Museum
Specialty Museums
St Neots Museum is a charming local museum located in a former Victorian police station and court building. It offers an engaging journey through the history of the bustling market town situated on the River Ouse, spanning from ancient times to the modern era. The museum features original jail cells where prisoners were once held, as well as captivating exhibits showcasing the impact of the 1851 railroad development and evolving local domestic life.
For a small town museum, this is an excellent place to visit. The building is the former police station, with the old cells still there and accessible. The array of fossils and other items from prehistory were sone if the best I've seen in any museum. Well worth visiting.
Alice G — Google review
What a little delight - packed full of unusual and interesting exhibits. The old police cells are atmospheric - especially to hear first hand how noisy it must have been with tiled walls, metal washbasins, and metal doors slamming. For a contrast, walk along Market Square Road and across the bridge admiring the river and the parks as you go. There are plenty of shops and places to eat.
Emma — Google review
Went to the museum for the first time in a while. They have made a lot of updates in recent years including: impressive slideshow of old St Neots criminals, added an interactive train carriage (complete with slideshow and video), and changed the area near the old school desks to add in a mini museum and kids games area. My little boy would have happily stayed there all day. The mini museum is a model of the museum. I know the museum layout well and you can tell the team have put care into designing it, even incorporating a mini Eynesbury Giant! Definitely consider stopping by to check out the exhibits and learn some local history or go to one of their events

I've been in the museum many times over the years. My favourite bit is the prison. Local history of st Neots. Think at times they have days when you can do the escape room experience of the prison. It's free to those who live in town. Has a little gift shop.
Ethan M — Google review
Very pleasant museum, friendly staff and plenty to see.
Simon B — Google review
Small museum, but don't let that put you off! There are interesting exhibits and it is split into different sections. The 1930s room and the old cells were my daughter's favourite parts. It explains the history of St Neots, the police station and criminal pasts of people in the area. Loved it, would really recommend
Simon P — Google review
Friendly, welcoming staff: we arrived during very heavy rain and were able to store our wet raincoats and bags in a secure location. Exhibits were well put together and relevant to the location (the former magistrates court and prison), as well as the history of the local area. Interesting for both children and adults. We'd also paid for the "Cardboard Clues", an interactive adventure suitable for all the family - it certainly kept our 10 year old happy. Only one criticism: the stair lift wasn't working, which meant that the family member currently on crutches was confined to the ground floor. We'll just have to go back again when he's recovered!
Carol H — Google review
Lived here for years and never knew the history of this place. You can see the old jail and sometimes the court room. Lots of interesting facts and pictures of St.Neots over the years. Lovely helpful working there and different events held throughout the year.

Park
Riverside Park is a picturesque 72-acre green space along the River Ouse, featuring willow trees and scenic views. It offers various activities such as picnics, walks, cycling paths, and a playpark for kids. The park is also home to the Ouse Valley Way, providing opportunities for longer walks without having to cover its entire 13-mile length. Visitors can enjoy feeding swans and ducks with wheat near the pond next to Ambiance cafe.
I love going there! Lovely to walk around. Sit and enjoy the view. Have something to eat and drink at the restaurant. Feed the ducks. Watch the boats Go by! A Great place to walk the dog if you have one. And take the children.
Ethan M — Google review
Great adult only site a stone’s throw from the river usk. Hosts are really friendly and will help in any way possible. Lovely small market town provides everything necessary for a stress free stay. Local butchers sell amazing prepared BBQ meats. Lots of options for walking and cycling too. Thoroughly recommend this wonderful site

A medium sized park in the middle of stneots that's very popular. There's a car park available, ( free on Sundays) with charges at other times. ( coneygeare parking is always free with a 10 minute walk to the Riverside) Plenty of large grass areas. Children's play areas , one large with a sand pit Food area Toilets Skate park Miniature railway Dogs allowed but leads recommended due to volume of people Right next to the water it's a great relaxing place. It does get very busy at the weekends though. Perfect for families. Car meets in the car park on some Sundays.
R J — Google review
Vast open space ideal for all types of outdoor activities. Plenty of play space for children including a skate park. Popular cafe on site too. Miniature railway advertised as operating on a couple of days a week. Pay car park or sometimes get lucky with street parking nearby.
Iain W — Google review
St Neots Riverside and parks. Great place to visit and walk with children. Bring a dog and eat outside. Easy inexpensive parking and lovely cafe with friendly staff located at the Riverside. Great place to spend the day. Take a look at some of the architecture which has been adapted into shops, some of it is very sympathetic
Ann P — Google review
Unluckily the miniature railway doesn't work so the park has lost it's charm. The park is huge and all the big plants are well maintained. Nevertheless I went in the mid if the spring and flowers whatsoever. Some parts of the park look dirty and the interior paths are made of tasteless concrete. I think that st. Kneots can do much better.
Sergio G — Google review
Beautiful place, huge park and really open. Lovely to the boats go by and lots of geese and swans around. Some beautiful walks and lots of nature to admire 💚
Emily R — Google review
Lovely park, plenty of flat land for picnics and a few picnic benches for those that don’t want to sit on the floor! The Ouse runs on one side with a smaller river leading to a pond next to Ambiance cafe. Loads of dogs as a popular dog walking area but plenty of alternative routes should you wish to avoid dogs or if you have a reactive dog miss other dogs. Loads of swans and ducks great to feed them wheat (not bread as it’s harmful to them). I am unsure if there’s a nearby place to get wheat from. Ambiance is a lovely cafe next to a park so you can have ice creams and coffee whilst the kids play. There is the miniature railway in riverside as well which makes for a fun day out for the kids.

Nature & Wildlife Areas
Paxton Pits Nature Reserve, located in Little Paxton, spans 77 hectares and features a diverse range of habitats including lakes, meadows, and woodland. The reserve is renowned for its abundant wildlife such as nightingales and cormorants. Visitors can explore well-maintained waterside walking trails that wind around picturesque ponds and the River Great Ouse. The area offers opportunities for education groups and families to observe local wildlife throughout the year.
A beautiful place to visit. Surreal and tranquil with nature abound and peaceful hours in natures embrace. Either walking alone or with loved ones, pets or exercising in a beautiful environment away from the toil of modern life. Anytime you can visit the centre have a coffee. Everyone is friendly and it’s nice to relax and get away for a few hours.

Lovely place to have a little wander with clearly marked paths throughout. The staff in the little cafe are friendly and it's always clean and tidy. A good range of drinks and nibbles are for sale, and the chairs are reasonably comfortable. The car park sometimes fills up quickly but there's always been a spot for me. A wonderfully calm place with lovely views throughout.
Emmelina A — Google review
Lovely big nature reserve with different areas and trails. Lakes, ponds, meadows. Obviously cared for by passionate people. Good clean toilets. Some great touches...umbrellas to borrow and an all terrain mobility scooter. Visitor centre dependant on volunteer. Think they could make more of cafe...better quality snacks and even a sandwich fridge? Education centre wasn't open despite it being a special open day, and I think it would have been lovely to have more stuff to do for children using that space (not just for schools). Great for photographers and wildlife spotters. It's free, as is parking so certainly recommend going. Also check out their events (though going between friends of paxton pits and BCN websites is confusing to find stuff!)

Nice place to walk. Free car park and toilets. Friendly, helpful staff at Visitor centre and cafe.

⸻ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had such a great time visiting Paxton Pits with my class – it was a fun, educational, and memorable day out! The children loved exploring the area, and it was so well organised. A huge thank you to Debbie, who was a fantastic leader and organiser for the trip – so knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging with the pupils. We have a fantastic rapport with the team at Paxton Pits, and it’s always a pleasure to visit. Can’t wait to come back again – highly recommended for schools and families alike!

What a beautiful reserve with some lovely walking trails and fantastic bird hides. Free parking and a visitor centre too!

Lovely setting. A choice of walks. Never been crowded when we've visited. The visitors' centre is grand. The staff are always welcoming. Very reasonably priced snacks and drinks. Tea, coffee etc. Outdoor seating for warmer and drier weather. We used boots last weekend. Muddy in places. No charge to park as of November 2025.

Pretty breathtaking nature reserve and my favourite nearby nature reserve so far. Have taken some very beautiful pictures here. Love bird-watching and the abundance of nature - wonderful for IDing! and there's the epic waterpark and water sports (?) which we must try also. Always a pleasure to visit.

Xtreme360 Trampoline Park is a delightful children's amusement center that offers an enjoyable experience. The venue provides ample parking and smooth check-in procedures, ensuring convenience for visitors. Despite hosting multiple parties simultaneously, the park never feels overcrowded. It boasts a wide array of trampolines, along with attractions like a 5D cinema and virtual reality area. This diverse range of activities guarantees entertainment for all ages.
Great place for a party. Dozens of trampolines, some with dodge ball, some with a foam pitt. Parties for up to 16 I think can be reserved. Pizza and drinks are part of the package. Plenty of parking. You get an hour for your group to use the trampolines and then an hour for the actual party. You bring your own cake. Can be rather noisy and children will be tired after all the running around but they all seemed to enjoy the experience. Saturday and Sunday are always busy.

Been to this trampoline park 3 times and have had a very enjoyable experience each time. It’s definitely my favourite trampoline park I’ve been to. Staff are friendly and welcoming, food is great and overall a great trampoline park. Had a nightmare regarding an incident with my car - the staff could not be more helpful. They were amazing and I’m so grateful to them!

Very friendly and helpful staff. I had issues booking on the Internet and the manager helped me resolve this. Despite being an open session and having a smaller and younger child, we had a great experience and didn't feel overcrowded. All staff friendly. Would be happy to go back at any time.

Excellent activity for children etc. Very good range of food including gluten free and oat milk cappuccino. Very impressive and all reasonably priced.

We came to this place for a birthday party and it was a nice surprise. There's plenty space for parking, the check in process was simple and indeed there were like 4 parties going on at the same time but it never felt crowded. The variety of trampolines is quite large, there's a 5D cinema (although I am not sure what the 5tj dimension would be) and other attractions. Overall we had a good day

We arranged to go to Xtreme360 for my Sons 10th birthday with a few of his friends and they absolutely loved it ❤ we stayed for 2 sessions which was reasonably priced. Ample parking and clean amenities . Food and drink available and a Virtual Reality area and 5D cinema experience.

Italian restaurant
"Il Girasole" is a charming Italian restaurant with a modern yet rustic atmosphere that caters to all ages, even hosting children's parties. The menu features classic Italian dishes such as pizza, risotto, antipasti boards, and fresh seafood. The restaurant prides itself on offering freshly prepared homemade food that appeals to every palate. Guests can indulge in delectable desserts or enjoy a limoncello digestivo after their meal.
Amazing restaurant! Food and drinks were delicious and the atmosphere was lovely on a Wednesday evening. The only small downside was that we ordered the ‘gooey brownie’ dessert and it was slightly dry and more like a cake. Other than that, lovely evening and we will be back!
Kiera O — Google review
The atmosphere was absolutely lovely, creating such a warm and welcoming vibe. The food was very authentic – it truly takes you back to Italy with every bite. Everything arrived on time, and the service was impeccable, definitely a 10/10 and will recommend!! The dessert was a highlight, delicious and clearly freshly made. A wonderful dining experience all around!

I absolutely love the pizzas at Il Girasole – they’re always fresh, delicious, and perfectly cooked. I often come here with my family, and every visit feels so warm and enjoyable. The staff are genuinely kind and attentive, and the owners make you feel like part of their family. It’s one of those places where you want to come back again and again. Highly recommended.😊
Aynur A — Google review
This is possibly one of my all time favourite Italian restaurants I've visited in the last few years and I've visited a lot of them (I can be very picky!). The prices are exceptionally fair, the portion sizes beyond generous and the food unquestionably delicious and tasty. The service staff are kind, friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating and dinner service was reasonably prompt (I've never been left waiting too long and everyones food always comes out together which is appreciated). The atmosphere is professional and fancy without feeling rigid and uptight. The restaurant is also very large (but clean!) so you're rarely wedged up beside someone else which is appreciated, especially as a larger group. I honestly have nothing bad to say other than that the salad served with the lasagne is a little silly and could use extra care and attention or withdrawn all together. I'd also like to see calorie and nutritional information on the menu so that people who require it can make an informed decision about what they're eating. Other than that though, do keep up the excellent work.
Robby D — Google review
This was our first experience at Il Girasole and honestly, for a traditional Italian restaurant (not a generic chain restaurant) the food was a little disappointing. I was expecting better considering all the great reviews I'd seen. To be fair, the Arancini starters were delicious and very filling, so they were excellent (we were a table of 4 and 3 of us had the Arancini) and my Dad had the duck main course and said that was good, but everything else was just OK and nothing we would rush back for. I ordered the lobster & prawn linguine which was expensive because of the lobster (I'm guessing) and it came with a tomato & chilli sauce and the sauce was very generic, barely taste the tomato and the sauce overpowered the delicate prawns and the from the texture of the lobster pieces they seemed to be defrosted from frozen so they were soggy & no flavour (they king prawns were the best thing in the dish). I can't remember what my husband & mum ordered, but they were similarly a bit underwhelmed with their pasta choices. I ordered a scoop of strawberry gelato & lemon sorbet for dessert and as a palate cleanser after my main course, and the gelato was certainly nice but the sorbet was incredibly hard (like a rock) - like it had been stuck at the bottom of the freezer or something, very odd and I've never had that experience with sorbet before. The staff were friendly & polite but if we come again we'll definitely request a table at the front of the restaurant as it was incredibly noisy in the rear - of course being a Friday evening with many groups out it was probably inevitable - in spite of the sound dampening features they've clearly added, with draped fabric on the ceiling. Anyway, we won't be rushing back.

Lovely place! We often come here with the family — the Pizza Margherita is a favorite, the wine is great, and everyone is always so warm and welcoming. Definitely recommend! 🍕🍷✨

Really cute! Good service. Excellent pizza. Amazing desert. The salt grinders were clogged and the cracks in the wooden pizza serving plates isn't very hygienic. Would have loved some parmesan on the table for the pizza.

A first visit, but no doubt I will be back for more. Absolutely delicious pasta, simply can taste the fresh ingredients and no scrimping here with the seafood. Having grappa available in 2 sizes on the afters menu hits the ball out of the park.

Definitely a 5 star and I'd give it 10 if I could! Everything about this place is amazing, the build and decor is so nice and done to a high standard, all the staff were very professional and polite! We both tried something new suggested by our waiter and thoroughly enjoyed it.

We visited Nawab lounge on a Friday evening and had a lovely meal out! The restaurant was clean and spacious, and staff were friendly and helpful during our visit, checking in a few times and helping us place our order. The food was absolutely delicious and came out piping hot. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and everything was to our liking! We recommend Nawab lounge to anyone needing a delicious curry and will definitely be returning soon!

St Neots is lucky! Ate with three others, all enjoyed their ample servings. The prawn puree starter is very large and tasty. I had part of a lamb dhansak and lamb madras. Excellent dhansak, sweet, sour and pretty spicy for the dumbed down curry of 21st century. The meat itself is very well cooked, little fat, no gristle, lovely. Madras could be hotter but see previous general complaint. Had a slight order mix up which the manager sorted quickly and effectively. Was pretty full on a hot Wednesday evening so good atmosphere and it deserves its popularity. Very happy to go back.

We were visiting from the U.S. and surprised a friend by meeting him and his wife here (she knew we were coming). The service is good here, and the food is amazing 👏🏻. I had the Lamb Vindaloo and man, was it good and spicy! If you like coconut, try the frozen coconut dessert; it comes in a half shell. 🥥 The drinks are very good, and there are some nice creations to choose from.

Bohemia St. Neots is a charming restaurant and bar located in a compact, brick-lined eatery with wood beams. They offer a diverse breakfast menu featuring options like 'The Bohemian' with shredded ham hock or fried halloumi, full English breakfast, vegan choices, chorizo-based dishes, waffles, and bubble-and-squeak. The restaurant has inclusive options for vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-free diners.
This is one of the best full English breakfasts I’ve had! All quality ingredients, served swiftly and with a smile and genuine warmth cooked to perfection from the chefs at the open kitchen. Couldn’t ask for anything more! Oh and the coffee is really good too (and we are total coffee snobs!)

We arrived at opening time on a Sunday, but this place quickly filled up. Service was efficient and friendly. Wide menu with lots of breakfast options. My avocado and halloumi was super flavourful and fresh. My husband's full English could have had better quality ingredients. Saying that the grilled sourdough toast on both our plates was super tasty.

This place has the best menu, the slickest service and the best aesthetics of anywhere in St Neots. Want a healthy option, or a delicious soup or just an amazing bacon roll- they got you. Their specials are also special and interesting. It's not cheap but also not mad expensive and they bring fresh water to the table as standard - with lemon and mint in for freshness so you don't need to buy a drink necessarily.

Possibly one of the best pubs I have ever been too. Quaint and cosy inside, with a vast selection of beer, ale and cider. Towards the back there are several fridges bursting with craft beer. We nabbed a couple of pints and purchased some spicy nuts - which were delicious and cheap! If you are dipping your toe into craft beer or real ale or are a beer connoisseur, this place caters to both. As a bonus it was dog friendly too. We definitely will be back soon.

Nestled on the banks of a beautiful lake, Ambience Cafe lives up to its name, exuding a peaceful, easygoing vibe. More than just a cafe, it's an experience for the senses. The wrap-around porch offers front-row seats to ducks and swans gliding across the water, a serene backdrop for sipping coffee and indulging in the cafe's scrumptious homemade treats. Families gather at picnic tables shaded by oak trees, while kids laugh and play on the nearby playground and mini train track. The friendly staff enhance the chill atmosphere, welcoming customers like old friends. On busy days when every table is taken by chatting locals, dog walkers, and tourists alike, the sprawling indoor and outdoor seating still manages to feel uncrowded. With the lake views, exciting attractions for kids, and welcoming service, Ambience Cafe is a wonderful place to relax over brunch or lunch. The cozy, scenic spot tops my list for grabbing a bite in an idyllic setting that truly lives up to its name.

Fantastic Cafe. Gr8 quality food, but much cheaper than the market cafe or other cafes in centre of St. Neots. Cappuccino is even included with Breakfast. They have their own chickens as well. Really nice people, and it’s busy too, which is always a good sign, so if you have to wait 20mins, it’s well worth the wait. They are pretty quick tho.. Car park is big right next to really nice park and the River, also public toilets in car park. Lots of seating inside and out too. Tasty food, great coffee, great prices, big menu choices, and licensed too. It’s Also Biker and pet friendly. Great people. What more could u want. Very highly recommended. Also free Disabled parking in car park, Bonus!
