The tower is the main attraction of this place, in my opinion. The historical museum area nearest the tower is interesting as well and has some good information about the site and some artifacts to look at. There are other parts of the site you can visit -- eg, an art museum/exhibit, and also other parts of the site where you can see its old structures and architecture. It's not exactly "exciting", but it has some historical value and the entrance fee is low enough that it is of decent value despite its lack of "fireworks". The climb to the tower is something kids can do (toddlers might get tired of the climb), and the view of the town from the top is a great reward. There is a viewing-scope (telescope) at the top that I think you can use a coin to use. It was a great experience for me to walk around the inside of the tower and imagine how it must have been to be an ancient person using the tower in a similar way long ago in the past. What fun!

I love a fort... This is a great way to spend the afternoon learning about the oldest building in Berlin going back to 1230. Definitely get the audio tour for 2 euro as it's critical to knowing what is going on. I wish they hadn't converted a lot of it into current uses - club/concert area and art studios but I get it too. There are some nice art exhibits in the old barracks but it would been cooler to see what the original barracks looked like. Wild to think of the gas testing before/during WW2 and all of the history that came before it.

Great historical place in Spandau with amazing differnet exhibitions and events happening during the year including Xmas markets. The tower gives an amazing view and the courtyard exhibitions are great for history lovers.

Surprisingly large citadel with few visitors so it feels like you have the place to yourself. I recommend climbing the Julius Tower for a great panoramic view of the surrounding area. The museum exhibits aren't super clearly marked and can be a bit hard to find, but they were informative and worth the visit.

We’ve visited Germendorf Park several times, and each visit has been a real pleasure. One of the absolute highlights is the beautiful, friendly deer (“bambis”), which are especially gorgeous in spring after they’ve shed their winter coats. The park is easy to reach from Berlin — it takes around 35 minutes by car, and the parking fee is only €2. The entrance and on-site prices are very reasonable and much more affordable compared to many other parks. Overall, it’s a great place to spend a relaxed day in nature with family or friends. Definitely worth a visit

Great park with a ton of things to do for kids, and not just dinosaurs. Our daughter loved the whole vibe. It's pretty close to Berlin if you travel in a car. Get an online ticket if you want to skip the long queues.

A beautiful experience. The park is for all kids not just Dino lovers. They have other animals in there too. And the deers are free ranging, you can pet them and feed them from the Vanding Machine. Imbiss, Clean Toilet and Playground is also available. Overall 5stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It’s a very good place to visit with kids. The park has different areas where kids can see nicely made life-like dinosaur replicas, a small zoo and farm animals. It also has different play areas for kids and a lake. Prices for food and rides are quite reasonable (not really expensive). Overall a very family-friendly park. You can spend between 3-4 hours, or longer if you wish, walking around.

We visited while visiting family in Berlin. The park is huge and such a fun way to spend the day. You could spend a whole day here without the kids getting bored. There’s the Dino park, which is very large. Petting zoos with roaming deer, options to swim when the weather is nice, many different food options and much more we didn’t get to see.

Great price at entrance and parking. Good theme park! It’s a large park with different entertainments. There are animals you get to pat and feed. A cafe with a lot of toys. Small trains and cars. It costs something little like 50 cents or 1 euro. The entrance is quite good price at 6 euro. Parking costs 1 only. Food there is not expensive at all, quite fair price. Tastes pretty OK. We enjoyed a lot and will definitely visit again. Highly recommended!

Great experience for the family and kids. Very affordable, even though you have to pay for everything inside with coins (restrooms, food, drinks, attractions, binoculars, volcano etc). Nonetheless to be able to get up and close to the animals and attractions is awesome. The kids love it. Wish the dinosaur park itself has more trees or shady areas as when we were there, the sun was shining down hot and there was almost nowhere to go and avoid the sunshine. The statues are lovely with great details, prices for food and drinks are affordable. There are also small ponds where the kids can jump in and cool down. We will be back as our son had so much fun and there was still plenty to see.

Have been there many times. Most recently, today! 😊 As everyone says, this is a bad choice if you’re creeped out by nudity. Even on textile days, you’re gonna have to face that. Otherwise, I have to say the place changes character quite a lot depending on when you go. On this Monday evening, it was very chill. The warm pool with the swim-up bar is to die for. Worth the trek just for that! It’s also a solid 1/2 train ride from Berlin, then a 15 minute walk. Very doable, but just so you know!

Pretty nice overall though a bit too crowded for my taste. Probably best to avoid Wednesdays, Fridays and weekends. Wide range of saunas but nothing too special. The food is hit or miss. The pasta dishes are terrible but the pizza was tasty and not too expensive.

I am a big fan of FKK culture and often swim naked at Lakes. I love the architecture, the water temperatures, the heavenly salt water pool outside at this place. However a recent visit was very unpleasant. Old and extremely cantankerous people patrol the pool and verbally assault anyone wearing a swim suit. My partner and son were uncomfortable being naked in the swimming pool and were therefore repeatedly harassed. The staff are mostly absent and horrible angry elderly grouches are allowed to assert ownership of this otherwise lovely place

The staff was super polite, the pools had joyful temperatures and sufficient sun loungers available. The restaurant offers a very good selection of light meals and a rich salad bar. We're looking forward to visiting the Wohlfühlterme again soon.

We visited this place today. We travelled quite a long way to get here. It's a really great place to relax, no reason to regret it. We did not encounter any situations where the issue of nudity was not respected by other visitors. On Monday, we expected less traffic, but we were quite surprised. There were really a lot of people already at 10 a.m. I hope that rules here will be maintained and won't change. We'll definitely be back.

I love this place and visit it every time I am back Home in Berlin for a visit. My Buddies and I just enjoy it very much. In the Summer you can relax outside and work on your Tan. The Food is very good and there are a lot of options. The Facilities are very clean and well Maintained. I get a Massage every time and it rounds out the experience for me. It's certainly a great way relax and forget what is going on. Especially in the current situation. I am glad that they where able to weather the Storm and survive. I love all the different Saunas and Steam Rooms. There is something to do for everybody. I love relaxing in the Pool by the Bar and enjoy a nice Beer with my friends. It's such a cool feature. I am not sure why people complain about this place being FKK/ You should perhaps do some research before going. There are days where you can go and be dressed. I guess being German it's not a big deal for me at. I am going to be back in Berlin in August for a few month and will for sure visit it several times while there. Nice Therme with 4 Saunas, a quiet area which I didn't like because it was rather uncomfy with cheap blankets and a bad smell. Beds were also not supporting relaxation in the lake sauna. The library relaxation area is a little nicer but too small. In the lake sauna, you probably always find a seat because it's huge, and you have a nice view over the lake with the possibility to walk directly into the lake after the sauna visit. Especially during winter, quiet refreshing. The other area with the Saunas was good. Here, you have a live infusion, whereas in the lake sauna, it's automatic. There is also an ice area and two walk through showers for gold and hot water. The pools for my liking where all too cold and I didn't spend a minute in there. Overall a nice experience but there is potential to make it even nicer and a little more comfy.

Overall very underwhelming. Kitchen closes at 7pm, food is very expensive and of low quality. The only thing that is enjoyable is the lake sauna. Rather go to Vabali in Berlin for an experience 10 times as good at the same price. Terrible lighting concept, no customer experience design.

Great idea to escape busy Berlin for a day and just relax. Easily reachable by public transportation, the train station is just 10 minutes away walking so don't be afraid to go without a car. All facilities are very nice, pool and sauna and steam baths are the best and the bistro is totally worth it!

A bit further out from Berlin, so I can not get there as often as I would like. It would be great to go once a week and discover everything that they have to offer. The saunas are my favorite, such a nice mix of options and many great programs at regular intervals.

This place is a great place to relax. You can reach the place quite easily with the train and a short walk. I s there during Easter and while it was running at full capacity, it still felt quite empty so that relaxing was actually possible. This is really a highlight since in the other options in Berlin like Vabali or Liquidrom you feel like sardines packed in a can. The employees are really friendly and try their best to make your stay pleasant. Food options in the Therme itself were very limited and overpriced, but options in the hotel annexed are okay. Overall, great experience.

Very relaxing place, with various saunas and pools to choose from. I was here mid March but the cold did not matter in the warm pool outside, under the full moon. I have enjoyed it a lot and plan to go back as soon as possible.

The worst experience ever! The receptionist was rude and disrespectful. We only took 3 bathrobe sets but she entered 2 more into the bill without our consent. They refused to do anything when we asked for a correction, and fooled us to pay the whole amount by promising return the overpaid items to our bank account. The next day they changed their mind, said the only offer they can provide is two free sets for our next visit. How can we still trust such a company who lied and even stole from customers? Of course we won’t visit again! If you expect rudeness and arrogance, that would the a suitable place to go!

The main Lutherhaus is currently temporarily closed but we could visit the absorbing exhibition Literally Luther (Buchstäblich Luther). It gave lots of insight into Luther the person rather than as church reformer. The attached photos are from the exhibition as seen in May 2025.

Unfortunately the house-part was closed because of renovation!!:((( ( In Germany they renovate a lot of things in the high season!!!!) But there was another exhibition in the other part of the ex-monastery. The building is amazing and the exhibition is very interesting. I got a lot of new information about the group who worked with Luther they made me imagine how they translated the Bible. I can recommend if you are in Wittenberg!

Located at the beginning of the main street of the historical area, Lutherhaus will transport you in time to experience what people at that time use in their daily lives. The house, plus Luther's sayings as well as the whole collection of objects will give you a better understanding of the life of one of the important figures of the reformation. Highly recommend. Really informative museum of Luther’s life and religious legacy. You can find the house after walking through this large stone gate - picture added. The museum itself chronologically outlines major milestones in Luther’s “career”, you could say. It is astounding to see what one person’s courage could do for an entire religion.

Absolutely fascinating. Excellent museum to be found attached to the church, with some of the best audio visual demonstrations I have seen, by that I mean they are easy to use and in several different languages and capable of being tailored to suit the user (eg magnified if you don't have your glasses :-) ). The Tower is well worth the climb with magnificent views over the city and surrounding countryside. Martin Luther's grave is in this church and this is the church he nailed his famous theses to.

Amazing! This place was a world leader and is symbollic and of the modern movement in architecture and design in Europe in the 1900s. Celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. It has been restored, true to the original design after being closed by the racist regime of the 1930s. Well worth the visit for architects and designers.

Must-see for those interested in modernism and architecture as a whole. You can roam a part of the building freely. However, all classrooms and the entire student flats block are sadly inaccessible for visitors (except if you book a night in a flat!). The shop has a great selection of souvenirs. The workers were warm and friendly.

Mmmmm I love the bahhaus movement and the art from that time, but the institute itself doesnt do much for me. The exhibitions inside are about the history of the buildin; its beginnings, its time during nazi rule, its reconstruction, and its preservation. Another one focused on the design of one of the bauhaus styled lights. Both were interesting but I was hoping to simply see more bauhaus art (go to the museum for that). The structure itself, while iconic, didnt do much for me either. I think when it was built, it would have been revolutionary. I did love seeing the bauhaus styled lamps irl though :)

The houses look great from the outside, but are a disappointment inside. A little film made when one of the houses was first built, showing all the modern devices in the home showed what the houses could look like inside. Is money the prob lem, or do the foundation believe. It's better to show empty rooms?

The master house has been rebuilt by the berlin based studio Bruno Fioretti Marques in a contemporary way: volume and windows has been restored with new materials like light concrete and milky glass. Inside you will find a permanent installation of Olaf Nicolai with shades of white in the wall and temporary pieces of other artists. You can also see small models of the houses.

A truly unique architectural gem in Magdeburg, designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser and completed in 2005, shortly after his death. The building breaks away from conventional architecture with its irregular forms and rooftop gardens. While visually striking, the interior spaces—especially the shops and hotel—could benefit from more curated content that reflects Hundertwasser’s philosophy. In many ways, it feels like a cousin to Gaudí’s works in Barcelona, though on a much smaller and more commercial scale.

It’s a very special building, several shops, cofe shop on the first floor. If you want to go to the top, have to buy ticket at information place and people bring you inside every hour. We don’t have time this trip, but only the ground floor, very interesting shops a lot!

We took the tour (which was almost hourly during the weekend) which was surprisingly interesting. We learned a lot of cool and interesting facts about Hundertwasser and got to explore the different rooftop areas of the building. The Japanese restaurant on the ground floor is also worth a stop :)

Pretty church, the time we come in just has people speech, and then the organ play music. This area rear has Asia people, they speak Germany for sure, so I can’t really understand inside cultural relics. Plus you have to pay 2 euro if you want to take photos, so I put my cell phone ( translator) in bag. Buy post cards instead.

Magdeburg is a charming city with a rich history and a pleasant atmosphere for visitors. If you’re a history fan, you’re going to love this place. The stories about the history of the cathedral itself and King Otto are interesting. But for those who are more amazed by architectures, not really a bucket-list material. But I guess you’ll drop by because this is the no.1 sightseeing spot in Magdeburg. Oh by the way, it’s two euros to take photos inside. I would consider this as a donation to maintain this robust structure. Enjoy!

Gorgeous. A fun fact: The Magdeburger Dom is the oldest gothic cathedral in all of Germany!!! The people here are incredibly kind. And the outside is just as beautiful as the inside. I highly recommend taking some time to walk in a circle around the entire complex; you will thank me later!!! :)

The place is really good. There are two nearby houses on which vines and Ivy has grown which looks really amazing. The Elbe river is just 100 meter's from this Cathedral. One can walk along the bank of the Elbe river too. There are many nearby good restaurants too and the tram station is near too. One can reach the Cathedral within 10 minutes from the nearest tram station.

Huge. Dark. Impressive. Beautiful. A must-see when visiting Magdeburg. The high towers are a landmark that can be seen from far away already. Go inside and get lost beneath the perfectly crafted gothic construction which reaches high up into the sky. If you get lucky you might be hearing the organist doing some rehearsals.

Nice museum showing the history of Quidlinburg and the castle. Very informative when you can read and understand German - which we luckily do. Not much information in English. The whole walk to the castle is super nice with the old streets and there is a fantastic view over the city from the castle garden.

Not one of the most famous and therefore not very crowded. If you are in Leipzig or Dresden, it's good for a day trip. I'd especially recommend the guided tour to the upper floors of the tower.

The old town is dominated by the castle and church on the hill. The district is perfect for strolling through half-timbered houses and winding lanes. From the castle grounds there are views over the jumble of roofs and spires of Quedlinburg as well as the surrounding countryside and towards the Harz.

Beautiful castle with spectacular views of Wernigerode and Harz mountains. Very busy during my visit & somewhat disorganized. Could only find paid parking nearby with additional expense for a shuttle bus. However, there are several shuttle bus companies and you can't tell which is which until the driver kicks you off. But, still a nice place to visit.

Beautiful beautiful castle! Absolutely worth the visit. It has such a special atmosphere. There’s not much to see inside, but the view of the city from the top and inside courtyard are stunning. We were there on Sunday, end September, and there was no line.

Worth the walk uphill. Go early to beat the crowds. Enjoy a beer at the cafe inside. It’s a lot quieter than the one outside. On the walk down I took a detour on some of the paths. Very green and beautiful woods.

Stunning City Palace with a remarkable history. The old home of the Dukes of Braunschweig, the last of whom abdicated in 1918, the Schloss was destroyed twice, first by fire and then of course in the bombing raids of the Second World War. Against massive protests it was demolished in the 1960s and finally rebuilt in the 2000s to cover a shopping mall. You can easily spot the parts that came from the original Schloss. The architecture is beautiful and the site is in the centre of the city so absolutely a must visit when in Braunschweig. There’s a small museum in the left hand wing of the palace that is free, as well as the lifts to see the Quadriga at the very top that’s also free for the time being. The entrance is just to the right of the main entrance.

In Brunswick's schlossplatz stands the stunning building known as Brunswick Palace. When I passed by this majestic monument on the route to Gaussberg Park, I must admit that it was awe-inspiring. Only when I travel to the UK do I see monuments like this. According to what I was told, this palace was constructed sometime in the 18th century and underwent a number of renovations over its existence. I have heard that it once served as a residence for the Brunswick dukes in the 18th century. Wonderful to pass past this building.

I have to admit I didn’t make it all the way to the top. After being packed in the back of an open train car for an hour, I got off and took a train back down the mountain. The 96 euro cost for two adults is an insane price to pay for no seat assignment. The regional trains are very nice, affordable, not packed, and air conditioned. The nostalgia of steam isn’t worth the hassle.

A long overdue piece , I visited this absolutely beautiful cathedral in April, it was a cloudy morning and I was incidentally in time for Ms.Monika's famed church tour (it was around 11 am ) , and boy was i was amazed. She breathed and lived the cathedral's rich history, dark times and the subsequent restoration. Her impeccable attention to detail and careful explanation bought the cathedral to life. A proficient bi -lingual (German and English) , she did an outstanding job to weave the narrative of the journey of the cathedral from past to present. The tour itself is about an hour and free , the cathedral has stood the test of time and is a testament to faith, history and changing times of the surrounding regions. The architecture (gothic- renaissance) is a splendid remainder of the rich history and cultural heritage of the city itself. The staff and local agencies involved are doing a wonderful job of preserving this splendid piece of architecture, if Braunschweig is not on your radar, give it a try, gems like these won't dissapoint you.

Nice place for hiking

In Germany, one of the best place to trekking especially in winter. I have been to Harz twice. I witness both summer and winter. I like winter more than summer. That view , snow fall, trees, everything was amazing to see... Total 18 km trek. Take some juice , fruits and food. You will definitely need it. I would recommend you guys to go and enjoy the beautiful place. I liked it.

Beautiful nature park with easy mountain peaks, stunning views and scenery. Expect some gravel paths, a few bicycle paths and lots of elephant paths. Make sure to check out the highest peaks around and go for the boulders at the end to fully enjoy the highlights this area has to offer. You're able to fly your drone here as well. Few camp grounds around, so you're able to plan your multiple day hiking trip around those.

We stayed in Harz for a good few days with friends. The amount of beautiful trails, viewpoints, ... Is incredible. In every season stunning. I suggest winter and the peak of autumn. Wake up early and enjoy. Brocken is amazing at sunset! But dont forget to take the train back on time.

I come here for 50 years now and keep coming back. It is a mesmerising area that really calms you down. There is so much to see and do, from nature and culture to outdoor activities. For me the place to go if I need a break.

Although I never toured the inside of the palace. I thoughly enjoyed the architecture and green space surrounding the site. Some nice views of Goslar behind the palace. Great place to visit.

Very helpful staff that made my visit with a mobility scooter easy and very enjoyable! Informative audio guide saves reading all the info tablets and gives good background information on all the exhibits. Well worth a visit!

I really enjoyed it. We got the audio guides which helped explain a lot. I really liked all the imperial art and the explanations behind the depictions. I have never been very good at art history and the symbolism and all of that and the audio guide explanation was very helpful.

I took the train/ mine option and greatly enjoyed the ride and temperature change (it was hot outside). An amazing experience I would highly recommend! It's rare to get to walk in the shoes and take the same mine train the miners took back in the day, deep into the depths of this mine and UNESCO World Heritage site. The rest of the museum and exhibitions are also interesting but the mine rail tour is a must!

Very impressive! It was for me the first time to visit a mine like this, it feels you go back in time! The groups weren't that big, so you could see a lot of the mine. It was quite cold, so wear warm clothes. The train underground was an amazing experience!

Very deceiving for such an emblematic place. It is still a quite impressive place full of history which is nice to see. I expected more... First of all, there is no tour in English. For a UNESCO world heritage site, you will expect at least one tour in English. For the museum part, it is interesting but everything is disorganised and it is not appealing. Some parts are only in German. I hope one day, this place would be made more accessible for non-german speakers.

I recently visited the Rammelsberg Ore Mines with my husband and had an incredible experience. We took the guided tour in English, called the Röder Stollen, led by Mr. Christian Etzrodt. He was super friendly and humorous, making the entire journey interesting and engaging. I really appreciate him going out of the way to add fun to the tour. It was an amazing and adventurous experience, and I highly recommend his tour. The reception staff were also very friendly and helpful (she helped us choose the appropriate tour), as was the lovely lady at the shop. Overall, it was a fantastic visit! We really enjoyed the experience. Oh, yes! Make sure to wear appropriate clothing and shoes. You would need to walk a lot and climb steep steps. Would not recommend this tour to people with claustrophobia, nyctophobia, panic disorder, breathing issues, pregnancy, etc. It is colder and dark and might be a bit slippery. P.S. I personally give bonus points for the "Stimmungsring" at the shop, haha

Inevitably a very thought provoking experience. A very detailed museum with photos, video artefacts etc. Outside it was not fully clear where to go, take the free map. Nice to see Anne Frank's memorial, her story has moved me for over 50 years

Free to enter and walk around, the scale of the area is massive and you can easily spend 2-3 hours walking around. You don't truly understand the scale of the camp until you walk the grounds. Although none of the original building stand there are plenty of maps explaining certain areas dotted around the grounds. The POW cemetery is separate from the camp, roughly a 5 min walk and is now connected via a sand path that crosses the training area. All signs have an English translation and the exhibits in the museum also have English translations. There is a cafe and library on site, but I didn't visit.

Serengeti Park Hodenhagen absolutely exceeded our expectations! We had an amazing time exploring the self drive safari. It's incredibly well organized and gives you a rare chance to see exotic animals up close from the comfort of your own car. From giraffes walking past our windows to rhinos grazing nearby, the whole experience felt like a mini African adventure right in Germany. What impressed us the most was how smoothly everything ran. Entry was well coordinated, the drive-through routes were clearly marked, and there were friendly staff around to guide and assist if needed. The animals appeared healthy and well cared for, with plenty of space to roam. But the fun doesn’t stop there. The amusement park section was a fantastic surprise. There’s a great mix of rides and attractions for both kids and adults. The park is clean, spacious, and offers a lot of variety to fill the entire day. Overall, it’s 100% worth the visit, especially for families or anyone looking to do something unique over the weekend. We left with so many great memories and can’t wait to come back again. Highly recommend!

We went for the Halloween special and we really enjoyed it. It wasn't too busy, and not too scary. We were able to enjoy all the rides without a wait on most occasions. Unfortunately, both rollercoasters were not operating, I dont know if this is normal for the winter months. We stayed in a safari comfort lodge, which was clean and perfect for the three of us. It was quite small, but we were only in there to sleep. The accommodation is immediately next to the park and restaurant. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet which was included in our package. We didn't have time to experience the safari park this visit. We will definitely be returning next year.

An interesting park with a lot of different animals. My recommendation is to go through the park in your own car instead of the bus, as it is really safe and better for seeing the animals. Touring by car takes about 2–3 hours, after which you can visit the amusement park within the same area and spend another 3–4 hours having fun—rides, winning teddy bears by throwing into baskets, food available around. There is also a place where you can feed and pet goats, sheep, and llamas, which is truly wonderful for animal lovers. Overall, a very nice experience and recommended.

It is a really great place for a whole day family trip! The safari part is incredible, we were on our own car and haven't regretted it. You can see animals really close, they have plenty of space and look really healthy. And we loved the amusement park! Surprisingly there were almost no ques, we didn't have to wait more that 5 mins for a ride. Top place, highly recommend!

One of the best Safari park in northern Europe ! Very large, organised, clean and must visit. The rides are also a bonus and included, if you want to cover both I recommend to start early spend 09.30 to 12.30 at the safari, have lunch and spend rest of the day at the rides. The rides are for all age groups and parking facility is quite good, so can easily walk around. There is also an indoor play area for younger kids. Overall can easily spend a full day with family having fun and good memories !

We had booked the Tongasoa lodges. What they don't tell you is there is a hard deadline for check in. The reception closes at 7pm and they were available until 8pm for late check in. The keys and the room no. information are all provided only at the reception, if you come late, we aren't sure where you will need to spend the night. We were very lucky to have caught them just when they were locking up and they were kind enough to help us with our checkins after their work hours. Apart from that everything else was really nice. They rooms were nice and clean, the beds were comfortable and all amenities were functional. The breakfast the next day at Manyara restaurant was just fine. If you are a vegetarian, you will be able to get sandwich and cereals and for vegan probably just fruits and salad vegetables. Safari the next day was really fun, we went with our own cars. The animals were very close and approached the cars. I thought I read you shouldn't feed the animals, but some of the cars in front of us were feeding apples, bananas and carrots and nobody stopped them. The amusement park was also fun, it came with the safari tickets, we didn't need to pay extra.

I visited Dortmund Zoo on June 20, 2025, during the summer season, and it was a great experience overall. The zoo is conveniently located a short subway ride away from Dortmund’s main railway station, making it easy to reach. The entrance ticket cost €11, which I found quite reasonable for the size of the zoo and the variety it offers. The zoo is spread across a large area and features a wide range of animals from different regions around the world. It was fascinating to see so many species in well-maintained enclosures that reflect their natural habitats. There are several restaurants inside the zoo, offering a variety of food and drinks, so you won’t go hungry during your visit. I also noticed dedicated children’s play areas, which make it a great spot for families with kids. Overall, Dortmund Zoo is a relaxing and educational place to spend a few hours, especially if you enjoy being close to nature and wildlife. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

This zoo is very nice! For €7,50 per adult and free parking in October the price is really low. The majority of people says this zoo is small but I disagree and think this zoo is actually pretty large. A lot of well made habitats, however I do have to agree that some look like they could use a little attention. But this zoo is based on naturalism, so I think it’s fine. A lot of opportunities to see animals from up close and take good photos. Also some (very )special species, like the black jaguar, clouded leopard and red panda. If you want to you can spend the whole day here, there’s enough to watch. Most of the animals are very active, unlike in many other zoo’s where the majority of the animals are sleeping. The only negatives were the constructions, which made it impossible to see some animals. Also, the animal information in mainly only German and mostly cash only payments at food stands. But overall, especially for the price this park is very good! There were also very little people, al though we did visit on a Monday.

Enormous industrial complex that was changed into a free tourist zone. There are some events organized here, they were even getting ready for one, when I was there, so you would assume that's a perfect example of revitalization effort. Unfortunately that's not entirely true. Yes instead of a toxic plant there is a museum and a forest, however that is also all that's here. Some of the equipment was left under the sun on its own, getting rusty and overgrown, making it look quite sad. Most of the buildings are closed down and the guided tour shows just a fraction of them. There is also no possibility to go underground inside the coal mine, to explore its history. It is truly awe-inspiring to see how this former industrial behemoth has been masterfully repurposed into a vibrant cultural landscape, housing museums, exhibition centers, a university, and more. The vision required to preserve such a monumental piece of history while breathing new life into it is simply remarkable. ​The sprawling 100-hectare site has been ingeniously transformed into a verdant park, with fantastic cycling and walking paths weaving through the imposing structures. This unique blend of industrial heritage and natural beauty means you can have a wonderful visit just enjoying the park, even if history isn't your main interest. ​Zollverein truly offers a full day of exploration and enjoyment for the entire family. With delightful cafes, excellent restaurants, and even a casino on the grounds, it's impossible to feel a moment of boredom. ​I was unfortunately pressed for time and could only spend three hours there, which was barely enough to scratch the surface. I am already planning my next trip to fully immerse myself in everything this incredible place has to offer. ​A Special Tip: To truly grasp the immense scale of the complex, I wholeheartedly recommend exploring it by bike or taking one of the guided cart tours. It's an experience that is absolutely worth it!

Humongous place to see not only the story is the mines but the area, its people and work. Could easily spend there several hours and still not see everything. Pair with Red Dot design museum in the same complex!

Museum has 2 floors and the inside is all about the Krupp Family and how they grew their business, their effects on war, their products etc. There is a big garden where you can walk around and enjoy the clean air. The Villa is close to the Baldeneysee and the Hügel Station.

The views from the top are incredible. There is no fixed route and we just wandered around, but if you wanted an order to it, start from behind the gas tank and head for the bunkers, where you'll "find" the walkway which takes you along them, to the bottom of the visitable blast furnace. There isn't much signage, but actually that's one of the nice things about this place.
