Stone Bridge

Mentioned on
24 lists
In Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, you can explore the iconic Stone Bridge that spans the Vardar River. This historic city landmark is part of a scenic route that includes other notable attractions such as the Art Bridge, Fortress, and Mother Teresa Memorial House. The area also features the Old Bazaar and an old railway with a clock frozen at 05:17, marking the time when Skopje was struck by an earthquake in 1963.

Old Bazaar - Skopje Old Town

Mentioned on

Bazar
Sights & Landmarks
The Old Bazaar in Skopje is a lively and colorful area, showcasing the Ottoman architectural style with its mosques, markets, shops, and cafes. Visitors can immerse themselves in the city's culture by exploring museums like The National Archeology & Ethnology Museum and The Museum of Modern & Contemporary Art. Walking along the Kaldrma roads, also known as Sampietrini to foreigners, offers a glimpse into traditional Skopje with antique shops and quaint cafes.
The Old Bazaar in Skopje is a must-see destination filled with history, vibrant culture, and lively atmosphere. Wandering through the cobbled streets and maze-like alleys, you’ll discover everything from traditional shops and galleries to cozy coffee houses and excellent restaurants. The architecture blends Ottoman and Byzantine styles, with highlights like the Mustafa Pasha Mosque and historic inns, fully immersing visitors in centuries of heritage. Shopping here is a real experience—local vendors offer handmade crafts, antiques, and souvenirs at very reasonable prices. As you explore, the scent of grilled kebabs, fresh bread, and Turkish coffee fills the air. The area is also known for its friendly service and rich blend of Macedonian and Albanian cultures. The bazaar is not just about commerce; it’s a center for cultural events, nightlife, and people-watching. Whether you visit early in the morning for a quiet stroll or at sunset to see the stone streets glowing under golden lights, you’ll be captivated by the energy and charm of this part of Skopje. It’s well worth dedicating 2-3hours to truly soak it all in.
Hynek — Google review
The Old Bazaar in Skopje Old Town is a place that could be a charming dive into the city’s Ottoman past, but it ends up being an overwhelming and uncomfortable experience. The architecture is undeniably interesting, with its narrow cobblestone streets, old stone buildings, and remnants of a bygone era that give it a certain historical allure. The preserved shops, caravanserais, and traditional facades offer a glimpse into Skopje’s past, and for history buffs, this could be a highlight. However, the atmosphere is marred by issues that make it hard to enjoy. The area is overcrowded with gypsies, some of whom engage in persistent begging that feels intrusive and, at times, intimidating. This detracts significantly from the experience, turning a leisurely walk into a stressful navigation through constant solicitations. Additionally, the strong presence of Muslim culture, including frequent calls to prayer echoing from what feels like countless mosques, can be jarring for visitors not accustomed to it. While this is part of the area’s cultural fabric, the sheer volume and intensity can feel overwhelming, especially when combined with the chaotic crowds. The bazaar’s authenticity is a double-edged sword—it’s vibrant and bustling, but the lack of order and the aggressive street interactions make it feel less like a cultural gem and more like a disorganized mess. The absence of visible efforts to manage the crowds or maintain a welcoming environment for tourists only adds to the frustration. For every moment of architectural charm, there’s an equal dose of discomfort that makes the visit feel like a chore. In short, the Old Bazaar has the potential to be a fascinating stop in Skopje, but the intrusive begging and relentless noise from nearby mosques make it far less appealing. It’s a shame, as the historical elements deserve better presentation.
Hristiyan V — Google review
The Old Bazaar in Skopje was an unforgettable experience that truly captured the charm and spirit of the city. Walking through its narrow cobbled streets, I felt surrounded by history, with Ottoman-era architecture, old inns, and beautiful mosques creating a unique and timeless atmosphere. The blend of cultures and traditions gave the place a vibrant and authentic character. I loved browsing the small shops filled with traditional crafts, jewelry, and souvenirs, and the aroma of local food and coffee made the visit even more delightful. The lively yet welcoming atmosphere made it easy to spend hours exploring. The Old Bazaar was a perfect mix of history, culture, and everyday life—a highlight of my trip to Skopje.
Mohsin R — Google review
historic marketplace that has been a hub of trade and culture since the Ottoman period. Lined with mosques, hammams, and artisan shops, it blends Eastern and Western influences, offering a vibrant glimpse into the city’s multicultural past and living traditions. Enjoy walking and around but be aware - on Sunday only few shops and restaurants are open, most of the shops are closed.
Matej S — Google review
Visiting this place is like taking a trip back in time. It is one of the largest and oldest bazaars in the Balkans, dating back to the 12th century. The narrow cobblestone streets are filled with Ottoman-era architecture. The atmosphere is vibrant, full of craft shops, jewelers, cafes and restaurants. I found it great for a stroll, buying simple souvenirs and soaking up a genuine atmosphere.
Luana B — Google review
A very interesting place, calm and vibrant in the same time. Worth to give it some time, both during daytime and in the evening, not only for shopping or having a beer or a coffee, but for a slow walk, to enjoy its history and spirit.
Pirvu I — Google review
Charming bazar with great food, but watch the weather Visited on 26 October 2025 and spent about 2 hours exploring and trying food. The Old Bazar is a cute, small, historic area full of character, with lots of different things to try — perfect for wandering, taking in the architecture, and sampling local treats. We especially enjoyed some lokma at Lokmades Skopje, which was absolutely delicious! It was a bit rainy during our visit, and some roads had standing water due to poor drainage, so I’d suggest visiting on sunny days for a more comfortable experience. Overall, a must-visit spot for those wanting a taste of traditional Skopje and local flavors. ✅ Recommended.
Enrei P — Google review
Lovely area with an oriental charm and cozy cobbled streets. The atmosphere is warm and picturesque, especially in the evening with all the lights. It does feel quite touristy, though, and not exactly a must-see. Still, worth a short visit if you’re nearby.

Matka Canyon Trail

Mentioned on

Hiking area
Matka Canyon Trail is a nature lover's paradise just a short distance from the city center. Accessible by bus or tour, this green oasis boasts mountains and the ancient Matka Lake. Visitors can enjoy walking in nature, breathtaking views, and even take a boat trip for an unforgettable experience. The trail is relatively easy and suitable for all ages, making it perfect for a few hours of peaceful relaxation surrounded by stunning scenery.
It was a great short boat drive in a gorgeous canyon with natural beauties. Unfortunately wife did not preferer the longer trip to the caves but I heard they were great as well. We also walked the trail before the boat trip quite some distance. Definitely suggest to younger group do that but go prepared with food and beverages. BUT CARE ABOUT THE NATURE AND DO NOT LITTER. It is not difficult to bring them back and dump in a bin. The less litter means, other people also allows your foot steps.

A must-see if you’re visiting Skopje. Unfortunately the bus timetables are very reliable and the buses don’t seem to follow it, and taxis will haggle you aggressively while you are walking out or waiting for the bus. When you leave, make sure you walk further out to reach the bus stop. The trail itself is beautiful. It takes you along the water, and you get amazing views of the Canyon. Unfortunately at the end the trail ends abruptly, though opposite the cave you can’t see anything. Nonetheless the views are worth it! Even better if you can rent a kayak or take a boat.
Ethan P — Google review
It’s a must be there place when the temperatures are high. You can either take a boat, pedal boats, kayak or jump and dive from the rocks like all the locals. Make sure you go where the locals go to be safe when jumping into the water. So crystal clean and refreshing artificial lake. It has been built for the Dam that produce free energy for Skopje. By the side to the Dam you could see an opening where the soldiers camp to protected the Dam during the II World War as it has been a target to be destroyed which has never happened. The Cave is such a nice and cold stop with a fresh air, nature shaped walls and lake inside. Many of this cave is still not discovered as some places are very narrow. Very high steps leading to the cave, slippery surface and rails inside due to the nature of this place and some small uneven stones, so make sure you do not fall while admiring the cave. And use a torch 🔦 to see where you going while your eyes get used to the darkness. Not recommended for elderly or unfit people. I nearly made it 😂 (Only shows how unfit I am at the moment). However the boat trip is for everyone who loves being by the water. And after you can enjoy a drink or food at a local restaurant that serve fantastic food.
Angel J — Google review
The Matka Canyon is so beautiful. We went there with a tour (we got the tour from getyourguide website and we left the tour with pleasant memories) the weather unfortunately wasn't sunny but even with this kind of weather, the view was amazing. The boat trip was fun.
Büşra K — Google review
Very enjoyable trail, only 30 minutes by car from Skopje..we chose the st. Nikola trail…quite easy for us, it brings you to a church where you can also do a picnic, then you can continue after the church, going down and rescue a point where a boat will come and pick you up to go on the other part o the lake…to call the boat, you need to ‘ring a bell’ which is actually just a piece of wood and a piece of metal. The ride (just a couple of minutes) was free of charge but we left some money to the driver of course …we loved it there! Very much advised for some hours of hike in the nature
Margherita M — Google review
Great place to visit in Macedonia. You can do a boat tour that brings you to a cave, get inside and visit it. There is also a path to walk around the canyon but I recommend the boat.
Dorian A — Google review
wonderful place for chill-out, picnic, hiking, outdoor activities... didn't walk the entire trail, we went to the Cave with a boat. Yhe cave is astonishing and well preserved (a bit slippery, but worth the trip!)
Zoki G — Google review
A simple, yet astoundingly beautiful trail! I’d recommend seeing Matka Canyon by both foot and water as each offers its own unique perspective. There’s also some nice places to rest along the way and good food to be had at the beginning.

Skopje Fortress

Skopje Fortress, a 6th-century hilltop stone fortress, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city and river. This historic citadel has witnessed centuries of history and was built during the rule of Justinian of the Byzantine Empire. It has been occupied by various empires including the Bulgarian, Serbian, and Ottomans. The fortress features walking trails around its vast courtyard and ancient walls, providing visitors with stunning vantage points to admire the city below.
An experience to walk through centuries of history, unfortunately the fortress looks abandoned to make its historical importance more interesting. You can walk around inside and take great photos of the city. Free admission.
IAN M — Google review
This could be so much more of a tourist attraction for Skopje, but has been left to fall into disrepair and has no facilities anymore. Having said that the views are still worth the climb up! Even before you enter there is a great view of the stadium from the car park. Inside just head for the wall on the right and follow to the highest point overlooking the city and river. Here you can see all the sights from an elevated perspective and hopefully benefit from a cooling breeze too!
Idris E — Google review
One of the landmarks of the city, not greatly maintained. Offers old walls and amazing views but real pitty there is not even a small exhibition or tables that would tell you a bit more about its history and importance. Nice for a Saturday sunny walk but guess not more. Free entrance.
Matej S — Google review
This fortress, also called Kale, sits atop a hill and offers the best panoramic views of the city and the river. Entry is free, which is great. The walls are of Byzantine origin (6th century) and were expanded by the Ottomans. You can walk along large parts of the walls, which makes for incredible photos. The terrain inside is a bit uneven, so it's good to wear comfortable shoes. It's well worth it for the view and the history.
Luana B — Google review
It is located in a very beautiful spot that makes it visible from the whole city. You can walk on the walls of the fortress. However, inside the fortress you encounter an image of abandonment, the area is quite unkempt, with large grass everywhere and wild trees that have grown in every corner. Several of the wooden structures that exist for pedestrians are rotten, there are some modern buildings inside the fortress that we were informed that they were used as exhibition spaces but are now abandoned and in poor condition. The view of the city is wonderful, panoramic and unobstructed. I recommend a visit to the spot just for the walk on the walls and the wonderful view.
Κωνσταντίνος Π — Google review
well let me just start with the fortress: nice ancient walls are great for an afternoon stroll…the upkeep is quite poor but hey, I still liked my visit. beautiful views of the city and its architecture and attractions. on the other hand, we have the so called security team who let you in at the entrance… p e r v central station. run!
Antonia P — Google review
Beautiful fortress , just few mins walk away from Old Town. some of the area not maintained and lots of rubbish. Hope they can improve the maintanance. Overall a great visit if you in Skopje.

Nice viewpoints of city. Free entry , can walk around the fortress on the old walls, one entrance in and out .

Millennium Cross

Monuments & Statues
The Millennium Cross is a prominent monument located at the highest point of Vodno Mountain near Skopje, Macedonia. Standing at 66 meters tall, it was built in 2002 to commemorate 2,000 years of Christianity. Visitors can access the cross via a cable car and enjoy picturesque views of the city below. The area also offers opportunities for outdoor activities such as trekking on mountain trails and exploring historical landmarks like the Skopje Aqueduct.
It was good! Cable car was great, the attendants unlike in some other cities, like in Funchal and Santiago, with cable cars do not rudely ask you to ride with strangers or fill it up that you do not enjoy the ride! (In one of the photos it was filled up because they choose to and it was on the way down)
Charlie C — Google review
Currently closed so only able to ascend to the foot of the cross and not go inside. Area around is in need of some TLC, as there are limited facilities, a good deal of rubbish scattered on the mountainside and just portaloos if you need the toilet. Having said that the view is amazing on all sides and the ride up in the cable car is quick and great value (100MKD per person) so if you have a spare hour or two it's worth a visit.
Idris E — Google review
Impressive structure. Great view. There is food and drnk at the top. The tram ride up is great (windows could have been cleaner).
Roundglendive — Google review
Cool place with nice views. It's missing some toilets and maybe some lovelier cafes/restaurants. Still, definitely worth visiting for the views but also to see the HUGE cross close-up.
Vlad C — Google review
The cablecar is not working, so I chose to walk to the Millennium Cross. I started from near the central bus terminal. Walked to near Hotel Panoramika Design & Spa & I saw other trekkers, so I just followed them. After reaching Mid Vodno, go up the steps next to Zelenika beer garden. A nice but difficult mountain trek. It took me totally 2 hours, & it’s rewarding. Cable car provides nice views but trekking is an experience & challenge.
Connie W — Google review
You will need to use Cable Car to reach the top easily. It costs only 100 MKD (nearly 2 euros) for two way. There are options to hike but might take a lot of time. Be aware of the timing of Cable Car. Runs only every 30 mins. The top requires around 15-20 mins to visit unless you wanna hang out and enjoy the view for longer time.
Amiel S — Google review
Sad some "idiots" build something right next to the cross (comm tower) which kinda destroys the vibe. To get the best view of Skopje, take a right down a path next to the cable car building, which gives a great view of Skopje . But also go behind the cross, where u can find some platforms overlooking a beautiful valley
ForSeTi — Google review
Nice to go up with the cable car and magnificent view! Unfortunately the lift in the cross is broken down, and the place is empty and rundown. You can get something to drink but no more than that.

Mustafa Paša Mosque, situated on a hillside overlooking Skopje's Old Bazaar, is a well-preserved 15th-century mosque with stunning Islamic patterns and decorations reminiscent of those found in Turkey. The mosque features a peaceful rose garden and offers breathtaking views of the old town. Visitors can explore the interior when there are no religious activities, leaving their shoes at the entrance as per tradition.
Visiting the Mustafa Pasha Mosque in Skopje was a peaceful and inspiring experience. The moment I entered the courtyard, I was struck by the beauty of its Ottoman architecture and the calm atmosphere that surrounded the mosque. Its elegant dome, slender minaret, and intricate details made it one of the most stunning landmarks I saw in the city. Inside, the mosque was serene and beautifully decorated, with intricate patterns and a sense of history that added to its charm. The well-kept gardens around it offered a quiet place to pause and reflect, away from the busy city. The Mustafa Pasha Mosque was both spiritually uplifting and historically fascinating—a true gem of Skopje.
Mohsin R — Google review
Had a chance doing our prayer in this beautiful old mosque. The ablution is outside. The mosque is not that big. It's built in 1492 during ottoman empire. The mosque is largely intact from its original state and no additions have been made. It has 2 floors with narrow stairs where the second floor is for women prayer hall. However, if no crowd, the women can pray at 1st floor at the women prayer hall area.
Jamaliah S — Google review
Beautiful mosque to spiritually relax and do praying of afternoon while exploring the old town.
Habib — Google review
beautiful mosque which you can visit as a tourist so long as you are respectful and cover up. nice gardens as well. sometimes I like to think of a different life wherest I am but a small kitten, running around the gardens in a mosque, with no thoughts of particular importance, feeling the grace of god sustaining me day after day…just shower thoughts I guess
Antonia P — Google review
Well worth the hike up the hill. See Skopje Fortress while you are up here. Nice garden to sit in before or after.
Thomas T — Google review
Very nice mosque with Ottoman style architecture. Would recommend visiting after prayer times.

The imposant object of Ottoman architecture. It's a tourist friendly place. It's a soul calming place, and it has a very beautiful yard and amazing view on the Old Bazaar. The entrance is free.

It’s amazing to have such a beautiful mountain right now to the town. It’s a fairly easy hike to the top from the town centre and there’s a great mid point stop where you can get water/a beer. A real resource for the city.
Matthew P — Google review
Nice mountain views but not all is beautiful, garbare is all around and as someone who is not used to that I was shocked how city of Skopje does not take care of that in a spot where you should be one with nature. Also in winter time no restaurant or bar inside.
Sky W — Google review
Mount Vodno, located just southwest of Skopje, offers stunning city views, and you can access the top via cable car or hiking trails, with the Millennium Cross as a prominent landmark.
Lincoln I — Google review
Great at night the view is amazing but there are a lot of crashes people don’t know how to drive and you can find here homeless and drunk people
Ema K — Google review
Incredible natural beauty to admire and great access via trails or the cable car, however the summit is in need of some attention. We used the cable car to ascend to the summit and this was excellent. A modern well maintained system which is excellent value at 100MKD per person return. Others were walking or cycling on what looked to be very good paths and trails. There was even a downhill mountain bike course with start ramp at the top. It's just a shame that the facilities under the cross are all closed and rubbish is scattered around. Toilets too are just a cluster of dirty portaloos. Perhaps once the work on the new tower is complete they will sort these issues.
Idris E — Google review
Super place to see the city skyline. Next to the cross is now a tower under construction. The train up and back 100 MKD (around 1.6€) The mountain itself can be easily reached by bus number 25. A good place to go out on a sunny day without smog.

The Mother Theresa Memorial House in Skopje is a modern museum and memorial dedicated to the life and legacy of the renowned Catholic nun, Anjeze Gonxhe Bojaxhiu, also known as Mother Teresa. The building's architecture combines contemporary design with traditional elements and features an eclectic design along with a striking modern chapel.
This place is not something great or splendid like other tourist attraction. But that is the life of mother Theresa. It is small and free. It will remind her life. That’s why this place is so meaningful and symbolic.
Mothusi — Google review
The Mother Teresa Memorial House in Skopje was a deeply moving and inspiring place to visit. From the moment I arrived, I was touched by the peaceful atmosphere and the way the building beautifully honored her life and legacy. The architecture itself was striking, blending modern design with a sense of reverence that made the visit feel very special. Inside, I loved exploring the exhibits that showcased her journey, from her early life in Skopje to her incredible humanitarian work around the world. The personal items, photographs, and stories gave me a profound appreciation of her compassion and dedication. Visiting the Mother Teresa House was not only memorable but also uplifting—a true highlight of my time in Skopje.

A beautiful and inspiring place to visit in Skopje! The Mother Teresa Memorial House is free to enter and filled with information, photos, and exhibits about her life and work. It’s very well organized and peaceful, making it easy to learn about her incredible story. Highly recommended for anyone interested in history, culture, or just looking for a meaningful stop while exploring the city.

The house of Mother Teresa is a must visit place when you come to Skopje! It’s small and free entrance. There’s a souvenir shop at the first floor and exhibition hall at the second floor. At the third floor, a serene church is there! The entire visiting time is around 10-20 min!
Frank Y — Google review
Nice presentation of her life story both in Macedonia, Ireland and finally India. Her being awarded the Noble Peace Prize. Of her canonisation to her passing. On the way to the small chapel there are photos showing the many famous people she had met from the Reagans to Queen Elizabeth II.

Tribute to one of the biggest woman of 20th century. Who would say she was born in Skopje (of course Wikipedia..)… very nice small house, visit wont take long but gives you the basics about her life you should know. Entrance free, donations possible.

Nestled in the heart of Macedonia, the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle for Independence stands as a grand testament to the nation's quest for sovereignty. Officially inaugurated on September 8, 2011, this expansive museum spans over 6,400 square meters and is dedicated to chronicling the rich history of Macedonia's fight against Ottoman rule and its eventual independence from Yugoslavia in 1991.
Absolutely amazing museum! It’s huge, with three well-organized floors that follow a clear chronological timeline. The wax figures and artwork are incredibly detailed, and most of the info is translated into English, which was very helpful. The stained glass room at the end is stunning—definitely the highlight. Tickets were affordable and also do student discount
Bilaal K — Google review
This is a great place to understand part of the history of the great Macedonia. The ticket is around 5 or 8 euros. There's access to bathrooms. It's amazing to see the realistic of the wax figures, the flags, the attires, etc. There are original parts of the wars as well (war cars, cameras, helmets, paper letters, Utensils, maps and so on). It's definitely a place to visit.
Jhon S — Google review
The atmosphere of the museum was wonderful. If you’re interested in different cultures, this is definitely a place worth visiting. It features wax figures and historical information. I spent about two hours exploring the entire museum from start to finish, and it was absolutely worth it. At the entrance, they mentioned a student discount in the summer of 2025, the student ticket was around 120 denars. If you’re in the area and looking for a place to explore, I highly recommend it.
Yaren — Google review
I don’t often write reviews, but I have to make sense of one of the strangest museum experiences I’ve ever had. Starting with some history, this museum was built as part of the controversial 2014 project, which many Macedonians described to me as a nationalist project by a conservative government seeking to put their parties mark on the city after their rejection from NATO due to the naming dispute with Greece. Many reviews describe this place as a Madame Tussaud’s of Macedonian revolutionaries, that is true and lends the place an eerie feeling, as many of the figures are only denoted with very brief plaques that seem to assume the visitor already has a decent knowledge of Macedonian history. The only actual antiques to be found are an extensive and very interesting collection of various guns, weapons, and artillery, along with many historical documents that are often not translated into English. Otherwise, the huge halls covered with massive mythologizing paintings feel reminiscent of a certain Soviet bravado, made more curious by the fact that nearly every painting I could find with a date was created in 2012. Generally the dates of the paintings are not clearly displayed, which feels like a very purposeful emission. I don’t know how to quantify this experience in a number of stars but overall I would say it is a place worth visiting not necessarily for the history but for watching an exercise in a nation-building “antiquisation”. If you’re only here for a couple days, you can skip it.
Erin N — Google review
This is not a museum, but a truly unique experience. The organizer of this place really deserves a huge thank you because they have conveyed the history of Macedonia in a very striking and memorable way. It is one of the must-see places when visiting Skopje.

Really informative museum about the struggles of the Macedonian people in their fight to establish their country and protect their culture and language. I recommend everyone visiting Macedonia visit this museum to understand this important history. The museum is well set up and easy to follow around. Do give yourself at the least 2 hours.

Mexican restaurant
Amigos Mexican Restaurant & Bar in Skopje offers a vibrant and authentic Mexican dining experience. The colorful interior, adorned with murals and artifacts, sets the stage for a fun and flavorful meal. Despite its location in North Macedonia, Amigos delivers an array of authentic Mexican dishes such as tacos, burritos, and fajitas accompanied by zesty salsas and refreshing cocktails.
Very delicious food. Service is also great. Ambience is just perfect. We had all vegetarian dishes and they were all awesome. Refer pics for reference. Would love to come again.

Pretty good menu with good dishes, this time the toast goes for the Cobb salad 🥗 which was very delicious. Mango juice lemonade was also a hit. Visit them in the center of Skopje in one of their first locations and enjoy Tex Mex food and bites.
Ivona — Google review
Great Mexican food in the centre of Skopje! We enjoyed our last night here. We shared the fajitas with beef, which were amazing and definitely more than enough for 2! We also had some red wine, which was great too. The waiter that served us was the nicest guy. My boyfriend asked for some lemon for on his fajitas, and he brought us a huge whole lemon, cut in 4. We also had the guacamole which was super good as well. Definitely recommend going here if you’re looking for Mexican cuisine in Skopje.
Noor R — Google review
One of the best restaurants we tried in Skopje. Simple but amazing Mexican food, very fast service, great friendly staff!! And food super delicious. Loved it!!!
Matej S — Google review
Amigos in the Center is a small place with limited space, but unfortunately, that’s one of the few things going for it. We ordered the Nachos Enchiladas—beef and chicken—but they tasted nothing like authentic Mexican food. Both were severely lacking in flavor and definitely overpriced for what we got, rating about 1.5 out of 5 each. The chocolate frita was also disappointing; it looked nothing like the photo in their advertisement and was extremely hard and overly sugary. The churros didn’t impress either. The service was another low point. We waited 50 minutes for the nachos, and when my girlfriend politely asked the waitress about the delay, she responded with a rude, irritating attitude, saying “I will tell you now where it is” in a very unpleasant tone. Despite the small size of the restaurant, when we tried to order a second round of drinks, no one was available to take our order, and we ended up waiting about 15 minutes just to pay. Throughout the meal, the waitress was consistently unprofessional, slamming food down on the table and being generally disrespectful. Given the price and quality, the experience was more than disappointing—especially having to wait so long and deal with impolite staff.
Simon K — Google review
Love this Mexican restaurant! Really good food, nice staff and a great spot! Also the prices were nice. We ate the nacho’s, they were perfect. This is how nachos should be. And we had the nacho enchiladas with grilled veggies. Good taste, lot of chicken and cheese🤩. We would like to take this place at home😁.
Gwen S — Google review
If youre looking for good food with caring staff and a warm environment then this place is for you. Kiko was amazing, super friendly and helpful. It's Thursday and they had the gourmet burger in the grill today and I'm not exaggerating but it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Amazing place. I would come back if I wasn't going to Ohrid tomorrow. Would highly recommend!
Michael S — Google review
Super tasty! Great margaritas- the Mexican food is not the most traditional If you’re from a place with great Mexican food, but it hits the spot! We got quesadillas and slow cooked pork tacos and enjoyed them

Everything was delicious, the experience was awesome. the recommended wine and food was so tasty and each dish 🤤. We'll come back again. I celebrated my wife's birthday, It's an excellent place for celebrating special occasions. Bobby was our waiter, he was very kind and attentive. Thanks so much.
Carlos T — Google review
The best restaurant in Skopje! My husband reserved a table to celebrate my birthday and it was a truly wonderful experience. Igor recommended a wine and the perfect dishes to pair it with one of the best suggestions we’ve ever had. Excellent value for money. Our waiter, Bobby, gave us the best service: always attentive and kind. We enjoyed it so much that we came back two more times, and every visit was just as amazing. We highly recommend the paella, the seafood dishes, and their delicious desserts. They are truly excellent at what they do. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit, you won’t regret it!
Daniela C — Google review
Very nice place with good food. Previously had the steak and today with my son the pizza.
Travis S — Google review
One of the worst experiences in service. Came for breakfast and ordered a platter which contained pork meat and it was not even mentioned in the menu or by the waiter. When asked the waiter one said its pork the other one said it was chicken. I have requested to change it and questioned them why it was not mentioned in the menu the kind of meat it is? where in another platter it was mentioned beef prosciutto. The server told me “you should have asked?” In a country where a lot of people dont eat pork, you should always mention. If you care to mention “gluten free” you can also mention other allergens. Besides all of this, the type of conversation from waiters was very impolite. He also charged the platter which was not consumed and when asked why is that he said “we cant do anything”. Such businesses do not deserve to stay in the market and beside such people shouldn’t event be employed. They were not even sorry.
Art — Google review
A Macedonian told me it was a top restaurant of Skopje. The woodwork in the ceiling is true art! The food is great and service was attentive and with a smile! Go enjoy!
Brad F — Google review
Forza used to be so much better in the past, now I think the service has gotten worse while the already high prices went even higher. We had a reservation for three people, and they didn't even bother us to show us where we can sit, the lady just said "sit wherever you like". Asked for an English menu, got two in Macedonian, and since no one was paying attention to me for over 5 minutes I had to stand up and go to the entrance to ask for an English menu. The food was okayish but not warm, nothing worth the money that you pay. Two waiters changed during our visit, none of them was paying attention as they should. The only positive thing was that the toilets were clean, other than that I don't if I'd recommend this place, maybe for coffee.

It used to be a nice place to eat pasta, steaks, pizza and salads in Skopje. Last 3 visits however, show very opposite picture.. Unfortunately today I wanted to give another chance to this place and ordered “Spaghetti with shrimps” for a dinner.. you can see on my pictures (attached) how the pasta looked like.. It was horrible.. How can you serve your client pasta like this? These spaghetti were stuck and probably boiled during the day and I got some leftovers that were just warmed in microwave and added to the shrimps.. The Cook should clearly get some lessons how to cook pasta. And this is already for the 3rd time I’m getting such disappointment at your place guys. Perhaps is the time to hire some proper cook and start delivering a Good food , not just on pictures and menu but in the reality too.. I left hungry, angry and disappointed. This review is to show the Restaurant owners tat something is going wrong with the personnel, so perhaps it will give a better idea..
R O — Google review
Just eaten the BEST squid ( Lignje) we have ever had anywhere. Cheese cake dessert was good too. Not the cheapest place in town but more than reasonable given the surroundings and food ( NOT if one is a beer drinker, prices extortionate for beer) although there is a huge choice of wines at reasonable prices. Shame about the service which can be a little hit or miss. Would be nice to have the odd smile from the ( Majority) of staff. Perhaps it was the weather? (Extreme Thunder, lightning, rain and hail) Made another visit (six days later) Service even worse than before and STILL not one member of staff able to raise a smile. Perhaps it was the weather? ( Quite Hot)

Restaurant Skopski Merak is a renowned establishment in the heart of Skopje, offering an authentic experience of traditional Macedonian cuisine. The cozy interior provides the perfect ambiance to savor local delicacies, ranging from flavorful appetizers and famous Macedonian salads to slow-roasted ribs and pastrmajlija, a popular pizza-style dish cooked in a wood-fired oven.
Fantastic food and fantastic service from our server Phillip. The food was great, we had Caesar Salad, a casserole in a bread bowl and a great bottle of red wine which was recommended to us. Really well priced, they always say eat where the locals eat.....and this was the place. Absolutely unreal. Thank you
A M — Google review
An absolute gem in Skopje. Reservations are strongly recommended. We had some great local dishes and some of the local liquor too. The staff are amazing and we loved every moment of our visit.
Susmith G — Google review
Oh man, the food at this place is absolutely incredible. They have an amazing selection of dishes including traditional food. There are so many dishes that are must to try such as the grilled meats and in particularly the Pastrmajlija!! You must visit this place! 🤤
Nick N — Google review
We had an absolutely delightful experience at this gem of a restaurant in Skopje! The food was nothing short of spectacular and also the service was equally impressive. The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making our dining experience memorable. The ambiance was cozy yet vibrant, perfectly complementing the lively spirit of Skopje. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone craving delicious food and top-notch service. Highly recommended!

Amazing traditional food. Very good service, super fast and professional. The food is extraordinary, from the meat to the salads and starters. Definitely take one of tehe traditional dishes - the meat is really tender and well cooked, no bones or pieces of fat. Great atmosphere with live music - not loud at all and very entertaining.
Paola B — Google review
We had a really nice time. The food was great, the service perfect and supportive. We asked for gluten free food and ate very good, without any gut problem.
Luzela L — Google review
Food was delicious. I loved the hot arabic bread and the trio mix from the starters. Everything was tasty. The lamb pot was a little too oily and fat but still tasty.

Nestled in the heart of Skopje, Vodenica Mulino is a hidden gem known for its delicious Macedonian cuisine and romantic ambiance. The restaurant's charming setting by the Vardar River provides a delightful backdrop for a memorable dining experience. With an elegant vintage interior and a charming garden with a small pond and beautiful bridge, this restaurant offers one of the most romantic dining atmospheres in Skopje.
Amazing Italian food in Skopje, that's the way I would describe my meal at Vodenica Mulino. The place itself has a beautiful interior, the staff is nice and they have a big wine collection to choose from. I had the seafood pasta tagliatelle and I would recommend it to anyone. It was very rich, well seasoned and came with a good portion size. The mixed cheese platter was very good aswell. Overall had a wonderful experience and would love to come back
Bryan J — Google review
I think they did a good job making Italian food. If you never had any Italian food then you will be satisfied. Their lava cake was delicious. They had good service. The atmosphere is great, but I wish they had a separate section for smoking. I had to move because the guy behind me was smoking cigar. But this seems to be everywhere in Skopje and hopefully they change this.
Aria B — Google review
I must say, i had one of the best pasta there. So much flavor from the tomatoes and bacon, smokey, incredible. No fancy styling, just really good food. Restaurant has large seating area, outside but covered, with nature decoration, pond and a mill wheel. Very nice atmosphere. Only one issue was the staff, which was unattentive even though we were pretty much the only people there.
Marek F — Google review
A beautiful restaurant with a calming outdoor area for traditional dining in Skopje. We dined on a very warm day, but with the breeze and fans, it was comfortable outdoors. They have a wonderful wine list and the food was excellent, service was attentive with great staff. Started out with a lovely fresh salad, followed by perfectly cooked Tagliata, it was delicious. The restaurant was definitely a local hotspot and full of businessmen and was the place to be. Definitely recommend, very good pricing, a little above most, but absolutely worth it.
Sal S — Google review
This place is just phenomenal. We came here on a recommendation from a friend from Skopje and we were amazed with what this restaurant offers. Authentic ambient, beautiful terrace, traditional food, great red wine,.. we highly recommend it and we will come again. Many many thanks!
Sanja M — Google review
Pretty much every single dish made here were fantastic. It is no small wonder that the review ratings are so high. Our party sat outdoors to enjoy the cool spring evening. The table was very large, and readily capable of supporting all the food we ordered... And boy did we order. Slice of pecorino cheese. Yum. Salads. Fresh. Mussels in white wine sauce. Plump. Grilled prawns. Heavenly. Baby cow steak. Juicy and tender. Parma prosciutto. Authentic. Rakia. Smooth and strong. Coffee. Robust and tasty. Need I go on? The garden setting created a great atmosphere for our group. The waiter was competent and speedy with orders and refills. He was stunned by how much we ate. Come eat here. Your won't regret it.

Good food and great service
J L — Google review
The restaurant has very good reviews, so we definitely wanted to try it. We didn't make a reservation, but we could get a table. I wasn't very pleased with the waitress woman lack of kindness, maybe we got her in the wrong moment. We waited for a menu maybe 10 minutes, while nobody looked at us. But the waiter guy was friendly and smiley. And the food is AMAZING. I saw a review about a Sicilian pasta, so I didn't hesitate, it was my choice. It was really, really good. My friend chose a pasta with shrimps, also good. Its a bit more expensive than the restaurant next to it, I don't say this one is better, but it certainly fancier. Both are great, visit both!

Gostilnica Dukat

Restaurant
Gostilnica Dukat is a charming restaurant in North Macedonia that offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, reminiscent of a family gathering. The menu features an array of traditional Macedonian dishes, including the famous riblja corba cooked on a wood-burning stove. Guests can also enjoy homemade bread and makalo, a potent garlic sauce. The rustic ambience is enhanced by live local music and friendly staff, making diners feel right at home.
One of the best restaurants in Skopje. It is in a great location and it is easy to find this restaurant. The food here is excellent. Their salmon fish stew is delicious and it is the brand of the restaurant. Maybe the prices are higher than other restaurants, but it's worth it. The service and atmosphere are also excellent. There is a paid parking lot in front of the restaurant that costs 30 MKD for 1 hour. The salmon fish stew costs 220 MKD.
Spase M — Google review
The restaurant is worth a walk from the city center, we really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. I am still giving five stars, also my return money was wrong (honest mistake, not on purpose), but still it felt weired.
M. ( — Google review
The food and service were top notch. The salad, mushrooms, beans, and pork ribs were awesome. Definitely would recommend. This is our second time around with this restaurant and it did not disappoint.
Steve C — Google review
One half of the restaurant is for smokers, the other is not, but if you are a non smoker you still smell it. The food was really good and affordable. The only thing, their service is really slow. There where a lot of waiters but it took them 15min to give us the Menue and we waited another 20min to pay.
Amelie P — Google review
We ate very well-cooked, tasty meats. The appetizers were generally a bit spicy and garlicky. If you want Turkish raki, you have to order it as “Yeni.” I recommend you try the Macedonian cheese that is similar to old kashar. Fried zucchini sticks are also quite delicious.
Yasemin T — Google review
High end restaurant. I had my wedding reception here many years ago and it looks like it has been renovated a lot since then to a more modern but still traditional style. I was invited to try out the Chorba here, a traditional stew of either chicken, meat or fish. Meat was my choice, served from a single portion traditional pot (actually more than one portion) served with fresh rolls and home made condiments and pickled chillies. The Chorba was excellent and the staff were pleasant and attentive. Definitely come here again.
Micasa G — Google review
Zucchini was great but meats are average local beer is also delicious 😋

We were just in Skopje for one night and was pleasantly surprised. Good food, good atmosphere, good music and super friendly staff. They even called me a Taxi and made sure we went into the right taxi before saying goodbye. Fantastic value for money.

Restaurant
Restaurant Fitness House is a haven for health-conscious individuals, offering a diverse menu of fitness nutrition to cater to pre- or post-workout meals. Far from being restrictive, the colorful array of soups, salads, wraps, pasta, burgers, smoothies and guilt-free desserts exudes positive vibes. With an emphasis on both delicious and healthy options, this spot is renowned for its delectable chicken steak and numerous choices for vegetarians and vegans.
Great food if you’re fitness orientated and count and manage calories and macros within your dietary needs. Hard to find any healthy food in Macedonia so this place was a god send. Both locations are 5/5. Protein waffles are my absolute favourite. Could eat them daily, ten times. Service is great.
Nick J — Google review
As loyal customers who came every other day, we expected at least basic quality and respect, but instead, for four days in a row I was served raw, undercooked food. The last time, things got even worse – a mouse came out from under the couch while we were eating. On two separate occasions I was served raw food, and yet they still charged me for it. On top of that, the fries are cheap frozen ones with no taste at all. I am extremely disappointed and disgusted – this place clearly does not care about hygiene, quality, or its guests. I would not recommend it to anyone.
Dragana L — Google review
Food is really good, but you are playing lottery for takeaway. Might be 5 minutes late, might be 25. They need better time management in the kitchen and better communication between staff and with customers.
Jovana J — Google review
Food is fine and the staff is cool, but pickup timing is very unreliable. More than half the time my order is 15+ minutes late. They need a better system in the kitchen or at least be more accurate when telling when the order will be ready
Martin S — Google review
It used to be my favourite place to eat since 2018. Now it’s totally different story. Food gets less tastier, smaller portions in some cases - but prices go up. You don’t get what you pay for anymore.. very sad story
R O — Google review
Burger was okay but nothing special, the salad was good but again nothing special. Tomato soup on the other hand I would not recommend. It was cold (it was not written on the menu it would be served cold) and seemed to have a significant taste of soda/ sparkling water. Made feel very bloated and gave the soup a weird taste. Overall, wouldn’t mind coming back for the salad but otherwise not so great. Place itself was clean and with nice and friendly people working.
Victoria S — Google review
Very bad experiance, ordered it through Wolt and I had i written that I am ordering chicken wrap WITHOUT olives! I picked up my delivery everything was good with that and when I opened my order the whole wrap was with OLIVES!!! Even taking out the olives didn't helped bc the whole wrap had the smell from the olives. Never ever getting something from there.
Matea S — Google review
I’ve ordered the keto pancake many times and I know exactly what it’s supposed to look and taste like, including the portion size and nutritional values you promote. The last one I received was literally half the size of what I usually get yet the price remained 330 MKD. That’s not just unprofessional it’s misleading. It is not possible for two completely different portion sizes to have the same calculated nutritional values. So either you’re lying about the serving size, or you’re lying about the nutrition facts. Either way, it’s unacceptable for a place that claims to be focused on fitness and healthy eating.

Restaurant „Old House“ is a renowned dining spot in Skopje, housed in a beautiful traditional 19th-century building. The interior exudes old-world charm with Macedonian folklore items adorning the walls and traditional music creating an authentic ambiance. Known for its impeccable service, the restaurant offers a menu featuring a variety of local specialties from authentic Macedonian cuisine.
Don't miss this spot when in Skopje. Best food I've had in the Balkans in 4 weeks. Superb. Zucchini chips, stuffed vine leaves, casserole all excellent. Tucked away but central. Peaceful big classy traditional restaurant. Id go back in a flash. Reasonably priced for quality.

What an incredible experience! The melted cheese is to die for and pastrmajlija was delicious! The whole interior of the place is peaceful, with inside fountain, traditional Macedonian clothing displayed and the traditional music was very pleasant to listen to. The staff are very warm, welcoming but also incredibly professional and attentive. The toilets are clean and well maintained. J cannot recommend this place enough!
Alo I — Google review
They had some really good food at reasonable prices. Service was fast and very good. There was a physical menu, but they also had a QR code on the table where when scanned, you can see the dishes in photos with slightly more information than the physical menu. Wi-fi was available as well. Ambience was also pretty good with lots of natural light coming in from the roof which had some parts that let sunlight in and from the terrace which had glass doors if they needed to be closed. However, do note that because there are a lot of smokers and ventilation isn’t so good, it may be a bit uncomfortable for some non-smokers.
ARBN — Google review
Firstly thank you for finding us a table with no reservation. This restaurant is fantastic, the food and drink is amazing, the house wine was fantastic. Would definitely return. Had the tuna salad and a chicken caesar along with the Pork Pastrmajlija! Fantastic! Would definitely return regularly if I was local.
Brian D — Google review
Absolutely delicious food, worth every cent! Only 7’ walk away from Holiday Inn (where I’m currently staying) I went for early lunch, based on the very positive reviews. I chose the baked beans and veal casserole with okra and other veggies, this latter was just so nice! Portions are quite big and filling. Total ‘damage’ with a big bottle of sparkling water and an espresso MKD 1,080. Nice ambience (although be ready to have some neighbours smoking, but apparently it’s perfectly allowed in N. MKD) super friendly and professional service by all the waiters. Cards accepted, 100% recommended!
Stefano G — Google review
The best restaurant for me in Skopje. The price might be a little more than other areas, but it was great food and drinks while I was there for lunch. I had the Macedonian salad, which was fresh and crispy. The garlic bread was really nice with great flavors( i live in Korea and it is sweet here 🫣). The main dish was the casserole and the meat was cooked perfectly and had a really nice rich taste. My server played my food for me.and took care of me. However I did end up waiting a long time, and they apologized and said they forget me. So they gave me a dessert on the house so I got the homemade apple strudel with icecream. It was really nice and I wasn't in a rush so everything was ok. The weather was hot, like 36c, so i was happy to have a beer and rest inside. The inside is very traditional in style and lovely place to eat. They have a breakfast menu until 1pm! And the place was pretty busy. I would come back here again! Just remember smoking is allowed inside, so if thats not good for you, eat outside or in the area with the open doors.
Frazer T — Google review
It is authentic and hidden gem restaurant in Skopje which provides Macedonian and Mediterranean cuisine. The prices are a little bit high, but worth it to see ambiance and service. I tried famous old pot as the server suggests. It was great and salty. I couldn’t finish by one person. And they recommended rakija which is Macedonian alcoholic drink.

Visitors can enjoy well-cooked Macedonian food with fresh ingredients and excellent service. The menu features traditional dishes such as slow-cooked meat and fresh salads.
Great service, Great food which was served with a smile. Our waiter was superb, I think he may have been a supervisor as he was in a black shirt. The spit roast Lamb melted in your mouth. A local place to eat which lives up to expectations, get there early to get a seat.
A M — Google review
We came here on a rainy day during prom season at 1pm. Whole restaurant empty with only one table occupied. We come in and I see the owner in his natural habitat on one of the tables closely observing everything. We ask for a table and the server says they have a prom celebration at 8pm. We politely say we are not trying to spend 7 hours at the restaurant. The owner says they can give us a table. So we got sat right next to the other table, cramped into a small area where the servers had barely room to move. Food was great but our server forgot multiple items and drinks, then my mom found hair in two of her dishes, so save to say their quality was not on an acceptable level. The server was very apologetic. Then as we are seating there, we noticed their roof is leaking into our food. Absolutely unacceptable. We told the server and he said there is nothing he can do. We just did not get a positive experience at all.
Aleks R — Google review
Had a lovely dinner here!! The service was great just like the atmosphere. I personally loved the pork suflaki. My boyfriend had the chicken suflaki which was a little dry in my opinion. The tsatsiki was also great, but lacked a little bit of garlic for my liking. The live music was so fun and our waiter was a great guy! The food came out pretty fast and the prices were great. I would recommend checking out this place!
Noor R — Google review
Solid 4 stars! I went in with no reservations and no expectations and the food was great, the service was speedy, atmosphere also good. No complaints from me, its worth a try if the other restaurants are full.
John C — Google review
If one excludes the wonderful musicians who play and sing, everything else, the food and service are at very mediocre levels. Its location is very good, but it is a vast thing that does not create the warmth and atmosphere you want in such a store. The waiter who had taken care of us was willing and polite, however, from what we saw, the rest of the staff did not pay any attention to you. I would recommend it only for its music
Βασίλης Κ — Google review
The food is far below Balkan standards and expectations, especially when it comes to portion size. Almost every dish felt over-torched, and the servings were extremely small. To make things worse, there was no bread provided — without any notice. When comparing the overall quality to the prices, the balance is highly unfevorable.
Mladen — Google review
Cannot recommend. We were welcomed in a friendly and cheerful manner. Drink order were taken very quickly. Then, the waiting began. The drinks took a very long time. Instead of draught beer, we only got bottled beer after a long wait time. The wait time for the food was enormous, and the food itself was cold when it finally arrived. Additionally, two of our orders were missing.

The Kamnik Winery is a top notch winery with amazing wines. The staff is professional and the presentation is excellent. The food is superb and the wine pairing dinner was pure pleasure. The wines are long lasting and represent terroir in the best way. Highly recommend visiting this place if you're staying at the Hunter's Lodge!
Thanks Jane for a superb tasting and excellent knowledge about wine and Kamnik winery! We enjoyed it very much.

We booked very easily with e-mail, very responsive. The place is conveniently located near Skopje, important winery. The location has multiple attractions for staying and spending time. We had a short tour with explanations on wine making process. Then we had the actual tasting of 5 wines, according to what we chose. The wines were good and nice presentation. We felt hurried to move on wine by wine on the tasting part which was the single negative point, everything took 45 minutes, but overall a good experience. Price was somewhere mid, depending on wine selection, but no appetizers included. By the way, some neutralizer is required, maybe bread only or crackers.

One of the most pleasant experiences I have had at a winery, personal experience, great hospitality from our guide, very handy information, brings a good smile to the enjoyment of tasting. Highly recommended, I brought 4 bottles today as I found their wine to be unique and a step above the rest. I hope to see plenty online or overseas in the future.

Amazing experience at wine tasting! Jane (our guide) was very knowledgeable and hospitable. Great wines! Highly recommended. P.S. make sure you book your tour in advance as weekends and evenings are not easily available. We book ours almost 3 weeks ahead
Olha K — Google review
We actually drove up here to try to book a wine tasting and see the estate. The only thing they offer is that you’re allowed to eat at their restaurant and pay full price for wine by the glass — that’s the way you can taste their wine before buying bottles. Strange. But the food was good, and the service was fine. Still, it’s odd that when you want to buy wine for a larger amount, you have to go through that process. In the end, we bought much less than we had planned, since it was an impossible way to taste their wine. But again, not at all the experience we thought we could have. The website is down, and it really feels like the place doesn’t really care for tourists coming to buy their wine.

Wonderful hosts, we had 7 course wine pairing dinner which lasted for 5 hours. It was a pure pleasure. The staff is excellent, presentation amazing and food superb. We had the honour of tasting some magnums and double magnums of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon from 2007. Wines are amazingly crafted, long lasting and represent terroir in best way. I highly recommend visiting this place

Four Restaurant

Mentioned on

Restaurant
Four Restaurant is a fanciful, chic establishment that offers an eclectic mix of Mediterranean-inspired cuisine and cosmopolitan fare. The menu features a variety of fresh pasta dishes, as well as some delicious starters like Korean chicken. The restaurant has a lively atmosphere and is always bustling with customers.
Really tasty food in a cozy and especially quiet atmosphere. The Service is really professional and the food was great. I must say that the prices are quite expensive for North Macedonia and that the portions were rather small. Variety of food is great and Veggie is also available. Would still recommend :)

Very disappointing place, especially if you see the pictures beforehand. I’ve been at this place for lunch and it was super empty. I took a seat outside on the terrace and they old me to move as this part is reserved for people (the whole terrace part with more than 12 tables was fully empty and no signs of reservations have been there). After I changed space, I could get started on checking the food. The variety they offer is good, even though the pricing isn’t reasonable in a lot of ways. The food was disappointing from start to end: The Greek salad was with a “twist”, turning it into something really strange. Combining it with baked eggplant and cooked eggs and strange dressing surely isn’t something that should be called a Greek salad. The soufflé with mushrooms was good and something unique, but the mixed mushrooms have been champignons only. The worst of all was the homemade pasta. Is was not only overcooked, but so overcooked that you could use it like a cream for your bread. In fact. I couldn’t even feel the texture of pasta anymore. For me, this place is surely meant to be avoided.

I ordered the Moscow Mule cocktail. Instead i got a mix of vodka and Schweppes (or some other soft drink) which was very disappointing. The food was excellent, we really liked everything that we ordered, especially the turkey and the deep fried polenta. The restaurant is nicely decorated and cozy. It creates a warm welcoming atmosphere. The menu has a lot to offer, so i'm planning on coming back in the future.

Absolutely amazing! Service is great, food ecen better, prices are maybe a little above average restaurant prices in Skopje but, 100% worth every denar ;) Staff is very professional and they are communicating on serbian, macedonian, bulgarian, greek, english,... Ambient is out of this world, filled with cozy furniture, books,... Must visit!

I did not eat here. Just had a beer and relaxed with a friend. The beer was absolutely not cold enough, and it was advertised on the menu as 0,5 liters. I got a 0,3 bottle. I confronted the waitresses about both issues. She just smiled... Perhaps the restaurant is saving on both electricity and alcohol.

Upscale cozy restaurant along the river that offers very good selection of dishes that you won't find in other restaurants around town. The dish presentation was great. My tuna steak came out well done instead of medium or medium rare, which is what I would expect for this type of dish (the server didn't ask for cooking instructions). The service was slow considering the number of servers they had working. Overall it was a good experience.
Goran D — Google review
I’ve had this Korean chicken a few times already and it’s always been delicious. This dish is a appetizer but it is a large portion. I also ordered a plate of rice to compliment the dish that was quite delicious. I will be coming back again to try out the other dishes on the menu.

Skopje International Airport

International airport
Airport
Skopje International Airport, also known as St Paul the Apostle, is located about 7 km from the city center of Ohrid. It offers connections to various destinations such as Amsterdam, Belgrade, Brussels, Tel Aviv, Zurich, Basel and London. While most airlines operate during the summer season only, the airport remains open year-round. The airport is described as small but efficient and swift with quick passport control for non-EU passports and minimal wait times at security and immigration.
A Calm, Clean, and Lovely Airport Experience ✨ Skopje Airport truly exceeded my expectations! Even when our flight was delayed, the communication was clear and timely, which really helped reduce stress. The airport was spotless – and I have to say, the toilets smelled like a sweet forest! I was so impressed. The whole atmosphere was calm and quiet – no rushing, no impatient crowds, just peaceful energy throughout. It felt so different from most airports I’ve been to. I also loved the thoughtful little details, like the charging points for a more relaxed wait, and the duty-free shops, which had a wide selection and very friendly staff. A fantastic experience overall – well done Skopje Airport! 👏✈️💛

Tidy little airport. Easy access and smooth security and boarding. Check in open 2 hours before flight scheduled flight, so don't come earlier. Friendly staff and clean facilities. Some good cafe and restaurant, also good business lounge after the passports.
Habib — Google review
Small, good and nicely arranged airport. There is a good selection of restaurants, but I think they are few and the selection needs to be expanded. The customs officers could be a little more smiling, and not as if a stone had fallen on their heads. The airport is easy to finding.
Spase M — Google review
Skopje’s airport is small making it a little more calm compared to major airports. Flying in from Athens on a small plane, we boarded a bus and we were standing in line for passport control in no time. There are two baggage carousels, restrooms, and a few outlets. Once you exit customs, the space is small and easy to navigate. There are taxis waiting outside.

One of the worst experiences with on ground staff in all our travelling experiences on 22/09/2025 at counter 4 at the departure hall. This person was unfriendly, rude, unhelpful & aggressive with her tone, until our family member who’s a true Skopje local, stepped in & spoke to her in the manner that she spoke to us in. She would not check in our baggage collectively as her excuse was that it’s 2 seperate bookings. Yes, but we are also 2 people travelling with 3 suitcases, with 30kgs each & a collective of 60kgs, which Turkish Airlines confirmed we can combine our luggage weight, despite being seperate bookings, as we are both travelling together, sitting together & made the purchase at the same time on the same card & at the time of purchase, it was 2 pax travelling on the same booking. She checked in my husband’s luggage but refused to check in mine, my husband was born in Skopje. So what was the problem of checking in my luggage on my booking if we can’t combine the weight? Was it because I’m not a local? She had not even asked us to place the other bags on the belt before making this decision. Despite our explanation that we were able to check in all luggage’s collectively on our way into Europe as we had the same seperate bookings as it was a return ticket that we purchased, she refused to listen to us, told us she isn’t a Turkish airline staff to deal with this, kept saying No and she just can’t do it & gave us a hard time by being unhelpful & rude. She had no name badge or lanyard on her to identify herself as a staff member. Her excuse was that she isn’t a Turkish airline staff & can’t check in our bags together because it was seperate bookings. We went to a seperate counter & the guy had no issues checking both of us in with our luggage’s collectively. We will be making an official complaint to Turkish Airline about this experience, person & how they handled this on ground process, as I’m guessing that the airport officials are either friends or family working there to take any action or take this seriously. The airport definitely needs better on ground staff with more knowledge on customer service & the tourism industry to reflect their country better.

Arriving at Skopje Airport was a wonderful experience that immediately set a positive tone for my visit. The airport was modern, well-maintained, and easy to navigate, with clear signs that made the arrival process smooth. Immigration and baggage claim were handled efficiently, and the staff were polite and welcoming. I appreciated the clean facilities and the comfortable atmosphere, which made me feel at ease after my journey. Exiting the airport was straightforward, with transport options conveniently available. My arrival at Skopje Airport left me with a great first impression of the city.

Skopje International Airport (SKP) is the largest and busiest airport in North Macedonia, located about 20 km from the capital city, Skopje. Opened in 1928, the airport was modernized in 2011 to expand its passenger capacity. Operated by TAV Airports, it serves both international and domestic airlines, offering various amenities such as duty-free shops, restaurants, a VIP lounge, and free Wi-Fi. Transportation to the city center is available via shuttle bus, taxi, or car rental, with a travel time of approximately 30–40 minutes.
Habip K — Google review
The airport is impressively clean and the staff are super friendly — such a great first impression of Skopje! We were especially excited to discover that a massage studio has opened here. What a brilliant idea! The therapists are truly skilled, and the prices are surprisingly affordable — especially for an airport. Definitely a game-changer for travelers looking to relax before a flight!

Efficient and lovely tourist stalls with full of cultural souvenirs for you in case you miss out on some wherever you are staying. There is a passport check after security and after that you are in duty free. Restaurants and cafe are abundant and in variety.

A small aeroport, matching the size of this country. Everything works as it should. There are restaurants and bars and small shops. Free internet at the vinicity of the Burger King bar! Bus stand to the centre of Pristina, right at the main entrance. Departures every 2 hours at even hours. The price is only 3 Euros, while a taxi is 25 Euros. A beer in a 0.5 litre can in the hall before security check is for 2 Euros. Limited number of seats in the hall.

1. Airport is small but has lots of restaurants and services. 2. Chairs in security are comfortable but there are. I plugins for devices 3. This airport has free wifi - yay! 4. Don't expect cheap prices at this airport just because it's Kosovo. Prices are sky high!
Mike — Google review
That airport is by far the worst airport I have ever visited. There is no power plug even in waiting lounge for charging. Very expensive duty free, only pastries or pizza in the restaurants. Very limited transporting options from city center to airport. General check in counter for all flights, so you should wait all destination passengers front of you. Except the staff, they are very kind and helpful.
Mustafa K — Google review
There is Free wifi and if u want to go to city Center there is 1a Bus line.it was 3 euro per person. U can pay Cash. Station is in front of Airport to the left. U can make self check in.

Unfortunately no electronic boarding pass, you have to wait in line to get a print boarding pass.

Good and clean airport. The staff however cannot speak english, I asked an empoyee where the departures are and they did not knew what the word "departure" means...

During my recent visit to this airport, I was very disappointed by the state of the restrooms. The facilities were not clean, with unpleasant odors, overflowing trash bins, and a lack of basic supplies like soap. Such conditions are unacceptable for a place that serves thousands of travelers every day. Clean, well-maintained restrooms are essential for comfort and hygiene, and I hope management addresses this issue promptly.

Ohrid St. Paul The Apostle Airport

International airport
Airport
Ohrid St. Paul The Apostle Airport is named after the city's Christian heritage dating back to Saint Paul's time. Ohrid, known as the European Jerusalem, once had 365 churches. Some of the most famous ones include Church of St. John, St Naum Monastery, Saint Sophia Church, and Church Holy Mary Perybleptos from the 13th century. The airport is small but accommodating with pleasant staff and helpful services for travelers arriving in this historic city.
Good airport considering the size, almost enough seating for the amount of people that fit on 1 plane. The 'Gate Cafe' in the waiting area is priced well just like the duty free, the deal on Tic Tacs is amazing!! I've got enough to last me a month now 😁 staff here are friendly, and accommodating
Hannah I — Google review
Super tiny airport to fly into, though surprisingly not horrible. Long customs line of which we were in the back—took about 30 minutes. The room was nicely air conditioned. The worst problem was the people intentionally cutting the line.
Alex E — Google review
Does what is says on the tin. Gets you from A to B. The layout is straightforward considering the size of the airport and the security are an "electronics out of the bag" type of deal. The lady at gate cafe was lovely and the prices for a tea, coffee and a bottle of water were reasonable (£4 for all). The duty free is extortionate and is the last hurdle to robbing you before you leave. DO NOT fall for their €12 for a box of massive tic tacs deal (as my partner did) as they are actually filled with lots of individual tic tacs. How we laughed.

Worst airport I have ever seen.Such a small airport..Unbelievable.On top of that the security is worst, they searched my whole bag taking everything out of it for no reason.Even the detector gave false signal when I passed through it and they scanned my body unnecessarily.Worst experience.Flight also is delayed.Avoid this airport if possible.
Nabajyoti S — Google review
I have seen a lot of airports and tbh this one is a joke. Small doesn't need to be bad, but this is. long waiting, not so friendly stuff and the atmosphere gives me early 2000 indian airport vibes. I'm sorry, but this doesn't even deserve more than 1 Star. Hope they improve it soon!
Ashish G — Google review
Probably the worst airport I've ever been to, chaotic, no organisation, huge queue and not enough seating even for the one flight per day. Only one security line makes it very long and some people are just cutting the line. Also you cant take any public transport and the taxis charge 900 denar for a 10 minutes ride. I would rather take a flight from Skopje or Tirana, the place needs serious improvements
Balazs P — Google review
Parking Stuff is cheating. Invoice is 120 denars and he charges you 220 denars. I hope your coffee on my costs takes good. About Checkin for wizzair opens late but you should be there early - doesn't make any sense
Philip R — Google review
The most horrible, chaotic place in the world. Srsly, I am quite the opposite of a Karen, but no one is doing their job, only one gate is operating, however they are managing two flights simultaneously. The concept of logistics doesn’t exist here.
