The Red Barn is a charming roadside eatery in Maine that offers a simple yet delightful dining experience. Known for its delectable lobster rolls, including the indulgent Crustacean Elation with up to three pounds of lobster meat, this local favorite also serves fantastic fried chicken. While it's only open seasonally until April, it's well worth the wait. The restaurant is beloved by locals and visitors alike for its mouthwatering seafood dishes and hearty soups.
Wow what a great place! Fun atmosphere and delicious food! Cold when we were there but I bet in the warm weather it is crazy busy. The portions are huge so don't let the cost scare you. Great food and just a super neat place!

Absolutely fabulous place. If you're anywhere near the Augusta area, and you want a lobster roll, come here. They do them Maine, or New England style. I got mine NE style, warm with butter, and it had the meat of about 5 or 6 full lobster claws in it. The seafood stew is fantastic as well. Staff is great, food is fresh, service is fast, prices are good.

Amazing little restaurant tucked near 95. We stopped here for a quick lunch on a Saturday on our way home from Acadia. We had lobster rolls, both plain (just served with lobster meat and side of butter) and cold with mayo. For $20 each, you can’t beat this when the prices elsewhere are so much higher! Best of all, the rolls had big, fresh chunks of lobster… well worth it and delicious! We also had an “appetizer” size of clamstrips which was huge, and the “snack” size chicken nuggets (also big enough for a meal and then some). Highly recommend stopping in if you can!

Such a nice local place with delicious food and great people. It has a very "cliche" American vibe with country music, interior, local people and huge portions. Food was great and sauces are free, just ask. There are two rooms inside and plenty of space outside. So far, it's the best fastfood restaurant I've been to.

We stopped at Red Barn as a rest stop during our drive from Bar Harbor to Boston, and we’re so glad we did! Ordering online was super easy, and our food was ready right when we arrived. The atmosphere was wonderful—casual, welcoming, and full of charm—with plenty of seating options both inside and out. The weather was beautiful, so we enjoyed our meal outside under an umbrella. The lobster roll was absolutely fantastic—fresh, perfectly seasoned, and simply delicious. You could really taste the quality and care that went into it. We especially loved how the owners honor both veterans and fur babies—it really speaks to the heart of the place. We originally found Red Barn through a quick Google search for places near Augusta, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. The service was great, the food was top-notch, and the experience exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re in the area!

Red Barn was awesome. The clamp straps out of this world, lobster roll the great!! What more can I say, great service, great atmosphere, great food. I'm an out of towner, but I wish I was a local so I could eat there every day.

Good spot for decent food. The "clean" lobster roll was tasty. A bit smaller than expected but sufficient. The "pint" fried seafood sampler - clams, scallops, haddock, and shrimp - was good. Plenty of food in the sampler for probably two people.

If I lived locally, I would eat here daily. Great portions. Lobster roll was top notch. Onion rings delicious.

Event venue
The Augusta Civic Center is an expansive venue covering nearly 50,000 square feet, with a grand room spanning 32,000 square feet and two elegant ballrooms. The center offers adaptability for various functions and events. Situated atop Weston's Hill, it overlooks Capitol Park and the Maine State House, which was completed in 1832 using Maine granite. The design emulates the Massachusetts State Capitol Building.
Sew much fun to attend the recent quilt show at the civic center. Many beautiful quilt with artistic flair. Fabric, patterns, machines and supplies.

I’ve been to the Augusta Civic Center several times, and it’s always a great experience. The layout is very universal, which makes it easy to navigate no matter what type of event is happening. Whether it’s a show, conference, or community event, the space works well and feels well organized. Always a reliable venue!

I have attended many events here.. from training seminars to expos, to the circus and concerts. I’ve also been involved in holding events here as well. Very clean facility. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. Facility offers many options and opportunities. Parking is plenty and free for attendees. If I could make one recommendation for the facility it would be to add changing stations to the men’s bathrooms.
Dawn N — Google review
I was a vendor at the Odd & Unusual show and was so amazed with this venue! Everything was CLEAN, even the bathrooms were spotless and stocked all weekend which was nice because a lot of times bathrooms get messy quickly with SO many people. Event staff was friendly and super helpful, it was easy and affordable to rent tables and they had several size options. Parking was ample and easy. Could not recommend this venue enough, it was so great!

As a vendor at the Odd & Unusual event put on by Hillbilly Furniture and Furs and Old Soul Collective- the civic center couldn’t have been a better place to have a booth. Set up was so convenient with tables available to use, easy access to the event space, great parking, literally everything was laid out perfectly. Thank you guys!

Natural History Museums
The Maine State Museum offers a captivating journey through the state's cultural and natural history. Established in 1836, it has faced several closures before reopening for good in 1971 with state funding to ensure its continued operation. The museum features exhibits on Maine's history and wildlife, with regularly changing displays on the third floor. Visitors can also explore the nearby State House for more animal dioramas.
This museum is centered all around Maine people and history there. Several rooms filled with items that highlight Maine in the past. We loved it there. Undergoing renovations now, I can't wait to see it again when the time comes to reopen. Hopefully, it will be soon!

It is definitely the best value for the money of any museum I've ever been to. So many great exhibits to browse through. Fun for all age groups and interests. Multiple floors but easy to maneuver and get around. Nice little gift shop attached to it and very friendly staff throughout making it a wonderful overall experience.

Love this museum. I hope it reopens soon. Came here as a child with my grandmother and have returned many times as an adult. It's one of my favorite rainy day outings for a change of pace. I particularly enjoy the First Nations artifacts and stone tools. This is a great place for adults and kids. Large free parking lot. You can skip down the road to Hallowell for a selection of great restaurants and shops to complete the trip.

Went here on a goof because we had several hours to kill before an event and it was only $3 - all I can say is WOW!!!!!! This museum is fabulous!!!!! 4 floors of amazing displays, exhibits, hands on fun, history! Lots of great photo ops too. You MUST go, bring the kids, and allow yourself lots of time to see everything.

I have lots of memories of coming here as a kid and enjoy bringing my own kids a few times a year. The museum has lots of great exhibits about the history and animals of Maine. The third floor houses exhibits that change regularly. From the museum you can also walk over to the State House which is beautiful inside and has a few more dioramas that feature animals from Maine.

Barbecue restaurant
Riverfront Barbeque & Grille is a family-friendly restaurant in Maine that offers a diverse menu featuring Memphis-style dry-rub ribs and homemade chili. The place is known for its delicious slow-cooked barbecue at affordable prices. Visitors recommend trying the sausage and key lime pie, which has an unexpected twist. While some have found the wings and ribs slightly overcooked, many praise the unique flavor of the rub used on them.
Great lunch stop!! 5 stars on all fronts! Good portions, great service, tasty meat! We had pulled pork and shredded brisket- neither were fatty and both had an excellent flavor!
B N — Google review
My daughter, granddaughter, and I ate at Riverfront last night. We all thought our meals were excellent. Meat portions were a little bigger than those listed on the menu (we had pulled pork and pulled chicken), corn bread was outstanding, and the blue cheese dressing on my salad was the best blue cheese dressing I've tasted. An earlier review said portions were generous, and that was true for us. We all left with to-go boxes and full stomachs. After our meal, Patrick, the owner stopped by and we talked for a while. He's very friendly and dedicated to ensuring his customers get the best service and quality meals possible. Unfortunately we're not from the area so this could well be the only time we eat at Riverfront, but if you ever get the opportunity to east there, all three of us highly recommend it!

Had been wanting to try this place for a while so took an opportunity to stop in after a long day and wit two more hours of driving until we got home. Server was super prompt taking our order within 2 minutes. That’s where all the positive vibes ended. After 15 minutes we asked to be sure our pulled chicken would not be doused with sauce and were assured it would not be. We waited another 20 minutes and the server came to explain the kitchen was way backed up (would have been ice to know that from the beginning) but she may not have realized it would be nearly 50 minutes before our food was brought and of the course the chicken was sauced! No matter we weren’t sending it back for fear it would take another hour! So she offered to take the chicken off the bill for one of us which was fine. The whole meal was disappointing …the pulled chicken tasted more like stewed than barbecued…very dry and relatively tasteless with no hint of Smokey bbq. Cole slaw, rice, and cornbread all also mediocre and lacking flavor. This place was one and done for us!
Lynne H — Google review
We enjoyed a wonderful late lunch at Riverfront on a blustery, rainy Maine day. The BBQ is delicious the beer is cold. Even the music (blues) was awesome! Definitely worth a visit!

Passing through Augusta Maine on our way to Portland. We had a wonderful lunch of pulled pork, slaw and beans. The owner, didn’t get his name, was bartending and serving. He did an excellent job of making sure we had what we needed in addition to the two other tables and two men eating at the bar. The food was by far thee best sandwich, slaw and beans we’d ever had! We’d really like to go back one day and give the ribs a try. Excellent music, atmosphere, service and food. I’d highly recommend a visit to Riverfront Barbeque & Grill.

Cushnoc Brewing Co. is a trendy brewpub with an industrial vibe that offers wood-fired pizzas, salads, and bar snacks. In addition to its brewery tasting room, the establishment features a full-service restaurant serving delectable menu items such as popcorn, fire-roasted nuts, marinated olives, Canelli spread with flatbread, baked nachos, and loaded salads. Visitors rave about the fresh and buttery popcorn seasoned with pepper.
Had a really tasty meal here. The bread and cannellini spread were delicious, as was the pizza. I thought the vegan cheese was great although the tomato sauce was a little sweet for me personally. It was still very enjoyable though! P.S. our server Nick was incredible! He made sure we had all the food and drinks we wanted AND let us borrow his phone to contact our hotel (our UK phones were struggling!).

Nice place to grab a quick drink and have some wood fired pizza. Topping selection was quite unique and we had trouble deciding. Settled on the Bond Street pizza which was delicious. Would come back again to try the others.
Andrew L — Google review
All five stars for this niche pizza place. The Cushnoc brews, of course, are super. Our server was so nice and friendly, they all were. The pizza was top notch, awesome sauce. We had a split os Meatza and Capital City - highly recommend them both.
Todd M — Google review
Enjoyed a date here with my wife, we were both delighted. The pizza was SO good, some of the best I've had in Maine. We ordered the seasonal special which was a white pie with apple slices, sausage and hot honey drizzle. Our server was accommodating to my wife, who was worried about the spiciness, and friendly and attentive overall. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. All in all we left looking forward to coming back soon.
Oliver — Google review
I am laughing writing this because this place is awesome and doesn’t need my review. The people are friendly, the beer is good, and the pizzas, omg. Just outstanding. Light crust perfectly cooked in some type of brick oven thing. Every pizza is better than the last from simple creations to high end deluxe options. We even got the garlic bites which were covered in cheese with a nice tasting of red sauce. My god. I’ve been here three times and whenever I’m within an hour of it it’s all that I can think about.
Carl K — Google review
4.5/5 Garlic Bites -- crisp edges, cheesy, garlicky what more can you ask for! This one seemed like a popular app as almost every table had an order. 4/5 Naughty N Nice Pizza -- loved the flavor of their spicy sauce with the pepperoni and notes of basil! Personally for me as a NYer, the crust was a bit too floppy for my liking. 4/5 Espresso Martini -- definitely quite strong, wish it had more of a creamy texture
Tiffany V — Google review
Another favorite! I love their pizzas in the atmosphere here is great. Do be aware that if you go when it's busy. It's going to be loud; that's the nature of the environment (building design). Regardless, the food and drink is always good. And their specialty pizzas keep you on your toes - the combinations these cooks come up with are incredible!

My husband and I were in town visiting a family member and stopped here for a late lunch and a drink. We got seated as soon as we walked in. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. I got a gingerbread whiskey sour and it was soooo good. The food was next level. My husband doesn’t like garlic and we got garlic knots and garlic parm popcorn and he couldn’t stop eating it. We also got a hot honey pizza and OMG. Would absolutely recommend this place!

Viles Arboretum is a vast 220-acre public park featuring a diverse collection of over 300 tree species, shrubs, and plants. With 6 miles of trails that wind through forests, gardens, wetlands, meadows, and more, visitors can immerse themselves in the serene beauty of this botanical garden. The arboretum offers opportunities for bird-watching, butterfly spotting, and observing Maine's native wildlife.
A fun place to take a short walk in town in Augusta. The trails are very well maintained and take you through diverse ecosystems like prairies, wetlands, natural forests, and orchards. Most trails are pretty flat too, and they are all well marked, so you're never far from a sign showing you what trail you're on. The trails are well used by the community throughout the year, but I never had any trouble finding a spot in the parking lot. There's also a gift shop with bathrooms and some local nature merchandise at the front too.

It was nice to get out in the sunshine and enjoy the blooms. It was perfect weather to explore areas of the arboretum that I hadn't seen before. They have expanded and added new trails and signage since my last visit. Still more to explore.

Went on the outer trail late morning/early afternoon on a crisp fall thursday. The trail was well groomed, but the portion through the forest was a bit difficult; i would not consider it handicap accessible. Most of the trails go through the grassy knoll and are less difficult, so would be great for the whole family. We saw a Great Blue Heron hunting for fish in one of the small ponds. There are many educational plaques throughout and there were many families with small children on picnics. Dogs are allowed, just PLEASE keep them on a leash.

I visited after some heavy rains. I headed out on the trails, crossed a bridge that desperately needed repairs. I then ended up at a stream crossing that was boggy and would’ve been over the top of my hiking boots and there was no provision for stepping stones or a bridge. I had to turn around and head out after spending only about 15 minutes. I don’t think this is a fair evaluation and hope to spend an hour or two exploring the place, but was unable to because of poor trail maintenance.

It was my first visit at Viles Alboretum. I visited on Saturday, December 16 2023. I arrived at about 12:30, it was about 38 to 40 degrees f The trails were a bit slippery and muddy along the way. We just had 8" of snow fall on us a week before, and then the outside temperature would rise during the daytime and freeze during the evenings. It was 40*f on Satuday, and the sun was shining as you will witness in the photos that I have provided of the property. There are 3 trails that you can hike at Viles Alboretum, The longest being 1.25 miles and 2 others that are approximately .5 miles in length. They are all relatively easy to stroll along and are pet friendly as long as you keep your pet on a leash and dispose your dogs waste products in the proper dispensaries. There are also some common sense rules in place not to disturb the wildlife or forage on the many acres of property. Please don't litter. The staff that I met along one of the trails was very friendly as well as informative. The scenery and wildlife at this Sanctuary are beautiful! The conversations that I had with others on he Crossroads and trails at Viles Alboretum were priceless! I will be sure to visit again! Donation boxes are present for those who would like to donate to the cause. https://g.co/kgs/Wzeyva

Scenic and vast trail system, surprisingly right in the heart of Augusta. There's a parking lot with ample spots to which in Summer, during vacation season, it was nice to be able to drive straight into the Arboretum and not have to search for parking. Leading up to the forested trails were interesting stone sculptures, which is a nice touch, and there was even a cute little bee farm! The only major criticism I would have is that the trails aren't as well managed, not completely neglected, but there were points along the paths where me and my husband had to trudge through fallen tree needles and small twigs which made it a chore to walk. All in all, it's a good way to get out and explore nature without having to drive out of the way and with a walk which isn't rigorous. We will be going again sometime in the fall as I expect the trees and crops will be pretty.

This is an amazing and exciting place to walk and enjoy nature. There are several trails to take depending on how much walking you would like to do. If you enjoy birding... this is a one place you have to go. It is a hot spot for birders. Check out the visitor and gift shop area. They have many programs for all ages.

Great place to take a walk with friends and family or bring the pet for a wilderness jog. Have always had a blast here and always get to enjoy seeing some wildlife no matter what time of the year it may be. There are snow shoe trails and also cross country skiing trails. The as arboretum does unfortunately close at dark, which kills the idea of a night hike in the woods but still a very cool place to visit . Highly recommended

Restaurant
The Oak Table & Bar is a charming spot for a romantic date or a gathering with friends. Their menu changes daily, offering guests an opportunity to savor new creations from the chef's imagination each time they visit. The Four Course Tasting menu presents options like specialty salads, cheese platters, Maine oysters, locally sourced seafood, and usually both meat and vegetarian choices.
Took my partner here to surprise him with somewhere new, and it was a pleasant surprise for us both! The food was fresh and tasty! We tried the four course meal, and I would say itbwas fine dining, without getting too out of touch! The portions were all well sized, and the flavors were easy to recognize and not overdone. The menu changes regularly, as they prefer to cook local foods as they are in season, so it always feels like a new adventure whenever you go! It was more of a comfy atmosphere than romantic, but we both went home with full bellies and had a great time! A little more expensive, but worth every penny! Definitely planning to go again!

Eli the chef was excellent. He prepared the entire restaurant patrons entrées that night and did it pleasantly and skillfully. We sat at the “bar”in back which wasn’t romantic or scenic since the windows faced the river and it was the official”kitchen” area and there were cooking items on the seals of windows so couldn’t see out that but well the chef made it all worthwhile with his excellent delicious dishes and we left completely satisfied. If you want a date night table ask when you reserve.

I went on a Tuesday evening which was slow, but I still had a great experience! The food was delicious, especially the mushrooms which I think was my favorite of the items I had. But all the items were great! The chef certainly knows how to cook a great meal. The dessert was a lot larger than I expected, which I'm not complaining about! But it was a surprise after all the small plates I also had a wonderful conversation with the server, so I can vouch that they hire good people here.

On our third trip to Oak Table we left mid-meal vowing to never return. We arrived on time for our reservations and were seated promptly. From there it went downhill fast. It took about 15 minutes for the waitress to get our drink order leaving us an hour to eat. We politely explained to the waitress the time constraint and we were assured that it would be no problem to get us our food. As it was not bus. We believed her. We ordered the three shared courses and individual mains. Because we were concerned about the time crunch, we ordered dishes that we thought would be easy to prepare. The first course, cheese and crackers, took 20 minutes to come out. Bad sign. When the second course, fried mushrooms. came out we repeated our concern about the time and asked the waitress if we should skip the third course, oysters. She again assured us that the mains would come out in time. But, just to be sure we asked for the mains to go and for the check so that we could dash after dinner. When the oysters finally came out, there was only 10 minutes left, and to rub salt into the wounds the oysters were bad. We live in Maine, eat oysters often, and know a good from a bad one. We were not able to tell the waitress because she never returned. We waited 10 minutes for our to-go mains to arrive and they did not. Neither did the waitress. No apologies. No offers to remediate the situation. I gave a good tip thinking we would get our food. Throughout all of this we saw the chef repeatedly helping a cook coming up from the restaurant downstairs which he also owns. The chef also went to the downstairs restaurant twice. There were not many parties dining and they should have seen things going downhill. Being too busy managing two restaurants is excusable. Serving bad oysters in Maine and taking our money without serving us mains is not. We will not be returning.

Oh man, I hardly ever leave reviews but I just left this restaurant shaking and very sad. We had reservations for tonight and arrived on time. We waited several minutes to be acknowledged before being told to “sit wherever”. The atmosphere was very lacking and tables were sticky — certainly not what I expected from a restaurant with a 4-course tasting menu (and all the positive reviews which I am puzzled by). My partner and I love dining & fine dining. We felt immediately judged and dismissed (we assume because of our age or attire?). There were maybe 3 other tables inside. We were seated before another two top right next to us (also told to just sit wherever). We could hear their communications with the waitress and they were treated much better than us. Served before us, had the menu explained to them, had the meals explained to them, etc., while we weren’t given much of anything. Our first course came after 45 MINUTES. 1 cold salad and 1 plate of 4 pieces of cheese and some toast… the table next to us was given a run down of the cheeses while I was given zero explanation. After the other table was served their second course before us again we decided to leave in the middle of the meal. Something neither of us have ever done before. We should have left when we were ignored upon entering.

Walked in on a Saturday night from the brewery next store and it felt like we stumbled on a hidden gem. Sat at the bar and ordered a la cart from the menu, but everything was absolutely perfect. The cocktails were delicious, ordered two starters, the oysters and the seared mushrooms. The oysters were some of the best I’ve ever had, and I’m not much of an oyster person, but the seared mushrooms were out of this world, I would eat them for every meal if I could. Then we got the streak and fettuccine and they were also out of this world. To top it all off was this acoustic guitar musician adding beautiful music to the entire experience. If I could come back and do the chefs table I would in a heartbeat.

New American restaurant
Dessert restaurant
Otto's on the River is a waterfront restaurant in downtown Augusta, offering a diverse menu featuring seafood, pasta, and vegan dishes. One of their specialties is the unique preparation of lobster rolls, available as whole or half lobsters served on top of lobster salad in a fresh roll. The restaurant provides both indoor and seasonal outdoor seating with scenic views of the Kennebec River. Additionally, they offer full bar service for guests to enjoy cocktails while taking in the picturesque surroundings.
Great atmosphere, everyone was very welcoming and kind. I had the haddock casserole and my husband had the mac n chz sandwich, both were tasty! Will go again!

I enjoyed my business lunch at Otto’s. I had the lobster stew and a lobster roll. The stew was very tasty and fresh. The lobster roll was a half of a lobster tail on a French roll. We were cheerfully served by Gretchen who had an amazing smile.

The Worst Dining Experience I Have Ever Had I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but my experience at Otto’s on the River was so disappointing that I feel obligated to share. This restaurant is rated highly on TripAdvisor, which is why I chose to try it, but based on my visit, that ranking is completely undeserved. We started with the crab dip, which was a disaster. It didn’t taste like crab at all — just an overwhelming amount of cheese with no real seafood flavor. The scallops wrapped in bacon were equally disappointing: the scallops had no flavor, and the bacon was overcooked, fatty, and unpleasant to eat. For the main course, I ordered the seafood scampi and specifically asked to substitute fettuccine for angel hair pasta. When my plate arrived, it was still angel hair, which I do not like. The dish itself was even worse than the pasta mistake. It was served more like a bowl of watery soup than a scampi, and the amount of seafood was shockingly small. What little seafood there was had been chopped into tiny, unappetizing pieces, making the entire dish both unappealing and unsatisfying. The service didn’t improve the situation either. My request for a simple pasta substitution was ignored, and there was no effort to correct the mistake. On top of that, the dining environment itself was unpleasant — there were flies inside the restaurant that actually landed on my hand and on my food. That is not only disgusting but completely unacceptable in any restaurant, let alone one that claims to be among the best in the area. I travel extensively for work and have eaten at countless restaurants across the country, and I can honestly say this was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. I left hungry, frustrated, and feeling like I had wasted both my time and money. This restaurant should not be ranked as the number one restaurant on TripAdvisor. That is completely misleading, and I strongly urge anyone considering dining here to look elsewhere. Do not go to Otto’s on the River — you will regret it.

Absolutely fantastic place. The food is awesome and the people are great. Very friendly and kind. We asked a lot of questions and they answered them all. Should be on one of those food network shows.

Arrived WITHOUT a reservation and were squeezed in no problem. Nice table with plenty of room. The appetizers, drinks and food arrived quickly. ALL tasted wonderful. Servings are large so you're either stuffing yourself, bringing some home or leaving it behind. The dessert options, which were bountiful, sounded great. Too many wonderful choices. All in all, if waa a great experience there.

We had a great lunch here. The bartender/waitress was charming, a bit comical, and made it extra special. The crab dip appetizer was amazing. Only 3 stars on the food because my lamb burger was a bit overcooked and dry.

Went in alone, after an interview in the area. It was empty when I arrived at 4pm. I believe it was the owner who took great care of me. I was having a rough day and was on the phone trying to get done assistance. The owner she was so very sweet not wanting to be rude but wanted to give me a little support and knowledge of her own. It was like talking to a friend, her information was very helpful and I needed directions on where, what, How and When. The food was delicious. I had the Chicken Marsala dish, it was served Hot, just enough sauce not to dry not floating. The pasta was cooked perfectly. I told the sweet lady I was definitely going to come back in. If I get a job in the area or move to that area it will be a favorite often visits. The dining room was filling up by the time I left.

Eclectic arty restaurant with great service and delicious food. Perfect stop for lunch or dinner with a view of the river. Definitely will return.

We stopped here once in a while for breakfast. It is consistent and good. The wait staff are always friendly.

Place was super clean, servers were very nice. I was in a breakfast for dinner mood. The food was hot, came quick and I enjoyed every bite! Solid IHOP experience

We had a large family gathering of 20+. Had made reservations, but name and phone number didn't make it through to manager. She accommodated us with a smile at the last minute. Staff did an amazing job of handling orders and delivering the food. Could not have asked for anything better.
Mary D — Google review
We waited to be seated for almost 20 min. There was only two customers at the time and a server looked right at me twice and walked in a different direction. When a different last came to seat I mentioned to her. She laughed. I told her I don't think it was funny. If I weren't so hungry I would have left. Never again!!!
Tina S — Google review
I was pleased today, when I had mentioned my food allergies to my server, they paid attention to my needs. That was followed up by the kitchen staff coming out specifically to ask about the details so that they could keep me safe. This was all done while the restaurant was more full than I have ever experienced. I could not rate this service any higher!
Enigmah A — Google review
Place was empty, after our visit we understand why. It was food, that's about it, nothing great. Pale hash browns, tough pancakes not so nice coffee. Sausages tasted like hotdogs, kinda of a all around let down not sure how this place is open now.
Gary V — Google review
I've been in the best and worst breakfast places over the years. This is definitely a franchise vibe BUT this is a new and up to date location with huge dining rooms plural, so even when it's busy it is still a pleasant experience. Over the years the menu has become smaller (less variety) and pricier but that is everything everywhere these days. I was pleased with my eggs Benedict even though the eggs were overdone (solid) but that may just be a temperature standard to avoid any issues with food borne illness. My friend had some kind of spicy steak and veggie omelette, it looked great and had a huge chunk of avocado garnish, both of us were pleased. The coffee was just ok, again to be expected. Overall very satisfied.
Shelley H — Google review
Creepy, no customers. Employees were not visible for about 5 minutes after coming in. Food was gross, 2 people in my party got sick from what they are, and the pancakes were like chewing some kind of flubber sponge. Do not recommend.

Restaurant
Wander Pizza Company offers a wide variety of specialty pizzas that are consistently satisfying, whether for takeout or dine-in. The cozy atmosphere and diverse beer selection add to the overall experience. While some find the prices slightly higher, the fresh ingredients and quality justify the cost. Customers praise the light, crispy dough and fresh toppings, as well as the generous appetizers. The owner's hands-on approach and friendly staff contribute to a positive impression of this local establishment.
Wander Pizza was a delightful experience! Here’s a detailed breakdown of what stood out: Detroit Style Pizza: The pizza was absolutely amazing -- something so good about it! Everything about it was spot-on—from the perfectly balanced combination of fresh veggies to the delicious toppings and perfectly crisp yet soft crust. Every bite felt like it was crafted with care and attention. It’s easily one of the best pizzas I’ve had in a long time. Service: We arrived close to closing time, yet the staff was incredibly accommodating and welcoming. As vegetarians, we truly appreciated their willingness to help customize options and ensure we had a fantastic experience. Their attentiveness and kindness truly added to the positive vibe. Ambience: The ambience was decent—it had a casual, fast-food feel to it, but honestly, it didn’t detract from the experience. It’s not a fine-dining atmosphere, but it’s cozy and functional for a great pizza outing. Price: While it did feel slightly overpriced, I can confidently say the pizza was totally worth it. The flavor, quality, and overall experience make it a worthwhile indulgence. If you’re a pizza lover, Wander Pizza is definitely worth a visit—you won’t regret it!

Holy mackerel! That’s good pizza! Crust is perfectly salty, thin crisp shell with a nice chew to the interior. Tomato sauce is real tomato and just perfect. Great list of toppings. And no more expensive than the gas station. Nice outdoor seating with market umbrellas, nice indoor seating with booths and air conditioning. I will definitely be back.

Exceeded my expectations for pizza in Maine! We ordered the standard pie Spicy Hawaiian and Detroit style pepperoni - both were delicious! Clean facilities, friendly staff. Outside seating available as well! Would 100% come again and highly recommend! Ignore the ripped crust on the Hawaiian - my dog demanded some as well! And she recommends 10/10.

Very nice, small pizza shop! I love the hiking signs! Where can I find those? Signs aside, the service was professional, the man that handed me my order was down-to-earth. The pizza itself was delicious! Nice crispy crust. And the best part......everything stayed on when I picked it up 👌💯 It tasted good as well. Could have used a tad more spice, but I would probably eat fire and say it wasn't hot enough so I'm a little special. 😂 Were it closer to me, I'd go here a few times a week.

I haven't even finished this pizza and had to register my opinion on the internet. Probably one of the best pizzas I've ever had. Super cool joint. Totally will be back before this trip is over. Nashville chicken - don't miss it!! 🤩🤩

I always wanted to visit this place, I tried the pizzas in another location for a catering service, finally I made it and I enjoyed a lot, it's a busy place, lots of clientele, they run the place very smoothly, beers on the tap, good pizza menu, definitely coming back

My husband and I hired the Wander Wood Fired Pizza truck for our wedding on September 6, 2025. The appetizers and pizza were delicious (some of our guests are still talking about it!) Bobby and his team were so easy to work with. We truly appreciate all their hard work to make our wedding dinner run so smoothly! They were very reasonably priced, and we highly recommend Wander Wood Fired Pizza to anyone considering it for their wedding dinner.
