Gardens
Nestled in Largo, Florida, the Florida Botanical Gardens is a sprawling 182-acre urban sanctuary boasting meticulously maintained gardens, interpretive nature trails, and an array of natural habitats. With over 25 display gardens showcasing a diverse range of flora like bromeliads, roses, herbs, and hibiscus, this sun-drenched arboretum is also home to a rich tapestry of wildlife including over 150 species of birds and mammals.
This place is a hidden gem in Largo, FL. First time visiting here this past weekend and had only a short time to visit before they closed at 5pm on Saturday. The little that I got to see was impressive with the range of plants and fauna. There are a myriad of walk ways to go down and every one of them has gorgeous plants to view. There are several benches to sit and relax to take in all the nature and fountains. It’s so peaceful here along with the sounds of nature. You really feel like you have escaped the hustle bustle in these gardens! I can’t wait to go back and see more of it while having more time to wander the trails and paths. Also to add, it’s absolutely FREE! You can’t beat that for enjoying some nature and a nice stroll.

It's amazing that this garden is free! There is so much to see here. Alot of work and planning had gone into the whole area. Lots of benches and chairs to enjoy the views. Kids play areas, a variety of teaching areas as well as a wedding venue. There's just too much to for in this review. Definitely worth a donation if you go.
Lynn D — Google review
We liked the water areas and the flowers were beautiful. We did not see butterflies in the butterfly garden probably because it was overcast when we went. I guess technically that is part of the Majeed Discovery Garden. The botanical garden is totally free to enjoy. My nephew enjoyed seeing all thd dogs that people were walking with (leashed of course). They have a cute gift shop and there was a QR code to scan to make a donation to the gardens but it didnt work when we tried it. We were still in the gift shop though so we were able to give a donation at the register. The grounds are well kept and not super crowded for a Saturday which surprised us.

Beautiful Garden and very well maintained! I Came here for a Biology xLab Scavenger Hunt and it was really engaging and fun. Be careful of the Bees in the Butterfly garden, because there's hundreds upon hundreds of them,, do not remove any plants or fruit under penalty of law, and when it gets dark you will need Bug spray!! Great place to visit! 10/10

It was a beautiful day to stroll through nature at the Botanical Gardens. Also the wildlife was out and about, with birds, snakes, and even a baby alligator to name a few. The trees along the path provide much shade, here are just a few of the plants I came across. The banana trees were so beautiful as the bananas were growing nicely. Whether going with children, teens, or adults this is the place that interests all ages. Many fun activities for children with instruments and fun activities in nature.
Mrs T — Google review
Beautiful gardens, with so many different types. I parked and walked into the majeem garden, it was various musical instruments made out of natural things. So cool. I would love to hear, see a concert of people using all the instruments.
Beth N — Google review
Absolutely a beautiful place especially for it being free. Very beautiful gardens and the light arrangements that they have set up for the Christmas light show is unbelievable. Looks like a very beautiful place to have a wedding venue as well. For a free place to go to see such beautiful flowers, I give it a A+++++
Jerome J — Google review
It was cool walking around this place very well maintained. Walkways plenty of restrooms. Scattered through the place. Some beautiful and strange trees while we were there. They were setting up the lights for their Christmas show. Can't wait to go back and see that!

We visited Heritage Village in Largo, FL and had such a great time! It’s really well maintained and completely free, which was a pleasant surprise. The historical buildings are beautifully preserved, and you really get a feel for what life was like in earlier times. There’s also a quiet walking trail nearby, which made the whole visit even more peaceful and relaxing. It’s a lovely place to spend a few hours—great for families, history lovers, or anyone just looking for a calm spot to explore.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely incredible experience at Heritage Village! From the moment I arrived, Hannah, Larry, and Kerrie made me feel completely welcomed and cared for. Their professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail were unmatched. You can really tell they love what they do and genuinely care about the people they serve. The environment was peaceful, well-maintained, and full of charm. I can’t recommend this place highly enough—thanks to the amazing team for making my visit so memorable! ⸻

Still finishing up reviews from Florida. This place is a nice little hidden gem. Old school town with plenty of interactive tours. From an old school store to a school, this place is is interesting. The garage has classic cars and one building is an old doctors/dentist office. Very scary!! If you have time and fins yourself in Clearwater, take an hour and walk this place.

This is a great place to visit and wander through the past. Walked through the Village and was able to go through each home and barn to see how the different homes looked through the years. The carriages and vehicles were great.

We have been going to Highlands for many years! We have had family functions there! And this year we had a nice school function there also! The funny thing is I used to go there before it was this pool when it was the original pool 50 years ago LOL! The staff is very very friendly! Very reasonable price to go swimming I like their schedules! I like it that you just can't drop your kids off for the whole day off so formation Mark get what I mean! Thank you for having such a wonderful facility for everybody to enjoy! I like everything about Highlands the this is all Recreation facilities! The park! The kids have a nice playground! Thank you for being there.. I have so many pictures over the years that I never took my phone so it never showed me being there so here is the beginning of some pictures this was this past summer

Amazing recreation center that anyone can enjoy! The water park is great for younger kids and they have two slides for anyone 48 inches +. Our kids love the indoor playground. It makes for a great weekend 2-3 hour outing.
Todd S — Google review
Was told when we got there we had to wait 20 min. Then added 30 min. Then added another 30 min. Said there was lightning but only some thunder in the distance. She then offered a 50% discount ticket and the life guards refused to give them to us.
Dotty R — Google review
My toddler loved the frog water slide & splash pad area at the Highland Family Aquatic Center! He also loved the indoor play world at the Highland Recreation Complex (same campus). He also enjoyed their free outdoor playground.
KidThingsToDoInTampaBay — Google review
This is a great place to come with the kids. There are big slides for older kids and adults, medium slides for younger kids, and small slides for little kids. There are lots of life guards and different types of water equipment to keep everyone occupied. There are a few sets of shaded tables to escape from the sun. Pricing is reasonable. If we lived closer, we'd definitely be back.
Jeremy G — Google review
At first I was apprehensive of the 2-hour time limitation but once we got out here and chasing the grandkids for 2 hours I was ready to go home. The place is well maintained and the kids really have a lot of fun here. And I love the $8 price, it beats any of the big water parks.
Teri M — Google review
It was very fun visiting this park. I wish it was open for longer than 2 hours at a time on the weekend, but I understand that it's a lot of work to manage all the people that come in. There is a very nice playground on the inside also that's accessible but you have to choose whether or not you're going to do the playground or the pool. Everything else is awesome. Great place for families to engage and play!
Cali — Google review
Nice. Clean. Kids enjoyed it very much. My only complaint is it is 8 dollars a person for two hours. I feel like that is a little much for only 2 hours.

They also offer 3 picnic areas

The Eagles here are amazing. They swooped in and took care of all the vermin. I love Eagle Lake Park. I get to do lots of cool stuff here. They won’t let me fire off my fireworks, but I can still party like it’s 1999. This park is so awesome. It’s got awesome sauce sprayed everywhere. But it’s not too slippery. The Eagles were very friendly and accommodating. There are some endangered eagle there, but I don’t mess with them. I heard that you can’t build a house where there’s an eagle nest but you know what these eagles were chill and probably would let me anyway without paying $75,000 to the federal governor, which is totally a scam. I like this park because it’s got trash cans and sidewalks. I like this park because it’s under the sky. Everybody should go here right now!
J T — Google review
I love Mother Nature but something was wrong about this entire park. Not to mention the GPS goes haywire, there's some kind of magnetic disruption here. The feeling IS spiritual in nature, it has a haunted feel. There's not anything scenic here and I love photography, and there were no pictures I wanted to take. Either something happened here century's ago or IS happening here that is evil with a heavy spirit that hangs over this park. 🤔
Michael T — Google review
This is a great park for walking, running, skating. Eagle lake has a paved path that wraps around the entire park. With beautiful views of the lake and shaded by many large trees. Pavillions for eating and sitting, can be rented out for barbecues or birthday parties. It's quiet and peaceful. Also has a dog park and a large playground area.
ARhiauna P — Google review
A very beautiful park with lots of bike trails, plenty of wildlife, lake overlooks, and fresh air
Boris K — Google review
Got lost in here when i came to run but ended up mapping it out for my next trip. Great place for pavilion events and physical activities such as running, catch, relaxation, bike or boarding. There is a body of water I wasn't able to experience this visit but will include next time.
Albert S — Google review
I just go to the small dog park. The dogs and the people are always nice. The bathrooms are close by and nice too. My dog's jumped on a man's lap and he took it very well. They don't normally do that but I want them to be therapy dogs. I say if you're depressed, get a dog. If you can't get a dog, get a cat or a bird or a hamster. LOL

Seafood restaurant
Nestled in the charming Teakwood Village, Roosterfish Grill is a delightful waterfront eatery that has been delighting diners for over six decades. This relaxed spot offers both indoor and outdoor seating, making it perfect for enjoying the fresh air while savoring an array of New American cuisine. Seafood lovers will find themselves in paradise with a menu featuring locally sourced fish, shellfish, and oysters alongside hearty options like grilled steaks and baby back ribs.
This is a very casual restaurant. The staff is friendly and I was impressed that the waiter memorized our orders. There are grilled options for fish which is great for food allergies. They do use butter on the grill so they did not use it for my cod. I had the asparagus which was okay. Honestly, it’s best with vegan butter so I think it was as good as it could be. 😉 The French fries were perfectly crisp and delicious. We kept joking about the paper towels which hang from the ceiling. You will never run out. 😂

1st time at this restaurant for brunch. Hostess greeting was friendly and was seated right away. Ordered the crab stuffed tilapia smothered in hollandaise w garlic mashed pots and Ceasar salad. Was not disappointed, I could actually taste the crab stuffing, fish cooked to perfection. My companions ordered the salmon oscar and Ipswich steamers and enjoyed their tasty dishes as well. Next time, I will order the steamers. The server was excellent. She got the order right and did not hover. Btw, the bartender made a mango Margherita to die for.

First time coming here and it was decent. Lots of menu items for seafood lovers and plenty options for those who don't want seafood. The fried Mushrooms were fresh and made well, probably the best I've ever had! Only issue during the visit was receiving spoiled scallops, when you cut into them you could smell that they were no good. The sever replaced them but we didn't eat them at that point.

Enjoyed our first ever visit to Roosterfish Grill. We stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner and took advantage of the early bird special AYCE Fish and Chips. Our waitress was sweet, attentive and on point throughout our entire visit. We will definitely be back for another dining excursion in the near future.

Roosterfish Grill – Review: Roosterfish Grill is a casual dining restaurant known for its seafood-focused menu, although it also offers a variety of grilled meats, burgers, and appetizers. The seafood dishes, like fish tacos and grilled fish plates, are often highlighted for their freshness and flavor. The ambiance is relaxed and family-friendly, with a coastal, rustic vibe that makes it ideal for casual meals or gatherings. Service is generally friendly and attentive, though it may vary during busy hours. Prices are moderate, reflecting the quality and portion sizes. Overall, Roosterfish Grill is recommended for seafood lovers and anyone seeking a laid-back dining experience with a diverse menu.

Started with the Calamari it was very rubbery served with a marinara sauce.Had the grilled grouper dinner, for $36 it could have been bigger not a lot of flavor ,the fries were very good and coleslaw tasted old.
Don W — Google review
I had a great time at this place. The atmosphere was cozy and full of color, and the paper towels hanging over the table were unique and convenient. The waitress was friendly but seemed a little overwhelmed and forgot to put in my Guinness order. When I asked, she took full responsibility, so I applauded her (Brittany). The food came out rather quickly, and everyone seemed to enjoy it. I ordered the calamari, which was tasty and not rubbery. The fish and chips were done well- the thin and delicious batter. The fries were a bit underwhelming, and I would say they were kid-sized portion-wise. My wife had the shrimp and scallops, and again, they were very tasty. She couldn't finish, and I was happy to help. My mother had the fish and shrimp—four pieces of fish and five to six shrimp—and she was very pleased as well. They also tossed in some light but very tasty hush puppies. I was visiting from out of town, and while I wouldn't make a special trip back if I were in the area, I would stop by again! Parking was pretty good. If it was busy, it could have been a problem. They take all forms of payment, including credit cards and cash.

Absolutely amazing! Everything was delicious. Shepherd Pie and Irish rolls definitely my favorites. Irish coffee had a nice kick, whipped cream is nice and thick. Thanks to Leigh Ann’s (who was great) recommendation I tried Bread Pudding. Delicious!!! Coming back soon ☘️

We had a large table with 12 or 13 women for a small reunion group,. Our server, Andrea did a great job handling all of us. The food was great. The drinks were really good and of course, a fun time had by all. I had the o'keefs. Traditional Irish meatloaf with potatoes and had a beer gravy was very yummy , a few people ordered the Shepherds Pie. Steak was very good too. Someone ordered a chef salad and another large salad with said was very good . Thanks

Just moved to Florida and my car salesman recommended O'Keefes's for lunch. We got the Halfway To ST Pats Special, Fish & Chips. The fish was so fresh & flakes. The batter was excellent. Fries hot & crispy. The slaw was great to. Our waiter, Cameron was a absolute doll. He checked on us in a timely matter to. The atmosphere was super comfy & inviting. This will be a favorite place to eat from now on. Sorry, I had to dig in before I took pictures!😂

I thoroughly enjoyed my imperial burger it was flavorful!! The fish and chips (haddock) was a great order, an amazing serving for a fish lover! Stacey M was pretty awesome and recommended both options over our other choices. Looking forward to returning, the pup enjoyed himself on the patio as well!!

Original visit at this place 30 years ago. Not inexpensive but it is higher end food than you would expect from a tavern. Definitely has a loyal mature customer base. It is moving to a different location nearby. Originally opened in 1961 by Bill O’Keefe as a modest taproom, O’Keefe’s has evolved into a longstanding neighborhood favorite. Expect hearty American classics with an Irish twist—burgers, steaks, seafood, soups, ribs, and traditional favorites such as corned beef & cabbage, shepherd's pie, and more.
Rod M — Google review
A taste of Irish with some modern twists. Inside this place you feel like you have been transported to a pub in Ireland and you can even order a Schmidicks Red. The interior has a typical wooden bar that seems to been old fashioned but fits in so well. The bar lady was wonderful and friendly and had a bit if that Irish attitude which makes the whole experience so wonderful. There is also an outside bar for those who want to maybe roll in on a bike, blades, skateboard or e scooter or e bike. Lovely space.
Emil S — Google review
So, this is tough, because I LOVE me an Irish Pub. The atmosphere is more dark 1970s tavern style than Irish Pub, but it is clean. The employees were all great from the moment we walked in. I had the bangers and mash and was underwhelmed. The sausages were good, but for bangers and mash I would expect a lot more potatoes than the small single scoop on the side, and the gravy tasted like something out of a big bag from the food service. The wife had the shepherds pie and it was very good. All in all, the food was good. The service was great, and the overall experience was... okay.
Buzz M — Google review
The Shepherd’s pie did not taste anything special, had a few peas inside. The taste and size of food was not worth $20. Our server and the ambiance of the place was good. Oh and make sure to listen to the server fries and sweet potato fries is an extra $4 charge to the sandwiches.

If you're looking for a romantic French dinner under candlelight with French background music this isn't your place. Very tight quarters, bright fluorescent lights, loud patrons and no music. Knowing you're going to drop $150 a couple for dinner you kind of want all the above. I had the frog legs appetizer which were very good. Even though I only got three legs. I think that's a frog and a half haha. Not to mention the prices were higher than posted online. I had the ribeye steak which was very tasty. Unfortunately I ordered it medium rare and it came out medium well done. My wife ordered the lobster pasta. Pretty skimpy on lobster for the price. Could have ordered an entire lobster tail for the same price at a upscale seafood restaurant. The staff was very friendly which I think was the owner. The restaurant was very clean. Limited parking.

Whether you’re enjoying a casual meal or celebrating a special occasion like a baby shower in one of their private rooms, Olive Garden consistently delivers exceptional service and delicious food.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Olive Garden, and I must say that the service provided by Tiff and Heather was absolutely outstanding. From the moment we walked in, both servers made us feel welcome with their warm smiles and friendly attitudes. Tiff was incredibly attentive, always checking in to make sure our drinks were full and that we had everything we needed. She was knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations, which made our dining experience even better. Heather, on the other hand, brought such positive energy to the table. She was quick to deliver our food and ensured that everything was prepared to perfection. Her genuine enthusiasm and professionalism really stood out, making us feel like valued guests rather than just another table to serve. Both Tiff and Heather worked seamlessly together, creating a smooth and enjoyable experience. Their teamwork and dedication to providing top-notch service truly deserve recognition. We enjoy this Olive Garden location for consistently good service and food quality. We always have great service and the food is always consistent - cold salad served on chilled plates, warm bread plates for the breadsticks and meals large enough to enjoy the next day with leftovers. Our older: I ordered the salad, my husband and daughter ordered the Chicken Gnocchi Soup. My husband loves their traditional Spaghetti and Meatballs and my daughter was inspired to add Meatballs to her Fettuccine Alfredo. I ordered the Eggplant Parmesan, but forgot to take pictures. If you visit this location, request Tobias as your server - he’s a sweetheart! We like to fill up on soup and salad and enjoy our pasta the next day for lunch. We always leave with a lot of food and enjoy the family atmosphere at Olive Garden. Their Tiramisu is also wonderful!

We had a large party of 10 persons for a hospice reunion. We do this twice a year. Three times if we can schedule it and we go to different restaurants all over the Pinellas county area. We had 2 great servers, Emma and Lily question mark they were patient? And kind, several of us nurses are retired and take longer to order than others. A couple of us, unlucky gals are still working. Ha ha. We all ordered multiple different entrees. A few of us had build your own pasta with soup or salad. And with this choice, your soup or salad is refillable. I had the pasta with the 5 cheese sauce. I chose soups, and I have the Toscana, and then I had minestrone, all were very yummy. Pasta (bucachelli pasta) was done nicely Al Dente as I like it. Everyone was happy with their meals. Most of us had leftovers to take home. Several of us had a glass of wine or 2. I had a wonderful red roscata that I really enjoyed. It was not too dry and was quite sweet. Very nice dinner wine. Thank you. We will be back

Came here absolutely starving and since they serve big portions and have never ending salads and breadsticks it just really did the job.. the picture doesn’t really do its justice but the food was very tasty.

We were very disappointed with the service during our last visit with our waitress, Nayarose J. 1. We had to wait a very long time for our cocktails, which spoiled the start of the evening. 2. When the dishes with cheese were brought, the cheese ended up all over the table, making it dirty and messy. The server should have done this at her service station and then placed the dishes on our table. 3. The waitress asked us to pay the check even though we weren’t planning to leave yet. She explained that she wanted to go home and needed to close out her shift. We don’t think that should be the guests’ concern. 4. During service, the waitress was scratching herself a lot. She said she had an allergy but continued to handle dishes and utensils. This was very unpleasant and unhygienic. 5. She started clearing plates without asking if we had finished eating. She stacked the dishes in front of us as if she were in a dishwashing station. When we asked for new utensils, she brought them but placed the plates down almost by throwing them, with loud clattering. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional. 6. Several times the server interrupted our conversation to ask if everything was okay. However, she approached while we were clearly in the middle of talking. We had to stop, respond, and then try to remember what we had been discussing. This was disruptive, annoying, and inconsiderate. The food was good—thanks to the kitchen—and we did leave a tip. But the overall service was extremely poor: a dirty table, intrusive interruptions, unhygienic behavior, and rudeness. We hope the management pays attention to these issues so that the quality of service matches the reputation of the restaurant.

Savory Restaurant is a family-owned eatery that has been serving up traditional homestyle Italian, Greek, and American cuisine for over 45 years. The Lagoudakis family brings over 40 years of experience to the table and ensures exceptional service in a relaxed atmosphere. Diners can enjoy freshly prepared dishes from scratch with generous portions.
This is an outstanding restaurant that makes me think of the old fashioned mom and pop places in the 90’s. Service was great and the food was really good. The portions were very generous. I got the Turkey Club sandwich and it was so good. They serve breakfast too so my family also got pancakes and an omelette. The Smokehouse Hamburger was rated highly by my teenage son. Atmosphere was very small town feel and felt down home. Highly recommend!

Went for breakfast and got the Veggie Omelette with hash browns and a side of Blueberry Pancakes. I tried alot of restaurants in the surrounding area. This was the best Omelet I have had in a long time. The eggs were fluffy and perfect all the way through. Flavor was just on another level judging Omelettes. The Blueberry Pancakes were up there with my favorite pancakes at Cracker Barrel. This is my new place to go for breakfast. Was bummed out when we pulled in to eat today They are closed on Mondays but will be back again for sure and try there lunch. +AAA

Great place for dinner or lunch. They have a wide variety of food options. Want Italian- they have it. Want Greek - Check. Burgers or a different sandwiches- they got it. They offer so much! The food is delicious and the service is excellent. I enjoy eating at an establishment that can fulfill anyone's cravings. Don't forget to check out their desserts as well! So good.

Very busy place so the service is a little slow, but the waitresses were working very hard and the food was good. The children’s meals are large. The omelettes are very large.

The best family owned restaurant in the area! Savory is always consistent and the quality is exceptional. You can tell how much they put into the freshness of their food and I’ve never had a negative experience. The omelets are some of the fluffiest I’ve had, you can’t go wrong with any of their specials and love the creative menu! You’ll never leave hungry and some of the best prices around. The owners truly want their customers to have the best dining experience. Clean, fresh and always crave the food at Savory.

“Friendly Service and Family Vibes” This spot is perfect for a quick, no-frills meal. The food is simple and predictable, but the warm, attentive service really shines. It’s a clean, family-friendly space where the staff makes you feel welcome. Not gourmet, but great for a casual, fuss-free outing. Owners/Mgt : Your main entrance door handle wrapped in dirty cloth tape, is not hygienic to your customers. Washrooms could use professional cleaning on a regular daily basis.

Rating: Killah! Wonderful staff. Our waitress was so nice. She greeted us, made us feel welcome, and kept up great service the entire visit. Food was amazing, hot, fresh, and tasty. Restaurant was clean and comfortable. We went for breakfast and we both got the French Toast Combo. Superb!
