Cafe
Restaurant
Café Ome Ko is a charming old-fashioned "bruin" café located in the center near the harbor, offering a simple yet delightful lunch experience. The café features a cozy atmosphere with occasional DJ performances on weekends. Visitors can enjoy tasty tostis and other delicious dishes, such as onion soup and meatballs. The café's large patio provides a great view of passing boats through the rotating bridge.
Love love love this place! You can tell it's been there forever and a favorite place of the locals. The tables are covered with rugs as their table cloths! So cool! Do as the locals do and order the eggs on the bread! Also, try the Bitterballen here! Famous food from Amsterdam. A nice place for lunch and a drink after visiting the castle and strolling the town.

It takes a while to get used to having rugs on the table 🧐 (I have to keep reminding myself, they probably haven’t ever touched ground…) I sailed to Muiden with a late arrival, so when I came here it was ~9.30pm and hungry… Hence I really appreciate the waiter taking the effort to inform the kitchen not to shut down yet. I had the beef satay which was remarkable. Friendly service, nice ambient. I will definitely come back again.

Café Ome Ko in Muiden is a charming spot with a relaxed, waterfront atmosphere that’s perfect for a casual meal or drink. The menu offers a good variety of dishes, and the freshly prepared seafood is a highlight. The staff is friendly and attentive, making you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Whether you’re stopping by after exploring Muiden Castle or just looking for a cozy spot to unwind, this café is a great choice.

Great place, I think rating should be so much higher! Delicious food, great location by the water, friendly staff.

Nice and charming restaurant with a kind of romantic view to the river and the old bridge. Good service and menu also in English available. Very delicious sandwiches and a really local atmosphere.

Loved lunch. Food, service, value, and atmosphere all came together. Highlights included the onion soup, and the meat ball, but everything we ordered was very good. Their big patio has a front row seat to watch the boats pass through the rotating bridge.

Terrible service, had to leave hungry because they refused to provide menus. We eventually got them ourselves, and called them over to take our order. They acknowledged us and proceeded to serve every other table other than ours. Very rude staff and would not recommend. It seemed to be once they realised we did not speak Dutch that they decided not to provide service. In my entire life I’ve never had such an experience and am not likely to return to the city.

We grabbed some lunch right after going to the Muidersloot castle because it had smelled so good as we walked by. The highlight was the appeltaart. Hands down, the best that I've had in The Netherlands. It was so good, we ordered two more pieces. The rest of the food was very good as well. A nice terrace to sit on, right next to the locks, with a beautiful view of the canal. Highly recommended!

Just went in to try and was amazed by the quality of the food. Had the dr aged flank steak, deer fillet and carpaccio. Everything was absolutely delicious. Especially loved loved the deer fillet. Finished with a very nice chocolate lava cake with a very refreshing sorbet. Staff was very friendly. Definitely worth the visit.

Excellent food—get the mustard soup, if it’s on the menu! And the kids “Big Burger” is exceptional, with its truffle mayo. The patio along the canal is lovely. The interior goes on and on, lots of spaces and cute corners and a courtyard and little bar spaces. Worth it!
M P — Google review
Delicious food, friendly but understaffed staff, they were running fast, great place to sit and watch the boats go through the locks. Definitely a place to visit again.
ILONKA H — Google review
Service is unfriendly, impolite and very slow. Wait time for food and drinks was very long. Obviously the waiter forgot about frietjes and we got them only after 30 min and reminding about it. But of course no excuses were coming 🤷‍♀️ The food itself was pretty tasty.
Tetiana P — Google review
Being a skeptical tourist, I didn’t expect to find their fried chicken tenders this juicy and crispy! The restaurant offers a great view by the river as well. A good place to stop by!
Jane S — Google review
Food was really good! I would not have expected any less. And the service was perfect as well. The two hosts were really great and brought in a lot of good ambience. Would certainly go back!! The carpaccio with truffle mayo was my favourite!

Black angus burger is a rip-off. You get a cheap prefabricated patty, nothing to do with a real burger and black angus meat. Service is below average
Andrey U — Google review
Extremely rude waiter, didn’t bring a clean glass for the beer and when complained made a strange face. Don’t recommend this place for customer service and food.

De Poort van Muiden Indonesian Flavors is a charming restaurant that offers delicious, freshly prepared dishes from the Indonesian cuisine with fusion influences. The cozy private terrace adds to the inviting atmosphere of this place. Guests have praised the warm reception and the cozy ambiance resembling a living room, especially during special occasions like Christmas. The menu features a variety of authentic Indonesian dishes such as satay, soup, and rice table which are highly recommended for their flavorful taste.
That was amazing!! So tasty, so cozy, so perfect! Highly recommended for a dinner for 2 or the whole family or just with friends, the rice table was fantastic, so many different plates, all with their own flavor explosions, you can't go wrong!

Whenever we visit or sail to Muiden this is the only place we dine. Bold but fresh flavors that elevate beyond the normal rijsttafel. Enhanced by a cozy garden terrace and attentive, friendly staff. Colourful, candle lit indoor seating. The chef/owners come to check on you too. We are huge fans of Indonesian cooking and this place is one of the best!

Rachid is a great host! We had a really good night in his restaurant. He took us inside even if he was about to close, and we had the chance to discover him, and his amazing food. THANK YOU RACHID

Very delicious rijsstafel, Indonesian and some fusion options. The soto ayam (chicken soup) was a bit weird and our sevrer tried making it again and it was slightly better. He was very attentive so therefor I still give this restaurant 5-star rating.

Delicious Indonezian dishes. Good service and prices.

We ordered food from this place last week and entire weekend both my husband and myself were sick due to the poor quality of the food. When I called the restaurant to inform about it they refused to refund the money or take any action on it. I wouldn't recommend anyone to eat or order at this restaurant.

Wow, the food was excellent! We are sailing, so moored in Muiden near the lock, ordered by phone and picked it up 30 min later. The flavours, the textures... delish!

Restaurant
Located near the Sluisbrug on Amsterdamsestraat, Restaurant De Doelen offers an exclusive French cuisine in a luxurious setting. Visitors can enjoy high-quality meals and cozy service at reasonable prices. The restaurant has garnered praise for its excellent food and attentive staff, making it a great choice for special occasions or business gatherings. While some find the prices to be on the higher side, many agree that the delicious food and beautiful decor make it worth a visit.
This corner restaurant is perfectly situated overlooking the main locks for oceangoing vessels, so it is appropriate that the seafood here is extraordinary. The eclectic interior features art collected and created by the eccentric proprietor, who is focused on quality and not quantity from his kitchen. I’ve seen the complaints about service here but I would dismiss those as the rantings of Burger King troglodytes - stop here for a meal to remember.
John L — Google review
Nice restaurant with beautiful decorations. The price is higher than expected, though. The steak is delicious.
Mini M — Google review
A really nice gem in the heart of Muiden with cozy service and high quality meals for reasonable prices. Will definitely go back.

I arrived at this village by chance while all the restaurants were closed. I read the review of the restaurant and yet I decided to give it a try. The food was excellent. The waitress is gorgeous. For years I haven't gotten any service like here, well I live in Berlin, maybe that's why. And the restaurant owner himself came to ask me if I enjoyed the food. The prices here are expensive and not suitable for everyone, but the food and service are definitely worth it.

Unfortunately, I have to say that we were disappointed. Maybe it was a one off experience, maybe our expectations were just too high, since the restaurant had the Bib gourmand sticker. Food was OK, but not excellent, the service was strange and cold; for a long time, I was giving the gentleman a benefit of a doubt, trying to persuade myself that he was just a little bit eccentric. But in the end I felt unpleasant; the service was not friendly, it was slow and perhaps even a bit rude. We order the Bib gourmand menu, but we were not really sure what we were getting, there was not really much communication. When we asked something, he just turned around and went away, sometimes even before we finished a sentence - I did not know - did he not hear us? Or is this kind of a flamboyant behaviour? We were not offered anything; we felt like we had to keep asking and keep asking. I understand that the gentleman was there alone that night and maybe that was a reason - but I still think you can be friendly and try to make your guests feel good and welcome… There was only one glass of wine - we expected a wine pairing with at least 2 courses - and the gentleman was never there to ask for more. The food, as mentioned, was OK; but there were small things like e.g. crème brûlée with the crust not totally caramelised, the dish not really seasoned well… The place is beautiful and interesting. The house is historical and for sure nice to see and learn about. I really, really wanted to like this restaurant, but it left me with mixed / more negative feelings.

Excellent quality and service, friendly and relaxed setting. A reasonably priced day menu offering a choice from 3 starters, mains and sweets - a starter + main or a main + sweet for under 30 euros. An excellent a la cart caters for a broader pallet but then with a price card to match. At its best in Nice weather with a table outside and for the other 300 days in the year when it's raining in Holland.. Inside is chique - comfortabel. I ate here twice, once with my wife on the terrace, enjoying the summer evening and with a view over the locks and passing sail boats, loved the gravad lax followed with a bavette bernaise. My teenage children joined us on a second visit, and chose the Bavette aswell. Loved the food but found the portions too small - especially having to share a few home made chips and hated the unhurried service. (teenagers don't forget!) We adults however, loved it. An excellent restaurant, a beautiful location and well worth a try. Four stars in place of 5 because teenagers also have an opinion.

Very very very very slow service. Food served was not worth Waiting 1 hour 40 min. Normal from the oven. Also a very special cola they got here ... it took 40 min to serve. I highly recommend this restaurant if you like to waste your time.
Vijendra B — Google review
Loved it. The 3 rating is totally unrealistic due to ex staff with a grudge, sad people. An appropriate rating would be 4+. A great restaurant.

Echt HEMA! Nice store with the normal stuff. Especially like the “rookworst”. The little coffee corner is nice with snacks and drinks. Always busy though!
Rico S — Google review
The store is great but the food/beverage area is a mess. Tables are not cleaned and the floors are dirty, full of spills, used napkins and food.

Me and my wife are liking a song which is created by me and expresses our appreciation for the HEMA shops. Maybe you can consider utilizing the song as a jingle for the HEMA. Hiema, Hiema, Hiema, we all love the Hiema, Hiema, Hiema, Hiema, let’s go to the Hiema 🎶

Decent little place for a short food/drink break. Croissant and sandwiches are mostly fresh with tasty flavour. Pea soup has very pleasant, rich taste while eating, BUT that heavy salted and additive rich sausage inside can cause a stomach pain afterwards. Anyway, you can try and let yourself digest alone :)
Aneta B — Google review
Nice Hema, has lots to offer. Just make sure if you want to drink or eat something or shop in a bit of peace and quiet that you go early or late. Otherwise you'll have lots of people around you (with kids).
