Swimming facility
Water & Amusement Parks
The Cumming Aquatic Center is a popular destination in Cumming, offering a range of swimming facilities for visitors. The center boasts an Olympic-sized pool, an instructional pool, and a seasonal outdoor pool with a water park. It's open year-round and features multiple swimming lanes as well as height diving boards for professional divers to practice. In addition to swim lessons for all ages and indoor lane swimming, the center hosts swim team meets and offers competitive swimming services.
Amazing, beautiful pools inside and outside. Make sure you have the schedule it get busy at times. Lily is the BEST instructor ever. My son swam ok but wanted to be a lifeguard. Well within 8 weeks he trained with her and passed his lifeguard text!!!!!! The pools are clean and warm. They have an adult swim too. We paid $8 to swim per day or a family can go for like 78 a month ( not totally sure) We go back and like it. Edit: Back again, Lily is getting our son ready to test for his Red Cross lifeguard certification. Lily is the best instructor ever!
Randi N — Google review
My family enjoys the outdoor pool in the summer. My review is due to the blind spots from the lifeguards' vantage points as well as some of the lifeguards' lack of attention to the pool on the party side of the lazy river. There also should not be 1 lifeguard for the bottom of the slide, lazy river, and deck. It doesn't follow the 10/20 rule.
Chelsea Z — Google review
Nice place to cool off in the summer with kids, 4'8 height requirement to use the slide, lazy river is nice but sometimes it gets crowded, the bathroom is clean, ticketing is a breeze, they take cash and credit card. The staffs and lifeguards are amazing and courteous. Overall a great family hangout, nice price too.Tons of parking, tons of shade.

I was there with our Girl Scout troop. We rented the whole facility for two hours from 7-9p.m. We have done this four years in a row. We have been allowed floats in the pool every year. We also asked if there had been any changes to the rules a month before the event. This year we were not allowed floats. Some of the girls brought floats instead of there life jackets. It was kind of a big deal when trying to entertain 24 little girls. On top of all of that, the jets for the lazy river were not working properly. They had us get out of the water and go to the inside pool an hour after we arrived. Due to thunder. That would have been fine but the chemicals in the indoor pool were so strong that several people had pretty bad reactions. ( burning eyes and faces) The girls work really hard for four months out of the year selling cookies in order to afford their celebration to be held at the aquatic center. I have a feeling we will be rethinking next year's event.
Chad C — Google review
Treated the Girl Scouts troop that came to celebrate their cookie celebration poorly. Was told we could bring floats, but got there and was told we couldn’t. An hour into the event, we were directed to go inside for the rest of the time due to lightening/thunder. All the adults and children who got into their indoor pool ended up having burning eyes and faces due to so many chemicals in the water. A lot of them, debating on having to go to urgent care due to it. I wouldn’t blame them if the leaders of the Girl Scout troops decide to not book anymore events here due to all the miscommunication and lack of sympathy.

I won't be back. It's not worth the time. I went a week ago. It was a nice calm morning, and then 200 kids showed up. The kids didn't bother me. It is great to see them having a good time. The lady with 5 or 6 kids who rudely barged in and took over several chairs in the shade was a negative. Then, later, I watched a kid wipe her snooty nose in the water, that's when I left. I went inside to wash off the sunblock. I couldn't get the shower to be less than scaldingly hot. Y'all are going to burn someone's kid. And what is the story with the shower curtains? Old, damaged, inadequate, barely covering the shower stall, give me a break, buy some shower curtains. This morning, I stood around like a rock, while some lady got a pass for herself and her kid, and a day pass for her sister. I finally left. I just wanted to pay for a daily admission and change my clothes. The place is inefficient and unaware. Thanks for nothing.
Jason F — Google review
Love their swimming program and facilities compared to many others like swim Atlanta. Most coaches are awesome. We had one bad experience with a coach where the coach instead of encouraging kids, kind of threatened the kids when they fell short of the expectations. Other than that, we love this place. Good to see that even competitive swimming also is conducted here now.. You have two options to choose between competitive swimming services providers I only wish their online portal is more user friendly..

We had a fantastic birthday party here today! The pool is always very clean and the lifeguards are super alert. We had a rain delay near the end of the day, but waited it out and had an entire hour at the outdoor pool almost all to ourselves (maybe 30 people total)!

Fairground
The Cumming Fairgrounds offer various amenities and attractions, such as a racing circuit for quarter-canaries, historical villages, and an indoor arena suitable for large gatherings. If fortunate, it is reachable within approximately an hour's drive via GA 400. The fairgrounds also hosted the Holi festival recently, drawing a diverse crowd of Indian and Pakistani individuals who actively participated in the cultural festivities. Attendees experienced inclusivity and enjoyed throwing colored powder at one another while being drenched in vibrant hues.
We have so much fun each year at the fair. There is plenty of parking on all sides of the fairgrounds, and admission is easy and quick.
Jennifer A — Google review
Was a fun fair but seems like alot of rides were shut down so we didn't get to get our money's worth from buying the wristband. Other than that we had a good time.
Katie P — Google review
We recently attended the county fair at the Cumming Fairgrounds, and while it was incredibly busy, we still had a great time. The fair was packed with people, which made parking take over an hour, but once we finally got inside, the lively atmosphere made it worth the wait. The food vendors, games, and entertainment were top-notch, offering plenty of options to enjoy while soaking up the excitement. Although we were only able to ride two rides in five hours due to the long lines, the quality of the rides and the fun we had made it memorable. If you're planning to attend, just be sure to arrive early and bring your patience—it’s a popular event, but definitely a fun one!
Gin J — Google review
Was there for July 4th fireworks. Very good atmosphere with families out celebrating. Options for food and fun all along for kids and adults both. Parking can be an issue. It was fun Al around

Updated: 10-11-2024 did the bbq food. This time we also did the haunted house! A must and the fast passive tickets are worth it no waiting there. Super fun and scary. We love the rides too this time we went earlier and we're able to do more rides. Wayyyyy better to get this tickets than a wrist band. You can use them other days or save for next year if line get too long and you cannot go on too many rides save the tickets the wrist bands are for that day only. Also when going during the day take a jacket so you do not freeze. We will go back next year too. Best time ever. Great food. We ate too much, lol. The rides had long lines, but it was worth it to wait. We loved the pig races. There were several cute shops with local handmade things. We spent 7 hours there and will be back next year.
Randi N — Google review
Our family enjoyed the fair and rodeo, rides and snacks however it was cold and it's falling we'd be more happier if they had a hot drink vendor such as coffee, hot cocoa and hot apple cider and herbal tea choices. Everyone loves all four. I especially love hot apple cider all yr long. There was a family I found lil late that did hot cocoa but noone else did.

Great family fun with everything you'd expect to find at a fair. Ride tickets never expire. Kids 10 and under are free.

I love our town fair! Plenty of rides and really awesome shows throughout the day. Kids especially love the barn animals and there are multiple rides for the youngsters.

School Street's production of Sweeney Todd is superb! The singing, acting, costumes, hair/makeup, sets, lighting, sound, direction - everything is on point! Sweeney is not easy to do - but this troupe handles it expertly! We are so lucky to have a beautiful venue and extensive talent in our neighborhood.
Catarina R — Google review
Please, if you have asthma, COPD or other lung issues, do not go to see Sweeney Todd. At the beginnning, in a totally irrelevant attempt to create atmosphere, they release a lot of smoke from the stage. In that small theater, with poor ventilation, it remains thick in the air, and it doesn't do your lungs any favors.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful culinary experience, look no further than Marie's Italian Deli, Bakery & Market. This charming family-owned establishment is your go-to destination for an array of mouthwatering options, from pizzas and salads to hearty Italian dishes served right from their welcoming counter. Known for their top-notch meats and cheeses, Marie's also boasts a full menu featuring delicious hot and cold subs like the classic Meatball or the flavorful Muffaletta.
I was visiting Cumming and came across this deli online and thought I'd give it a try. What a pleasant surprise. The people behind the counter were extremely friendly and helpful for a first time visitor. The selection was great and when I settled on something, they gave me plenty of options to customize it. And when the sandwich came, it was like a work of art. It was gorgeous and tasted great. I couldn't finish it, so when going back for a to-go box, the guy at the counter remembered my order and asked how it was saying it was the most unique sandwich of the day. I thought that was cool. I told him it was great and I'll definitely be back.

The food was amazing! The kids pizza roll didn't come out cooked completely through but they remade it. So many cakes to choose from and even ice cream. It was hard to choose just one dessert so we got some to go. The ones we had, strawberry love cake, carrot cake and vanilla cupcakes were delicious.

We enjoyed our lunch here today. There was a long line to order but the lady at the register was very pleasant and knew exactly how long it would be before our food arrived at our table. There was plenty of seating. We had the Fat Matt’s Stromboli and a single slice. They were both good. The lady who brought our food out seemed a bit stressed but it was quite busy. We enjoyed our time here and and the food.

Stopped in while vacationing in the area, and the moment you walk in you’re greeted with the smell of incredible food. The menu has so many great options. I went with the Pick 2—Caesar salad and an Italian sub—both were fresh and delicious. My son ordered a calzone and loved it. We couldn’t resist the dessert bar and ended up bringing home a little of everything. Every treat was amazing! You really can’t go wrong with Marie’s. Everything was top notch—highly recommend!

As soon as I walked in today I knew I came to the right place. I was overtaken by a delicious aroma and I could not wait to order. I decided on the Italian sub and the Philly. After ordering it to go, I went into the dessert shop and was immediately impressed. I left with some delicious cannolis, a lava cake and an eclair. After the grueling 45 minute drive home, I showed my husband what I had done and we both devoured our subs. The desserts are all amazing and the next time I am in the area I will visit again.

I celebrated my birthday here with my partner, and it was such a memorable experience! He had done some research for my birthday weekend, and this restaurant was one of his top picks—and I can absolutely see why. When we arrived, our table wasn’t quite ready, so we started at the bar. Todd, the bartender, was incredible—friendly, funny, and made cocktails that were perfectly balanced. He instantly set a welcoming tone for the evening. Once seated, we were lucky to have Max as our server. He was an absolute gem—sweet, polite, and wonderfully attentive. His recommendations were spot on, and his warm energy made my birthday dinner feel extra special. And the food? Simply heavenly! Every bite had our taste buds dancing, and it’s clear the kitchen puts so much care into each dish. We left already planning our return visit. If you’re looking for a place with great food, exceptional service, and an atmosphere that makes you feel celebrated, this is it!

Tam’s Backstage is such a gem! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a historic charm that makes dining here feel special. The menu has a great variety, and everything we tried was cooked to perfection—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The steaks were tender, the seafood was delicious, and the sides paired perfectly. Service was top-notch: attentive without being overbearing, and very friendly. It’s the kind of place that’s perfect for a date night, a family celebration, or just treating yourself to a great meal. Highly recommend Tam’s Backstage for anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience!

I used Tam’s to cater my parents’ 55th Wedding Anniversary and it was a great experience, from my initial interactions with Lisa, the Banquet Manager, to the delivery and setup of the food. The quality of the food was excellent and the quantity was generous -we had leftovers after feeding 25 people. I felt that the cost per person was reasonable, especially considering that it included the utensils, sterno fuel, and stands. I highly recommend considering Tam’s for your catering needs.

A great place for some excellent Italian food. We dined in for lunch and it was wonderful. The breadsticks were soft and wish they were a bit more warm they were brought in less than like warm. The complementary soup of chicken and the vegetarian soup were good to start off with. We did order Alfredo pasta and parmigiana pasta with chicken. Both were delicious, but we did ask for some extra sauce for the Alfredo pasta which was missing. Overall a good experience but wish if couple of things were taken care of, we would have had a better experience.

I found this spot on Google because my husband and I were staying at Belamere Suites which is about a 9 min drive away. I love Italian food so I was excited to try this place. They did NOT disappoint. The atmosphere is very family friendly. Our waitress was FANTASTIC!!! She even did a great job of talking me into getting a dessert which I don't do often. I had cheese tortellini and added sausage and my husband had chicken picatta. Everything was SO good and you get plenty in portion. I highly recommend this spot. It's a great family spot or date night.
Alytia S — Google review
Service was very friendly and mostly attentive, but the food was really disappointing. We always order calamari everywhere we go, but this was really unexpected and unappetizing. As you can see, the calamari isn’t rings and tentacles. It’s huge chunks of octopus body in a cheap, thick, pre-battered breading that slips right off, leaving slippery naked chewy octopus meat in your mouth to muscle through. It is NOT lightly breaded as the menu indicates. And it is completely different than any other calamity I’ve ever had anywhere. The fact that it was covered with a handful of chunked feta and several pepperoncinis and Kalamata olives didn’t improve a completely inedible dish. We each tried one piece of meat before pushing the plate to the edge of the table… and no one seemed to notice we had barely touched it. The breadsticks were fine. Soft and warm and tasty. The Greek salad was pre-bagged iceberg lettuce mix—not much romaine to speak of—with 3 hard grape tomatoes, a chunk of cucumber, lots of shaved red onions, and another handful of feta cheese. I like feta, but this was way too much. The balsamic dressing is sweet. Again, didn’t finish. I ordered chicken piccata, and she got chicken Alfredo. My piccata came in a thick puddle of gluey lemon sauce. The chicken was fork tender but seemed microwaved. Unfortunately the sauce didn’t cling at all to the wet pasta. Her Alfredo had finely chopped chicken buried in the noodles, almost as if intentionally hidden. It tasted very industrial/ commercial. Again, no one asked why we didn’t eat much.

We held my mother's 80th birthday in the private dining room in the back and we could not have been happier. Victoria, the manager and our servers Aiden and Nate were spectactular. They were very accomodating, they didn't say no to anything. We were able to get in a couple of hours early and put up our own EXTENSIVE decorations (tablecloths, chargers, name cards, balloon arch backdrop/projection screen, lots of florals arrangements. etc.). The only restriction was no glitter or confetti, very reasonable expecially since it was the only restriction. We were able to close the beautiful double french doors and block the outside view a backdrop. We were able to adjust the lighting exactly how we wanted it, when we wanted since we had some documentary style videos we projected for the guests intermittantly through the evening. Aiden and Nate pleasantly handled all of our guests requests and were very attentive and responsive with my requests. We knew the food was good having eaten there a few times but everything was served in a timely manner according my schedule. We had about 30 guests and a photographer. I highly recommend this place for a small but fancy event. We felt the price was quite reasonable for what we got. Thank you again, Victoria, Aiden and Nate!!

Our server took great care of us. The atmosphere was warm and cozy. Sadly, our rolls were pretty tough. We asked for another bowl of rolls, and they were good. The salad seemed just a little like it was not as fresh as normal. Just a little wilted. The chicken eggplant was very good.

We got 2 dishes & shared - the Red Snapper & the Shrimp Scampi. The Snapper was delicious. The Scampi was about as bland as toast. Really devoid of any flavor. I make it at home & we both said, Wow, my scampi is so much better. But, as always, everything else was delicious. Never had a complaint, other than this one. Stopped by for lunch with my parents after an ultrasound, and I’m still dreaming about the papaya milkshake—it was absolutely incredible! We also had the tostones, empanadas, and Cuban sandwiches, and everything was packed with flavor. The food, service, and atmosphere were all top-notch. Also the prices were very reasonable. I wish they had a location closer to Buford, but we’ll definitely be back whenever we’re in the area. Highly recommend!

Wow. I wasnt sure about this place @ 1st coming from florida where cuban food is amazing basically anywhere you go but this place gets gold stars. Wow. The rice and chicken is amazing with such good flavor the tostones with chicken as a appitizer was on point. Not to soggy at all. The rice and beans were amazing. I can go down the list. It was great food and great service. If your in Cumming, GA and in the mood for Cuban food. This is it.

Stopped here for lunch and we loved it! We had the steak sandwich with yellow rice and beans. For the appetizers, we had fried yucca and empanadas, which were delicious. We really enjoyed the food and can’t wait to come back. We also didn’t wait very long for our food, which was great! Definitely a great Cuban spot ♥️

Great food! Truly Latin and you feel like you are in Cuba or Puerto Rico with the music and conversations!

Purchased 5 orders of Cuban sandwiches and 5 espressos. The sandwiches were out of this world fresh and had the perfect portions, the black beans and yellow rice were also super fresh and tasty. Prices are incredibly reasonable. The service was outstanding. Called the order in and it took them about 20-30mins to prepare and have ready. Espresso is fantastic. One of the best family owned places I’ve tried in a long time.

Our new car delivery was delayed, so we popped in here for a bite to eat. The roast pork, black beans, and yellow rice were excellent. My wife had the flank steak, which was tasty but very chewy. My only complaint is that the portion size of the beans was inadequate. I'm a long-time Cuban food connoisseur, and this place is a solid spot.

I give a 5-star for the quality of the food. My favorite is the Seafood Mix. (You will love it if you like seafood and creamy sauce.) It does have a long wait time though, this is probably not a good option if you need to get your food quickly. If you're picking up, I recommend ordering 30-40 minutes in advance.

Was hoping that the awards everywhere were a prelude to a delicious meal. However this place was mid honestly. Dry if not stale bread. Barely any meat on my sandwich (1 slice of squished thin steak) and barely any lettuce/ fillings however it still had good flavor to it. rice was decent 5/10 beans: 3/10 Sandwich: 7.6/10 Plate presentation: 7/10 Cleanliness of facility: 10/10 Customer service: 4.5/10
