Came during low tide in winter and it was truly spectacular even during this time of the year. It’s even better when you don’t have to fight the crowds during the most favored times of the year. Definitely worth your time to visit, but check the local tide schedule if you wish to walk along the beautiful stretch of beach here.
Jonathan L — Google review
Fantastic with great views. Definitely worth a visit at low tide, it is open when the flag is up. It costs €5 to access the fort, cash only is accepted
Stuart — Google review
When I arrived at the gate it was €5 and they accepted only cash so I wasn’t able to go in. Views from the gate looking back to the city are stunning and well worth the walk over.
Louise R — Google review
It’s opened only from June to September for visits. But it’s placed beautifully in the middle of the sea and reachable only on low tides.
Florin D — Google review
If the France flag is on the castle means it’s open to public to visit. However even visit the beach is fun.
Hao Y — Google review
On the Michelin scale, it would be ⭐️, worth stopping in if you’re around, I would not make a dedicated trip just for this. Saint Malo is very nice though.
Mike L — Google review
Very nice castle on the bay. You can walking to the castle only when there is low tide. This is an ancient guard castle to defense the city from sea attack, so there are cannons inside. There is a large grass for resting, it's also beautiful for child who want to run. In the sunny days is a very spectacular place for taking pictures. It's important so pay attention at the tides, if you don't want wet your shoes..
Sergio — Google review
I went there at 3:30 on a Friday at low tide and it was closed, even though in the picture I took, you can see people inside. I’m not sure why they can get in and I can’t. Not good. Also, the hours on Google say it’s open. Too bad they don’t update it when they’re closed. I went to the office of tourism and she said that is closed for the next three days, but she didn’t know why. I found out why it was closed for three days because it was due to a wedding. I guess rich people have priority over the regular people. Also, it says to look for a French flag to see if it’s opened, but they fly a Britain flag along with the blue flag to confuse you. Luckily I was able to go back another day and their website said it was opened and when I got there they said I could tour it for 30 minutes. About five minutes later, they told me I had to leave even though the tide had not blocked the away.

Wonderful place! It would make a great afternoon visit with kids or even to go on a date. Not much in English but it's fun and interesting.
Maureen E — Google review
Very nice aquarium, not only regular fish, but also a variety of more obscure, more interesting fish. The ride at the end is very entertaining and creative. Beware of loud children though, they’re not just shark bait unfortunately…
Julian K — Google review
Visiting from the UK arrived on the morning ferry with hours till accommodation check in.. Called in here to the Grand Aquarium.. Wow.. a great couple of hours spent with the Fish.. Well laid out, a great family visit.. The Nautibus tres Magnific.
Simon P — Google review
A visit for the kids who love their fish and other sea animals after a walk round the old town of Saint Malo. Lots of parking, some under cover so the car isnt too baking when you return to it. Entrance fee was reasonable for family of 4, less than UK Seaworlds. The signs were electronic and helpfully cycled through each animal in each tank in French and English, more informative than lots of tired UK Seaworld signs. Lots of different sea creatures to see, including turtles in the main tank and spider crabs, a nice flow to the different sections, and a surprise at the end, a simulation of a visit to an underwater station and submarine ride. Quite slow moving queue (whole thing probably took an hour) in a confined area, the videos along the way are all in French, and the sub ride itself is arguably more exciting than what you can see outside of the sub, but a welcome addition to end the visit on that a UK place would make you pay extra for. Worth a visit, rain or shine.
Chris W — Google review
Really lovely trip out. I think the price was reasonable considering it is similar to prices back in England and that doesn't even include a fantastic submarine ride, like here at the Grand Aquarium. Fantastic selection of fish, crustaceans and turtles to see, some I've never seen before. Lovely clean glass on the aquariums. Huge multiple touch pool area with sharks, rays, fish and crabs to touch. Animal welfare seems really good here too. Throughly enjoyed ourselves. The only thing I think they could improve on is having english subs or dub on some of the videos, so we can understand a little better. We entered at 12 noon and there was no queue, no rush to enter as open until 7pm. Spent a few hours walking around and then went on to Dinard close by for a seaside walk.
Kirsty P — Google review
Excellent experience. Very good aquatic husbandry. I really enjoyed the behind the scenes tour.
Jimretr0 — Google review
Good - but really was busy! Busier than when we went to the larger one in Paris but great fun. The sub ride at the end is good fun and not to be missed!
Kelly L — Google review
We arrived before lunch and found that there wasn't a big queue to get in which was good. We had lots of room to move about with only once or twice being a little crowded. Plenty of exhibits to see. My boys were amazed by the sharks and the Rays which one of them was brave enough to touch at the  The underwater cave was super. The gift shop was well laid out and we had no problem parting with a few euros to get some decent gifts.

Beautiful Cathedral. It was a warm day outside and I couldn't believe how warm it was inside due to all of the burning candles! Peaceful place with interesting religious artwork. Free entry but donations appreciated. You can however donate for a candle.
Elizabeth B — Google review
My wife and I were fortunate to visit on the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker and attend Mass. It was a beautiful and reverent liturgy. The church is also visibly stunning and filled with history.
Brendan G — Google review
This Cathedrak is fantastic . Inside thanks to the beautiful stained glass windows, you are treated to one of the best light shows going . The skill involved in achieving this is immense, unfortunately my skills at photography are lacking and my photos below par . Oh well you will just have to visit yourself and give your eyes a treat . I almost forgot this is just one cathedral on the Tro Breizh (tour of Brittany) linking the towns of the seven founding saints of Brittany . So get your walking boots on I am half way around .
Heimdal O — Google review
Beautiful interior and well worth a visit . Stunning stain glass windows and very unusual contemporary altar piece
John D — Google review
This lovely cathedral in the centre of Saint Malo is completely free to enter. It has a lovely peaceful atmosphere, beautiful stained glass windows, a large organ at the back. It's a wonderful place to head into for a calm and quiet break from the busy tourist streets of Intra Muros, or to get away from the weather, whether rain or sunshine!

Demeure de Corsaire is a historical mansion and museum located near Le Grand Hotel Des Thermes in Saint-Malo, France. Built in 1725, this imposing mansion offers guided tours in French, allowing visitors to step back in time to 18th-century Brittany and explore the elegant interior with historic furnishings, including wrought iron banisters, open fireplaces, and sumptuous bedrooms. The museum also features a terrace with stunning views of the old town.
Amazing mansion that brings you back to the 17th century. It was an amazing visit with a very good tour guide that knew a lot of the history of the mansion and the history of Saint Malo.
Hugo G — Google review
I anticipated that the tour would not be accessible to non French speakers but I was not prepared for a whole hour just spent in 3 rooms - I was very disappointed not to see more than the ground floor (rather than the 56 rooms advertised) but I couldnt stand up any longer ! My feeling was that the lengthy (interminable) explanations were (way) too long even for French speakers. Sadly I left after an hour - my choice ! Just couldn’t take any more …. Re bathroom - no toilet paper and basin sink bin overflowing with yesterday’s used towels. Madame was 10 mins late opening up so maybe they had a problem 🤷🏻‍♀️ if you don’t speak French I would say don’t go - this is a real pity as I didn’t lack interest or realise the rarity of the maison.
Sally W — Google review
Translated by our guide was a very detailed and animated description of St Mali's days related to privateering.
Marla W — Google review
Disappointing Tour for Non-French Speaking Tourists Review: I was very excited to visit the "Demeure de Corsaire" in Saint-Malo because of my great interest in the history of privateers. Unfortunately, the tour was a huge disappointment. Firstly: The entire tour is exclusively in French. There are no indications that other languages are not supported. As a tourist, you feel misled when you only find out upon entering the museum that you won’t understand anything if you don’t speak French. Secondly: There is no information or warning that the tour is only in French before you purchase the tickets. Given the rather high ticket prices, I would have at least expected an audio guide or a written summary in English. Instead, you end up stuck with expensive tickets without being able to enjoy even a fraction of the tour's value. Thirdly: When I brought this up with the staff, I was brushed off in a very unfriendly and arrogant manner. There was no willingness to help or provide alternative solutions to make at least part of the experience comprehensible. I cannot recommend this museum if you do not speak French. It is really a shame that such a historically significant place is not better suited to international visitors. Saint-Malo has many other attractions that are much more welcoming. Avoid the "Demeure de Corsaire" if you are planning a pleasant and informative visit.
Leonard L — Google review
It's a nice, historic house but it's inhabited and so it cannot be visited in its entirety. It was an okayish experience but would not repeat it. The owner is either a historian or very passionate about (local) history and takes tourists around the house, providing details about French corsairs and their sea interactions with the English and the Spanish. He doesn't like to be contradicted or challenged.
Andreea S — Google review
All visits are guided and in French only. Much of it concerns the history of the corsairs.
James K — Google review
Excellent visit with a well informed, funny, entertaining, engaging and patient guide who made history come to life by telling us surprising stories, enacting scenes and revealing secrets of times gone by + answering lots of questions and giving plenty of explanations and details. Despite the house itself and displays being limited to several rooms, the visit was made memorable and enriching; the corsairs suddenly seemed approachable and their adventures intertwined with day to day life, were described with insightful and rich historical background. The rise and fall and rise again of the town of Saint Malo makes for a fascinating story. A very enjoyable visit (in French) that I would highly recommend.

Les Remparts de Saint-Malo, also known as the walls of Saint-Malo, are a historic and picturesque feature of this coastal town. Built between the 12th and 18th centuries to protect the town from invasions and pirate attacks, these mighty walls played a crucial role during World War II. Walking along the 2 km stretch of ramparts offers stunning views of the old city and the English Channel.
Walking here is a fantastic experience, allowing you to observe the beautiful sea. At sunset, the walls transform into a dreamlike landscape.

Not completely overrun so far! Gives you a great understanding of old town structures and has a super nice flair! Just beat the crowd and be early there to get one of the parking spots outside of the city center.

No tickets necessary. Just over a mile to walk round. Steps up to the top of the ramparts. Beautiful views of the town and sea

Historical & Landmark Saint-Malo walls This is a great place to come and visit. It is free of charge, so all you have to do is find one of the staircases leading you to the walkway the wardens & guards would have taken to check if the enemy was not coming ;) This is also a fantastic viewpoint and it is really good to start your visit of SM here as it does give you a perspective of the whole city somehow (obviously talking here about the intramuros part). The views were great & the walk is fantastic specially on a good day. Highly recommended!

This city is just one of a kind. It’s really crowded during the weekends and you think their is enough parking but their isn’t haha. We stayed a whole week to check out everything and it was really worth it. Go their during summer or during fall if you wanna see the big waves

A very interesting place to visit. Although the narrow streets could get claustrophobic if spending too much time there. Absolutely full of restaurants. We took the wee tourist train which gives a good look round without getting lost!

(Translated by Google) The construction of the castle was ordered by Duke John V of Brittany in 1424. Only the "Small Keep" and the western curtain wall are earlier: they date from the 14th century. Built between the 15th and 18th centuries, this proud castle has been listed as a historic monument since July 1886. During the reign of Louis XIV, Vauban carried out alterations and had the two buildings built along the north and east walls in the late 17th and early 18th centuries. He also reinforced the Bastion de la Galère, shaped like a ship's prow, at the far east. In the Great Keep, there is access to a very interesting museum, the "Museum of the History of the City and the Pays Malouin". Saint-Malo Town Hall and municipal services are housed in the barracks added by Vauban. (Original) La construction du château a été décidée par le duc Jean V de Bretagne en 1424. They can be seen from the castle wall and even visited at low tide. The town itself was founded as a settlement around the 1st century AD. It was destroyed many times, especially during World War II. The town has many cafes serving traditional Brittany crepes. It's a truly memorable experience, especially when you delve into the history of the town and its people. Douce France où la mer qu'on voit danser:) It's really a wonderful place, unique, but also one of many beautiful places in northern France. There is this certain vibe there, this sort of wild, sauvage feel to these places. Maybe it's a feeling of freedom, or the incredible history that is preserved by the marvelous architecture?

At 3 km long, it is the largest sandy beach in Saint-Malo. The dike was built from 1883 to 1913 on an old sandy beach. With a length of 1671 meters, it runs along the Grande plage lined with numerous villas built at the end of the 19th century. Along the Sillon, a line of breakwaters protects the dike from the force of the waves. Built at the beginning of the 19th century, the oaken breakwaters have a depth at least equal to or even greater than their visible height.

Grande Plage du Sillon is the largest beach and was voted the most beautiful beach in France in 2018. It stretches over three kilometers of fine sand and connects two neighborhoods of the city - Intra-Muros and Parame. During high tide, the beach completely disappears, and during low tide, it becomes a very wide beach.

Visitors can easily access this hidden gem by strolling out from Le Benetin restaurant in Rotheneuf, where breathtaking views of Saint-Malo Bay and Cap Frehel await.

4.7/10. We arrived early for our booking but were prompty seated and the service begun. We had the long version of the menu, and at first were presented with a nice and crispy bread with toppings as a complement, delicious and rustic. There were some minor hiccups with the service: we did not receive a wine list immediately and were left guessing. This was soon corrected. I think we interacted with 3 people, all friendly and helpful. Language skills varied, but as a foreigner to France i do not expect to have a fully english service. For a Michelin rated place, i would appreciate a consideration for international visitors though, as there are bound to be many. English on the menu would be cool, but it works as it is. The wine pairings were really good, and all the wines excelled in their role. I got several hints of what to look for in stores. I don't know if there is a sommelier, but if there is, he/she should be commended for good work. The output: lighting was subtle but adequate to see the food presentation in full detail. No disrupting music. Just the sounds of diners. Cutlery and the china was cool and varied, enhancing every particular dish and creating a theme, almost a journey with a clear crescendo. The food was a mixed bag, but everything was thoughtfully, and even artfully, prepared. Ingredients were fresh and there were several innovative combinations of flavours that piqued our interest. The pigeon was a masterpiece of culinary perfection. The dessert (chocolate varietee kind) was pretty, but lacked contrast for its sweetness. The cheese dish at the end was delicious, but the contrasting sweet element was too subtle and buried at the bottom. We were also left perplexed with the greens in this dish, but concluded it was an effort to represent transition from mains to dessert. I have to say, the ravioli was the single greatest ravioli i have had in all my life. Applause for that. True perfection. All in all, we enjoyed the experience, the freshness, the art, the thought put into this. Wonderful, and most importantly, thought provoking.

When you visit a Michelin starred restaurant you expect to get delicious food, beautiful presentation and impeccable service. Unfortunately, Saint Placide failed in all 3 of them. We took the most extensive tasting menu and out of 11 dishes. Possibly 2 were good (the lobster and the meat dish at the end). The other 9 were between mediocre to nothing. Dishes were mostly tasteless (or way too salty), presentation was not appealing at all, nothing sophisticated about the dishes. When even the desert looked like a mousse of chocolate with granola (seriously?!?) and not even a good one... I wonder how you can ruin a desert in a country where pastries and sweets are incredible in any, around the corner, boulangerie even in the most remote towns in the country. Service was also below average. Definitely, not a fine dining experience. Menu only in French (even though 50% of customers were non-French speaking). The waitresses were mainly serving the food. Hardly, any interaction with the guests. Very brief explanation about the food and the general feeling is that they were just taking orders and making sure that you get your dish. Once they even confused us with another table and served us the same dish again (which again is not a big deal but still). Then you ask for water, just still water. You get their own filtered water, it costs 6 euros for 750 ml... ok, but then again - you serve yourself the water. So, we finished our glasses and then you would imagine that somebody would refill you water glass... eh eh not at Saint Placide. At a certain moment we even finished the water bottle and we had to ask for another bottle...Nobody even noticed that our glasses and bottle are empty. When I go to a regular restaurant I would be absolutely ok with that, but for a Michelin starred restaurant with a price tag of 500+ Euros for 2 people - we would expect something else. Overall, a mediocre experience, tasteless food, bad presentation, below average service. Completely overpriced. (More than 250 Euros per person).

Amazing experience at Saint-Placide! The dining room is beautiful and, even though full, the noise level was perfect. Service was quite thoughtful, friendly, and informative. The food was amazing. Each dish was beautifully presented, delicious and with a little surprise taste you didn't expect but enjoyed. Highly recommend, we loved it!

We had vegetarian course and seafood course. Every single dish was great, but especially the potato mille-feuille was perfect. I felt the vegetarian course special, so I still remember the dishes after couple of months.

Delicious food - however, only three stars for me as we were disappointed by the service. For example: - Our carafe of water was never refilled during the entire meal - We waited 20 mins to get our bill. We saw people from another table that also waited a while, and only got their bill after their son went to get one of the staff as they couldn’t get their attention otherwise - Other Michelin-starred restaurants we’ve tried in France offered an English translation of the menu, but here they have none. We asked the staff for help translating - during the meal they gave English descriptions for some but not all dishes. Consequently, non-French speakers may not enjoy the experience as much - Staff didn’t ask us how we found the meal. This may be a simple gesture but would still be appreciated as it shows concern for the customer experience It’s a shame because the food was good. It would have been a better experience if the staff were more attentive to the needs of the customers.

Headed in there for Christmas lunch and we had the menu gourmand. Absolutely gorgeous design as well as set quite peculiar. We started with the oyster and truffle paired with muscadet and to be honest not fun of it but the course itself was well structured and well presented then had foie gras with sauternes also well presented and balanced the only thing I didn't appreciate that there was some nerve leftovers into it . After that beautiful scallops with truffle Again I'd say mainly good and It went fantastically good with condrieu ,followed by hommard (longustine) with cauliflower and smoked sauce was fine. We ended up savoury with twist on club sandwich made with comte and guess what truffle again frankly I didn't mind but a bit boring. Dessert we had a chocolate mousse with cream and different texture of ingredients that played of good rule on the presentation but I didn't aspect the flavour that wasn't great. Great service by the way super polite and friendly. Fantastic wine list and anyway quite good value for money. I'd come back.

Delicious food, beautiful presentation and cosy atmosphere. We went for the lunch special and were not disappointed. The fish was cooked perfectly, the flavours well balanced and nicely complimented by the wine. The clam soup for amuse-bouche was very original. The service was excellent. Highly recommended!

Restaurant
Located in a charming 17th-century building in the heart of the old town, Restaurant l'Absinthe seamlessly combines traditional and contemporary elements. The cozy space features exposed stone walls and stylish decor, creating a romantic atmosphere. The menu offers creatively plated French cuisine with Japanese influences, such as foie gras with seaweed and tomato compote, line-caught yellow pollock with homemade pesto, and poultry supreme with Thai sauce.
A true french experience if you like fish. The food was excellent with surprising taste and lots of details and the service also made us enjoy our dining more. The presentation was aesthetically pleasing and the portions were perfect if you enjoy a three course meal without feeling too full. I highly recommend the saint pierre fish and the raspberry pavlova.

Exceptional cuisine and execution. The melon and ham, while simple, introduced a world of complexity when presented with the stone-fruit compote and balsamic reduction. The duck breast was expertly seared and plated with care. The star of the show, however, was the ceremonial service of my glass of absinthe, done in the ancient style, complete with dripping fountain and spoon. I thought such a practice had been abandoned a century ago. It was fun to re-live those times, if not for a night.

Amazing experience from the beginning to the end. Service is professional and human. Food was great, an excellent "quasi de veau", everything contains an element of surprise inside a good choice of products and tastes. Wine pairing was not what I expected but still a nice addition to a perfect dinner.

A truly wonderful dining experience A very attractive setting in the first floor and basement of an older building. Walls a mix of beams, columns and arches of wood in a slate grey stain with walls of stacked flat stone. Lighting gave a warm ambiance. Wait staff was attentive, timely and very well versed in the menu and wine selections. We started with a bottle of Bordeaux and the wonderful house baked whole wheat baguette and creamy butter. The appetizers were excellent! Monkfish Gravlax was slightly salty and herby with kaffir line oil and a fresh salad of orange and grapefruit supremes for sweet, acid bite and balance. Beef Tataki was thin, rate strips of seared beef with julienned carrots, zucchini and pickled daikon radish. All in a great teriyaki sauce. Both wonderful mix of flavors. Mains were equally impressive. A saddle of lamb Ballontine style - a stuffing of breadcrumbs, aromatic vegetables with a thyme laced au jus. Sides of carrots and broccoli and sliced potatoes. The lamb was perfectly pink with the moist, flavorful filling. Croaker Rossini Style was a skin-on portion seared crisp with a Rossini sauce (rich deglaze of fish pan juices and Madeira) poured over the fish and a seared slice of foie gras. A flavorful risotto al dente with steamed vegetables. All merged together wonderfully. The dessert was called the Rock - a scoop of praline chocolate mousse with a heart of caramel and peanuts in a dark chocolate ganache shell with fluer de sel ice cream beside. Oh, so decadent! Be warned, you must order before your meal starts as it takes 45 minutes of prepare this masterpiece! A truly wonderful dining experience! Suggest you make reservations.

We spent two weeks in France, one in Paris and one in Normandy and visited many fabulous restaurants (one being a Michelin) and we must admit, our meal at L’Absinthe was our favorite. We chose the wine/meal pairing menu for lunch and every course along with the wine was perfect! The plates were not only beautifully prepared but also delicious. If you’re in Saint Malo we highly recommend that you visit!

Nice designed restaurant and tasty food. There’s no chance if you don’t make reservation. In general good experience but have to point out: - Long waiting time for each course (after 9pm) - Paired wine sometimes forgotten/served late; - My main dish is cold with dry pasta (waiter professionally apologized but instead of serving a new one, they just heated it up - noodle even more dry) We didn’t make a drama because I am really hungry and I don’t want to wait again. - Didn’t receive Amuse-bouche (maybe it’s different in the north) We still give 4 star because food is really tasty and we want to help the restaurant to improve rather than only complaining.
Chris Z — Google review
The restaurant was nice and calm. The waiters were welcoming and accommodating. The price is a little bit expensive for what we experienced but not excessive. The starter was very nice. The fish was good too. The lamb chop dish was not impressive. It was okay but nothing special about it. The worse part was one out of 3 lamp chops was very very very very dry and hard. It seems like it was reheated multiple times. You can see on the photo how it looks very different from the other 2. Worst part of the meal was the dessert. The center was frozen hard rock (frozen cream, it was disgusting in the mouth). Worst than that was the caramel was burnt black and was extremely bitter. 2 stars for the place and the service. It was an okay experience but I don’t think I will come back.
Christelle Q — Google review
Very disappointed by their 59€ menu. Overpriced for food pairings that weren’t great. For this price we could’ve gotten much better food elsewhere!!! The entrée oyster was marinated and too sour, pairing with sour marinated vegetable was not a good idea. I could only finish 1/4 of the dish. The fish was tender and delicious. The cheese plate was good. The risotto that came with scallops was way too soft and watery. Dessert was just cut up fruit with an overly sweet sauce. Although the service was very friendly, it was very slow. It took us 4+ hours to finish dinner because there was a group of 40 that night.

Le Chalut is a renowned restaurant in Saint-Malo, offering inventive Breton cuisine with a focus on local, seasonal ingredients. The elegant venue features pastoral murals and provides a warm atmosphere for a romantic dining experience. Specializing in fresh seafood from local waters, including roasted sole, marinated monkfish, and scallops, this Michelin-starred gourmet fish restaurant also offers some unique daily catches.
Wonderful experience! The menu was exceptionally made for us on request. Fresh an quality food very well prepared. The service was carefully made with explanations about the dishes and a lot of attention. Thank you to the two owners and the staff ! I highly recommend

Le Chalut provides an excellent dining experience, all local seafood paired with all local vegetables, herbs, fruits, and flowers. Tastes were all exquisite and well-matched. One note: a reservation apparently is an absolute must, which we found to be a bit of a logistical challenge until our hotel finally was successful in getting in touch. If you’re already in St-Mało a day or two before, easiest may be to stop by and make a reservation in person!

Naturally when in France, eating in a Michelin Starred restaurant is a must. This was no exception and we are so glad that we made a reservation here. From the service during reservation, to welcome and through the whole evening the service was impeccable. The food, a different level and amazing. Simply amazing. Bravo to the chef and his wife who delivered it with outstanding service. Definitely recommended and will sure be back when in town again.

It was all of the Michelin ⭐️ experience that you could want! There was a 3 or 4 course choice menu and optional cocktails and wine pairing. Such a beautiful evening. She explained every course and each was so unique from the area.

You don't have to trust other people's verdict on the food because we all have different taste at the time. But just look at the food if you could and it was a feast! The service was great and you also get mini dishes between the dishes that we ordered so it was really almost too much to eat. Don't order a lot if you're not hungry! Will def recommend it to anyone. Enjoy!

Located in the picturesque town of Saint-Malo, Comptoir Breizh Café offers a unique gastronomic experience that combines Breton traditions with Japanese refinement. This renowned restaurant is famous for its 100% organic buckwheat galettes, delicious crepes, and a wide selection of ciders. The menu features local products such as Cancale oysters and Bordier butter presented with contemporary touches.
Wow, I dreamed of coming here after reading the books on crêpes and galettes, and I was not disappointed. Everything was not only beautiful, but the crepes and galettes were mind-blowing. We enjoyed this delicious family lunch so much, everyone loved every single dish. Also the cider was delicious!!!!
Olivier S — Google review
Despite of their more interesting combination of ingredients, the galette wasn’t as good as expected for the price in terms of flavor and quantity compared to other restaurants in the area. About the atmosphere, the dinning space wasn’t comfortable or spacious. The service was quick and lacked of explanations when we asked for recommendations. Maybe the strength of the restaurant lies in their variety of wines and ciders, more than on the food. However, the cider was served open on the counter instead of on the table, and they didn’t wait for us to taste it.
Paula — Google review
Fantastic small restaurant specializing in Breton gallettes and crepes. I'm not an expert, but I think they extend traditional dishes slightly with different ingredients. For example, I had one with chorizo. That said there is no question for me that the execution is excellent. Definitely the best gallettes I've ever eaten (again, small sample size). I did not try the sweet crepes, but I would be surprised if they were not top notch as well. My only regret was I did not try the seaweed butter. At least so I could say I did. They also have an extensive catalog of ciders. The server guided me to a brut that was excellent. Speaking of the service, they were extremely friendly and patient with my pathetic attempts at using french words in a random order. I felt welcome as a solo diner seated at the bar, which was appreciated. I did not have a reservation, but it seems like that would be a good idea. I thought given the density of creperies in Saint-Malo it would not be necessary, but next time I'll make one just to be sure. If you are in Saint-Malo intra-muros (inside the walls?) and need some Briton food, highly recommend. Bon appetit!
Jason J — Google review
It was lovely to be back at the Café. As always, the food was original and delicious. The service was attentive without being intrusive. Only point of improvement would be to avoid leaving the door wedged open on a rainy and windy evening - especially as our table was right adjacent. This was resolved with no fuss by our very friendly waitress.
Rod P — Google review
Everything about the food and cider and service was wonderful, just as we remembered from years ago but we found the experience a little spoilt by being seated between two families with very young children who were quite disruptive. Not sure how that could be remedied other than having different rooms. Such an exclusive café was being treated like a bit like a creche.
Amanda J — Google review
It is not your regular creperie. And by being recommended by the Michelin guide, our expectations were high, but nothing to worry about as everything we had was delicious! From the snacks and little pickle salad, to their rolls and galettes. Maybe not cheap, but if you are after quality over quantity, this is your place. I could even enjoy several plates as a vegetarian. True gem in St Malo!💓

Breizh Café, Saint-Malo » Category: bistro for galettes and crêpes » Visited July 2025 » My scores for this restaurant, always in relation to its category: › Service: 3.4/5 › Food: 4.7/5 › Wine: 4.7/5 › Presentation: 2.2/5 › Premises and wellbeing: 2.6/5 › Price to performance ratio: 2.9/5 » Total score: 3.7/5 » Comment: I think they serve very good food and wine. However, in my opinion, you have to put up with a whole range of inconveniences to get this. In particular, I found the waiting times almost unbearable. Then there was the noise (including their inappropriate “music”), the seating arrangement, which I found took some getting used to, the uncomfortable bar stools and finally quite some shortcomings in the service. Truly disappointing. Truly disappointing. I only gave two stars because the young woman who greeted us was very kind and welcomed us without any hesitation, but as others have mentioned, the food was dry and tasteless. We even got annoyed by two little flies. The reason for this restaurant being listed in the Michelin Guide is unclear to me.

We were a little disappointed by this place. We came based on the high overall ratings. The decor was fine, but smelled a little of cigarettes. Food was mediocre, 15 euros for dried pasta (instead of fresh pasta as it says on the menu) is steep. There was one guy serving the restaurant. He did his best but we had to flag him down when we needed him. Overall a little bit of a let down.

It’s a great place for seafood. It was a bit warm inside, so we sat outside and enjoyed the amazing view. We paid €115 for a large seafood platter (with oysters, crab, shrimp, crayfish, etc.) and two glasses of wine.

Nice restaurant at the port. Although we came without a reservation, the staff was very welcoming and found a nice table for us. We both had the Menu du Mole for €38, which was great value for money! For starters I ordered the Assiette de fruits de mer, sorted sea food, which was very well served. For the main course I had the Moules frite, also very well served and beautifully seasoned. My husband ordered beef tataki as a starter, he said it was really good with a great bitter sweet sauce. As main he ordered the beef tartare, that was prepared at the table (great surprise for us as we had never seen it before ☺️) The mango ice-cream we ordered for dessert was a little disappointing, we were expecting something lighter and fresher. The atmosphere could use a bit more music, if they had it on I could not remember. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for the great value for money, well served portions, delivery in flavour and great staff!

Apart from the homemade bread appetizer, everything was super tasty! We ordered three different menus to try a variety of dishes, and everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The view from the restaurant was stunning! Just a quick note — if you’re a group of more than two, you can’t sit at the tables right in front of the ocean, but it’s not a problem since the tables for three or more people are higher up and still offer a great view.

Everything was super good. Very welcoming and friendly ladies with very good service. We had Moules & Fries (17€) and Poisson du jour (fish of the day)(25€) sparkling water (6€). Highly recommend when in St.Malo

Absolutely value of money and one of the best Michelin recommended seafood restaurant in St Malo. We just visited here on a busy Saturday night, which order 2 dinner set. But surprisingly every dishes of the course are excellently prepared, with fresh oyster, and nice fish soup. The coconut based sauce with fish is very appealing, which is somehow unforgettable. Staff are extremely friendly with excellent command in English.

Great food at a great price. The seafood plate is delicious, the cop fish is tender and tasty, and everything is better than my expectation. And the waiter is confident and talkative which is a great place to have a meal in Saint-Malo for sure.

The mussels with caramelized onion sauce were amazing and so fresh! The service was excellent as well. I definitely recommend on a trip to Saint-Malo.

The chef has received numerous accolades and infuses Asian spices into the dishes. The restaurant is recommended for its special kids menu and pleasant ambiance. It is located within the ramparts of St Malo and offers a simple dining area with attentive service.
Very nice restaurant, I loved the oysters and the excellent scallops with risotto. Also a small detail, the bread was outstanding. We had a wonderful family dinner

Very cozy atmosphere! The host was very welcoming and attentive to pregnancy diet restrictions. The food was excellent, the photos cannot show it enough! Totally recommend ♥️

Excellent restaurant with a bib gourmand recognition by the Michelin restaurant guide. Food was flavourful, Straight-forward and unpretentious. Fresh ingredients, excellent oysters. Cream, butter, sugar. If you want an upscale frech dining experience without the triple price of an actual Michelin star, head here. Reserve ahead, the place fills quickly after 7pm. We had a lovely night! Thanks to our quick and friendly servers!

Beautiful food & wine prepared and served by professionals. We ended up ordering more than expected and there is no regret! I could resonate with their philosophy of simplicity and precision and every dish was a pleasant surprise. Look forward to visiting them again

Nice restaurant with great food and very kindly service staff! Please note that you order here only course menus and not single dishes. The food selection is there well optimized on the taste and you will love it! Even our three kids (9 to 13) ate all of theirs course and love it! Price is in a very acceptable range, based on where you're and the high quality of the ingredients.

Wonderful meal in a restaurant with good ambience and attentive waiting staff. We had two different fish main courses and they were both excellent - super fresh. The staff handled a restaurant that had mainly non French customers with consideration and respect. The cheese course was delicious with some honey and salad on the side and the lemon meringue was greatly appreciated by my husband. Well done Le Cambusier - we will be back.

Le Cambusier, Saint-Malo » Category: everyday restaurant » Visited: July 2025 » My scores for this restaurant, always in relation to its category: › Service: 4.7/5 - very good › Food: 4.8/5 - very good › Wine: 4,8/5 - very good › Presentation: 4.3/5 - good › Premises: 4,4/5 - good to very good › Price to performance ratio: 4.7/5 - very good » Total score: 4.7/5 - very good » Comment: In my opinion, the restaurant serves very good food and wines. I would like to emphasize the starter with mackerel, which I thought was outstanding.
S K — Google review
Located inside Saint-Malo’s charming intramuros, Le Cambusier offers a refined yet varied menu, making it a standout among Michelin-recommended options. We enjoyed the gazpacho de dorade, fresh cabillaud with an aromatic Asian-inspired sauce, and lieu with perfectly gratinéed cauliflower — all cooked with precision and served fresh. Dessert was a crisp, airy millefeuille with a light cream and balanced sweetness. The wine list is well-curated with options across price ranges. Prices are a bit above average, but the quality, execution, and location make it well worth it. 🌟 Pros: Fresh, perfectly cooked fish, creative flavors, great dessert, excellent wine selection, prime location intramuros. 🚫 Cons: Slightly pricier than average, but justified by quality.

Bistro Autour du Beurre Bordier is a renowned establishment located in Saint-Malo, France. It is associated with the master butter maker and cheese merchant Jean-Yves Bordier, who also operates La Maison du Beurre. The bistro is well-regarded for its excellent offerings and is situated near other notable dining spots such as Bistrot du Rocher and Kaboul, known for Afghan cuisine.
Everything was perfect! We have eaten here many times over the last few years, and every meal is an utter delight--from the complimentary amuse-bouche, to the 8 different kinds of butter, all the way to the scrumptious dessert. It is also very easy to make reservations online.

An incredibly unique and delicious pairing menu centered around different artisan butters and lobster. 🦞 🧈 Each four dishes, simply superb. Amazing subtle changes to normal flavors with the selected butters (Madagascar vanilla, raspberry, chili, truffle. Excellent service and a beautiful white wine selected by the head waiter. I would have loved a more generous pour on the champagne; it was pretty short. Wonderful meal from start to finish. Highly recommended.
Cathy C — Google review
We had a delicious meal here, butter and bread is fantastic as a few posters have mentioned. Lady that served us was very nice...attentive enough without being intrusive. Relaxed feeling restaurant, looks very cool only suffered from lack of customers on the night we were there (Tuesday) which is a shame as people are missing out on some lovely food. Not cheap but a good quality dining experience
Philipos — Google review
We had an amazing dinner for our wedding anniversary. All the dishes we had were simply delicious, not to mention a selection of 8 different butters. It was a very nice experience and we will return if we are in the area again. It is recommended to book a table.

Had an absolutely delicious meal here. Started with yummy bread and a sampler of the most delicious butter. Followed this with the duck which was melt in your mouth delicious. Service was excellent. Highly recommend you dine here if you get a chance
Lyn F — Google review
Excellent food in a very nice environment with friendly service. Lunch menus are varied (though having two choices for the main dish would be great) and fairly priced. The butter plate that every table receives along with delicious bread is a highlight!

Such a fantastic experience and meal. It’s a very cool restaurant with an excellent menu. Honestly, one of the best meals I’ve had in quite sometime. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable. I’ll be dreaming about the butter for months after this fantastic experience.

Excellent in every way (food, wine, service and charming interior). The assortment of flavored butters was impressive and we ate more bread and butter than ever before. The lamb and terrine were great.

Regional airport
Guernsey Airport is a small hub serving Channel Island and some European flights. The island itself is known for its beautiful beaches and rugged cliffs, making it a popular destination for walkers. The walking routes in Guernsey are enjoyed by both locals and visitors, offering stunning views of the surrounding areas. The airport offers clean facilities and a smooth check-in process, although it can get busy during peak season.
An excellent experience on our long weekend away. Security was fast and efficient. Reasonable prices in duty free. Staff were very friendly. Almost new car in immaculate condition from Sixt. Best of all was super-friendly and efficient Sixt manager, James Spencer. A real credit to his company. We will return and our rental company is already assured!!

I dont have any particularly strong views on the actual airport but the cafe does a brilliant cappuccino and enjoyable hot chocolate. 1 good thing about the airport is that you can be out of the building in about 5 minutes from the airplane wheels touching the ground. Staff are friendly and the airport has a relaxed feel to it, much like the whole island
Ace R — Google review
Run of the mill airport with not too many eateries but really clean toilet facilities and well maintained boarding area. The checkin process is smooth but given the small space I can imagine the airport would be getting really busy during peak season. Do know that you won’t get any food options until you check in since there’s only one cafe at the boarding lounge.
Ankit M — Google review
It’s your generic small airport. There is only drama if you cause it. One moody employee that was triggered by a family because they scanned the wrong boarding pass so their dad couldn’t get through, peak entertainment. Tiny little cafe but to be honest it has some good food/drink options. Covered in scaffolding at the moment so the viewing area is kind of pointless. Buses can take you literally anywhere. Security staff aren’t egotistical 18 year olds with no future. They are super chill older generation folk that didn’t scream at you for doing something wrong. All the airport staff in general were super chill except triggered lady. Airport wifi works a treat, managed to watch the F1 without it buffering at all.
Ryan E — Google review
We were delayed due to fog and instead of keeping going to the checkin desk for updates, the lady said that there is a cottage at the end of the runway and when you can see the cottage then flights will resume. Great information as we just needed to see the cottage and then make way to checkin that was then open.
Ross H — Google review
Very small airport to reach this small island of Guernsey. Aurigny has a virtual almost monopoly on flights here, so tickets can be pricey even for short distances across the channel to England. There is bus service from town to the airport frequently and it’s the most affordable option to get here. There is no lounge at the airport and security doesn’t open far in advance as the airport is small and sees limited flights. There is free and fast wifi easy to connect.
Y B — Google review
Lovely small and friendly airport with clean facilities and a great water bottle filling station in the departure lounge. Efficient security process where you don't have to take out liquids or devices.
Lynette H — Google review
About what you expect from a small airport - basic and not many creature comforts. Boarding and disembarking is easy - just a short stroll across the tarmac and then down a double corridor to/from the main terminal. Did not experience baggage processing but it looked reasonably efficient. Time from disembarking to being out front about 5 minutes with no luggage. Taxis outside - friendly and readily available. Departures is very basic. Seating is hard and uniform. The 'VIP' area is not segregated and just the same as the rest of the lounge. Duty free (of course) and that is about it. Reasonable size eatery but did not try this. They are apparently putting in new carpeting during 2018. Flights are called and you leave promptly - no need for long wait times or queuing. Security - again very basic with the usual processes. Could be quite a queue if a lot of people arrive all together as there is only one desk to check credentials before scanning. Take off is very quick - you are in the air within 3 to 4 minutes. Locals say that the landing/takeoff can be quite 'exciting' at times and there are delays due to weather.

Aéroport Rennes Bretagne

International airport
Airport
Rennes Bretagne Airport, while not as picturesque as its surroundings, is a practical choice for business travelers or those on long layovers. The airport offers easy access and car rental services within walking distance from the terminal exit. It's well-served by buses with a 30-minute ride to downtown Rennes. This quiet and clean airport provides a convenient and uncrowded travel experience, making it a pleasant alternative to larger airports.
I really like Rennes airport. First for its location, which saves me half the time than going to Nantes. I'm so happy that Easyjet added the route to Manchester, which is very convenient. I recommend all my visitors fly in and out of this airport too. Its small, personal and friendly with convenient and affordable parking.
Bev W — Google review
A small but pleasant airport. Basic amenities but sufficient for the number of flights departing. The staff were friendly throughout both arrival and departure. Toilets could be a little nicer.
James W — Google review
We took the flight from London to Rennes and out with easyJet. Arrival: The passport control is efficient. Easy to get out. There is a bus C6 going to the city centre. You can just use contactless and press Oui on the screen. Departure: The waiting area is very small, there aren’t many seats available after the passport control. There are only 2 toilets after passport control. I couldn’t see any water fountains here. The child facilities are not great.
J. Q — Google review
Really not impressed. 3 of us were travelling to Manchester all 3 we are autistic and my daughter has Sen and is deaf. We booked special assistance with easy jet. No help through security who I found quite chaotic and abrupt. But the worst is when you get through there is nowhere to sit and soooo hot!!! Although we had booked assistance this was really bad for our flight from Rennes as we all got penned in a holding area at side of tarmac like a greenhouse no toilets no Aircon no drinks no seats.. told us nothing for about ten minutes... we felt like a nuisance there wasn't even any staff to ask what going on. Not good for autistic people also there was a blind girl and her mother sat in the floor in baking sun and old folk in wheelchairs it was really not suitable. Me and my daughter were very stressed and needed the toilet. When we were eventually took to the outside to board plane the staff member did at least apologise for wait. But I have to say it did not feel very secure having to walk unaided across the tarmac for quite a distance. At least we boarded in plenty of time and the easyJet staff very friendly. One positive thing though- when we arrived the previous week we had left an item on the plane and staff at airport were very friendly helping us get it back. Please just improve your facilities and assistance provision for disabled folk!

Rennes Airport, known as Aéroport de Rennes Bretagne, serves as a vital and compact gateway to the picturesque region of Brittany. The airport is recognised for its efficiency and manageable size, making it a convenient choice for travellers. Its modern yet welcoming atmosphere provides a more relaxed travel experience than larger airports, with streamlined check-in and security processes that lead to minimal wait times, particularly outside peak seasons. Despite its smaller scale, Rennes Airport offers a good selection of essential services, including several cafés for light meals and refreshments and a shop for last-minute items and souvenirs. Complimentary Wi-Fi and car rental services are easily accessible, facilitating exploration of the broader Brittany area. While it may not boast extensive shopping or dining options, it meets the key needs for a comfortable travel experience. The airport is known for its cleanliness and is conveniently located just a few kilometres from the centre of Rennes, ensuring quick and easy transfers. Public transport options, especially buses, provide direct connections to the city, offering travellers without cars an economical way to travel. Taxis are also readily available for those who prefer them. The airport's parking facilities are adequate, and there are both short-stay and long-stay options to cater to various travel needs. Overall, Rennes Airport is particularly suited for those seeking a hassle-free journey, whether to enjoy Brittany’s charming towns and beautiful coastline or to depart from the region. Its smaller scale and efficient operations make it especially appealing to families and business travellers, fulfilling its role as an effective regional connector and providing an enjoyable start or conclusion to trips in Brittany.
Dan N — Google review
The security is exaggerated in comparison to other airports. They take away even viscous pastes like creme du chocolat, not only liquids. Also they take out almost the whole toiletry bag, no matter the recipients are smaller than 50ml. So be ready to unpack everything and lose delicacies. The only good thing is that it gets you to Bretagne.
Alma C — Google review
Small yet the most incompetent company at the security. Rennes Aiport has outsourced its security to a company called Safesquare. 6 personel for a single queue and a level of inefficiency unmatched even in comparison with a third world country airport. We literally waited 30 minutes to have our bags double-checked.
S W — Google review
small and fast but they do throw away the creme de noisette 100ml although there is a big poster mentioning that artizanal products up to 100ml are good to pass

Jersey Airport is the primary gateway to the Bailiwick of Jersey, serving a large number of passengers traveling to and from Europe annually. The island offers a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere with beautiful beaches, charming villages, and delectable seafood. As a self-governing territory with stable governance and independent financial systems, Jersey provides an attractive environment for both personal wealth protection and business opportunities.
A really friendly and efficient airport. Easy to negotiate. Travelled Blue Island from Jersey to EMA. Even managed to pick up some Jersey Royals (new potatoes) on the way through.

Small airport, super efficient. Has what you need on site. Parking available, car hire on site. Local bus service runs to St Hellier regularly, £2:35 contactless. Doesn't take long to do the necessities when flying.
Thurso L — Google review
Not a great selection of restaurants but for our flight the bag drop was super fast (we had priority due to an older passenger, but the normal queue was still tiny for a bit) and security was quick and quite chilled out, correcting mistakes when standing in the scanner kindly. Very expensive shops (£1.99 for a small tube of starbursts!) But nice staff who helped with the special assistance boarding. 4*
Racerunner1234 — Google review
The staff were helpful, check in was quick and simple. The place was quite small and easy to find your way around. The toilets were clean. There were a few shops to look around, a bar, and a cafe, annoyingly the cafe is card only.
Matthew T — Google review
The airport itself is very good in terms of ease to flow through, location, parking and bus services. The real issue is the unhelpful syaff there the security team that are rude and generally really snappy. They need to understand that not all disabilities are visable and not all people can process written information and signage. Venting frustration at passengers isnt going to help anyone. I witnessed terrible treatment of a lady that couldn't understand the signs given its confusing enough add in a crowd and noise it must have been awful for her. Jersey airport do better
G M — Google review
An excellent airport with excellent facilities for parking, transport, and fir public comfort. The customs, immigration and security procedures are fast and efficient. The arrivals and departures areas are pleasant and well designed. The information displays are well positioned and the announcements are clear and without echoes. 👍👍👍

Fantastic airport, our case was taken off the arrivals carousel by an idiot instead of their own, the team in the airport contacted the owner if the case they left and it was eventually sorted out. Always check you have the correct case, if it wasn't for the great team at the airport, we could have had an awful holiday. Also, busses to and from the airport are great.
David B — Google review
The airport is small with a few shops and cafe, however there is hardly anything to do when waiting for your flight. There used to be a free viewing deck to watch the planes go by. However they shut down the viewing place and made it £30 to enter 😑 Thats a higher price then the average ticket to London gatwick
