Park
Peterhof, also known as Paleizencomplex in Peterhof, is a seafront museum complex located in a former royal palace surrounded by parkland. It is renowned for its numerous fountains and is a top destination for various activities such as water sports, boat rides, kiteboarding, and exploring gardens. The palace itself offers an intriguing glimpse into the lives of ancient inhabitants through its royal rooms and exclusive chandeliers.
This amazing Park and Palace is an expression of Russian Imperial splendor. It was built by Peter the Great as his summer palace. The site is listed as UNESCO World Heritage. As you cross the parking area there is a good handicrafts market, which actually is very good and you must go through while returning from the garden. I visited in early spring, Lush gardens are mesmerizing, with extravagant palace buildings, beautiful golden statues and a cascade of fountains. Vibrant flowers were everywhere in proper layout. At 1 PM, there is some musical show at the backdrop of the palace in front of the golden statues with fireworks and some performance. I visited the place on Saturday; I am not sure the show is daily or only on weekends. We were not able to catch the show as we were not aware of it earlier. We were at the farther end of the park at that time and we reached at the spot when the show was coming to an end, however I witnessed some closing fireworks. This is a must go venue, don’t miss it while visiting St Petersburg.

Not too expensive and it's really really good, so many fountains. So many views. So much green. But during peak times it can get crowded. And so many people taking photos. The big museum is for additional fee, but even the garden is difficult to visit all in one day.
Ondra V — Google review
Great but a bit smaller than expected. Takes around 15 mins to walk the entire complex on your own, 45 if part of a tour. Summer season still on as of writing, so separate tickets for the garden, then the palace complex for 3,200 RUB total. You need the garden ticket to enter the compound, turn left, then enter the palace building. No line at ticket counters on a weekday 2 PM. Practically empty. Just 3-4 tour groups and they move fast.
Dung Q — Google review
This place is a must see, we had a great time and the weather was amazing. Prepare for long walk all around the park and lots of fountains perfect for the kids.
David K — Google review
expensive because you will need 2 ticket just to go inside and for museum separately as well, long walks and expensive water bottles and food. Must say amazing architecture
Ankita M — Google review
Opulence turned into landscape. The palace feels like it was built just to prove what human hands can do when given no limits. Golden statues everywhere, fountains that move with impossible precision, and that long axis leading straight to the sea, pure theater. Inside, it’s mirrors, chandeliers, and silence heavy with history. Outside, it’s joy and spectacle. You walk away a little dazzled, a little jealous, and completely convinced that beauty can be engineered.
Axel — Google review
Fable-like palace displaying the power and richness of the czars. The lavish interiors and the gigantic gardens with their water-plays are a testament to an era of nearly infinite wealth (for them of course not for the country). Impressive

We were on a cruise thru the Baltic Sea and one of the main stops was in St Petersburg. We had most of the day and had a great all day tour organized by the ship. One of the highlights was the Peterhof Palace and gardens. We had tickets in hand arranged by the cruise tour group. The palace was very nice but the gardens were spectacular. Just amazing and so perfectly maintained.

The Grand Cascade is a stunning ensemble of fountains located in the Peterhof estate, known for its opulent architecture and golden statues. Originally expanded by Empress Elizabeth, the park and fountains, including the magnificent Grand Cascade, continued to be improved throughout the 18th and 19th centuries. The main attractions within the well-thought-out Peterhof ensemble include the Grand Palace, Upper Gardens, Lower Gardens, and the Baroque-style Sea Channel.
It's in front of Petrrhof palace, overlooking Gulf of Finland, one can take a walk up to Gulf by 15 minutes. These fountains are not open through out the year. It closes in Mid October for winter time. So before heading pls check if it's open. There are more than 50 fountains,we were informed.the garden around it is so huge,it takes nearly two hours to completely visit.
RAMPRASAD S — Google review
The Grand Cascade is the most remarkable feature in a stunning garden full of water displays. Its gravity-based mechanism (still the original one, if I correctly recall) provides a spectacular water-jets show at fixed hours (11 am in the morning back in 2018). Magnificent during a sunny day !
Tony B — Google review
Grand Cascade at PeterHof. Site was selected as it allowed the water to drain from the higher hill slopes to the fountains and then to the Gulf of Finland. Looks good in summer and it must be pretty cold and frozen over in winter. The buildings, paths and fountains around this Grand Cascade are all arranged symmetrically.

The Samson Fountain is a central attraction within the Peterhof ensemble, which also includes the Grand Palace, Upper Gardens, Lower Gardens, and the Grand Cascade of fountains. This Baroque-style fountain is located in the Sea Channel, also known as the Channel of Samson. The fountain features a sculptural group called 'Samson tearing the Lion's Mouth,' commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Battle of Poltava.
Truly beautiful centerpiece cascade of fountains. With water splashing around especially on the sunny day. The gold from the fountain is shining on the sun. Beautiful view from the top all the way. Something that can not be missed and is always full of people. Recommend to explore from each side as it is always a different angle and view. Possible to catch the rainbow on the sun in your pictures. Worth to just stare at it and enjoy. Truly a masterpiece 👌
Anamarija Č — Google review
Stunning and certainly better than my bird bath fountain at home. It is also known as "Samson Tearing the Lion's Jaws and clearly is the centerpiece of the Grand Cascade at Peterhof Palace. It was originally designed by Bartolomeo Rastrelli and installed in 1735. It symbolizes Russia's victory over Sweden in the Great Northern War, with Samson representing Russia and the lion representing Sweden. Interestingly the fountain features a powerful jet of water that reaches up to 21 meters high

It's definitely the most beautiful fountain of the whole park. Don't miss the moment when everybody's here to see the launch of them. The crowd is more interesting than what is really happening. Then choose a way to walk around the park and come back here when the crowd is completely gone.

Museum
Nestled beside the picturesque Peterhof pier, the Imperial Yachts Museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the maritime history of Russia's imperial family. This unique museum chronicles the evolution of royal yachts from Peter the Great's era through to their post-revolutionary destinies, including their surprising use as missile testing targets. Visitors can admire an array of miniature replicas and photographs that showcase these majestic vessels. The museum also highlights a lesser-known aspect of St.
At last view of Baltic sea half a mile from Petrehov Palace (built by Tsar Petre the great). Petrehov was the summer residence of Russian monarches. We could see 2 Russian warships in the near vicinity. Russian navy's Baltic fleet headquarters is located in Kalingrad, a Russian exclave beyond the Baltic states (Lithuania, Lativia, Estonia) . A main branch of Baltic fleet command center is located in Saint Petersburg also.

Monument
The Monument to Peter the Great, also known as the Bronze Horseman, stands as a testament to Russia's rich history and cultural evolution. Inspired by the grandeur of Versailles, Peter the Great envisioned an imperial palace in his new city, leading to the creation of Peterhof—meaning "Peter's Court." This estate flourished under Empress Elizabeth, who expanded its Grand Palace and park while enhancing its famous fountains like the Grand Cascade.

Great hotel right across the street from the renovated Summer Palace. Good restaurant and the desk people speak English.

Restaurant, Duck and Drake has rip-off culture. I asked if I could change the type of potatoes with my meal from fried potato wheels to small amount of French fries. I was told that I would have to pay the price on the menu for the fries as a side dish. The beer comes as 0.5 litre, but only 7/8th full, profit of 100% on every 7 or 8th glass (not bad). One meal states you may order a side dish with it, but you are then charged for the side dish. As a foreign guest, I felt that I was getting special treatment, but not the nice one, whether they just don't like the British or it's more general. I ordered items on a number of occasions before local people, but received them after the local people. The room had tea making facility, but the hotel would provide creamer or instant coffee sachets. I could only use the swimming pool while I was out during the day working, not in the evening when I was in the hotel,.

(Translated by Google) The main thing is to get there by taxi if you left the park on Avrova Street! Having looked at the map and the beautiful houses around, we decided that we would walk, but we did not notice that the path lies along a neuropsychiatric boarding school, through two forests and along houses with big loud dogs... Do not trust the maps, it is better to take a taxi, the place is worth it. The interior has a soul, there is no feeling of chain city restaurants, it is clean and cozy, the staff is friendly. We ordered fish on a spinach bed, eggplant salad and delicious tea with fruits. The fish is tender, the spinach is delicious. The salad was fresh, there was too much sauce for me (balsamic, probably), I do not often eat spicy food, but my friend liked it, and she is picky. The Aromatic tea was 😍💜🌸 I liked everything very much. I took some cocoa for the road, we made it)) We want to continue exploring the parks of Peterhof and the Home cafe menu 😊 thank you ❤️ (Original)

Restaurant
Shtandart is a restaurant located near the Peterhof gardens, offering an ala carte buffet option that provides a delicious light meal before sightseeing. The borscht soup, herbed potatoes, and mixed vegetables were particularly enjoyable. The outdoor seating in the forested area near the seaside adds to the relaxing atmosphere. Despite being the only restaurant in a touristy spot, it pleasantly surprised visitors with its good service and great quality food at slightly overpriced but reasonable rates.
We had 0 expectations for this place (I mean what can one expect from the only restaurant in the touristic spot?) and were very pleasantly surprised- the service was very good and the food was of a great quality. Obviously slightly overpriced but yet not stupidly expensive, with great variety and good quality. Definitely a good option when you are around.
Roman K — Google review
Lovely staff and great food. Yes the price is high but that is to be expected within the area of Peterhof.
TxicoTxeco — Google review
The idea of a buffet is great and I was totally grateful to finally eat after a whole day walking around the park, but somehow the quality of the food doesn't swipe off your feet... The fish was amazing but the French fries were a bit soggy and pickles didn't really taste like pickles. I guess some problems can be ascribed to the very idea of a buffet and food just lying around all day. But the dessert was nice :) My biggest complaint is about the price. You can get a nice buffet food in Marketplace in the centre for much less money.
Kasia — Google review
We had a good experience with the ala carte buffet option here before our tour of the Peterhof gardens. My borscht soup and attendant sides of herbed potatoes and mixed vegetables were all delicious and it was a good option for a light meal prior to our sightseeing. We also appreciated the relaxing outdoor seating options in this thickly forested area near the seaside. I wouldn’t mind going back for another bowl of that borscht. Keep an eye out for the pigeons that waddle around. They tend to think you should treat them to your meal. Anyhow, stop by here if you need a quick bite. I thought it worth it.
Nate L — Google review
Amazing food! We had a very nice Russian waiter (very bilingual, which was also impressing) who took time to explain the menu and the specialties of each dish, where it came from etc. We tried different meat dishes and I was very surprised, they were just delicious! Perhaps not the place to eat on budget but food there is worth every rubla. Although we went there on high season I do think they could improve some on the waiting time.
Kristiine V — Google review
The worst experience so far in St. Petersburg! The restaurant is overpriced for the type food and service that you are getting. You are better off buying something from a street vender. It took 50 min to get our order from the time we ordered it. When it finally came out everything was cold and subpar quality. When I told them that I don’t have time to drink my tea because it took too long to bring it out and we had to make it to our tour around the park, the server took the tea back but didn’t take it out of the final check! I’ve never seen that kind of service anywhere. Also, 10% tip was automatically included because we had 6 people at the table. Steer clear of that place unless you want food that taste horrible and is cold when it’s served for premium prices

I have no idea why this isn't the highest rated restaurant in all of Saint Peteesburg area. I should review more often, and especially for exceptional experiences. That being said this place demanded a review, absolutely the besr meal of my life. The service the quality the atmosphere nothing is missing.

Such a surprise after seeing the bad ratings on Google! I have had a Borscht soup and a very delicious Chicken ("Chicken of tobacco"), which was very tender inside, crispy and flavourful on the outside, with rosmary potatoes and Salsa. The service was fast and well-organized. Definitely recommended!

I came here around one year ago and it was a good restaurant and good sitting arrangements but now it turns over a fast food shop and the price is very very high then normal. I have been here before and I rated it 5 stars then. A year later, I came back with so much excitement but was let down in every sense. The entire restaurant has changed, it's a self service restaurant now. The variety is no longer there and prices are through the roof.
