Domaine de Beaurenard is a small and beautiful wine house located in the village, offering amazing white and red wines, including their Old Vines varieties. Visitors can enjoy a wonderful experience by exploring the cellars and tasting the exceptional products. The winery takes pride in sharing insights about their winemaking process, including using the moon's influence and displaying samples of different grapes.
We visited Domaine de Beaurenard on Friday of last week and the hospitality from Sylvie was impeccable. She was informative and welcoming and we could not have asked for anything more. While we were there we also got a chance to meet some of the family members that own the winery because they are always there which says a lot about the quality and care they put into their wine. I will forever recommend this wine and this winery as it is easy to put your word behind people who truly care! Thank you, Sylvie!

We had a wonderful experience! The staff were super friendly and accommodating, while also providing a knowledgeable wine tasting. 10/10 would recommend!

We were visiting Châteauneuf-du-Pape on the Veraison this year for one night, and had very limited time before wineries would close. I wanted to make sure I visit a place with traditions, character and soul. And Domaine de Beaurenard did not disappoint! From the moment we stepped in and were warmly greeted by Sylvie (who had helped to reserve wine tasting via email a few weeks before), we could see history, passion, culture of winemaking. Sylvie offered us to have a look around and into the aging room, and afterwards had a lovely chat during tasting. It was almost closing time on a big festival day, but she never looked tired or in a rush. Wines were beautiful (thank you for the special one!), I wish I could buy more to fly them home. History of the domaine is impressive and full of passion. The only thing I regret is that we could not get to the village early enough to join the guided tour. Thank you, Sylvie (and special thanks from the kids for the juice ;)). I have a place to visit when I am in Châteauneuf-du-Pape next time!

Very personal, nice wine tasting and great wine, we have learned a lot also about wine production. 13 different grapes in one glas.

We had our best wine tasting experience of Chateauneuf du Pape at Domaine de Beaurenaed! Thanks to Elodie and Sylvie! A free but very immersive experience with physical grapes display of the 13 types of grape of the appellation, to the visit of the aging room, to the immersive tasting.

I had a truly wonderful experience at Domaine de Beaurenard. The estate itself is beautiful and full of history, and the wines are exceptional, showcasing the richness and elegance of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. A special thank you to Sylvie, who guided our tasting. She was incredibly knowledgeable, welcoming, and passionate about the wines and the domaine’s philosophy. She took the time to explain not just the wines, but also the history, terroir, and biodynamic approach, which made the experience both educational and memorable. I left with a deeper appreciation of the wines and the estate, and I would highly recommend a visit to anyone traveling in the region. Thank you to Sylvie and the Domaine de Beaurenard team for such a warm and unforgettable experience!

Silve is excellent at sharing the uniqueness of this beautiful winery. Domaine De Beaurenard is a one of a kind winery. I highly recommend thw 2016 Red

Beautiful Chateau of the 8th generation family run winery. You can do tours of the winery and tastings. Beaurenard has a very good quality selection of wines to try and buy from here. This is next to the museum which also gets busy, so try and go earlyish otherwise tastings may also be busy which is not as ideal.

Castle
Sights & Landmarks
The Castle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, meaning "Castle of the New Pope," was once a summer residence for Popes Clement V and John XXII. Although much of the castle has been destroyed over time, it remains an impressive sight with its historical significance. Visitors can explore what used to be the wine store and admire panoramic views of the village and Rhone Valley from the old windows.
WALK up to the top and check it out. It is what's left of the Popes' summer residence from hundreds of years ago. Gorgeous view. There's a restaurant, wine cave and ice cream spot on the way up (and down) too. No tickets. No tour. Parking at top. Just walk around, take pics and enjoy the view. Easy.

Lovely stop near the end of the day. Excellent views all around the area. Easy walk into town and a wine bar before 7:00 up on top or fabulous restaurant after 7:00. Well worth the stop

Interesting to see. Good views over the countryside towards Mont Ventoux. Not worth going out of your way to see the chateau but if staying close of visiting for wine then pop up the hill.

The ruins of an old castle are so beautiful and shining there alone. The view is so beautiful from there. Beautiful sunset, and the reflection of the loght on the castle is amazing.

The Castle of Chateauneuf-de-Pape is a great historical monument related to the village and Avignon. It’s also offering a nice view above the wineries, the Rhone river and Avignon.

Château La Nerthe is a historic winery in Chateauneuf-du-Pape, with roots dating back to 1570 and a winery established in 1736. Under new ownership in 1986, the estate saw significant improvements in quality and expanded its vineyard holdings to become one of the largest in the region, with 550 acres organically farmed since 1998.
Had a super informative and delicious tasting in English with Alexi! The wines were superb and we went home with a few bottles each. We especially loved that they have more affordable bottles (18e) as well as a more expensive reserve line- all were super good quality and delicious.
Anna Y — Google review
Did a quick wine tasting here. We didn't have an appointment so we didnt get the tour, they just gave us a quick tasting in a room near the reception. The wines were lovely, and the lady gave a decent description in history. All in all it was about 10-15 minutes including time when we had our own conversation during the tasting. The space is gorgeous and has a lovely view of the region.

We had a nice tour starting from the Château and the fields; it’s incredibly beautiful when the morning light hits. The fermenting room and aging room also keep traces of history. The wines are beautiful, and the tasting experience is delicate.
Chenchu Z — Google review
Very welcoming wine tasting, with interesting story telling. You can also walk freely and profit from à beautiful landscape.
Daniel L — Google review
Overall not impressed with wine or experience, we waited 45 mins. And not worth the wait. The lady locked the door during other tasting and no one gave us any update on how much longer as others were waiting outside, when the door was opened no one said anything, when we went in it was short and unwelcoming. We came from Chateau de la Gardine and it was spectacular, tour and wine!
Sarah Z — Google review
The winery is beautiful, but the wines were nothing special. Coming from a country where the wine is excellent, none of them particularly impressed me. I’m not a professional, just a casual wine lover, but still, none of the wines stood out. We didn’t have a reserved tour, we just came for a quick tasting at the small bar by the reception, and in about 10 minutes we tried four wines. It wasn’t anything spectacular, even though the place is very popular. On the other hand, it was lovely to take photos in front of the winery, as the entrance is truly stunning.

Alexis was a very knowledgeable, warm and smiley host during our impromptu visit to Chateau La Nerthe. He shared many good wine vintages with us, both red and white, and also taught us a thing or two. Chateau La Nerthe itself was a majestic Provençal winery with a beautiful view

Gorgeous place. An absolute must visit in Châteauneuf-du-Pape if what you want is not just wine tasting, but immerse into the history, passion, spirit and traditions of the winemaking in the region. You will want to spend hours here, wandering around the estate, the cellars. We visited on the Veraison day (and you guys were right - good luck with parking in the village :-D) and were worrying, because we had the guided tour appointment and were running late due to heavy traffic. But as we rushed in, we realized we should not. This is Province, so chill! The tour was amazing - book the one with premium tasting in the 16-century cellar, you will not regret it. Alexis is the best tour guide you can get, so lucky you if you join him! Passionate, full of knowledge and humor, and will make your day, believe me. Wines are absolutely beautiful and very reasonably priced (the ones open for sale I mean ;)).

Château Fortia Sarl has a rich history dating back to the aftermath of World War I when Baron Le Roy, a fighter pilot, returned to find his wife's family winery facing wine provenance issues. This led him to work on a proposal for a French wine appellation system that was eventually adopted into law in 1936. Visitors can explore the village and nearby attractions such as Domaine Bois de Boursan and Chocolaterie Castelain.
Tatiana provided a great tour and tasting. We tasted some straight out of the drum! This winery has a very unique way of storing their wines. They stack almost 9,000 wines in bays in the lowest level of the cave. The best part is 2 of their wines can be bought in the US! The Reserve and Secrets can only be bought here so those are coming home! I look forward to coming back again!

SUPERB! There are so many wineries in CdP, where do you start?! Start here! You will be well equipped for other tastings (anywhere you go), and if you can only do one, then you will have chosen well. The scenery is enchanting, both the castle and the vineyards. Eva was an excellent guide. She was not only very knowledgeable, she was also genuine and welcomed questions. She also had great stories that made the experience even more special. My husband and I did the 2 hour tasting where you learn not only about the wine but also how to describe what you are seeing, smelling and tasting. The tour of the cellar was interesting too. Although cellars have much in common, they're still unique with their own history and winemaker methods. It was, without a doubt, one of the best experiences we've had at any wine tasting. The time flew by. 20 Euros pp well spent. Be sure to confirm a reservation if you make one too.

What a beautiful and wonderful experience! The tour was informative and comprehensive. The wines we tasted were outstanding. We purchased some wine to go.

Beautiful vineyard and chateau with a very warm welcome. We pre-booked a tour of the cellars and a tasting which was fantastic. Tattiana was a patient, knowledgeable and passionate guide who indulged all of our questions, even the silly ones! The self-guided walk around the grounds and vines is also lovely. Oh yes - the wine is also very special. We loved the Edmée le Roy Blanc and the 2018 Cuvee du Baron CDP.

Fantastic experience, mainly due to Ewa, our host for the wine tasting. She was so sweet and informative. A very lovely winery with free tasting. Why don't they do that in the States.

An absolutely wonderful experience! Besides the opportunity to taste some truly amazing Chateauneuf di Pape wines, we had a very informative visit with one of the owners. It was fascinating to hear the insider’s view on making the wines and the technical aspects of working with the local terroir and grapes. he was patient with our nerdy questions, and even helped look up data for us to research! As well, an amazing hike is available through the estate vineyards, leaving right from in front of the cellar. The path was clearly marked and well kept, and the informational signs along the way were interesting to read. A really fun and gorgeous hike. Overall, an unmissable experience in Chateauneuf du Pape. Highly recommended visit and wines. We couldn’t decide which we like most… so we just bought all three reds so we didn’t have to decide!

Very much enjoyed the wine tasting and winery tour with our wonderful hostess (with excellent English and experience in Australian wineries too). The Le Baron 2018 was the best Chateauneuf d’Pape red wine I have had in the region.

Came for a wine tour arranged at the last minute. Tatania took us round and gave us an excellent explanation of the wine making experience. The wine tasting was made more enjoyable by her knowledge and infectious enthusiasm. We left with many happy memories and most importantly, how to gurgle and aerate the wine in our mouths!

INCREDIBLE! The quality of the food for the price is incredible. My husband and I each enjoyed a 4 course dinner with the wine pairing for each course, which was 62 Euros pp. We certainly would have paid twice that in the US for this experience. We both had the lamb shoulder and it was delicious, especially with the CdP red wine. Starter was a fish pate and an asparagus dish with puff pastry and cream sauce. And the cheese course! Three cheeses we had never had before. Service was excellent. Very efficient. Waiter could speak English too, which was helpful. The restaurant is beautiful too. Casual but elegant at the same time. Highly recommend a reservation. We plan to return for lunch so we can enjoy the magnificent view mentioned by all the reviewers. If you only have a short time in CdP, I'd put this restaurant on your list.

We had the EUR40 dinner menu... it was worth it. I love their entrée of the day and the fish mains. Whilst the cheese dish was great, the pastry that came with it was not as good as the initial starters that were provided at the start of the meal.

Extraordinary luncheon that we will remember for a long time. Highly recommend you order a Kir Royale and enjoy the breathtaking view from the terrace while you peruse the menu. Lunch is a great value. The service and food are excellent. Be sure to reserve in advance. Parking is above the restaurant at the ruins of the chateau. Short, steep walk down the steps to lunch. Hands down our favorite luncheon in Provence.

The food is sooo good! Very high quality! The views and atmosphere were gorgeous. The highlight of our day. We had the menu of the day - foie with lavender salt, tomatoes with a goat cheese ice cream, veal, and lamb. Everything was perfect and service was quick and friendly. Reservations are highly recommended. We came without and were able to snag the last table. Dinner menu included appetizer, entree, and dessert for 34 euros.

WORTH IT! Yes, it is pricey but it is worth it-- the view, the dining area, the attentive servers, and most importantly, the food. My husband and I had the 4 course lunch, which is actually 6 courses with 2 amuses. We also had champagne as an aperitif and a bottle of CdP, of course. We both left satisfied with no complaints. In fact, we have already booked another lunch before we leave CdP. The experience was unique and definitely memorable. We do not frequent Michelin star restaurants but thought this one was outstanding. Each course was delicious and explained to us in detail. The bread was the best we've had in France too. We had the veal and sea bass as the main course, and both were terrific-- Small portions so you can enjoy each course/movement. Parfait! The servers spoke both French and enough English that nothing got lost in translation. If you want to treat yourself, come dine here and enjoy every minute.

Food is very good. Wine list is extensive but pretty overpriced. Sommelier eager to help but lacked knowledge of the list, beyond a few local choices. Wine pricing and quality of service are critical for a wine region restaurant. Also, the somm served wine in a very incorrect glass.

passing by this well named wine village we stayed a night in the freshly renovated but 100 years old Hotel/ Restaurant La Mère Germaine. Welcomed and hosted by all elegant and amazingly friendly staff no question or wish was left unattended. The design of the rooms and the common areas is modern but harmonic with the history and the atmosphere of the house. The high quality and well thought details are what let me enjoy the place the most. Breakfast was served to our table (what is in my opinion the only acceptable way a breakfast should be offered) at the terrace with the view on the streets and square of this little village. The food had a excellent quality and the whole family enjoyed. This might become a regular stop on our way from south to north.

Heaven is being served daily here. Get a reservation, relax, enjoy and drift off into another place of sensory experiences that will make you feel like you have taken a vacation from the world. For one evening you will feel treated like royalty. The flavors will dance in your mouth and each course will be an absolute pleasure. Wish I could eat here every day of the rest of my life. That good. Having eaten at many of the finest restaurants in the world, I can say that this is one of the best ever. We had a starter that was incredible, I copied them below Beetroot Berlingot, red and yellow Chioggia stuffed with green asparagus and pine nuts. Asparagus tips rolled in olive oil and orange mint. Iodized trout egg Mediterranean Shellfish and Crustaceans. Airy hummus refreshed with sake and citrus fruits These were both excellent. I hate beets and I loved the beetroot. The shellfish was my dish and I was supremely happy. Wine pairings were perfect. Followed by these for mains Beef cheek with red wine from our vines Melting vegetable garden and grilled eggplant, marjoram, Châteauneuf-du-Pape sauce and Lamb Saddle and a piece of shoulder with some hummus and cauliflower. (I'm missing some description as I could not find a complete menu) The lamb saddle was like butter, so the crunchy vegetables were a great combination. The beef cheek I regret not having, my wife literally could not stop smiling. Thank god she let me try some. Smooth, tasty and decadent. We had a palate cleanser that was superb -not pictured, but no recollection what magic I ate. Then for dessert, Journey between Provence and the Islands, around the country’s citrus fruits and our emblematic herbs The view was amazing. The staff was gracious. Sommelier was perfect in making a pairing even though we ordered one item off the tasting menu for our 4 course meal. Get to this place as soon as possible and enjoy a Slice of Heaven!

DELICIOUS! Everything was fresh and delicious. Many menu choices, too. (Menu suggests wine for each dish too, which was nice given all the great wine here to choose from.) The artichoke bread to share was fantastic. Could easily be a meal. My husband and I could not finish it but definitely wanted to. The sea bass was one of the best dishes I've had after 2+ weeks in CdP. My husband had the lamb stew, and it was so flavorful and filling. We enjoyed great wine and a baba rhum for dessert. The starters and desserts were very good. The main (rotisserie) was average and definitely overpriced with 30€ per person. We felt slightly let down by the service. Not that they were not nice and trying but unfortunately need to improve on professionalism. We were asking for the menu, but we somehow misled to a la carte (Not a language barrier as my wife is a native French speaker). Also, the recommended wine was good, but not a perfect pairing.

Just by curiosity I checked online and with was full of availability to make reservation. I made mine and came back to the restaurant. When I attempt to open the door another guy came and block it !!!!! He asked me what I was trying to do, I said I made the reservation. He got very nervous and told me it was not possible that I had to leave. He finally let me In to check on the computer and saw the reservation, he talked to me very bad and said he was not going to give us a table. Very bad moments for us that we arrived with all the expectations. Logis Hôtel la Sommellerie is a charming 17th-century stone house nestled in the heart of Chateauneuf-du-Pape's vineyards. The Provençal-style rooms offer a traditional ambiance, and guests can enjoy the scenic surroundings by the river. The hotel features an attached winery, a seasonal outdoor pool, and bicycles for rent. With attentive owners offering valuable local insights, it's an ideal base for exploring the area's wine culture.
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel La Sommellerie. We booked it at the last minute hoping for a quaint hotel near Chateauneuf du Pape and we weren’t disappointed. The room was excellent with a super comfy mattress, air conditioning and a good shower. The owners, Camille and Silvio made us feel at home, in particular making an effort with our eight month old baby. It felt like we were staying at a home rather than a hotel and the garden area is as relaxing as it looks. Lastly, the food we had at dinner was some of the best we have had in France, with the beouf being a highlight. We would definitely come back and stay in the future.

The best part of our stay was the hosts and owners, Silvie and Camille. They were so gracious and helpful and just made you feel so comfortable. They were extremely helpful in all respects. Besides the great owners, it is a lovely property, beautifully landscaped right next to a large vineyard. Everyone enjoyed sitting outside by the pool next to the flowers. The restaurant was also excellent. Last point is that the location is very central and convenient for day trips all over Provence. Between the hotel, the grounds, the location and the owners, this is a 5-star experience.

Very welcoming little hotel. The rooms are very simple but functional and have comfortable beds. But the restaurant is absolutely amazing! The menu is very tempting and the food is excellent! Lovely hotel and lovely owners. We were a bit disappointed in our room as it faced the road and so we couldn't open our windows due to the noise (I think it was 17 and I believe 15 will have the same issue). So try to get rooms facing the pool, as it is a lovely view (and past that is a vineyard). Otherwise, the room was a nice size. Our breakfasts were verygood with a nice selection. We had a fantastic dinner there. Nearby is a walking path along the river so we thought the location was great. There is also a winery nearby.

I don’t think I could have picked a better home base to explore the Chateauneuf-du-Pape region of France. Hotel was intimate, peaceful, and incredibly relaxing. Staff was welcoming and helpful, hotel is minutes from some of the best wineries in the region, room was large with excellent a/c, hot shower with excellent water pressure, comfortable bed, and excellent breakfast out on the terrace. After a full day of exploring it was also nice to come back to dinner at the onsite restaurant. 100% recommend and would stay there again.

On tour during the Tour de France 2025, we stopped at this hotel for a coffee and breakfast but the staff were very unfriendly and made it clear that without a room reservation, this was not possible. They didn't even try to show any hospitality which after all is the base of running a hotel.. Very sad to experience this!

Nestled in the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Hostellerie Château des Fines Roches is a luxurious retreat set within an enchanting 19th-century castle. With only 11 uniquely decorated rooms, each offers stunning views of the surrounding vineyards, creating a serene and picturesque atmosphere for guests. The Provencal-inspired decor harmoniously blends traditional elegance with modern comforts.
A very authentic place for relaxation and quiet rest. Unfortunately, we were passing through and only one day, so we did not have time to fully enjoy all the possibilities of the hotel. But it is absolutely certain that the staff is professional and caring, the breakfasts are very tasty, the room is very authentic, and the sunrises are simply incredible. And of course the wine, for which we stopped at this wonderful place, is absolutely superb!!! Thank you very much))

IDEAL LOCATION for an outdoor lunch or dinner. The view is stunning. We had lunch at the restaurant. (We did not stay at the hotel.) The food was excellent. It was a set menu (formulae) but there were a number of nice selections to choose from. I had the pasta with seafood and lamb shoulder and my husband had the egg dish and the fish. There was not much seafood in the pasta dish but the pasta was cooked well. The egg dish was dry but the lamb and fish were outstanding. Cake dessert was okay. The pours on the champagne and wine seemed light to us. May be better to order a bottle. Service was good but staff had earpieces to communicate with each other and seemed slightly distracted when taking our orders. Nevertheless, I recommend visiting here.

Tucked in the hills of Chateauneuf du Pape, this beautiful hotel was a dreamy place to land for a few days on our honeymoon. The room, after climbing into one of the turrets, was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view, and the staff was kind and excited to celebrate with us. Aurelian, one of the front desk staff, was especially kind. On the night of our arrival, he had anticipated we'd had a long travel day and had booked a table at the Restaurant Fines Roches, which had been otherwise completely booked. Note to readers, don't miss this restaurant if you are staying there - the blind menu was incredible. Thank you for helping make our honeymoon unforgetable!

Absolutely fantastic experience. We went to the Chateau for our son’s 30th birthday and from the moment we entered we were greeted by the friendliest attentive staff. The Chateau facilities, views and ambience were outstanding, the meals were absolutely delicious-Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a luxurious and unforgettable stay.

The exterior of this place is truly stunning, like a beautiful castle, and it really impressed us. The restaurant was also amazing, and we especially appreciated the sommelier's excellent guidance with the wine. However, the interior felt like any other hotel, with none of the charm or character suggested by the outside. Our room wasn't ready at the stated 3 PM check-in time, and it was never cleaned during our stay. We had to ask for fresh towels and more toilet paper, which was quite inconvenient. Also, be aware that there's no proper shower, just a bathtub with a showerhead that's positioned at a somewhat awkward angle on the wall. Hence, we cannot give more than 3 stars.

We were only in the restaurant, not in the hotel. The location is impressive, and the restaurant just worthy because of the place. The food was very tasty and its presentation really thought full. I’ve given a 3 only because I has been very disappointed with the wine selection. When you pay 45 Eur for a local wine from Côtes du Rhône you expect a quality that at least you can not find in a supermarket. This has been the recommendation of the sommelier, since my first choice was not available any more. The wine menu could be more updated, I think.

Fantastic environment if you like to wake up in the cloud with beautiful vineyards and a castle along with a small pool. For the dinner, of course it's expensive with high quality of gourmet but the service need to be improved.

When I checked in, the hotel gave me a paper stating that smoking is not allowed in the restaurant. However, during the meal, a guest next to us smoked for two hours and no one stopped them. When I brought it up at check-out, the staff told me that smoking is actually allowed, which was very surprising. The bathroom in room number 5 has a drainage problem: the water doesn’t drain at all.
