Tarpon Springs

Tarpon Springs is a city on central Florida’s Gulf Coast. Greek eateries line waterfront Dodecanese Boulevard, a legacy of the Greek sponge divers who settled here in the early 1900s. Along the water, the Historic Sponge Docks are a reminder of the once booming industry. The 1940s St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church has stained glass and a Grecian marble altar. Tarpon Springs Aquarium displays Gulf marine life.

The Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks offer a unique experience where visitors can explore the historic sponge industry, dine at authentic Greek restaurants, and shop for handmade soaps and sponges. The docks have been in operation for over 135 years and are lined with creaking sponge boats along the Anclote River canal. Visitors can stroll along Dodecanese Boulevard, where they'll find a mix of souvenir shops and Greek eateries bustling with crowds.
We visited Tarpon Springs and the Sponge Docks on a weekday after a business appointment. It is a beautiful, Greek atmosphere, town, which offers a great selection of shopping and food options. The restaurants are all in walking distance from several parking areas. Parking is priced fairly, most of the offers are for all day parking. We paid $8 for the day, which I consider very reasonable. We stopped by several of the stores and looked into sponge and soap stores. We also ate dinner at one of the restaurants. If you are in the area, Tarpon Springs needs to be on your schedule. My personal score is a 4.7.

This was the cutest and the most interesting place. Greek town. I could have spent all day looking at the boats in the harbor and all of the shops had the most creative things in the them. Homemade soap with sponges in them. It was such a creative and welcoming town. Great place to walk around. All of the Greek food was an adventure for sure, but delicious.
Brit J — Google review
I loved walking around and looking through each of the stores. Such a beautiful town by the docks. Bought candy of course and these wonderful spices to try when I get back home. The Greek restaurants are abundant and I didn't have room to try any, we had breakfast before going here... darn it! Because I love authentic Greek food, yum!
Tracy B — Google review
Such a pleasant place! It has a nice variety of local shops and plenty of options to enjoy a meal or a drink. Since it was a rainy day, there weren’t many people around, which actually made it even better — we got to enjoy everything more comfortably and didn’t have to wait to get into any spot!
E V — Google review
One of the best places in Tampa to visit. Lots of local shops, great deals and restaurants. Most of shops are selling famous sponges, sea shells, clothing, potteries, local food, teas, herbs, flowers and so much more. It gets pretty crowded on the weekends, so make sure you’re bringing your wallet and credit cards with you to buy souvenirs from the stores. Come early so you can see all the local shops and booths.
Amy K — Google review
I loved my experience here. Most of the shops have the same stuff in it but it the feel of the area that I believe is why people visit here. The 2 hour dolphin tour is great!
Teresa O — Google review
I was unaware that Tarpon Springs is a Greek town. It features a plethora of local Greek shops, restaurants, bakeries, and cafes. I really enjoyed my visit, taking a pleasant stroll through the town and hopping from shop to shop to find some sponges and handmade Greek olive oil bar soaps.
P H — Google review
It is a very pleasant place to visit. You will enjoy every minute you spend there until you realized that time is not the only thing you spent. Right after you left you will start questioning your financial decisions. Expensive has different meaning, maybe even new meaning at Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks.

Nature & Parks
Fred Howard Park, situated along the Gulf of Mexico, is a bustling and popular destination that spans over 150 acres. It offers a range of activities including beach access, fishing, kayaking, wind surfing, and swimming. The park also features picnic shelters, playgrounds, and restroom facilities. Nearby Spring Bayou boasts historic mansions and a serene white sand beach shaded by palm trees. Visitors can also explore the Shrine of St.
This was our first time going. The beach was clean and easily accessible from the parking lot. It was quiet and very family friendly. The water was calm and gradually got deeper making it perfect for my two young boys to play. The beach at the busiest time was not crowded with plenty of space around each family. It's located close to the sponge docks and restaurants if you wanted to make a day out of it. We will definitely be taking our kids back this summer!
Jessica B — Google review
Went to Fred Howard to kayak. Easily found the launch, which was not busy. You start the day in a mangrove tunnel, which was a lot of fun. However you do need to get in the water briefly to get your boat deep enough in the water and it's muddy. Recommend to have bug spray applied as you go through the tunnel. Be prepared to break your paddle down and use it like a canoe paddle as the tunnel is very narrow. Between marker 1 and 3 it goes well. At 3, the path narrows nad you have no choice to turn towards open water. Once on open water, it's calm and relaxing.

Nice spot to stay in Family, we love being so close to nature, this particular park has trail's bikes roads and kayaking zones to bring visitors safety and comfort. Visit and enjoy
Luis P — Google review
Nice for a relaxing time to walk & get grounded They have portapottie right now. Great place to bring small children It's not very deep. The park is also shaded and beautiful before you get out to the beach

A park ranger came around immediately at sunset and kicked everyone out. He was nice about it. Just seemed a little early. People were still trying to take photos. BEAUTIFUL place. Highly recommend!

Beautiful location. Kids friendly beach. When we were there, too many sea grass on the beach. Even though we live in east coast of Florida, my daughter still enjoyed it.
HTUN L — Google review
Beautiful white sandy beaches. Not crowded on a Wednesday afternoon. Clean water.
Deborah S — Google review
I love this beach. It’s not usually as crowded as other beaches in the area, sometimes I see dolphins, there’s a little bit of shade here and there, and the sunsets here are gorgeous!

Orthodox church
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
The Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Tarpon Springs is a stunning example of New Byzantine architecture, inspired by Constantinople's St. Sofia Cathedral. The interior boasts intricate stained glass, elaborate icons, and sculpted Grecian marble. Built in 1943 to replace an earlier church from 1907, the cathedral is not only a marvel of design but also a focal point for the local Greek-American community.
The St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral is breathtaking! I am not Greek, nor religious, but I can appreciate history and beauty when I see it. The exterior of the cathedral is beautiful and well kept, but the interior is amazingly maintained. St. Nicholas cathedral has to be one of the most beautiful and clean places of worship that I have ever been in! This coming from someone whose high school graduation was at the infamous St. Patrick's cathedral in New York City.
Erik P — Google review
Visited on a weekday the week following Easter. A kind woman explained to another visitor the church h isn't open during the week except following Easter. Beyond stunning. A warm welcome. 🙏💜

Absolutely Amazing Church! It’s in a historic Area in Tarpon Springs Florida. The Cathedral is Beautiful. I like going in once in a while and lighting a candle. It’s very peaceful. This Greek Orthodox Church is a Must See if you are in The Tarpon Springs area! Here are some Pictures of the Church inside and outside as well.

This place is incredible. I took this picture around 7:45p and it's just poetic. I'm taking a class to learn the Greek language at the church and they're so awesome, accommodating, thoughtful and open to educating anyone. If learning the Greek language or anything about the Greek Orthodox interests you in the slightest, I am sure that there's a class, program, contact or other reference they can offer to help learn about the religion, customs, etc. It's worth it, I promise.

Aquarium
Zoos & Aquariums
Nestled at the Sponge Docks' west end, the Tarpon Springs Aquarium and Animal Sanctuary offers an engaging experience for families and animal lovers alike. This charming facility showcases around 30 species of fish alongside fascinating reptiles like eels, snakes, alligators, and sharks. Visitors can enjoy interactive moments during narrated feedings where they might even touch some of these incredible creatures.
I'd give more stars if I could! My 2 teenage sons and I visited today and had a great time here. This place is just fantastic! . There is so much to see here, the shows are fantastic and very informative. We were lucky enough to hold a small alligator and feed sharks, turtles and goats. The staff are all super friendly and it has a great atmosphere too. There are so many different animals to see and touch. We all had a very enjoyable time and will be back again soon. I would highly recommend a visit here, and the other 5 star reviews are well deserved.
Mark C — Google review
Such an amazing experience. All the staff was super nice. My 3 young kids got to not only interact with nearly every animal but they got a chance to hold a snake, an alligator, feed sharks, feed stingrays, turtles, and so much more. Prices were extremely reasonable compared to major places. I will definitely be coming back. Well worth it even if you have to drive 2 hours. Just go and you won't regret it.
Glenn S — Google review
We didn't even know this existed, but enjoyed it tremendously. It is a small, hands-on aquarium with lots of other animals too. It is smaller than most aquariums, but it was great for the price and not over crowded. They have 2 large aquariums with various fish and sharks. They do shows at different times with a diver in the tank and highlight the various animals. They have touch tanks. Our favorite was the stingrays. They also have a bunch of farm animals as well. You can purchase food to feed the various animals.
Melissa J — Google review
This is a great place to bring young kids. I came with my 3yr and 5yr old. They loved it. The hourly shows are cool. We stayed for the scuba and the gator show. Very entertaining. Also don’t miss the chance to feed the different animals. The baby sharks were our fav to feed. It’s a nice local spot.
Francis W — Google review
Decided to check it out due to the awesome reviews and it was definitely worth it! We've been to several bigger Aquariums and this one is a more unique, less crowded and personal experience. A family run operation with lots of volunteers all the animals looked extremely well taken care of. Some of the high points: ⭐ Touch tanks with no wait. We came at 11am and if you bought the feeding tickets the sting rays took it right out of your hand! ⭐ We saw two live shows and got to touch several other animals, even got to hold a baby alligator 🐊 We've been to Alligator Farm in St Augustine and they charge like $40 to hold and have your picture with a baby alligator. ⭐ Got to pet the farm animals and walk among the chickens/rooster/duck/turkeys you can go in and pet even without feeding them for this part. ⭐ A big tortoise chilling and walking around the park also was allowed to be "pet". ⭐ Got to see the reptiles get fed around 11:30am in their shaded corridor. ⭐ It looks like they will let you bring in a lunch box and sit at picnic tables to eat, there's also a snack shack right there. ⭐ Not one rude or unhappy staff person even though it was 95 degrees and there were some screaming little ones. Impressive! We tag teamed it with the free splash pad around the corner and there's several drive thru's on 19 thereafter. A fun day trip and supporting a family run aquarium and animal sanctuary. Buy tickets at the desk for -20% FL residents discount.
ImpulsePoleDance — Google review
Had a great time today. From the fun of feeding the alligators, holding 1, seeing the baby gators, the crocodiles, feeding sharks.... all the creatures were so very lively and active. The staff has such amazing energy and really include the audience in their presentations. If you can only make it to 1 aquarium in the area I highly suggest giving this your time and attention. Thank you for all you do
Ben T — Google review
This place is a lot bigger than I thought. We took plenty of pictures. The staff was very friendly. They have fans & water so if you get hot. Lot of it's covered so no direct sun. Adding a few pictures to give you an idea of what they have. They have shows in each section at different times. Price is reasonable especially if you get the annual pass. You can also purchase tickets to feed the fish as animals.
Daniel — Google review
Parking lot is dirt and full of holes so deep you have to drive around them. Staff is vary friendly and helpful. Not a vary big place but what they have is vary cool I got to hold a baby alligator and the shows are good to. Little pricey I thought for what they have and the time you actually spend there.

Modern art museum
The Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art, located on the St. Petersburg College campus in Tarpon Springs, Florida, is a contemporary and modern art museum that boasts an extensive collection of 20th-century art. The museum features works by Abraham Rattner and other modern masters in eight permanent galleries, along with special exhibits and educational programs throughout the year.
This was so cool and a great surprise. Was looking for things to do on a Saturday morning and glad we stopped in here. Lots of fun art, free but donations encouraged. It had a lot of cool mediums and the lady at the desk was so nice. Stop by here if you want something to do for an hour in some AC!
John L — Google review
Lovely stroll through the museum! Always worth seeing the permanent collection at Leroy-Rattner! There was some construction going on so parts of building was closed. Still a delight.
M V — Google review
Really enjoyed my visit to this small art museum! Even though it’s not huge, the exhibits were creative, engaging, and well put together. The space is peaceful and easy to walk through, and the staff were welcoming. A hidden gem that’s definitely worth checking out if you’re nearby!
Alexis B — Google review
Highly recommend this exhibit to anyone interested in art or artists 🎨 featuring miniature paintings, artwork by alot of local artists currently. We went on a Sunday around 2pm and were surprised by how many people were there. It is absolutely FREE to the public.!! 😊 Local artists were there answering questions about their work for the kids that shared their interest in art. Definitely a worthwhile visit 🎨 🖼 🎭 . Closed on Mondays!
DeDe D — Google review
Very nice free art museum. Has permanent exhibits as well as rotating special ones.
Ron K — Google review
Still my favorite modern art museum. I love the rotating artwork they put out a long with Rattners artwork.
Shannon S — Google review
I came here for an assignment, and the museum is quite nice! It is very peaceful and quiet. The Dalí Museum I have been to prior was nice but crowed and bloated with merch taking up way too much space...And overpriced. Here, the work speaks for itself and the staff is very knowledgeable and kind. Many people may not even know this is here, so spread the word and check it out!
Michael T — Google review
Wonderful small museum with a beautifully displayed collection, principally featuring the art of modern expressionist Abraham Rattner. It was well worth the visit. We particularly loved the interactive "April Showers" installation. Enjoyed shopping in the gift shop, too!

Seafood restaurant
Rusty Bellies Waterfront Grill, Inc. is a beloved family-owned eatery in the Tampa Bay area, known for its local seafood and laid-back atmosphere. It's not just a restaurant; it also operates as a seafood market and owns three fishing boats that provide fresh catches for both the market and the menu. The menu pays homage to revered fishing boats in Tarpon Springs, offering a variety of dishes including fresh fish, shrimp caught by the owner's father, burgers, and tropical drinks.
Rusty Bellies was phenomenal. When we arrived there was a wait time of 20-30 minutes for a table of 3. We only waited about 20 minutes and the communication was great. It looked very packed but that didn’t surprise me as the food was very fresh and delicious. It was worth the wait. Our server Henry, was very polite and checked on us the entire time. I really enjoyed seeing all the old photos of the restaurant, it tells a story and wasn’t too loud for being a packed house. I loved that it was on the water! I enjoyed the table hush puppies, for my entree I got the Rusty Pot Belly Bucket with the Eleni’s Juicy Boil, Cajun mix with onions and Garlic and man that was a chefs kiss. The seafood was very fresh and no I didn’t save a bite! I will be back to this wonderful place!
Elyssia S — Google review
Tried this spot for the first time and honestly, the food was just really solid. Super fresh seafood, cooked well, and nothing felt overdone or overly fancy — just clean, simple flavors that worked. You can tell they care about the ingredients. Service was chill and the place had a nice, easygoing vibe. Definitely one of those places I’d go back to without thinking twice.
Manoj M — Google review
Wow! I already want to go back. The atmosphere had a vacation vibe, which I wanted. The food tasted fresh and delicious! We were given a bag of hush puppies to munch on while we waited to order. The drinks were yummy. My only complaint was they were too busy. Hahah!
Christine A — Google review
After going to Fred Howard Beach we were hungry for a nice lunch, seafood was on our minds. I googled best seafood near me and Rusty Bellies came up. We gave it a try and were so happy we did! The parking validation for a nearby lot giving 5 hrs was a nice touch. All staff was nice and we had a 20 min wait as told when checking in, promptly seated and our lovely wait person Lele was excellent, friendly, efficient and kept drinks filled. I had the Madame Butterfly shrimp with rice and Brussels sprouts, yummy. My guy had fried clam strips and French fries & cold slaw. I tried his clams and we both agreed they were the best we have had in years, sweet, tender and crisp, light, not greasy. Oh and right after being seated we were given a bag of fresh, delicious hush puppies, the best I’ve ever had. Once again, light, crisp yet soft on the inside, someone knows how to cook these correctly! A great dining experience with a nice view of the water and boats passing by too. We will be back!
Kiki W — Google review
Food was good, not great. The restaurant was very busy, but it was Sunday and lunch time in the tourist trap that is Tarpon Springs. We had an outside table, but it was kind of jammed in the walkway behind the bar. Super loud! Waitress was very friendly but our food took 45 min to arrive. My fish tacos were ok, I paid extra for the “fresh grouper” but it didn’t taste fresh. My wife had the Greek salad which was very good. Serving hush puppies to each table instead of bread was a nice touch.
Dave B — Google review
New to the area and we are still exploring waterfront eateries. Rusty Bellies did not disappoint!! We were seated outside overlooking the Anclote River, and it was a gorgeous full moon evening. I went simple…peel and eat garlic shrimp and a house salad. The salad was crisp, with pecans, raisins, goat cheese. The shrimp were huge, fresh and flavorful. The garlic wine sauce was so good I couldn’t stop eating it. I brought home a leftovers because of the generous portions. My boyfriend had the crab soup and seafood Mac and cheese, he loved both. The complementary hush puppies add to the charm and atmosphere. If you’re looking for fresh seafood from local sources in a warm and welcoming southern eatery, go to Rusty Bellies. It’s near historic Tarpon sponge docks and parking is free across the street which was a nice bonus. I can’t wait to go back and have more shrimp lol.
Sarah M — Google review
We have eaten at Rusty Bellies numerous times before. Sometimes it was muah and other times meh. Being on the water is always the best part so a consistent solid ten for atmosphere. This time we went for lunch via the trail and it was gorgeous out. Sunny and 75 🌞. Server was on point and had great suggestions. Started with the crab wontons and then greek salad and hot peel and eat shrimp. Ordered a lovely French Pear Martini that I would gladly have swimmed in, it was so delicious. Five stars today, Rusty! Great way to spend a beautiful afternoon on the docks. Now to ride my bike back after that gorgeous martini....😎
April T — Google review
Food was delicious!! That crab bisque is out of this world!! There were generous portions of crab throughout a most deliciously rich and thick bisque! I wish I had snapped a pic to share! I did however take a picture of dinner which was the Chicken Dakota. Sauteed chicken breast in a lemon cream sauce with tender pieces of artichoke, topped with feta cheese served with rice. The fish dip appetizer and hush puppies were also delicious! Our server, Henry, was fantastic! He stayed on top of drink refills, kept the table clear of empty plates and glasses and came by often to check on us. Very friendly and efficient. Hard to find qualities in restaurants these days! Try this place, ask for Henry, and you WON'T be disappointed!

Nestled in the lively Sponge Docks area, this ocean-blue taverna boasts a warm ambiance with Hellenic murals and tiled floors. The menu features an array of traditional Greek dishes and pastries, from classic gyros to sweet baklava.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The best service ever! Shaun is amazing — as soon as we arrived, he greeted us with a smile, asked what we needed, and even brought us water without us asking. He’s incredibly attentive and helpful, definitely the best waiter this restaurant has. The food was a 10/10: delicious, fresh, and perfectly prepared. My mom is visiting from Colombia, and she was absolutely delighted with everything. Everything was exquisite and full of flavor. We will definitely be coming back!

Amazing. The first thing you will notice is the beautiful decor, including hand painted murals. Then you will be welcomed by the friendly and attentive staff. Next you will be treated to a fine selection of delicious family specialties prepared from scratch. Be sure to save room for one of the dozens of fresh baked pastries. Or take some home with you. This was an all around delightful dining experience! Worth a special trip. Bonus: free parking for patrons behind the restaurant. A $10 value!

Seated promptly and greeted with smiles. Our waiter Tom gave top notch service and very professional, assets to their business... All the stars in the sky Tom, loved your old fashioned mustache. The food was excellent. Unfortunately it was so delicious I forgot to take pictures. Gyro open face was same but separated. Fabulous flavors and absolutely delicious.. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.. Tarpon Springs is Sponge Capital with the best Greek food and amazing desserts.

Hellas Greek Restaurant & Bakery – Review We visited Hellas after our cruise on the Odyssey. It was a Sunday, and with most restaurants closed, we were so glad to find Hellas open and welcoming (they serve until about 9:30–10 PM). Our server was incredibly hospitable, making us feel right at home. Since we had our pet with us, we chose to sit outside, and it was a pleasant experience. As vegetarians, we were happy to find options on the menu. The portion sizes are generous, so we shared our dishes and still left feeling full and satisfied. Overall, it was a warm, relaxed dinner with great service and hearty food — the perfect ending to our day.

This place is amazing! Our Greek friend sent us with a list of required treats from Hellas Bakery. We purchased Coconut Pasta, Chocolate Kok and Baklava as instructed. Next we headed into Hellas Restaurant. We ordered the Avgolemomo Soup (Lemon Soup) also recommended by Friend Steve. It is a light chicken, egg and lemon soup with orzo pasta and comes with Greek Bread and seasoned olive oil for dipping. Fantastic! Soup was so delicious with the most subtle delicate lemon flavor. My friend got the Gyro and pronounced it, very good and homemade Taziki sauce, excellent! I chose the Grouper Sandwich and switched my fries for potato salad. Potato Salad was delicious with light dressing and a few nice crunchy chopped veggies. I am usually a mustard potato salad fan, but this was good with great fresh potato flavor. The Grouper Sandwich was a lovely, thick filet, perfectly fried, crunchy on the outside and moist and juicy on the inside. Sandwich came on a nice toasted bun with lettuce and tomato. I skipped the tartar sauce and added some Taziki to my sandwich and it was great! Our Server, Kevin, was friendly, helpful and attentive which made our lunch even better. The whole dining experience was exceptional! Fully sated, the bakery goods were enjoyed the next day but everything from the bakery was amazing. Rich Chocolate Kok was chocolate sponge cake wedges, sandwiched with a light chocolate filling and rich, dark chocolate icing on top. Coconut Pasta was a delicious moist yellow cake with white (poss buttercream?) frosting and a very generous topping of toasted coconut. Baklava was traditional with toasted Philo dough and very fresh nuts and honey in the layers. Sticky and wonderful! Grateful thanks to our friend Steve for his recommendation. We will make Helllas Restaurant & Bakery a required stop in this area. Highly recommend Hellas Restaurant and Bakery! Kate the Artist

The bakery is right next to the restaurant. Nice and bright inside with booths and tables and chairs. Very quick to order your deserts. Authentic Greek bakery !! I had the cannoli it was so delicious, creamy filling with lots of chocolate chips. The chocolate cheese cake was good but not the best I've had. Still worth going.

We have frequented Hellas Restaurant & Bakery for over 20 years!!! We have taken many visitors and relatives who later RAVED about their experience! Talk about delicious and authentic! The portions are huge! The service is fantastic! (Recently had Robert as our server and he was phenomenal!!! Very polite, very efficient and did a fabulous job of taking care of our needs). We did the OPA (flaming cheese!) and talk about delicious! The presentation was outstanding and part of the Greek experience! (Thank you Robert!). The employees are so happy and friendly, and seem to love what they do, which speaks volumes for the management! The Bakery is a must! Even if you are filled to the gill, take something to-go as we always do! We took the Skolotopita Chocolate Sponge Cake to-go and it was so yummy!!! When we left the Restaurant, we noticed a huge, colorful rainbow over the Restaurant! Even the heaven's love Hella's! ❤️

Greek restaurant
Restaurant
Mr. Souvlaki is a long-standing, family-run Greek eatery located in the historic Sponge Docks area of Tarpon Springs, FL. For over 30 years, it has been a favorite among locals and visitors alike for its blend of traditional and contemporary Greek flavors. The restaurant offers a simple yet classy atmosphere and serves homestyle Greek dishes along with beer and wine.
So bright and clean atmosphere! Love the grilled octopus so tender, my son loves it and he is only 7 years old! But the lamb giros to die for!! The server gift us a bit of a fresh desert made of rice, wow excellent service for sure. We were more than please and recommend to not missed it when you around town!!
Margie N — Google review
We have been to Mr. Souvlaki before and thought the food might have been better. The food is still good though. That said the chow mein was a little dry and the chicken was over seasoned, too salty. So, good location, good price point, good service, and pretty good food. Beware if you are looking for a sign off the road, the last hurricane must have blown it out. This should be prioritized as the restaurant is off a busy street, and we and our guests both drove by the restaurant as we were looking for the sign. I love the large windows and how bright the restaurant room is. Our waitress was a real sweetheart. The iced tea was fresh brewed and excellent, and the refills kept coming. So still a good spot to frequent.

My family has been here before and this was my first time. We had a party of 10 and were seated immediately upon arrival. Our waitress, Vicki, was absolutely amazing! She was friendly, funny, and blended right in with the shenanigans that my family was dishing out. My wife and I shared the full-sized Chicken Chow Mein, which was recommended by another friend who was also at the restaurant with his family when we arrived. That dish was so good! It was a big portion as well because both of us ate til we were full, and we still had leftovers to take home with us. We also ran into another friend from my wife's teenaged days back in NYC that apparently comes to this restaurant every Sunday. So, when he walked in, we were so happy to see him again! It's a very clean and beautiful restaurant. The staff was so friendly as well. They even took the pics of our family and friend. I saved this on my map as a Favorite and will certainly be back again!

A great experience with 9 of us around a round table. The food was adventurous for some of us and the overall sense was very positive!

We wanted to try a different Greek restaurant from the ones we have already tried in Tarpon Springs. We read the reviews on Mr. Souvlaki and after trying it for ourselves, we agree with the many positive reviews. The staff are very attentive, greeting us from the moment we walked through the door and checking on us throughout our meal. The restaurant is very clean and the decor is very nice, including the restrooms. I ordered the gyro sandwich, which I think might be the best one I've ever had, with a side of fries which were cooked to perfection. My husband had the combo plate and loved it. We were given rice pudding for dessert on the house. As a child I would never eat this, but I loved it!! This is our new favorite Greek restaurant!!

We had an incredible experience at Mr. Souvlaki restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, every dish was bursting with flavor and made with the freshest ingredients. You can truly taste the love and heart they put into each meal. We tried the Greek chow mein, Greek salad, octopus, shrimp, calamari, and saganaki - and every single dish was outstanding. The quality, freshness, and seasoning were spot on! The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and perfect for families. It felt like we were dining in someone’s home- relaxed, friendly, and full of heart. What really stood out (besides the phenomenal food) was how clean the place was. Honestly, it was spotless- you could eat off the floor! It’s clear they take great pride not only in their food, but in every detail of the space. Service was equally impressive: fast, friendly, and genuinely caring. The staff made us feel like valued guests from start to finish. Highly recommend this place- a true gem for authentic Greek cuisine, made and served with heart. We’ll definitely be back!

The food here was fantastic! The service was fast, and the portions left us feeling so full. The prices match those of other Greek restaurants in the area. I definitely plan to return. The lamb gyro and gyro fries have me coming back for more! The restaurant is lovely inside. I wish I had taken a photo.

Creole restaurant
H'ours Creole Smokehouse offers a unique dining experience that combines traditional New Orleans creole dishes with a Florida twist. Located in a historic Queen Anne building in downtown Tarpon Springs, the restaurant provides both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu features fresh local produce and high-quality meats, with weekly rotations to ensure the freshest ingredients. Open for dinner, the restaurant is closed on Sundays and Wednesdays but is well worth the visit.
Our server Ronie was amazing despite our large group split between two tables and the fact that we had people coming over an hour late to the reservation and adding chairs and sitting up and down in different places during the dinner. There was also an issue with the computer causing a delay in the checks being rang up but Ronie did her best and we appreciated it a lot. Other resturants wouldn't have been this accommodating with the group size. And a lot have a check averaging for large party sizes, so this was very nice of them to do that for us. The music was great and the food was typical New Orleans fair. Desert is really good with the local ice cream on top. The bread pudding, peach crisp, chocolate cake and keylime pie were all good.

10 ⭐️ get the tri tips. Delectable! The tri tips, pork belly red beans and rice, bourbon pecan pie and whiskey butter bread pudding were delicious! Absolutely delicious and great service and ambiance also. The loud disruptive drunk couple behind us was not pleasant and I feel the staff could have intervened but instead offered them MORE alcoholic beverages 🤦. Outside of them being allowed to be obnoxiously loud it was a good experience. The food was on point! Managers should encourage the staff to better handle the situation but the food was so good I can’t even pull a star away for it. Check this spot out. You won’t regret the food

We had the most delicious meal last night. Todd our server was warm, funny and very attentive. We had a Caesar salad big enough to share, smoked beef short rib appetizer, smoked beef tenderloin and shrimp and crawfish ettofee. Everything was so delicious!

Overall it was an amazing dinner. I had the butter fish dish (“incredible!”) and my friend had the chicken jambalaya (“very good”). The only issue I had was the waiter made a mistake with my order and brought the wrong dish for me when he brought our food. He admitted the mistake, but I had to wait an additional 20 min while my friend ate his dish and there was no “compensation.” I would have expected our dessert to be free or asked I wanted an appetizer in the house, but nothing was offered for their mistake and my wait. I still recommend it but I suggest they do a better at making up for their mistakes like other quality restaurants do.

Had the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer followed by Shrimp and Crawfish étouffée. My daughter had the Shrimp and Grits appetizer as a meal. Everything tasted great. Food and service were excellent. Great drinks and they had a blues band playing great tunes. Outstanding atmosphere.

First time visiting. Made a reservation online, easily, for 6:30 but went there early to see the band, outside. Due to the approaching storm, we sat at the outside bar with many fun people that visit the restaurant, often. Employees Lori and Elissa were so nice and chatted with everyone as they constantly kept the bar area clean and organized. Our food, Smoked Chicken Jambalaya and Creole Butterfish were absolutely delicious!!! We asked Lori to please tell the chef how much we enjoyed the food and to our surprise, she brought him out. The chef is actually the owner and we learned that he worked in NOLA for many years. His knowledge of Cajun food, combined with his cooking skills, really shows. We have visited many Cajun restaurants that haven't had the fortune of staying in business. We are so happy to finally get to H'ours, which has been in business for many years, and we will definitely return! We didn't save room for dessert but saw many patrons eating bread pudding. One patron even got an order to take home to their son! We also noticed the Old Fashioned drink was a popular happy hour choice.

Why does this place not have a Michelin star??? My parents have a house down in Tarpon. My wife and I are from Tennessee. Every time we visit, our main focal point is visiting H’ours. The cuisine and service is beyond belief. We can’t say enough about this establishment. To say it feels like home is an understatement. If you get the chance to visit, ask to sit in Todd’s section. His brother is the chef. They are a double edged sword!! We pray for their success daily. The picture attached is their pork belly on red beans and rice, collard greens, and the best jalapeño corn bread I’ve ever had!

The appetizers looked great so we just got lots of those. Get the Bandil arose bottle. It's a great match, value, and wine to boot!

Restaurant
The Limani is a charming eatery nestled along the waterfront at the Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks. Despite its unassuming exterior, this cozy spot is renowned for its delectable Greek cuisine, including mouthwatering gyros, chicken kabobs, pork souvlaki, and feta fries. The restaurant offers generous portion sizes at reasonable prices and provides an authentic Greek dining experience with outdoor seating overlooking the water.
Stopped in here on a busy Saturday and couldn’t recommend this place enough. No frills CASH ONLY quick gyros and Greek food. Went with the gyro and some fried shrimp. This place is amazing and one of the best gyros I’ve ever had. Stop in here if you don’t want to wait for table service.

The best gyro pita I've ever had! 10/10. We also got garlic potatoes on the side, and they were amazing too. As a Turk, I've had a lot of gyros, and this one was the best. The fish pita was fantastic, and the view was great as well. I hope they always maintain the same taste and quality.

The Best gyro I have had in the past 10 years. The pita is warm and soft, the meat perfectly seasoned and tender, and the tzatziki is creamy with just the right amount of garlic. Feta fries were Fantastic. Fresh toppings and generous portions make it a must-try.

Great gyro! One of the best. The chicken kabobs were good also. Feta fries were a hit. Cash only here, but they do have an ATM.

This places is awesome. This is the best greek food I’ve had in all USA. I have been in this place several times. This could not be the most beautiful restaurant but their food and the atmosphere is the closest to greek that you will ever experience. Everything in the menu is prepared at the moment, food is super fresh, flavors are on point. We ordered a pork and chicken souvlaki kabobs plate, pita and tzatziki sauce and a Gyro pita. Everything was fresh and tasted excellent. I have tried almost everything on the menu and never felt disappointed. This is one of the examples I use to tell everybody that you don’t need to go to a fancy restaurant to eat really good food.
