My wife and I stayed here for two nights to celebrate our anniversary, and overall we were very happy with our experience. We visited from Friday to Sunday, and the lodge was bustling with guests and events, including two weddings.
Check-in was quick and easy, and the front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. The only downside right away was the $15 per night parking fee, which felt unnecessary.
We booked a Superior River King room on the third floor, which had an incredible view of the gorge. The room itself wasn’t huge, but it was clean, cozy, and perfect for the two of us. With views that stunning, I only wish the rooms had floor-to-ceiling windows to really take it all in.
The newly renovated pool and spa areas were a highlight. The pool is large and beautiful, and the outdoor hot tub was especially relaxing, surrounded by trees and the sound of a waterfall feature. There’s also an indoor hot tub, plus additional hot tubs and saunas in each locker room—plenty of options to unwind.
The lodge offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but prices are on the higher side, as you’d expect at a resort. We ended up heading into Stevenson just a quick 5-minute drive away to try some local restaurants, which turned out to be a great choice.
One small inconvenience was the lack of bottled water in the room. At night I found myself wandering the resort trying to find some, only to discover the vending machines were out. Eventually, I came across a water fountain on my floor, but it would have been nice to have bottled water provided.
All in all, I’d recommend this lodge to anyone looking to enjoy the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest in a peaceful, relaxing setting.
