We've walked there by chance and never regret it! Very nice, although small, museum with a lot of bells and antique mechanical musical instruments. Excursion is a must and included into the ticket price
The Music and Time Museum in Yaroslavl is a unique cultural site that combines a private collection of antiques, musical instruments, and household items. The museum was opened on November 27, 1993, and it was probably one of the first private museums in post-Soviet Russia. Its founder, John Mostoslavsky, was a renowned illusionist and collector who had been collecting exhibits for over 50 years.... Now, his family is carrying on his legacy. And this is remarkable. The exhibition includes musical instruments: gramophones, gramophones, organ grinders, harmonies, records and clocks. There is also a collection of bells - from bells to church, arranged in a chromatic scale to create melodies. Among the exhibits are antique clocks by European masters and many other interesting items. The museum is interactive: visitors can listen to the old instruments during the tour. True, the pleasure is short-lived, somewhere up to a minute on the instrument. But it gives an idea of the instrument. The girl conducts tours with knowledge, energy, interestingly, and informatively. The museum is located in the former estate of the merchant Vakhromeev on the Volga embankment, which adds to its historical flavor.
This place will impress a person of any age. You'll get to listen to music played by various ancestors of speakers, learn about different types of watch, see many bells and hear some facts about irons. The location is easy to find, the excursion lasts for about 40 minutes.
Great miseum! Recommended to visit first!
Absolutely fantastic I would go there again. It's small but very interesting

Even with the snow, the view was very nice)
The location and the overall architecture is beautiful, that said, the city's upkeep of the place is rather poor.
Heart of city and place for entertainment for everyone....
The most marvelous place in the city!
(Translated by Google) A great place, simply wonderful views - this is the confluence of the Volga and the Kotorosl River. A very beautiful embankment, great nature around. We came here from Belgorod, walked here with an excursion. You can take beautiful photos with gorgeous views. I advise everyone to visit who will come to the city of Yaroslavl.

In 2010, during the city's millennium celebrations, a park was created here. The result is truly beautiful. Incredible! A festival was happening during the Christmas holidays; live performances and happy people, enjoying a beautiful winter night in Sovetskaya Plosad, with the backdrop of the Khram Il’i Proroka (Church of Elijah the Prophet) built 1647-1650. Yaroslavl, in general, is so good for walking.
The Church of St. Elijah the Prophet in Yaroslavl is an outstanding monument of 17th-century Russian architecture and painting. It was built in 1647-1650 with the funds of the wealthy merchants, the brothers Vonifatiy and Ioannikiy Skripin, descendants of Novgorodian settlers who became rich through the trade of furs and precious stones. The church was erected on the site of two wooden churches, the cold Ilyinskaya Church and the warm Pokrovskaya Church, which were mentioned in 1612 in connection with the miracle of the healing of a blind man during the procession of the icon of the Savior. The name of the church is associated with the legend of Yaroslav the Wise, who defeated a bear, the symbol of the local pagan tribes, on Elijah's Day, and founded the first Christian church in the city on this site. The church's uniqueness lies in its almost unchanged appearance since the 17th century: a five-domed quadrangle with a tent-shaped side chapel and a bell tower, surrounded by asymmetrical galleries and porches with carved white stone inserts. In 1658, the church miraculously survived a terrible city fire thanks to the metal lining of the doors and windows, which prevented the flames from entering. The church's main treasure is its fully preserved frescoes from 1680, which were created in three months by a team of 15 artists led by the Kostroma painters Guriy Nikitin and Sila Savin. The murals include 970 subject labels, including the famous "Harvest" and the cycle of the deeds of the prophet Elijah, as well as rare images inspired by Dürer's engravings.
Beautiful old church. The church is decorated with beautiful frescoes inside. You have to pay to enter, but it's well worth the visit.
Outstanding piece of Russian architecture, very well preserved. The church is famous for its great wall paintings – frescoes.
A very beautiful church, next to Volga River. A must visit place

(Translated by Google) A divine place where you relax body and soul. Quiet, calm, peaceful. A very beautiful, large, well-groomed area, surrounded by numerous flowers and varied greenery. White swans 🦢 and peacocks 🦚 live on the territory of the monastery. There is a gorgeous cedar grove where the ancient icon of the Tolga Mother of God is located. Delicious local cuisine. You can have a hearty and inexpensive lunch at the local refectory, and also buy various pastries, jam, and dairy products with you. I really liked the drink made from birch sap with orange and lemon. It refreshes and tones well, especially in the summer heat. Tolgsky Monastery is the place where you want to come again and again!
(Translated by Google) The first wall, the outer one. It turns out that this is not quite a Monastery yet... A small, cramped, but free parking lot. We parked about 200 meters from the checkpoint gates. I paid the nun sitting there, according to the posted tariff, 200 rubles for the right to take pictures on the territory, although, as it turned out, it was not necessary to do this. Immediately behind the checkpoint is the first trading area, including gardening and vegetable planting material. And a long path, about a kilometer slightly downhill through the monastery fields to the Monastery itself, which opens up very beautifully from this road. At the end of this path, a small climb to the complex of pilgrimage buildings, a passage through it; again a small trading area and... ...the second wall, the main one and the Spassky Gates, through which the bulk of pilgrims and visitors enter the Monastery (today is Sunday, there are many of both). Another one - the Holy Gates - opens to the Volga and works for tourists arriving by water. The territory is small, but very well-kept. Work on its arrangement and the temples continues. There are many people both in the temples and on the territory, but the nuns have not caught my eye the whole time. Taking photos in the temples is strictly prohibited, on the territory - as much as you like. Calls for visitors to dress appropriately for the place do not work on everyone, but no one is driven out. The third wall, the inner one, opposite the Spassky Gate. It has a gate leading to a cedar grove. The territory of the Monastery, adjacent to the Volga, is also very beautifully landscaped, however, especially the passage from the pier to the Holy Gates is squeezed on the left by the existing estate development with a blank fence along the entire path. A beautiful place. A beautiful Monastery. Must sees. Must sees.

We got there in the morning by taxi from Yaroslavl. We were at the monastery at 9.30 in the morning, there were no tourists yet. We were able to kiss the miraculous icon, walk through the cedar grove, enjoy the beauty to the fullest. We went back to Yaroslavl by river tram (110 rubles). We left the monastery with a pure heart and a light soul. I recommend visiting.

After the visit, we bought cheeses, cabbage, and cedar milk from a local store. Free admission. We got there by taxi, it was easier than looking for a bus on Red Square. And we went back by bus, it runs on schedule. The schedule is posted at the entrance and at the bus stop.

Very wonderfull place with peace ang quit aura historical stories
Worth seeing is the great belltower of the kremlin with a nice roundview (Volga river, Kotorosl river mouth, oldtown) UNESCO World Heritage (Ensemble oldtown with kremlin)
Great museum overall, of not for one detail. They have a live bear that they keep in a cage to "entertain" visitors. Quite barbaric. This bear apparently serves as a symbol of the city, so it should be to no surprise that the city isn't in a great condition either. If their symbol is treated in this way, not much good can come out of it.
Historical place. Great panoramic view of the city from Zvonnitsa tower. Highly recommend for visiting with friends, family and children. Love this view.
