Nature & Parks
Parks
The Vander Veer Botanical Park is a vast sprawling park that was established in 1885. It boasts of a historic rose garden, seasonal greenhouse shows and a duck pond which provide visitors with an opportunity to take in the beauty of nature. The park offers several gardens, including a long pathway of trees for those who love to walk and enjoy the views. The friendly staff allows well-behaved dogs into the gardens while outdoor bathrooms are available for convenience.
A lovely park in the middle of the city! Lots of space to relax, walk, duck/goose-watch, fish, and enjoy nature! There's a great shaded corridor down the middle with a bunch of benches to get out of the sun and sit and relax. The small pond with the paved path around it is also very nice. Overall, it's a really nice green space in the city!
Adam L — Google review
How lovely to visit the conservatory and the copious outdoor rose gardens with fresh pearls of rainwater on each leaf. The visit was free, an hour well spent, though you could take a picnic blanket and enjoy a longer visit on the really wonderful green space that surrounds the gardens.
Tim P — Google review
Lovely little park with no entry fee, plenty of parking and lots of beautiful flowers! The rose gardens were beautiful and the hosts garden quiet, cool and peaceful. I enjoyed walking the grand alle and visiting the special display of tropical plants.
Kiersten D — Google review
I visited on a Monday, only to unfortunately find that their building is closed on Mondays. I still enjoyed their park-like outdoor setting. While there, I took a stroll around their pond. I saw a couple of signs indicating that they love their ducks. I think that may be a bit of an understatement!
R. 2 — Google review
Lovely day for a walk in the park. Park is well maintained with lots of walking areas to explore. The sundial is a beautiful work of art. Be sure to check it out near the fountain.
Nancy W — Google review
What a Gem for families & Runners Such a Beautiful Garden of flowers with a very well-cared-for conservatory + a decent-sized park/walking path with the view of the pond.
Ima. — Google review
Great little botanical garden. The roses were lovely and I can imagine how amazing they are in full bloom (instead of mid-October).
Kim D — Google review
🌿 A Hidden Gem in Davenport – A Year-Round Favorite! 🌿 Vander Veer Botanical Park is truly one of my favorite places to visit, no matter the season. What makes it especially wonderful is the indoor conservatory, which stays open even during the harsh Iowa winters—giving you a beautiful escape into nature when everything outside is frozen! My family and I visit this park often. The kids love the playground and open grassy fields, and there’s plenty of space to run around or enjoy a picnic. In the summer, the gardens bloom beautifully—especially the Rose Garden, which is simply stunning and peaceful. It’s a dog-friendly park too, which means our furry family members get to join in on the fun. There’s also a charming pond with ducks, and we love spending time just watching them or taking a relaxing walk around it. Whether you’re looking for a quiet walk, family fun, or a peaceful moment in nature, Vander Veer Botanical Garden has it all. Highly recommended for locals and visitors alike! 🌷🌼🐾🦆

Nature & Parks
Credit Island, located in the Mississippi River to the southwest of Davenport, is a historic site with a 420-acre community park offering various recreational activities. The island features facilities for fishing, biking, bird watching, and sports such as golf, rugby, soccer, and softball. Visitors can explore the area by cycling along the Mississippi River Bike Trail and admire the Art in the Park installation depicting Seurat's famous painting.
Great scenic bike ride around the island and easy to access the Dubuque Farmers market. Very scenic and shaded which is nice
The M — Google review
Was a good park growing up throughout the 80-90’s. Use to be very busy. Now it’s a wasteland. Homeless encampments in the woods. Illegal activities everywhere. Sadly the city has neglected for to many years. The tank is still there but the rest of the park is trashed. The view of the river is the only good thing left.
Shawn B — Google review
Sure has changed since thee first time we stopped here. The city is cleaning it all up and making it more picnic friendly. There is a tank the kids would love to check out.
Jenny V — Google review
I do wish they would clear the path so you could walk through. It was covered by brush and trees. It would just be nice if they would have someone clear it
Karen M — Google review
Cool spot to catch fish from the shore. I worry there's still some shady stuff going on. It use to be a meet up spot. Feels like lots of parked cars for no reason.
Lee M — Google review
I walked the trail just off the parking lot by the pedestrian bridge. The trail started off nice. It got a bit bumpy but it was no big deal (I'm middle-aged and fat and prone to ankle sprains so I just took it slow). Then I encountered a fallen tree. I didn't really want to go backwards over the bumpy part again so I decided to go on. The tree didn't seem so bad to go over, so I went over it (I am also short, so this was not super easy for me). Unfortunately, that was not the last fallen tree I'd encounter. After the first two or three I became legitimately scared I'd be trapped between all the fallen trees. Some were pretty precarious. I wish they'd had a sign or something warning of the fallen trees blocking the trail. So I would like to warn people this is not exactly a cake walk. I'm sure there are people who love this kind of trail, but if you are fat, short, middle-aged, and prone to ankle sprains, stick to the bridge and paved areas, and avoid the trail.
Amy C — Google review
Such an amazing place to visit
Pamela C — Google review
This is a nice park in the quad cities to relax in. Nice calm water off of the main channel to kayak, fish and I see a lot of very serious bike riders here now that the new bridge is up, high visibility spandex and all so you know they are passionate about their hobby. Credit island was the scene of one of the western most battles in the war of 1812, and I am no history professor but it appears the French and Indians lost judging by the US army tank prominently displayed. They have a nice lodge that is designed to handle flooding, a golf course and lots of places to have a nice bbq and grill the carp you just caught off the scenic banks. Also Will Farrell once happily drank a beer here.

Nature & Parks
West Lake Park is a sprawling 620-acre park located in Davenport, IA. It offers a wide range of activities for the whole family, including fishing, swimming, boating, and camping. The park features four lakes where visitors can enjoy various water activities such as boating and kayaking. Additionally, there are playgrounds and picnic facilities available for those looking to have a relaxing day out. The park also offers cabin accommodations with scenic views and plenty of recreational opportunities.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Love fishing at West Lake Park! Beautiful scenery, clean shoreline, and plenty of great spots to cast a line. The lake is well-stocked, and it’s peaceful whether you’re out early morning or catching the sunset. Great place to bring the family or just relax and enjoy nature. One of my favorite local fishing spots!
Secondhand S — Google review
We love the new trails that are built for biking or hiking ! We also enjoy the new camp ground updates too! We wish the campgrounds did not have reserve on everything, but they do and it’s super hard now to get in for camping. It’s best to go and set up and pay for an extra couple days before you actually go. Lakes you can go to the beach and do rentals of paddle boats, fish and it’s a good little get away from the city. Great hosts and explorers and the camp host this year in the summit was absolutely amazing and so good! Hope he comes back next year! From our drone!
Pixgeek P — Google review
Campground was full due to river flooding in the area. Had to change the schedule. Otherwise, the lakes are beautiful near the campground. The sites are little tight and neighbors are a little too caring.
QL Q — Google review
The cabins are always a nice and quiet place to stay with a good view and lots to do. You can conveniently get some firewood ($6 or $7)from the office when you check in, and fire starters($4). The pedal boats were fun and Isaiah from the boat house was very nice and helpful with getting us started on the pedal boats. Reasonably priced at $10 for 30 min, $15 for 1 hour. They also have kayaks but we did not have time for that. The obstacle course on the beach is very fun for the kids and we liked that they have one for smaller kids and one for bigger kids(even 6ft tall teenagers!). Everyone wears a life jacket on there, even teenagers. For the smaller kids when they walk through the height thing they recommended if you are about half way between the blue arrows or lower that you stay on the little kid one and anyone above that can do the bigger one. The sand has a ton of rocks and is not at all comfortable to walk on like normal beach sand. There is a nice picnic area so you can bring your own food or they have concessions. Admission is only $5 for kids and $6 for adults Those things might be on the FAQ on the website if they have one, IDK. But for the most part everyone there assumes you have been there before and they don't really inform you on how it works so hopefully this helps. They have playgrounds throughout the park and some pavilions that you can rent, the one closest to the beach has its own playground, restrooms, fireplace, and grills. They added a sidewalk around the lake by the cabins which makes it much easier to enjoy a relaxing stroll around the lake. There is also a disc golf course which I cannot speak to if it is good or bad because I do not play but it is there.
Carolynn M — Google review
Very clean and beautiful park. There are plenty of camping spaces. Enough restrooms too, some with showers. You will need to pay to reserve a shade though. The children’s playgrounds are the best in here!
Mahmudul S — Google review
Camping sites are pretty tight. Be ready to get to know your neighbors as they are right in your back yard. Full hooks ups are nice however, that means their sewer is in your front yard.
Marie H — Google review
Nice place to kayak, walk trails, fish and camp. The main lake is overall too shallow for motor boats. I have seen people with their motor boats on that lake but I would beware
Lee M — Google review
Fishing is not the same since they drained the lake nothing but little fish was still a fun day with the granddaughter catching her first fish

Black Hawk State Historic Site is a 208-acre rolling tract and nature preserve that holds significant historical and cultural importance. It was once home to a band of Sauk people and served as the birthplace of Black Hawk, a prominent figure in American history. Visitors can explore the trails, picnic areas, and riverbank while enjoying the picturesque surroundings. Additionally, downtown Rock Island offers a charming experience with historic architecture, murals, restaurants, craft breweries, live concerts, and art galleries.
Nice park with a decent hiking trail and small museum. Based on the spider webs, the trail was not heavily used and you could tell there was some erosin issues along the river
Mark T — Google review
Black Hawk State Historic Site (Rock Island, IL) This land breathes with memory. Beneath the canopy of oak and along the trails, history lives alongside nature. The Black Hawk site is more than a park — it is a story carved into the earth itself. Walking here is not only wandering but listening: to the silence between trees, to the unseen footsteps of those who came before. For the Lone Wolf, this is sacred ground. Here, independence transforms into humility, for Mother Nature reminds us that the land endures longer than any blade of grass or human hand.
{BLUT A — Google review
Cool park and historic site along the Rock River. I only had a short time to visit so I hiked the trail nearest the river which featured cool rock formations and some nice views of the river. Unfortunately, I visited on a Monday and the museum is closed on Mondays, but I did explore outside the museum, which included a nice statue of Chief Black Hawk.
Jeremy D — Google review
Lots of well maintained walk paths with picnic tables dotted along these paths. Good playground for children. They also have a great venue location with great friendly staff for weddings or any other occasion. Plenty of parking in multiple different places. You could easily spend the day on a walking adventure here. Me and my wife visit often. It has become one of our "romantic" get away places.
Timothy B — Google review
We walked across the sky bridge... played at every park area... ventured to the trails and it was outstanding. They have trails attached to more trails a person could get lost. They do have a map at the entrance... take a picture of it...I may or may not have gotten lost! It was bliss!
Suzanne S — Google review
I really like this park. It covers a large area, there's easy walking paths as well as more challenging trails along the river bluff. The museum is next on my list. The playground is small, but decent. Very nice trees. There's a shelter with fireplaces and picnic benches, and benches along the river below the shelter. Multiple parking lots for accessibility. An overpass pedestrian bridge. The history here is palpable if you pay attention to that kind of thing, and you should.
Stick M — Google review
Great place for a wedding! Great price. And Rhonda was amazing to work with! She helped me save the day with my wedding and had a list of vendors for me once I picked to go with her. She was great at communication and had great items for rent to use for your wedding. Thank you again Rhonda!
Celeste P — Google review
Beautiful park with a playground and trails. We stopped by the little prairie next to the lodge for some family photos and then took a walk over the bridge and watched the cars go by. Our little guy thought this bridge was the coolest ever!

I like to go to River parking lots to take in the views. Sometimes I fish and meet with friends at the river front all along Moline ole Mark up to East Moline the Bend. I sometime play music on river front near bathrooms on occasions too. I love river Drive and all the parking to enjoy the river at all locations.

Talk about a VERY long Mississippi River park. Not exactly sure how many miles long this parkway is, but it feels like a Timex park ... it just keeps on going. Perfect for sitting and enjoying the river, playing frisbee in the grass, tossing a ball to your very well trained, non-biting dog or telling the kids to run and don't stop until they are tired (Highly recommend that run not be in one direction, unless you're running, too). We were visiting the Farmers Market and simply enjoying the rare and beautiful 70° November Sunday afternoon.

I enjoyed the beautiful views. There were happy children playing on the playground equipment. It was very peaceful.
Pam V — Google review
I like this park very much. There are always a lot of beautiful flowers and plants to see. There is a nice playground and bathrooms are provided. Also, picnic area and grill.
Lawrence N — Google review
I remember going here when I was young with the playset that was about 15 feet tall and had a giant tube in the center with a ladder in the middle. It kind of smelled like pee, that was not very cool, but the playset otherwise was pretty awesome. The park is clean, with restrooms, and a fantastic view.

The kids and I enjoy this park pert near every single day!! Sometimes twice a day. The grounds are generally well-kept. The sunsets are absolutely gorgeous and seem to last forever. The gardens and paths throughout this, larger than you'd think, park are pretty peaceful and provide a lot of nature to soak in. The "living" calendar, is updated daily, which is a pretty unique touch and definitely something you won't see most anywhere else in the area!!

Longiew Park is wonderful.. at sunset it was busy with energetic young Rock Island families, moving around on the playground. Pet owners were walking the hilly paths with their dogs. A polite group of Teenagers were gathered around their parked cars. And a few older parents sat watching the younger ones. The park grounds were well managed with clusters of naturalistic grass, mixed with squirrels, groomed grass and trimed trees. I could see the rest rooms appeared to be safe and open, but I did not go in. I think, Longview park is at its seasonal peak for maximum experience. Then I searched for that one location, at this golden moment for the greatest long view. I found it.. I could easily see Iowa, Illinois and the Centennial Bridge over the Mississippi River. Centennial Bridge popped as it reflected the sun in this dry evening air. The grestest long view location will change with each sunset. But if you have the time to search for it. You may be rewarded with a present tense moment that is better than looking at a cell phone. I did not take a picture of my greatest long view. Because, I did not want this memory in my phone. I wanted in my mind. Well Done park department for Longview park.
Ron M — Google review
Really nice park! Besides the disc golf course being a little messed up, it's extremely hard to find the markers on where to start for each hole. Some of the holes are oddly close to each other but that's probably because I can't find where to start! 😅

I think the island is pretty, but a little small. The only thing holding this back is that there are only a few trails to walk, and none of them are especially long. It would be a good spot for a lunch picnic or some fishing in either the pond or the Mississippi.
Henry Y — Google review
I am taking the 52 Hike Challenge, to get a weekly hike in over the course of a year. So, I decided to check out the trails here for this hike. I had my son, three year old granddaughter, and dog with me. The trail starts out looking like it will be an enjoyable trek, but eventually turns into a nightmare of thick growth and deadfall. The trail was just too poorly maintained to properly enjoy. Still, once we made it to the river, the birds and the view were lovely. By the end, our clothes were covered in pickers, so we spent a good fifteen minutes being aggravated, trying to removing them all. Overall, it was a challenge. If I would hear that they’ve cleaned it up, I would definitely return, but not until then.
Jennifer T — Google review
There are so many different things you can do here. If you have the right stuff you could spend an entire day here. Start with some disc golf, then take a nice hike and if you need to cool down and really do some relaxing this is a great spot for kayaking. It's a perfect place for a nice picnic and if you like to fish you can do that too. Good clean fun!

Nestled in Davenport, Iowa, Schuetzen Park is a charming 24-acre historic site that invites visitors to explore its natural beauty. Open to the public during daylight hours, this privately owned park features an intriguing Egyptian Revival style streetcar pavilion dating back to 1911—its only remaining original structure. With a network of trails offering varied terrain and peaceful surroundings, it's perfect for hiking or trail running. The park's lush greenery provides ample shade and creates a serene atmosphere for outdoor events.
It's a great place to enjoy nature. Fairly easy trails. They even have a very nice pavilion you can rent.

Its nice to get out into nature while still in the city as long as you don’t require a map. The map provided at the trailhead is useless. I’m a retired infantry soldier and BSA scout master. Land navigation isn’t foreign to me. It’s a small map with two loops but nothing on the map makes it’s use simple. If you needed to call emergency services you better hope that you get a great dispatcher because the map won’t help. BE PREPARED TO CROSS TREES AS LARGE AS TWO FEET IN DIAMETER LAYING ACROSS THE TRAILS.

A beautifully, privately owned park open to the public, Schuetzen has a lot of character with trails that have varied terrain, verticality, and tranquility. Really nice place to trail run with laps and some hill climbs.

Dog park
N. Marquette Dog Park is a popular spot in North Side, Davenport, where homes sell relatively quickly and at an average price of $277,695. The park offers separate areas for small and large dogs, with benches and picnic tables available. Despite some muddy spots, the park provides receptacles for waste disposal and even has trails in the surrounding wooded area. It's well-maintained and a favorite among locals for its spaciousness and tranquility.
Clean, decently sized, well maintained dog park. Tucked back into the neighborhood. Street parking. They do have some benches in the shade inside the park area, and a couple picnic tables on the outside of the fence. Small dog section is 30 pounds and under, large dog section is 31 pounds and up. It looks like there are also some trails in the wooded area around the park.
Andrew F — Google review
The entrance to the fenced-in dig park is on the south side, in the middle. You can choose the 30 pounds and under area for small dogs to the east or the larger dogs area on the west. (I didn't see a port-a-potty.) It's a city park named Robin Creek Dog Park. Friends of Off Road Cycling (FORC) has built trails all around (three sides) in the woods see photo with map. When it's drier, I'll try hiking them.
Michelle P — Google review
Nice clean large off leash dog park. One side for big dogs. One for small.
Jody-lynn J — Google review
You have to park on the street but... it's a really great dog park. Follow the sidewalk around to the entrance. Very big on both sides (small dogs/ big dogs). There's a few benches inside. There's picnic tables outside. It is a little wet and muddy but someone put straw over the worst part. You'll still need to wash your dog afterwards. There are receptacles in case you forgot to bring your own bags to clean up after your dog. This is a very nice dog park.
Barbara B — Google review
The dog park entrance is very deceiving. It's on the other side of the main entrance. All the other openings are locked up. That doesn't make sense. Then why put up gate entrances there if the public can't enter them? There aren't any trees in the dog park to make it more shady for the dogs. There's only one umbrella-shaded bench for people to sit at on each side of the park. It is clean well kept, I'll say that. But it was also just very dead. It's nice to have e for dogs who don't get along with other dogs that well.
Madison K — Google review
Love the concept but large gaps in the fencing.Worried about the small dogs getting through.

Along the way, visitors can explore attractions like Emeis Park and Golf Course. Whether strolling or biking, this picturesque parkway promises an enjoyable time amidst nature's beauty.
What a gem for a city to have. Totally worth a stroll, bike ride and the time spent relaxing on this scenic winding and lengthy parkway.

🌿 Duck Creek Parkway (Davenport, IA) This stretch of winding path through Davenport feels like a ribbon of nature cutting through the heart of the city. Here, trees lean in close, as if sharing secrets, while the creek runs steady with quiet persistence. Families bike past, joggers press forward, yet within the hum of human activity I find solitude. For the Lone Wolf, this parkway offers a reminder that even in the busiest of landscapes, Mother Nature makes space for contemplation, reflection, and freedom. ✨ Closing Reflection — The Lone Wolf’s Journey Across each destination — the flowing parkway, the still waters, the historic woods — I walk not as a tourist, but as a listener. The earth speaks, if you have ears to hear her. Mother Nature is not a backdrop; she is the constant companion of every independent wanderer. And so I move on, carrying the voices of creek, lake, and forest with me. — Volfsson, “The Lone Wolf"

I love to fish here. Lots of drum and channelcat fish in the area. Cool dog parks. Too much homeless presence in the area however.

So this is a combination review of the river view trail and parks from Veterans memorial to sculpture park, approximately 4 miles. Nice views of river but as with many metro areas, there is a vagrancey issue at multiple parts of the trail. Trash, graffiti and loitering were present at same. From a tourists perspective, this is not a destination area and I cut my visit short as a result of same. I had full bars of Verizon 4G LTE Roaming. All bathrooms were closed for the season. Parking was plentiful and large enough for any size rig or RV.
Will H — Google review
Open space along the riverfront with dog park, playground, biking trail, skatepark nearby, and walkway that takes you underneath the Centennial bridge. It’s usually pretty quiet and secluded down here. You can easily find a place to park and there’s shelters with tables for a picnic or similar informal gathering. This certainly isn’t one of the nicest parks in the city. I personally think they should plant more trees in the open areas and turn it into a riverfront forest. Maybe adding in a second playground would be interesting too. But then again, this whole area does flood pretty often, so I could see why not much is done down here unfortunately. Perhaps a flood wall instead?
Minespidur — Google review
A little run down but overall it was a nice park to stop at while traveling through the area. Restrooms are near the playground and are functional and fairly clean (typical park bathroom). But of trash around the park. Splash pad is nice with big kid and little kid areas. The playground is not suitable for toddlers unless you have an accomplished climber.
Dana M — Google review
Decent place to park to start a run up and down the Mississippi on the River Trail. Sometimes you can get hassled a little bit by people there if you park near to the bathrooms under the trees. For that reason I tend to park further out in the middle of the main lot.
Travis — Google review
It's a decent park. Lots of wide open spaces for kids to run around and for gatherings/picnics. It's got a great section of the river walk, a few pavilions, and a playground. The splash pad is also there. But, the park itself has no charm or character. There's barely ANY trees, which was very apparent on the hot, sunny summer day we visited.

Nahant Marsh Education Center, situated in southwest Davenport, spans over 305 acres and is part of a larger wetland complex encompassing 513 acres near the Mississippi River. This sanctuary offers an array of activities for nature enthusiasts. The bird blind provides an excellent vantage point to observe waterfowl, including Blue Herons, Great Egrets, Wood Ducks, Green Winged Teals, American Coots, Canada Geese and Mallards.
Visiting from out of town at sunrise with camera. Am always game to discover local critters especially marsh & wetland dwellers. Stayed a couple of hours. Only person on the trails. Pleased to find a bird hide, observation platforms and dock which gets you out from the shore. More pleased to find an American Mink & plenty of Eagles as well as all the regulars I’d expect to find. Will return with a macro lens when bugs are abundant.

Nahant Marsh has a wide variety of activities. The bird blind is a good place to see waterfowl. I have seen Blue Herons, Great Egrets, Wood Ducks, Green Winged teals, American Coots and other ducks. Of course you can see Canada Geese and Mallards. The hiking trails are easy. Depending on when you visit yo can see butterflies, dragon flies, grasshoppers and moths. There are also a wide variety of wild flowers. I have seen Bald Eagles and Osprey while walking by the dock. The Education Center has a nice variety of live animals to observe and the staff is friendly.

I go here often for a walk and jog. The bathrooms are generally clean. Not very crowded. One can hear the babbling of the stream which is relaxing. Lots of squirrels. Side note, i love squirrels. Still a nice park. Also, bald eagles! Pretty dope place. Update: Still adorable squirrels and still a nice park. One complaint, the bathrooms are closed in the winter, and the drinking fountains are turned off. They are both unlocked and turned back on in the spring, but i wish they would do this in early spring rather than late spring.

Baseball fields are ok. The layout of the park is terrible. Not enough parking. With 3 ball diamonds there is only 80 parking spaces. Not enough to accommodate parents, grandparents, coaches umpires and concession staff. Also, Children have to cross the parking lot to get to the play ground. The playground is terrible. The park itself is nice. The way people abuse it is something else. Apparently people think it's a dog park, but don't clean up after their dogs. Had a great picnic with the family. Went at 11 and wanted to leave by 1, which we did. An aggressive lady showed up with her family, around 1245pm, yelling at me and family to leave because she rented the pavilion. We weren't even at the pavilion with our picnic. But because there wasn't many places to park she said we needed to leave so the people who paid to be here can park. I thought this was a public park. I don't need to pay to come play with my children and pack a picnic. We didn't use any of the tables that were in the pavilion, but this lady didn't care. I asked why she was yelling at me and she just said "I'm not yelling and you don't know me"...while yelling.

Great little frisbee golf park. Only 6 holes, they're all shorter in length, but for practice they work great. Also they have grills, unlike Western, for grilling out after a couple rounds. Giving 4 put of five 5 stars because very very little parking, and there is play ground equipment close enough to the course that messed up throw could be flying towards children. All in all I'd go back.

This is a really great park. Lots of shade, a good size pavilion, basketball, court, baseball fields, and lots more! The playground is a little older, but it’s still in good shape and kids will enjoy it. The new ninja obstacle course is really cool, too - and kids as young as five can do a lot of the stuff in the obstacle course! It is definitely a park worth visiting!
Michael C — Google review
We held baseball practice. The infield was rough and had tufts of grass. The outfield wasn’t to far from a recently plowed field. Dugouts were adequate but really need some work.
Clay H — Google review
Very nice park that is close to home. It has basketball courts, tennis courts, a play area with slide and swings, baseball diamond, and a golf course. Plenty to do for the whole family. We found this very interesting tree and my husband wanted to climb up for a photo shoot. Lol
Delesia E — Google review
This park is lacking thing for smaller children. The play set is mostly climbing ropes for children 5-12. No swings or slides.
Corinne P — Google review
They started building a park 3 months ago and got 80% of the work done. you would think they would be finished by now. NO they stopped building the park and started on a different project leaving the park half way fixed. Now it’s the holidays and still no finished park. There are nothing for these kids to do outside so they now are playing in the unfinished park sliding down a a slide into a dirt pit…. 30days later no attempts to complete the new park… IM LOOKING OUT MY BACK YARD HOPING TO TAKE MY GRANDKIDS TO THE PARK BEFORE THEY LEAVE.
Bombay B — Google review
Was not expecting this park to be so big, well kept, clean and above all, so empty! And on a Saturday afternoon even! We walked by the large pavilion and the last time it was reserved was mid October of 2023...our family will most definitely be making good use of as much of it as we can! I'm inspired from my childhood and early adulthood to have plenty of picnics and get togethers.

Prospect Terrace Park is a delightful hidden gem that offers visitors stunning views of the mighty Mississippi River. Nestled in the charming McClellan Heights neighborhood, this park features a lovely grassy area perfect for leisurely strolls while taking in the picturesque scenery. With its scenic overlook and historic homes surrounding it, Prospect Terrace Park provides an ideal spot for picnics or simply relaxing on one of the benches.
My husband took me out to see a beautiful sunset. We live so close to this place, I can’t believe I had never been there before. The view was stunning. We spent an hour talking and sipping coffee, enjoying the warm and pleasant weather. I’ll never forget the joy it brought me. It’s such a beautiful spot—you can see both the Illinois and Iowa sides from the hill.

A nice overlook of the Mississippi River, with a few park benches and some beautiful historic homes behind it.

One of the best scenic look outs in the entire area. Awesome view, during all seasons. We picnic there often. It's a great place to enjoy a great view of the river valley.

The new playground is great! My kids loved the see-through tunnel slide! I wish there were benches closer to the playground, though.

A bit noisy, but the kids Loved it. Great equipment for toddlers or bigger kiddos. Perfect sized slides, a lot of crawl through nooks for pretending in.
Alicia D — Google review
Small play equipment unit for the kids which is a little close to a major intersection for my liking. Not much else to see or do. Really more of a field than a park.
Allison F — Google review
The playground here is ok. There are no bathrooms. Not really much parking. Kind of in a shady area of town. We actually had a drug addict come up to us and try to use our phone.

Its a nice place to go spend time and clear ur head or take the kids.

River Heritage Park offers stunning vistas of the Mississippi River and boasts a charming gazebo. Serving as the welcoming front porch for national cruise lines like Viking Cruise Lines, American Cruise Lines (ACL), and American Queen Voyages (AQV) when they dock in the Quad Cities, it provides an ideal vantage point to admire the river. With its picturesque views and convenient location, it's a great spot to enjoy the beauty of the area.

Nice riverside park. Walking or jogging paths that connect with the city.
Shel K — Google review
What can I say this place was great the scenery is amazing as you stand right up to the Great Mississippi River. Has a walking track to run ride bikes or just walk and enjoy. Would get 5* but there were a lot of bugs in the hut and in the stairs. Over this place was nice and relaxing
Doc O — Google review
The park has a lot of potential. Davenport would do well to improve this area. As for an out of towner checking out the mighty Mississippi was a big draw to come to Davenport. Unfortunately the park is a bit rundown doesn’t seem particularly well cared for. The city may want to consider unaddressed needs of the unhoused population as many were located in this park.
John S — Google review
It's not much of a park, really. Just a grassy area running along the river.
