland trails are a highlight, winding through ancient trees and vibrant flora, making it perfect for leisurely walks. The paths are well-marked and accessible, ensuring visitors can explore comfortably. For families, the park offers excellent facilities, including a well-equipped playground that provides hours of fun for children. Picnic areas scattered throughout the park offer picturesque spots to relax and enjoy a meal amidst nature. Overall, Shorne Woods Country Park is a gem in Kent, It's a perfect destination for a stroll, surrounded by natural beauty.
We visited Shorne Woods for a relaxing day out with our dogs, and it was absolutely beautiful. The park is well maintained, full of peaceful trails, lush greenery, and lovely open spaces where our pups had a great time walking and exploring. The car park is large, with plenty of spaces for disabled visitors, and very reasonably priced (£4.90 for the whole day). You can pay easily using the RingGo, PayByPhone, or ParkBuddy apps, which is super convenient. It was especially heartwarming to see how well our senior dog managed the walk, she seemed to know the place, almost like she'd been there before in another life! Our younger pup was full of energy and loved the areas where dogs are allowed off lead. The only downside to our visit was the café experience. Unfortunately, the service was not very friendly. The young staff seemed a bit uninterested and dismissive, which was disappointing. With such a beautiful setting, a warm welcome would make the experience complete. Still, we truly loved the park itself and would absolutely return, perhaps with a picnic next time!
Lovely stunning windy and wide paths, dosabled electric buggies are available to reserve. 3 types of playground, mot far from the car park. Theres lakes with lilly pads, and fishing is allowed. Exciting adventures walk for dogs. It is a vast park. I used to live in walking distance to it, so visited it all the time. Now I've moved, I've not been so frequently, and rediscovered it yesterday. The parking is super expensive, in my opinion. Disabled parking is not free either. They do have a lovely cafe on site and a pizza shack. Its definitely worth a visit if you can fork out £4.30 for parking on a weekend. £3.30 on weekdays. We've arrived an hour and a half before closing time and we still had to purchase the parking day ticket.
A great place for an interesting woodland wander. There is a large car park which costs £3 for the day. Very reasonable. There are a few choices of way marked paths. There are some amazing trees, bodies of water, carvings and more to see as you explore.
Was passing through and decided to park up, have a quick stretch & get some food/coffees. There was no option for shorter parking so £4.50 for a brisk stretch in the rain was overpriced. Having ordered a couple of simple sausage baguettes & 2 coffees, we were constantly hearing loud shrieking & yelling from a group of uncontrolled youth in the kitchen! The Manager had no control over these kids, especially the girl!! and having told them once should have been enough, but no, it was constant and very annoying, and his actions was not strong enough to deter them. Poor management, the kids certainly ruled the kitchen/cafe !! :( would NOT revisit nor recommend. It detracted off what we were hoping to be an enjoyable little visit.

Visited Cyclopark in Gravesend and had an amazing time! There’s something for everyone, from kids to adults, and the entry price was really reasonable. You don’t need to worry if you don’t have a bike — they offer bike and helmet hire, or you can bring your own. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the whole place felt really well set up. They also have a café on-site, though we didn’t check it out this time. Definitely worth a visit for a fun and active day out!
We go here almost every day. Whether it's for the gym or the activities for the kids. The gym is great. Hardly ever busy with all you need. From the gym to "The Garage" where they have Hyrox style equipment. The activities for the kids are great too. £7.50 for a monthly membership to take the kids to Cycloland and the ramps. Well worth it. Staff are always so friendly too. Cafe is good too
We had such a fantastic experience at the Learn to Ride lesson at the Cyclopark! The instructor Henry was incredibly patient, friendly and connected straight away with my son, who had always been very nervous about riding on his own. To our amazement, he was off and riding confidently within just 15 minutes of the lesson! We had tried so many times before without success, but Henry’s approach completely changed things. My son is now so excited about cycling and can’t wait to get back on his bike and try out the track at the Cyclopark. We’re so grateful — thank you so much for giving him this confidence!
Great Facility, loads to do for all ages and members of the family. Also holds many competitive events, one of the best venues in the south of England. Its also Floodlit in many areas, you can also use it as a base point to cycle to wider areas of the countryside, all well marked out. Very accessible and they also cater for people with all sorts of extra needs/requirements.
I went there for a bmx competition, the track is supervised and session use only. Its a hard track to ride. There are lots of thinks for non bmx riders too, a skate park, pump track, a play area a cyclo-cross circuit, a gym, a cafe. Parking is reasonably priced also, £1.90 for up to 4 hours, £7 all day
My daughter had two learn to ride lessons, the first with Henry and then with Ben. Both of them were fantastic with her. They adapted their lessons to her ability and taught her at her own pace. If your little one is struggling to learn to ride their bike this is 100% for them. Both Henry & Ben were really welcoming, gave her confidence and made the lessons fun. Huge thanks to both of them! 👏🏻
Me and my Mum go to the gym here, we have a membership, and we absolutely LOVE it! its so clean and well spaced and all the other members are so lovely and the staff are so nice too. Never had a problem there. We have done a few classes also and they're always fab! Such a great gym and area. Reasonable pricing too :) 10/10 x
Thank you cyclopark. My 5 yr old grandson had 2 learn to ride sessions & now He Can Do it, all on his own!!! Brilliant teaching . Sensitive, encouraging & positive interactions from both teachers.

I came around the corner, and I was stunned. It takes your breath away. As a temple, it must be one of the most impressive structures I have ever seen of this nature. The share size of the building plus the architecture are something to behold.
Beautiful place and architecture they made me feel very welcome. Te place is very clean, you must remove your shoes before entering to the temple and cover your hair… They’re are many places where you can was your hands I think is part of the culture. Food is served for free I could not believe that and it was delicious vegetarian curries . The toilets were clean. They have parking and nice grounds to walk around
Always very serene and peaceful. Great atmosphere, excellent architecture, and very helpful granthis and sevadaars. I am always able to meditate and connect with Guru in the main sanctum sanctorum. The langar hall and the corridors with the photo commentary complement the praying space very well.
I visited for the first ever time for a wedding. Absolutely stunning architecture which has you in awe as soon as you're pulling in towards the car park. The beautiful visuals continue as you enter the Gurdwara, and more importantly of course, the peaceful aura of where you are, in a home of divinity. Sadly, the same positivity can not be extended to the people involved with running things here. After paying my respects to SGGS, I was leaving but a relative briefly stopped me to speak to me. In this moment I had a lapse of thinking and forgot I still had my back turned to SGGS for around 10-20 seconds. I fully admit my mistake. I felt a firm shove in my back and turned around to see one of their administrators who then rudely and aggressively told me to get out because they wanted to empty the hall quickly for the next event. Out of surprise, I instinctively replied "sorry?". He repeated himself again, this time in English, and more disrespectfully than before, but now added that I'd also had my back turned to SGGS and reprimanded me for it. Out of shock and respect for the surroundings, I quietly left without resorting to responding in the same manner. My father (who has taken amrit) was furious when he heard about this, and said I should've retaliated. I must also mention that the Anand Karaj and the rest of the ceremony was by far the lengthiest I've ever sat through. Everyone was amazed by how long it was drawn out, so if it's about business and venue turnover, he should look at the lack of efficiency there. I later found out the same man had angrily reprimanded a photographer for getting the groom to pose in front of the building outside, because of his back being to the Gurdwara. At this point I would suggest walking backwards when you're leaving. In all honesty, this kind of approach is going to drive people in this area away from Sikhi. For the part where I absent-mindedly made a mistake, there are much better ways of handling it. If he does this to the wrong person, there will be a jaloose incident which will make the community look terrible. Such a bitter end to what had been a lovely day here.
What a beautiful and divine place of worship #sikhgurudwara🙏
Such a beautiful temple. My friend took us round. Was so relaxing and felt totally chilled out in there. The food from the kitchen was lovely to. Definitely worth a visit would love to come back again
Awesome place, a sacred gem in Kent. The atmosphere and architecture is superb.
Even though I'm not Sikh, I respect all people's beliefs. I originally visited this Gurdwara in 2010, for work reasons, and I fell in love with it ever since. It took a while, but I finally managed to get the family together to come visit it again in Oct-24. I have never felt any hostility from any Sikhs I've met or are close to me, and this place is a true representation of who the Sikhs are... they are kind, warm-hearted, generous, peaceful, and loving people. Thank you for the unconditional hospitality on our visit here.

It’s a tragic story, not as nice as the cartoon would have you believe. This graveyard is the final resting place of Pocahontas. The actual grave has been lost to history when the church burnt down. All the gravestones have been pushed to the side of the graveyard and a new church built. The statue honours Pocahontas
We went in the dark and she could do with some lights! You could still see the outline of the statue and that it was Pocohontas. There is a nearby bench for a nice sit down and to soak in the greatness of the moment, and sing Colours of the Wind. Very easy to find, was well signposted from all around the town and was not far from the river.
The story is sad and not as cheerful as the cartoon shows. This graveyard marks where Pocahontas was buried, though the exact grave was lost when the church burned down. Gravestones were moved to the side, and a new church was built. The statue is there to honour her.
Have not been to Gravesend many times in my life, but had to visit the famous Pocahontas statue in St George's church. Great statue with so much history. We made our way to Pocahontas statue via "Church Aly (Google Maps spelling) " must be one of the narrowest allys I have walked see photo.
Beautiful statue and beautiful grounds, the sign outside the gate of the church was very informative and overall the statue is a amazing show of respect for this amazing young woman , I came here to see my childhood and adult obsession and pay respects and I wasn't displeased at all. It is definitely worth seeing if you enjoy reading about Pocahontas and her life.
Peaceful place to visit in Gravesend. Has some great historical significance especially if you are American.
Gravesend is full of interesting stories. Relaxing environment and cleaned.
I was so excited to come here and see Pocahontas (statue) but it looks so abandoned. Nobody taking care of the statue etc... I had fun though!

I enjoyed my trip over the Thames and the staff were very helpful. Sadly this was one of the last trips of the service, which was finished at the end of March 2024. There is currently no other way to get from Tilbury to Gravesend without over an hours journey into London or by using the hourly bus over the Elizabeth Bridge
Took the ferry from Tilbury to Gravesend pier, paid £4 for a return ticket, good friendly staff. A calm 6 minute journey.
Ferry crossing fine, not much to do around the ferry terminal. The pedestrian walk way to terrafermer has some great art work in the glass window. Asda is a short bus ride away. You can see Tilbury International terminal and you are a 10 - 15 minute walk from Tilbury Fort.
Get a return off peak return from Tilbury to Gravesend for only £4. Ferry's run every half an hour all day . It a lovely journey and it's only 10 mins . Parking here is free but gets full so plan ahead. Alternative free parking is available at World's End Pub just 5 mins walk away. Gravesend is a historic place full of old cobbled streets and an indoor market. There are free toilets and a small shopping center. Lots of lovely cafés . Definitely worth a day out for exploring.
Great place to come and watch the river traffic! If your fortunate you will also see the cruise ships up close.
Great little ferry service. Saved me loads of time getting into Kent.
Regular small ferry across the Thames. My handcycle fit fine, crew were friendly and helpful too, thanks Capt. Liam!
The ferry was quick and efficient, and the staff were amazing, but now the service from Gravesend to Tilbury has been suspended. Unfortunately, people who need to reach Gravesend now need to take a bus from Lakeside to bluewater and then change for a local bus. Uber boat by Thames Clippers will run a summer service from Gravesend/Tilbury to London this summer

Yeh it needs an update. Yeh it’s not as super fancy as some other pools. But I went here with my 6 year old. And he bloody loved it !!!
I went back after about 30 years given or take with my son and I can only say good things about the place really as it is as much fun now for my son as it was for me. Nothing has really changed and I think it's been very well maintained to be in the condition it's in. There is a small bar which seemed understaffed, my only criticism, with high noise levels it was difficult to get any attention which actually made me question whether it was open. An error was made with booking, my fault totally but they couldn't have handled it better. They seem to have a very young team but everyone seemed happy to help and happy in their job which is always nice to see. Very friendly and fun atmosphere, we're looking forward to a return visit. On a side note, if anyone like me returns as an adult with memories of the water slides, good luck. 38 year old me did not handle the typhoon as well as 10 year old me did ...... 🤦🏼‍♂️
Swimming lessons are ridiculous, the girls there are useless. My opinion only. They don't pay attention to the kids. They don't even teach then anything. 30min for nothing. I will not recommend it. They focus on kids where they can't even get in water. And they leave the other kids behind. Totaly wrong.
I am very disappointed with the service at Cascades Leisure Centre. I spent the entire day trying to call the centre, yet not a single call was answered. This is completely unacceptable for a public-facing business that parents and members rely on. When I came in to drop my daughter for her swimming lesson, I asked Becky why no one answers the phone. Her response was, “If I’m not busy, I answer. I was busy.” This was shocking to hear — it shows a lack of professionalism and disregard for customers. Answering calls is not optional; it is a basic responsibility of any leisure centre. The fact that such an important line of communication is being ignored raises serious concerns about how the centre is being managed. It is frustrating, time-wasting, and creates unnecessary stress for parents. Cascades needs to urgently review its customer service standards and take responsibility for ensuring phones are properly staffed and answered. At present, this level of service is far below what the community deserves.
Horrible experience: dirty dangerous areas designated for "dressing rooms" and "showers'. There are no shower cubicles, there are no dressing cubicles, it is stinky, I wonder how people take there kids, there are no facilities for disabled people. It is just literally a splash big pool with slides like in an amusing park. In the amusing park it is safer and clearer at that
Such a great way to kick off the weekend! I finally made it back to spin class after so many years—and I’m so glad I did! Starting my Saturday morning with Fumi’s class was 100% worth it. The energy was amazing, the playlist was on point, and Fumi brought just the right mix of motivation and fun. I felt challenged but completely uplifted by the end. Great vibes, great workout, and a really welcoming atmosphere. Can’t wait for next week!
Had not been there for a couple of years. Booked in for 12noon, not too many people so was able to swim around. Most of the kids were on the flumes. Still in need a bit an upgrade.
Great place to visit if you are looking for a leisure centre. Has everything you would need. Staff are so polite and happy to help you.
