Logis Hôtel de la Croix d'Or is a charming hotel located in a 17th-century coaching inn, offering simple yet comfortable rooms. The establishment features a beautiful garden and a sun-drenched terrace, providing a serene natural setting. The on-site restaurant, Restaurant de la Croix d'Or, offers an exceptional dining experience with finely crafted local delicacies served with finesse and audacity. The hotel seamlessly combines its retro charm with modern cuisine and professional yet relaxed service.
A very relaxing hotel. Service perfect. Bright spacious rooms. The garden is a lovely area with tables and chairs and cover if needed. We will use it again.

I did not stay at the hotel here but I did have dinner and got violently ill from the tuna steak. I have never been sick like that in my entire life. I want to preface that this was two years ago, and I was just reminded of this because of a photo I took of my meal. I would hate for this to happen to anyone else so wanted to share. I hope they have since made adjustments. My parents ate other things and were completely fine, but the tuna obviously was bad. I felt it had a weird taste so I stopped eating it, and thankfully, because just from a few bites I had horrendous food poisoning. Don't order the tuna!

The restaurant here is amazing. They were open on a Sunday when most others are shut. The prices were extremely reasonable, particularly the 3 course meal options. The dessert was too good! Would definitely recommend.

Stopped for 1 night, driving back from Nantes to Cherbourg after cycling La Regalante. A very good hotel. Rooms was good. Supper was very good. Recommended.

The Hôtel de la Croix d’Or is a lovely hotel with plenty of old-world charm. The building appears to consist of several old houses and the ambiance is delightful. The staff are first class. There’s a well stocked bar too, especially for whisky enthusiasts. I didn’t eat there in the evening but breakfast was very good. Plenty of parking and undercover too for my bike. So if you want a modern building and object to a squeaky floorboard or two, then look elsewhere, but if you appreciate an older, quality establishment with great atmosphere and excellent service, then this place is recommended

We've been staying overnight at Le Croix d'Or on our way to and from holidays in Brittany for seven years. It's everything you'd expect from a traditional French hotel with parts dating back to the 17th century. The rooms are comfortable and quiet, the garden is very pretty and the food in the restaurant is exceptional plus it does a good breakfast buffet. The staff are very helpful and have that French air of professionalism. It's not the cheapest hotel you'll find but nor is it the most expensive just great value for a great experience.

Amazing restaurant in this little town. Beautiful hotel ambiance and very elegant setting. The food was superb. Very inexpensive and great value. For a three course meal, it was only 29 euro. A great variety of selections among appetizers, entries and desserts. The best meal I had in my entire trip to France. I would give it Michelin stars…

Good hotel, room was quiet and big enough for us (although the bathroom was small). The garden of this hotel is wonderful and you can also sit outside, the fittings are really interesting,  there were many vintage objects, which gave the place a special elegance.  There are enclosed parkings and the hotel is quite central.

Le Bistrot de Pierre is a classic French bistro located in the center of Avranches, offering traditional 3-course lunch sets and a la carte options. The seating may be a bit tight, but it adds to the authentic atmosphere. The friendly staff provides attentive service, and despite the language barrier, they are accommodating. Guests have enjoyed delicious meals made with fresh ingredients at reasonable prices. While the dishes may be simple, they are perfectly cooked, especially the seafood.
Great, cozy place. Food was top notch ☺️ Main dishes served with seasonal veggies which are absolutely delicious 🤤 Definitely try desserts, especially cream brûlée and lemon tart! If you fancy a drink, try some home wine or home cider. We went with cider and were amazed how good it was 🍎 Staff are simply sweethearts. Would recommend this place in 10 out of 10 times!

Classic French bistrot in the centre-ville of Avanchres, near a big parking lot. There are classic 3-course lunch sets and a la carte items. Seating is a little tight, but that's very normal for French bistros; makes the atmosphere very authentic. Service staff are very friendly and will come around to check on you. If you don't speak French, use a Microsoft or Google Translator to read the menu and communicate. Dishes are pretty classic. Beef fillet comes with a red wine jus, mixed vegetables and fries. Duck breast comes in 2 sizes (half and full size), paired with mixed vegetables and fries too. There is a choice of fish (pollack or mullet) and it comes with a decadent sauce. If you order mussels as a main, expect a big pot with fries. We struggled to finish it. Tip: if your bread doesn't come with butter (beurre), simply ask for some. They will provide it free of charge. Don't hold your breath on the quality of bread though; it was on the dry side. Don't expect gourmet bakery standard bread. Most importantly, the toilet is clean!

We enjoyed a very good dinner at a modest price. Simple dishes but perfectly cooked using good quality fresh ingredients. Seafood is particularly good. The table was a bit small but there are others with more space. House white wine is okay at very reasonable price. Pleasant service. Will go again anytime we're passing Avranches.

A wonderful dining experience, Pierre was very welcoming and tried his best to ensure our needs were catered for. As English speakers in France we found him to be very accomodating and helped us to understand the menu. The food was fantastic and could not be faulted. All in all a great experience and could not have been more pleased.

Beautiful little bistro, busy for a Wednesday evening with a nice buzz which is always a good sign, the food was great, of a high standard for the price and the service was excellent too! What more could you ask for!

Had a great meal here. Excellent food and attentive staff. Good value for the money. It fills up quickly - we were the first people seated at 7pm and by 7:20 it was full.

Buffalo Grill Avranches is a delightful dining spot that stands out among fast-food options in the area. Visitors have praised the friendly and attentive staff, who go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant experience, especially for families with young children. The menu offers a variety of tasty dishes at reasonable prices, making it an ideal choice for travelers looking to enjoy a satisfying meal. Although some guests noted that service could be slow during busy times due to limited staff, the overall atmosphere remains inviting and enjoyable.
Friendly staff, open all day ( very helpful with young child) great food which came out super fast, lovely little cards given to my son. I mentioned we were gluten free and they immediately brought over allergy booklet ( didn't need it as there were plenty of options)they really could not do enough. Every member of staff was so friendly and kind. Easy to park right outside too

The restaurant looks really nice and inviting. The interior setting has American flair and nice group sized corners for private dining. And even though the waitress did not speak enough English, she was trying to be helpful and make the best out of it. She was friendly but has not asked for help by another waitress until she occasionally showed up and helped translate so we were able to place an order. The food itself was ok, but not more. The prices anticipate something else though, but the expectations could not be met here. What really bothered us was the arrangement of the food. It looked like it was thrown at the plates without any further thought. We have never experienced food looking like this ever before. This place cannot be recommended.

in an area with fast-food outlets, but this one is the best of the 3 options. good food and good price. only thing is service is slow and there was a strange alternating hot then cold air circulating, even though we were far from the entrance. over all, a good spot to stop if you're on the road.

We are visiting from the UK and had a really good visit to Buffalo Grill Avranches. The food was lovely and the service fantastic, the children thoroughly enjoyed. Despite working on it for many years I'm sad to say my French speaking is very poor, the lovely waitress was very patient with me which I very much appreciated. Thank you.

We came and tried to dine here but they would not let us come in because we had a happy meal for my 2 year old! I can’t believe that they refused to give us business when they only had 1 table seated! Great business model for you all!!!! We came and ate at McDonalds with great customer service.

Only one waitress for the entire restaurant so service was slow. She spoke good English. Menu was only in French but pictures told you what it was. It was very convenient from Mont Saint Michel back to Paris.

Total disaster, my wife and I wanted to order dessert, but they refused to order it because they wanted me to order the whole set. For me, it was a total failure, I do not recommend it. the hypocrisy of young people is terrible, if I hadn't asked for a recommendation, no one would have approached me, lack of interest in the person.

I would like to point out right away that this is NOT a bad cafe. Good track, in sunny weather it is wonderful to sit and drink beer. However, the cafe has a number of drawbacks, unfortunately. I ordered a cheese burger, the meat was not bad but the bun was not toasted. The burger was under-salted, but there was a piece of jamon inside which was quite salty. Strange and a pretty obscure flavor. The fries weren't salty either, and unfortunately we didn't get any sauce on them. It was rather bland. The chicken was a bit overcooked (it's a matter of taste though). The waiter didn't speak English at all, and I certainly don't blame him for that, but it was quite difficult to communicate. All in all, this place has potential and I wish them to develop.

Burger was raw, chèvre chaud salad was made with burger bun, pizza was soggy and flavorless. Service was good but that’s it.

We had lunch there today August 4th. The outside seating was full inside was full bu there was space between the tables. I had the Barvette and my wife had the Normandy Burger both meals where very good the service was quick and friendly staff. We shall return Thank you

Run by children whose interest in their own conversations exceeded their attention and respect of the customer. Food OK , but ambience nil and frankly embarrassing.
