Museums
The Figge Art Museum, located in downtown Davenport, is a prominent art institution with a rich history dating back to 1925. The museum features an impressive collection of European, American, and Spanish Viceregal art, as well as works by regional artists like Grant Wood. Housed in a modern glass building designed by architect David Chipperfield, the museum offers educational programs, lectures, and events to engage the local community with the arts.
The Figge finally added glowing lights to the establishment. I go to the Figge often, usually on Saturdays; every second Saturday the Figge always host special events, for the festivities and to interact with art professionals. This enhances my passion for art and helps me connect with my local community. Just this past Saturday, they hosted an event for the community to witness the long-awaited glow.

It was free when I went. Lots of stuff to see and do! I loved that it allowed you to explore your own artistic side through fun activities. I also appreciated the art in this museum. It was not just modern art which I personally find boring, but the exhibit golden age with its descriptions really made me understand and appreciate the art. I thought it was fun and loved the cats and show exhibit. I think that was a cool way to incorporate today’s culture and make art more interesting! Also loved the gift shop very reasonable prices!

A visit to the Figge Art Museum is always a pleasure, but Thursday nights are an especially wonderful experience. Strolling through the beautiful galleries is even better knowing that delicious food and drinks await at the Figge Bar. The new Thursday evening menu offers high-quality, creative dishes that elevate the art-viewing experience into a complete night out. The tasteful setting and tasty bites are the perfect complement to the remarkable artwork. It's a fantastic tradition for art lovers and foodies alike.

I had almost decided to pass on one of the most inspiring experiences of my whole life. I loved this museum so much I had changed the itinerary of my trip by a whole day just to make sure I was able to really take it in...It covers so much in its exhibits yet it was not overwhelming. In addition, it has managed to remain so affordable and unpretentious, including the gift shop. I'm a student who has visited my fair share of museums and so many are simply not considering the average consumer (at 30-40$ per person). Its staff/volunteers are truly wonderful also. When I have more funds, I will be sure to donate to this museum.

Glad I visited! I spent 1-2 hours here. Excellent layout and variety of art!

This is a wonderful small town museum with a varied collection stretching from European masters to Haitian multimedia. The Ansel Adams collection and the Grant Wood exhibits are not to be missed. Wonderful location on the shore of the Mississippi and there is a nice coffee bar and terrace. Overall a star and we give it four clams ( five stars on the millennial rating) on the coveted Five Quahog Rating Scale.

Nature & Parks
Parks
The Vander Veer Botanical Park is a vast sprawling park that was established in 1885. It boasts of a historic rose garden, seasonal greenhouse shows and a duck pond which provide visitors with an opportunity to take in the beauty of nature. The park offers several gardens, including a long pathway of trees for those who love to walk and enjoy the views. The friendly staff allows well-behaved dogs into the gardens while outdoor bathrooms are available for convenience.
A lovely park in the middle of the city! Lots of space to relax, walk, duck/goose-watch, fish, and enjoy nature! There's a great shaded corridor down the middle with a bunch of benches to get out of the sun and sit and relax. The small pond with the paved path around it is also very nice. Overall, it's a really nice green space in the city!
Adam L — Google review
How lovely to visit the conservatory and the copious outdoor rose gardens with fresh pearls of rainwater on each leaf. The visit was free, an hour well spent, though you could take a picnic blanket and enjoy a longer visit on the really wonderful green space that surrounds the gardens.
Tim P — Google review
Lovely little park with no entry fee, plenty of parking and lots of beautiful flowers! The rose gardens were beautiful and the hosts garden quiet, cool and peaceful. I enjoyed walking the grand alle and visiting the special display of tropical plants.
Kiersten D — Google review
I visited on a Monday, only to unfortunately find that their building is closed on Mondays. I still enjoyed their park-like outdoor setting. While there, I took a stroll around their pond. I saw a couple of signs indicating that they love their ducks. I think that may be a bit of an understatement!
R. 2 — Google review
Lovely day for a walk in the park. Park is well maintained with lots of walking areas to explore. The sundial is a beautiful work of art. Be sure to check it out near the fountain.
Nancy W — Google review
Great little botanical garden. The roses were lovely and I can imagine how amazing they are in full bloom (instead of mid-October).
Kim D — Google review
This park is great for taking photos for family's or even just taking a stroll through it especially March-October when the big fountain is going. Also if youre a pokemon Go enthusiast its definitely the place for many pokemon, spins and Gyms. Lastly dont forget to check out the garden and inside botanical garden. The only downside is its a one way road now so direct yourself the right way so you don't go the wrong way.
Zach H — Google review
In the winter Vandeveer Park has a very nice small display of Christmas lights all around the park. nice place to walk or drive around just after sunset. In the spring and summer and fall it’s a beautiful place just walk around. They also have a really nice indoor botanical garden. They also have a small pond, there’s a sign on the building that says fishing.

Farmers' market
Shopping
The Freight House Farmers Market, situated in downtown Davenport near the picturesque Mississippi Riverfront, is a vibrant hub for local produce and artisanal goods. Open on Saturdays, Sundays, and Tuesdays, this market showcases an array of fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, cheeses, baked goods, jams, honey, handmade soaps, crafts and more. It's a great spot to connect with local farmers and artisans while enjoying the lively atmosphere.
Today was a beautiful day for the Farmers Market inside and outside both. They will be open again tomorrow, and then next weekend is their last weekend for the season. There are a lot of vendors and live music on the patio. I got some items, and my tomatoes I hadn't gotten yet from anywhere else. Get over there tomorrow if you can, and if not, don't miss next weekend for their last weekend. That is their fall, weekend ending, the season.
LaJanice S — Google review
Freight House Farmers Market: The Perfect Summer Weekend Tradition One of my favorite things to do on a summer weekend morning is visit Freight House Farmers Market. There’s just something special about strolling through the aisles, taking in the sights and smells of fresh seasonal produce and incredible homemade items from local vendors. Beyond the amazing food and artisan goods, one of the biggest highlights for my family is the petting zoo—it’s always a huge hit with my kiddos! Getting to interact with the animals adds an extra layer of fun to an already lively and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re stopping by to grab fresh ingredients, explore unique handcrafted products, or just enjoy the energy of the market, Freight House Farmers Market is a must-visit spot that never disappoints!
Zana S — Google review
I am new to this area from Florida and I am so pleased with this farmers market. I went crazy buying things. Our markets down there are nothing like this here. So I'm glad to now live in this area and I'm glad that my son goes there quite often because I cannot wait to go back. This place is so awesome. Today is Sunday and my son said it's only half as busy as it is on Saturdays and it was just jam-packed and I just said I can't wait to go back
Penni L — Google review
This Market is a great place to shop local especially from Iowa farmers or even a pop up baker! The food trucks are a nice touch they do have outdoor vending and inside. I would say the summer months at there peak season can get pretty crazy since its only weekends. Overall the parking can get a little heavy with modern woodman being in the same area during baseball season but I do recommend checking it out.
Zach H — Google review
Nice selection of vendors! Great location & plenty of parking. Food trucks always smell delicious & music at the Freight House ( outdoors) set for a festive mood . All kinds of veggies, crafts and jewelry/ gift stands. I love dogs.. however, the last couple of times there, there were some Not so nice / barking and I feel a bit uncomfortable with so many there... It was a hot day & many were panting.. I guess I'm just worried that someone could get bitten / nipped and that could ruin this experience... I leave ours at home & he's just fine 🤷
Suzette F — Google review
Lovely farmer's market. Nice family experience. Plenty of excellent veggies, fruit, sausage, meat, crafts and live music.
J V — Google review
There are so many vendors with crafts, food and so much more. I think this year there were many more places to drink and eat which we live since we come in the morning and are there for several hours.
Mary J — Google review
This is best place for local amd fresh produce. Fair prices compared to any grocery store. Small business managed by the farmers themselves. I got good quality honey, vegetables. There's also a store where traditional natural and non toxic fragrances from Africa / India, lots of stone jewelry, natural home decor items, earthen items are sold. Its a happening place with kids families and elderly to get together. Several food trucks are available. A full store is for just flavoring items (food) is available. A must visit for residents in Quad cities. For kids there are several options for rides too. One can spend half a day easily. Observe the outdoor market working hours. Its seasonal.

Museums
Nestled in the heart of Davenport, the Putnam Museum and Science Center stands as a testament to the region's rich history and natural sciences. Established in 1867, this esteemed institution boasts an impressive collection of over 160,000 artifacts that span various cultures and epochs.
I started taking my grandsons to the Putnam this year cause I finally had them at the same time. They liven l loved it. So this year for their mothers 11 year anniversary of her passing we took the youngest one there. The pics above are from that day. The oldest grandson is now back in Texas so we had him on video chat to include him.

I haven't been to the Museum for awhile. It seemed like it was much the same, with little changed for most of it. So I was so happy to see all the changes that have taken place since I was last there. They now have most of the exhibits with information in both English & Spanish. I was also very happy to see the World Cultures exhibit, which is long overdue. I'm really looking forward to the remodeled exhibit spaces.

I wish there would’ve been a few people who could answer questions walking around, but other than that it was really great a lot of hands-on activities

The Museum is the best one I’ve been at so far. There are a lot of cool stuff inside and you can easily get lost looking around. The rooms are connected, a lot of historical figures. My personal favorite is the Safari with wildlife

Our local library got a quad cities fun card so we decided to come and visit the science center! There were so many interactive activities for kids. It wasn’t that busy either which was very nice. Plenty of parking as well. Nice gift shop available too. The junk boat was my favorite part! It’s worth checking out!
Trent — Google review
Amazing exhibits, clean and organized. In their 'collection' area, there aren't any plaques or names on anything and their look up station didn't work. No hand sanitizer anywhere, so bring your own
Hannah O — Google review
This is a great place to take the family. Theres lots of different exhibits, so there's always something for everyone. My kids are always most excited to see the Egyptian/mummy area. This past time we went was for a field trip and the staff went above and beyond to make the experience great for everyone there.
Melissa P — Google review
I love the Putnam Museum. I think it's the best science museum I've ever visited. I like how the different exhibits are separated from one another, almost like their own little museum. There's an infinity light mirror that I saw years ago and I've never forgotten. I recently visited again and it was still there! They also have wonderful movies in their Giant Screen theater and delicious popcorn. I recently saw a movie there about the monarch butterfly, and I learned that their over winter place in Mexico was only discovered by American scientists 50 years ago. I hope to see the one about Super Power Dogs. I highly recommend!

The German American Heritage Center & Museum in Davenport offers a unique opportunity to delve into the history of German immigrants who settled in the area during the 1800s. Housed in a historic hotel that once accommodated many German immigrants, the museum provides hands-on exhibits, an orientation theater, and education stations. It also features faithfully restored hotel rooms, offering visitors a glimpse into this significant period of Davenport's past.
I love this place! The museum shows some really interesting items. There is even rooms set up from when it was a hotel I believe. There are craft events three times a year upstairs. At Christmas, there is a bigger event with German music, food and crafters. The gift shop has very nice items you can purchase as well. At Halloween there are walking tours of places said to be haunted and sinister histories in downtown. It's a great way to spend an afternoon.

I am a member & the staff here are wonderful to work with. I highly recommend looking at their 4th floor if you need to rent a space for a meeting or an event, like a bridal or baby shower. They also have beautiful ornaments from Germany on sale. Their events, like the walking tours, are fun & very informative.

The establishment offers a cozy lounge and a full bar to complement its candlelit setting. The chef at Duck City Bistro skillfully combines bold and traditional flavors to create unique tastes exclusive to the area. The diverse menu includes seafood, steaks, and vegetarian options, ensuring there's something for every palate.
What an awesome place to dine. Upon arrival the chef gave our group a presentation of all the specials that were offered along with the menu items. We had a group of 10, & the service could not have been better. The food was absolutely delicious.
Tony D — Google review
I had an absolutely phenomenal experience at Duck City Bistro! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was total vibes, warm, inviting, and filled with great energy. It's the perfect place for a special night out. The chef was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain each feature of the menu, which was a nice personal touch. It was clear that they put a lot of thought and care into every dish. Our server was equally impressive, attentive, friendly, and very thorough in explaining the menu and wine pairings. As for the food...WOW! We started with a couple of appetizers, the crab cakes were perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, while the escargot was a decadent treat that we couldn't get enough of. Then came the Delmonico steak, absolutely insane. It was cooked to perfection, tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. And let's not forget the desserts, they were a sweet finish to an unforgettable meal. Every aspect of the experience at Duck City Bistro was top-notch. If you're looking for a place that delivers amazing food, impeccable service, and a vibe that makes you feel right at home, this is it. Highly recommend!

What an absolute gem of a restaurant. I stopped in on 2/25/2025 for a solo dinner. Was greeted by the chef who gave a rundown of all the dishes, which you could actually look at while he described each. I sat at the bar and had the pleasure of being waited on by Molly. She was exceptional. I had the escargot with bread as an appetizer and then had the Chef’s Combo of veal and duck. It was fantastic. I met a gentleman who had the Cajun ribeye which you can see pictured as well. Can’t wait to be back in Davenport. This place is on my must eat list anytime I’m in the area now.
Kimothy — Google review
Very nice restaurant with amazing food. The initial greeting at the door was interesting and welcoming. First visit and had to go with the duck. Have to say I was impressed. It was better than I had expected. The bread was delicious, the salad was as expected. We went with onion ring for an appetizer which unfortunately were more like onion straws. Service was great, without too much of a timely wait for food. Would absolutely recommend. Only trouble is which entree to go with next time. Side note... We did get the salted caramel cheesecake for dessert, but had to get it to go, so no review on that but I'm sure it will be amazing.

I love this place. The food, service and atmosphere are top notch! Parking is tough and you gotta catch them on select days and hours, but it's worth coordinating! The meat presentation is awesome; the owner ends it with; "Beef... it's what's for dinner!"

This restaurant is an amazing gem of a place. Perfectly located in the heart of the city. They have many options and the chef is ready to great customers as well. I was downtown Davenport, meeting some friends and decided on lunch here after Miss Phay's was closed. I'm gluten-free and, sadly, they don't have many GF options for lunch, only salads. But, and this is a big but, the salad I ordered was delicious! I got the Berry Power Salad and added Salmon. It came dressed with a berry vinaigrette and a big, beautiful serving of burrata. They forgot my salmon, but it came very quickly and I just ended up eating it separately. It was great! Greens were fresh and delicious and the blueberries and strawberries made the dish. My salmon was seared perfectly....they actually asked what temperature I wanted my salmon, bonus points! I got a cider to drink and enjoyed it completely. Our waitress did a good job, forgetting the Salmon aside. I'm including a photo of the amazing pork tenderloin sandwich that my friends got. They loved it! The inside of the restaurant was clean and lovely, even the bathrooms! I'm recommending this place with one caveat...if you're gluten-free, go for dinner not lunch. They have some dinner items I would have loved to try!
K C — Google review
I loved everything about my experience at Me & Billy! Here are a few highlights I’d love to shout out: 1) Pescatarian/vegetarian options. As a pescatarian, I usually find myself with 1 or 2 options on a menu at any restaurant. However, at Me & Billy, I had 5-6, not including dessert or customizations! I ended up going with a build-your-own portobello burger with all (and I do mean all) the vegetarian fixings, and it was AMAZING. I’ve never been so happy with a sandwich! 2) Y’all, the FISHBOWLS. We ordered one on special, and what a great combination economic/delectable choice. Crushed ice, rum or vodka, and strawberry puree. Perfect for a lazy Saturday! 3) The ambiance. Me & Billy is a beautifully decorated space with clean lines, natural lighting, and an old-world touch with the classic bar. Special attention was clearly paid to the comfort of guests with the spacious bathrooms (not just metal stalls!) and purse hooks under every table. 4) The staff. Everyone was so kind and attentive. The owner even came out to say hello! We will absolutely be coming back! Thank you to the servers, cooks, and all involved for making our time at Me & Billy so lovely!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A masterclass in Midwest hospitality! I stopped into Me & Billy hoping to grab a table for dinner, but with the symphony in town, they were packed. The female boss running the front was absolutely on it grace under pressure, keeping things moving, and making everyone feel seen. Her team was just as kind, letting me know when a spot opened up at the bar so I could wait comfortably for my takeout. It’s such a small gesture, but it says everything about their culture of care. When you’re traveling solo, it means the world to be treated with the same warmth and attention as a big party ordering bottles of wine before the show. Thank you for the reminder of the Midwest love I’ve been missing since moving away. 💛 Food: Kentucky hot brown side salad with the best homemade Ranch ever.

Fantastic place for lunch this week. Freshly made superb soups, salads & sandwichs. Plus more...I enjoyed a pork tenderloin with fries. Very flavorful & delicious. My daughter had the Billy Burger & it was great. Our server was attentive but not intrusive, friendly & accurate in taking our order. The atmosphere is upbeat & a break from any chaos in your life. A greeting from the owner Billy was a memorable moment!

Get the Darn Big Grilled Cheese. Trust. The New Fashioned Cheese Curds were some of the best I've had. Don't get me started on even the glazed carrots - I need more of those in my life. The cocktails were delicious - Pear Martini all day. And Jake - freaking amazing service.

I went to Me & Billy a few days ago with some friends and overall had a really good experience. I ordered the steak, while my friends got the salmon naan and a cheeseburger. Everyone enjoyed their food, the flavors were solid and portions were good. Our server was friendly and attentive, which made the meal even better. The atmosphere was fine, but it was very busy and loud during our visit. The only downside was the wait time, it took about 35–45 minutes for our food to come out, but I think back of house must’ve been slammed that night. Other than that, we were all happy with our meals and the service. I’d definitely go back

New American restaurant
The Half Nelson, located in downtown Davenport, Iowa, is a top-rated restaurant known for its classic American cuisine and convenient patio setting. The ambiance takes you back to the 1920s with its tiled floors and rich wood decor. Chef Phillip curates an elaborate menu featuring dishes like crab beignets, pistachio-crusted fish, steaks, and Korean fried cauliflower. The restaurant offers an extensive bourbon selection and handcrafted cocktails.
Where do I start with this place! The food is always incredible - Chef Connor puts his heart and soul into creating absolutely incredible dishes for the guests here. Seeing his creativity on a plate is a true treat!! Bren is always making up the best cocktails in the area also and is a hoot if you get to sit at the bar and get to know her! She is attentive, kind and checks in often. And lastly, Raven is so fun and sweet, always making our dining experience the absolute best. Her hospitality is top notch and truly, I wish every server was like her. Half Nelson - thank you for making meals memorable, having a beautiful atmosphere, hiring the best talent and giving us the best dining experience in town, consistently. The epitome of fine dining but in a relaxes atmosphere. The employees are all friendly, unique, and down to earth. Our server, Alexis, was professional and attentive without the slightest bit of stuffiness! Better still, the food is incredible. As good as anything from a Michelin rated kitchen, hands down. Make this a must of you anywhere in the area! My husband had a 32 Hour Braised Short Rib while I had their house made Goat Cheese Agnolotti.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars – A Must-Visit Gem in Davenport! The Half Nelson is hands-down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in the Quad Cities. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between modern and cozy. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food and drinks they serve. Speaking of the food—absolutely phenomenal. Every dish we tried was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the crab-topped deviled eggs were a creative, delicious surprise. Their cocktail menu is top-notch too—crafted, not just poured. Whether you’re planning a date night, meeting with friends, or just treating yourself, The Half Nelson delivers a memorable experience every time. Can’t wait to go back!

Unexpected greatness. The Chef played to all the senses. Visually pleasing. Great balance of textures and flavors. Price was on the low side for what you are getting. I feel like I’ve been under a rock for the last 6 years! This place is captivating. The wow factor when you walk through the doors! No part of this experience disappoints. From the service, food and drinks, down to the small details of the record player broadcasting over the whole restaurant. Matt, keep going! Thank you!

This place left me truly giddy. My husband insisted we get the garlic salad, it was the best salad I ever had. Even if you are not a salad person, it is way better than any fried appetizer on the menu. For my entree I got the mushroom ricotta whatever pasta that was on the menu, It was Incredible, I never eat Italian, but this was amazing. My husband got the short rib and it was so rich, flavorful, and delicious. Now the true star of the evening, the brown butter cheesecake. Not only was it the best cheesecake I’ve ever had, it was the best dessert I’ve ever had. If I thought the garlic salad was 10/10 this was 1000/10. They need to keep this on the menu 24/7 year round. Do not skip the garlic salad and brown butter cheesecake. If you think duck city is good compared to this, sorry but you have no taste.

We routinely travel to the Quad Cities to enjoy their wonderful bike trails. Naturally we end the ride with a nice dinner. This spot never disappoints. Solid cocktails, had a Sazerac that was made very well. Duck breast was juicy and cripsy on the skin! Iberian pork collar stole the show! Like fried pork belly but better served atop mushroom risotto. Personally believe this is the best restaurant in the Quad Cities. Keep up the good work!

Immerse yourself in the ultimate farm experience at Machine Shed Restaurant Davenport. This easygoing, family-friendly eatery offers a warm welcome with its farm-themed decor and dedication to serving farm-to-table meals. Established in 1978, this restaurant pays homage to American farmers and serves up traditional American dishes with generous portions. The rustic vibe adds to the charm as you indulge in favorites like pancakes, waffles, sandwiches, and salads.
The Machine Shed was highly recommended to us by a friend who lives in the area. It was delicious! Very filling! And our server was so friendly! And we loved all the support for the local farmers they showed! We'll definitely be coming back here again when we're in the Quad City area!

I love this place. I am sure it is haunted by the locals, but today in the early morning, it was rather empty. We both had the country breakfast, I the chicken and my son the pork. There is a lot of food…and I liked the chicken, but the pancake was the best part of the breakfast! Yummy! But in addition, the country store is stacked with lots of things you want to unload your money for. Out waitress was fabulous and informative.

This is my first visit to this Machine Shed having been to others in Illinois and Wisconsin. I learnt that this is the first and oldest location. As usual the food was excellent. Big portion sizes and full of flavor. I really enjoy the Machine Shed, but my only complaint today was that our main was brought out and we hadn’t finished our soup. This happens in too many restaurants nowadays

After visiting Brooklyn Iowa we had to eat at The Machine Shed. I think the last time I was there was 2007. Anyway we were seated right away and they served Cole slaw and cottage cheese right away. My Fella had a small cup of the potato soup and I’m dying to get the recipe!mit is so delicious, creamy and almost “velvety” in my mouth. 10 stars.. He got the mile high meatloaf and I got the pot roast. I was pleasantly surprised to get cinnamon butter on the side for my sweet potato. Perfect accompaniment.

Easy choice for a casual sit-down lunch. I tried the lunch combo half sandwich and a cup of soup. The soup of the day was the beef noodle. I ordered half of a club sandwich. It looked like they also had a soup/salad bar. My server did a nice job and kept things quick. Even comes with a gift shop to browse on your way out. Great option for those looking to boycott Cracker Barrel.

“Dedicated to the American Farmer.” That is The Machine Shed’s creed. Today (August 1st 2025) my wife and I stopped in for lunch, and I’m glad we did. It was our first visit so we weren’t sure what to expect. I now know you can expect: friendly service, reasonable prices, and good food. When you walk in the front door it is a little confusing. There is a gift shop, and the restaurant is past the gift shop; but the hostess stand is in the gift shop. You also pay your dinning bill at the gift shop counter. The gift shop got very congested, but it was not a big deal and won’t impact my rating. We started with a cup of French Onion Soup. It was very good, they top it with some thin french fried onions which was a nice twist. It has been awhile since I’ve been in Iowa and I was craving a breaded pork tenderloin sandwich. The sandwich was good but not up to Iowa standards. I’m accustomed to a breaded pork tenderloin that is pounded nice and thin and is way bigger than the bun. This was not pounded thin. It was a thick cut of meat. But, I repeat it was good. My fries were delicious. My wife had the Classic Burger and it was excellent. She said her sweet potato fries were good (I did not try them). Service is friendly, and prices are reasonable. One word of caution: If you are on a road-trip and hoping for a quick stop (as we were) be warned it won’t be quick. Everything is made from scratch, which is great, but it definitely takes longer. If you are in Davenport and looking for good food at reasonable prices you might want to stop by The Machine Shed.

What a Place to Visit and Dine! We stopped here on recommendation of local friends. As we walked through the gift shop to our table, I knew I would be shopping after we ate. The items were much nicer than Cracker Barrel junk. The items on the menu looked tasty! I had to order the bacon Bloody Mary, which was tasted great! Extra lime and olives for me! I ordered the Alehouse Turkey sandwich on the recommendation of the waitress and my partner ordered the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. The dish with his “snack” came quickly - fresh homemade bread, butter, cole slaw, coffee cake and stewed apples that were the bet apples I have ever had! I couldn’t stop eating them! The sandwich was sooo good and I could only eat half, I had them wrap the other half in cellophane and ate it on the plane! My partner couldn’t believe how big the slice of meatload was – at least 2 inches thick, topped with mashed potatoes and gravy and onion strings. He’s a big eater and couldn’t come close to finishing. The rhubarb crisp was amazing too – my first time eating rhubarb anything. They had lots of John Deere merchandise, as JD HQ is in Davenport, so my grandson got a bunch of swag. And if you eat here, definitely get a cinnamon roll or two to go – it was my breakfast the next day. The manager, Dave was very friendly and was happy that I was going to leave a good review on social media. Believe me, The Machine Shed is a place you need to go when you’re by any of there 5? locations. You wont be sorry!

Trendy decor and vibe. Lots of tables, but still recommend making a reservation. I was pleasantly surprised with the lobster roll. Lettuce wraps and Kimchi fries were pretty tasty apps. The paella was too heavy on the tomato sauce and didn’t have a lot of the seafood listed in the ingredients. Food came out really quick. Our server was excellent - super friendly and came by to check on us frequently.

Went here back in March. The restaurant was gorgeous and the staff were very kind, but the food needs some work. The chicken lettuce wraps were by far the best thing we had, I would recommend those to anybody who goes here. On the other hand, the beef carpaccio was incredibly bland. It needed some type of acid, because the arugula was just tossed in oil and the bread was also oily. It needed something like lemon juice or capers or even balsamic, just something to add another layer of depth. As for the entrees, the beef ragu was incredible and the pappardelle was definitely homemade, but the chicken saltimbocca was bland and the portion was tiny. We could also tell the pasta was not homemade, despite the staff telling us otherwise. I like this restaurant, and I would give it another try, but I think they need to refine the menu so that there are more standouts and less misses.

Very nice restaurant with a classy feel and great food!! Staff is very friendly and helpful. The menu isn’t large, but they do everything well and there’s a wide variety of options. The atmosphere is modern and bright with an elegant flare and great attention to detail! I would highly recommend their burgers for flavor and the fact that they come with loads of shoestring fries that are always hot and crisp to perfection! And their cheesecake was hands down the best cheesecake I’ve ever had! Not as sweet as some, but rather, just right; but as rich as a millionaire and as smooth as velvet with a scrumptious caramel sauce drizzled over top of it! It would be worth coming just for that, but of course everything else is excellent too!

Everything about this place was really amazing. The restaurant was really cool and felt very contemporary. Open kitchen concept is one that is always so cool to me. The food was also incredible. My wife is celiac and we love shishito peppers and she usually can't have them. She got a burger and fries, also something not commonly gluten free and I got the poke bowl. All the food tasted incredible, my only complaint would be with the poke bowl in that it had too much ginger. I understand from a presentation perspective. But it was a lot. The service was impeccable. Friendly. Prompt. And already had the celiacs noted. They even went as far as checking on the drinks. We are a few hours from this restaurant and would consider going back because it was that good.

I normally don’t leave reviews but the level of disappointment at our last visit is bothering me. It feels like they are buying low quality ingredients but charging $$$$-especially for the QC. This is Chicago prices without the quality. Their menu lists the burrata app as having “heirloom tomatoes” but what we received was just standard deli sliced tomatoes with zero taste. The pasta dish had 6 noodles total, we counted. The Caviar dish barely had caviar. Our server Zach was amazing and accommodated us moving after being sat in the direct sun with no shade even though there were 12+ tables in the shade open. They lowered the shade about an hour later when the patio was starting to fill up but I feel staff could have anticipated this better. If it’s a blazing hot sunny day, just lower the shades ahead of time so guests are walking into a comfortable space and every table becomes a good table. It felt like because we came early, 4pm, we were getting the snicklefritz.

Our first time at Monarch around 530 pm and didn't disappoint. We sat inside because we were worried about bugs but the outside seating looked inviting. We were sat where we wanted after initially trying a booth. The bread service with salted butter was very good. It did cost though. We split a broccoli and Gouda cheese soup which was delicious. My wife got the Salmon and the bolonese spaghetti with Serrano peppers was awesome. The service was top notch never having to wait long. And they serve Boulevard Tank 7.

This is becoming one of my favorite places. Great atmosphere. It's not a huge menu, which is nice, allowing them to focus on the quality of the dishes they do have. Prices are some of the best I've seen in the area of drinks and food. The presentation was perfectly executed, and the portions were huge. I had the Blt paired with a side salad, a side of fries, and we added bread service. Excellent from start to finish.

Monarch is our go to dinner place when we are in Davenport. Excellent service, amazingly tasty food, great atmosphere. Menu changes seasonally and there is always a variety of dishes to choose from . (I don't know what happened to my pictures) very nice wine selection. Make reservations.
