If you're interested in surrealism, a visit to the Dalí Museum in Figueres is a must. I've been there before, ages ago. But I enjoyed it this time even more. I guess there is no doubt about the greatness of Dalí's extraordinary and astonishing work. We ordered the tickets online before. It's recommended. We parked right at the Museum in a parking garage (payed 3,30 € per hour). My son is disabled so he didn't had to pay the entry fee. We booked it in advance and it was no problem with a german severely disabled certificate at the entrance of the museum. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Will visit again next time I will be in Catalonia.

Fantastic place! Got a fast pass skip the line ticket and got in right away, definitely recommend doing this, as even in off season it was suuuuper busy. The art and architecture is amazing. Lots of different rooms and areas to view and take in all the imagery. There are a few spaces to sit down, but could do with some more chairs around though, especially at it takes a few hours to really take everything in and visit all the rooms. In terms of accessibility, best to check with the venue itself to ensure it’s suitable for you. Some ramps are very steep and stairs are quite spiralling. Not sure how many tour groups are allowed in at each time slot but there were so many at the time I went and they rush and push through quickly through the narrow hallways, so be aware of this as well. Really fun day, nice walk through town to get there and lots of places to grab a drink, snack or coffee before or after your visit.

Paintings, drawings and ’flat’ art very good, sculptures and other works less interesting to me. Entry tickets are timed so buy when you arrive then join the line. There is no signage to give a structured tour of the museum, so you have to wander around and make sure you don’t miss anything. Too crowded, people always in front of you, pushing phones in front of you and snapping away, or standing posing. In those situations it’s hard to take in and appreciate what you’re seeing.

This museum takes you on a trip- a wonderful exploration into Dalís world and life. It's a very special place, created with so much heart and soul. Something everybody should experience. We've been there on a sunday in october, without reservations and got tickets without waiting. The rooms and floors inside are a bit smaller, so it was a little busy, but nevertheless, it was enough space to enjoy everything. There's a lot to discover, and watching every painting and installation closely you could easily spend the whole day there. But you can also see everything in about 1 or 2 hours. A must-see museum if you love Dali’s work. Even though it was busy, I still enjoyed taking my time and appreciating the artwork and sculptures. Get your tickets online in advance and be prepared to be mind-blown!

A place you must visit and see. Art enriches your consciousness and gives you the opportunity to be a better person. I recommend it. An extraordinary place where art and everyday life are clearly visible. It's wonderful that Spaniards care so much about their heritage.

The Dali Museum was the highlight of our time in eastern Spain! Since we visited in November, the museum was not packed with visitors. To see Dali’s work up close was magical! This is a “must see” when visiting Spain!

I visited the Sant Ferran Castle in Figueres and it was a truly impressive experience. It’s a massive military fortress, very well preserved, and you can really get a sense of how these defensive structures worked up close. The scale of the place is stunning – from the thick stone walls to the underground tunnels and the huge water cisterns. One of the highlights was a short 4x4 guided tour around the outer moat, which was both fun and informative. You can even walk along the ramparts and enjoy amazing views over the Empordà region. There are original cannons, vast courtyards, and fascinating stories behind every corner. The staff were friendly and passionate about the history of the site. Highly recommended if you're in the area – a great stop for history lovers or anyone curious about military architecture!

Interesting peace of history just next to a very big parking perfect for campers and safe (during the day) because of the many people coming and going. Only à ten minute walk to the Dalì museum. The castle is vast and has some impressive views over the region and city.

That’s definitely one of the most underestimated landmarks I’ve ever been to. It’s the largest military facility / fortress in Europe. For sure the Dalí museum is the heart of Figueres but this place is fantastic. It’s only 20 mins on foot from the museum. There is a parking available. You can find so many interesting spots like the fortress walls, living pavilions, some ruins, amazing underground tunnels and buildings (stables). It’s breathtaking. Also there is an indescribable view of the mountains and the valley. It costs just 5 euros per person. There are lots of events you may be interested in. Just check their website. One of the reason I will come back is that there is an underground water supply with 9 million litres of pure water. It’s a must to explore. You can take a self guided tour through the castle with a detailed enough map.

Incredible site — not too crowded, with truly impressive architecture. The place holds tremendous historical significance and plays a major role in shaping the town as it is today. If you get the chance, book a guided tour in advance; it offers fascinating insights and access to some of the more adventurous, normally closed-off areas.

This castle visit costs €6pp. It is an empty site of historical buildings only. Few exhibition to see. Most buildings are occupied with no entrance for tour.

Very interesting and grandeur! Just ... at this reception a young man greeted us and served us, friendly but no more, no additional informations, just minimum and just about correct. The young lady, I have no idea what she is paid for ... no greetings, no interest (except maybe for the young man, just tjs horrible wanting to be cool attitude and not too much work. This has killed a bit our pleasure in visiting and paying the entrance, which is - maybe the girl has not learned that - in the end part of her salary.

Great parking, even for motorhomes. Easy access. Fortress is absolutely amazing. The size of it is astounding. Not enough info in the handout but tours are available. Highly recommend a visit.

Must visit place for guys born in 80s and 90s :) in general a vast number of toys of different generations are being presented together with a lovely souvenirs shop. Tickets can be booked in advanced online and there are no queues.

Very interesting and engaging museum with tons of toys lined up, and packed into different relevant sections. So cool to see all the different nostalgic toys that were part of a different time, and once played with by famous people. Some toys could seem creepy like the dolls, but other than that the rest were fascinating to look at. There were some interactive or dynamic parts but not enough in my opinion.

What a wonderful experience was visiting the museum! Hundreds of toys from many epoques carefully exposed. Some of them, reminded me of my infancy. What a joy! And the staff was really kind. It was awesome. You won't regret a tour through their three floors full of beautiful toys.

Have been here multiple times, really great museum with toys from different ages, always very fascinating to look at them and see, what past generations played with. Really liked the room with huge toy houses wotg all the tiny details. Recommended

Interesting place, many toys, some of them creepy, but it’s a museum and it works perfectly as a gateway to past. More people should visit it.

A bounce in the childhood, to see an exceptional collection of toys from different parts of the world. Is worthing a visit if you are in Figueres, or having a Dali museum ticket gives you a 30% discount for entry ticket at Toy museum (usually of 7 eur), both museums being very close to each other

This church in Figueres was where Salvador Dali was baptised and probably worth visiting especially if following a trail of Salvador Dali's life. The church has been around since the 10th century. Probably originally built in Romanesque, it's now in a mix of Romanesque, Gothic and Neoclassical. Inside, it's a fairly simple church, with a very simple alter of plain unadorned wall and only a statue of Jesus set into the recess of the back wall of the alter. The octagonal rool just above the alter is also very pretty as are the three rose windows. Worthwhile seeing if in Figueres.

There is quite and peaceful atmosphere here, after full and crowded museum Dali we found here a piece of rest and another vibe. There was an organ music almost without visitors.

When my wife and I traveled through Spain, we also visited Figueres and Girona and their attractions. I was drawn to the facade of this church. Beautiful details worthy of a photo.

Located by Dali s museum, Sant Pere s cathedral is one of the most important attractions in Figueres. Impressive architecture and vitros will capture your eye and soul. The atmosphere and the silence will relax your mind for a while. Good opportunity for a little prayer. Entrance is free do don't lose the opportunity to visit.

Amazing private collection of vintage typewriters, sewing machines and telephones, including many experimental weird units. Owned by an elderly couple, who are happy to give a tour in Spanish or French. Definitely worth a visit, real unexpected gem for those interested in history of technology.

We were amazed by the fine condition and the number of the antique machines collected by an amazing old couple. Senora Magrita(don't know if I spell her name correctly) guided us through the whole museum for more than an hour, such a pity that I dont speak Espanyol nor French, but can feel her passion and love towards these collections, besides each collection has a brief intro in multiple languages includnig English. This musem y Dali y toy museum are three places we enjoyed most. Gotta take another visit here if I'm back to Figueres in the future.

Simply an incredible museum. The collection is like nothing I've ever seen. The woman who runs the museum gives a very informative tour. Their typewriter collection on the third floor is nothing short of amazing. Note: she does not speak any languages other than Spanish, so bring a translator along if you don't!

Beside all the great Dali' creations, this restaurant is the second reason I love to come back to Figueres. All the food are amazing and with unique cooking identity. Wine list are amazing and with very good price. Service also exceptional!

Very nice place with innovative and very different cuisine. We had 2 dishes, corvina fish and egg/squid metamorphosis, both were great. My only complaint is tge speed of service. We were there on a lazy Sunday afternoon, there were people but it wasn't packed. For tge sake of the food I would certainly recommend this place.

Friendly and welcoming multilingual staff who are so earnest; excellent food and fun desserts - I particularly enjoyed the rice dish. Definitely worth having at least one meal at Bocam when in Figueres.

Unfair to call this place a tourist trap! It is in a very touristy town but we were were met with very polite and friendly service and had a very nice late lunch after our visit to the Dali museum. Would recommend it for anyone in a similar situation!

Friendliest staff ever. Super fresh and crispy patatas bravas. Crema catalana was delicious and the sangria (not pictured) was really nice too. Got a free sample of their ostrich meat sauce which was a fun surprise. The salad and ravioli were nothing special but fine. Would definitely recommend this place, even if it’s just because the owners are so lovely, and at the very least their food is fresh.

A tourist trap. Food was not that great. Calamari was slightly overcooked, french fries did not have salt, salmon ravioli was overcooked, chocolate mousse and catalan cream desserts were not that great. Menu of the day was decently priced

Tonight I had the perfect beef steak cooked to perfection with love and followed by profiteroles. All washed down by a lovely house red. The service was outstanding and well worth the cost. Thank you.

It seems just another restaurant amongst many, but every dish is a pleasant surprise. The kindness of the staff is the final touch.

French owned family bistro which serves variety of traditional Catalan and French dishes. The staff is really nice, attentive and strengthens the family atmosphere. There are no dedicated meals for kids, but the portions are big and you can easily split them. Pasta was way too beyond "al dente" for our taste but the rest was good. It is a nice place to have a little meal for a good price before going to Dali museum. Would come again.

The place was fun and great. Started with a majestic sangria, Diego attended us warmly, being very kind and cheering. Food was delicious and they have a system of a dopamine-releasing ringing bell from time to time and offering warm pinxos on the spot. Had an awesome time. Recommended.

It's interesting that it shows up as a hotel and not a restaurant when placing the review. The food was good. I liked the bell ringing when a new round came out with warm tapas. It was one of the best tapas restaurant I've ever tried. Some of the waiters were not that nice, but all in all ..was ok.

We only stopped over in Figueres on the way from Zaragoza to Germany. The evening at Lizzaran was an unexpected highlight! The tapas are fresh and sensationally delicious. The warm offerings from the kitchen are passed around by the service. If you like, you can take something. You take the cold tapas yourself from the counter. The service staff are great and the atmosphere is pleasant. We will definitely be back!

My review of Lizaran is easy — the best pinchos I had on this trip to Spain. They were creative, beautifully prepared, and really delicious. You can choose from a variety of cold pinchos, and warm ones are brought around by staff. The arrival of the warm pinchos is always announced with a little bell, which makes it fun and something to look forward to. A great visit!

Everything was excellent. Lively and Warm friendly service from Carlos!! And the rest of the staff. Pintxo were amazing. Self serve and just count the toothpicks at the end. The cheese cake was a definite hit as well. If you are in figueres you should definitely stop in.

No idea why this shows up as a hotel. It’s Lizarran a Tapas restaurant. I don’t know where the people before us have eaten their tapas, but this is clearly not 5, 4 or even 3 stars… We had tapas from the counter for 2,60€ and fresh from the kitchen and ordered from the card (see picture). Non of them where really good or remarkable. Pimentos where missing salt and some heat, the Calamar where chewy and also missing salt and had too much bread crust and finally the patatas bravas where too soft and where soaked in sauce. The tapas from the counter where not tasty and the bread was somewhat dry. Last but not least the atmosphere, this has nothing to do with a Spanish tapas bar. This is more a tourist trap and that’s why it does not deserve more than 2 stars. And the bell that announces fresh tapas from the kitchen is simply too load. The waiters have no feeling for when you are finished eating. You can certainly find a more authentic and delicious place in Figueres. Not recommended!!

The second best reason to go to Figueres. Great service, excellent food, wait for the bell and buy hot Pinchos at the table. Ask for Carlos. He’s the man.

So arrived very close to the kitchen closing and got 1 dish instead of two but was charged the full price of menu express... which kind of fell icky, but the quality of food was good. Just paid a very high price for a place this far out of the city and where every review literally said "super affordable". I did arrive late but....If the kitchen is closed then just tell me so, don't try to charge me the price of 2 dishes for just 1 (i took croquettes because this is the only thing they insisted they had). The staff was friendly but i only found out later I could take 2 dishes..

Our bad for not reading up on the place before sitting here but they have a fixed lunch menu for 18€ that includes 2 dishes, olives and bread, water and house wine, and a dessert. It was good but the choices are very limited if you’re vegetarian. Bit more fancy than we were going for but it was a fun surprise since there are lots of locals eating here too. Very nice staff!

Back after many years. This restaurant is an absolute gem! The friendly waiters, delicious food and unbeatable value for money (18€ for 3 course meal with water AND wine!!!) We came twice this holiday and hope to come again some day. Make sure you reserve a table the day before. Those who hadn’t were turned away because it was full. Thank you!!!

Great place! Very cozy and beautifully designed. The menu is amazing with a lot of variety, even for vegans. Food was delicious, especially the dessert. Waiters are all super friendly and the food was served very quickly. We were in a rush and had some special requests for takeaway and they made it happen in no time. The prices for everything are very good. If ever back in this town would love to come back. Best place I’ve been to in a long time. Thank you!

Highly recommended if you are visit for the Dali-theater museum. Had their daily 2 course menu (17 Euro on Sat) and the meal was excellent. The red house wine was also amazing. Decorations were also very beautiful. Perhaps one of the better meals we had during this Barcelona trip.

Fantastic spot for a drink and for food. Wait staff are incredible, accomodating, very welcoming and the menu is easy to understand with multiple languages. Menu is clearly labelled with dietary restrictions making it easy for vegans, vegetarians, lactose intolerant and gluten free etc. Great part of town, food is generous and well priced, atmosphere is lovely. Highly recommend.

The grilled Octopus (Galecian Style) was perfectly cooked... so tender and delicious and paired nicely with a glass of Duero, alongside a nice Champètre country salad!! And very friendly English speaking staff to boot!!
