Mosque
Sights & Landmarks
Nestled in the heart of Prizren's old town, the Sinan Pasha Mosque stands as a testament to Ottoman architectural brilliance. Completed in 1615 by Sofi Sinan Pasha, this mosque is not just a place of worship but also an essential part of the city's cultural fabric. Its stunning dome and minaret are complemented by beautifully painted walls adorned with verses from the Qur'an and intricate floral motifs.
This magnificent mosque, built in 1615, takes you back in time with its architecture and the sense of peace it evokes as you step inside. Spacious and simple, yet deeply impressive, it’s a must-see for anyone visiting Prizren. It’s a rare place with a strong spiritual presence, where you can truly feel and breathe in its historical atmosphere.
Faruk K — Google review
This impressive mosque is beautifully positioned, overlooking the city and creating a stunning backdrop when viewed from the old stone bridge below. Its presence adds a striking touch to the skyline and the overall charm of the area.
G W — Google review
Today I was walking through the old streets of Prizren, taking in the view of stone houses and the scent of traditional food. The city radiates with soul and history at every step. And then, unexpectedly – the Sinan Pasha Mosque, nearly 450 years old. It’s adorned with a graceful minaret rising high above the city, and the interior is breathtaking – geometric patterns and Arabic calligraphy painted on the walls tell a story of rich Ottoman art and spirituality. It was truly an honor to be present in such a place
TheDemir — Google review
Reminded me of Haga Sofía. The Sinan Pasha Mosque is majestic, absolutely amazing and the most beautiful landmark in the city. We visited on a rainy day and it was a very warm sight. Beautiful architecture and a must visit when in town
Cristian G — Google review
The Sinan Pasha Mosque is an Ottoman-era mosque in the city of Prizren, Kosovo built by Sofi Sinan in 1615. The mosque overlooks the main street of Prizren and is a dominant feature in the town's skyline. The interior of the mosque is very beautiful. The main hall is kept clean and well maintained. Alhamdulillah, for the opportunity to perform prayers here. May Allah bless the keepers of the mosque, and also all those who perform prayers.
Rahmah R — Google review
The Sinan Pasha Mosque was built by Sofi Sinan in 1615, the Ottoman period. The Mosque dominates the skyline of Prizren and with the mountain in the background it looks more beautiful. The interior of the Mosque is simple, but beautiful. Women must wear scarf to enter the Mosque and its available on request. It's a must visit place in Prizren.

Must visit if you’re ever in prizren. Lovely views with the surrounding city too
Jack F — Google review
Traditional design mosque. There are some benches around to sit. On the other side it's mainly surrounded by some stands selling souvenirs. You can take some good pictures. The road up to the fortress starts around the corner

Fortress

Military Bases & Facilities
Nestled atop a hill, Prizren Fortress, or Kalaja e Prizrenit, stands as a testament to the rich history of this vibrant town in Kosovo. Once the heart of the Serbian Empire, this medieval fortress offers breathtaking panoramic views that capture the essence of Prizren's multicultural tapestry. The town is home to a harmonious blend of Albanians, Serbs, and Turks who coexist amidst stunning religious architecture.
Tough walk up to the fortress, even more in warm weather. Interesting castle ruins with fantastic 360 views over Prizren. The castle is unfortunately not looked after, so missing planks on the walks, overgrowth, lack of railing and information signs is some of the things that should be fixed.
Arvid S — Google review
The Prizren Fortress is one of the most beautiful historical sites in Kosovo. It offers an amazing panoramic view of the whole city, especially during sunset. The walk up is not too difficult, and along the way you can enjoy the charming streets of Prizren. The fortress itself is full of history and gives you a real sense of the city’s past. A must-visit place if you are in Prizren!
Drin M — Google review
Incredible views of Prizren from here! Wonderful for sunset and a nice hike after a meal. There is plenty to explore and much of the fortress is in good condition still.
Taco M — Google review
Wow. What a cool fortress and spectacular views. It is a bit of a hike but many places to stop with great views. The views are of the whole city, river, mountains, valleys and much more. Sunset is a great time to go but be sure to leave before it gets too dark. Cobblestones make it tricky at times and wouldn't want to do it in the dark. The fortress is very cool designed to deal with artillery while commanding the valley.
John I — Google review
If you’re into hiking and/or beautiful views, I recommend walking up to the old fortress in the morning to beat the crowds. It’s a 15-20 minute walk uphill from the city center. Once on the top, you’ll see stunning views of Prizren and the surrounding mountains.
Austin G — Google review
This is a beautiful castle! It sits right on top of the hill so it has a beautiful view of the whole city of Prizren! It is completely free, and you can just go there and explore around. We were also there when the call to prayer went off, so it was very cool to hear it echoing from all of the mosques in the main city. Overall, a great experience
Prishtinë M — Google review
You need to be ready to hike here. We walked up there early morning to get sunrise pictures. It is free to get in. Nice view of Prizren, Kosovo. You need to be careful when you go down. Because lt is so steep and slippery cobblestone road.
H O — Google review
There’s a stone road that leads us to the fortress, it’s quite steep and takes some times. Up there can have great panoramic view of the whole Prizren town.

Bridge
Sights & Landmarks
The Old Stone Bridge, also known as ura e Gurit, is a significant landmark in Prizren, Kosovo. This historic bridge was constructed with stones in the latter half of the 15th century and spans the Prizrenska Bistrica or Lumbardhi River, connecting Shatervan square and Sarachane square.
The landmark and iconic bridge of Prizren. The bridge has an unspeakable charm to it, I had a lot of fun taking photos of it. Although I wished local authorities will pay attention to the cleanliness around it, as its littered with rubbish.
Yuhng Y — Google review
The Stone Bridge in Prizren is a beautiful spot that connects the old and new parts of the city. It arches over the Bistrica River, creating the perfect place to stop, take in the view, and snap some great photos. The area is full of life, with cafés and restaurants on both sides, making it a great place to sit and soak in the atmosphere. Plus, the impressive Sinan Pasha Mosque stands in the background, adding to the charm of this historic city. Definitely worth a visit!
Maria A — Google review
This charming old stone bridge and its surroundings must be lovely on a warm day. Unfortunately, it was cold and windy during our visit, which took away a bit of the magic. Still, the riverside is lined with plenty of inviting cafés and restaurants—definitely a spot worth revisiting in better weather.
G W — Google review
The Stone Bridge (Ura e Gurit) is a historic landmark in Prizren, Kosovo spanning the Lumbardhi River and connecting the Shatervan Square (on the left of the river)to the Sarachane (on the right side of the river). Constructed in the late 15th or early 16th century, it features a central arch flanked by two smaller side arches, all built with quality carved stones and lime plaster. The original bridge was approximately 30metres, but after the reconstruction in 1982, it now measures 17metres. The bridge has undergone several reconstructions due to structural damages and natural disasters, including a severe flood in 1979. Today, the bridge serves as a pedestrian bridge and stands as a symbol of Prizren’s rich cultural heritage. Not far from the bridge is the historical Sinan Pasha Mosque. It was indeed amazing to be here on this iconic bridge.
Rahmah R — Google review
Beautiful reconstructed bridge in the centre. Lots of cafés and restaurants around. Great. For a picture!
Finbar M — Google review
Historical Relevance The Old Stone Bridge in Prizren, Kosovo, built in the 16th century during Ottoman rule by Ali Bey, symbolizes the city’s multicultural heritage as a trade and cultural hub linking East and West. It spans the Lumbardhi (Bistrica) River, connecting Prizren’s historic Ottoman core to modern districts, much like Mostar’s bridge. As a protected cultural monument, it embodies resilience amid regional conflicts and natural disasters. 1 Interesting Facts • Destroyed by floods in 1979; rebuilt by local efforts using original designs. • Features Ottoman arched architecture with a spherical shape for aesthetics and engineering. • Frames views of the 1574 Sinan Pasha Mosque, enhancing its photogenic appeal in a lively café district.
Francisco R — Google review
The Lumbardh River goes through Prizren, dividing the city in two parts. Over the Prizren Lumbardh, many bridges have been built in history, the most special one is the Stone Bridge. Located in the center of the old town. Built by Ali Beu in the 16th century in the oriental style and has spherical shape, but destroyed due to floods, and rebuilt in 1982 with major changes in architecture.

History Museums
The Albanian League of Prizren, also known as Muzeu Lidhja Shqiptare e Prizrenit, is considered the birthplace of modern Albanian nationalism. The museum complex is housed in the buildings where the league met and showcases paintings and sculptures depicting the Albanian national struggle.
It's a great place to learn more about the history of Prizren. It’s divided into two buildings with three exhibitions. The small building focuses on the history of the League. The main building has an ethnography exhibition on the ground floor, displaying traditional clothing and everyday items while the upper floor is dedicated to paintings and statues related to the League. The collection isn’t huge, but it’s well-organized and informative. It gives a good overview of the city's history and cultural heritage. The staff is very friendly and happy to answer any questions, making the visit even more enjoyable. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Prizren!

J — Google review
Worth visiting 1 euro the cost of the museum, very informative about the history and culture. It's not very big place so you will not get much time to visit it.
Endri C — Google review
This museum was our first stop in Prizren ... A very small museum talks about the history of Albanian nationalism in the 18-19th century. . Albanian traditional clothes , even for bride and groom at that time. Is kept in this museum.... It's really interesting.... original building was bulldozed by Serbian
Cutelady B — Google review
Wish there was more information provided, however, I must say the art work, as well as the cultural items on display were incredibly interesting and beautiful. It was nice to learn, and now better understand, Albania's history and culture.
Robin M — Google review
Every Albanian should definitely visit it.
Klodi T — Google review
A must visit for those who are interested in the very beginning of the Albanian national project. It is not a massive place by any chance, and there are not too many exhibits, but you do not get to be in a house where they started a nation all that often. For 1 Euro, it is well worth a visit.

Orthodox church
Sights & Landmarks
The Serbian Cathedral Mother of God of Ljeviš is a 14th-century Serbian Orthodox church located in Prizren, Kosovo. Originally built on top of an old Byzantine Church during the reign of a Serbian King, it was later converted into a mosque by the Ottomans before being restored to its original form when Serbia annexed the region back in 1910.
Very important place for Serbians and Serbian identity. It is not just holly place bit also important place for World Heritage. It is a must visit if you are in Prizren.

Very interesting part of the magical city of Prizren🇦🇱👐🏻🇽🇰 With having this church in our city we show that we Albanians we are people of harmony and peace. Even though the terrorists neighbours on the other side of the border don’t deserve this peace from us , we are here to show to the world that we are not like them🙌🏼 Lavdi Shqiperise dhe Shqiptareve!!!
Ermest S — Google review
The site of the church in Prizren reportedly sits on successive layers: a 5th-6th-century basilica, then an 11th-12th-century church, and later the 1306-07 It is referred to as a “church of the Byzantine period” in archaeological studies, i.e., Some sources mention debates about earlier pagan or Illyrian temple foundations under this church
I. A — Google review
Beautiful Church, inside a lot of paintings have been preserved but it seems to have been abandoned or in a fire. Definitively worth visiting! To get inside you need to speak to the guard/police in the cabin across the street. They will take your ID or passport, when you come outside you can recollect it with them. They were very friendly, as was the Church guide.
Jarno N — Google review
Entering is free, if the front gate is closed, you have to press the doorbell, someone will come to open it for you.

Medieval church. Worth a short visit, but don't expect the level of work seen at its sister UNESCO sites

I almost started crying, and I'm not religious, but touched by its beauty and history. It survived so many attacs and years. Now, surrounded by barbed wire... you can not entrance. Nestled near the Shadervan area, Restaurant Beska offers a cozy setting and warm hospitality. For three generations, this eatery has been serving up delicious Eastern European cuisine made from cherished family recipes. The vintage decor in the welcoming dining room adds to the charm of the place. The menu features traditional dishes like qebapa and tava, as well as hearty comfort foods such as pierogis and schnitzels.
I went there based on a recommendation. The food is definitely delicious. Although I’ve had better, they do a great job with Balkan-style meatballs. The place is crowded but quite spacious. The staff is friendly and chatty. I met some really lovely people there. Service is fast, and the prices are average.
Öykü B — Google review
Restaurant Beska is a very spacious restaurant with many tables inside and outside. Inside has interesting decoration. Outside has view of the mosque 🕌 and the square. They advertised the menu for two and we went for it. It was decent portion with some effect of smoke. The meat plate was tasty enough and salad was fresh.
Maria A — Google review
WARNING: THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT ANIMAL WELFARE. The staff is pushy and intrusive. The food is pretty mediocre. They give you free orange slices and tea to wash away the taste of the food. Okay, they have an aquarium. But they also have a squirrel in a tiny cage. This is not okay!!! Restaurants should not exploit wild animals to draw in customers. Unfortunately we found out about the squirrel after dinner. Good alternatives on the square are Gatsby and Pashtriku. The Burek Sarajevo is also a great option for a simple but amazing snack.
Kevin V — Google review
Shared a mixed grill after a “local” recommendation. Food was very tasty and plentiful, waiters were attentive and provided fast service considering the amount of covers. Bit of “theatre” when the meal arrived provided by some dry ice, and overall a very good dining experience.
Alasdair L — Google review
the service was beautiful, fast and the waiter was very gentle and funny…the place have a magic atmosphere that makes me feel so relaxed AND more they even have a little and funny squirrel…❤️❤️❤️
Sofi — Google review
The food was good, but I was quite disturbed to see a squirrel kept in a small enclosure. These animals are not meant for entertainment or to be confined in such conditions, especially in a restaurant. This completely ruined my dining experience. I sincerely hope the restaurant owner will release that poor animal and ensure it is treated humanely
Zeynep K — Google review
Overcrowded, loud and poorly maintained. They don’t even use table covers—everything is served directly on the bare glass. The oil container was filthy, and the food was underwhelming. All meat dishes tasted the same, just in different shapes. Way overpriced for what you get. Wouldn’t recommend.

Te Syla is a popular restaurant located near Sinan Pasha Mosque, known for its delicious qebapa and traditional oven-baked bread. The rustic decor adds to the authentic dining experience. It's a local favorite, especially for their Prizren-style qebapa and fresh salads. While they don't accept credit cards, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly despite being busy.
Great place by the river, friendly staff and good food. I wasn’t expecting a place like this in this area but this restaurant/bar was awesome to stop by and have drink and try a local dish. Love it!

Just ate at a place right in the heart of Prizren, and it was awesome! The food was seriously authentic and tasted amazing; everything was so flavorful. Plus, the service was super friendly and attentive, making the whole experience great. I would highly recommend checking it out if you're ever in the area! Definitely worth a visit.

We each ordered the shish kebab twice and the pleskavica twice, plus three portions of fries. The dishes are served with a small salad and flatbread. Personally, I would have liked a small dip on the side, but that’s rather uncommon in Kosovo and also in Albania unless you order it separately. That said, everything was really tasty and fairly priced (about 6-7 Euros). The food was served quickly and was nice and hot. One slightly unpleasant aspect was the street vendors and beggars who regularly come up to the tables. Normally that doesn’t bother me much, but the frequency here was really high (about every 4–5 minutes), which was a bit annoying. Still, the central location and the ambiance are truly lovely, and I can definitely recommend this restaurant in this beautiful city.
Fliegbert S — Google review
Really large authentic local restaurant operating in a hygienic environment, with friendly staff and fresh hot dishes. FOOD: Various chicken, beef and vegetarian dishes. As a coeliac I have a very sensitive stomach and can gladly say I never once felt ill in the time eating here, everything always came out hot, fresh and carefully prepared. Their fresh bread was thoroughly enjoyed by friends too. STAFF: The gentlemen were lovely and helpful, Google translate may be required, however that's part of going to a local fave. They have menu's in English as well. INTERIOR: Clean and suprisingly very large. They have loads of outdoor seating, easily suiting huge groups and inside, several larger rooms and additional upstairs seating. In the time there I saw business women meeting up, Dad's catching up, elderly popping by and tourists eating here. ACCESSIBILITY: While those with prams, walkers, wheelchairs can sit outside, there are a couple of stairs into the restaurant and the bathrooms are down a steep longer set of stairs. OVERALL: Highly recommend and would always come back.

The food was good an affordable. The bruschetta was a little bit tasteless and the table a bit sticky, that’s the reason for 4stars. The service was really nice, polite and extremely fast. I’d definitely go there again though.
Amelie P — Google review
Lunch by the riverside, wonderful experience. The kebab was delicious and flavourful, served with their local bread which is soft and doughy.

The food was tasty, the service friendly and good! Affordable prices too. It was nice to enjoy the food outside by the river, but the wasps and constant beggars were somewhat disturbing. But that's certainly the case in all nearby restaurants. All in all, a good place, definitely worth a visit :)

While the prices may be slightly higher compared to other places, they are still considered affordable for tourists. The restaurant's location over the river adds to its modern ambiance, making it a must-visit spot for anyone vacationing in Kosovo.
Excellent meal. I had steak (very tender) mushrooms, bread and ice cream parfait. Also a first-rate red wine (award-winning from Kosovo). The atmosphere is relaxing since it's near the stream running through the city, and the decor is classy. My waiter was very attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend!

Nice ambience reasonable service. Best was the meatballs, very tasty. The bread that came with it was hot and fluffy. The bruschetta that e ordered separately was pre cooked and hard and lukewarm. Confusing and unappetizing. Veg soup which the waiter recommended was a cream of mushroom base, quite tasty no doubt a decent amount of vegeta(as with other dishes) , but balanced reasonably well. Pasta despite saying it had tomatoes in the description lacked it, but its flavour was compellingly well balanced and we did leave satisfied. Overall price wasnt so bad either.
Jinn — Google review
Although the food is excellent, and the reason we always come here whenever we visit Prizren, the service was extremely rude. The waiter who worked yesterday afternoon responded arrogantly when asked what language we could communicate in and remained very unfriendly the entire time due to ethnic intolerance. I also work in hospitality, and such things should never happen if the owner wants to remain professional and well-visited. A huge disappointment.

Tiffany Restaurant is a hidden gem in Prizren, offering traditional Kosovar cuisine that's both delicious and affordable. The restaurant is centrally located in a quiet area, with an outdoor patio for dining. Despite being underrated, the food is amazing with hot and fresh bread, great dips, well-balanced elbasan, and delicious kaymak and peppers. The portions are small but hearty, featuring sheep cheese from a family farm and fantastic Turkish coffee.
Excellent meal. Sheep cheese from family farm, delicious salad and baked vegetables with only a little bit of meat, how I requested it. Good house wine and fantastic Turkish coffee. Very friendly and courteous service. Proprietor also showed me the lovely rooms he has for guests. I would highly recommend this! Also a beautiful outdoor patio to dine on.

Our local friends brought us to this traditional spot for lunch, and it did not disappoint. We enjoyed a variety of delicious meze—flavorful spreads, local cheeses, and an especially tasty baked sausage—all served with excellent bread. Nearly everything is prepared in their beautiful wood-fired oven, which adds a special touch. Great service and a nice location rounded out the experience.

we went there for lunch and we couldn’t make a better choice! There are a lots of traditional and non traditional options, all the meals are very big and tasty. We recommend the soup (even one portion is big enough for two people) and the traditional mantia. Service and atmosphere are nice too!

It’s a fancy place but hospitality there should have be better. Last night we had dinner there. We took some time to order food and we asked the waiter “please bring whatever you finish to us, don’t wait all done to bring us. Because one of our friend need to leave soon”, the waiter said “you don’t have time for food? It’s not my problem” man you are right but that’s not how you should say to your clients. And after checked bill we left the money on the table and walk out pass him and told him “the money on the table” then he said I can see it 😑…. This is not a good hospitality. Man you need to learn how to response to your clients!

One of the best dishes I've ever eaten. Thank you to the reviewer who recommended Elbasan pans. Wow, it's been nearly a month and still thinking of how amazing it was. Thanks also to the reviewer who let us know maps mightn't lead us to correct location and it's beside People restaurant, was so good we didn't miss it, they have a name sign but it's facing the other end of the street so you could miss it and then you would be missing out. We were shown to the lovely courtyard area and had wanted to try traditional dishes. As there was small portions available it meant we could try a few things to share. Highlights was the bread served with the Ajvar so good but the highlight and everything was very good was the Elbasan with veal. Wow amazing, loved it. The Elbasan is available with a few different meats. The prices were so reasonable too. We also had a coffee to finish and it's one of the best I had on our trip. Definitely recommend this place and especially the Ajvar and Elbasan dishes. Service was great too.

Ambient Restaurant in Prizren is a top choice for dining, offering amazing food and exceptional service. Located a bit further from the old town, it provides a quieter atmosphere just a short walk away. Visitors on a road trip through Albania and Kosovo found it to be an excellent dining option with great tasting dishes and fantastic service. The restaurant is highly recommended for its delicious traditional food, good wine selection, welcoming staff, and picturesque views of the town.
We had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The service was absolutely top-notch — friendly, attentive, and professional from start to finish. We tried several traditional dishes, and every single one was outstanding. The flavors were rich and authentic, and the presentation was beautiful. Highly recommended!

Long-established restaurant run by a big man in town. Tradition and modern technology coexist, and both Wi-Fi and power strips are available. The waiter has to carry a plate of food up and down a steep hill, which is the most back-breaking work and should be understood with more respect. # Kosovo
