Castillo de Santa Ana

Mentioned on

Castle
Sights & Landmarks
Castillo de Santa Ana is a historic castle from the 14th century that provides magnificent panoramic sights of the sea. The compound comprises a small museum and gallery for visitors to explore. It's a popular destination where one can stroll around and admire the stunning views from atop the roof. Additionally, it offers an exhibition consisting of impressive photographs that are worth viewing. The best part is, visitors can enjoy all these attractions at no cost as entry to the castle is free.
Castle looked great from the outside. Sadly, we arrived at a time when it was closed (little tip for you....check opening times before you go) haha! Some beautiful photo opportunities there. I may go back when it is open but from what I could see it was amazing.
Ian P — Google review
I came two years ago, they had an art exhibition on (modern art, I was like yeah I can have a go too). I drew a picture of the Castillo. It features me walking my dog called Colonel Lappy and a rainbow in the background. The Colonel loves castles too, he's a good imaginary dog. Anyway I hope I win. Worth a visit if you like castles and old stuff.
J M — Google review
A lovely place to visit, cute place with some photos and exhibits which make the walk about quite nice. People mainly go to the top of the castle to take nice photos which is totally worth it. You can easily spend at least 1hr and is free entry. Easy walk from hotel nearby.
Ana L — Google review
Historical & Fabulous Castle My family really enjoyed it. This is a beautiful castle in the Old Town of Roquetas. super place to take a stroll walking around just enjoying the sea breeze. Very relaxing.
Paul V — Google review
Beautiful castle, detailed history and art exhibition. Free entry and the views from the top are amazing
Stephen R — Google review
Worth a look and even better it was free to enter. Beautiful views from the top and very well kept. Inside is currently displaying a photography and art exhibition which was very interesting, especially for my eldest daughter. We all enjoyed the time we spent there and would recommend anyone visiting the area to take a look.
Mark F — Google review
If you visit nearby Spain then it's a nice stop off point during a beach walk to grab some much needed shade. This is an old fort i believe dating back to 1700s however it is very modern inside and to be fair, it looks great!! It is now an art gallery with plenty of pictures and quirky art pieces and to top it off, it's free to get in!! You can also go up to roof and have a good view out to sea and across the harbour. Its not huge so plan this in as a minor pit stop. Oh.. and there's a nice Amphitheatre outside too :)
Shaun — Google review
Nice historical monument but unfortunately we arrived at siesta time so it was just closing. Nice for a little walk around the exterior anyway.

Aquarium Costa de Almería

Mentioned on
6 lists
Aquarium
Nature & Parks
Aquarium Costa de Almería is a captivating destination in Roquetas de Mar, Spain, offering an immersive experience with over 3,000 species of marine life. Visitors can marvel at sharks, rays, and tropical fish in the tanks while also enjoying activities like feeding koi fish and interacting with aquatic creatures in the touch pool. One of its highlights is the shark cave diving experience where guests can get up close to these iconic sea inhabitants inside a 700,000-liter oceanarium.
Good place to go to for an afternoon out. Right next door to Mario Park and a 15 minutes walk from Gran Plaza shopping mall. Information is in multiple languages however the talks are only in Spanish. I was amazed to find out that the main shark tank makes everything in the tank looks 30% smaller. I thought Romero the bull shark was already big enough 😄🦈
Stephen R — Google review
A nice aquarium with touching pool, great for kids. The only drawback is it's quite quick to get around, so I would recommend trying to get a discount eg. If you have passes for Mini Hollywood you can get in for half price.
Tamara — Google review
Booked tickets on line for ease but was a very quiet day, which was lovely. A guide at the beginning spoke perfect English and advised where to and what to see. You can get hands on with the star fish/stingrays and buy €1 fish food to feed some at the begining. The talks are in Spanish obviously but you can tell the staff love their jobs and she was very nice in pointing out certain things to us about where to watch the stingrays get fed. We watched divers feed the sharks and saw the cutest 3 legged turtle! We walked round once, had a very reasonable drink in the cafe. €7 for a slush, can of pop and Americano coffee then walked around again and spent more time letting the stingrays splash us and smoothing the ones that clearly liked the attention. All in all a few good hours out and worth the trip
Anita B — Google review
Without the touch experience, this would be a very overpriced experience. The staff inside are great. At the entrance I felt they were confrontational. Probably too many people aren’t happy with the pricing vs size ratio or confuse the place with the water park. The prices should definitely reflect the size of the place!
Dessi P — Google review
Excellent aquarium , it takes a couple of hours to walk around , there is a feeding time and talk ( in Spanish) well worth a visit
Malcolm C — Google review
Very nice aquarium. Especially the whale tank. It's very clean and nice. But also it is small. 22 EUR for an adult felt a little bit overpriced, but also the maintenance of it cost a lot. There are feedings with professional explanation twice a day
Sebastian L — Google review
Fantastic Aquarium Super aquarium very hands on, the kids could put their hands in bowls, etc. This was a great afternoon out. Highly recommended.
Paul V — Google review
Maybe small but have to say very well taken care of. If you fancy aquatic life, fishes and so forth it worth pay a visit. Perhaps a little bit expansive for what you get in return still, as said, I enjoyed it.

Playa de las Salinas

Playa de las Salinas, located near the town of Roquetas de Mar, is a popular beach known for its historical association with the San Rafael Salt Flats. The area offers a recently opened short route called Puerta Verde de Roquetas de Mar, providing a peaceful environment for beachgoers, walkers, and cyclists to enjoy without encountering motorized traffic.
Great place, especially because this part of Roquetas de Mar is closer to the Gran Plaza center than La Romanilla or Playa Serena. My kid loved playing in the sand, even in December 🤣🌞🇪🇸❤️
Adrian B — Google review
After the storm the beach had more sand rather than pebbles by the sea and not so much of a steep slope into the sea
Peter W — Google review
It's nice here. Parked right opposite the beach, went for a swim and not too cold. A lady passes every day selling veg. Near the street Market, always a pleasant one to visit on a Thursday and very clean and secure and there is a small laundrette as well. Thank you the town for your hospitality.
John M — Google review
The beach is great, a very wide and roomy beach with small pebbles. Plenty of space for everyone without it feeling overcrowded. The water is clean and very pleasant to swim in. Some nice restaurants on the beach front 5 minutes away. The only thing we were missing is a changing room/closet, but it wasn't a big deal

Playa Serena is a stunning pebble beach located near resorts, offering ample space for swimming and leisurely strolls along a palm tree-lined promenade. The area also boasts an 18-hole golf course at Playa Serena, a bull ring, and a designated nudist beach.
Beautiful, beautiful place to spend mornings, evenings, and nights 😃 The area at the paseo Carmen Sevilla with the fountain and all that, sorounded by all those palm trees...just mmmmm 😃 Great place. The only downside (this is just me being picky, is that the beach isn't fine sand)
Adrian B — Google review
Nice beach Big place Water is warm
Drea M — Google review
A spacious beach with plenty of parking available. Perfect for families
Mrs B — Google review
Large sandy beach. The sand is not so thin but much better than pebbles. The sea is usually calm and the water is not so cold. The beach is so big that there's always space to get a nice spot close enough to the water. There are kiosks along the beach to have a drink or eat something. Parking is not difficult but it might be some days that you need to park a bit further away from the beach.
Ivan G — Google review
It is a beautiful beach, very clean, not to crowded and big

Water park
When planning a family getaway to Roquetas de Mar, Mario Park Aquatic Park is an essential stop that promises a day filled with excitement and laughter. This vibrant water park caters to visitors of all ages, featuring an array of thrilling slides and refreshing pools that ensure everyone has a blast. The convenience of nearby accommodations means you can easily immerse yourself in the fun without worrying about transportation logistics.
(Translated by Google) Many slides (Original) Muchos toboganes
David L — Google review
(Translated by Google) A good place to spend the day with the water slides for the little ones and the older ones. The only thing I recommend are waterproof shoes for the little ones and for adults since the ground is quite fast and when you walk a lot the sole of your foot is quite scratchy and in the end it hurts!!! The price is quite high since not only do you have to pay entry but you must pay €7 for the hammocks and another €7 for the float rental! You can leave the establishment as much as you want but as long as they give you a stamp to enter again.
Lidia W — Google review
(Translated by Google) Well, the park is generally clean and the food is good. The only thing is that there are some details that make you wonder whether to return or not, like the increase in the price of float rentals and the minimal number of free floats they offer (only four per slide), which forces you to rent if you want to try all the slides on a day. They've set out to make a business out of the floats and don't care whether the customer is satisfied or not; they just line their pockets. And they forget that their customers are PEOPLE, a considerable number of people (more than 500 attendees daily), so the slides require such ZERO maintenance. They only paint them every few years and that's it. The joints aren't repaired and they cut your back when you go down. Except for the Kamikaze, all the other slides that are used without a float are just too much like breaking your back or butt if you jump in sitting down... In the end, you've paid for a normal entry fee to a water park that you can't enjoy 100%.
Maria F — Google review

In short, a good place to have fun with family and friends. (Original) Parque acuático relativamente pequeño, pero muy divertido, para los niños y los mayores. Tiene restaurantes y bares, se puede salir del recinto con una pulsera. En definitiva un buen lugar para divertirse con la familia y amigos.

(Translated by Google) Good place for children. There are slides, restaurants, and swimming pools. Some wear is visible on some slides and the green covering of the walking areas. Apart from paying the entrance fee, it is advisable to rent chairs and an umbrella; €7 per umbrella. You must also pay separately to rent floats to slide down the slides; €5 plus €10 deposit per unit.

It's one of the cleanest beaches in the area, the water is clear but beware of jellyfish. Nice beach playgrounds for children. Exercise machines are along the promenade, there is a cycling track either towards Aguadulce or Roquetas
Mrs B — Google review
This beach has small stones and can be quite dusty. Good for lying in the sun and playing beach games. Not good for building sandcastles or digging holes with daughters!! There is normally a good atmosphere and the beach is never really that busy. Although can be busier in the late afternoon. A great place for a walk on the promenade in the evening.

Real nice beach, very clean. Not too crowded during high-season mid-August, either. Lack of overly aggressive sales-people is a plus, too. Definitely recommended when you're in the area. 💯

Very helpful lifeguards when I was stung by a jellyfish. Key tip - go straight to the lifeguards who can treat you effectively - do not shower if you get stung. Lots of bars to choose from. Lovely Marina at one end of the beach where as well as an array of yachts you'll see plenty of fish. The beach gets very crowded on hot weekends in the Summer. So, if you don't like sharing the beach with other people, look for alternatives. Difficult to find parking in peak times (unless you go to the car park in the Marina).

Mariopark

Water park
Water & Amusement Parks
Mariopark is an aquatic attraction suitable for all ages, providing visitors with a variety of thrilling experiences including a wave pool, steep slides and designated children's areas. Despite some additional fees for certain activities, the park is well-maintained and boasts ample safety measures such as numerous lifeguards to ensure the security of younger guests.
We visited today, and were pleasantly surprised. After reading all of the bad reviews I felt I had to leave one of my own. We went with 2 children age 4 & 8 and they both had a brilliant day! Was surprised at how much my 4 year old was allowed to do compared to other waterparks we have visited! Everyone complaining about the extra hire charges simply needs to read the website as it is all stated on there and we were very much aware before arriving. But looking at the likes of waterworld or the sancastle back home you pay pretty much the same prices but for only a couple of hours, and nowhere near as many attractions, whereas here we had all day, and so much to do. The park was pretty quiet for a Monday in the summer holidays, but they did have discounts advertised for later in the week so maybe everyone was waiting to get in cheaper? The layout of the loungers was brilliant, you have your own little personal space and we felt they were definitley worth paying for as people weren't all crammed in like in other parks, also the safe box attached to the parasol, what a brilliant idea! There was no running backwards and forwards to lockers for personal items! The park felt well staffed and really safe, there were lifeguards at the top and bottom of all slides and they were constantly watching! We arrived at 12.30 and left at 6.30 and the children would have loved to stay longer! We ordered a pizza and fries to share, the portions were huge and food was fresh. All in all a brilliant day out and would definitely return!
Nichola N — Google review
Several people have broken shoulders on their tallest ride (I saw them on TV) I myself hurt my knee on that ride, by hitting it against the wall if the tube. The people on TV were complaining that the managent could not care less about their injuries! Other than that, the pools are fine! 😊
Carlos E — Google review
The park is good in terms of rides and layout. I will say that first because I have had to reduce the score for several reasons. The life guards are absurdly over zealous. Some stand with the whistles in their mouths waiting for any reason to blow. In the large pool I lifted my daughter out of the water when one guard blew a whistle, when I looked over she was shaking her finger. Another guard whistled because a child was splashing lots whilst they were swimming! It was shockingly bad. I am a full size adult and the area we were playing in was empty so I told the guard to leave me alone and carried on playing but kids were stopped from having fun. The guards at the top of the rides were a little more relaxed and let some people take cameras down so it wasn’t all bad. The other issue is the fact that since we last visited they have put nets up to stop you getting into the water except in some places. This wouldn’t be too much of an issue because most people climbed over the barriers ignoring the whistles from the guards but I am disabled so walking is difficult, stepping over would be impossible, it meant to go from the beds I rented into the water I was next I had to walk around the pool I wanted to get in for quite a while. So the guards cost a star, the nets cost a star and finally, the park opened at 11:30. We were waiting to get in and the guards opened the gates at exactly 11:30, the park closed at 19:30, at 19:00 everyone was forced out of the water, we were ushered out like cattle, it gave us no time to shower and dress because everyone, at the same time had to try to do the same. We ended up having to change in the car park. This was probably our 7th or 8th visit to the park and we won’t be back. There are other parks in the area that offer better value for money and let you have the fun you paid for.
Matt I — Google review
2024 UPDATE The prices have gone up, there's one new ride although it wasn't open when we went at the beginning of July. I highly recommend buying tickets online as you save a small amount but the main advantage is that there is a separate queue which saves time. If you choose not to hire a float, the waiting time isn't too bad. More staff speak English. The place has been freshly painted, it looks clean and well presented. The onsite parking is FREE. It's not cheap, you do pay extra for a few things however the place is brilliant and there's plenty of fun to be had
Mrs B — Google review
Payed 55euro for 2 adults. You have to rent sun beds, rent slide wheels rent lockers that dont work properly, massives queues on slides 30 40minute wait. What a waste of money.
Arnas P — Google review
Some pools need some more cleaning. Everything was okay even though some attractions weren’t operating in the kids pool area. My biggest problem with this was the fact that they closed the little restaurant which is the ONLY place they sell actual food at 4:00 pm. It is a bit ridiculous that we are trapped in a water park and they closed the only place where we can buy food other than small hot dogs and crepes. This should change
David M — Google review
Great park, bit of a faff if you don't rent your own ring.
Craig S — Google review
We were hesitatant to go here because of the lackluster reviews. However I did enjoy coming here. We went september 7th which is the last day it's open. It wasn't super busy but there were some moments you had to wait to use the slides, most of which were worth it. If you do go here, bring your own towels, lay on the grass and bring your own food to save on some unnecessary costs. Apart from that have fun 😊

Absolutely enjoyed our dinner last night!! So hard to find decent place with good food. Pizza was very tasty, kids loved it! I had fried Calamari and my hubby’s Tenderloin Steak was amazing, proper pepper sauce and really good quality steak! Defo will be back! Very friendly service👌🏼

This is a Dutch owned restaurant so it's very popular with Dutch travellers especially for the rack of ribs which we haven't tried yet. We arrived at about 1.30 on our bikes. Busy but plenty of seating space available especially in the outside covered area. A basket of bread with a soft cheese spread was placed on the table. My wife and I ordered 2 glasses of white wine. 1st course.. My wife ordered Salmon Salad. I ordered croquettes. Both dishes were lovely. 2nd course.. My wife ordered Fish and I ordered Chicken. We both loved our dished. The creamy sauce on the chicken was really good and I would have eaten more. Desert.. My wife has a tart and I had a cafe. Paid twenty nine euros with a bank card.

Best restaurant in Roquetas de Mar! Personnel and staff were so warm and welcoming and the food was so good, that we visited this place 3 times during our 1 week stay. An experience! Muy rica! Ordered spareribs and fois gras and it was beyond excellent. Also pork loin, tenderloin and lamb. The pork just fell of the bones and the 4(!!!) pieces of fois gras did their best accompanied by a beautifully glanced pineapple and sauces. Service was, as mentioned, so friendly and personal, we felt so good and cared for the entire evening. Wine was filtered and oxicated (red), which really made a difference, sangría was smooth and tasteful and the tiramisu was rich and filing. Definitely a place to go to when visiting Roquetas de Mar. Thank you for some great evening(s) (with fair prices). Juán was one of our waiter and he was so good, along with Yonella and Antonio!

Started great. Had fantastic bread with aioli. Great first course, grilled cheese. For main course, I orded beef tenderloin medium/rear. Got it rear. I did send it back and got same peace well done. Did not eat the sauce or side dish, because it was cold. The people I was with did not like their main course also. And the waiters never asked us how our food was. They took it away and when we did say something, they didn't care. Never had so bad service, for so much money in Rockets De Mar before.

Had a lovely meal in the outside glass covered seating area. The steaks were beautifully grilled as requested followed by some local deserts. Strongly recommend to have some food if you're in the area!!

Best pizza in town. I have tried most pizzerias in Roquetas and Aguadulce and this is by far the best one. Gluten free pizzas are an option and they are really good too. Definitely the best pizzeria in Roquetas.

Bad luck with the lamb: overcoocked and not tasty! See also photo. Mostly we eat here very good and tastefull. Also we let bring food at home and it was fast, warm and very good.
Johan V — Google review
great food and service! The food was so tasty and the desserts were amazing, even offered us a lemon sorbet when paying for the bill. there was AC in the outside seating area so the kids could keep cool in the heat. It would be a 5 star but the kids chicken came out raw, they were quick to fix the problem though.

It's not worth it. Over hyped in reviews. Was outside and there were a bunch of loud delivery scooters from the restaurant coming and going next to us. So i got the monkfish. The dish was 30/70 shrimp/monkfish with a slap of mash potatoes. It's under seasoned and not worth it. Then we order the suckling lamb. Lacked flavour meat for a wood grilled lamb. Large portions though it was over cooked I like my meats 🍖 little red. The squid... the squid was very nice. Very large portion with a lot of grilled vegetables on the side. Can't complain there 👌. The kids' menu was OK. The price reflects its content. Chips are large boats fried possible in the same oil as the fish and reflected in the flavour. Can't complain about the house red. Waiters never asked how we felt even though the lamb was just plucked at. When we approached the waiters, the attitude was poor and no solicity offered. Overall over priced and mediocre...

We had a meal in this restaurant yesterday evening, it was absolutely wonderful. The staff are so friendly and helpful, and the quality of the food is exceptional. The deserts too are amazing. We are going to book again to go back with family as soon as possible.

Chiringuito Nido Playa is a popular beachfront kitchen located near Playa Serena, offering a perfect spot to enjoy a delicious meal after a day at the beach. Known for its varied menu featuring locally sourced seafood and desserts, this restaurant is highly regarded for its quality and value. The focus here is on grilled fish, including specialties like wild sea bass and salt-baked sea bream, as well as barbecue options for meat lovers.
Really lovely location with delicious food at decent prices. The only issue we had was that we struggled a bit to communicate with the staff initially due to the language barrier. The breeze was nice and not too cool, though we were outside and it was mid October. We had no reservation, but that wasn’t an issue and a table was fixed for us, which was nice. 5 🌟 for the waiter with the long hair that served us in the end and offered us a lovely honey rum with lemon juice 🤤🤤

Great restaurant in a perfect location right across from the beach. We had the mixed paella, which was delicious, flavorful and generous. The sangria was also excellent: fresh and well-balanced. Our daughter had the spaghetti Bolognese and really enjoyed it. A big bonus: there's a playground just in front/back (terrace) of the restaurant, so our daughter was able to play right after dinner while we relaxed. A fantastic spot for a family meal!

We stopped here for dinner and had a great time. The menu has a good selection of options and service was pleasant and engaging. The food was lovely when it arrived, good sized portions and well cooked and presented. The desserts were nice too and my profiteroles were certainly a generous helping! On a less windy day it'd be nice to dine on the beach rather than inside. Good value and a lovely evening.

Good restaurant with perfect location on the beach. Very serviceminded and attentative staff. We had some tapas and some lamb chops which were all very good. I recommend this place.
J. A — Google review
We arrived there according to google score that was high but got very disappointed. The food was embarrassing for the price we paid. 8 sardines that wasn't cooked well and some still with blood was more then 10 euro and they were honestly tasteless. Lamb ribs were without meat almost at all with the price of 21 euros (see the picture..that how it was served BEFORE eating). Was a little shocking. The waiter was very sympatic and offered to change the dish but we were too disappointed and left. Overall, nice staff, bad food and totally overpriced. Will not repeat.
Arie T — Google review
Very nice seafood and fish restaurant, wonderful food and excellent location by the beach, overlooking the sea. Also possible to get meat and other. The restaurant has a lovely dish called seabass in salt, which is a freshly caught fish cooked in a mountain of salt - simply tasteful. Service was outstanding, friendly and service minded, this was the best of the entire visit. Plates and chairs where a bit messy and sticky due to the fact that the restaurant has open all day, which in return also means lots of beach guests. All in all a great place for an evening out, with or without kids.
Caroline N — Google review
Great food and service. We are here on a short stay and ended up going here twice because the food and waiters were so good. We loved that they spoke little English, it makes it more fun and authentic, you could tell how welcome we were made to feel, especially with a toddler. Excellent.

An absolutely lovely experience. Table on the beach. Lovely service. Great food. Good value for money. Recommend it to anyone. ❤️

Had a great meal here on the last day of our holiday. Had prawns to start, were huge and very tasty. All had calamari for main, was fresh and tasted good - portions were plentiful. Was able to sit on the beach and enjoy the view. Would suggest the restaurant consider if they really need to charge people for tiny pots or the aioli considering this is a fairly expensive place already, that seemed petty and was the only downer on an otherwise great meal.
D M — Google review
Excellent service, in a very smart clean setting just off the beach. A decent varied menu that is cooked to perfection. We had two lunches here, our small group each had different meals and there were no complaints at all. Staff were friendly, courteous and patient with our language difficulties. Prices are a little higher but well worth it as the meals are fantastic. Very clean toilets. Outdoor seating.

Amazing fish restaurant, right on the beach, and also outside of our hotel. The food was outstanding, cooked fresh and served hot. The service was warm and friendly Would i visit here in the future.... 100 per cent YES

Scenery is beautiful, service is excellent and welcoming, the food, wines and sangría is also worth a visit. Gambas pil pil and paella marisco was made to perfection, super fresh and tasteful. The aioli is one of the best in all the restaurants we tried and you basically just get a very nice experience, no matter if you eat a small dish or go all in with a long night of chilling and eating. Definitely a must see when visiting Roquetas de Mar.

Ristorante Italiano San Rocco is a perfect spot for authentic Italian cuisine, offering freshly made dishes that will delight any fan of this type of food. While their pizzas are a highlight, it's highly recommended to try their pasta dishes such as the fusilli san rocco with pesto, house lasagna, or tortellini crema rosa. The restaurant provides a lovely setting with both outdoor terrace seating and stylish interior options.
Amazing! The lady who owns this place is a superstar! We visited here on the 27th & 28th September. First night is because my family from uk felt like Italian food, it did not disappoint. I fancied steak which was off the menu due to the season the owner said if you are coming back I will try to source some. True to her word the next day we went back and she had some for us. Atmosphere was great staff very friendly and the owner explained every dish to us. Honestly if you like Italian food this is a must whilst here! Also I would like to point out that the squid ink pasta is to die for!!!! Thank you San Rocco we will be back one day!

Absolutely fantastic Italian food at amazing prices! I’ve eaten here twice in the last four days because it was just that good. Authentic, full of flavor, and incredible value for money. The service from Maria Victoria was outstanding — friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great Italian meal with top-notch service.

We visited this evening and I wanted to write this review to support the restaurant as we had such lovely food and service. 3 of us had the spicy home made lasagne which was really delicious. The blueberry cheesecake was really nice too. I thought the service was really good and this was my favourite meal of those we had in recent days in Roquetas de Mar. Pricing was reasonable too. Would visit again.

So we've been here twice in 3 days. Excellent friendly service. Food is absolutely phenomenal. The King Prawn Salad is the wife's favourite. They made me a Spaghetti Alioli Picante that is probably one of the best I have ever had. Thank you Rte. San Rocco...the best 👌🏽

A delicious meal! ...if you can handle the wait. We got here at 21:50 after booking a table for 22:00. We had to wait for 45 minutes until anyone asked for our order. And then we had to wait another 40 for our food to be served. I've visited this restaurant with my family before and this seems to be a recurring issue- super slow service. A 45 minute wait for someone to even take our order is outright preposterous, especially in an establishment of this (rather small) size. That being said, the food is fantastic. Everyone at the table were very pleased, and they really do serve great dishes with interesting flavors for a reasonable price. It does have a few vegetarian options as well, both for pizzas and pasta. The restaurant itself is clean and classy. It really is a shame the staff seem so unwilling to provide a reasonable service. If they did, san Rocco would without a doubt be one of Roquetas' best restaurants.

Absolutely amazing. Walked past this place first and then read the Google reviews - sold me and my partner on coming for dinner and I'm so glad we did - it was incredible. Their food is delicious, perfectly cooked, steak is divine (melt in the mouth) and everything is really reasonably priced (particularly when you're comparing to London prices!). Wine choices were plentiful and the service was great. I really recommend eating here if you haven't already and trying them out - a hidden gem in Roquetas de Mar.

We were standing waiting to get into Lord John’s tonight but it was getting late & no sight of us (family if 4 ) being seated any time soon. We decided to walk away before everywhere stopped cooking food & closed the kitchens. Luckily we found this close by and literally had less than 15 minutes before the kitchen closed so ordered quickly. Service was great even though they were winding down & the food, well it was simply stunning!!!! I had 1/2 rack of ribs with bbq sauce and it fell off the bone, the potatoes were cooked with a crisp outside and fluffy inside seasoned with just the perfect amount of salt. The small salad had balsamic over & went perfectly. My Husband had the steak and it was cooked to a perfect medium rare. Just Delicious. Even had Apple pie & ice cream for dessert which was beautifully presently & tasted Divine. Price point here is such good value & I can honestly recommend 100%. If you can visit then do so. Much Better than the most hyped restaurants around! Also the restaurant was decorated lovely and such a vibe inside restaurant. Thank you so much for such tasty food & lovely customer service this evening 27th July 2025!

So pleased to have found this restaurant! We ate at Raku three consecutive nights as the food was so good! We was pleasantly greeted for our reservation each time. The waiters are lovely and friendly and can speak quite alot of English which really helps when ordering food. I can honestly say that I have never had a better steak in my life! I had the beef Rib eye on my first visit and then the fillet steak the second and third visit, all equally as good! The kids meals are very generous and include a drink and ice cream too. Well worth a visit, you won't be disappointed. The only thing I am disappointed about is the fact we discovered RAKU at the end of our holiday and not the start. Gracias!

Great food. The owner travels to research dishes and bring them back to his restaurant. Thursdays at Restaurante Pizzería Roma, Frente Hotel Best Sabinal are fantastic with their steak night special. For just 12 units of currency, they offer a three-course meal that three members of our party chose to indulge in. I personally decided to treat myself to a fillet steak which was absolutely delightful. The starter, a prawn cocktail with avocado, fruit and bread was generously sized and could easily be a main dish on its own.
Fantastic. Visited many times over the years and we're never disappointed. The Menú del dia is superb value but all the dishes are excellent. Highly recommended

Returned to sample the pizzas. Took the pizza special €12.50 midweek deal. My wife had the salmon pizza and I had the salami pizza. We both had a beer. The pizzas were really good. The base was thin but not very thin like in northern Italy. Definitely be back to try other pizzas.. Paid twenty five euro by bank card.

Here is the English translation of your text: --- The delivered pizza was unworthy of an Italian restaurant. It reminded me more of a frozen pizza than the flavor of a real Italian one. One of the worst gastronomic experiences of my life. The plastic chairs didn’t make up for the staff’s kindness. --- Let me know if you want a more formal or a more casual version as well.

We went here a few nights ago(not the first time) and had a really nice lasagna, been for takeout pizzas tonight and what a disappointment, we have had pizza before too and not had a problem but tonight’s pizza was just terrible, I’ve never had a meal with so much salt, we may as well have gone to the beach and drunk the sea water, we could not eat the pizzas, they literally burnt our mouths with the amount of salt

Fantastic service and atmosphere, but the pizza is very soggy. I went with my family because we thought it was an Italian style pizzeria, but the pizza was not Italian at all! (e.g., pizza with spaghetti topping on the menu...ugh...). Advice to the restaurant, please put cheese AND THEN the toppings, not the other way around.

It was very busy there so we didn't think twice about eating in this restaurant. We had the garlic bread for starters, which was nothing special. A sliced baguette rubbed with garlic, this was ok but nothing to write home about. For the main course we both had the Spaghetti Pil Pil, which had a very strange aroma and after taste, but we continued to eat it. My wife mentioned she wasn't happy with the dish as it tasted burnt. It wasn't until we had eaten a lot of the Spaghetti and reached the bottom of the dish we saw all the black burned garlic. It left a very bad taste not only that night but also the day after. I complained to the waiter who just shrugged his shoulders and said lo siento. Safe to say it was not the best dining experience and we won't be back.

The worst chiringuito i have ever been to. The manager was inhospitable and very rude. I grew up in Almería and sat down to get a tapas. He pretended not to hear me when I asked for the tapas. After waiting for 30 minutes I asked another server who brought it to me in 5 minutes. The manager was furious and started to shout at him. I was wondering if o had done something wrong. I obviously had more yet being tall and blond he was trying to take advantage of me and was angry that the other costumer had treated me like a local instead of a tourist. I them asked for half a porción of chipirones as i was hungry and he ws refusing to give any tapas with other drinks. By this I mena completely ignoring me whilst drinking chupitos with at least ten locals that had entered. I heard him giving it to them for free. He then brought me a drink I had not asked when I grew up speaking Spanish and was speaking very clearly. I realized it was just so he could rip me off more. He then told the server that was nice to me that I was never going to be coming back to the place as he was going to make me pay 35 euros for it. I was shocked to hear him say it and the other server was feeling uneasy about him. He brought the chipirones which was a small porción. When I stood up he charged me 35 euros for two drinks a small porción of chipirones. The chipirones were cooked in cheap oil so would not recommend it. He then stryed laughing at em when I was paying. I did not know him and was kind to him yet he mistreated me. If you are a foreigner stay far away from this restaurant there are many better options.

The food is amazing! Absolutely great ! For sure we will repeat a lot of times. The quality of the products are so great ! Each thing perfect about the plates. It’s sad that the service was not working so good, they were super stressed and forgot a lot of things. No one wants a running person around your table and you need to reminder all 2 times. What a joke! I walk into the restaurant it's dead not a single person is there. I'm asked if I have reservations: I say no. The woman proceeds to tell me I have to sit in the back room. It's 1 PM on a Sunday. I decided that I wanted better service so I go to the restaurant next-door called bar Aurora talk about amazing service and perfect food. Don't waste your money at that place. I was well dressed and ready to spend a pretty dime on a good meal. Their loss and what horrible service. When we left the restaurant next-door, there was only one person in the entire restaurant they could've seated us anywhere. Reply: That is a complete fabrication, I yelled at no one and as the picture clearly indicates you're lying about all your reservations. I took this picture after I finished my meal at the Bar next door. Wow not only horrible customer service but instead of taking the criticism like a good business would you tell complete falsehoods.

There are not many places that can top off the quality and service that we had tonight. The flavors were absolutely balanced and complemented each other. Each specialty of protein we ordered - monkfish, octopus, oxtail, and shrimp were all cooked with pride and to perfection. I loved that each plate was to be enjoyed and savored before the next one and you’re served a clean reset plate for each dish. And we spoke very little Spanish but they were very kind and helpful in translating. If i could give this place 6 stars i would. Thank you truly for a great experience.

we walked passed the restaurant at lunch time saturday which was busy, and returned in the evening for dinner. It was very quiet, but we received a lovely welcome and excellent service from the young lady. The food was really excellent, we don’t normally like Bacalao, but it was a very special dish with safron and truffle. The Carrillada / Pork Cheek in pastry and Mushroom sauce won the day however, unforgettable. Recommended.

We had the most amazing lunch at PA'LEVANTE, what an incredible experience! We were visiting Malaga and decided to visit also Roquetas de Mar; we made a reservation online for lunch and when we arrived, the table was waiting for us, having a label with our name on it. My wife doesn't eat much meat and is lactose-intolerant, and the ladies taking our order and serving the food were paying so much attention to these details, that we could really enjoy this beautiful restaurant and the sea-side location. We had the tuna tataki (best tuna we ate in a while!), the octopus salad, the salad with olive oil icecream (amazing! never had it this good!) and the octopus leg (cooked to perfection!). The ladies taking care of us didn't talk great English but they did their best to understand us and to explain to us (in a Spanish-English mix) everything, making sure we know all the details - couldn't ask for more :) The location is great, super view, everything was clean and quiet, beautiful menu (not the usual 'deep-fried everything'), 100% recommend!

Getting around Roquetas de Mar can be a little daunting if you’re new here. We can help list some of the major public transportation methods if you don’t want to rely on a car.

Nearby airports

Almería Airport

Airport
Almería Airport is a small and convenient airport with easy access from the motorway. It offers a hassle-free experience with quick security checks and a peaceful atmosphere, allowing travelers to relax while waiting for their flights. The airport features a cafe for last-minute refreshments but has limited shopping options. Despite occasional delays and passport control queues, the airport's relaxed ambiance and sea views from the roof make it an enjoyable place to begin or end your journey.
It’s a small but beautiful airport. It has got all the facilities. The duty free shop was very good with reasonable rates. It also had a pharmacy shop. The best part of this part was open terrace on 1st floor. This sea facing terrace had a cafe and children playing area which was open for general public.
Balkrishna S — Google review
Some sections of the airport aren’t really built with queues in mind, so the queues can be a bit of a mess sometimes. And the trays for security are smaller than any I’ve ever seen. But other than that, the experience of going through this airport was all pretty smooth aside from the usual wait times that you’d get at any airport. All very clean too

Definitely a great airport very clean great upstairs open terrace with a bar smoking is allowed also facing the runway plenty of seating also a few bits to keep the little ones occupied for a while

Nice Almeria airport, safe and clean. Customs and security was very good Recommended 👍

I just went to collect my friends from there and I couldn't get a decent drink or food. I'm very disappointed .

Very small airport. Not much of a crowd. I'm use to flying out of SFO, a large and busy airport so that was a nice change of pace. One thing I didn't like is I purchased a bottled water, chips and a coke from the airport cafe that is literally next to the tsa checkpoint... The Checkpoint agent said I couldn't bring it through. I hadn't even opened anything yet..... I just purchased it.... Wasted my damn money! There should be a sign that says "Purchase from the store on the other side of the checkpoint"

Small modern airport. Gets busy in the morning. Has a few shops and a medium duty free area. Clean and well managed as long as there's not too many flights.

Small airport but fast and efficient on arrival. Departure day, one cafe and small duty free shop again fast and efficient service. Called to gate and this was very overcrowded because three planes had all been called to the gate virtually at the same time. This inevitably caused a bit of chaos as loads of people in the queue to board when they should have been just waiting at the gate.
