Museums
Nestled in the historic maritime terminal at French Quay, the Emigration Museum Gdynia offers a captivating glimpse into Poland's rich emigration history. Opened in 2015, this museum is housed in a building that once served as a bustling departure point for countless Poles seeking new lives abroad during the interwar period.
Very nice museum/exhibition concentrating on immigration and emigration of Polish population during it's long history. It is mainly focused on the process of emigration to the US, following a family leaving Poland in search of new and better life in the USA. Highly educative and interesting. Many exhibits are interactive and focused on children. There is also a small playground. The entry fee is acceptable. I was very surprised by the quality of this museum and even more by how engaging it was for my 9 year old daughter. Highly recommended

Fascinating museum, very interactive and well-designed. I feel like I’ve learnt a lot about the history of migration movements and Poland in particular. Definitely worth visiting. One less star for lack of much needed coffee shop. We so needed a cold beverage after 2 hours of exploring.
Monika P — Google review
A fascinating museum covering the Polish diaspora, it's causes, the trips people took and where they ended up.
Tom ( — Google review
While the building looks a bit grey and boring the museum tells an interesting story in an inspiring way. The museum however require language skills (Polish or English) so our younger kid which does t master English as second language completely was a bit board. But for polish smaller kids there were puzzles along the way. The audio guide is a must.

Very nice place for knowing about polish history and ww 2. Luckily entry was free when we were there.
James P — Google review
This is a must visit for anyone with a Polish Heritage with ancestors that originally emigrated from Poland. You will learn why they left, how they left and what they faced when they arrived at their destination. They endured difficult conditions to give us, their offspring, a chance for a better life. This museum tells the whole story.
Stephen L — Google review
A great museum - takes you on a journey showing various aspects of emigration and immigration of Polish people throughout history, focusing on the 19th and 20th centuries, but not only; suitable for children - a lot games or tasks to be completed by the little ones; a viewing terrace overlooking the port, plus a relaxation zone with really comfy lying or sitting or swinging facilities.

We haven't time for visiting this beautiful museum. The building is very big and nice. There is a very nice and spectacular view nearby from dock

Aquarium
Nature & Parks
Nestled within the National Marine Fisheries Research Institute, the Gdynia Aquarium is a captivating destination for marine enthusiasts and families alike. Opened in 1971, this charming aquarium occupies a Modernist ferry terminal dating back to 1938 and showcases an impressive array of over 215 species, including fish, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates.
An amazing and wonderful place to visit with your family, perfect for all ages. Here, you can see a wide variety of fascinating sea creatures like colorful fish, crabs, lobsters, and even axolotls. The ticket prices are affordable and accessible, making it a great option for a family day out. There’s so much to explore and experience, from interactive exhibits to beautiful tanks filled with marine life. The staff are very polite and helpful, and we didn’t have to wait in any long lines, which made our visit even more enjoyable. Whether you’re a nature lover or just looking for a fun and educational outing, this place is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend!❤️

Very fun place to go. I love the idea with collecting stamps in every room. It's a small little souvenir that's free. Kids clearly loved it. But I snatched one for myself too. The tanks are big enough for the species, they're not cramped. The exhibitions were lovely. Highly recommend.
Magda — Google review
It’s an interesting place to visit, though a bit confusing to have it on so many floors, you need to go up and down all the time… some rooms are meant for educational purposes only and don’t have fish. You can expect many kids coming in groups, too.
Anya N — Google review
I recommend to visit! Maybe a little bit crowded but still interesting, also u can easily follow the map to not get lost (and when you done with room u take a stamp on your map, which is so cool! 🐠🐡🐟🐬🐙🦐🪼
Alina Y — Google review
Fantastic marine species exhibition, suitable for kids and adults. It's arranged over 4 floors (-1 to 3), due to quite complicated layout it's easy to miss some parts. I liked the most cold water species presentation on level -1. There are 2 lifts leading to different levels, unfortunately although this attraction is supposed to be fully accessible, one lift was out of order preventing access to level 3 today. There is accessible toilet and baby and parent room on level 0. There are discounts for kids, students, seniors, families, and disabled visitors with their carers.
Agn K — Google review
Fun place for a rainy day! Tanks look a little small but I trust the people taking care of the animals. The coral reef rooms and the blind fishes are definitely worth the trip!
Andrea G — Google review
The Gdynia Aquarium was a delightful stop for our family trip, offering a perfect blend of education and fun for a family of four. The family ticket option (2+2) was a great value, making it budget-friendly and hassle-free to enter. Our kids were thrilled with the interactive stations where they could collect stamps, which added a playful and engaging element to the visit. The aquarium itself is well-designed, with vibrant displays of marine life, from colorful reef fish to fascinating creatures like marble sharks and the beloved crocodile Zuzia. The educational exhibits, especially those highlighting the Baltic Sea and marine conservation, were informative without feeling overwhelming, sparking curiosity in both kids and adults. While it’s not the largest aquarium, its intimate setting and focus on local marine ecosystems made it a unique experience. The only downside was the crowded summer vibe and limited parking, but the stamp-collecting fun and the well-maintained exhibits made it a memorable outing. Highly recommend for families visiting Gdynia!
TPS — Google review
A very nice place to visit with your kids on a rainy day. Well accessible and overall great. Nice fishes and a lot of info. The only thing I didn't like was that some of the rooms were really stuffy - poor ventilation - and I nearly fainted. Update after 9 months - more empty tanks with "be right back" info on it visible. No souvenir shop anymore.

Maritime museum
Museums
ORP Błyskawica is a historic Grom-class destroyer that served in the Polish Navy during World War II and is now preserved as a museum ship. Commissioned in 1937, it holds the distinction of being the oldest surviving destroyer-class ship globally. The vessel played a crucial role in various wartime operations, including its involvement in rescuing British forces at Dunkirk.
Very cool experience. At first you walk through museum like space but then you get a chance to see the real "insides" of the ship and can experience what it was like for the crew to move around in such a tight space full of machinery.
Victoria S — Google review
Nice warship but unfortunately, no entrance for some reason. I was there around 15:00 o Monday. Regardless, very nice historical battleship.
Buster I — Google review
Great for history buffs, families, and anyone interested in maritime technology. The setting along the waterfront makes it even more enjoyable. A powerful reminder of Poland’s role in naval warfare and a proud symbol of its resilience.
JS 7 — Google review
A Functional Historical Data Point A necessary stop for anyone documenting naval history. The vessel itself is a well-preserved artifact, performing its duty as a static monument to a past era. The 4/5 rating reflects its intrinsic historical value. However, the operational model of the museum is suboptimal. The absence of interactive exhibits or simulations results in a purely passive observational experience. The system could be far more efficient at knowledge transfer if it were not limited to viewing static placards. A logical project for optimization is clearly needed.
Bartosz J — Google review
Awesome museum, reasonably short, took less than an hour to go through it, but is responsibly priced, had an awesome time there as someone who's interested in military history. Very educational too, learnt more about the history of this beautiful vessel and it's sisters.
Lukasz S — Google review
Owsome ship to visit. Loads of things to see. Sadly many parts of the ship including captains bride are closed to visitors, but still worth paying to come on board. Recomend buying combined ticked Blyskawica + Navy mueum.
Valdas M — Google review
Wonderful Destroyer with an interesting story behind it. It was commissioned in 1935 to be built in the UK and entered service before WW2 based in Gdynia. It managed to flee with other Polish ships to the UK in 1939 before the Germans invaded Poland and then acieved distinguished service alongside the British Navy particularly in the Norwegian area. It returned to be based Poland in 1947. The ship is so complete you feel it could almost set sail tomorrow. You start your tour in the Museum section of the ship which gives you it's history before going into the bowels of the Destroyer and seeing the Engine Room/Boiler Room etc. Finally finish with exploring the deck. Thoroughly recommend, easily spend an hour here.
Miles M — Google review
Different kind of ship museum which is just not about historical artifacts. Museum has artifacts which talks about historical significance of ship but what makes it special is they allow us to go down inside and see the engine and all other nuances of war ship. Atleast I never had such opportunity before. It's definitely worth visiting. It would take around 20-30 mins to see everything.

Kościuszko Square, located in Gdynia, is a popular tourist destination known for its unique architecture and vibrant atmosphere. The square is lined with tenements featuring murals of notable past residents and is surrounded by shops, cafes, and monuments near the port. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely walk along the seaside promenade, where they can admire monumental ships mooring by the coast.
Nice square to commemorate the legacy of Kosciuszko. Those who are not familiar with him, here is his history: Andrzej Tadeusz Bonawentura Kościuszko[note 1] (English: Andrew Thaddeus Bonaventure Kosciuszko;[note 2] 4 or 12 February 1746 – 15 October 1817) was a Polish military engineer, statesman, and military leader who then became a national hero in Poland, the United States, Lithuania, and Belarus.[3][4][5][6][7] He fought in the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth's struggles against Russia and Prussia, and on the U.S. side in the American Revolutionary War. As Supreme Commander of the Polish National Armed Forces, he led the 1794 Kościuszko Uprising. On learning of the American Revolution, Kościuszko, a man of revolutionary aspirations, sympathetic to the American cause and an advocate of human rights, sailed for the Americas in June 1776 along with other foreign officers, likely with the help of a French supporter of the American revolutionaries, Pierre Beaumarchais.[14][30] After finally arriving in Philadelphia (after a Caribbean shipwreck) he sought out Benjamin Franklin at his print shop; offering to take engineering subject exams (in lieu of any letters of recommendation), he received a high mark on a geometry exam and Franklin's recommendation.[36] On 30 August 1776, Kościuszko submitted an application to the Second Continental Congress at the Pennsylvania State House, and was assigned to the Continental Army the next day.

Very interesting artwork in the middle if a walkway between the bus stops and the quays. On a good sunny sky, the light reflecting is very atmospheric and inspiring Unfortunately, as seems common these days, people do not clear up after their dogs leaving smelly surprise packages around the walking areas

There used to be a huge parking lot, where you could drive and look at the sea/Dar Pomorza. Now the parking lot is gone, and therefore it's not so attractive anymore. It's still lovely to take the stroll down the Kosciuszko Square. It often gets pretty windy at the end of the Square.

Nestled along the picturesque waterfront of Gdynia, Poland, the Museum Ship "Dar Pomorza" is a captivating piece of maritime history that beckons visitors to explore its storied past. Launched in 1909 from Hamburg's Blohm & Voss shipyard, this fully-rigged sailing vessel originally served as a German training ship before embarking on an impressive journey across Europe.
This ship had an exciting past as a Cadet Training Ship. It started service in 1930 and would do a European trip and a longer West Indies trip each year. In 1934 it sailed around the World covering 38746 miles, what an experience that must have been for those fortunate enough to gain a place on that trip. It was also invloved in bicentennial celebrations in USA in 1976. In 1939 she sailed to Sweden and was protected in Stockholm till after the War. Her last voyage was in 1981, she was replaced as the cost of refit would have been almost the same as a new ship. Now she remains a Museum ship. The Museum gives you all of it's history, you can then tour the engine room, living quarters and finally the deck. Well worth the visit.

Dar Pomorza is definitely a museum ship worth visiting. Important to consider that there are narrow steps to be climbed down and up.

Very nice ship, plus interesting exhibition about animals on ships, shame that that this part was only in Polish language. Otherwise great experience.

One of the highlights of a visit to Gdynia. Ex training vessel with lots of history. Very interesting inside and out. Not all parts of boat will be accessible to all so I would recommend checking with staff.
David H — Google review
Very well preserved and interesting exhibition of a ship that was used for training Polish naval officers for several decades. Very friendly and helpful guides who also speak English. Recommended for everybody interested in history, ships, showing their kids how life was before and in general expanding their horizons. The display of knots on the lower deck fits perfectly with the large amounts of rope and the smell of tar and salty seas.
Vegard F — Google review
Very historical and adventures boat. Many stories on the board 👍
Štefan B — Google review
It's an interesting place, shame most of the captions are only in Polish though.
Daniel V — Google review
Fascinating museum about the history of the ship and lots of opportunities to explore the ship and experience how older ships operated. It's not huge, we took our time and talked about a lot of things and finished in about 30/40 minutes. There is a very tiny gift shop that sells things like magnets, bookmarks, postcards etc. A very nice and interesting little museum and a beautiful ship.

Nestled in the historic Abrahams House, which dates back to 1900, Oberża 86 offers a delightful culinary experience that beautifully marries Kashubian flavors with French cooking techniques. This relaxed eatery specializes in local Polish staples, featuring an enticing menu of fish, meat dishes, and delectable desserts paired with a thoughtful selection of wines. Guests have praised the upscale yet authentic presentation of the food and the attentive service provided by friendly staff.
Walked passed this place completely by accident. Michelin recommended. Lovely atmosphere. Went for the pork knuckle and mushroom pastry starter. The service was superb and the flavours and pairing of the wine worked very well. Glad we got to experience it.

This restaurant sticks out as it is a house in the middle of the city. The comfortable and stylish decor instantly makes you feel at ease. It is minimal chic at her best. The menu was limited yet interesting. I loved my guinea fowl dish with the roasted potatoes. We ordered a delicious bottle of red wine. It was a lovely memorable lunch.

A hidden gem in the heart of Gdynia. I've lived on this street for about 3 years and just had a chance to try their menu. I wish I've done it sooner! 5 out of 5. We'll be back to try the rest of the items.

It is an enjoyable experience but lacking the atmosphere of a 5 star restaurant. On visiting our grandmother, we decided to treat her to a nice evening meal out. I'm not sure if we picked a quiet day or if the restaurant is always this way, but there were more staff than guests. The food and wine were delicious, but maybe some ambient music would of help.

Went with my wife for a special birthday dinner. Recommended by our hotel we were the only diners !! But our young lady waitress Hannah was superb our meal was excellent but after our main course desert was slightly rushed as we were informed that the kitchen closed at 10 pm having had desert at just after 10 pm we asked for a coffee to be informed that the coffee machine was now switched off !!! No alternative was offered A very very disappointing end to what otherwise should have been a lovely evening. Wouldn’t recommend unless you want to dine early!!

Pierogarnia Mandu is a must-visit restaurant in Gdansk, known for its delicious and traditional Polish dumplings. Conveniently located in the city center, it offers a variety of pierogi, including traditional minced beef ones and some creative experimental options. The cozy and modern ambiance adds to the dining experience. Visitors also praise the friendly service and recommend trying the sauerkraut and refreshing raspberry lemonade.
I love these pierogi - they’re really tasty. I first went to Mandu in 2023 in Gdánsk and came back in 2025 in Gdynia, and it’s still just as amazing.

This is a very good dimpling eatery in the downtown area of Gdynia. The restaurant is quite popular and is usually busy and it is a good idea to book a table in advance. The food is delicious, and the service is prompt and professional.

In my opinion, the best pierogi place in city. Love this place and excellent service. Great choice of different types of dumplings while Im.not the big fun, in here I enjoyed every single bite. Fantastic drinks, tap beer and food. Well deserved 5 stars !!!
RK L — Google review
This was not my first nor will it be my last visit. I try to visit Poland once a year and have visited this place at least once durning my times in Poland (about three times prior to this fourth visit). The pierogi here are delicious and the service has always been great even though I barely speak Polish. This time it was a bit different. I arrived with my friend on a Wednesday evening and it was quite busy, but that’s no problem. The wait time was made aware to us before ordering which was fine with us. We had pierogi with white cottage cheese, potato, onion and bacon, and decided to try one new oven baked pierogi. There were only two to three tiny bits of bacon with a mountain of onions. While I do enjoy onions more than bacon, my friends absolutely hates onions and prefers bacon. They were also extremely salty in my opinion. The filling of our tradition pierogi was not up to par with past experiences as it was not well combined and contained larger chunks of potato and onions than normal, so I chalked it up to the cooks rushing due to it being busy and late. They ran out of thousand island dressing which was no issue as their ranch is delicious. The lemonade is also very delicious, not too sweet and not too sour. The server was sweet and the woman who sat us was amazing as well, when she realized I spoke English she was not afraid to speak in English which felt really good. I will definitely be back as I believe one bad experience should not taint overall experiences.
Kendall T — Google review
Long time waiting on the street in the queue. Then waiting time was about 25 minutes, but the food was nice. It's a pity that you can not choose different types within one order - you have to order 10 pieces and they are all the same. Atmosphere is noisy and crowded, nothing special.
Andrea K — Google review
We ordered a variety of pierogi / dumplings and all of them were very tasty. Lemonade was delicious too. Our waitress was very attentive, making sure we get everything we need.
Egle — Google review
The food is delicious, but every time they say that the vareniki will take 20-25 minutes and would we like to have a salad or soup while we wait. In the end, the salad or soup is brought in 10 minutes along with the main meal. An ugly trick. We got caught once.

Restaurant
Czerwony Piec is a popular and unassuming pizzeria in Gdynia, known for its delicious pizzas baked in a wood-fired oven. The eatery offers a variety of options including paninis, hummus, salads, and beer. Customers appreciate the generous portions and quick service, as well as the traditional and unique toppings available. While some mention that the toilet could be cleaner, others praise the friendly staff who speak good English.

When it comes to pizza you can't fool me. They use authentic wood fired pizza oven. What you get? Light, crusty and truly delicious pizza with great quality ingredients. Grab yourself a beer from 'Ale Browar' and you're set. Adrianna big thank you for taking care of us. Perfect service :) 'Czerwony Piec' I'm hooked!

Despite what the menu tempts you to, the only good thing I had today here was the beer. And this and ONLY this gets the three stars! Cloudy, wheat beer! Looked good, tasted REALLY good! But that was the end of the good times in this place. The starter was supposed to be a "cheese platter" with interesting honey. Yes, the honey WAS very nice, but the cheese was all bland and tasteless! In fact, without the honey it world have been pretty hopeless. Onto the main course of pizza. I chose something different - goat's cheese, rocket, tomatoes. But it too had almost no taste except for the bits where the tomato was. And it was burnt in places! And also, for some reason it came on a wooden board with paper under the pizza. Why? What was the point of that? It just meant that when I was cutting pizza, i was also cutting paper... and probably EATING paper too! But I don't think I'd have noticed any difference between paper and pizza anyway! And all this for a ridiculous 76 złoty! Honestly, that was the second and absolutely LAST TIME I will ever eat at any Gdynia restaurant every again!

Pueblo is a Mexican restaurant known for its expertly prepared steaks, delicious desserts, and friendly service. Despite the small size of the restaurant, it can get crowded at times. Customers praise the amazing steaks, cocktails, ribs, and well-spiced dishes.
Amazing restaurant! Delicious Mexican food, fantastic atmosphere, and great vibes. We will definitely come back whenever we’re in Trójmiasto. <3 Hopefully, one day you’ll open a place in Poznań too:)

The food used to be much nicer, now it just tastes like every other mediocre Mexican restaurant. I have given it 3* as the portion sizes are quite big ( but if the food is not particularly good ..would you want a big portion 🫣) 4 for atmosphere as it is decorated very nicely. Service is a bit slow and you have to actively look for a staff member for anything or even go up to the till ... But i guess they were very busy.
