Botanical garden
Nature & Parks
Hollis Garden is a picturesque botanical garden located in downtown Lakeland, Florida, overlooking the scenic Lake Mirror Park. Spanning 1.2 acres, this charming garden boasts neoclassical architecture and features over 10,000 vibrant flowers, ornamental shrubs, and native trees. Visitors can explore 16 distinct areas within the garden, including a tropical limestone grotto, a koi pond and bamboo trail, as well as a butterfly garden.
I wish I could give it more stars. This place was like heaven on earth! Set on Mirror Lake, Beautiful views everywhere. Great for walking. Enormous family park adjacent. Garden Bistro had delicious food with lovely outdoor seating at reasonable prices. Worth the drive from Orlando.

A very cool place for a quick visit. Went for an afternoon walk here, and it was delightful. They have parking, a little cafe, and a nice change of scenery. Didn't take a while to get through, but would visit again soon. Definitely a check out if you are in the area.

Hollis Garden is one of Lakeland’s most beautiful spots. The grounds are perfectly maintained, with colorful flowers, fountains, and peaceful walkways that make it great for photos or a quiet stroll. It’s free to enter, easy to explore, and sits right by Lake Mirror, which adds to the scenery. A relaxing, elegant garden that’s always worth a visit.

This place was gorgeous. I got to talk with Aiden who works there. Got some insights into some of the plants that you wouldn't get otherwise. It was a pleasure to visit the garden and lake mirror area surrounding. Will definitely be back to visit.

A beautiful park with so many beautiful flowers for the season. I never thought a public garden would have such beautiful vegetables. The koi pond, and the art pieces are lovely little touches to the garden

Beautiful garden of roses and topiary and flowers. It was the highlight of my day and I really loved how bright and beautiful it was. I loved the pretty fountain in the middle of the garden. Super peaceful with a great view of the lake.

Museums
The Ashley Gibson Barnett Museum of Art (The AGB) at Florida Southern College is a small museum that showcases global works from pre-Columbian to contemporary art. It hosts changing exhibitions by local, regional, and national artists, including artwork by young students. The museum also features permanent collections of African and Oceanic art and ceremonial objects. Additionally, it offers free admission and is nationally accredited and Smithsonian-affiliated.
They opened a new wing and renamed the place from Polk art museum. Not only do they have masterpieces, in the new wing they have chihuly blown glass, pottery, fabric art, bronze statues and large items. You visit for free. They also have a gift shop

An amazing long established museum formerly known as the Polk Museum. It’s facility is throughly world class, has free admission for all and has fascinating collections featuring Warhol to Renoir type impressionist art, rare Jazz Artists photography, Pop and abstract art and ceramic and marble sculptures. The museum volunteers are well versed in the collections and are very genuine and friendly. Do not miss this gem of a art museum.
George — Google review
They have just installed new floors, the whole museum was immaculate and had some incredible pieces of art and sculptures to see and learn about. I especially enjoyed the Four Seasons which has just been restored beautiful.
Alex W — Google review
World class art in a smaller museum. You could easily spend a couple of hours in this wonderful free museum. There is a collection of art by the highwaymen, Andy Warhol, Dale Chihuly glass, Rodin sculptures, impressionist art, American art by artists such as Robert Raushenberg and Robert Indiana, photographs by Ansel Adams and others, beautiful ceramics, European decorative arts from the 15th century and, of course, a Frank Lloyd Wright exhibit of textile blocks and a model of Florida Southern College. Not to be missed is an exhibit of jazz legends by photographer Herman Leonard. The temporary exhibit is here until August 31. Nice gift shop and plenty of parking.
Mike Z — Google review
The Ashley Gibson Barnett Museum of Art, “The AGB” for short, is formerly known as the Polk Museum of Art (and probably what I’ll always think of it as). The name change came with a huge expansion which allowed the museum to nearly thrills its exhibition and learning spaces. And let me tell you, going there pre- & post-expansion the difference is mind boggling. Polk County & Lakeland truly have something to be proud of with this museum. And the best part? Free admission!! I wasn’t sure if it’d remain this way after their buildout but they are striving to keep it free for all to visit and enjoy. They have a really impressive collection for being a still smaller museum compared to the Met, Chicago Museum of Art or places like that. First, you walk into to see several Auguste Rodin sculptures, starting off strong. You can see Andy Warhol, an incredible mix of diverse artists from all over the world, and even a few Dale Chihuly blown glass pieces. It is all absolutely stunning. The AGB is a Smithsonian affiliate so they definitely have high standards. It’s also located in such a great spot right off of Lake Morton next to the library & Lake Morton Black & Brew, the Peach House, Misterfish, and the newer MooTown Scoops. Whether you’re feeling coffee, ice cream, drinks or actual food, it’s all with a 3-4 minute walk right there. A great museum to visit!
Raegan L — Google review
For a free museum I have to say that I am pretty impressed. The major exhibition is the art of The highwaymen. I spent about 40 minutes here just on the first floor the second level is mostly administrative offices classrooms in the collection of photographic art. I wouldn't say that this museum is worth driving out of your way to visit, but if you're visiting the Lakeland / Central Florida area and are looking for a little excursion this is totally worth your time.

Nature & Wildlife Areas
Circle B Bar Reserve, located southeast of Lakeland, is a picturesque natural area that has been restored to protect the floodplain portion of Lake Hancock. The reserve offers unpaved trails for hiking, roadways and trails for biking, and fishing opportunities along Lake Hancock. It's an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts who can spot various wildlife such as alligators, armadillos, raccoons, bobcats, and bald eagles while exploring the gently winding hiking trails.
The park is just pure nature. It has a calm and relaxed ambience about it. Gators do roam around but they're not usually in your path. Oftentimes, they're swimming on their own, which is fun to watch. There are many different paths to walk and a lot of birds and other animals to see. It can get hot, so bring liquids. Parking is kind of a nightmare. That is the one thing that makes the experience much more stressful, so get there early. Pets are not allowed here due to gators and other animals. I gave this a 5, despite the poor parking. I wasn't sure how else to rate it. They need more parking here. If I recall, there is an inside mini-museum you can check out at certain hours but most of the experience is outside on the trails with nature.
Adam P — Google review
Love the area, it is very well kept, and the people who work here are super knowledgeable about the animals, trees and wildlife. You can bring your bikes or hike through the preserve. There are wild pigs/hogs and of course gators can be found in plain sight. Being alert is especially important here but I feel that makes it a better experience. The preserve is enormous so plan on making multiple trips. F.y.i. Bring yourself plenty to drink and wear comfortable clothing. There are a lot of mosquitoes depending on the time of year so plan for that during the hotter season.
Miguel M — Google review
Ok so for the 3 star rating. Now the place is absolutely cool looking for sure plenty of hiking trails that are very well maintained and definitely what's the word photogenic or something now I could probably easily rate it 5 stars but man we were so disappointed when we went , we saw pretty much nothing as far as wildlife, no gators, otters, bobcats which we figured we wouldn't see them due to the time of day but that being said it was pretty decently sunny and in the 80s so definitely figured we'd at least see some alligators and before going when we seen reviews on Google that it was a definite Hotspot to see them so as for that it was a let down. Like I said otherwise definitely a nice scenic place and I'm sure as far as the wildlife goes some days will be better than others .
James M — Google review
Great trails with lots of scenic views and wildlife. Everything is well maintained, even the portable toilets. We saw raccoons, armadillo, burds, and lots of turtles and alligators! Easy to do a short or long hike. The swampy trail was flooded so we couldn't get through there.
Angela M — Google review
Even with Central Florida havling a very dry season wildflower and wildlife were all over as we walked the trails! Parking lots were filling up around 9:30am. Portable bathrooms were clean. Lots of benches along hiking trails
Jeanene A — Google review
A nature reserve park with lots of green spaces and path walks. Finding some alligators, turtles, and birds along the trail felt like true-to-life Jurassic park. I had a wonderful time with friends.
Juluis L — Google review
I love Circle B Bar Reserve. Last week we spent over $200 to go on an air boat ride to see alligators. Didn’t really see anything but a little one. Then I took them to the reserve! Such a great place to take our family from up north. My grandson saw several little guys and one huge alligator. The trails are so well kept and it just feels good to be able to walk and see such beautiful nature.
Jamie S — Google review
As a wildlife photographer hobbyist this place is great when it comes to diversity in wildlife. From small birds to alligators, if you are patient and have a good eye you will see some amazing creatures. Please take out what you take in.

Lake Morton is a serene destination known for its pristine waters and tranquil atmosphere. The well-maintained walking trails around the lake offer breathtaking views of the surroundings, including crystal-clear waters and beautiful cypress trees. Visitors can enjoy observing a variety of waterfowl such as swans, geese, ducks, pelicans, egrets, herons, and other birds in their natural habitat.
Great place to walk around the lake feed the swans and ducks food from vending for 25¢.Benches around to relax and take in the sunset. Also few picnic seating areas
April M — Google review
The lake is beautiful. It was hard to find parking near a picnic table because they were either full or no parking spot near by so we ended up eating in the car but the scenery was still beautiful with the swans and ducks. So peaceful
Adela — Google review
Beautiful place. Very well maintained and developed so it limits extensive interaction between humans and wildlife such as by not having a sidewalk on the lake side, instead it is lake, road, then side walk in and around the homes. No trash present. Did witness some people throwing fishing nets and I do not know if that is legal, but if it is even with a fishing license, it seems highly inappropriate to do at this place. It doesn't fit the scene. (If it isn't allowed, police should patrol more frequently and get these people because it is affecting wildlife and endangering them and tampering with all the birds there too.)
A F — Google review
Lake Morton was a pleasant surprise on our visit to the area. We found it by accident; however, we were so happy that we parked and walked along the lake. While there we saw an incredible number of waterfowl including large Pelicans, different varieties of Swans, Egrets, Herons, and other beautiful birds. We are bird watchers and Lake Morton is a bird enthusiasts paradise. We were able to get within inches of nesting swans and other birds.
Carol J — Google review
Simply austinishing. The wildlife appears to have a great time. The lake is very clean and the pasture is well kept. The city of Lakeland did an amazing job at keeping this lake in top condition. Good for picnics as well
Daniel B — Google review
Absolutely beautiful place to come and see wildlife and birds. The upkeep and care taken for the area is great. Be respectful of the birds and bring your families to enjoy.
Chris M — Google review
Actually had tears when moving an hour away, but still love to visit! Very relaxing, can watch from a bench or a beach blanket or take a stroll around the lake. Can combine with a trip to the library. Unique mute swans were gifted to the city from England. Black swans, pelicans, ducks, and lots of other birds to enjoy too. ***PLEASE FEED ONLY APPROVED FOODS, NO BREAD, FRENCH FRIES OR OTHER JUNK FOOD*** Normally I bring a container of oatmeal which they all like and it's easy to carry plus a romaine or leaf lettuce (tear up for the swans, they love it) per person. Have tried thawed frozen peas and uncooked rice which are approved too, but not as well received. Best to bring hand sanitizer too as some eat from your hands if you want them to. NEARBY is Lake Mirror which features Hollis Gardens (its ok to walk to the top of the fountain unless there is a chain across the steps indicating a private event) and Barnet Family Park with splash pad. While Lake Morton has the swans, Lake Mirror has numerous paved walkways and beautiful grounds. While Lake Morton is my fav bc of the swans, Lake Mirror is a close second.

What can I say, this spot is amazing. My son and I go here allllll the time. The birds are all so sweet and FRIENDLY!!!! they've all been socialized and they all coexist together it's amazing to see. We see so much nature here and could stay for hours

Private university
Florida Southern College in Lakeland is a must-visit for architecture enthusiasts, boasting the largest single-site collection of Frank Lloyd Wright's work in the world. The campus features 12 structures designed by Wright between 1938-1958, including the impressive Annie Pfeiffer Chapel with its breathtaking views.
Went today to visit Florida Southern College to go on a basic tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright designed building. It was $35 per person for a 60-90 minute tour. We had a very knowledgeable tour guide that showed us inside 3 separate buildings on property, along with walking us through the property explaining the design history behind the campus. Overall it was very amazing to see this historic property still being maintained and properly preserved to this day. It’s hard in central Florida to find such history in architecture.
Jacob A — Google review
I came to this campus to see the Frank Lloyd Wright buildings. Although they looked great from afar, the condition of the buildings was disgraceful. The buildings are crumbling apart and look like they might just come down on top of you. I would think they would try to keep these buildings from rotting and crumbling away but everywhere you turn, there is damage and mold. It is so sad to see. They need a ton of money to be poured into constant maintenance of these buildings 365 days of the year. I would not send my children to this school for fear the roof will collapse upon them while attending class.
Katy F — Google review
One of my favorite Frank Lloyd Wright designs. Features the largest collection of his buildings. Had an opportunity to tour this campus in the Fall of 2019! I was amazed by the scenery and really enjoyed walking around the campus! I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for something to do while in the area.
Nick S — Google review
We took a tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright buildings on campus. It was a great tour and well worth the price. I think it is the largest collection of his buildings.
DUANE H — Google review
I don’t have much to contribute as far as the educational portion of this location, but the historical architecture is another story. If you’re a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright or architecture in general, you will find numerous gems practically on top of one another. Unfortunately, the structures are in poor condition. Still worth taking a peak.

Lovely Regional College in a lovely Central Florida town. Lakeland is home to the Publix Grocery Chain and this hidden gem from the early 20th Century, designed by the great and wonderful architect Frank Lloyd Wright. He certainly left an enduring stamp of his simple genius on this patch of land adjacent to Downtown.

Seafood restaurant
Harry's Seafood Bar & Grille is a vibrant spot in downtown Lakeland, offering a fusion of Cajun, Creole, and Southern flavors with a modern twist. Originally founded by Greg and Louis Saig, the restaurant started with a limited raw bar menu but has since evolved to feature an array of dishes influenced by Louisiana cuisine. The menu boasts Bourbon Street Favorites, starters, soups, salads, handhelds, and signature dishes like Crab Crusted Redfish Royale.
The restaurant is located in the downtown area which gets busy during the weekends. Thankfully I came in for lunch during the week. I sat at the bar and the bartender was so nice. I was not familiar with certain dishes and she even offered to give me samples of the gumbo and crab soup since she saw I was having trouble making a decision. The food was delightful to my taste buds and the service was superb by the bartender. I definitely recommend this place if you have a craving for some southern food since a few of their dishes are.

This is the second time I have ate here and both times I have choose to set out side. Great atmosphere and when eating at night the lights come on at the park beside the restaurant. Once you order it is a little bit of a wait for the food. The wait is well worth it. The French Market Pasta was great. The spinach and pesto really set this dish off. My friend got Blackened Redfish and he said it was some of the best fish he has had. My other friend got Chicken Jolie Blonde and loved it as well. The portions of food were large. Fresh loafs of bread were great. We also got Boudin Balls for appetizers which again was very satisfying. The waitress was awesome. She checked on us constantly and we never wanted for anything. We all highly, highly recommend this restaurant. You won’t be disappointed n

We had a wonderful experience at Harry’s Seafood Bar & Grille in downtown Lakeland. The food was absolutely delicious. We started with the Ahi Tuna appetizer, followed by the crusted grouper with smashed potatoes and the honey bourbon glazed salmon, which were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. For dessert, my partner had the banana cream brûlée, and said it was fantastic. Brittany, our server, was amazing — attentive, friendly, and made our meal even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was inviting, and the outdoor patio added a lovely touch to our dining experience. Highly recommend Harry’s for anyone looking for great seafood, excellent service, and a charming setting.

This was my first time going to Harry's and I was not disappointed. My wife and I both loved everything we got. From the time we walked in the door we received exceptional service and our waitress Brittany was awesome. The food was well seasoned and everything was good. We will definitely be back.

Loved it! Always wanted to try it, but we were always there on a weekend night with a long wait. This time, it was a weekday lunch. Got a table right away. Warm bread was served promptly, and our appetizers and main courses came soon after. Pic below.

The BEST restaurant that I have been to in years. A great taste of Louisiana with a Florida twist! My boyfriend had the Mahi tacos and collard greens. He said they were the best he had ever eaten. I had Andioulle crusted grouper. My taste buds were so happy. We had several drinks, that's why the bill was high.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Harry’s Seafood Bar & Grille in Lakeland is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the warm Southern hospitality makes you feel right at home. The atmosphere is vibrant yet relaxed, with just the right mix of New Orleans flair and Florida charm. The food is simply outstanding. Every dish is packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. The shrimp and grits are creamy and rich, the jambalaya has the perfect kick, and the blackened redfish is cooked to perfection. Even the sides—like the collard greens and corn bread—taste like they’re straight out of a Southern kitchen. The bar is equally impressive, with a great selection of craft cocktails, wines, and local brews. The Hurricane and French Quarter martini are both must-tries! What really makes Harry’s special is the staff. Every server we’ve had has been friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. You can tell they take pride in creating a great experience for every guest. Whether you’re out for a date night, celebrating with friends, or just craving bold Cajun and Creole flavors, Harry’s in Lakeland never disappoints. It’s hands down one of the best restaurants in town, and we can’t wait to go back!

Using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, the creative and passionate chefs at Nineteen61 strive to deliver a memorable dining experience. Excellent service from the waitress who was a local there and was so helpful about informing me about the area and where to go. She was accommodating and gave such wonderful customer service. Unfortunately I didn’t have the pleasure to have access to the whole menu due to the time I came. There’s a certain time that the menu is limited. For first timers there they offer a complimentary champagne glass. The outdoor area is dog friendly and B was serviced his fresh water bowl. B gives them two paws up 🐾

If I could give 5 stars plus, I would. We celebrated our 25th anniversary here and from the moment we arrived until the time we paid we were given a great deal of attention and service. We enjoyed our cocktails, appetizer, entrees, and dessert. Everything was delicious with the ingredients and preparation explained in detail by our server. The story of the restaurant was shared by the house manager and he also shared some suggestions for our choices from the menu. We can't wait to come back and thank you for a memorable experience.

Fantastic place to dine and converse! Food was Phenomenal and the service was even better! We even got a glass of bubbly and a thank you card for coming there as a welcome to out restaurant gift! The manager (not the owner) takes very seriously how gracious he is to have been chosen as the restaurant of choice for their patrons! So worth it! You gotta take the time and go to Nineteen 61!

From start to finish, the experience at Nineteen61 was outstanding. The service was attentive without ever feeling rushed, and every detail made us feel taken care of. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our Polk County Women Social Club group was comfortable and had everything we needed. This is one of Lakeland’s top restaurants and has been for a long time for good reason- it’s AMAZE! It’s not cheap dining, but the price is well worth the quality of both the food, service and atmosphere. When you come for a special occasion, they’ll ask for a name or what the occasion is (such as, it was my dads birthday) and then they’ll personalize your experience for that occasion (they had a happy birthday note in the menu for my dad). They even gave my dad a handwritten birthday note from the team there! All of the food is just splendid. They train their chefs very in depth so they are beyond professional and know taste profiles. The food just melts in your mouth. The ropa vieja- highly, highly recommend. But there’s no bad options on this Latin-fusion menu. And to top it off: creme brûlée for dessert! It wasn’t as good as some I’ve tried, especially compared to the rest of the meal, but definitely still very delicious. They also gave a free house wine for my dad’s birthday. I would say a lot of nights, especially on the weekends you’ll want a reservation. It stays busy here. Everything here is so spot on, the detail in all parts of the experience makes it a lasting and impressive one.

I have never had such a wonderful and thoughtful experience. The wait staff was amazing. Our waiter was very attentive and kind. The food was delicious. I had the churrasco steak and it was cooked to perfection and very flavorful. But the best part is when I arrived they asked me if I was celebrating anything special and I let them know it was a belated birthday celebration for me. They gave me a complimentary dessert, I chose the tres leches which was delicious, and they brought it out with a candle and a birthday card signed by all the staff. I was truly amazed at the service. My friend who was with me also thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

The restaurant provides a mix of French, Italian, and American cuisine made from scratch. It's known for its top-quality dishes and wine selection. The bistro has been serving customers since 2010 and is praised for its relaxed ambiance that combines the charm of a restaurant with the feel of an art gallery.
A true HIDDEN GEM! went here yesterday for my 3rd anniversary, and this place was absolutely AMAZING! the waitress was super nice. The owner came and talked to us. And the Thai chili sauce that came with the ribeye was hands down the best sauce I have ever had in my life!! Bay Street Bistro is by far one of my favorite restaurants to go to when I celebrate passing a semester of school or just when I'm feeling fancy! The food is divine and the wait staff is quick and friendly. My absolute favorite dish is the sea bass special, but the lamb is to die for, and you can never go wrong with a sweet treat after dinner, with the amazing dessert options they have! Wonderful dinner with friends. Delicious meals. I enjoyed the Steak with scampi sauce and jumbo prawns, amazing. Paired well with a juicy pinot. Great night. Wife enjoyed a vegetarian plate, and one friend experienced the indulgent beef wellington. All around a great time. Highly recommend. We will return.

Delightful bistro. Definitely French inspired, I'm not sure I would call it an actual French restaurant. But definitely worth the visit. The menu is well thought out and the dishes true to the menu descriptions. I had the escargot. A personal favorite. I've had this dish countless times. So I have a very good idea of how this dish should taste. I think the snails, themselves, were just on the edge of being overcooked. But the dish didn't suffer. I think the lemon seasoning is a mistake on the part of the chef. Otherwise I think it was nicely executed. I'll skip the Caesar salad, not much to say but properly prepared. My lamb was quite good, however the lollipops were very small on the amount of meat. They tried to compensate by proving 8. I think they should have provided fewer but meatier choices. Beyond that, the seasoning was quite nice. Darian was our waiter, and did a very nice job of explaining the offering and executing the service. I would definitely come back.

Wonderful! The atmosphere at Bay Street Bistro is relaxed and gracious leaving everyone feeling comfortable. The food is exquisite and the chef doesn't miss a detail. We had the escargot, cream mussels, beef wellington and orange scallops over parmesan risotto. The attention to every flavor and every vegetable is impressive. It is honestly one of the finest restaurants in Lakeland and we have been here for 25 years. To top it off our waitress, Ileana, was delightful. She made it a cheerful and enjoyable experience. Had she not recommended it, I would never have tasted the joy of a poached pear salad with brie and balsamic. And her wine recommendations were spot on. We will be coming back soon with family and bringing them to her section! And if the Outrageously Talented Chef needs criticism to improve...it is this; More Risotto, More Risotto, More Risotto!!!

This wonderful little place is about half a block West of the main downtown but well worth the short walk! It has a true bistro feel with many visual pleasures including Cuban tile floors and beautiful stained glass panels. The service was very attentive and pleasant along with helpful suggestions. First was a tasty Tomato Bisque soup followed by Poached Pear Salad of poached pears, goat cheese, bruschetta, spiced walnuts and balsamic glaze on a bed of organic mixed greens which was delicious. Then, a hard to find, Roast Duck with crispy duck medallions served with a cherry gran marnier balsamic sauce. Finally, a super rich and moist dessert- Chocolate cake with a fudge like chocolate frosting covered with milk, dark and white chocolate pieces! Heaven on a plate! See photos! Yes I did take a bite or two before photographing some things. Can you blame me?

I was very disappointed with my dinner! The service was great, the bread and pesto were fresh and delicious, and our server was knowledgeable and kind. However, I ordered the Seafood Vol au vent and it was served burnt. I didn't even recognize my plate when it was brought to me. I didn't complain at the time because I thought that it wouldn't effect the taste too much. Well it did! I can't believe their chef was happy with putting that on the plate. I can't believe the expediter didn't say, hey, we shouldn't serve this. I know at least two hands touched my plate before I received it and no one thought that it was a bad idea. I should have returned the plate and requested a refund but it was date night and I didn't want to ruin a great night out with my hubby. See pics...

The Joinery is a vibrant neighborhood market and artisan food hall offering a diverse range of culinary delights. It's an ideal destination for food enthusiasts, featuring local and global street food vendors serving up everything from sushi burritos to Neapolitan-style pizza. The venue also boasts craft beer, wine, and cocktails, with the majority of their craft beers sourced from Florida brewers. Visitors can look forward to an upcoming onsite brewery as well.
These food markets are becoming more popular. Lots of tables and food booths offering choices between burgers, pizza, sushi, fish and deserts and ice cream. There is also a full bar. I had a very good burger from Super Duper Spot. The fries, however, lacked crispness. The large venue is very clean including the restrooms. There is plenty of free parking. Plenty of outside seating.

We visited this place today. It was nice and the food was good. My husband got brisket at one of the spots. I got pizza. The food was great. You can sit inside or outside. We sat inside but had a nice view of the lake. We’ll definitely go back in the fall when the weather is cooler so that we can walk around the lake.

I was so hungry I forgot to take pictures of our food. I had the special at Blue Dog Craft Barbecue. Doggie Dog hot 🌭 dog with slaw and onions. No onions for me and fries 😋 so ono (delicious). The slaw made my bread soggy. Next time I'll ask for it on the side. I did put the pickled onion on my hot dog 🌭 good combo. Service was ok. They text you when your order is ready. I didn't hear my text and I was on a long distance call, our backs was facing the counter looking at the wonderful view. So I don't how long our food was sitting there on the counter. We were near by and they didn't let us know our food was ready. Besides that the food was excellent. My fren had sausage, smoked meat, and slaw. Oh so many options! How do you decide? Do I want a poke bowl, burritos and queso and chips, pizza? In the end pizza won and Mayday creamery! Can't go wrong. Full bar too! Plenty of parking, inside was pretty warm but not so uncomfortable that you couldn't deal! Super nice views outside of the sprawling lake and lake walk around. Outdoor eating area also but in the heat index 109 yesterday we passed! Definitely check out the place!

There’s around 6 places to choose from for food, Mayday ice cream, and a full bar. I had the ramen which was amazing, and had 2 drinks at the bar, a Paloma and whiskey sour. Everything was delicious and it’s a cool family place for everyone to sit down, catch up, eat and drink in a relaxed environment. Four legged fur babies and welcomed here too!

Update 6/21/25 this place is still awesome. I've had amazing food, good service, great vibes.. I even worked from here. They need coffee, though! ___________________ This whole vibe is insane. Chill, relaxing, great aroma, ice cream, pizza, burgers, sushi (amazing/unique), flowers, and more!! Lots to do and right off the main downtown lake. I look forward to coming back to try more food and bring all my friends!

Nestled in the historic Federal Building on Tennessee Ave, Mojo Federal Swine & Spirits is a must-visit spot in Lakeland. Housed in an old post office structure, the restaurant boasts a charming ambiance with open rafters, tall ceilings, and local art adorning the brick walls. The place exudes a welcoming vibe with great music playing in the background.
Mojo Federal Swine & Spirits – A BBQ Lover's Paradise is an absolute diamond! It is located in Lakeland and is top notch from start to finish. The ambiance alone is worth the visit—set inside an old bank building, the atmosphere is unique and inviting, with a killer bar stocked with spirits galore. But let’s talk about the food… wow. I’ve had some seriously good BBQ in my time, but Mojo Federal took me on a journey to awesome. I’ll even go as far as to say it was foodgasmic. My girlfriend ordered the North Carolina pork, which was incredibly moist and flavorful. She paired it with a super fresh side salad and collard greens that were bursting with flavor. I went all in with the 3-meat combo: pulled pork shoulder that melted in my mouth, ribs that literally fell off the bone, and brisket that was perfectly moist and packed with flavor. For sides, I chose green beans and collard greens—both amazing compliments to the meat feast I was enjoying. Honestly, it was so good I had to hold back tears of happiness. Will I be back? Oh, hell yes! This place just earned a spot in my regular rotation—easily a 1–2 times a month visit. If I didn’t live a bit of a drive away, I’d be there even more often. Do not miss out on this place! BBQ fans, foodies, or anyone who just loves incredible food—get yourself to Mojo Federal. You won’t regret it.

Overall, the food is good. The temperature could have been hotter, but everything had good flavor. Service was great for a Saturday evening with no wait for a party of 7. Broad selection of kids meals and they came with a drink which is a plus. Onion ring appetizer was huge and feeds 3-4.

Our server Marie was very pleasant and fun to engage with. Now to the food, the Smoked Chicken Nachos were good with shredded chicken, thick sliced jalapenos and tomatoes. My wife ordered a cup of Brunswick Stew and a Mojo salad. The salad was so large she didn't finish it, to 90% home. I had the Delta catfish blackened with garlic cheese grits, fries and jalapeno cornbread. All was great and great. The meal was reasonably priced and the restaurant felt comfortable and relaxed. If you are ever in downtown Lakeland go to Mojo Federal Swine & Spirits.

Our local friend picked this place. It was excellent. We were there for 3.5 hours until they closed and were cleaning up (video taken on way out). Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Food was excellent - burnt ends (they have a variety of sauces on each table - I my fav was the chipotle) with street corn off the cob and cowboy beans. Everything was excellent. Decent beer selection and a very large bourbon selection.

We had the best server, Chandler! My husband and I wanted to try everything so we got the Whole Hawg Sampler. It’s a lot of food, serves 4, so we took 1/2 of everything home! The Brisket was our favorite, it was tender and delicious. 2nd favorites were the ribs, pulled pork and sausage. The chicken was a little dry and not much of a smoke flavor. We did not like the turkey at all, it had a weird rubbery texture and all we tasted was pepper. The sides were all good, we had collard greens, coleslaw, mashed sweet potatoes & baked beans. We also had cornbread, it was good, but was served cold. We like our cornbread warm. Finished with the homemade banana pudding and it was delicious!

The staff and atmosphere was exceptional. We ordered a brisket dinner to share. When it was brought out to us, they had split it up on two plates. Fantastic service, because I didn’t ask them to do that that. Our dinner and drinks were very good. We will definitely return. Highly recommend.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stopped by Mojo Federal and ordered the 3-meat combo — brisket, chicken, and turkey — with mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. Everything was okay, nothing really stood out. Plenty of dining space and the service was nice though. 💡 Tip: Great spot if you’re looking for a relaxed place to sit and unwind. ✨ Friendly faces, plenty of space.

First time here. We usually go outside downtown after the Lake Mirror Car Show. Reviews were good and we have heard great comments. The service is only reason this was a 3. Service - hostess and server were nice. They did miss that my meal wasn’t served with Texas Toast but not a deal breaker - it happens. Atmosphere- The atmosphere was nice. Can see the history in the architecture. Really fantastic they didn’t try to cover it. The bar area looks comfortable and definitely busy. Lots of people, lots of kids so it was a bit loud but still able to talk at our booth. It is roomy inside. Bathrooms - need some cleaning. Not a great smell - usually 20 minutes after open you would expect a cleaner smell than heavy urine. The stalls and walls were basic. Yeah it’s a bathroom but little touches go a long way. A few decorations on the walls, some smell goods would improve. The food - this will be controversial for other reviews. The plates were underwhelming. Looked very basic, no real “flair”. The plates reminded me of the trays from a school cafeteria. Pulled Pork - it was okay. Slightly dry. Let’s be honest. Smoking pork is kinda hard to mess up. What really makes the pulled pork is the barbecue sauce (or in NC the cole slaw). BBQ Sauce - They had 3 options but Mission BBQ down the street has far superior sauce options. I tried the Sweet and Mojo. Added sweet to my Pulled Pork. The Mojo was good - just couldn’t put my finger on exactly what was init but had a little tangy aftertaste. Blackened catfish - hubby said it was good. Not an option on most barbecue menus so good addition there. Texas Toast - My meal was missing this so no review on that item. Green beans – I would suggest someone from this restaurant go to Mission BBQ (even Sonny’s) and try their green beans. Plain. Had a peel of a quarter of an onion at bottom and all spices were under all the green beans. They were so long you couldn’t “stir” in cup so you needed to pour on plate to get the seasoning. Presentment probably would have looked better outside the cup. Collard greens – they’re OK. Again not all BBQ places have these. Had to empty on plate as seasoning was at bottom of cup. They could’ve presented the collard greens by laying the blackened catfish on top of the collard greens. Probably would’ve made this dish look 100% better. Prices – the prices here are higher than other places. We probably spent $10 more on the food here than what we would have at a place like Mission BBQ or Sonny’s. I think many of the reviews here could be skewed if you were to order alcohol as well. They have really extensive alcohol options and the alcohol menu was large. Lots of liquor and beer options.
