Hocking Hills Canoe Livery in Logan, Ohio is a popular destination for outdoor water sports enthusiasts of all ages. Nestled along the scenic Hocking River, this adventure outfitter offers canoe and kayak rentals, camping options, and even moonlight or zipline tours. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, it's the perfect spot for kayaking, canoeing, or boating.
We take this trip every year and will always choose your company. Emily was friendly and polite as always. She has amazing customer service skills and goes above and beyond. Charlie is so fun and energetic and makes the trip on the bus almost as great as the river trip itself. The guys at the launch point are also friendly and kind and make sure our whole group is safely both at launch and landing. The river was high and so much fun this year. For once, none of us was stuck or flipped so I guess we are becoming better boaters as well. We will be back again next year and would recommend Fox's Canoe Livery to anyone from beginner to expert boater.

We went during the week in the fall and it was not crowded at all. We were nearly the only people on the water. It was so peaceful! We saw lots of fish and even an orange carp! We saw an Osprey dive down in front of us twice and grab fish. It was awesome. A wonderful trip. The people who run this place are top notch. They are super friendly and really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The owner Aaron is wonderful. The love and passion he has for this business is infectious. Highly recommend this place!

The entire experience was fantastic. Online registration was easy. Starting location was clearly identified. I paid online, so upon arrival, check-in was very easy. The gentleman that took us to our drop-in site was very nice and provided us with local knowledge of the area and the river. He was waiting for us at our exit point and assisted with getting off the river. The kayaks we used were in good condition and perfect for the trip. We had a great experience. The river is beautiful.

It was our first time canoeing with this Company and they couldn't have been nicer. We had to push back our reservation time and Erin was very polite and helpful on the phone. The gentleman who drove us and dropped us off at the river was friendly and helpful. When we arrived at the end of our 5 mile trip, the staff waiting at the end were welcoming and friendly as well. We had a great time! The weather was beautiful and everyone there was so nice! We will definitely be going back.

From start to finish the nicest people to talk to here! We had a blast for a lil' father-daughter trip out on the water! Thanks to everyone that helped us out today. Aaron, you and your wife have got a great thing goin'! Keep puttin out those good vibes! 🤘🏻😎 10/10 highly recommend!

This was our first time here! We did the 5 mile trip in single kayaks. It was beautiful! The location is great and the service was top notch! Great parking, restrooms to change in, snacks and souvenirs! We will be back! Oh, and Aaron was our driver to the put in spot and he was great! Friendly and gave us great suggestions for things to check out in the area!

My son and I took the 5 mile trip and had a fantastic time! The staff was great! Very friendly and professional. We especially enjoyed chatting with Aaron on our drive to begin our kayak trip and we look forward to visiting the petting zoo he and his wife own and operate. I highly recommend Hocking Hills Canoe Livery for your next water adventure in hocking hills!

We are beginning kayakers and the 5 Mile trip was perfect for us (it took a couple of hours). They helped push your kayak in the water, so getting in and out of the kayak was no problem. We rode a bus down the river and paddled back to where we were parked. The only negative thing was that we got stuck a few times because the water level was so low, but that is not liveries fault. My husband just got out and pushed us to deeper water, so definitely wear shoes that can get wet. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We were also delighted to see that the bathrooms were large enough to change in, and they had showers. Before the trip we were worried about tipping over, but there was really no chance of that because of the shallowness. They told us we could take until 7:00 p.m. that day if we wanted to (we started at 10:30 am), so you could really make a day of it, and get out on some of the sandbars. I'd recommend bringing extra drink, because I was wishing I had more with me. Overall, definitely worth the money. I would do it again!

Located in Logan, the Paul A. Johnson Pencil Sharpener Museum is a unique and fascinating attraction that showcases an impressive collection of over 3,400 pencil sharpeners from various styles, decades, and eras. Owned by journalist Paul A. Johnson for more than 20 years, the museum offers a colorful display of pencil sharpeners and provides an interesting look into the history of these everyday objects.
What a cute little addition to the Hocking Hills welcome center. Go in if you are there. You can read about it in a brochure and the lady in the welcome center told us about it. She also gave my kids a paper with a scavenger hunt. They filled it out and got to choose an pencil sharpener for themselves. Definitely a nice road side attraction. It's free to get in.
Pia B — Google review
Such a cool place! Went down memory lane as I did the search and find game they have available! My grandma used to collect the little metal pencil sharpener! Free to the public! Has air conditioning for a quick cool down! The welcome center is next door with lots of information about the park and trails.
Teia B — Google review
Pretty cool spot. Definitely worth a quick stop. I saw the car pencil sharpener that i use to play with at my grandfather's house. This collection is impressive.
Justin H — Google review
The pencil sharpener museum was worth the stop on a day that the rain prohibited hiking. Stop in at the welcome center first to get your scavenger hunt list. A prize is given to those who complete it.

We're visiting from NY and decided to stop by here. It's a cute little building, definitely interesting to see it. I love seeing all the little random things while you travel.
Austin C — Google review
Great collection of pencil sharpeners from the past and present. When my sister in law suggested we visit the museum I was skeptical… but the place gives the food for a curious mind (as well as the realization that materials that were used in the past (metal, wood, etc.) are so much more appealing that cheap plastic 😏.
CompetentCrew — Google review
This is a cute museum next to the welcome center. With tons of unique pencil sharpeners that will fascinate people of all ages.
Amanda S — Google review
A cool place to stop by if you're on the road. It isn't really a destination to plan a trip around, but it's got a lot of great tourist information about the surrounding area, helpful staff and clean facilities. The museum itself is about the size of a large shed. It unlocks a bit of nostalgia for the middle aged set and it can distract young ones for maybe 20-30 minutes. The visitors center a few feet away from it is actually more impressive than the museum itself. Best of all it's all free, including kids educational activities and materials. It's worth a stop.

We had the absolute pleasure of having Cathy as our bus driver for a recent trip to our canoeing site, and I cannot recommend her highly enough! From the moment we boarded the bus, Cathy greeted everyone with a warm, genuine smile and a friendly attitude that immediately set a positive tone for the day. Her professionalism was evident from the start—she was punctual, organized, and clearly committed to making our journey safe and smooth. The drive itself was nothing short of excellent. Cathy navigated the route with confidence and skill, handling every turn and stretch of road with care. Even when we encountered a few tight spots along the way, her calm demeanor and expert driving made everyone feel secure and relaxed. What stood out most, however, was her personal touch. Cathy didn’t just drive us—she became part of the experience. She shared a few local stories along the way, kept the mood light with her sense of humor, and made sure everyone was comfortable and ready for our adventure. Her positive energy was truly infectious! Cathy is not just a driver—she’s a team player, a professional, and someone who genuinely cares about the people she’s transporting. We’re so grateful she was part of our trip and hope we get to ride with her again in the future. Thank you, Cathy, for going above and beyond!

Such a great experience! Cathy the bus driver was an absolute joy! Evan joined and helped us get in the kayaks. Even the ladies inside were super nice. They were very patient with the other families and kids. I did the 7 mile and it was about 3-3.5 hours worth of kayaking and a good workout. Gorgeous scenery and knowing the river never got too deep was super reassuring even though there are points you could get stuck.

This campsite was great! Far off of the main drag enough to not hear any traffic. There were only about 5 camp sites, spaced well enough for some privacy. Plenty of fallen trees, so bring a hatchet if you like cutting your own firewood. There was no grate or stove on the fire pit, so bring something if you plan to cook. Friendly staff and clean 24/7 bathroom + shower access, 5 minute walk from campsite.

Our party of four (3-Seniors & 1-Adult) had an awesome afternoon kayaking the Hocking River. Online reservation of our 2-single kayaks, and 1-tandem kayak was a breeze. Check-in & equipment selection (paddles & life jackets) was straightforward. Our driver & launch associate was knowledgeable and helpful. This was our first time experiencing this type of adventure so we had little knowledge of the route, duration, or subtleties of the river. Due to low water levels and slow flow, it took us a bit longer to complete the 7-mile journey & we had to portage our kayaks through some low spots. For newbies I’d suggest a shorter excursion and / or a day when river flow is swifter and water levels are higher. All in all it was a fun & memorable event for all of us.

Shane and his crew were fantastic . Top notch hospitality and service . The camp sites are beautiful and spacious . Hot showers and flushable toilets on the property. They are tucked back in nature yet they are conveniently located close to all the awesome stuff hocking hills has to offer .

We had a group of 22 from Hallsville Community Church. From start to finish everything was great! The front desk girl were awesome. The bus driver Cathy was very knowledgeable about the river and very entertaining. River and Lane were very helpful in getting all of our boats ready to launch everyone. Thank you!

We had the best time doing the ATV trails! It was super last minute and I can’t say enough good things about this place! Nestled in beautiful Hocking Hills. I thought that doing a guided tour wouldn’t be as much fun as a non guided but boy was I wrong! The guide makes the tour that much more fun and you feel a lot safer being with someone who knows the roads like the back of their hand! Cowboy was wonderful and a true joy! A wonderful young man that’s definitely going places! Check it out yall! You won’t be disappointed.

Great time riding the UTVS! Awesome trails and if you want to get muddy, dirty, and have a REAL experience, you’ll get THAT here!! Don’t be skeptical of a guided tour, the tour guides ensure you have the best experience with the knowledge and experience of the location. First time trying this and loved it. Will definitely be back again and would recommend it to others! I only see this place continuing to improve with the enthusiasm I saw from the staff. If I had to put any cons it would be a wash station, they do have a water source to rinse off to an Extent but something to rinse your entire body easily would be nice.

Unnerving Experience Google says this place is open 24/7, we arrived at 10:30am on Tuesday 4/23 and found a location that appeared to be in a state of disrepair. We couldn’t call from our location but had seen an online reservation for 10:30 that morning, so expected staff to be around. Broken buildings, tractors and side by sides were scattered around. We walked into the dusty office and there was no one in sight and no one answered my hellos. We felt unsettled and quickly scurried back to the car without seeing anyone. We will not be attempting a second visit.

**DONT BE DISCOURAGED BY THE INITIAL IMPRESSION OF THE PROPERTY** We have been at our cabin in hocking the entire week, and for my boyfriend's birthday we decided to book an ATV/SxS tour here! It was a great decision. Our tour guides (one was in training, the other described it as his second tour since coming back to the establishment from a break), were incredible! Just a couple of down to earth country boys who knew what they were doing and put our safety first. They were very knowledgeable of the property and were just terrific, all around. The tour was so entertaining and fun that we can't stop talking about it nearly three hours after leaving. We were a bit queasy when arriving, because of the strange layout of the property and parking lots, with half built buildings and not a very well put together layout of the place. We were quite worried that we had been ripped off, until we went in the office and began the tour! It was an amazing time. I highly suggest the owners fix up the initial impression of the place, because if they do, this place will be booming. Our tour guide mentioned that they're building a stage for musical performances, and a bar up the hill (as well as a new ropes course)! I hope they are able to get the funds for these projects, because you could spend a lot of time and have an even better experience if they were finished! Take it from us, you will not regret booking a tour here. It is worth the money tenfold. I hope they have enough business so we can return next year!

Had a great time, we rode the ATVs through the mud right after it rained!! Mark and his coworker were our guide's and they were absolutely amazing and very patient!! We asked for mud and they gave it to us!! Made our day!! Next time we're there we'll be sure to do it again!! Well worth the money!! Thanks so much to all of you!!

My Husband & I had a BLAST here! We originally booked the atv trails but after there we became interested in taking the slingshot out instead. The employee taking care of us on Saturday afternoon July 24th 2021 was so friendly and nice and didn’t bat an eye when we inquired about switching. Actually every single employee that we encountered that day was amazing and got us pumped up for our ride. The slingshot was so much FUN! We just went up and down all the main & back roads enjoying all the scenery. It was easy to drive and we felt safe in it. We wished we would have booked it for longer we were having so much fun! This place is really special from the employees to all the attractions they offer, it’s just an all around amazing place!

Went here with some buddies for my brothers bachelor party. We rented the paintball courses for our group. Was an amazing time. Pricing included all gear as well as the time on the course. For newbies like all of us this was the way to go. There was a ton of other stuff to check out at the park. I would highly recommend if you are in the area to stop by and check it out. Also, bring extra clothes because you will get muddy.

Awesome place. We did a 2-person side by side. We were guided by the owner the entire time. We had never done it before and he started us out slow and worked us up to the more difficult trails. We had a great time. Will definitely be going back. Great people.

Columbus Washboard Company, established in 1885, is a renowned company that offers a wide selection of antique washboards and vintage laundry products. The company has produced over 1.2 million dashboards and specializes in unique designs. Visitors can also find Appalachian souvenirs and handmade crafts at the museum, including clay wind chimes and aprons.
We came for the ice cream and stayed for the washboard museum. The staff was great! Super friendly and chatty. We all ordered ice cream and then viewed the antique washboards. The woman scooping ice cream gave us a bunch of trivia about washboards and why glass was used, various era information, and that they are the last manufacturer of these devices. They still make both functional washboard equipment and musical washboards.
Bill M — Google review
Came to check it out to be able to share about it in social media and my website. Wanted to take a tour and offered to pay for the minimum number needed (we had a party of 2) and needed 2 more. The worker said no. She was unfriendly to start with and seemed bothered when we made our purchase of local products. The store its self has a lot of washboards and you can see the second largest one in the world. Not a ton to see there if you can't do a tour.
Cindy G — Google review
There wasn’t much to see. When asking about the business and the tours that are offered, the associate at Shorty’s ice cream was hesitant about giving me information and told me times that were different from the ones listed online. They very well could’ve changed! However, there was nothing to exciting. They did have a sample lotion that was great, but other than that nothing.

A Washboard Company???... This slice of Americana has it's roots steadfast in what should be a bygone era. In an age of high tech washing machines and other devices to make our lives easier, this low tech device has still got some tricks up the sleeves that it's getting clean by hand. Not only are washboards still having a use in our society, but are finding new revival in popularity, with more unique uses. Keeping the old adage "Necessity is the mother of invention", Columbus Washboard is holding it's own, reinventing itself for a new generation. Whether it's getting that stain out of something you just don't trust in a washer, or helping a soldier keep his uniform clean while in the field, one of these washboards can do the trick. They even have washboards for someone yearning for memories of a simpler time or want to play in a band. (By the way Logan, Ohio is home to a Musical Washboard Festival every July.) Last, but not least, they have the World's Largest and 2nd Largest Washboards displayed at the factory. That, and some of the most wonderful people making these one of a kind marvels should be reason enough to come see them; take the tour; and purchase one, if not more of these laundry marvels.

I must say we did not expect to stumble upon this place, but are very glad we did! We walked in for the ice cream then saw a group of folks playing washboards as musical instruments in the back. If you're looking for a truly one-of-a-kind place, this is it. The employees were very helpful in educating us and they sell a wide variety of local products. Worth a stop if you're in the Hocking Hills area!

Delightful coconut avalanche ice cream. They even shipped washboards to Tanzania and all over the world!!! A great cultural experience in Americana: kazoo's, canjo's, and salves!!!

I have wanted to go for several years, finally made a visit during the annual Washboard Arts and Music Festival. Both the festival and "factory" are underwhelming. Glad I went but wish I had gone to see the older factory down the street- still there and worth seeing the largest washboard mounted on the outside wall. The present "factory" is more touristy with an ice cream shop and other items in the front and the washboards are assembled in the back. Worth a visit if you are in the Hocking Hills and have time away from hiking. The downtown Logan area is a nice old style small downtown with shops and restaurants.
Chris G — Google review
I have been working on emergency preparedness and wanted a few high-quality washboards for that purpose. I did some Internet searches and watched some YouTube info and found that this brand had good reviews. I have been happy with my washboards (I bought a glass family size and a pail size). Turns out I am using my boards besides just having on-hand for emergencies, like focusing on stains and caked-in dirt. I can't believe how good these boards are at getting out stains that not even my washing machine and pre-treatment could get out. I also bought the Grandma's stain stick they sell. It's a very small bar of soap. But since I just plan to use it for concentrated areas, I think it will last a good while. I also appreciate their customer service. I had a question about my boards and they were very helpful and quick to respond.

Millstone Southern Smoked BBQ is a laid-back eatery that offers authentic Southern-style barbecue with a vibrant atmosphere. Their meats are smoked on-site for 15-17 hours, resulting in a crispy exterior and tender, moist texture. The service is efficient and friendly, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Customers rave about the mouthwatering ribs that effortlessly slide off the bone and the delectable pulled pork that stands out as some of the best they've ever had.
They brought out delicious Cornbread Muffins to get us started. We also ordered the Carolina Pork Roll as an appetizer. A great choice! For my meal, I chose the Texas Trio. They were very tasty. My wife tried a Salted Caramel Mudslide. She really liked it. We've eaten here before and will definitely go back.

This is my second time coming here now and I am even more impressed this time than I was the last. Our waitress Sherry was so fun and attentive. She made the entire experience more fun and had some excellent drink recommendations. Our group tried a few different drinks and also got the sampler and fried green beans for appetizers which were fantastic. I got the meat sampler and my wife got a smoked chicken salad. The other members of the group got brisket and a macaroni bowl and we all were very happy with our food, although we took most of it home after enjoying the appetizers. This will always be a stop for us any time we come to the area!

Our waitress was amazing! Food does not disappoint. We split a meat platter and added mac n cheese and beans. Their mini cornbread muffins are a nice touch. Ribs fall off the bone, turkey is delicious, chicken was seasoned to perfection. The sausage adds a nice touch with a texture completely different then the redt of the meat. Dont forget to add some wings, beautiful sticky with sauce, divinely smoked and packed with flavor.

The atmosphere was nice and laid back. The service was quick. The food was very good. Too many times I've had ho hum bbq but not here. We had the bacon wrapped brisket and the sampler platter. The bacon wrapped brisket was excellent and the sauces they have just add to it. The platter was chicken, turkey, brisket, and sausage. The sausage was a stand out for me and my wife. Everything had enough of a different flavor that you didn't get bored of it. I will say the mac n cheese was a bit lacking but you cant win them all.

This place is always a must for us anytime we are visiting the area. The foid is perfectly smoking, it compliments the meat, it doesn't over power it. The salads of fresh, the fried foods are crispy. The portions are big enough to share. My favorite is the potato salad. No one has anything close to it.

Promptly seated by friendly host. We all enjoyed the mini cornbread muffins. Very tasty. We had the deep fried pickles to start. Kids had grilled cheese & large fries' portion. Adults enjoyed the mac n cheese with bacon and brisket and the Texas brisket. Attentive server and friendly.

We come to Millstone every time we are staying in the Hocking Hills area and its always a hit. To start- we love the complimentary corn bread muffins. They have a large menu with many options but I always go for the grilled shrimp dinner which is seasoned to perfection, and comes with a baked potato and another side. My boyfriend usually orders some kind of sandwich, but pictured is the Smokehouse Burger. They have a good drink selection as well. We will definitely be returning, as we have many times and would recommend it if you are visiting Hocking Hills.
Noella T — Google review
This past weekend, my wife and I headed to Hocking Hills for some well-deserved R&R. On the way to our cabin, we spotted a BBQ restaurant we remembered fondly from about five years ago. Naturally, we were excited to stop in for lunch and relive the experience. Unfortunately, time hasn’t been kind to this place. While we knew we were visiting during lunch hours and not dinner, we still expected the same quality of food — especially when it comes to barbecue. Instead, what we got was reheated meat that tasted dry and lacked the smoky, fresh flavor we remembered. Honestly, reheated meat just isn’t acceptable for a place that prides itself on BBQ. The corn muffins were overly sweet — more like dessert than a side — which didn’t help balance out the meal. On a positive note, the onion straws were delicious, perfectly crispy and well-seasoned. But sadly, they weren’t enough to justify another visit. It’s disappointing when a once-great spot misses the mark. Here’s hoping they can get back to the quality they once had.

Pizza Crossing in Logan, OH is a casual eatery known for its delicious pizzas, subs, pastas, and appetizers. It's the perfect spot to grab a quick meal after a day of exploring Hocking Hills. Customers can also enjoy chicken wings, house salads, and pasta dishes. The restaurant offers efficient service with easy online menu access and quick phone orders.
I was recommended this way on a visit to Hocking Hills. This is easily among some of the best pizza I've had. The server had a slight hiccup with the system defaulting to a Large when I ordered a small but she fixed it so I was billed only what I ordered. The server, Nicole, was attentive, friendly, and easy to communicate with. The pizza though. Thin crust is apparently the standard here, and while I prefer a thicker crust, it was phenomenally well cooked through. The toppings were literally edge to edge so dense I could barely see the cheese in some spots! If you're in the area they're worth the stop for some good pizza and boneless wings.
Andrew B — Google review
Very good pizza and the service was very accommodating. I had read another review that they talked about the garlic bread sticks were actually hot dog buns. You see them in my picture but I'll tell you what, they tasted delicious! My apologies for misidentifying the bread. Regardless, they were very yummy and I'd order again!

Had an amazing time here. The Pizza was absolutely delicious. Everybody basically got their own Pizza. I got the all the way Pizza very very good. My son got a basic pepperoni. My daughter's friend got a small mini Cheese Pizza, my nephew, got a 1/2 pepperoni, half Buffalo chicken. Wife got a steak hogie and my daughter had the spaghetti. We all left full and had left overs for late that night. The atmosphere was so nice. Service was great.

We found this place while staying nearby in the woods over a weekend. We sat at the bar, as we always do. We had planned to order a pizza to go, but after a few minutes, my wife wanted to stay. The staff are all super friendly and the pizza absolutely top notch. The thin crust is fantastic, they cook it until it just starts to get crisp at the edges, just perfect. We will for sure drop in again if ever we are in the vicinity.

For being a local place it was pretty good. It's a little pricey compared to other places. We enjoyed it and it saved our camping trip since we got flooded at our campsite. It was pretty quick to get from the time of placing our order. The only downside is they don't allow dogs inside, so we just ordered and took it back to our campsite. I am aware dogs not going inside but lots of places allow them in the outside patio, that is what I was referring too. We still enjoyed the pizza.

Classic sit down pizza place but with…BIGFOOT. My partner and I were craving pizza and wanted to go to a family owned small joint in the area to really soak up the small town energy, and this place. Pizza Crossing Logan was the way to go. The service was fast and amazing, the food was DELICIOUS. And the servers were kind and speedy. We got half of a Bigfoot pizza and half a chicken Alfredo. The combo was divine

Unlike many buffet-style restaurants, Olde Dutch takes pride in serving freshly made dishes rather than using premade or powdered products. The fried chicken is crispy and non-greasy, the roast beef is moist and flavorful, and all the vegetables are fresh and perfectly cooked.
One of my favorite gems in Ohio to swing by with friends and family. Enjoy the BUFFET which includes a variety of home cooked foods like stuffing, broccoli cheddar bake, sweet potato casserole, baked fish, roast beef, giant fries chicken pieces, green bean casserole, and all the dishes you’d find at a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Your buffet experience includes a robust salad bar, choice of several soups like enchilada soup, potato soup, and beef stew (all three were decision!) and a full lineup of pies! For a $1.99 extra, they’ll even throw a scoop of ice cream on top upon request. The perfect spot for a large or small group, or even a solo lunch or dinner, family-friendly atmosphere, very clean (they even provide hand sanitizer and gloves next to the food), cute gift shop, conveniently located right off the freeway after some good hiking in Hocking County or looking for antique treasures next door, or between Sunday church and grocery shopping at Weavers Market or Walmart across the street. Special shoutout to our amazing server Kayleigh. Her smile is like sunshine and made us feel welcome even before I knew she was taking care of us. Sorry boys, I asked, and she’s already taken :)

Food was hot and awesome but the buffet had a lot mess and someone needs to be wiping it off more regularly. The chicken noodles were good but real egg noodles would've made it better. The rolls were perfection. Can definitely tell the chicken is breaded on site, some bearly had any breading, bas juicy and delicious. On a Saturday at 1pm the place was packed. Only saw one empty table when we got seated. Sam our waitress was very friendly and removed the plates quickly.

This is one of my favorite spots in Ohio. The buffet is a must have with several different options. All of the options are equally delicious and tasty. I’ve never had any bad food or bad experience anytime I visited. Dessert is included with the buffet. There’s several cute shops and activities nearby so after you’re done eating, you can go and do something fun to burn off all those calories from the buffet, lol. I definitely think it’s worth the trip to visit and everyone is so friendly and nice.

I was brought here by some friends who live local. I could tell it seems to be a local favorite, but I have to be honest I wasn’t super impressed. They were disorganized at the welcome desk, took names for waiting and then just took people in without waiting… there was three of us and the girl brought two placemats and tried to sit us at a table for two…. Our waitress was nice and very friendly. So I would say she was the best part of the deal. I got the buffet. The salad bar was good, but the regular food was not as good as I thought it would have been. The restaurant was cute and had a cute gift shop. And was very busy. So it just might not have been my thing.

Food was good, $17.49 buffet. They kept it stocked. Rolls were great! Brussel sprouts delicious! Pies were cold and nasty! Not homemade, the blueberry pie was disgusting! Bathroom had pee all over the seat! It smelled like urine in the bathroom :(

My wife and I decided to stop by once again since we hadn't been here for years. It really hasn't changed much. You have either the choice of the buffet or order individually from the menu. We chose to just order from the menu. The service was great, my wife enjoyed her grilled chicken, and I had ordered the three piece boasted chicken. I didn't really care much for the boasted chicken as one piece was a small wing, a back, and a large breast. It wasn't the best chicken I've had, and would not order it again. We aren't planning on returning as we both felt there are better options.

Bar
Hungry Buffalo is a laid-back spot offering American eats and craft draft beer, along with an ax-throwing game. The Santa Fe eggrolls and French fries were standout items, while the Monte Cristo was a bit oily but served with a necessary berry jam. Despite some mixed reviews on food freshness and portion sizes, many patrons praised the delicious bison burger and bison chili. The service received high praise, with Lacie being particularly mentioned for her great service.
We went for the first time as a family of 4 on a Saturday late afternoon. There was a 25 minute wait for our table, shopped around in the gift shop while we waited. Service was pretty fast, portions were larger than I expected (which was great) and all four of us loved our food. Pictured is the bacon burger and chicken with onions, rice and mushrooms. Great place and will go back!

Atmosphere was nice, cool patio and a playing area for kids! We sat at the little outdoor bar and watched the Buckeyes. Perhaps consider adding a larger tv and a few more. Our service was fine, now the folks next to us, Nachos took some time! 🙄Fried green tomatoes, two bites of greasy thick batter, just say no. Boneless wings were comparative to Tyson any’tizers except for the cost 🤪Burned Bison burger with added liquid smoked flavored, maybe it was Charbroiled idk…. just not our favorite. Blue moon on tap saved the day!

We had Mini Corn Dog Nuggets and Pickle Chips for appetizers. Both were very good. I had the Buffalo Meatloaf, which was also very good. My wife and two of our friends had mixed drinks. They all felt that the drinks were pretty weak.

Don't waste your time or money. I'd guess this restaurant is only still open because of all the Hocking Hills tourist. Horrible service & terrible food. It was a week night so they weren't even busy. The fried green tomatoes were good tho.

The restaurant offers a convenient location but an unremarkable atmosphere. I ordered the Monte Cristo with sweet potato fries; while the sandwich was flavorful, its richness made it feel more appropriate as an appetizer to share rather than a full entrée, and I was unable to finish it. Although our server was friendly, the level of attentiveness left much to be desired. Additionally, while it does not impact my overall rating, I did notice what appeared to be very young children bussing tables, which was surprising. Overall, given the experience, I would likely choose not to return if presented with other options in the area.

Our party of 5 had our minor expectations met but the quality of the food was at or below average. First thing that I saw on the menu were the “huge” fried cheese curds, so it was immediately intriguing. The only thing immediate about these curds was utter disappointment. The curds were average sized at best and cold in the middle. The rest of the food was delivered as ordered and what one would expect in rural Ohio. Steak was tender and flavorful and accompanied the baked potato well.

Service was quick. Staff friendly. Food is just okay. Not worth the price we paid. I had a ribeye with baked potato but they were a little cold. Potato not fully cooked. Husband had shrimp Alfredo. Said it was good but the left the shrimp tails on. General store was a joke. I would skip this place.

We were told it would be around 20 minutes to be sat, It took around an hour to get a table. The food was awful, I think Applebee's would have been better. Our appetizer had the nachos which was pretty much just chips with microwaved chips and cheese with a little bit of tomato and steak over it (we ordered chicken) the other things on the appetizer plate was just GFS food with no flavor. My sirloin tips were rubber and again with almost no flavor. My husband's burger had so much filling in it the texture was awful. The only good thing was our server.

Hocking Hills Diner is a charming and clean restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere. The staff is friendly, attentive, and the service is excellent. The menu offers a nice selection of delicious breakfast options, including Eggs Benedict and classic breakfast items like eggs, bacon, and toast. The food is served quickly and cooked to perfection. Customers have praised the fluffy poached eggs with creamy hollandaise sauce as well as the flavorful bacon and well-buttered toast.
The food was really good comfort food! I had the buffet and my husband had the fried haddock, both were great! The service was quick and friendly. The food came out quick with no issues. It’s fairly close to hocking hills!

Food was horrible. We ordered from the menu, not from the buffet, hoping to get freshly cooked food. Scrambled eggs were cold and crumbly; oatmeal extremely over cooked. Bacon cold and burnt. I wonder if they walked over to the buffet and got the food from there. I mentioned the food was bad at the checkout. Folks were unpleasant. No offer to reduce price. Pretty expensive for the amount of food.

Delicious, appetizing, and large portions. Nice wait staff, but kept forgetting to return with our minor requests, e.g., refill coffee, creamers, napkins, to-go boxes. Not too busy, just not attentive.

I would not even be leaving a 1 star if I had that choice. Walked in, was greeted very rudely. Was told to put my name & number on the list and a 20 minute wait. Waited over 40 minutes to have someone that just walked in get seated before me. I should’ve trusted everyone else walking out in the same manor as me knowing how horrid of a business this is. Had 5 workers just standing, talking when confronted looking like my husband and I didn’t exist and told we didn’t check in. The food looked mediocre at best, burnt and unappealing. Drove over 4 hours for hocking hills and figured a nice, cute diner would be the place to eat but it was dirty and run down. I recommend not wasting your money(or time) here. Decided to leave and go to Old Dutch down the road. Should’ve started with them; good food, homelike feel & a ton of better service.

We waited 50+ minutes for pancakes and an omelet. Then, instead of my pancakes, they brought out French toast. It was not extremely busy. Wasn't even cheap for a diner. Sausage links were tough, hashbrowns were slightly overcooked. Cheese omelet had un-melted cheese. They did acknowledge the wait and mistakes and made it right.

A beautiful little small town diner! Great food and service. The atmosphere was what you would expect at a small town diner. Friendly staff and customers. The food was delicious and made promptly. The prices were good as well.

The atmosphere was great and they have homemade items for sell. All the food looked great and everyone was super friendly. There's a couple complaints I have. My husband and I ordered the steak and eggs. I ordered mine medium well and he ordered his well done. Both came out bloody. My granddaughter ordered chocolate chip pancakes and they were just plain. Other than that everything was really good. I would definitely go back.
