Museums
MoMA PS1, located in Long Island City, Queens, is a contemporary art museum that showcases thought-provoking and innovative works. Housed in a former public school building, this museum features over 200,000 contemporary pieces including paintings, sculptures, videos, and installations from the late 1800s to the modern day.
The best way to spend your Summer Friday. GOOD: Amazing DJs, good vibes, good people. This event attracts people from what seems to be all over the city since it’s located in Long Island City. There are two bars, one in the front and one near the exhibits. There are also two or three food trucks. Lots of people, but in a good way. Everyone was respectful, dancing and having a good time. BAD: Drinks are a little pricy ($12 for a canned drink — not the worst but not ideal). The bathrooms are also portables. Make sure you buy a ticket beforehand, I showed up at 7/7:30 and they were sold out for tickets at the door.

My first visit here and really enjoyed it. The current exhibits are both thought provoking, and entertaining and they deal with consumerism, waste and sexuality. There’s also an exhibit room with a video and head sets about.the Aids epidemic in the 80s which was very informative. My favorite part was the gift shop. Pretty pricy which is the usual with museum stores but totally worth a visit for unique and cool gifts for yourself or someone else!

MoMA PS1 in Long Island City is one of the most interesting and creative museums I’ve been to in New York. The building itself used to be a public school, and you can still feel that history in the layout and the old classrooms that have been turned into exhibition spaces. One of the coolest hidden gems inside is the original boiler room you can actually go down and see the huge heating system that once powered the school. It’s a mix of industrial history and modern art all in one spot, and it really adds to the whole experience. The museum always has very unique and thought-provoking installations that go beyond the traditional idea of an art gallery. Every time I visit, there’s something completely new to explore. The bookshop inside has a really nice selection of art books, design magazines, and creative gifts you don’t usually find elsewhere. The café is also a great place to take a break the coffee and small bites are surprisingly good, and the atmosphere fits the artistic vibe of the place. Overall, MoMA PS1 feels like a blend of history, creativity, and community. Definitely worth spending a few hours wandering through.

Their WarmUp parties are fantastic. Multiple DJs, great and interesting crowd, all very respectful and fun. Highly recommend coming here on a warm Friday night. The museum itself is not worth coming for, in my view.
Lukas A — Google review
I passed by the museum on a sunny day - there is minimal shade outside, so the sun was burning down. Much of the art piece are quite modern and abstract. There are graffiti on the walls of the staircase and creaking floors in the hall. The open space room is among the most peaceful, but quite humid
Andrew L — Google review
I loved the MoMA experience! The building itself is beautiful — it used to be an old school that was transformed into a museum. The art on display is very contemporary, with photos, videos, and immersive sensory installations. If you’re looking for an interesting and different kind of art experience, this place is definitely for you. It was free for me as a NYC resident — they simply asked for my ZIP code, and my three guests were also able to enter for free (though I’m not sure if that’s always the case). There are small lockers available to store backpacks and handbags. The museum closes around 6:00 PM. I wouldn’t recommend this exhibition for kids, as some artworks include explicit sexual images or representations.
Victorandmanuela — Google review
We arrived a bit late so everything was kind of closing we tried and see some exhibitions and I found the short films truly beautiful, I think they gave a really strong message and made me feel a lot of emotions. We could completely see much more because a lot of the exhibitions were close but overall it was very nice.

MoMA PS1 is a relatively small museum, but it has very interesting exhibitions and curated great content for modern art / contemporary art. No matter if visitors like the art or not, they are intriguing and push visitors to reflect, think and discuss. Would love to come back to future exhibitions.

Park
Gantry Plaza State Park is a 12-acre park located on four piers along the East River in Queens, New York. The park offers stunning views of Manhattan and features restored gantries. The neighborhood surrounding the park has undergone significant transformation, attracting artists and executives with its easy commute to midtown, abundant warehouse space, and low rents. Visitors can also explore nearby cultural hubs such as MoMA PS1 and the Chocolate Factory.
Beautiful park right on the water, with great views of the skyline. A perfect place for photography. There are plenty of people enjoying the space but it didn't feel crowded. Highly recommend watching the sunset across the city from here.

beautiful park with amazing views. very safe as i seen many police and park rangers. relaxing chairs. you can see many iconic building including the chrysler building and empire state. you can take a ferry as well for 4.50$. i took it to brooklyn bridge or the dumbo ferry port for even better views

A fantastic urban oasis, easily accessible by public transport and walking - we come from Astoria, Queens by taking the N train to Queensboro plaza then walking the rest of the way through lovely Long Island City that has undergone amazing improvements for the better in the last 3 decades. There’s so much to do here in the park. You can sit down to look at the river and the stunning views across the water, go for a walk along the winding paths, watch people play beach volleyball or kids running around, laugh at the many dogs having a field day, take a ferry or have a picnic… the choice of having a beautifully peaceful time is yours!
Alla B — Google review
This park is incredibly peaceful and offers plenty of things to do. There’s a playground for kids, a dog park, and sand volleyball courts—perfect for playing year-round, though especially fun in the summer. It’s also a very popular route for runners, and I can see why—it’s spacious, clean, and relaxing. From my point of view, it has some of the best views of the Manhattan skyline. The sunsets here are absolutely stunning and worth staying for. A perfect place to unwind, exercise, or just enjoy the scenery.
Diego T — Google review
Much of the crowd is by northern end. The bottom half of the park is largely empty, but still fairly nice. The pathways and park is very well maintained with many exploring the riverside scenery. The view from the Hunter point library is quite spectacular.
Andrew L — Google review
The park is on the river bank, and you have the skyline of New York City in front of you. You can appreciate some history of the city when seeing the heavy unloading machinery on the edge of the bank. Food festival is another attraction. Very nice casual place inside a busy, crowded urban city.
Zhong S — Google review
A beautiful, lovely park. Visiting Gantry Plaza park felt healing as the place was significantly less crowded than the ones in Manhattan. It was also a plus that the park offered some awestruck view of the skylines. It’s a must-see place to visit when the weather’s nice.
Ben P — Google review
It is a beautiful place to walk / sit and enjoy the beautiful skyline view. Go on a cool day, and the vibe is just amazing. There are people walking their dogs, some are exercising, someone is playing music, you name it, and it's happening. It's such a scenic, happy place. Don't forget to take a picture with the Pepsi cola sign. We took a ferry to visit here, so I've no idea about parking

Art museum
The Noguchi Museum, located in Queens, New York, is a unique art museum dedicated to the works of artist and architect Isamu Noguchi. Established in 1985 by Noguchi himself, the museum features twelve indoor galleries showcasing a representative sample of his life's work. In addition to the indoor exhibits, visitors can explore a serene outdoor sculpture garden designed according to traditional Japanese landscaping principles.
This is an exquisite museum. The exhibits are presented in an austere place and each piece is presented so perfectly. I’d highly recommend going through each room and getting the little descriptors to look at each piece. We spent a couple hours. We even watched the movies they had. Added bonus: they have a super interesting museum shop.
Frank R — Google review
The museum has beautiful sculptures, interesting indoor installations and a lovely, peaceful garden. It’s best to visit it on a warm day to be able to enjoy the garden. There are free tours available and all staff members are friendly.
Olga S — Google review
This museum is small, but mighty and definitely worth checking out! It highlights the work of Japanese-American sculptor Isamu Noguchi in both indoor galleries and a quiet sculpture garden. The outdoor garden is incredibly peaceful and serene. Housed in a renovated factory near his old studio, the space feels intimate and thoughtfully designed. Exhibits include sculptures, drawings, furniture designs, and rotating contemporary collaborations. Parking is tricky in the area, but we parked at Costco and were fine for a limited time there.
Anna K — Google review
A must-see for anyone interested in art and the artistic thought process. A very well thought-out museum where the presence of the artist is deeply felt. Some trees in the garden were even planted by him! I found lots of great gifts at the museum shop, from little bells miniature ceramic homes, to books and lamps. Bonus was a great lunch on Broadway nearby, at a fraction of the cost of Manhattan!
Genevieve C — Google review
Such a pretty and unique museum. Every room is so calming & the exhibits are great for Noguchi fans. I didn’t know much about his work previously, but this experience inspired me to look into him afterwards. The Japanese garden outside is a great place for meditating & relaxing. And the gift shop is very interesting as well!
Ana — Google review
The Noguchi Museum is such an awesome little oasis in the middle of Astoria, Queens. Noguchi was a true artist’s artist across mediums from sculpture to drawing to the designing of physical spaces like public parks. When I just visited, the museum was celebrating its 40th anniversary with a retrospective of the artist’s work and that’s when I realized I was familiar with his iconic red cube downtown in the Financial District. All in, this is a must visit if you’re looking for a great, peaceful elegant space in the city.
Stinson I — Google review
The Noguchi Museum feels like a sanctuary. It’s such a beautiful place! The garden breathes peace — stones that seem to hum with Noguchi’s spirit, light that slows the heart. It’s a place to sit for hours and simply be. I left feeling honored, grounded, and in love with its quiet beauty.
Annabella M — Google review
Loves how clean, well organized, and pleasant this space was. The sculptures were very beautiful and the garden was so peaceful. Great little gift shop too! Close to the NYC Ferry if you want to avoid a crowded subway or see some river views, and close to Socrates Sculpture Park which is a little park you can walk through as the cherry on top after the Museum.

Museums
SculptureCenter, established in 1928 as The Clay Club by Dorothea Denslow, is a contemporary art museum located in Long Island City, Queens. It serves as an international forum for artists and audiences by presenting exhibitions, commissioning new work, and generating scholarship. The center focuses on showcasing contemporary artwork by both emerging and established artists without developing a permanent collection.
The architecture of the space though small is very unique and interesting. And the exhibits though limited feel well-curated. I particularly liked the Scott Burton exhibit which was inspired by the landscape and vegetation of the Ramble in Central Park. I plan to return once the exhibits change. Admission is always free.

This repurposed industrial building is a gem among new luxury skyscrapers. The massive space upstairs makes for some epic installations. The basement may feel claustrophobic to some but there’s enough room to go with a stroller (there’s an elevator as well). We loved the recent exhibit surprisingly lurid images from Pakistan and Afghanistan. This is a must visit and it’s absolutely free.
Craig M — Google review
It's a nice quick attraction with a few but beautiful exhibits. It's free and the exhibit in the basement has a very creepy feel to it. Definitely worth checking out if you are near the area.
Erik Z — Google review
didn't know what to expect but it ended up being a really good sculpture center the basement space is very fun and sculptural in its ancient architecture. the main gallery is large and configurable. also the price is right
Brian F — Google review
SculptureCenter is a gallery center for sculpture artists and free to visit! High ceilings, raw beams and brick walls give the space an open, industrial feel. There's a basement space that's quite striking and a small outdoor patio with a few benches, gravel and cement walls that open to the sky, giving a view of the LIC skyline. Very cool spot! They sell books and some products in their little shop and bathrooms are in the back.
Jessica F — Google review
LOVE THIS ART SPACE. Every exhibition I have seen here over the last several years has been excellent. It amazes me that not more people visit - or are even aware of it. Also, very easy to reach by subway from Manhattan - and it's FREE to enter. Currently there are 3 shows on view. ASMA: Ideal Space for Music is in the downstairs space and recently opened. Really fabulous and perfect for the space. The last show I saw here which will be here until late March is Alvaro Urbano's Tableau Vivant (fantastic!!) and most recently opened is Anita Esfandiari's In Practice.
Irma Z — Google review
It’s nice that it’s free but the quality of art is always a miss. I can’t tell what is the art or if they’re under renovation? Showcase artists with actual talent!
Li R — Google review
The space is absolutely amazing. Multiple rooms, make it perfect for multiple artist showing, or multiple parts of one show. It was very inviting to me. I spent some time looking for a program. Also, it was opening day so it had many guests. Took my boyfriend and I about an hour to enjoy.

Nestled in Queens, the Museum of the Moving Image is a hidden treasure dedicated to showcasing the evolution of film, television, and digital media. The museum boasts an extensive collection of artifacts such as historic cameras, iconic costumes, and props from famous films. Visitors can explore the Behind the Screen exhibition featuring over 1,400 rare historical items. Additionally, the museum offers regular screenings of classic and independent films in its own theater.
Awesome experience!! General admission is free from 2 pm to 6 pm EVERY Thursday. It was busy but not overcrowded; no wait time. There's a bevy of interactive apparatus at your disposal that allows hands-on experience. I didn't get a chance to partake in the interactive options since there was a line for it. I loved the Mission Impossible exhibition. I have a newfound respect for Mr Cruise. In addition, the Jim Henson exhibit provided nostalgia and a host of behind-the-scenes work and thought processes that brought the characters we love to life. This museum is also a wonderful experience for kids.
Danak D — Google review
This is a fantastic museum that focuses on the history of moving images, and has a permanent Jim Henson exhibit. We were excited that on our last afternoon in New York City was spent within this museum. Initially, I wanted to check out the Henson related installment, but was surprised by the wealth of movie memorabilia and behind-the-scene work for films. Their extension collection of props, prosthetics, set design, and more brings the magic of the silver screen to guests for a greater understanding and appreciation of the art form. They also have one of the largest collections of movie cameras, old televisions, and even a recreated movie theater for guests to experience. I look forward to visiting this museum when we're back in the area and recommend it to all visitors in Astoria. It'll charm any Jim Henson fan, delight the casual to serious movie-goer, and ignite the passion for films within everyone else.

Hands down one of my favorite museums in all of nyc. If you’re here visiting you have to come here it’s a must. They also have limited exhibits as well. Last time I went they had a whole section for the mission impossible movies, which was pretty cool to see. Finally if you love movies and the creative process that goes into it…do yourself a favor stop reading this review and go now!!!!
Jonathan R — Google review
Went on a Sunday @4pm and absolutely no wait or crowding. Tickets were a bit pricey in my opinion, for $20 per adult I expected the museum to be a lot bigger then it was on the inside. The Jim Henson exhibit was beautiful with a number of small interactive displays. Staff was okay but could have been a bit more welcoming. They offered VR experiences but I was told you needed a separate reservation for that.
Nashera — Google review
Absolutely loved the exhibits of the Museum of the Moving Image during my trip to NYC. The history of captured images was very informative and entertaining. Would definitely recommend making this a spot during your trip - the Jim Henson exhibit was my favorite and I thought the progression of his work was well thought out and executed beautifully.
Amanda D — Google review
This is one of the coolest places to visit in NYC. Located in Queens, the museum is home to permanent displays from the origins of film and television. There is a muppets section of the museum and a temporary Mission Impossible exhibit featuring props, costumes, and recorded interviews with Tom Cruise. The museum opens at noon Thursday through Saturday with free admission on Thursdays. If you enjoy movies and appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into producing box office blockbusters, then the Museum of the Moving Image is a must see attraction.
Paul C — Google review
I always love coming here! I have visited a few times. It’s interactive for kids and adults. And there’s great historical pieces too. The Jim Henson exhibit is a favorite of mine! The tickets are not very expensive. I’ve gone on a Saturday and it can get pretty crowded in there stop motion lab or flip book thing, but you can try going at a an earlier time to avoid the crusades. The gift shop also has pretty cool books and things! For me, it’s a must-visit if you’re a New Yorker and want a fun 2-hour-ish outing! It’s definitely not a full-day thing like the AMNH 😅
Jess G — Google review
I've lived in NYC my whole life and for whatever reason, never thought to go here. Seeing the Muppets and a cast of Robin Williams made me so very emotional. The mission impossible exhibit is right up my alley aswell. It's like this museum was made just for me. I will be visiting again soon.

Mexican restaurant
Casa Enrique is a casual cantina in Long Island City, Queens that offers refined Mexican classics and cocktails in a modern setting with concrete floors. It holds the distinction of being the only Michelin-starred restaurant in the borough, making it one of the top dining destinations. Chef Cosme Aguilar, who hails from Chiapas, Mexico, infuses his complex menu with flavors from various regions and cities, including his own childhood recipes.
This is a terrific Mexican restaurant with some of the most delightful dishes. Steak is super tender, perfectly cooked at medium raw, juicy and melts in your mouth. Tacos come with fresh corn tortillas. The meat is fresh, sweet and savory. Fish ceviche is tangy, spicy. The restaurant is right off of Vernon, slightly more secluded being next to a children park/playground. Outdoor seatings are available. Service is quick. We were able to get a table on a Saturday afternoon for an early dinner without a reservation. The price is on the higher end for mexican food but I still recommend for occasional treat for anyone to try.
Linh P — Google review
Went here last Sunday. My group got a spread of 12 tacos: 4 chicken, 4 pork, 2 brisket, 2 fish. The brisket was the best. Came shredded and juicy. The fish was also pretty good. The chicken and pork tacos were pretty bland and very dry. All the tacos were served at the same time and all were tepid apart from the fish (which was nice and hot), so I think it might have been hanging around for a while waiting for the fish to be ready. On the bright side the service was lovely and attentive. We also got the cocktail specials which were delicious. Overall it's a nice place, but at $9 per taco, I had expected to be amazed, and they were just middling. An al-dente carrot slice in an already dry taco just does not work! p.s. we were sat outside and got mobbed by mosquitoes towards the end of the meal, so had to leave in a hurry. The staff did kindly provide bug spray though.
Robbie — Google review
Great meal at Casa Enrique last night. We had an 8:30 reservation but were able to get sat early, as we arrived faster than anticipated. Lovely service, and we had enough pozole to bring home with us. Perfect as the weather is turning cold. Need to return to dig into more of their long cocktail list!
Ben M — Google review
Casa Enrique continues to be one of the best restaurants in Long Island City and it fully deserves its reputation. Every time we visit, the food is consistent, fresh, and full of bold flavor. You can taste the care in the cooking, whether it’s the guacamole, ceviche, enchiladas, or their signature mole. The dishes are beautifully balanced without being overly complicated, which makes the experience feel both comforting and special. The service is another reason we keep returning. The staff is warm, patient, and genuinely welcoming. Even on busy nights, they make you feel taken care of and always offer thoughtful recommendations. It is clear they care about creating a positive experience for every guest. The atmosphere is relaxed but polished, making it a great spot for a casual dinner or celebrating something meaningful. It has become one of those rare neighborhood restaurants where you want to bring friends and family just to share how good it is. We also love that the quality has never slipped no matter how popular it gets. Casa Enrique is a true gem in Queens. If you are in LIC and want an amazing meal with great service, this should be at the top of your list.
Adam S — Google review
Great experience here on a Friday night! We were seated at the bar and our bartender/water was super attentive and made excellent drink/entree recommendations. One of the best spicy margaritas I’ve had in a while! He was very knowledgeable about the tequila/mezcal options which I appreciate. The food was good, elevated takes on traditional Mexican flair. Pop in if you can get a seat! It’s very busy!
Mitsy D — Google review
The Casa Enrique brunch menu was a mixed bag. The flautas de pollo ($22 plus tax) and the pastel tres leches ($13) were hits. The guacamole ($18), though creamy, was very bland for something supposed to be medium spicy. This was concerning because the classics should be executed exceptionally. The virgin Bloody Mary was also a miss, the added sugar imparting an odd syrupy taste.
Augusto P — Google review
My cousin from the Philippines were visiting NY and invited me with others to have dinner at this restaurant. I have to start something totally unrelated to this topic, was finding a parking on the street like, Manassas Virginia where I live finding a parking is never an issue no matter where you go to here in this town. I was little late but dinner was ready and preciously placed on the table with rest of the side dishes. I hade a probably a 6oz steak as a main course with other sides as you can see in the picture. Since I spent decades with Mexican family in California, I really do know the taste of assorted salsas and sauces, it was to the perfection. Steak was medium rare tender and was easy to chew on. I loved the masa tortilla, reminded me of someone especial who use to make it from the scratch. Our Host Andres and the rest of the host was wonderful, friendly and attentive to our needs. Definitely will go back next time I’m in New York. Thank You!

My boyfriend and I walked in on Sunday around 8pm over Labor Day weekend and the place was packed. There weren't any tables available, so we sat at the bar. It was very busy, especially at the bar, so the seating wasn't ideal, but the bartender who served us was such a nice guy. He was very gracious and personable to all guests, not just us, even though he was clearly very busy. We ordered the shrimp ceviche, enchiladas, ribs and tres leches for dessert. Everything was delicious and the service was great! Can't wait to return.

Barbecue restaurant
Restaurant
John Brown BBQ is a casual counter-service spot in Long Island City that offers delicious Kansas City-style meats. The menu includes options like beef brisket sandwiches, juicy pork ribs, and their specialty 'Burnt Ends,' which are crispy and sweet pieces of meat served with housemade barbecue sauce. You can also enjoy sides like sweet coleslaw and pair your meal with a draft beer or wine in the outdoor beer garden.
This place was bomb. Spacious inside and a super cute outdoor area in the back. The service was so friendly and helpful. Food was pretty legit too. The cornbread was a surprising star of our meal. The burnt ends were a bit too fatty but everything else slapped.

This restaurant offers an authentic Texas BBQ style experience with a great selection of drinks. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with a spacious backyard area that can accommodate large groups. There are TVs available for watching games, making it a perfect spot for gatherings and celebrations. The food is delicious — everything we ordered was excellent. I visited on a Thursday, and the service was outstanding. A lovely Bangladeshi auntie took great care of all the customers, making the experience even more enjoyable. The only downside is that the location is a bit out of the way, so it’s more convenient for those who have a car. Overall, it’s a fantastic place and definitely worth a visit!

I’ve eaten at John Brown’s several times. I’ve always really enjoyed their food. Food tastes great, big portions, tasty sides and their Mac and Cheese is amazing. Nice ice cold beers as well. You’ll love this little gem of a place.

The good: Ribs, burnt ends and collard greens. Also the place has really nice outdoor seating. The bad: brisket (it was dry), bread and beans. The ugly: Cornbread - steer clear if you don’t like the taste of canned/cream corn. Otherwise very moist (almost soggy though).
Andrew M — Google review
Came here on a Sunday afternoon. The Chiefs vs Raider’s football 🏈 game was on all the televisions 📺. Everyone was dressed in KC Jerseys. It felt like we were in Missouri not Astoria Queens. Food is good. Nice staff. The lady working the outside patio was very friendly. On the expensive side so bring your Credit Cards 💳. Give this place a try if you’re in the area. We will definitely be going back.

I have normally been a prime rib gal, but I think I'm gravitating now towards their pastrami and burn ends! Great time to go on the weekends right before it right at 5P, fresh cuts and slow crowd. Wonderful service by "Ma" and the team. Always feels like home when coming here.
Dessa R — Google review
As someone from KC, a few thoughts: 1. Burnt Ends were delish! A MUST have. Staple. Absolutely banger. If you’re ordering only 1 thing, get this 2. Cornbread is a bit too moist. It’s basically corncake. Could be up to your taste, but i think cornbread should be a hit structured and have a solid crust 3. Pit beans, i appreciate the burnt ends in the beans, but something felt off about the texture. Other pictures show a better version of the pit beans, so I’ll have to come back and try again and update 4. Huge on the white bread side. Very very Kansas City. 5. MAC AND CHEESE - primo. Beautiful. Must get. Otherwise - staff were nice. Prices for portions were all reasonable. sauces were solid. Definitely will come back

I came here with friends for dinner. The venue is a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan. With banners indoors and outdoors of the championships that they've won. Counter service is a little bit different since everything in serves by the pound. I highly recommend the pastrami, pulled pork, brisket, burnt ends, so much more! The drinks are right on point. Not too strong. Not too weak. Just a good pairing with whatever it is that you're ordering.

Pizza restaurant
Beebe's is a wood-fired pizza restaurant located inside the Boro Hotel in Long Island City, NY. The pizzas are topped with ingredients like arugula, stracciatella, tomato, and coarsely ground black pepper and are delicious. In the warmer months, the restaurant has courtyard tables and chairs for dining.
The restaurant is a bit off the beaten path, but well worth the trip. We started with the pepperoni chips, perfectly crispy and served with an incredible ranch dressing. For our main course, we had the Campfire Pizza, which featured smoked mozzarella, mushrooms, and rosemary--an amazing combination. We also tried the Margherita pizza topped with prosciutto, and both pizzas were absolutely delicious. We loved every bite!

I ate here with a coworker after we walked around Long Island City looking for a pizza place. We picked this place because there was ample seating but reasonable. The pizza was very good! Not necessarily a classic New York slice, a little fancier. They had an extensive menu of regular food items besides pizza. It was in the lobby of a hotel and somewhat hard to find. Service was excellent - they even timed our appetizer and entree well. If you’re in the neighborhood, definitely check this place out!

Ordered takeout and just absolutely vile, the audacity to be proud of the product, pizza is cold hard and lacking, papa John’s is better… embarrassing. Mozzarella sticks should be warm and these things are just bricks. Warm up your jaw because you’ll be chewing on rocks.

My partner and I ate here three times during our anniversary trip (10/9–10/11) because we loved it so much. On our last night, our amazing server, Bailey, noticed the band on my t-shirt and started playing their music—not knowing we had just gotten engaged and that the band means a lot to both of us, I was brought to tears. It made the night feel so special and romantic, and was the perfect way to end our trip. The vibe here is cozy and romantic, the staff is super kind, and the food was 10/10. We ordered the vodka pie twice because it was that good. Highly recommend stopping in for a nice dinner—you won’t be disappointed.

There are a lot of famous pizza places in New York, but this pie here is likely my favorite. The spice in the marinara is perfect and the pepperoni is on point. The drinks are great as well. You can’t go wrong with this pizza, especially if you like a hint of spice in the sauce.

Delicious food. Highly recommend the Kale Caesar Salad, the Vodka pie with pepperoni, Margarita Pie with pepperoni, Chicken Milanese make sure to ask for extra Parmesan & a side of Caesar dressing or Vodka sauce. Trust me, I won't steer you wrong. Enjoy!

We celebrated our wedding here, and it was incredible. The view was stunning, the food was delicious, and the service was exceptional from start to finish. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

M. Wells Steakhouse, located in Long Island City, is the brainchild of Canadian chef Hugue Dufour and his partner Sarah Obraitis. The restaurant is housed in a converted auto body shop next to a loading dock, giving it a unique and funky atmosphere.
M.Wells offers a truly unique menu that delights and surprises. The highlights were the French onion soup which was rich with a deep beefy flavor and nicely caramelized onions. The smoked meat ravioli which was an innovative, worthy tribute to a Montreal classic. And the venison, expertly prepared and cooked to perfection, it was tender as could be. The steak tartare wasn’t for me and we did find a few hairs in our food which dampened the experience slightly. But overall M.Wells is an excellent restaurant and it’s a shame it is shutting down

Food is fun, often playful, like the Mortadella Mille-Feuille. We had the Huckleberry Rack of Venison, a ravioli dish, filled with smokey meat, the socca with green tahini and za'atar. For dessert sticky toffee pudding, a warm hazelnut cookie with pumpkin ice cream, and the coconut cake.....no, I could eat it all, but wanted to. My maple bourbon old fashion was a perfect cocktail for this feast.

This was the worst dining experience I've had in a long time. The exterior decoration of the restaurant is quite nice, adorned with many plants at the entrance, but everything from ordering to dining to paying was disappointing. Firstly, our server lacked a sense of service, perhaps due to the restaurant's mandatory 20% gratuity policy. He was very sluggish in taking our order and did not proactively refill our water. He also didn’t ask if we had finished our food when clearing our plates, making the entire service feel mechanical and rude. Additionally, the food was bland and overpriced. Compared to similar dishes at French restaurants on Vernon Boulevard in LIC, their steak and seafood were nearly 50% more expensive but significantly inferior in taste. The steak was overcooked and tough to chew, and the butter was bland, failing to enhance the flavor of the meat. The swordfish was dry, and the sauce did not integrate well with the fish, resulting in an overall bland taste that was unappetizing. Lastly, the presentation of the dishes was very ordinary, and the quality of the plates appeared low, not doing any favors to make the food look more appealing. Overall, this restaurant was a disappointment and not worth a special trip. If you are staying in LIC or visiting, there are far better options for French cuisine and other types of food nearby.

AMAZING FOOD, AMAZING STAFF 🔥 ❤️ Came here for a friend's birthday and had a pretty good experience. It was a set menu because of the number of people in our group. The appetizers were yummy but weren't a fan of the wedge salad because I don't like blue cheese, and they can't separate it from the dish, which was a bummer. The main course steak was delicious with a perfect medium rare 😋 for dessert it was apple pie and ice cream, which was a perfect match and great ending. The atmosphere was really nice and the staff were super attentive. The only thing was that we waited quite a while for each dish of food, which made us a little annoyed because we were hungry.

Amazing food, amazing service, cool decor. The service was amazing! Our waiter was so lovely and I could tell he was passionate about the food. And the FOOD. We had French onion soup, buttermilk salad and shared the bavette steak. Do not pass this place up! It’s incredible!

One of my favorite restaurants in NYC. Everyone I go, I struggle to pick my favorite dish of the night because everything is so well made. They’re very aware of dietary restrictions - when I mark gluten free on the reservation the server immediately tells me what on the menu can and can’t be accommodated. It is a seasonal menu and limited but every dish is incredible. The oysters are so fresh and the mignonette has a great balancing flavor. The Wagu steak melted in my mouth. The crab and uni omelette was like tasting the ocean. Excellent service, cocktails, wine choices, and ambiance. A must visit!

What an incredible jewel tucked away in Long Island! Very friendly staff, attentive and charming. Food was absolutely amazing, and I'm told its an exact replica of the kind of food you would get in Quebec. We had oysters, two kinds of salad, the goat tagine, pumpkin duck, pork chops and a few other things that were all really flavorful, tasty and cooked to perfection. You absolutely have to make a trip to this incredible restaurant! 🥰 If you liked my review please give me a thumbs up👍🏾 and follow me for more honest reviews! 🙏🏾

Ramen restaurant
Takumen is a modern Izakaya-style Japanese restaurant with a casual and contemporary vibe. The restaurant features a cozy atmosphere with rotating art exhibits, offering an impressive selection of noodles, sake, and craft beers. The menu includes a variety of fusion dishes such as Hawaiian Tuna Poke Bowl, Spicy Goma Miso Ramen Noodles, Ban Ban Chicken Ramen Noodles, Wan Tan Men Ramen Noodles, and Black Sesame & Kale Salad.
Found this while we were around Gantry Park. Really nice atmosphere especially in the evening with their playlist. Other than the food, they also sell soft-serve, matcha from matcha days, and hojicha from kettl. I had the matcha latte with oat milk (they offer oat, macadamia, almond, free of charge), it was just OK. Staffs were helpful. It was a little packed on a Tuesday evening, might need reservation. Would come back and try their other menu.

Food missed expectations, the chicken meatball skewers were probably the best thing along with the Japanese ice dessert (arimatsu?). The lamb legs looked and tasted like airplane food and the ramen was ok.

Very cute and clean vibe at the restaurant. We went for lunch and got some appetizers. Lots of vegetarian friendly appetizers however we thought the two mains (veg ramen and rice bowl) were lacking in protein options (no tofu and egg cost additional). The veg ramen broth was very salty as well. We felt a bit pressured by the waiter who seemed to keep trying to urge us to order more food for the table and dessert even after we let them know we would not like any dessert. For the price we will most likely not be coming back.

I used to love this restaurant when I came here a few years ago, since the food was really good back then. But my most recent visit was an absolute disappointment. The food was shockingly bad. Two different chicken dishes had almost the exact same seasoning, and we had to wait a long time. The ramen was the worst I’ve ever had – I stopped after just one bite.

Service is great but food unfortunately isn't. Got the nanban chicken rice bowl and waited ages for it, and the chicken came out cold and not crispy at all. Food didn't taste authentic Japanese style. Black sesame latte was nice though.

The Ramen really failed my expectation for Ramen. Poor flavored broth, dry meat and cold hard egg… not worth $20+ at all. The chicken rice bowl feels like a bento takeout from hmart, cold and dry, softened fried chicken is a nonono.

It was such a great find! I was looking for something warm and cozy, and this place hit the spot. My coworker and I stumbled across this little gem, and we were pleasantly surprised. The ramen recommendations were spot on, and the service was quick and friendly. We may have come at a less busy time, but everything moved smoothly, and we never had to worry about waiting. Definitely a spot I’d come back to.

Really good food. Good portions, too. But somehow, I was still a bit hungry. The hanger steak was very good; all three condiments for the steaks were good. The crudo was good, but as an entree, it was a bit small. Tried all their desserts. But too bad they don’t have the waffle, and they don’t make the donut anymore.
