Great day out. Not a bad price for entry but it is getting a little run down. Nice place to see lots of different animals. With staff being friendly and willing to chat about the animals. The facilities were clean and the restaurant was good for a bite to eat.

Nice little Seal rescue centre. Undergoing some improvement to the penguin pool. Needs quite a bit of maintenance as buildings, especially the bird and butterfly houses, looking a bit shabby. Small reptile collection. Very good staff, with informative presentation at feeding time. Would be nice if they could get some sponsorship deals from local companies as not getting any lottery grants.

A lovely place that’s truly worth visiting! I visited with my child and we had a really wonderful time. The seals are absolutely adorable, and the sanctuary plays such an important role — rescuing, caring for, and rehabilitating these beautiful, intelligent animals. The stories shared by the keeper were touching and made us realise how cruel humans can sometimes be. It was emotional but also eye-opening. Feeding the llamas and goats was a great experience for the kids — a fun and meaningful way for them to connect with animals. Places like this deserve recognition and support from the community. They’re doing something truly important. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

Not bad value for money, it isn't an all day activity but definitely worth a visit if you love seals 🥺😍 ! Was a lot of maintenance going on at the time which they kindly have reflected on price tickets. General areas such as toilets and the picnic seatings area could do with a good clean. Staff on reception/ticket kiosk really friendly and bubbly. Would recommend a visit for all animal lovers

They gave an amazing speech about all the different seals (the adult and baby seals) and the seals did some tricks. There’s a great food place which unfortunately doesn’t allow dogs but there is an outside seating area which you can take your dogs into. There’s a butterfly sanctuary and a bird sanctuary which is absolutely amazing to go through. Would highly recommend for a nice day out.

Love what they do here for the seals. Some features are being renovated at the moment. But even those that are not could do with a spruce up. We saw about 4 butterflies in the enclosure. Could hardy see the penguins due to the layout of the temporary enclosure. Alpacas were cute. The largest goat we have ever seen too! Toilets are available, well stocked with toilet roll and soap.

Brilliant fun, loads to look at, seal feeding 3 times a day, plus rescue seals, reptile house, birds, butterflies, rabbits, guinea pigs, tortoises, alpacas, goats, turkeys and an aquarium. What's not to like, had a great time, thoroughly recommended and do you bit to support their work.

A family favourite that keeps getting better! We have been coming to Fantasy Island since 2008 and for me personally since the late 90s. It has become a family tradition and a place that holds so many great memories for us every year. I have seen the park go from strength to strength through the tough years and the big comeback and one thing has always stayed the same, there is always fun to be had here. The staff really are the heart of Fantasy Island. You can tell they genuinely care about people having a good time and that energy rubs off on everyone around them. The ride line up is fantastic with coasters like Odyssey and Millennium giving the big parks a run for their money, but there is also plenty for families and younger ones too. The entertainment venues are brilliant, the atmosphere is always lively, and the whole place just has that great seaside holiday vibe. The market next door adds to the charm and tradition. You can easily spend a few hours wandering around between rides and there is always something going on, especially around the major holidays and events. Fantasy Island might not have the huge price tag of the big name theme parks, but it has just as much heart if not more. For us it is a mix of nostalgia, fun and great memories that keeps us coming back year after year and long may that continue.

I had a great time here. Lots of rides to go on, waits varied between 10-15 minutes. I liked that the rides last longer than 30 seconds like they do at some theme parks. Loads of places to get a drink & something to eat. Tons of markets to look through as well & plenty of toilets available throughout, it varied whether they were clean or not🤢quite a bit of seating but not many areas that were shaded, so not ideal for hot weather. I liked that you can access your photos by scanning your wrist band after the rides, but we did have some trouble accessing them online. It’s a bit of a faff scanning your wrist bands right at the entry of rides, this held queues up sometimes. It was nearly £30 per adult for a wrist band to access all rides, so I thought it was good value for money, especially since rides cost between £5-£8 to get on. Odyssey is a must if you’re an adrenaline seeker, I was shaking so bad after it ended😂 Plenty of parking next to Fantasy Island although it said parking all day was £6 or £2 per hour, & we were charged £8. I’d visit again!

Great thrill rides and rides for children. Arcade always quiet and wristbands relatively cheap. Do not go on Oblivion if you are prone to headaches because it is a bumpy ride. Excellent food options across the park too. Will be going again!

A small bit enjoyable park. Lots of market stalls, which is unusual to see and not expected. But if you're looking for a bargain with tracksuits, garden ornaments and Bluetooth speakers, you're in for a treat. The rides are very good. Odyssey and millennium especially are great rides. If you're near by pop in.

Very pricey but when they have the stalls on it is great to have a look around. Went on a few rides which were all good even when the weather was a bit dull. It is definitely a great day out for family or even if you want to just have a look around the markets are good and have a lot of variety.

Another great day out had by all in Skegness. Queues got a little busy, but from 5pm onwards was quiet had. Aerate time. We met a worker Chelsea she was so nice and fun around the kids. Defo an asset to the company if you ask me. Great rides and entertainment added in the price

Queues were stupidly long, don't save the best till last or you may miss it. Kids had a blast I oaid 21 quid to go on one rude in the end so not ideal but next time I won't need a band

This designer outlet isn’t as big as some I’ve been to but there is a good selection of shops including a M&S, Osprey, Levi’s Cadbury Chocolate Shot and much more. I really enjoyed Blud Diamond the garden centre with lush outdoor and indoor plants, gifts, books, household items and restaurant. The Osprey shop has good quality bags and wallets, and the craft shop is well stocked. My favourite area was the extensive well laid out gardens with water features, seating and woods, this is not something you expect to find at a designer outlet. It does feel like an outlet shopping centre because the prices are really competitive.

Springfield in Spalding is an absolute gem, it's the perfect combination of a fantastic shopping destination and a beautiful, peaceful place to relax. It's truly got everything you could want for a great day out First off, the shopping is brilliant. The outlet stores offer a huge range of brands, from high-street favourites like M&S and Joules to well-known names like Clarks and Levi's. You can find everything from clothes and shoes to homeware and gifts, all at great prices. It's the kind of place where you can easily spend a few hours browse and still feel like you only scratched the surface. The layout is also very pleasant, so it doesn't feel overwhelming like a huge indoor mall. But what really sets Springfield apart is the stunning Festival Gardens. It's a wonderful surprise to find such a beautiful, landscaped space right no ext to the shops. The gardens are an absolute highlight, offering a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle. The themed areas, water features, and woodland walks make for a lovely stroll. It's a fantastic spot to take a break, enjoy a coffee, or just admire the beautiful flowers. The gardens are clearly well-cared for, and it's a real joy to walk around them. The fact that these two elements - the great shopping and the gorgeous gardens - are together in one place makes Springfield so special. It's a place where you can shop until you drop, then step outside into a serene and inspiring garden to relax and recharge. The whole atmosphere is welcoming and enjoyable, making it a wonderful experience for everyone. I loved every minute of my visit and I'm already looking forward to going back.

As a wheelchair user this place was great to visit. Nice smooth floors both inside the shops and in the street area. Plenty of parking and everything was clean and tidy. We visited the garden centre cafe for food and weren’t disappointed. Grandchildren loved shopping for accessories and daughter in law found a birthday present she liked easily.

Not a bad place to go shopping. I detest shopping. Here is a good spot to whip around a wide range of shops grabbing all the bits you have needed to get for the last few years and then grab a coffee to celebrate getting it over with. Parking is excellent, always room for my camper van, I like a big space. Reasonably priced.

Very clean and spacious, a variety of shops to look around. Adventure land was great fun for the kids. The ducks were not at all afraid of humans which shows how well they are cared for. Sitting around the ponds was quite peaceful. I cant find fault with anything at all.

The restaurant in the garden center is very nice, with a large room, comfortable seating, delicious meals, and a very large selection of gluten-free desserts. Everyone will find something for themselves there.

Caught out by the parking charge . Thought he first hour was free - I was wrong. Got stuck at the gate with about 20 cars behind me . Called for help and the attendant could not have been more unfriendly. Told me to reverse directly at the queue of cars behind to make them move - I was in a van with zero rear view and aware that the queue behind were not feeling hospitable! I would have happily paid a charge by cc at this point but that could not be offered and they instructed me to either force the cars behind me to move or to leave the van and block the exit while I walked back to a pay station - accepting my mistake was my fault , the response from this team was pathetic.

A beautifully designed and built cathedral. Are there better ones - depends upon what is considered better, this one is full of history and stunning architectural details. There was a 5 pound charge to visit the chancel but I did not think that excessive considering the maintenance costs on this building. If you visiting Peterborough, this is not to be missed. Also a lovely place for some self reflection and hop out of the daily trials of life.

What a great cathedral. The architecture is amazing and walking inside its so spacious and the art work is amazing. Such a peaceful place. The cathedral is right in the city centre of Peterborough and you can’t miss it with the walk way leading to it. The cathedral looks so beautiful and grand from the outside and when you walk in it looks so nice

An impressive building with the three arches. The Nave is beatiful too with the wooden ceilings, etc. An amazing building. But, I was disappointed to find that in order to visit the chancel and other areas at the back of the cathedral, I would have to pay an entrance fee of £5.50, you have to buy tickets at the information desk. There is no clear signage of that being the case, nothing to inform me of this. You need to be more clear as it does not say on your website or indeed on any signage that I looked at that there is a fee.

Like majority of Cathedrals in the UK, Peterborough cathedral has stunning Gothic architecture and a real sense of history. The intricate ceilings and beautiful stained glass are breathtaking, and the peaceful atmosphere makes it a perfect place to pause and reflect.

I have visited a lot of Cathedrals over the year across England, and this has to be one of best that l have seen. l was very impressive with both the inside and the outside of this cathedral. I would highly recommend coming here. The cathedral is free to visted, but there is a donation box/card reader if you would like give something.

Superlative example of a cathedral lots of spectacular details and information and friendly and helpful staff. Gift shop didn't seem open and if they did contactless donations we would have.

This is one of my favourite cathedrals in UK, just beautiful. Check out their xmas fayre in November each year .. fabulous

Called in here while visiting the area and was lucky enough that the Lancaster Bomber was on one of its days/times for making a taxi run out of the hangar……GREAT experience. Ring and check for days/times before you visit. If you are interested in WW2 then there are LOTS of experiences and MASSES of reading…..allow a lot time (all day) if you want the full experience. Basic but cheap and acceptable marquee cafe at present while work is ongoing for the new one.

Great time on bank holiday Monday. Being inside an iconic airplane such as the Lancaster is a lot of people's dreams. I must say it does live up to the dreams and gives you a great insight as to what those young airmen went through. So brave so young, may we never forget.

Over recent years we have taken a liking to visiting war museums, there are many over this East Side of the country, this one was well worth a visit with the Lancaster bomber just one of it's main attractions. Certain days you can pay for a 'taxi' ride down a large field in the bomber You can sit in the gun turrets of choice. All be it a little expensive on this occasion being a pensioner. The experience of taxiing down a run way with a 4 engines running in this iconic world war 2 bomber must be fantastic. We are going to save up and come back for another visit and take this once in a lifetime opportunity. All the money raised is put back into making this Lancaster air worthy. So a great cause to keep this plane alive for the forseable future for all to see. You can see the craftspeople building and manufacturing new sections of plane in the large hangar. For us this was also a great place to visit as it has a Campra motorhome aire in the grounds, we stayed for two nights, safe and peaceful 👍 Check out there website.

Absolutely brilliant. To visit Just Jane and her smaller sisters was just wonderful . We will return. This is fabulous day out particularly for those whose relatives once flew these beautiful old ladies. Great volunteers

Had a brilliant morning here. Came here really for one thing, to see the Lancaster taxi run. Totally amazing to witness this, the noise, the history, the size of the aircraft. What was also impressive was all displays with the information relating to the aircraft and airfields in the local area.

Visiting this was a purely off the cuff last minute decision due to rain, however this place deserves a lot more respect than that. A fascinating, detailed incredible place with some sombering glimpses into our aviation past. Couple that with an unexpectedly delicious breakfast and you have a great half day out. Definitely not one to miss.

If you're interested in ww2 aviation history then this is a must. Lancaster and Mosquito plus various other rescued aero parts with the history to explain why they are there. Unfortunately planes were in hangar at visit so couldn't get decent photos but didn't spoil a great day. There is a cafe on site. Money goes to support work on the aircraft.

My girlfriend and I came here, and it's a lovely walk. In some sections, it feels very close to nature, while others are clearly designed for children to play. It's a wonderful place for a quiet day out.

Visited many times, but today just the wooden trail. However, the whole park it's perfect to go for walks, visit different sites like coffee shops, playgrounds for the children, ride on the train ( this will depend on the days and weather), and also boat rides (this is seasonal). There's a lot in here, as sometimes they do events as well. Always look at the website for what's happening. But, if you like nature like I do, Ferry meadows is a great escape from the town of Peterborough.

Beautiful place has a lot to offer, play areas, BBQ, pedal boats, and lots of walking trails. A small train that takes you on a tour of the park, cafes and toilet facilities. Various parking locations which you pay when you leave. Very pretty place, would definitely return for another visit.

Lovely place for a day out .plenty of walks. parks for kiddies cafe and ice-cream stall and a train to take you round the park. We stayed on the caravan site for few days it was nice .you can also tents in a different area .

Ferry Meadows in Nene Park, is beautiful and peaceful place to relax and enjoy nature. The big lake is perfect for fishing and just relaxing. There are plenty of walking trails, running areas, and horseback riding avaliable. Plenty of adventure woodlands, large picnic areas, and a variety of wildlife, it’s an ideal destination for families, nature lovers, or anyone looking for a calm escape outdoors.

Visited here for the Saturday morning parkrun. Loads of onsite parking which is only £1 for park runners. This is very well attended event , with 600 people on the day. The park is great with loads of facilities including toilets, cafes etc. The run is two out and back loops, there are some 2way parts that get a little squeezed but for most of it there is plenty of room. Its all flat and alot of tarmac so its a fast course. Lots of marshalls all doing a great job, this is a must visit parkrun.

Parking £4-8. Very beautiful and scenic. Cafe was busy and their way of doing drinks was odd, tea was made and put on the tray but we had to wait for the coffee (they hold back the tray) so tea was cold. Coffee was around £4, cake £4 . Watersports and activities available on site for extra charges. Picnic area and play park. Short walk around the lake and some other paths that we didn't get chance to visit as it was just a short visit.

What an amazing nostalgic cinema, we absolutely loved it. It was a pavilion originally and converted in 1920, so you can imagine Pathe news being showing on the war years. The decor is all original including an organ that would play at the intermission. Lots of leg room and very comfortable.

I don't go to any other cinema now. I love this place so much. The whole place just feels special. It's cheaper than other cinemas but equally comfy. I also love that lots of showings have intermissions. Why cinemas stopped doing that, I don't know. The chap playing the organ is always an unexpected delight. More than just a cinema, this is an experience!

Absolute fantastic place if you want to travel back in time and you're looking for something totally romantic then this is the place. Just close your eyes and soak up the atmosphere it's brilliant. Price's are extremely good for gge tickets and for snacks and drinks. Also there is an old fashion intermission for a toilet or drinks break superb. Loved every minute of it.

Quaint 1950s cinema with lots of leg room and comfy seats. Strange to have an intermission half way through the movie to refresh your snacks, go to the loo or just be entertained by the organist rising from beneath the stage. Definitely worth a visit just for the experience

What a fantastic cinema experience. Like stepping back in time in the best possible way. Lovely friendly staff and nice snacks on sale. You even get an interval and the piano playing. Will def go again.

Fantastic throwback to old fashioned cinema with quirky cinematic nostalgia items on display, comfortable seating, an Interval with the bonus of an organist rising up in front of the screen. Absolutely loved visiting this cinema. Will be back for more.

Absolutely brilliant! Cannot believe we stumbled across this place, a hidden gem! Traditional cinema, beyond reasonable ticket and refreshment prices, an all round wonderful experience!

Burghley House is really impressive and worth seeing. The building itself is huge and full of history, with amazing details inside and out. Walking through the rooms feels like stepping back in time, and there’s so much to look at you could easily spend hours there. The staff were friendly and happy to answer questions, which made the visit even better. Outside views of the house are just as stunning, especially if the weather is good. It’s the kind of place that makes you go “wow” when you first see it.

It's a huge pile of a place with plenty to see, enormous gardens designed by Capability Brown and a wealth of treasures on view. They are a bit economical with the truth regarding where the money actually came from: if truth be told, political fingers were very much in the till several centuries ago. Clearly nothing has changed! To be frank, I found it rather soulless and dark, especially on an autumn day that started somewhat gloomily. You may love it; I have seen country homes that I warmed to a lot more than this.

What a venue! So much history, so much style. We had our work conference here and it was amazing, the staff were attentive and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The food was great, pastries and tea or coffee to start, mini fish and chips or vegetarian option, then charcuteri to finish. I look forward to revisiting to see the house. The House is closed for private functions every Friday & typically, I went on a Friday! 🤦 The walking trails, cafe & shop are still open though & I managed to get a few photos of the outside of the house. It is absolutely stunning & although I may have been able to get some more shots on the other side of the house, it was absolutely sweltering so I contented myself with these & will capture the rest when I can actually visit the property fully at some point. Definitely recommended, just not on a Friday!

The most beautiful palace we have ever visited. It is clear that the owners put great effort into ensuring visitors have access to a wealth of information and a truly enriching experience. The part open for sightseeing is absolutely magnificent – stunning ceiling paintings, the enchanting Heavenly Room, the impressive kitchen, and the elegant library hall. From the windows, you can admire the garden, not accessible to visitors, yet captivating with its carefully and imaginatively trimmed shrubs. The park area is vast, with sections available for free walks as well as paid entry. One of the highlights was spotting a herd of deer behind the fence, including two rare white ones. Truly breathtaking!

A beautiful house well preserved and the art and paintings are incredible. However it cost £22 to go in to the house and you only see a small part of the house. Couldn't go up to the very top and missed alot of levels. The garden is nice to explore with all the waterfalls

Amazing country house and well worth a day out. We drove just under two hours each way to get there and the schlep was totally justified. We spent about and hour and a half each in the gardens and house. The entrance price was £22 each on the door. There are a few options for food, including the Orangery restaurant and Garden Café. Food and drink is reasonably priced, good quality and offers plenty of choice. Souvenirs also cheaper than I have come to expect in such places. Parking is ample and located not too far from the house and gardens. The house is stunning. You don't see too much of it as the family is still living there, but what you do so - the State Rooms - are steeped in history and full of incredible treasures including the largest collection of Chinese and Japanese porcelain outside Asia, stunning examples of marquetry and some incredible murals and celling scenes by Antonio Verrio. The Hell Staircase was a highlight for us. There are lots of friendly volunteers and a fantastic audio guide (priced at £3) to help you along. The gardens are expanisive. We wandered the Floral Tapestry, Garden of Surprises and Sculpture Gardens before running off to see the nearby town of Stamford. The gardens were in full bloom in late August and despite this being a summer Saturday, were not brimming with kids. The Garden of Surprises was quirky but not gimmicky, and the other parkland areas were beautiful. All in all, including a lunch stop, we spent a good 4 hours exploring Burghley House and felt this was an exceptional day out. Plenty of things for kids to do too. You should allow time to visit Stamford too; this is a lovely town. All in all, this is a lovely part of the UK!

Popular mansion and gardens. We've never seen such a queue to enter a NT property as this. It draws an incredible number of visitors and has an enormous car park and extensive cafe to accommodate everyone. That said it didn't feel busy in the gardens or house. There's plenty of room for people to spread out. There are formal gardens as well as parkland to explore. With a veritable army of volunteers tending to the gardens, which were a credit to their green fingered attention. In August when we visited there were a number of activities for children to enjoy. And plenty of children doing just that. The mansion house was built in 1685. All the furnishings and paintings are original items owned by the family. A really nice authentic feature. Don't miss the church, with so many elaborate memorials to the family ancestors. And do talk to the room guides they had lots of stories to tell about the past generations and more recent royal visitors. All good. 😎👍👍👍👍

Belton House is one of the largest National Trust stately homes, with loads to see and do including the largest outdoor play area across the estate. The house inside is stunning and whilst some work was ongoing when we were there it took nothing away from what was and will be a place of great splendour. There are also one lovely gardens to explore which you can take your fourlegged friend (although understandably not in the house).

Belton is a vast estate with a huge parking lot that is a bit of a walk to the entrance. Particularly if one must park at the far end. I was surprised to see so many visitors in late September! It was easy to see why. The house was amazing, dating from the 1600's with most of its decor maintained since that time period. The Trust has done an excellent job preserving the interior. Rooms include a full sized chapel, as well as a bedroom that was designed for Queen Adelaide. The self guided tour finds one going through room after room as it seems that most of them are open for display, unlike others where touring was limited to ground floor or a few rooms to peruse. There is a lovely cafe on the grounds and acres of gardens to enjoy. There were still many flowers in bloom in late September. There is a maze on the far end of the property if one chooses to seek it out. We never did make it to the middle, but at least we found our way back out! We are National Trust members (via Royal Oak Society) so I cannot comment on admission price. I can say that you will see a vast amount upon admission and could easily spend the day enjoying the landscape. One last tidbit: the house was featured as Rosings Park in a Pride & Prejudice film. The front was where Mr. Collins entered with his entourage, and the back is where Mr. Darcy was filmed walking towards the house.

Belton House was extremely busy when we were there but we still had a wonderful visit and did not feel overcrowded (except in the ice-cream shop!). The house was interesting, the volunteers knowledgeable and the gardens were beautiful and well kept. It is a pity the large fountain in the formal garden was not working. We will definitely visit again when we are in the area!

Probably one of the most enjoyable visits I have had to a country house and grounds. The house is not the most spectacular from the outside or the inside but it is both attractive from the outside and surprisingly comfortable inside. It is a place that I felt it would be nice to live in. There is a lot to see in the house and there was a guide in each of the main rooms who was only too happy to talk about the history, royal links and modern filming in and around the estate. The guided tour of the grounds is well worth while as we found it amusing and informative. The estate church is Norman in age and some of the later memorial statues are very impressive. We enjoyed the formal gardens and orangery although the maze was decidedly unamazing. A very pleasant walk down to the lake in a less formal area.

Was very disappointed. Cosy us £60 entry, was told that was for everything but to find out after spending all day there that the lights was an extra £76 !!!! Rip off and with only a handful of rooms decorated, thought it was poor value ... Tips for next year, give a reduced price for lights if there all day and show a kitchen decorated for Christmas lunch

Enjoyed my trip to Belton estate. It was busy due to school holidays and plenty was laid on for them to do. Outside in the gardens it was a pleasure walking round and enjoying the atmosphere. Entering the house every room was amazing and the staff explained all inquiries. Highly recommend.

I’m a big fan of cathedrals, and all across Europe they have their own flavour and style. Lincoln follows the Italian cathedral tradition of an enormous (and I really mean enormous) facade. And you can see it’s a facade, it overlaps the edges of the cathedral, but it’s still impossible not to be awed by the scale. No matter where you stand, yo aren’t going to fit that facade onto Yor camera, unless you’re using an ultra wide angle. It’s that big. So the facade is quite unique - Wells has something similar but Wells cathedral would fit in your pocket, yo have to be careful almost not to sit on it by accident. So Lincoln takes this facade to the nth degree, and it’s worth seeing for that. You’ll only see similar things in Milan, and (in a very different style) in Florence. The area around the cathedral is nice too - very traditional, cobbles, steep ungainly streets, closely packed cottages and townhouses climbing their way up these steep streets. This centre around the cathedral is the best bit of the town- the rest is somewhat modernised and has lost that air, so to see the real old Lincoln, you want to be around the cathedral. And the cathedral itself is worth a visit inside and around. I think there are prettier cathedrals - York for one, and more decorated inside (e.g. Ely) but Lincoln does a classic job with a large space. And it has layers of windows that breathe space into the building, it really needs to be experienced in person. And because Lincoln is not on the general tourist trail, you have it much more to yourself. So it’s peaceful, and occasionally, they hold some reasonably priced, and well-chosen concerts.

Visited the cathedral multiple times and what a beautiful place it is! Indulged in the tour, incredibly insightful and fascinating. The tour guide (Believe it was Dorothy, older woman with glasses and red earrings) was a joy to listen to and learn from, and incredibly knowledgeable. The tour was engaging and fun, with all questions being answered. The cathedral is stunning for a building that's a millennia old, and buildings like this need to be preserved for future generations to love and enjoy.

Very impressive on multiple levels. Most importantly of course there is the amazing architecture and rich history. But there is more. The absence of pews or chairs in the nave is refreshing, making it so much easier to imagine what this imposing space looked like in medieval times. They allow dogs, and dogs there were. Somehow this really enhances the welcoming feel of the place. Then there is the most amazingly beautiful Stations of the Cross, a modern work in wood comprising a generous fifteen works. I am a lapsed Catholic and agnostic, but I felt Christ’s suffering through it - a moving and somewhat surprising experience. Last, but certainly not least, we enjoyed one of the best tours I have ever experienced. Our guide, Christine, gave us insight in both architecture and history with deep knowledge and humour, and a particular sensitivity to the younger members of our audience that was very pleasing. All in all definitely a five star experience!

Amazing Cathedral, still baffles me how they managed to construct buildings like this all those years ago. You can get in for free but you have to pay to walk around once you're inside, which was a bit pricey; £25 for two. That's not a guided tour, which you can book for an additional cost. Either way it's definitely worth a visit

I love that cathedral. It was amazing experience to visit place full of history. I spent over one hour walking around and inside of cathedral. Beautiful architecture.

I just had a coffee and toast after feeling peckish early one morning on the way up Steep Hill. Really nice atmosphere, airy with lots of comfy seating. Staff were welcoming and pleasant and the coffee was excellent but cup so small I almost ordered a second cup. The sourdough toast was the best I’ve had in Lincoln cafes and this will definitely influence me to return. This establishment felt like a cafe/restaurant and it was only when writing the review that I realised you can book a room. Really handy for the Cathedral and Castle as it’s just a few minutes away.

Service was a bit slow but food was lovely. Very good value for money overall. Not taking a star off though for service as worked in hospitality industry for 16 years so can understand the challenges which can be impacted. Also lovely latte coffees too was worth the money overall.

Was to use a Scottish Term 'Puggled' after trudging up the lower part of the the Steep Hill in Lincoln and I gratefully spotted this establishment just shortly before I need the defibrillator. When we entered we were met by really friendly staff who got us to a table with nice comfy seating. We ordered Tea, Smoked Salmon Bagel and a Sausage Bap. The tea was real leaf tea and was really refreshing, my brother complimented the Sausage Bap through a full mouth and the Smoked Salmon Bagel was delicious with an ample supply of cream cheese. This is a delightful place full of character with a really relaxed atmosphere and professional and helpful staff, if you are passing and in need of refreshment, give it a try.

Popped in to use the cafe. Super friendly staff and excellent coffee at very reasonable cost. Very relaxing vibe. Will definitely return when next in Lincoln... Oh and dog friendly too!!

Had lunch here today. Cheese baguette had no butter on and was dry. The chicken on sourdough was nice however there was only half a slice of Sourdough toast with that smallest salad and no crisps. They did bring them when I asked as per menue. All in all not worth the price.

We parked just down from the apartments which worked out well with 24 hour parking. The apartment was warm, comfortable and very clean in a perfect location for down town and the historic area around the cathedral. It is on a steep hill, but is about halfway up so not too tiring either way! It was a lovely quiet location with a tuneful wren outside in the early evening singing away. A handy table and chairs are outside your door too. We liked the kitchenette and would have made use of it had we stayed longer.

We mainly went for the cathedral; which was amazing. The castle was ok too. The best things about it are the views from the external wall walk and the film and display of the Magna Carta. A very important document on which most world democracy is based.

Visited here while staying in the area. A STEEP walk up from Broadgate car park in the town…..get a taxi ? Its free to get into the ‘grounds’ and then pay more to do the ‘walls walk’ and more to see the Magna Carta/prison areas. A MUST is to join the guided walk to get the ‘chat’ about the various areas of the castle….So worthwhile. Cafe is very reasonable too.

Well worth a visit. Definitely get tickets and go view the, prisons, Magna carta and the chapel. Take advantage of the tour, they guides are knowledgeable and so friendly. Also the ticket get you to walk the medieval wall walk. Cafe and gift shop also available.

Stunning views of the city. Wonderful to walk around, got to listen to some stories through the onsite tour guide. The prisons were intriguing (and a little depressing, but I suppose they are supposed to be) . Getting to see one of the last few copies of the Magna Carta is a great view into the past. I would suggest getting the Wall walk ticket. When we visited the list was down so we walked up the spiral staircase, which in itself was an adventure.

Lincoln castle is amazing. Incl. Prisons, Magna Gata, Walk on fabolous Castle Wall with dragons . Family tickets have discount. Carpark is just beside. Highly recommended.

Had a great time at the castle, saw the prisons and the original Magna Carta. Lovely walk around the top of the walls. Shame the lift was out of order, you have to be fit to climb the spiral staircase. Well worth a visit.

We visited in the evening for the low bang fireworks and it was brilliant, my youngest enjoyed the indoor play area first before heading outside, there was a nice spacious marquee with plenty of seating and the food was delicious. We really enjoyed the fire artists and bonfire and the fireworks were brilliant, I had 3 children with me ages 7 to 14 and we all had the a great time 🥰 parking was so easy too a lovely stress free evening

Had a great day out at Pink Pig farm with 2 x six years old girls, an 18 month old and a 10 year child.The wooden rail carts and the foam party were the greatest ! The outdoor space is always a bonus when you have kids and there were extra activities on the field eg. badminton, hoop throwing, rope swing and zip line and more…It was a very hot day yesterday around 28 degrees?? The metal slide in the park was hot under the sun therefore the kids and unable to play on it, an open canopy or some kind of shade would have been useful also for the large bouncing pillows they were quite hot under the sun and unfortunately the kids soon give up on those. We would have liked more animals and more interaction with the all of the animals but understand this is difficult to safely provide. We had a great day out, great facilities at the farm. Enjoyed our picnic ,Stayed for there for nearly 6 hours.

Been to this farm twice and loved it both times. Lots of things to do, from sand play, to roleplay, to seeing animals etc. Not loads of animals but my daughter still loves the ones there, and with everything else there is to do you can definitely make a whole day out of it all. The pumpkin patch was great with lots of choices of pumpkins and lots of photo opportunities. Food is also yummy in the restaurant. I’m sure we will be back again soon.

Looking after my great granddaughter and wondered where to go. It was an hours journey to The Pink Pig Farm but I'm so pleased we went. If you're looking for a fantastic day out with children that isn't going to cost an absolute fortune this is the place to go. Inside and outside activities, snack bar and cafe. And of course the foam party where all children was so excited. Please, please give your kids a day to remember and go to Pink Pig Farm.

We come with two grandchildren 3 years and 8 years and both loved it lots for both ages there did not want to leave. And yes you do need Wellingtons towel But I did read that and we had them. The only thing I would say in the little wood aera could do with maybe little something for the children to find nothing in there for them once your in . But did not stop us off going in. We was at pink pig farm for 5 hours and loved it. And a big thank you for a lovely day and we be back . From Hull

Our first visit to pink pig farm, it certainly will not be our last. My grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed their time here, lots for them to do and see the animals. The Halloween event was excellent, far better than others we have been to over the past years. The pumpkin field was beautifully presented with lots of photo opportunities on hay bales pink tractor and much more. Alot of effort was put into theme, we love the graveyard with Michael jackson grave and Glenda 🤭 We had a wonderful day thank you 😊

Had a great time today at the pumpkin event. Lots to choose from and lots of photo opportunities. Making the witches potion was also a good activity. My little one enjoyed the indoor and outdoor play areas and it was nicely spread out. Would be nice to be able to feed the animals and maybe have a few more, but liked the fact that they were named. This was our first visit and we would definitely come back when the new play area is finished. Great value for money with all the different activities to choose from

Sundown Adventureland is a theme park created especially for younger children, offering a few of colourful rides, themed zones, and imaginative play areas. From tractors and pirate ships to indoor play barns and storybook villages, it’s designed to spark creativity and keep little adventurers entertained in a safe, family-friendly setting. The park is most enjoyable for children up to around 10 or 11 years old. Older ones, particularly around 12, may find the rides a little tame compared to larger theme parks, but many still enjoy the atmosphere, theming, and chance to join in with younger siblings. Overall, it remains a super good family day out.

We went to Sundown Adventureland yesterday and honestly, it’s just wonderful. The attention to detail is incredible — everything feels so intentional and full of imagination. You notice something different every time you visit, and there’s something special for every season. It’s such a magical place for the kids, but it brings out the child in you too! It's so much more than just another attraction, you can really feel the love and care that’s gone into every part of it over decades.

What a wonderful place to take young children! Everything is designed perfectly for your little ones, with interactive displays all around the park, lovely rides and soft plays. It was a shame to have one of the attractions closed because it's not the biggest place already but I'm sure it will reopen soon. I must also mention the fairytale village which was one of my favourite parts! Little houses from lots of fairytale stories that the children could explore and press buttons inside. Sundown was spotlessly clean and well kept and the effort that has gone into designing the park has got to be commended. My children loved it! Lots of space to spread out and play freely... opportunities to meet the characters. We never queued for a thing!!!! Went on the rides as many times as we wanted and practically had the whole park to ourselves! We also stayed onsite at Wild Acres which was really cute. My only criticism is that the bed wasn't very comfortable and it didn't have a proper sofa to relax on when the kiddies were in bed. The hot tub was beautiful and the decoration of the lodge was so magical. We booked our stay for Monday to Friday but that was definitely too long. You'd only need two nights 😊

Absolutely loved our stay here, especially the children there was loads to do there, massive sandpit, loads of different play equipment, the cabins are lovely to stay in, has a small little shop where you can grab essentials, and an adsa 15minutes down the road, only thing I would have to say on the cabins is that the sofas are not comfortable at all, especially if you suffer with bad backs , the beds however are just amazing so comfortable, the fridges needed have a good clean and freezer defrosted, we had a hot tub which was amazing, all the cooking equipment you need is there. The food from the restaurant was delicious

Visited Sundown Adventureland during the summer holidays and had a great time! It’s a lovely park with plenty to explore and so much for kids to enjoy. Lots of fun areas, rides, and themed zones that keep little ones entertained all day. There’s plenty of parking, and it’s definitely worth the money. A fantastic day out for families!

I took a gamble and drove 3 hours to visit Sundown. This adventure was for my sons 5th birthday. I am so pleased we went ! I can not stop raving about it to my family. There are two massive inside soft plays. My children 4 and 5 absolutely loved them. There are walk ways in and around, so u can easily keep your eye on the children. We went in the 6 weeks holiday and it wasn't rammed. There are lots of seating areas and a large variety of drinks and food to enjoy whilst the children burn off there energy. The little rides were brilliant fun and exciting for the children. My son absolutely loved the barrel ride, and the tractor ride, and with no long ques he went on it over and over again! The entire place was well looked after. Clean and tidy! Staff were welcoming and you could see they enjoy there jobs. Entry fees include all rides, so there is no additional costs. You only need to pay extra for food. However, there's lots of inside and outside seating so picnics are welcome too. The miniture villages were magical. The children spent ages exploring inside all the houses. We arrived at opening 10am and left at closing 5.30pm. There was so much to see I advise two days. I can't wait to visit again. My son was jumping around all day telling me "this is the best day ever". And it sure was, for all of us. Please visit this place. You don't know what your missing. It really is a hidden gem.

Visited the arena for the first time last night to see rock orchestra. The concert was amazing... But so was the arena, it's facilities and it's staff. On arrival, there was a very fast moving queue through a security check and then in to a ticket scanning queue, despite the large number of people we were inside the stadium in less than 3 mins. Inside it was busy, it's a nearly sold out concert of course it was busy but every thing just flowed well. The bar staff were fast and efficient at dealing with customers and moving to the next, the toilets were clean and the one way on and another way out system worked a dream to keep the flow constant (unintended pun). Prices for drinks and food were reasonable for an arena, I didn't feel ripped off, but being a Yorkshire man I always love a bargain if I can find one. The staff were very friendly and approachable and excellent knowledge of the arena. Absolutely would visit again in future for other events! Well done!

The lighting and visual production were top-tier, fitting the grandeur of the band and the venue. ​In short, the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham provided a flawless, end-to-end entertainment experience. From the elevated pre-show hospitality to the flawless concert atmosphere, it was a night that was well-organized, highly enjoyable, and certainly confirmed the venue’s standing as one of the best in the UK. We’d highly recommend the VIP route for anyone looking to make a great night even more special.

Went here for The Secret of Us Tour ‘25, it was amazing! The staff were super friendly and helpful! Snacks and drinks were on the expensive side and the water you could get wasn’t really that cold and it was extremely warm in the arena. Also the toilets were kind of gross but obviously they can’t clean during a show unfortunately. Other than that, everything was pretty good, including the sound even from up in the nosebleeds seats!

Went to see Mcfly play, they was absolutely brilliant. The arena was very well organised for the event, better than a lot I have been to! Got us in quick, also doing security checks which some people may groan about having to wait longer, I think this is a good thing.

Visited for the first time to see Marilyn Manson. I was on the floor in general standing for the gig, right in the heat of the mosh pits, so I don't really remember what actually happened! Although, I do remember how good the venue is. Only problem I'd say is if you have vertigo, do not book in the upper seats. From the view I had, it is very steep. But, overall brilliant venue.

Really good venue! Excellent transport links, easy to get in and out of, find the loos, get a drink etc.. Its big enough to draw grate bands and feel epic, but still has a hint of intimacy to it. That bad you like? If they're coming to the ice arena, see them here.

We went to the Marilyn Manson gig who was well on top form as was the support band The Dead Posies & we had the best night, perfect view of the stage & the staff were very friendly & helpful & we will look for more gigs at the venue, cheers for an excellent night

Nottingham Castle played an important role in Britain's history. Apart from being famous for being home to the Sheriff of Nottingham, the castle was a strategic stronghold during England's civil war in the 1600's. Today the castle is museum that houses exhibits of Nottingham's lace manufacturing, studies surrounding the "Major Oak" in Sherwood Forest, and many other interesting displays. Outside the walls is a statue of Robin Hood that is a must see for visitors. Beneath the city is a network of caves that are also present at the castle. Booking a tour of the castle caves provides visitors with much more information about the history and importance Nottingham Castle has played in Britain's history.

Cool castle ramparts encasing a grand mansion steeped in history. Highly recommend booking a cave tour to explore the tunnels within the castle rock. The guides are hugely knowledgeable and give you a fun, educational, story-filled experience.

Nottingham Castle looks impressive and full of history, even from the outside. The grand architecture and its position overlooking the city make it a striking landmark. The grounds and surrounding area are beautifully kept and offer great photo opportunities. A must-see spot that captures the heritage and charm of Nottingham!

The castle is nice but was expecting more of a castle then an art museum. There are few interesting exhibits. The castle looks nice from the outside, the grounds are nicely maintaned offering nice views over Nottingham. The price is a little high for the experience. The Robin Hood experience is nice but is more of a playground for kids with interactive stuff, for adults kind of boring. The cave tour was nice but to pay extra for that, above the entrance price can be pricey for some folks compared to the experiance. The staff is nice and hepful. You buy tickets at the entrance or online waiting in the queue is the same to enter. Next to the castle you'll find a mini square with the statue of Robin Hood. The Forest exhibition is let's say ok but doesn't really impress, a natural woodland walk might be better. One visit is enough honestly, doesn't make any sense to visit the castle again especially if you travel from a bigger distance. The location of the castle is very good, in the city center, car park buildings close by. The souvenir shop and restaurant is nice.

The staff were all very helpful and friendly entry price is reasonable but..... I was expecting more castle. I am aware that the castle is self was destroyed many many years ago. I enjoy looking at castles in their various states and wonder what they would have been like. The exhibitions were informative and interactive.

A great day out, the caves tour is a must and was an excellent way to start our visit. Then all the exhibits actually inside the castle were really engaging and interactive! I felt like there was loads to do and I learnt loads. Also the view from the top over Nottingham was lovely!

Visiting Wollaton Park was a dream come true for me as a Batman fan. The moment I found out this was the filming location for Wayne Manor in The Dark Knight Rises, I knew I had to see it—and standing there in front of Wollaton Hall honestly left me in awe. The building is absolutely stunning, with its towering windows and intricate stonework. For a moment, it really felt like I was stepping into Bruce Wayne’s world. The park itself is just as beautiful as the Hall. Wide green spaces, autumn leaves scattered across the grass, and peaceful paths made it feel both grand and calm at the same time. I could’ve stayed there for hours just walking around and taking it all in. The staff were also really friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. You can tell they care about the place and its history, and they were happy to chat and answer questions. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. As a Batman nerd, it felt like a pilgrimage to Wayne Manor. But even if you’re not into Batman, Wollaton Park is still an incredible spot to explore—beautiful, relaxing, and full of character.

Great place to visit. The car park is £5, I paid for this in the shop, giving them my number plate. The park is very extensive but it was fantastic to see the deer so close. The house is fascinating with all the natural history displays. This was £15 but the ticket lasts a year. The gardens were also very nice and the view down to the lake was beautiful. The cafe was ok, not the largest selection of food and the drinks were all served in cardboard drinking cups. All the staff everywhere were very friendly and helpful. The shop was nice to look around and standard prices. The toilet facilities were good and clean. There were some near the cafe and in the house. I definitely recommend a visit. On a warm summers day it would be a lovely place to bring a picnic and make a day of it.

Visited the walled gardens specifically. A wonderful, relaxing and fascinating project to restore the site. Lovely volunteers working at the site and amazing progression being made. Only open set times during the summer for tours. A warm welcome. This is a very special place.

The park is about 500 acres. Many children at the playground, families on picnic rugs, deer wandering through acreage. Camellia House & Wollaton Hall are so different. Enjoyed every moment.

Lovely grounds, plenty of deer and a nice walk in fresh air. There are toilets, a café and gift shop.if you need them. You need the Ringgo app to park and pay £6.10 for all day.

What a wonderful place for a walk, the gardens are beautiful and it was lovely to see the deer and the birds, especially the Mandarin duck. We didn't go into the house this time but will definitely look around next time we are there. There's a lovely cafe and 2 shops. Well worth a visit.

Amazing weekend out for all the family. Look for a hotel stay with extra day free park entry tickets because you will need 2 days, at least, to see everything. Park is large, good selwxtion of animals and animatronic dinosaurs. Lots of play parks, soft play, indoor play, cafes and restaurants. Staff in the park, hotel, and shops were exceptional and very informative. Costs are very reasonable for food and gifts.

It's a fun day out for everyone! There's loads of free parking, but stick to the regular car park unless you're staying at the hotel. The animals have big enclosures. You can find the feeding times at the entrance. You can buy a map at the entrance or download the app. I reckon the best way to see the Park is to go right after you get through the turnstiles. Head through Pangea, the dinosaur bit. Watch out for the spitting dino! It'll take you 2 to 3 hours to walk around. Wear comfy shoes. There are plenty of places to eat and picnic spots for the kids. Drinks and snacks are a bit pricey, but hey, that's what you get when you're captive audience! We visited at the beginning of October and saw at least 90% of the animals.

Very good parking and a large footprint. Contains several play areas and eating establishment's. A good variety of animals and good viewing areas. In windier/colder weather, be aware that some areas are closed off and there's a chance you may not see certain animals. Could be better signposting throughout the park in my opinion. Overall it is worth the visit.

What a day! I honestly felt like a little kid again. It’s been years since I last visited a zoo or wildlife park, and I was completely in my element. The staff were so friendly, the animals were fantastic, and the walk-through areas were an absolute highlight. Such a lovely experience from start to finish – I can’t wait to go back!

Fantastic place. Awesome day out, animals look very well looked after with big enclosures, originally went to see Capybara due to an obsessed child, nice little walk around to be within a few feet of one. Plenty put stops to eat or have a picnic. Highly recommend.

Visited many times in the past but this time it was for the Light Festival. Couldn't fault anything. Food options at The Hive are varied and obviously lots of things to do/see - although of course most of the animals were abed! The staff were helpful and kind , even after a long day of helping. Easy to get to and exit - but that's by car. Can't speak about other transport options. The Light Festival is worth a visit; it's truly a 'walk-of-art'!!

Nicely laid out, great attractions and plenty of different animals, it was nice to see them in decent enclosurs. Went for the Halloween event which had 5 sections to find, they was big ques but they didn't make you feel rushed. Will definitely visit again.

It was our first visit and we hadn't realised how big the site was. We recently had English Heritage membership, so had free entry. There was ample free parking and the ruins of the old house and impressive newer house. Lots of interesting history and rooms you can access, such as Bess' bed chamber. Lots of tapestries, including one made by Queen Mary. Nice shop and cafe and beautiful gardens. Plenty to see and do.

A really amazing place to visit. We only expected to be a couple of hours at most, but there was so much to see. The visit also includes the adjacent old hall ruins. The house is stunning, and the interiors are decorated with the most amazing embroidery which hangs from almost every wall and room. The volunteers are very friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about the property. We took our dog and he was welcome in an area of the restaurant, which was nice as it was cold and raining. We would have liked to walk more of the grounds and gardens, but the weather put us off. They do look stunning and I'm sure on a better day would have been very enjoyable.

Fantastic to look around. Amazing house and gardens, easily able to spend a full day there and more. I could just look at the tapestries for days! Well worth a visit if you're into history or just beautiful places.

We haven't been here for quite a few years and we're pleasantly surprised, there is a lot more to see and do. The guides were interesting and knowledgeable but not overpowering like at some properties. A very pleasant day out 😁

Expect an expansive estate as the drive from the entrance to the parking lot must be a mile long. This property features two historic buildings: Old Hardwick Hall and the Renaissance style Manse known as Hardwick Hall. Bess of Hardwick was born in the original hall and had it renovated to impress guests in 1587. When her 4th husband died and she came into substantial funds she built the latter and present day manse. We were able to tour both with our National Trust memberships (via Royal Oak Society). One can climb to the top of the Old Hall for a bit of a view of the countryside if the weather is accommodating. There are no handrails, though, so take walking sticks if you think you need support while traversing the original stone steps. The Manse is huge and the tour is quite extensive. It is self guided but volunteers are available for questions. Some unique features are the longest Elizabethan Long Hall in the National Trust holdings. It has 450 year old tapestries hanging on the walls. There are also four noble women tapestries that Bess designed specifically for this house. She was obviously quite a talented woman. There are some gardens along the front and the back of the house, but not a formal designed style like you see on some properties. Parking was in a very large lot a bit of a distance from the entrance. There is a cafe on the grounds that offers a delicious cream tea as well as a myriad of other delights, all reasonably priced.

Intriguing place punched atop a hill looking out sadly over the M1 now, but back in the day it would have been quite the most magnificent spot for party's. Some old Yes topiary and magnificent Cedar of Lebanon stand century in the garden providing a great contrast from the pinkish yellow stone and unbelievable lead pane windows which adorn the hall.

A wonderful historical place of interest with stunning tapestries. We spent a very happy 3 and a half hours there. Checking out the history of bess's family, with help from the very knowledgeable volunteers. Strolling the gardens and climbing the 127 steps of old Hardwick hall. Then stopping for a very tasty cheese scone and coffee in the restaurant.

Compared to other castles and British monuments, this attraction isn't very extensive. It essentially consists of two buildings: a medieval mansion for receiving guests, and the castle, where the nobility resided. Furthermore, since the attraction was once abandoned, most of the furniture and decorations are missing or damaged. Despite this, it's still well worth a visit. The castle is built on a magnificent hill, offering stunning views of the surrounding area from the castle gate. The interior is also unique, and wandering through the rooms makes you feel like you've stepped back into the Middle Ages.As a half-day family weekend trip, followed by a good lunch, I think it is very good.

English heritage site well conserved with good information. Spectacular views on clear days. Dog friendly in areas without a roof, except for the café. Friendly informative staff. Fairly good free parking around Bolsover. Only negative is signage to the castle. Well worth a visit.

Nice little castle to explore in a great setting with lot's of ruins. The smaller castle is very interesting, with lot's of winding stairs, marble fireplaces, paintings, architecture etc. Some great views from the castle and there's also a nice walled walk accessible from inside the castle. I'd probably say it would take 2-3 hours at most to explore everything. There's free parking and also some additional parking nearby that you have to pay for. Also on site There's a small playground that is quite good, which is very close by to the cafe. We didn't use the cafe so not sure on prices - quality of food. There's also a few benches around so you could sit and bring your own food if you like. There's a nice gift shop there to, which is definitely overpriced but they always are. There's also a nice wetherspoons nearby if you wanted breakfast/lunch. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable here.

A very small castle, but my goodness what a history. to be honest you can normally walk around it in an hour but on my visit 25.8.25 there was a jousting display and static displays of medieval life with interesting talks. A superb family day out for all ages. I really can't recommend joining English Heritage highly enough, the whole day, and it was a whole day was fabulous.

Great castle and stunning views. We went while the Halloween events were on and my 6 year old absolutely loved it. I think it would have been nice for more information to be around to read, for those of us that didn't pick up an audio guide (they are hard to listen to with a young child running around), some short descriptions of each of the rooms around the castle would have been really interesting. But overall really enjoyed our visit!

We visited Bolsover Castle to 21st November 2025. It is a fabulous Castle, there is plenty to do for all ages. A very nice coffee shop and gift shop, children's adventure playground and plenty of outdoor seating. The Castle very interesting to walk round. There are some out of this world veiws of Derbyshire from the Castle.

Bolsover in my opinion is the best example of 17th century castles I've been to. Built purely for entertaining royalty and the hierarchy it truly shows how the other half lived. I recommend you book online if you are not a member of English heritage and allow yourself at least 3 hours to look around,free audio machines available for free which are very informative.

Great indoor outlet with over 100 stores. Separate upstairs food court. Covered outdoor children's play area. Massive car park. Easy parking for motorhomes on entry road and in coach park.

Great facilities choice of places to eat, plenty of stores with some great bargains. The only issue going towards Christmas is if you don't arrive early then parking and being able to access the outlet without queueing in traffic is extremely unlikely. Definitely worth it.

Some decent shops and a decent food court. Slim chickens is good for food and there are a couple others in the food court like Wagamama, McDonald’s, Subway and a couple more, would be nice to have some more variation though. The shops are mostly designer but there are a few everyday ones here too. Good place to go every now and then. Toilets are available and accessible

I recently visited The Body Shop in the York Designer Outlet with my family, and I can honestly say it was one of the best customer service experiences we’ve had in a long time. We were helped by Joseph and Jazz, who were both absolutely amazing. Even though our children were a bit disruptive at times, Joseph and Jazz were incredibly patient, caring, and understanding. They spoke to the kids, kept them engaged, and made the whole visit feel relaxed rather than stressful. Joseph took the time to walk me through all the products I was interested in and clearly explained the different offers available. He came across as someone who is knowledgeable, passionate about the products, and truly customer-focused. While he was helping me, Jazz was assisting my wife with the same level of professionalism and friendliness. Overall, Joseph and Jazz turned what could have been a hectic shopping trip into a really enjoyable experience. We left feeling well looked after and appreciated. Highly recommend this store and their wonderful team!

Exceptionally busy on a Saturday evening but very clean and tidy, good selection of shops and restaurants. The Wagamama is excellent. The winter wonderland left a little to be desired and the parking was a challenge - some people had resorted to parking on the grass verge

Visited primarily to charge the car. Huge queue to get in (and out). All the standard outlet stores. Good place to visit but why do all these mega outlets only have 1 way in and out. They are obviously highly popular, for good reason, add in EV charging hubs and seasonal attractions and surely the planners must have realised access would be a nightmare. Why do they always underestimate the infrastructure?

It was such a beautiful experience! Serene, great prices and close to every designer brand is located here. My first time, definitely not the last.

A very interesting English Heritage site: completely unique with a harrowing story attached to it. Our guide was knowledgeable and kept the narrative interesting. It's a great activity to do in York, and practically a must if you are already and English Heritage member.

It was a fascinating way to spend an hour learning about the history of the bunker and the part it played in the UK's early warning system. The tour was led by knowledgeable staff who share their passion generously. Unfortunately, my teenage daughter suddenly felt very faint at the end of the tour but she was really well looked after by our lovely tour guide (I can't remember her name, sorry). She also took great care to ensure that my daughter was given privacy from other members of the public who were understandably curious. Her kindness was appreciated.

Absolutely loved our time here, I’m so glad we took the time to visit. It’s very different to your usual English Heritage experience! We watched a short video about the Cold War before the guide Sean took our group around the bunker and gave a very informative talk about what life would have been like inside the bunker as well as what the rooms were used for and how various systems work. It is frozen in time down there, if you’re a Fallout fan you’ll love it! The tour is given to a small group and lasts about 50 minutes in total. Arrive at least ten minutes before the hour so they can check you in. It’s nice and cool in there so also a surprisingly good hot summer day activity! It’s definitely great for older kids but just be aware that the intro video is about nuclear war and is pretty grim, with some makeup effects to show the effects of radiation. If you have younger or sensitive kids you can opt out of the video; the rest of the tour is kid-friendly. Very cool, very different and totally worth your time. Thank you to the awesome guide Sean for his enthusiastic and excellent talks!

A grim but fascinating glimpse of our not so distant past. The stories and living conditions of the personnel, the sacrifices they were willing and did take take on our behalf, whilst we worried about about the mundane. Fascinating. Visits are strictly managed by booked guided tours only-no walk ins accepted.

Only open on specific weekends we'll worth booking a visit. The tour takes just under an hour and shows how basic the technology for identifying a necula attack was. The guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. If you get the opertunity book a visit.

It was okay, but a short tour, mostly talking & was all done in 40mins. Good job I'm not far away from this.

This was a great find within York, although if you are walking it's about 40 minutes from the City Centre - but relatively flat. Very enthusiastic guide. Because of the stairs involved it might be tricky to impossible for people with mobility issues, but I am sure if you contact the staff ahead of time if there is anything they could do, they would do it. Lots of interesting knowledge from the guide, we both really enjoyed it.

Been here before. Plenty of shops and food quarter to eat in. Stayed in hotel near by so could return with better photos. Plenty of security staff and shops clean and tidy. Had taco bell which was nice and hot. Popeyes which I found quite spicy. Overall shopping centre with lots of choices. Being on Sunday was very busy. And car park looked full. Xmas lights looked nice.worth a visit once xmas sets in.

Meadowhall is a massive shopping area right next to the M1 motorway. Been around a few year now and needs more upgrades in certain areas. Lots of parking in privately owned car park free for a certain amount of hours. Lots of big brand shopping outlets for everyone’s needs regardless of age or gender. There used to be a lot more individually owned shops rather than just jig department stores which is a shame. I would go in the week if possible weekends are mental. No supermarkets but a M & S so most things covered. Worth going to for sure.

Meadowhall is a huge shopping centre, so huge that I felt overwhelmed. At times I was disoriented and had no idea which section of the shopping centre I was in. Virtually every high street shop is present along with a few independents. My favourite shop was Lindt Chocolates. If you enjoy large shopping, you may live Meadows which has great variety of shops and eateries!

Meadowhall remains a bustling shopping hub, offering a mix of retail, dining, and entertainment. The Oasis Dining Quarter provides various food options, making it a great spot for a break during shopping. As for Motorfest, it was a spectacular event featuring Hollywood cars, classic vehicles, and even Transformers like Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. The event also supported Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, with charity. Visitors enjoyed live music, arts and crafts, and even supercar passenger rides for donations. It was a truly great experience.

Came for Christmas shopping. Place was easy accessable for my wheelchair. Beautiful decorations there is an abundance of different things to shop for and veriaty of food to eat

Love meadowhall with its range of shops and free parking. Plenty of places to eat too. I would not advise going in school holidays or as Christmas approaches,on a Saturday. It does get very busy but we enjoyed our visit on a Friday late November.

Great shopping center and easy to reach via public transport, has a train station. Plenty of parking. It's huge, very easy to get lost but that's all part of it. Pretty much every shop you'd imagine to be in such a large place. Plenty of good food and things to do. Definitely worth a visit.

Had a fantastic day here. The staff were fantastic. The in character staff were amazing and so friendly and knowledgeable. Special shout goes to Mel who showed us round one of the caves. She was fantastic and a real credit to you. So funny and knowledgable. There’s lots to do up there. The cable car ride is great. 2 caves to tour and plenty of fun for the kids on the play grounds. The cafe was brilliant. Had a lovely panini in there and some lovely cake. We came on a weekday outside of the school holidays and didn’t have to wait for anything. Lots of walking to be done and some is rather steep.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience here today. It was our first time visiting and had no idea what to expect, but what a day we had. I’ve come to write a review because I want to give recognition to Lorin, the lovely guy that did our Cavern tour. He was so helpful, approachable, and even took the time out to stay back and show us some fossils in the final cavern, because my autistic son’s special interest is dinosaurs. He was brilliant with both of my children and made the tour really quite special. Give this man a raise immediately HoA! 🥲🤣

Great couple of hours at least spent with great views . The Cave experience is informative and interesting. The cafe is very good with great selection at reasonable prices. parking is in the station carpark payable . Blue badge holders can pay for time and get an hour ontop free. It is a short walk to the cable car ticket office. Just be aware that the last 150yard to Ticket office is steep.

Plenty to see and do. The cable cart was good fun being dangled so high up. The tower was great for the veiws and cave tours were both informative and entertaining. The staff are all friendly and good fun. Lots of walking involved, but well worth it.

Heights of Abraham is a fantastic family destination—perfect for both toddlers and older kids, with plenty of land to explore, play areas, and exhibits to keep everyone entertained. We especially enjoyed the Wombles exhibition—it was fun and whimsical, and offered something a bit different. The views from the hilltop are absolutely lovely, trampling over the Derwent Valley and surrounding countryside, making the cable car ride all the more magical. The food was okay, but nothing to write home about—not quite matching the beauty of the surroundings. I was also disappointed that they didn’t have a chai latte on the drinks menu, and vegan soft serve ice cream wasn’t available—both would have been great choices to round off a lovely day. Admission is on the steep side: adult tickets cost about £25 online or £28.50 at the gate  . It felt quite expensive, especially for a shorter visit, but with a longer stay it might be more justifiable. Overall, it’s a beautiful and memorable place with a lot to offer families. With improvements to the food and drink options, it would be near-perfect!

Wonderful day out, perfect for dogs also, they are allowed everywhere but caverns and the Vista restaurant. Food a little pricey but picnic tables are everywhere for a packed lunch. The cable car stops half way up for stunning view pictures.

Had a great little visit here. Really enjoyed the cave lighting show, the cable car, live band playing, beautiful views. Food wasn’t cheap but wasn’t too over priced. Staff were all friendly and pleasant to talk to which always makes a difference. Would definitely return.

Loved my visit here. The garden centre is fantastic and I only wish I had more money to spend in there! Massive choice of homeware, clothing, food and gardening supplies plus really nice eating places. There’s a small petting farm and also Wentworth gardens to visit. I really recommend a visit. Dog friendly too.

We had a wonderful day out at the garden centre yesterday!! There’s so much to do and lots of shopping opportunities!! We had our dog with us and she loved all the exploring. We had lunch at the back of the cafe. It was very busy, but the food came very quickly!! There were plenty of choices for all appetites!! We also went to the Historic garden (£2.95 entry) and explored the maze and gardens. There was a dinosaur trail which lots of younger children loved! The gift shop wasn’t dog friendly, but I loved it! So many gift ideas and foods for hampers! We can’t wait to return and maybe try The Bothy when we don’t bring our pooch!!

This has to be one of the best garden centres around. The grounds are beautiful and there is a superb cafe serving hot and cold meals plus two smaller cafes on site. The displays at Christmas are fabulous and some unique gifts can be found. Definitely worth a visit.

This is a garden centre with a difference, you have excellent catering facilities and garden centre products . Then you have areas for the children, dinosaur trail, animal farm area and then various ay areas and equipment. Plus, the entry price for the various elements isn't exorbitant. Quite the opposite. It's a really good place to bring your kids.

Wonderful large garden centre with enormous range of plants. Ranging from spring/summer bedding plants. Flowering shrubs - Camellias Wisteria etc fruit trees, roses, house plants etc. Enormous range of ceramic pots, troughs and tubs - glazed and unglazed (frost safe) Just about everything you could ever want, good quality and fair prices. Large cafe area too.

Went there on the first days of November and the garden had free entrance even though I saw some prices to enter it but the payment kiosk was closed. Great place to have a walk around and they have a labirinth as well.

Lovely visit to the garden centre, ate at the Walled Garden and spent ages browsing in the shop, especially at all the Christmas section. So well thought and laid out and dressed and displayed beautifully.

We go every year to the pumpkin festival! It’s become a family tradition. They were smart to add a halal vendor finally! The business that does not adapt will not survive in the long run. So good on them for learning the demographic! The gelato from the farm shop was delicious! I have nothing bad to say, it’s always a great time!

We had a very pleasant afternoon having lunch and browsing the farm shops! It’s very well organised and has plenty of parking. It’s dog friendly everywhere including the farm shop which was brilliant! There’s plenty of space for children to let off steam! They’ve currently have PYO sunflowers which you need to book tickets online. Lunch was great and you can order from a QR code at your table!

Not for us, today, I am afraid. Popped in on way south from Berwick-upon-Tweed to Solihull, but no light snack in the restaurant. Tried the coffee shop bit just cakes and ice-cream there. Staff proper friendly and we were allowed to buy some food from the farm shop and eat it with our coffees in the cafe.

Overpriced rip off for the Pumpkin Festival so, be warned as you need a ton of cash. I dont believe that if you have to pay tickets into any event that you should then have to keep paying extortionate prices for the whole time you are there. Obviously I'm not saying everything should be free, but come on, stop taking the mick. On our day there were lots of things to do like archery, axe throwing, paintballing and lots of photo opportunities which is all very nice, but the rides and food were a rip off. You'll notice on the rides themselves that most prices aren't listed, that's so that they can change the prices at any given time. Food sellers were the same, all prices were written in chalk so that they can be rubbed out or changed deciding on however much of a rob they're on that day. Some prices obviously amended with fluorescent shapes to be changed also. I mean I'm not a grumpy old man and we did get something to eat, but I just think places like this should be regulated and fined if they charge over the odds. Burgers were lovely, but £7 for a plain burger with no chips that you are eating outside sat on a bench if you're lucky to find one. Not right. The same burgers in Leeds market are £3. Kids hotdogs for £5, shaking my head at that one too, especially when we can see the Aldi/Lidl jars of hotdogs being emptied out in front of us that cost just over £2 and a pack of buns that cost 99p for 6. The Indian food van looked and smelled great but £19 for an Indian platter that I would have to eat on a bench outdoors is just daft. Same with the Greek food van, over a tenner for each meal. Not surprising that some of the food stalls looked like they were struggling for business, the only winners were those that had chips on for £4.50 and even then a very small tray of chips. You're charging restaurant prices for outdoor grub and that's not on. You're charging well over people's budgets for rides and especially for the short times they are on them. One go on the Helter Skelter was £4, yes one go, one miserly little turn. Did you enjoy that kids yeah, now bugger off to the next ride that costs £5 or how about the Dodgems for £7 a car. Kids rides should be £1.50 max, £4-£7 limits a lot of families and disappoints a lot of kids. The gift shop was no better, £5.69 for a bag of giant marshmallows that are £3 in other places. A right rip off of a festival and I imagine all upcoming festivals will be the same, Christmas, don't even bother, can you imagine.

Went for the Pumpkin Patch and had a really nice time - lots of variety of types and sizes and costs, lots of entertainment and shows and food stalls, it was mostly really good. However! The chefs in the cafe need to learn how to cook bacon. I ordered the burger, and the fat on the bacon was so rubbery I could patch up a tyre with it! Cooking bacon so the fat isn't rubbery isn't rocket science, though the chefs absolutely failed at it. Wasted 10 minutes removing the fat off the bacon (picture included).

omg what a place its a hidden gem. came here for the very 1st time and so glad we came. had a walk around the farm shop and samples of there home made produce that was on offer and ofcourse this made us buy the product as it tasted amazing would highly recommend. stumbled across a room called The Hayloft we had a cheeky peek in there and found an amazing set up of softplay being assembled i asked the lady who was setting it up and she told me it was for a private birthday party for a 1 yr old. Didnt relise that you can hire out the venue this is amazing weve now made enquiries for our own 2nd birthday party for our grandaughter at that venue if you need the softplay you need to follow them on instagram the_party_events_company for your bookings they are yorkshire based which is a bonus😁🐃🐴

Was brilliant. Cannot rate the food as i didnt have any. There was archery, axe throwing, paintballing and photo opportunities. Think my dog loved it more than the daughter lol

This made a good treat towards a hard studying week for my son. Costs a lot relative to what I saw my son doing, but he enjoyed anyway.

An expensive but fun day out. 4d golf is good, but we found the 2nd course more enjoyable than the first. The Cell escape room was also great fun and recommend.

I did my workplace first aid course in the church here, the course was great, and it was a bonus there was plenty places to grab a bite to eat whilst I was there. It was a little hot in the building as it was a very warm week, so maybe a bit more air-conditioning wouldn't go amiss. Plenty parking and right off the motorway too 👍

Fun mini-golf course with cool T-Rex theme. But it is pretty expensive. Still, a good time overall!

Great place for adventure for the kids and adults from mini golf to wall climbing trampolines bowling gootopia to name but a few also great restaurants to eat highly recommended wish we had one near me

Visited on our way from Wakefield to York. Fantastic variety of restaurants and activities. We ate in Frankie and Benny's which was good. The centre is bright and clean and well set out. Although we did not use any of the activities we were told by a friend they are amazing. We were also told the cinema is currently closed so please check before going.

What a great place to spend the wet days of the school holidays with the kids! Getting them to run around the soft play to burn off that energy and then we went for a chilled game of dino crazy golf ⛳️ - soo much more to go and do! Will definitely be going back and trying all the other entertainment

Went to Chatsworth for the Christmas markets, light trail and to see the house wonderfully decorated for Christmas. Really enjoyed the decorations in the house, which was a nature theme this year, bringing the outside in. The grandeur of the house is magnificent, with a great history, you can wander round at your own leisure. There are guides in every room who are friendly and very approachable ready to answer any questions you may have. There are lots of places to eat and drink and some nice gift shops, plenty of toilets and amenities for baby changing and people with disabilities. The grounds are extensive and well kept, I particularly liked the rock garden, which looked lovely lit up. The market is very good, with all the usual Christmas stalls, selling gifts and food/wine/ gin tasting, most off the stalls I did notice were card only, I did draw some cash out and ended up spending it in the gift shops. The ground the stalls are on is all got a ground cover on so not muddy. There is plenty of seating areas for when you grab a coffee or burger etc.

We enjoy visiting Chatsworth House. This time an art exhibition was on display, which changed the experience in a positive way. We don’t always get to see the animals, but we were able to this time around. The weather was great. The staff were helpful. We had a poke around the shops. A lovely day out. I would recommend to anyone, especially if you haven’t been before

Visited Chatsworth Christmas on the 23rd November. It was truly a lovely day. The Christmas market is excellent, very different from your average UK Christmas market. The quality of food, drink and products on offer was brilliant. Definitely visit the Scone hut, they are truly to die for. Chatsworth House Christmas display is outstanding and walking the garden just adds that extra dimension to a great day. Add in the gift shops and the overall atmosphere and you will not be disappointed. If you are local in Derbyshire then do one thing, go to Chatsworth, its a no brainer.

The Chatsworth Christmas ticket gives you access to the House, unlimited entry to the gardens for one day, and you can also access the Christmas market (which is free). It’s a lovely day out and well worth the ticket price. Be warned, food and drink inside is very pricey (but what do you expect?). I’d recommend the Stables for something lovely and warm that doesn’t break the bank.

Fabulous visit to chatsworth house & Christmas Market. Lovely stalls to look round. You will love the house with all the Christmas trees and the wonderful decorations. The walk round the gardens were just wonderful too. So worth a visit at this time of year.

An absolutely magical, Christmas experience! The house itself is mind blowing and each room makes you gasp with how much detail and care has gone into each and every decoration. It was laid out perfectly and even had sounds and scents through each experience. The gardens were beautiful to walk through and the Christmas markets were spectacular 😍 There was something for everyone to enjoy there! I cant wait to come back again next year 🎄✨️🎁

Bought tickets well in advance to visit the house and also the Christmas markets. My family enjoyed visiting the house, it's very easy to get around there are a few staircases which you need to navigate. As the visit is in preparation for Christmas there are lots of Christmas trees beautifully presented throughout and the staff are very helpful and informative. I thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas markets; having been to lots of busy public access Christmas markets like Manchester, Liverpool, York etc it was a fantastic relaxing experience to be able to walk around freely and visit the different vendors. Will certainly look at returning.

Steam train on a regular line. A spectacular day out. It’s a regular line and engine, now maintained by a volunteer organisation. There are both steam and diesel engines. The carriage has a great bar with local beers. The shops at the station have interesting gifts. People are super friendly.

Small,but perfectly formed line,with immaculately preserved stations. Staff very personable,great carriage stock,and excellent value for money,with a great addition of the museum,adding to the all round experience. Fantastic to be on the iconic platform, as featured in the Railway Children,and of course,the quaint smallest station in Britain. My son is a railway enthusiast,and adored it. Highly recommended

Really enjoyable train ride. Good views. Travelled in a carriage that didn't have a bar, however when stopping at Keighley and Oxenhope, there's enough time to get off and grab a drink. Great for kids too. Some carriages are accessible for prams. Would advise getting on earlier, we got off in the evening and it was getting busy

I myself recently re-visited the historically renowned keighley & worth valley railway on saturday 8th of November 2025 (with my P.A. accompanying me), we travelled by train from morley/leeds all the way up to keighley... went up the steps and across back in time once again as we descended onto platforms 3 & 4 for the heritage train bound for oxenhope, Throughout my latest revisit to west yorkshire's branch line heritage railway, We checked out the successfully uniquely restored old water tower/column on platform 4 - which I consider a splendid site to behold - whilst we waited for the oxenhope-bound passenger train, which was hauled by that brilliantly uplifting ex-LMS stanier black five tender locomotive number 44932 that gave us (and the rest of the other passengers) an enjoyable train journeying up the valley of the river behind the KWVR's very name (as well as it's nature), It was great revisiting all the stations along the line, especially Ingrow (west), Damems, Oakworth, Haworth, and of course the outstanding Oxenhope - from where we watched the brilliantly steaming balck five run-round it's train bound for the return journey back down to keighley, I also took plenty of photos, well, quite a lot... along the line, especially safely from carriage window, for whom I do hope the KWVR itself really likes them, as I hear by share some as part of my latest review on west yorkshire's branch line heritage railway. Hope to come back & revisit the KWVR someday.

Booked the Haworth Haddock and had a fabulous time. Steam train from Oxenhope to Keighley, fish & chips, on board bar and the brilliant Night Patrol played on the platform. You can pick your tickets up early which allows you to travel the line during the day. Staff are lovely, they all work hard to make sure you have a good night. Fabulous to see such enthusiasm. Well worth a visit but if you get the chance for one of their themed events definitely book it!

£16 for full line return £23 for all day hop on, hop off Lovely journey with picturesque views. Some journeys are diesel, others steam. Check which ones but some have hot drinks and snacks available on board too.

A lovely day out. Diesel and steam were running. The engine sheds were open and very informative. All the staff working that day were friendly and helpful. We bought a Rover ticket which allowed us to hop off at station's along the line.
