Fountains
As you meander through the enchanting streets of Frigiliana's Old Town, be sure to stop by La Fuente Vieja, or the Old Fountain. This captivating landmark dates back to 1640 and was commissioned by Don Inigo Manrique de Lara, the first Count of Frigiliana. Originally built to provide fresh drinking water for both villagers and their animals, this historic fountain continues to serve its purpose today.
La Fuente, there are quite a few if you have the time to look for them. it's like looking for the little magical men in Wroclaw, you will find the obvious, never them all..

The fountain has three spouts decorated around it with geometric shapes; The two side spouts have rhombuses while the central one has a square. Above these pipes we can see a coat of arms belonging to the Manrique de Lara house, Íñigo, fifth lord of Frigiliana, being the one who ordered its construction. It is very deteriorated and is part of its charm, but it would not be bad to give it some maintenance since its fate can be fatal. (Original) Fuente situada en una plaza de mismo nombre. Beautiful piece of history here in Frigiliana....rumour has it that it never stops running

(Translated by Google) It's an old fountain that was completely whitewashed years ago and now displays its original brickwork and the stone coat of arms. To access it, you have to go to the church, go down the hill a little, and turn left. It's a shame that many people who visit Frigiliana miss it. (Original) Es una fuente antigua que hace años estaba totalmente encalada y que actualmente se encuentra mostrando el ladrillo original y la piedra del escudo. Plaza de las Tres Culturas in Frigiliana is a must-visit for most tourists. The plaza offers a stunning view of Palacio de Los Condes de Frigiliana o El Ingenio, which was once a 16th-century palace and now serves as a sugar cane factory. The name 'Plaza of the Three Cultures' pays homage to the coexistence of Christianity, Islam, and Judaism in this region over time.
This was the first time we've visited Frigiliana, we stayed in a hotel up the mountain and travelled here for the afternoon/evening. The atmosphere was absolutely brilliant. So relaxing and calming. We had a little walk around the white narrow streets and also took the train tour! How amazing! The guide was great. Top points to him for driving that train through those small streets! It was an amazing way to view the city and also get information about it. We we're so taken back at how beautiful this place is.

Beautiful place to visit from Nerja. Bus cost 1E30 there and the same back. One of the most beautiful little towns I've ever visited with fantastic shops. Recommend trying the tapas at the main square - delicious.

The food tastes okay, the prices are a little higher. The staff speaks poor English. The restaurant has a very nice view. It is also located right above a large underground parking lot. It was crowded, and there was a long wait for food.

The Mirador de la Casa del Apero, located within the Condes de Frigiliana Palace complex, offers breathtaking views. This vantage point provides an impressive panorama of the surrounding area. Our family visit to Mirador de la Casa del Apero in the enchanting village of Frigiliana was nothing short of extraordinary. Nestled in the heart of one of Andalusia’s most picturesque white villages, this cultural and historical gem offers a perfect blend of breathtaking views, rich heritage, and welcoming amenities for travelers of all ages. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the friendly staff at the information center, conveniently located within the beautifully restored Casa del Apero. The center provides a wealth of resources, including maps, guides, and multilingual support, ensuring that every visitor-regardless of background or ability-can make the most of their Frigiliana experience. Accessibility is clearly a priority here, with thoughtful features such as wide doorways, clear signage, and accessible restrooms, making it easy for families and visitors with mobility needs to feel comfortable and included. The highlight of our visit was ascending to the Mirador de la Casa del Apero. From this vantage point, we enjoyed sweeping views over the lush valley, the winding river below, and the iconic Plaza de las Tres Culturas. The panorama extends to the gardens of El Portón and the historic El Ingenio building, all framed by the dramatic Andalusian landscape. It’s an ideal spot for family photos and quiet moments of reflection, capturing the essence of Frigiliana’s timeless beauty. What truly sets this destination apart is its family-friendly atmosphere. The museum’s interactive displays and tactile models kept our children engaged, while the peaceful courtyards and shaded benches offered a relaxing respite. The location is also a perfect starting point for exploring the charming streets of Frigiliana, where every corner reveals a new story, artisan shop, or inviting café

You park easily near the center and head to Cuesta del Apero, where the cultural heart of the place lies. Access to the Mirador de la Casa del Apero is free and easy: you enter the Cultural Center of the same name, a restored 17th-century building that once served as a granary, stables, and warehouse for muleteers. Today it houses the Tourist Office, the Archaeological Museum, and a library, but you go directly to the upper terrace via a staircase in the interior courtyard. Once at the top, the viewpoint welcomes you with a fresh breeze and breathtaking views. From here, the town of Frigiliana unfolds at your feet like a colorful white labyrinth: you can see the Palace of the Counts, the old Maquinillas (water mills), Lizar Castle (16th-century ruins), El Fuerte, the Higuerón River winding through olive groves and orchards, and even the Bat Cave and the mill stone benches. On the other side, if you climb a little higher, you'll see the Plaza de las Tres Culturas (a tribute to the Arab, Jewish, and Christian heritage) and the imposing Ingenio, a 16th-century Renaissance palace that was the soul of the local honey cane rum.

The Church of Saint Anthony of Padua, located in Calle Real, is a 17th-century building constructed on the site of an old mosque. Its bell tower was once a minaret of the mosque. The church stands as a testament to the area's history, having been built partly with materials from the Arab castle that was demolished during the reconquest. Visitors can enjoy its lovely architecture and explore the surrounding plaza and nearby cafes and restaurants.

I need to learn more about the history of Frigiliana. There where battles with Moors here and there is a Moorish section of town might behind St. Antonym of Padua. They architecture is much like the churches in California built by the Jesuits to conquer the area and enslave the Indians.

Mediterranean restaurant
Nestled just a stone's throw away from the heart of Frigiliana, The Garden Restaurant offers an enchanting dining experience that combines breathtaking views of the village and the Mediterranean Sea with a diverse menu brimming with flavor. Guests can savor delectable dishes such as grilled lamb paired with hummus and Arabian bread, or indulge in beet curry enriched with coconut milk and licorice. For cheese lovers, their grilled goat cheese drizzled with onion confit and sugar cane syrup is a must-try.
Everything about this restaurant was simply perfect. The food was absolutely delicious and exceeded all our expectations. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. On top of that, the view was breathtaking and created the ideal atmosphere for a relaxing lunch. I’m so glad I chose this restaurant out of all the options for our day trip, it truly made the day even more special. I can’t recommend it enough!

We recently went for a dinner on a hot summer evening. Fantastic place with views. Get a table outside on the terrace under their cool looking awnings. Service was fairly quick with most tables taken and the staff is courteous. We got vegetable fritters, sea bream and the date dessert. All outstanding and the right quantity. The best part was the beer served in black porcelain glasses that kept the beer satisfying cold for a long time. Total bill was €80 for two. Make reservations; this is a popular place mainly for location but fortunately also for the good food.

If you’re looking for something special where the food is as equally spectacular as the views, this is the place to go. All the dishes were perfectly crafted and presented. The grilled chorizo was one of the best I’ve ever had and the salmon tartare had the most amazing flavours. The poussin was more like half a chicken which was succulent and moist, accompanied with the most perfectly cooked rice. For what we had and the setting it’s extremely good value for money.

We enjoyed our last dinner here form our vacation in Spain. Sergio our waiter could not have been better or more personable. The appetizers were all delicious and we split the burger. We ordered the most expensive wine on the menu that did not exceed e40 and was fantastic. We stayed for hours as the sunset and the night sky came in. Our favorite meal in town for sure.

The food was as good as the view and service provided! We were a group of 6, attached below are the main meals we had. The salmon I had was beautifully cooked and presented. Furthermore, a weakness I find in most restaurants is the rushed/lack of creativity in the deserts, this amazing place did not follow suit. The cheesecake and blondes were sensational (attached below).Thank you The Garden team for your hospitality!

Our best dinner in Frigiliana yet. Views are amazing. I had a great bottle of wine for €23. The servers were attentive and the food came out at a good pace. We had a great time. Definitely a highlight of our trip here. Total was €150 for 2 people included 2 starters, 2 entrecote, 1 bottle of wine, 1 sangria, 1 dessert and a tip. Worth it. Would go again. Definitely recommend reserving a table as we had to reserve a full day ahead.

Visited here on September 25th 2025 during our stay in Frigliana. Its not for the faint hearted getting there!!! I had to stop for a breather half way. Its steep and lots of steps to take, but a beautiful walk nevertheless through quaint whitewashed streets, all beautifully clean. We had booked via Email and told we couldnt get on the terrace and would be inside, which was fine, but when we got there, we had been put on the garden terrace, although I couldnt actually tell what bit was inside as its all outside, so it wouldnt really matter where you sit, you still get great views. The service was great, lovely lad from Cornwall looked after us. The menu was varied and food served quickly. Definitely would recommend, I think its one of the best places in Frigliana

Nestled in a picturesque square near the Church of San Antonio, La Taberna del Sacristán is a delightful restaurant offering a diverse menu of Andalusian cuisine. Very beautiful location, right beside the Church of San Antonio, so aptly named La Taberna del Sacristàn. Very relaxing and the waiters all had a great command of a lot of European languages. As we were going out to dinner later, we just had a plate of local meats and cheese with a glass of Rose. So tasty. The table coverings outside were lovely and complimented the surroundings Inside was a lot bigger that it looked and very full. Everyone was working so hard, and even under pressure the staff were still so polite. Fantastic way to spend a hot August afternoon.

This place is class. We arrived in Frigiliana around lunch time and spent the afternoon mooching about. We were not overly hungry but decided to call in and have a glass of wine about 19:30. In the end we decided to ask for the menu and it did not disappoint, the food was delicious along with the service. I’m normally not someone who would bother with writing a review but I just felt like this restaurant deserves it. We have 6 days to go so let’s hope the standard is across the board. Quick tip: have the melon and Iberico it’s the finest. The sword fish and pork kebab was very special also 🤞 There is also a young lad who is very helpful with the wine so double points to this place. 100% would go back 👍

If you're wandering through the charming streets of Frigiliana and looking for a unique dining experience, make sure to stop by Restaurante Sal y Pimienta. Nestled in the picturesque Plaza de las Tres Culturas, this delightful eatery specializes in Polish cuisine while also offering a fusion of Spanish flavors. The inviting atmosphere is complemented by friendly service that makes you feel right at home.
I've been here a few times for drinks and a bite to eat. Every time, it was good, tasty, and with absolute excellent service. The other day, I popped in for drinks and a nice seafood soup. It was well filled, good spices, exactly what I needed. The quite large croquetas were great, as well. But everything is good, including the pierogi, of course, as well as the other Polish dishes (for me without meat). I'll definitely be back, and I recommend it to anyone...

We didn't expect a lot when we found a Polish restaurant in Spain (we are from Poland). The ingredients in Spain are different, and not as authentic. We were very pleasantly surprised to taste actual great Polish food! Both pierogi and bigos were amazing, better than many restaurants in Poland. If you love Polish food, this is the place to go!

We quickly got a table for three people, but were then completely ignored, even though the restaurant wasn't very busy. When the cook scolded us because our child (1 year old) squealed twice, we left after more than half an hour. The unfriendliness and rudeness are hard to beat. Is this Polish hospitality? They should put up a sign saying children aren't allowed.

Just stopped here for a light lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. Set on the main plaza by the roundabout in the town off Frigiliana. The restaurant is Polish so opted for four off the small plate selections which were all very good then finished with Polish apple cake and ice-cream. (The croquette is twice the size but my partner tucked straight in) this is worth looking for.

El Adarve is a great restaurant with delicious food, friendly service and stunning views. The fried aubergines and honey are especially good.
The food was delicious. The view breathtaking, and if I'm ever there again as a senior, I'm coming again. Desserts are worth mentioning, too. I took a homemade cake - it was chocolate, and I don't know how they made it, but my tongue was in heaven. My friend ordered beef steak, and it was tender, juicy, and not too chewy, just perfect. PS. Great spot for sunsets and romantic dates! ❤️

Good food from an interesting menu, great views, and excellent service. And I'm going to have to go back for more from the menu. It was a chilly evening outside, but the location makes up for it. My friend had an Argentinian steak (not on the menu), and I had to go for the artichokes starter. Everything was made well, good produce, nicely presented. The staff was just great, which added to good overall experience. Yeah, I recommend, and I'll be back.

This is a fabulous gem tucked down a pretty fuschia lined approach, which opens into a slim dining room and a stepped terrace providing magnificent views across the white washed walls and terrcota rooftops of the hillside village. Its worth buying at least a coffee for the view. Service is smart, friendly helpful. The menu is big on sea food. We started with aubergines deep fried and laced with Frigliania's famous black honey. To follow we picked out hake, salmon and wild boar. Every dish beautifully presented, superbly flavoured. Great prices, calm, peaceful, on a sunny day it was divine. I will, I hope, be back. *** I have been back several times and Antonio & Carlos never disappoibt disappoint. Tonight was a gorgeous ajoblanco and the biggest cod steak with honey and spices, fabulous. And you can never fault the Frigiliana views. Just lovely.

Lovely views, fantastic food, and great service. We had the artichokes, stuffed peppers (special of the day), and the monkfish. Our wait staff were very attentive and jovial. Will be back!

Arrived in Frigiliana kinda late, and in the off season, and the adorable check-in fellow at our hotel recommended this as one of the better options this time of year because A) it was actually open and B) it was darn good. But he hedged a little bit because one has to walk a large number of steps to get there and it is one of the few restaurants that doesn’t take reservations. So he called them for us to make sure they were open and not too crowded, and we underwent the 500 steps to get there. We were so glad we did! First the service was playfully friendly and casual, yet impeccable. The hot bread roll (something I usually ignore) was so fresh and hot that I had to eat it all immediately, with picante virgin olive oil, lest it cool off and dry out. Everything else, the eggplant, the red curry, the incredible tart dessert, surpassed our expectations, and we left knowing that if we ever lived in Frigiliana, 500 steps or not, this would be “our place.” The decor is delightful (we ate inside as it was February) with an ample patio available during warmer times, the seating was comfortable (huge for me and my back) and the atmosphere was bright and cheerful. We felt welcome and valued and just had the best time eating and visiting with the lovely, funny staff. Very highly recommended!

Restaurante Las Chinas, located in Plaza Doña Amparo Guerrero, is a must-visit for those looking to experience the essence of Spanish culture and cuisine. The restaurant offers delicious meats and seafood, providing an opportunity to savor typical Frigilian dishes at affordable prices. With a pleasant terrace boasting wonderful views, diners can enjoy excellent meals made with high-quality products.
Get away from the more touristy spots by walking up the hill a bit. You won’t be disappointed. We had an excellent experience here. The food & service was excellent. Make sure you try the fried eggplant with local honey.

This place was very, very good. The tuna was excellent and cooked to perfection. It had a press on it, which made the glaze of the tuna, red and amazing. The vegetable stew that came with the tuna tasted like my grandmother’s cooking back at home. The people wear very nice and wear, loving and kind. The salad was very fresh like it came from their backyard. it did. Everything was super fresh and I loved it. You should definitely come eat here for the local food and produce.

The special for that day was squid and I got to say it was among the best squid I ever had! Our apetizer of bread and salad was simple and I! The shrimps we ordered were okay but the rest was amazing! Can't forget the service. Some had problems with English but the head server was wonderful! Really recommend this restaurant

If you are looking for a casual but delicious dinner, this is the place to go. Simple but very tasty food, mostly grilled. The staff is also super nice and you can choose to sit in- or outside. If inside, you can watch your food being prepared

If you are nearby you must come. We ordered the calamar nacional, gambones, croquetas, boquerones, gambas al pil pil, lamb chops, and everything was delicious. Service was top notch too. Inside they have ceiling fans which are better than being outside in the scorching heat. Would recommend highly to anyone who comes to Frigiliana.
