My husband and I throughly enjoyed our visit on a beautiful fall day. It was 1/2 price for seniors was an unexpected bonus. We arrived earlier afternoon and it was a leisurely walk through most of the village. This is just a sample of a few places. Over 40 buildings.
Realistic recreation of a early century village. Some of the time period tools and equipment were really interesting and all powered by animal or human. The wood lathe with the foot treadle and leather belt blew me away, although I did not get to see it in action as the representative was on break. The staff were all engaging and knowledgeable on their respective cradlfts. Definitely recommend stopping by.
Old Sturbridge Village is a true treasure for anyone who loves stepping back in time. This living history museum is beautifully done — from the authentic buildings to the period clothing, everything is designed to immerse you in the early 19th century. Most of the staff were friendly, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. They were eager to share stories and fun facts about daily life in the 1830s, which made the experience feel alive and personal. The only reason I wouldn’t give it a full five stars is that a few of the “characters” didn’t seem all that enthusiastic about their roles. It wasn’t enough to ruin the experience, but it did make certain areas feel less engaging than others. Still, wandering through this recreated New England village — where mills once turned, blacksmiths shaped iron, and communities thrived — was an unforgettable experience. It’s easy to imagine what life might have been like here nearly two centuries ago. If you love history, this is an absolute must-visit, and I’d highly recommend setting aside plenty of time to explore every corner.
Historic village with restored buildings and staff that represent life in New England in the 1830s. Very educational, beautiful grounds. Fun way to step back in time and enjoy the day. Shops sell items made in the pottery shop and the tin shop. The pottery studio and printshop were our favorites, because of the interaction with staff. Everyone we met was knowledgeable and friendly.
This post is specifically regarding the phantoms by firelight event during Halloween season after the museum is officially closed. It was by far my husband and my favorite part of visiting (primarily Newport, RI). The scenery is beautiful and seeing the history reflected in clothes, architecture, tools and crafts is just so neat. The themes of the event were on the darker side of things, which is expected for Halloween, but it was appropriate for the time periods, not grotesque and no jump scares. Tastefully done. The event started at 4:30 and the parking attendants were not set up until maybe 4:45pm. They should really have people there assessing the parking well before the event because there were tons of spots randomly open but by that time group mentality sets in and you tend to follow the car in front of you. We had intended to eat at the event but the lines were super long. Not all good stands have the same items so we walked to the side stands and we're disappointed to see you can only get basic theme park food that wasn't gluten free friendly. I was willing to just eat some chips or popcorn but my husband didn't want to spend half an hour waiting for an expensive sandwich that wasn't going to even fill him up. More food tents and options would be nice. We ended up leaving around 6pm to get food which was a bummer.
I have been here several times with my husband's family and I am always impressed by how beautiful it is. I appreciate that the animals are well taken care of and that the staff are all very friendly. This is a lovely place to visit with children or anyone curious about how different "old world" trades worked.
Fabulous experience. You SEE how various tools and daily chores get accomplished. And start understanding how interconnected each person, and their particular trade / skill set is beneficial and supports the community. A Living Museum. Much better than just walking through a display without seeing the tools and trades in action.
Very interesting and historic. Be sure to ride the horse-drawn carriage around the lake and through a covered bridge. Living history museum throughout with staff in costumes. We were very fortunate to visit during the cow parade art installation.

Park is Small But Mighty in its Experience and Maintenance... 100 % Accessible... Great for families and all ages. Park is Immaculate and true little Gem.
Clean restrooms, spacious tent spots, water is decent for boating/kayaking/paddleboarding. Small beach area for the kids. Each spot comes with a grill and a fireplace. Nice walking trails throughout.
The campground is located on a large pond, we were in site 17 and had a view of that pond from our campsite. Went for a loop hike along the pond and then down an old road that was lined with rock walls. It was very peaceful walking through the woods. Overall, there was a little bit of road noise in the campground and along the trail, but we got used to it. Close to shopping and restaurants in nearby town
Not RV friendly. We were boondocking, so carefully choose your site if you need solar. Bathrooms semi modern, not much shower privacy, only 1 shower was operational on the women's side.
This is the 3rd time we went there and every time it got buggier. We love outdoors but this park is infested with mosquitoes. The pond is clean, with a small swimming area. Employees are active during the day and the bathroom near the pond is clean and maintained. The noise from the highway is loud and constant night and day especially at night more noticeable. Giving 4 stars because it is indeed a nice park, campsites are maintained and staff was nice. The road noise and the mosquitoes were annoying.
We loved visiting this state park , it was full of lots of wildlife and lots of beautiful scenery. I definitely recommend stopping here if you’re looking for a nice area to go walking.
This is a lovely, rustic State Park. It is important to know that you will hear traffic from the Mass Pike the majority of the time, no matter where you are in the campground, whether, hiking or camping. The roads to the majority of the campsites are narrow and overhung with trees, so really not a best fit for big rigs. There will be leveling involved at most sites if you have a camper. Walker Pond is a very nice paddle. The hiking trails for the most part are maintained and well marked. Be sure you use their map and not your GPS as some older trails are no longer marked and are no longer clear. Staff is very pleasant. The campground is neat. The bathrooms are in need of some maintenance and upgrading, especially the one in the upper area away from the pond.
Nice campground. Showers need to be updated desperately. Otherwise had a wonderful time. Site 51

I have never been to a place more peaceful than this. It absolutely changed me and I’m so glad I was able to visit and will be visiting again. It’s unreal to me how beautiful this place is, it’s like something out of a dream for me.
When you know that your prayers are answered 🙏 😌 🙌 ✨️ ❤️ Love to share this place with others. Prayer for others and hope someone prays for you. If you need something desperately for yourself, go up the ramp, light a candle (need to bring some $ dollars), and honesty is always the 'best' policy. Then kneel infant of Saint Anne and read the prayer. Do follow up with actions & prayers, helping others without reward, and please, just be kind. Walk in calmness, pray for peace, and ask for forgiveness. Namaste 💗
Peaceful and beautiful grounds and grottos. Outdoor stations of the Cross, prayer spaces, and meditation gardens. Wonderful Parish! The Gift Shop has a full selection of Catholic items suitable for all. Overall lovely place.
Cute little church in the hillside. We visited from out of town and we were received with joy and kindness. Priest and Deacon were very friendly and happy to talk about our travels with us. There is an absolutely beautiful stations of the cross that weaves up the hillside and a crucifix on the top of the hill that seems to be a local wonder. Beautiful place.
Beautiful Shrine. Sunday Mass is outside under a large pavilion from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. Outdoor paved Station of the Cross. Gift shop has something for everyone.
Just beautiful. Many miracles get answered through Jesus !! Fall is just amazing here. Photo by Jim Hennessy
Wonderful Catholic Church, Shrine and Gift shop!
Quiet, peaceful place to reflect, slow down, reconnect. You can walk the beautiful grounds and lovely gardens. Plenty of benches to sit and think. Visit the shrine, leave a prayer request. There is also a small gift shop with beautiful icons. A very nice place to see.

Top quality for a meager price. Have attend many productions and found everyone to be tasteful, high quality productions that entertained fully. I would recommend this theater to all who love live stage whether comedy, drama or musical. I live 800 plus miles from theater and still attend 3 to 4 shows each year.
Good space for a night out. Cost for a seat is relative to the quality of the show. Its not Broadway but real fun bunch of people who make it happen. We go to most the shows every year. Small space so all seats are good.
This is a great little theater. There are no bad (obstructed view) seats. Prices are reasonable. They do charge extra for credit card purchases. We have enjoyed many of their productions over the years.
This is our favourite place to go on date night or to take family out. They always put on great shows for a small theater company. The service is always genuinely friendly and snacks after always good.
The play we saw was verth good. Actors are energized and professional. Theater is limited and parking can be tight. Overall, if you like amateur theater this is an excellent venue
All the shows I've seen have been amazing quality. The actors are great, and the sets and costumes are wonderful!
All the plays here are great, it's not very big to so any seat is good. Everything is at a fair price, highly recommend it.
Wonderful show! Just saw Spitfire Grill and the girl who played Percy was amszing!

I come to this indoor flea market every week. This place always has cool treasures in each different booth. Tons of gifts and handmade furniture. Tons of awesome vendors with toys, video games, cards, and collectibles. There is something for everybody. The woman that runs it is always friendly to deal with.
I wish I could say it was good haven't been back in 10 years maybe it's rose colored glasses but this was complete trash. Nothing special the bottom floor was mostly empty but there's signs saying they are looking for vendors talk to owner we did he asked what we sell than complained cause some of what we sell is toys. Dude I have a massive sports collection pops video games furniture I probably have more than you do but told no cause of small amount of toys. Very disappointed owner not friendly cashier not friendly old woman who showed me Mickey super
Great people and always a great experience. All of the staff is helpful and friendly!
Be careful at this place the stickers that they have on their products are not printed well and misrepresent the price. MY WIFE and I went and purchased East an item that we thought was three dollars because of the miss printing on the ticket, but it was actually rung up as eight dollars Handed the woman the cash. She handed us the receipt back and we were still out the counter. We noticed a discrepancy and she refused to refund the money saying all sales are final. Smiling like a witch like she got over on us we will never be back and will be sure to steer people away from Place. We have been picking antiques for 40 years and never experienced such a deceitful business practice not a lot of money but on principal terrible way to do business, especially when I dropped nearly 100 bucks on a bunch of comics
I go here a lot and always find something that peeks my interest. If you know what you are looking at you can always find good deals. Staff is very friendly as well.
Ever heard of a FLEA MARKET that doesn't haggle?? Well look no further folks, Sturbridge flea market is such a place. Feel sorry for the vendors who are missing out on potential income due to a worker who thinks making a phone call constitutes being a broker lol. No wonder we always see people leaving empty handed. Very unfortunate. Ah well, thank goodness plenty of competition in the area with folks who like to do business. 1 out of 5 stars easy peasy.
This place is such a hidden gem. I found amazing items with my friends here. They have lots of children’s books that are super inexpensive. I always find really nice jewelry here, DVDs, albums, and hard to find unique items. There is such variety of unique items and the price is a steal!!! You will always find items that you need. I highly recommend visiting this shop!!! You will not be disappointed.
Love this place, very neat and easy to browse. Love how it's always cheerful. Great to see the old stuff, brings back memories. They always have new stuff, never the same stuff all the time.

It's such a lovely place to walk by yourself or your whole family, including your furry friends. Lots of shade for these warm summer days. There's poo bag station, so be sure to clean up after your pets! There are Charcoal grills and picnic tables so spend the day. Also There's great fishing in the dam!
Definitely one of the best state parks between Sturbridge and southbridge. It’s extremely well maintained. Beautiful picnic areas, a dam, and very good trails.
Beautiful and well kept park. First time there and I was blown away by the amount of trees and the bees and everything. Definitely will come back
Beautiful area to go out walking trails biking trails walking dogs cook outside with the family
Some trail info for walkers and hikers.... First, it's just a nice, pleasant place to spend an hour or two. Around the lake.... The west (Sturbridge) side trail path from the main parking area to the Westville dam is part of the Grand Trunk Trail -- an old railroad project that never came to be with a connection to the Titanic disaster. This first part of the loop is wide gravel, gentle incline and decline. After you walk the rise up past the dam, the eastern (Southbridge) side of the loop trail back to the parking area is wooded, hilly and more like a hiking trail. Sometimes it can get just a little bit muddy and slippery if it has rained. The Grand Trunk Trail continues to the west of Westville Lake and the main parking area. The lower part of this trail is also walkable along Old Mashapaug Rd, a gravel road that follows the Quinebaug River. (Note that this part of the trail on both the upper and lower sections doesn't loop back around.) Last thing.... If you bring your dog, please clean up after it!
Very nice place to spend with the family. There is a little lake where kids can swim, and even life vests can be borrowed. Picnic tables are also available. You can bring your own food or cook in there in the grills.
A beautiful place to go on any day from early spring to late fall. Very well laid gravel trail loop around a beautiful Westville lake. I think entire trail loop must be little over 1 mile to 1.5 mile. Climb few stairs to enjoy lovely views from a Dam. We love to visit this place atleast once per season. There are some well arranged and maintained benches with coal grills for a fantastic picnic with friends or family.
Today I rode the trail from the dam side to West St. School. This route follows the river pretty close. Pretty level once you're down to the river. There are benches and picnic tables along the trail. The trail exit or entrance is in the back of West St. School by the lower soccer field. There is also a kids' play area by the soccer field and parking area.
