The Kern County Museum is a captivating destination chronicling the rich history of Kern County through an array of artifacts and exhibits. Spanning 16 acres with 56 historical buildings, it offers a fascinating journey through Native American, frontier, and oil history.
The Kern County Museum is one of my absolute favorite spots to visit! It’s the perfect place to explore with family, offering a great mix of history, culture, and fun exhibits. The museum is beautifully laid out, with engaging displays that tell the story of the area’s history in such an interesting way. My favorite part of the museum is the neon courtyard. The historic signage from around town is simply beautiful, and it’s a unique and colorful way to experience a piece of the area's past. What I really love about the Kern County Museum is the variety of events they host throughout the year. Whether it’s a seasonal celebration or a special exhibit, there’s always something exciting going on that brings the community together. If you haven’t been yet, I highly recommend checking it out! It’s an enriching experience for both kids and adults alike.

This destination is an absolute hidden gem! I was blown away by the quality of the many exhibits that were on display. I would go as far as to say that the Kern County Museum is the best museum of this kind. Their recreations California history make you feel as if you have walked into a Time Machine. I was very surprised at how many reconstructions they had, as it took us almost 5 hours to see everything. We could have stayed longer too! If you are driving through the area on your way to the metropolitan centers to the north and to the south, I would HIGHLY recommend stopping by.

Great place though weathered. It’s huge with tons of old buildings to peer through the windows at and read small pieces of info. Not ADA compliant and lots of rough walking so don’t bring anyone not ready for a good hike in the sun with no rest spots. The “store” is behind the cashier at the entrance but you can’t go in. She has some water bottles but not guaranteed. Ask her to bring anything of interest to the window for viewing. Overheard one teen ask his parents, “Are we done? Can we go yet?” But they even have a train there! And so much more of historical relevance re how things worked. There’s an exhibit in an old dance hall that, if it’s open, shows the costumes of the singers and their instruments that entertained in the olden days. Anyway, I enjoyed it thoroughly and the lady collecting the money was pleasant though not knowledgeable about the history. There’s also a huge clock tower.

I came to experience the Bakersfield vibe, and the Kern County Museum delivered that and more. The Haggard house was well arranged. It was almost like being a neighbor. The whole experience was great, but the Bakersfield Sound building was like Hard Rock Cafe or R&R Hall of Fame, but pure country... loved it!

My in-laws were the 1st people married at the Church 59 years ago at the towns Centennial celebration for all to view! Brought our kids today to check it out. There were not any docent around at all. Beautiful grounds.

Very nice museum with lots of artifacts about history of Bakersfield. Looking through protected environment school, church living quarters, jail etc. has a play area for kids too.

This was our second visit to this amazing museum and we will be going back!!! My son took me here for Mother's Day and I got in free he only cost $10. There is so much too see we had to come back. This time an older man was giving tours of old vehicles, wagons etc. He was so friendly and knowledgeable we enjoyed learning so much about the history of transportation. This is a great place to visit before it gets too hot. Everything is pretty much outside so we're good walking shoes and take water. There were two exhibits that are still not open and we hope to catch next time.

Very impressive museum. Large acreage with relocated houses. Definitely a great field trip for history buffs, educators, homeschoolers...I would go early, as the weather gets toasty. Affordable price, @ $10. Beautiful grounds. Most exhibits have stairs. Well done signage, but some are a bit weather beaten and unreadable. You need at least 60 to 90 minutes here.

Theaters
The Historic Bakersfield Fox Theater is a significant landmark in downtown Bakersfield, offering nearly a century of entertainment. This ornate theater, which opened in 1930, has been meticulously restored and hosts a variety of performances ranging from pop music to film noir. The Spanish Colonial Revival style architecture with intricate detailing and an impressive marquee adds to the grandeur of the venue. It's a must-visit for those seeking cultural experiences in Bakersfield.
The Fox Theatre is a landmark that deserves praise. The shows here are magnificent, outstanding, and very entertaining. Killer Queen did an amazing job tributing to Queen. Bakersfield residents wake up and realize that Bakersfield has content, taste, and talent!!

This theater is beautiful but has limited parking so come early to get the closest parking near the entrance. The seats are comfortable and has amazing AC. The event itself was beautiful but the security kept repeating that photos and videos weren’t allowed and that got a bit annoying. But overall it’s an amazing experience with a beautiful place that dates back to the 1930’s so that’s cool. Note: The ballet company themselves didn’t allow photos or videos each event is different so depending on the event you are attending you’ll be able to have the choice to have your phone out if they say so or not.

Just saw Morrissey the other night. Great intimate and easy to navigate theater. The pit area is small, so it's not too crowded, which was perfect for me.

Went to our very first show here tonight, for The Rocky Horror Picture Show 50th anniversary screening, and it was INCREDIBLE!!! The Velevet Darkness was so awesome that we want to see everything they do! Heather was SO impressive!!!! Moving on that stage like she was born for it! Robin, Echo, and KYLE were KILLER!!!!! And Shay, who works for the actual Fox Theater MADE OUR NIGHT!! She went above and beyond to ensure we had the BEST experience and we WILL be back based on how fantastic she was! If I have another kid, they will be named Shay!! Seriously, if you plan to attend a show, go, and have the time of your life! ♡♡♡♡

The Historic Bakersfield Fox Theater, November 4, 2024 "Inclusion Films" Presents it two Christmas movies & it's always free to the public. So I came to see the movies because my nephew works there at "Inclusion Films" & he's an editor & he's been there a very long time first through the schooling part & now working for Dale & Joey Talvota. Dale is so awesome with all of the students with different disabilities & his staff is also! Thank You so very much Joey Talvota for doing this & to The Historic Bakersfield Fox Theater for always hosting the "Inclusion Films" with much love & respect! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐'s & 💯%+ Great Job! 😎👍 P.S. Don't forget the 🍿 popcorn because it's one of the best around & plus a nice cold drink & a candy to go along with it!

We drove 3 hours for a Mariachi concert of Los Camperos de Chuy Guzman. The place is nice but the seats are kinda small and not very comfortable if you're a large person. But we enjoyed the show of Los Camperos. My wife and I have been enjoying their presentations whenever they're in our surroundings.

We just saw Brad Williams. He was great! However, I DO NOT like fox theater. I had to use the restroom and was rushed out. My group was waiting for me and they were pushed out. I wanted to get something to support Brad's family/show but was not allowed to. We were even going to wait pure turn but nope. And it was way to hot.
Shanks G — Google review
Great venue. Lots of history, and there are good reasons why. Starting with the external "Hotel California" vibe with the neon, white masonry and palm 🌴. Cool and somewhat decadent inside architectural features may have contributed to the fantastic sound. Sightlines are good and ticket prices are decent. Entry and exit were quick. Went to see Blackberry Smoke. Awesome show from the Smoke as always. Miles Miller opened. I'd go see that act again. I'd not hesitate to go see another show at the Fox.

The Bakersfield Museum of Art (BMoA) is a long-standing institution that showcases the artistic heritage of California, particularly highlighting the works of local artists. Established in 1956, this museum offers a diverse range of exhibits and educational programs for both adults and children. The outdoor Tejon Sculpture Garden adds an extra dimension to the museum experience with its captivating sculptures. BMoA also hosts community events such as Art After Dark, featuring live music and interactive projects.
A cultural gem! The Bakersfield Museum of Art is truly a treasure in our community! I love how they showcase such a unique and diverse collection of artists, offering something fresh and inspiring for every visitor. Whether you’re an art enthusiast or just looking to explore something new, there’s always something captivating on display. One of my favorite parts of the museum is their annual events, which always bring the community together in a meaningful way. The Art After Dark Pride event is a standout, and I look forward to it every year. It's such a vibrant celebration of art, culture, and inclusion – the energy is always so positive and welcoming! The museum’s commitment to fostering creativity and connection within the community is truly special. I highly recommend checking it out, whether it’s to experience the exhibitions or to participate in one of their incredible events.

This a cool little museum! The workers are kind and friendly, and it's awesome that they showcase small local artists. The yearly pass is a good deal to come and see all of the different exhibitions.

What a quality art museum! It was small but well organized and the art exhibits were beautiful. I took a tour with a school group and it was wonderful,, even the kids were interested!
Laura B — Google review
We enjoyed the 2nd Saturday art event. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is a small museum and very clean and beautiful. The neighborhood park next to the museum is pretty with ponds and a playground, but I did not feel safe there with the kids.
Jami K — Google review
The KHSD Visual Art Showcase is amazing every year. I'm so happy BMOA hosts this event for our incredibly talented high school artists. The artwork that is displayed year round from artists across the globe is amazing. Most people don't realize what a gem the BMOA is for our community. Please do yourself a favor and go to one of their events, take a class, or check out the current exhibits.

Zoo
Zoos & Aquariums
California Living Museum (CALM) is a unique institution that serves as a sanctuary for local wildlife, offering visitors the chance to observe native animals thriving in naturalistic habitats. It provides an opportunity for learning about conservation efforts and environmental education programs aimed at preserving California's biodiversity. CALM features native California animals and plants, historical artifacts, and fossils on display. Families can enjoy leisurely picnics while exploring the exhibits and collections.
This Living Museum is very similar to the Living Desert in Palm Springs. We love the open atmosphere. Parking is very well defined and there is alot of it. They have been expanding and moving the animals in better, improved enclosures. Many have their own box fans, water ponds, shade, wind breaks. They have a children's area for parties. There is a permanent scale train. They also have Christmas events. A reptile building. The tortoise exhibit is the best I've seen. The cougars and the bobcats were comfortable and easy to see.
Darryl D — Google review
Cute place with some extravagant plans for the future! It’s like a zoo in the Forest. It was quiet, not very many people and you could sit and listen to the water run, pretty relaxing. It was nice to see native animals.
Jamie B — Google review
Wished we’d visited sooner and will definitely be back. A nice selection of native California birds, animals and reptiles. The marine room on your way out is a great little find…sea jellies, a touch pool and seahorse. The map and paths were a bit confusing to navigate and we found ourselves doubling back a few times to find the right path we wanted, but will be back and be telling our friends to visit too!
Alex M — Google review
Great place to visit and learn about many species of animals. Very good reptile exhibits. And Monday was seniors day, half off!
Rick B — Google review
CALM is a wonderful place to spend the afternoon! They have special events all year and the holiday lights are one of the best.
Vi A — Google review
We love CALM! Seeing all the animals is always fun, you can tell they’re really well cared for. It’s a great half-day experience, we usually spend around 3 hours here. The lights at Christmas are a whole other incredible experience too! If you’re local, I recommend getting the membership pass that gets you into this, kern county museum, and buena vista museum. It’s so worth it!
Christina R — Google review
We LOVE the CALM center! One of my favorite places to take my toddler! We feel safe going and walking the trails throughout the zoo! It’s well maintained, staff is so kind, and it’s beautiful 🤩 Not usually busy and it’s definitely worth it to get the membership! On the weekends the train runs which is a blast!

The Holiday Lights at CALM is a magical outdoor walking experience that's perfect for the whole family! Live music venue
Buck Owens' Crystal Palace is a renowned live country music venue and restaurant located in Bakersfield, California. Named after the iconic country musician, Buck Owens, this establishment offers a vibrant atmosphere where visitors can enjoy live performances by both established and up-and-coming artists throughout the year. The venue also houses a museum showcasing Buck's own music memorabilia and pays homage to Kern County's influence on western music.
Been to Crystal Palace for a concert and previous event but never for New Years until now. It was worth all the hype and more!! Prime rib dinner was amazing, the servers who worked instead of party, were great!! The entertainment, while not huge names, got it going on they had the place on their feet! We had a blast, so much fun!! Highly recommend it whether for New Year's or a concert, or just for a night out, Go!!! You Won't be disappointed!! Especially if it sells, we don't know how much longer we'll have this Bakersfield staple around! Hopefully whoever buys it, will keep Buck Owens dream going, it would be a real shame to see it go!
Maggie R — Google review
Okay. This was a fantastic venue! This place has all the elements of greatness for sure! Buck Ownens was a great singer, and he left behind a great restaurant. This place is a stop off for all up and coming country singers. This is also the Place that Garth proposed to Trisha... [Garth alert]. Food was above and beyond expectations! They served the best baby back ribs of any I have ever had! Service was good, and the waitress was nice. Can't wait for a next time!
Rodney A — Google review
My husband initially mentioned Buck Owens Crystal Palace while we were dating, stating his intention to bring me to this location. We are now celebrating our wedding anniversary here. Although the food and music are superior, the service from “Sierra” was deficient and disappointing! We experienced a prolonged delay in receiving our beverages and an additional wait for her to take our order; it is worth noting that the next table received service first, despite our prior arrival. Sierra made an error with my order, neglected to place my husband's order, and exhibited an unfavorable demeanor when presenting the bill. We would have preferred a different server, our night would have been perfect!

☀️ Buck Owens' Crystal Palace Made it back to Bakersfield! The Crystal Palace is for sale, hopefully it will remain open, but there is a chance it will be closed for good soon. The idea for the Buck Owens Crystal Palace originated in the mid-1980s. Buck spent most of his early career performing in small, smoke-filled bars and honky-tonks around the country. He wanted a high-class place for country-western music to be performed. Buck also wanted a place where he could "be himself". There is a museum with numerous memorabilia throughout his career. Live music and great food. And of course the buck-mobile hanging behind the bar. Once made for Elvis, Buck used it in The Streets of Bakersfield video.
Jana W — Google review
A club atmosphere with dining and seating on many different levels to view the stage for many different music venues. Nice atmosphere and facilities and the dining area is clean and offers great service. The parking is protected by security guards on electric bikes who will follow you to your car, unless a show has emptied the building and everyone is leaving. The venue offers a gift shop and a museum of country music (Buck Owens of Hee Haw fame) the only negative would be the acoustics in the very back areas where the surrounding walls prevented clear music sounds reaching out ears properly 😔... Fortunately, a table was cleared and I was able to moved up to hear past the offending wall enclosure. 👍
Paul G — Google review
Enjoyed this venue very much. If you're a country music fan this place is for you! So much memorabilia all over the place. Great picture opportunities. There is not a bad seat in the house. The environment and crowd was great. Brought my teenagers to see Charlie Crockett and we all had a great time. Tickets are affordable. We did not eat as kitchen closed at 10. I would see a show here again!!
Tiffany M — Google review
Amazing place to dine at. First time me and my wife came here and it was definitely worth it. We got to see the famous Bakersfield sign, and also loved the museum part of the restaurant. The food was heavenly, i had a chicken fried steak sandwich, which was huge, and fries. Wife got a chicken fried steak meal, with baked potato, and loved it. Started off with some onion rings, which were divine. Ended the meal with chocolate cake, and oh boy, im glad i saved room for it. This place was really amazing, live music, cool bar has a Cadillac behind it, museum to wonder around and check out, made for a fun night. Definitely will be back here again soon.
Jeff A — Google review
Surprised to find this venue here. Love entertainment and good food and drinks. Loved the history and the displays of Buck's life along with local celebrities and more current country singers. Good size dance floor and live band playing older and some newer country music. Definitely worth a visit.

Cafe
24th Street Cafe is a beloved diner in Bakersfield, serving budget-friendly and hearty breakfasts since 1987. Originally known as Cys Coffee Shop in 1950, it has become a cherished establishment with generous servings and moderate prices. The cafe offers a fantastic breakfast menu, from Mexican favorites to poached trout. Despite its small size, the cafe is always bustling with eager customers who are attended to generously by the staff.
This place has delicious food. Famous chef Guy Fieri has been here on show Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives. Aka Triple D.

We stopped at 24th Street Cafe on our drive back from Las Vegas to San Francisco based on a Google recommendation. There’s limited seating inside, but there’s an air-conditioned terrace which is a real bonus. The classic diner look and feel delivers on that nostalgic charm, and it’s clear this spot has a devoted local following. The menu is extensive, with lots of the diner staples, but also a number of specials. Our food was delicious, well-prepared, and arrived quickly. Which is exactly what you need when you’re on the move. If you’re passing through Bakersfield, don’t miss this hidden gem. We’ll definitely make it a regular stop on our travels!
Bevan S — Google review
Crystal and her co-workers were great during our 7am visit on a Monday morning this summer. We liked the atmosphere inside but the neighborhood is slightly blighted. We did not order the pumpkin pancakes of Food Network game. We got grilled cornbread and ciabata French toast. Hot chocolate was good and our water glasses were refilled like 6 times. Decor is typical diner antique, which is fun for phone free conversation. Cornbread was dry but the mushroom and drizzled flavored it up nicely. Mashed potato has cheese in it which added some extra flavor there. French toast was as expected with fresh berries on top. A variety of patrons, seating options, and knowledge of food allergies added to this pleasant experience.

The pastrami sandwich has a slight smokey flavor, but not overpowering. Comes with an au jus! Garlic fries are amazing 🤩 Excellent item on the menu.

I recently visited 24th Street Café, a beloved local diner known for its comforting, scratch-made meals. The staff were welcoming and attentive, contributing to a pleasant dining atmosphere. If you’re in Bakersfield and craving classic American comfort food in a nostalgic setting, 24th Street Café is worth a visit. Just be prepared for potential crowds and parking challenges during busy hours. — Kemoshire | Honest reviews. If I visit it, I review it.

You haven't lived until you've experienced the breakfast at 24th Street Cafe in Bakersfield, CA!! It redefines the term "Classic Americana Diner"! Fluffy, delicious biscuits, creamy gravy, perfectly-browned hash browns, hot coffee, and chili verde omelette that was nothing short of perfection!! I would rate this place 10 stars if I could!!

Buffet restaurant
Breakfast restaurant
Nestled conveniently next to the 99 Freeway, Hodel's Country Dining has been a beloved staple in Bakersfield for over four decades. This charming restaurant is renowned for its extensive buffet offerings that showcase a delightful array of homemade salads, hearty hot entrees, and their signature cinnamon rolls that keep patrons coming back for more.
Bakersfields Greatest Buffet !! Shockingly could exceed many buffets in Las Vegas. Great meal rotation throughout the day. Quality food with Home Cook taste.

Been here many times over the years, always a great experience, the best to me is coming here for breakfast but like maybe 30 minutes before they start lunch so you can get both and its awesome. Service has always been super good. Prices arent terrible either but make sure to come very hungry to get your worth. They have a cool giftshop area and all that as well, sometimes there can be a wait though if church gets out and everyone goes. I really like that they fly a big American flag at the street also, nice seeing some patriotism in this day and age.

The last time we were here was about 5 years ago. Passing through, we decided to stop again. Unfortunately the food was not as good as last time. The fried chicken was juicy and crispy last time. The desserts were great, especially the peach cobbler. This time, fried chicken was greasy and lacked flavor. The desserts never got replenished. The weirdest part, was the cashier asking if we left our waitress a tip. Really, the waitress that was non- existent. The waitress that was off in the corner chatting with other staff members instead of working. Ha-Ha.. no did not leave her a tip. Would have given her advice on how to earn her tips instead. Sadly location is not as it used to be.

I know many people who do not prefer buffets for many reasons, however; Hodel’s in Bakersfield, California has many great qualities that will be preferred by them. The food does not sit on the tray for long periods of time. It is fresh. As a matter of fact, you can order some food of whatever they have available behind the counter! This place has a country style atmosphere. Lots of parking space and a very easy off and back on the 99 freeway and Olive Avenue. Friendly staff and lots of clean restrooms. Fresh salads. Tasty desserts and many options on food. Price is very reasonable for the amount of food and its taste. I honestly recommend this place when looking for a buffet for the whole family or even for yourself. You will be satisfied just like I did…

My family first time visiting this which turn out to be wonderful. Please ask for Charity or Tina, two fantastic waitresses. The food was fantastic, specially to 2 of my grandchildren. Country style buffet. I am from the midwest and this place looked, smelled and tasted like the midwest. Theres even a dairy farm down the road! Kind waitresses and great mashed potatoes, broccoli salad, carrot cake and pulled pork. (Try the spicy bbq sauce) I bought a tin ofdidn't. cinnamon rolls because it felt like sacrilege if I didnt.

Food was extremely good!!!! I know a place is very good when I can't wait to go again. And after having their breakfast here I had that feeling. So I absolutely can't wait to go again and try their lunches and dinners. Also the price for the buffet is extremely affordable when everything is ridiculously expensive. Excellent and friendly service! Felt really good after eating here! I had a Western burger. Their burger meat is carrot raised and carrot finished! Really impressed with everything here. I had an Italian soda, organic cauliflower wings, and organic sweet potato fries. Wish we had this place in Oklahoma!

It was a darling place with delicious food. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating to my family. The place itself was extremely small and they only had 1 bathroom. The food did not come out around the same time so most of the party was done before I was able to start. That being said, I would still recommend it, the tri tip sandwich was delicious and the waitress that helped us was very friendly. Come ahead if you have a large party, I would suggest only having a max of 4 people.

We had such a fantastic experience at this local gem! The lobster roll was absolutely outstanding — perfectly chilled, wild-caught, and so refreshing. You could taste the quality and freshness in every bite. The atmosphere of the restaurant makes it even more enjoyable, with a warm, welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home. The waitresses brought so much personality and friendliness to the table, making the service just as memorable as the food. And the owner — we absolutely love them! It’s clear they pour their heart into this place. Highly recommend if you’re looking for both amazing food and a wonderful dining experience.

Uricchio's Trattoria is a popular Italian restaurant in Bakersfield, known for its generous portions of hearty Italian cuisine. The menu features a variety of soups and entrees prepared with precision and quality by Chef Raphael Hernandez and his team. The restaurant offers an impressive selection of wines to complement their dishes, ranging from Tuscany to California.

My second visit and so close to 5 stars. I'm very picky about my Italian food experience. Food One of the few restaurants I have gone to that has manicotti that is real manicotti none of the crepe "really thin pancake" garbage. The meat sauce was delicious. Ordered a meatball and it was ok I had expected a little more flavor but would totally order it again. Enough to share for two of you order an appetizer. The calamari was fabulous as well, cooked perfect! Lobster ravioli was good. Not something I would typically order but wanted to taste something different. Great sauce The espresso martini was meh, I was ok they didn't have real Expresso but you would expect an Italian restaurant to have Expresso. Atmosphere First of you want to be comfortable eating ask to be seated in the wine room those chairs look comfy. I was there on a Thursday when they opened so it wasn't crowded. It was quite and pleasant. Service I arrived 50 minutes before my reservation and requested if I could move it up 30 minutes or so and they were able to accommodate. Had a cocktail in the bar. Every staff member was friendly, pleasant and courteous. Food was timed well. If I had to say anything negative is getting the check and the togo box took a little long. Highly recommend and will go back.

My husband and I decided to go here for our date night as neither of us had ever been, and we had both heard a lot about it. We made a reservation, but it was early on a Friday and not really necessary. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good. The place needs updated and and honestly, it was way too hot in there for a summer evening.

$10 for this Tiramisu to go. When I got home, I was so disappointed. I Paid for two slices but it looks like one slice cut in half and placed in two boxes. I really feel I got ripped off. Food was good, but overpriced. I forgot the name of what I ordered, but it came with four pieces of ravioli and one tiny thin piece of chicken. Not worth it at all. I ordered a white Russian took 10 minutes to get to my table and they were not busy. Server came to us once. I had to ask for our bill. I won’t be going back anytime soon.

Service was very quick and super friendly and helpful which was particularly nice because we sat outside with my two small pups. And those spoiled things were offered a drink first lol ... Very welcoming! Food was decent. Sausage rigatoni dish was great but the Alfredo was just so so....a little bland for my taste. Partner had the sand dabs (a fish) and he said they were perfect as usual. Bruschetta appetizer was alright. I've had better. Overall a great experience and the dogs and I will definitely be back!

The dinner as always was amazing. I chose the scallops, with sauteed vegetables, and fresh mashed potatoes. It was very tasteful, fresh, and perfectly prepared. To start I had the caesar salad and I requested anchovies which was very good. For the red wine I chose a glass from Peachy Canyon. The service was spot on. Thank you

Last night, nine friends and I had a lovely time at the wonderful Uricchio’s Restaurant. We were seated in the comfortable wine room. All of our meals were delicious with generous portions. Our waitress was terrific, attentive and efficient. We had a great time and will be back.

Mexican restaurant
Nuestro Mexico Restaurant is a cozy spot in Bakersfield, known for serving up authentic Mexican cuisine since 2014. The menu is filled with a variety of delightful dishes, including ceviche, enchiladas, tostadas, and margaritas. The space itself is inviting with vibrant walls, tiled floors, and plenty of Mexican artwork. In addition to traditional favorites like tacos and burritos, the restaurant offers unique selections such as shrimp wrapped with bacon and plantain tacos.
M family felt like Mexican tonight and after looking at Google reviews, we picked this place……and glad we did. We all loved our meal. Just delicious. My wife had the chicken tacos and thought they were some of the best she has ever had. I had a bite and they were so good. My son had the trio of enchiladas. While all three were tasty, the verde one was streaking good. My other son had the steak tacos and loved them. I had the shrimp ajo dish. The garlic and spices were excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed my choice. Oh, we started with the shrimp ceviche app and we really enjoyed that too. Give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Great place! We enjoyed our lunch of Tacos Al pastor, chile encuerado, chile colorado, and bistek encervezado. The cafe de olla was rich and sweet. If we lived here we’d come back!

So happy we finally stopped in. 10/10. Service was great, everyone was checking in, bringing drinks, clearing plates. The restaurant is small and they have small outdoor area. Menu was delicious. They have a whole vegetarian section, excellent margaritas. We all left full and happy.

They're good for Mexican food, sometimes can be off not necessarily in flavor but quality like bread could be too hard or not enough filling, but most part good for lunch

Went there with friends after a convention in Bakersfield. Looked it up online. Had lots of 5 star reviews. Our party of 6 got a table no problem. Service was good. I had flautas, one have nachos, another fish tacos, a quesadilla… everything was about the best I’ve seen. Fresh, colorful. The place is small. Maybe 40 seats. People coming in said it’s their favorite place.

Delicious food and the staff was very kind. My family had a great time. We were almost too full to walk the downtown antique stores.

DOS: 05/05/2025 Around 5PM Ordered the Chile Verde Enchiladas, Rice and Beans with a side of flour tortillas. The flavor of the Chile Verde was SOOOO yummy. Probably my new favorite in town. I'll have to visit again to make sure. Beans were ok. Rice was delicious also. I also really enjoyed their salsa. Im not a big salsa eater, so was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Service was fast. We were promptly greeted and food was brought out pretty quickly. I only gave 4 stars because I was never offered a refill on my drink. Speaking of drinks, they offer Coke products. Their Coke was actually pretty good too. Definitely worth checking out, I'll definitely be returning soon for that chili verde! It is not spicy, which is perfect for me. If you prefer spicy, this isnt the one for you.
