Amazing place. Was moved by the short movie and am thankful for their sacrifice. Staff were very friendly and spoke English. The centre had lots of useful information and was beautifully set up. The guest book also made me tear up, reading all the entries from relatives of the war vets and those who gave up their lives. We will remember them.
Commemative museum detailing Canadian involvement in various campaigns including D-day and the landings on Juno beach. 12 mins film very poignant. Well laid out and a lot of information Good location adjacent to the beach. Shop selling Canadian products as well as books etc regarding the landings.
First the Canadian government ought to staff this, the same way they do Vimy. I assume they heavily subsidize the non-profit but still. Our tour must have had 30 people in tight little bunkers. Compared to our 4 person tour at Vimy it felt too cramped and not intimate enough when talking about the impact of war. The museum had lots of things to look at but it felt disorganized and your attention is drawn in too many directions. The wall that casts names of those who passed was exceptional and the techito find family members was amazing. Being from the North it was nice to see indigenous people recognized both with the inukshuk and the poppies. And having worked at CFB Trenton for many years it was nice to see an air force exhibit.
I proudly remember contributing financially to the Juno Beach Center in the 1990s when it was just a dream. Now that I've seen it first hand I can say, wholeheartedly, that it was worth every penny! The building is beautiful and the exhibits inside and outside the structure are poignant, informative and patriotic. Allow yourself several hours to view the exhibits and the bunkers outside. As a proud Canadian and former member of the Canadian Armed Forces, I considered this visit to be a trip of a lifetime. It did not disappoint. Hats off to the wonderful staff!
As a Canadian I was very moved by the exhibits regarding our participation in the D-day landings. It also dealt with the period leading up to when Canada joined the war as well as the fighting and battles that took place during the war. I enjoyed the way that they worked on having exhibits that kids would also learn from. We were at the centre on the 81st anniversary of the D-day invasion and took in the ceremony of Remembrance. It is very touching to see how grateful the people are for the help that Canada sent to free them from the Nazi occupation. I recommend to anyone that they should go here if they are visiting the D-day Beach region in Normandy.
A well thought out museum related to the Canadian support to WW2 provides background material and how as a nation they stood up in quick order to assist.
We visited on June 6th, D-day. It was an amazing experience for us as Canadians. We took the bunker tour and attended the memorial ceremony. It was very emotional for us because of a personal connection.
The centre was fine, however I thought it was too wide ranging. Material covered Canadian political and military history from the 1800's to present day, which limited the coverage of the D-Day landings, which I thought would be the core theme. I was more moved by the informal memorial nearby at the beach, scallop shells, poppies, individual mementos.

The women working here are so competent and kind and helpful. They are passionate about la Normandie and willing to go the extra mile to help. They helped us with several suggestions and most significantly helped us find a van to take us to Paris to our next hotel. We had not been able to do so online and at the tourist office several of the workers were on different phones simultaneously calling to try to book us a transfer. They went way above and beyond and ended up finding us a perfect arrangement for several hundred (!) euros cheaper than what our friends had arranged. Can’t recommend enough the competence and kindness.
A beautiful picturesque seaside village famous for having "Juno Beach" where Canadian Forces landing during the D Day attacks. The village is spotless with plenty of places to eat and a weekly market. Buses to the surrounding villages are regular and on time. The locals are very invested in D Day with streets named Place de June 4th 1944 etc. As you walk round the village you will see groups of two foot high chest and shoulder shots of military men at junctions and streets, it took me a while to realize these were pics of the actual soldiers who fell during the D Day battles at those particular spots. Some tanks and military vehicles have been reclaimed and restored. The local D Day military Cemetrys are sombre and poignant and maintained to a degree that shows the gratitude of the French people even 80 years later. A must for any military history buff.
We came over in June for the D Day 75 commemorations with our Dad who is 95 years old, and needed a car pass which was proving difficult to find. The office was extremely helpful and arranged for one to be sent ahead to our hotel in another town. It made our travels on the day much easier, and we had an amazing week in Normandy. Thank you to Claire and her colleagues from a very happy Veteran and his family!
Tourist center as one imagines. All good, pleasant and helpful with everything. I needed to charge my phone and stay for about two hours. It was no problem. It is one of few places in Normandy where you can speak English😁
I visited twice, once to find out about bus schedules and once to learn about where the bus stops in C-Sur-Mer. Helpful staff!
People and information are very helpful here. Nice place
Like all tourist offices on France they have very good advice on what to see in the area

From my background reading, I learned that this cross was a Christian symbol used by Joan of Arc which was subsequently adopted by the French freedom fighters in opposition to the Nazis swastika. Beautiful location, looking over the sandunes of Juno Beach and one of many memorials within walking distance of each other to those who fought in the D-day landings. Free to visit
we visited as art of the 80th anniversary. nothing much happening here as far as events go. you can walk right up to the Churchill tank, the beach is a bit more stoney than gold or sword. a nice and interesting memorial
Interesting place to visit with so many memories of the awful period in 1944.
Small memorial site with a nice beach and plenty of parking
Gaullist historical revisionism issues aside, it is worth a visit if you are interested in WW2, particularly if you are Canadian and visiting the nearby Juno Beach Center as it is a short walk from the parking lot. If you are interested in Polish history and the Free Polish Forces in WW2 there is also a small but tasteful memorial nearby. Some preserves military vehicles are also around and it is a short drive to the two primary British landing sites if you are in the area. Don't miss the views of the Mulberry Port remnants from Gold Beach near Arromanches if you are into military engineering! And the American LZs are close by and worth it if you have time.
We visit the cross in the morning. There was enough parking place. No other facilities at the site.
An absolute must for those with any tie to a family history of military service. Emotionally captivating to imagine the struggle and strife to have occurred during WWII. Amazing to see how the French government and internationally affiliated organizations work to preserve and protect the integrity of the region.

Fresh fish, lots of choice
An iconic spot in Le Havre. It's always a pleasure to discover the day's catch and chat with the vendors and fishermen. Guaranteed freshness and unbeatable prices. A highly recommended spot during the scallop season. You can find all kinds of fish from the Normandy Channel there. A huge thank you to all the staff who dedicate themselves every day to this market!
You can find there great products. Fresh fish and stuff just brought from there sea. Always when i am in Le Havre I buy some time to go there.
by noon almost everyone is gone, there was no food there just couple vendors left
A great place to buy fish and other produits de la mer at a good price: sole mackeral rays shark eel and lots of others. They will cut off heads and pull off skin or scales as you wish. Very worthwhile. Go in the morning.
Super fresh fish and sea food with reasonable price. My favorite place in Le Havre. Thursday and Saturday there will also be someone selling vegetables and fruits. Sometimes (Saturday?) there will be an atelier of sea food there. In principle, fishes are catches the early morning in coastal water in Normandie. (as far as I know, some fishing boats go Etretat.) Search "normandie pêche" to find out what we can expect to buy there. Language won't be a problem. My mum succeeds easily to do the trading with body language and calculator. Well, but be careful, you need to prepare fishes and sea foods by yourself. So ask the name of what you buy and search on YouTube. I lived near there for one year and almost ate fishes every day for that year. Hope you enjoy as me!

This jetty is at the entrance of the harbour. Great views of the surrounding beach, which was Juno Beach during D-day. When I visited lots of people on it watching the sunset. Free to visit.
