A hidden gem in the Swiss Alps, Gletschergarten Cavaglia offers a serene and breathtaking natural experience. Easily accessible via the Bernina Railway, it's a short walk from the train station, making it an ideal stop for nature lovers and hikers. The glacier-carved formations and impressive ‘Gletschertöpfe’ are the standout attractions, beautifully displayed for visitors to admire.
The scenic valley, flowing stream, and well-indicated paths create a pleasant atmosphere, especially during the off-season, when crowds are minimal. While some guides and additional amenities may be available during peak season, this visit was quiet and self-guided. There is also an adjacent gorge worth exploring, if time allows.
One minor consideration is for dog owners—some sections feature metal mesh stairs, which could be challenging for certain pets. Despite that, this spot is highly recommended for a peaceful outdoor experience with stunning geological features.
