Historical place museum
Sights & Landmarks
The Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society is a museum located at 227 South Main Street, which was once the birthplace of Noah Webster. The house has been restored to its 1750s appearance and now serves as a learning space, featuring a theater and art displays. As the former home of Noah Webster, known for his impact on American education and his Blue-Backed Speller books, the museum offers an essential look into early education in America.
I have to say I learned a few things about Noah Webster and the reasons for making the dictionary. The house itself is small and simple, reflecting his family life from when he was born until he moved out. It shows life in a more simple some than some of the more extravagant homes of the wealthy, like the nearby Mark Twain house.
Larry B — Google review
Noah Webster House is a worthwhile outing. The history and preservation of the artifacts proved to be truly worthwhile. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to explore the legacy housed within the historic site. During the guided tour of the house, my daughter and I were deeply impressed by the wealth of background information shared. The details illuminated the scope and depth of the site's importance. Prior to the tour, we were unaware of Webster's remarkable impact in both politics and education. The information presented offered a new understanding of their influential contributions. In retrospect, the tour was a memorable experience and well worth the time and effort invested.

Small but full of history! We spent around an hour on a quiet weekday afternoon there. Great for kids!

Driving school student from Moley Elementary schools. School trip; I was the school bus driver. Kids had fun from what the told me. Great day for them.

Words. Words. Words. Thanks Noah for making them American! In 1828 his own Dictionary was published and the rest is history! Webster’s Blue Back Speller gave us pronunciation and a commonality for equalized relations among our people. We still depend on his dictionary in schools and homes throughout our nation. This house is a little gem that brings his story to life.

Great way to spend a couple of hours with my 16 year old. Lots to learn about and the garden is a nice touch. I would love to see hands on classes for adults...open hearth cooking, spinning wheel or butter and cheese making. Maybe an herbal medicine class appropriate for that time period that is still useful today.
Christine W — Google review
Cute little museum, interesting to learn about the history of the dictionary, American English, and the census. Plus historical living is interesting.

Hiking Trails
Nestled in a picturesque park setting, West Hartford Reservoir is a beloved recreational area featuring a network of forested trails around six working water reservoirs. With over 30 miles of paved and gravel roads spanning 3,000 acres, it's an ideal destination for hiking and mountain biking enthusiasts. The main trail encircling the reservoir stretches over 3.2 miles, complemented by several unpaved hiking trails that cater to various preferences.
The reservoir has many trails, some paved, some gravel road, some paths through the woods that diverge. Choices to enhance your living can be found if one but chooses the road less traveled.

I completed my first 5K here! The uphill sections were definitely a challenge for a beginner, but I loved the experience overall. The scenery is beautiful—and I even spotted some deer!
Ziming C — Google review
I went there for running. I tried to use the single bike trails, but many of them were covered with greens (luckily no poison ivy), but beautiful overall.
Yaniv B — Google review
One of my favorite places to go for a hike. Peaceful, clean, and plenty of wildlife! Find the trails in the woods - they are much more interesting than the paved trails.
Scott C — Google review
I'm amazed by the beauty of this place! MDC operates the water treatment plants located at this reservoir. This is a privately owned area and not a public park. There was MDC Police that patrolled the area when I was there. Parking was plentiful when we went on a beautiful spring weekday. There were clean porta potties onsite. There were trails in the woods and out in the open; the trails were paved and gravel. It is opened daily from sunrise to sunset and closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. There were two trails; 3.4-mile loop red trail and 2.0-mile loop yellow trail. We started off with the gravel yellow trail that has a slight incline. Then we got onto part of the red loop which was near the bridge overlooking the water. We saw a couple of deer in the woods, geese, and turtles in the water. This is where we walked on pavement. Some of the trees were marked by type. The trail was busy with walkers and bikers. Overall, I really enjoyed the hike/walk and can't wait to go back.
Kim V — Google review
West Hartford Reservoir offers beautiful walking trails, perfect for nature lovers seeking tranquility. The red trail is fully paved, while the yellow trail is partially paved, catering to various preferences. Additionally, there are connecting trails for extended exploration. The terrain is mostly flat, with a few gentle hills, making it accessible for all skill levels. Whether you seek a leisurely stroll or a scenic hike, this reservoir has something for everyone. This place is great for hiking and bicycling also taking your dog here. They have a beautiful Reservoir right when you pull in and off to the left will be parking. They also have another Reservoir more towards the back that goes in a loop. They have plenty of trails here that go in a loop they have a beautiful bridge and it is a awesome spot to take lovely beautiful pictures. If nobody has been here I would definitely recommend checking this place out. My dog loves it here and we try to come here at least once a month so he could stretch his legs and enjoy looking at the reservoir. There is plenty of parking if you get here early.

Blue Back Square is an extension of West Hartford Center, inspired by Noah Webster's Blue-backed Speller books. It seamlessly blends retail and residential spaces, offering dozens of chain stores, a movie theater, and various dining options. The area is lively throughout the year and features a mix of shops including Crate and Barrel, a dog bakery, and excellent eateries. Additionally, it houses a library, theater, Whole Foods store, and offers entertainment during warmer months.
Just love it! I went to Whole Foods Market with my grandson when he was around 13. He picked out food items I never saw him eat before. Everyone who worked there was approachable, knowledgable and showed us exactly where to find the items we were searching for. I am glad we chose to shop there.

I love walking around Blue Back Square. It’s beautiful, clean, and artsy, with plenty of lovely spots to sit and relax outdoors. There are several nice eateries, including my favorites: World of Beer and The Place 2 Be. The area also has an outdoor stage for live performances. Though not expansive, it’s quaint and perfect for families.

Clean, ample parking. Safe. The West Hartford fair was fun. Very packed. There were so many different business stands. From schools, churches, dental, food shops, you name it, it was probably there. There was also a great live music performance going on. The ride tickets were priced high. But there was fun for everyone.

The theater offers a diverse range of main stage plays, musicals, comedy shows, and children's performances throughout the season. Visitors have praised the cozy and impressive atmosphere of the theater, along with its friendly staff and talented actors.
Attended The Complete Works of Jane Austen production at Playhouse on the Park. Never disappointed & ALWAYS amazed with the rich atmosphere and set designs! I’ve attended several productions at this venue and not ONE set has been repetitive. The creativity is OFF the charts! Informative and engaging material with entertaining & compelling performances. Will return for more events & will invite friends & family!

The 2nd act was crazy!! These actors were so talented and all music was live. They performed all their own music. It was raucous and just over the top at the end. We danced, sang along, audience participation encouraged. Amazing!! Im convinced the actor/musician that played Jerry E Lewis has done this before. Down pat!! What a talent. Loved it. And a story behind it was one i never knew. GO!!

We saw Million Dollar Quartet. Loved it. Loved the playhouse. Small intimate. Decent sound and lighting. Easy free parking close by. Helpful, friendly volunteers. For the performers I have to say this was one of the most energetic and enjoyable finales I've seen. In dozens of shows. Perfection.
Jim L — Google review
Nice intimate venue with comfortable seats, great entertainment and adequate rest rooms!
Lauren A — Google review
First time there this past weekend. We saw Million Dollar Quartet and it was fantastic. The venue is small which puts every patron really close to the action. action. The talent was incredible. Being unfamiliar with the area I was unsure if there were any parking lots. I was lucky that there was a parking spot on the street in front of the building. The lobby was a bit small and full concession stand was not open because their outside vendor wasn't able to staff it. That said, the show was so good that i still gave it 5 stars. We already purchased tickets for their next show!
Dick M — Google review
Had the chance to see Pippin. The show was great and Playhouse on Park had a very intimate setting, so any seat was a great seat! There was plenty of street parking. The neighborhood had places to walk around and eat nearby as well.

1st time here and Million Dollar Quartet was FANTASTIC!! All the players were a 10 but a special shout out to Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis for their perfect interpretation of their characters!! See a show here!!!
Kris K — Google review
This review is more for the Connecticut Shakespeare festival than the actual venue, but the venue itself was great as well. I recently went to see Into the Woods with my wife. My only regret was that I didn't buy tickets to every other production that they put on this summer. I was thoroughly impressed with the production. Playhouse on Park was an excellent venue for it, as I felt that every seat in the venue was a good seat with an excellent view of the performance. I did not initially know what into the woods was really going to be about, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Every one of the performers was at a high professional level. I feel like they could have packed out a large theater. I was so impressed I was actually going to buy tickets to come to the show The following day with my kids, but couldn't fit it into my schedule. So instead I watched it on Disney plus with my kids. I didn't realize how well it was performed until I actually watched the Disney production and thought that some of the performers out did the Disney production. One of those shows that inspired me to see if I could get back into theater and try to introduce it to my children. Thank you!

Middle Eastern restaurant
Zohara Mediterranean Kitchen is a top restaurant in West Hartford Center, offering an original menu influenced by North Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Turkey, and Greece. The restaurant boasts a friendly and inviting atmosphere and is part of the DORO Restaurant Group. Chef Dorjan Puka's culinary expertise shines through in dishes inspired by Morocco, Israel, and Albania. Guests can enjoy small plates like labneh with roasted vegetables or perfectly cooked lamb.
Came here years ago and had their lamb chops. Been thinking about them ever since. They don’t have them anymore, but I got the coffee rubbed rib eye and it was absolutely incredible. Tender, cooked exactly to the temp I wanted, and seasoned perfectly. Tyler gave my table great service and I can’t wait to come back. Got the rise n grind (made it spicy) and the Wizard of Oaxaca as my cocktails and they were both perfect.

Never disappoints, a very lively atmosphere with good service and great food. This is easily one of my new favorite restaurants. Finding great food in CT that rises above my expectations is few and far. I do have to travel to get here but it is worth it every time. Run, don’t walk to please your palette and experience some great food and drinks. The chicken is delicious, the crispy potatoes yuuuummmmm! We enjoyed the side dishes more than the entree and ordered so much that we were too full to eat the entree. The salmon skewer was our favorite but the overall dish was our least favorite meal.
Tanisha — Google review
This was an amazing dining experience with a large family group of 10 … service was perfect ! We had the 3 course table feast which started with different types of hummus and dips with the best pita bread we have ever eaten! Followed by several small plates of just about everything on the menu (kitchens choice )… the food just kept coming! Lots of leftovers !!
Kaye W — Google review
We had joined our goddaughter at the restaurant for lunch, she is local and she picked this place. The dishes were amazing, with touch of spices giving the food a kick but not overwhelming. We loved the octopus salad (!) and the aka shrimp, plus the roasted cauliflower (yummy) and mussels. The only dish we thought not as good was the lamp meatballs, little bit dry. The waiter was very friendly and delightful. We parked just right outside street parking $1.75 per hour. Great choice for anyone looking for Mediterranean cuisine.
Robin W — Google review
Impeccable, flavorful, excellent from start to finish. Wonderful staff and food. It was an explosion with every bite of deliciousness on my palette (I’m not exaggerating). We are not from the area but we’ll definitely be back! Also, Our server Bryan was a five star waiter. He was so helpful and had a professional kind knowledgeable personality!!! Thanks Bryan

This place was amazing. The food is so delicious and the portions are extremely generous. The crispy zatar chicken and the roasted cauliflower head were show stoppers. We also got a plate of all the different types of hummus (off menu) it was fine, but sort of too much of the same thing, I’d recommend skipping the dips and going straight into the mezzes.
Jareen I — Google review
So so good! We split 9 or so mezzes between 4 of us and it was plenty of food (with some leftovers). The Batata Harra was my favorite but others loved the Crispy Za’atar Chicken. Our server also brought us some special birthday desserts. Would definitely come again!
Melissa G — Google review
This place blew me away. Every dish is an experience. Healthy portions on the mezzes make it great for sharing. The staff was warm, engaging and accommodating. I was traveling through the area, and detoured to stop here when I read the menu. I sat at one of the countertop areas, and was able to enjoy an exquisite culinary experience with relatively quick service for such a busy place. Friendly vibe with sociable regular guests eager to talk about their favorites. I ordered the whole cauliflower, lamb ragu hummus, and pistachio crusted warm goat cheese salad with roasted pears and endive... Way more than I could eat at one sitting, but happy to take home the leftovers!

Exquisite! The best meal I have had in ages! There is an excellent selection of dishes and all the pasta is made fresh, in house, everyday. The desserts were phenomenal. Our waiter was outstanding! Just outstanding, fun, friendly and knowledgeable. I am a top 10% restaurant reviewer on Google so I eat out a lot and I have to say this place is one of my all time favourites. This is a place with Simple Excellence and not Complicated Mediocrity like many places.

My wife and I met a friend out for lunch. We picked this restaurant because of its location and their menu, as a place we could meet up. We enjoyed the atmosphere as we were able to sit and catch up. Greeted promptly, upon our arrival, and sat right away. The waitstaff was great. I'm happy that we chose this place and I would go there again.

I have been to Treva at least 20x. The food is consistently excellent. The service is consistently excellent. Of the many restaurants in West Hartford Center, Treva is my favorite. I love love love the veal Milanese. Their pasta is fresh and delicious. The cacio e Pepe is delicious. A great time every time.

Came for dinner on a Sunday evening. We were seated at the back patio outside (which I preferred than the front patio watching traffic on Farmington Ave). The wait staff were courteous and efficient. The food was all delicious and well seasoned. Updated on 12/24/2024 - Came back here for a cozy dinner before Christmas. I had the squid ink pasta. It was made al Dante, very flavorful. My wife had the special with strip bass in a a tomato sauce. Our waitress Nicole was very attentive throughout our dinner. Finally, I had the mascarpone cheese cake. The cake is velvety and not too sweet. Highly recommend.

Have been to Treva several times. It has been a good overall experience each time. This visit was for lunch, shortly after opening, on a Saturday. The ambiance is nice, a romantic vibe, one that is fitting for an Italian restaurant. We were seated promptly with waters and menus delivered by the host shortly after. Drink orders were taken, again, by the host. The drinks were delivered by a staff member. The drinks were tasty, mine, a rum drink, and the other, the 980 gin drink. The waitress took our order. It wasn’t until a group of four sat next to us, that we realized none of the specials were reviewed with us. They sounded amazing. We didn’t make a stink about it and were happy with our lunch choices. Still though, it would have been nice to hear them. Lunch itself was delicious. Brussel Sprouts appetizer, along with the Gnocchi and Cacio e Pepe. For dessert, we had the Torta Della Nina, an Espresso Martini, and a Cappuccino. Overall, we enjoyed the setting, most of the service, and the meal. The specials issue was a little bit of a bummer but it didn’t ruin the day. We will be back again.
John R — Google review
Had a nice experience on our first visit to Treva tonight. We dined outside on their sidewalk patio on a beautiful evening. Had a bit of a slow start to our service but once server came she apologized for the delay. We tried 3 mocktails - all very good. Our two appetizers were easy to share among 3 people. We each ordered our own dinner - rigatoni with sausage and bolognese and the mushroom ravioli, one of the daily specials. We shared a generous slice of tiramisu for dessert. Overall, it’s a great spot to dine in West Hartford.
Michele K — Google review
I stopped here with my Wife for little date dinner. Place is definitely way bigger inside then you could expect by looking from outside. We sat down on booth by bar. There are also quieter area on the other side and back. Luckily it was still early so it wasn't too loud. Waiter came, he was nice, took our order. He asked if we want bread which we agreed to, on weekends we are eating more carbs so we were excited for it. Unfortunately we never got our bread which was very unfortunate. I decided that I will drop my overall grade to 4 stars. I changed my mind quickly after I tried main dish. I had ribeye and my wife had ny strip steak. It was delicious, meat and carbs. So good. That's why I'm keeping those 5 stars. Even those brussel sprouts that I normally don't like it were delicious. I strongly recommend this place for delicious steaks!

We were glad we finally decided to give this place a try. Often seen people waiting in line. We chose a quiet day and there was no waiting. Fresh food and well cooked is something to look forward to! It’s a little pricy but well worth it! Enjoyed our drinks😀 The bread that they provided was really good, little hard but if you take out the sides it’s perfect. Shrimp flatbread -5/5( so light and and so fresh) Chicken pesto pasta- 5/5( requested extra pesto and it was the best pasta ever, the pasta and sauce was home made that made it so good) Branzino- 5/5 ( requested for the fillet instead of the whole fish, it came so fresh , it was cooked perfectly, loved it! The veggies were actually cooked nicely that made it perfect) Will be back to try more items on the menu😀

My boyfriend surprised me for my birthday and it was so cute and such an intimate dining experience we sat in their heated outdoor dining area. We started off by sharing a lobster roll. I had the jumbo sea scallops that were so delicious! My boyfriend wanted the swordfish but they had just ran out so he had their all natural chicken breast he enjoyed it. The crème brûlée and the German chocolate tart was great. Kats service was very friendly, sweet, she helped add to the wonderful experience of the night! We so greatly appreciated her kind service throughout the night! We would definitely come again and 100% recommend!

So I’ve been here twice now within the span of a month. That goes to show you how great this place is. The last time I went I took my grandmother here for her birthday. She is vision impaired and they were very kind, thoughtful with seating, friendly and just overall amazing. Our server she was just a burst of energy. I wish I remember her name. She came over with just pure kind whole hearted happy that you are here and made my gma have a fabulous experience. As for the food, delicious per usual. We went on a Sunday for brunch. We had two drinks at the bar then two more at the table, two apps, two brunch entrees and a desert all for under $140. Not bad at all. I would recommend this establishment for the food, ambience day or night, good parking for west hartford center, staff , quality of food and a good place for any occasion

We came here to celebrate my birthday. We reserved a seat at the outdoor patio and was not disappointed. The ambience was wonderful with string lights over pergolas. The server staff was courteous and recognized my birthday right away when we sat down. Among the appetizers, the pork belly was the best. It was crunchy on the outside and paired with pickled salad. I had the Monkfish (fish of the day) with seafood cioppino. The sauce was a bit too thick but seasoned well. I chose the cheesecake as dessert. They brought it out with a candle and Happy Birthday written on it. It was a nice touch.

I had an incredible dining experience. We loved how much attention to detail went into everything. The staff was warm and attentive and every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. Plus, they had gluten free options which was fantastic. The ambience was intimate, making it the perfect spot for a special dinner or a cozy night. Highly recommend.

We went for brunch with some friends, and it was overall a great spot! I loved the food (brunch menu was just what I was looking for), but the service was just okay (very pleasant, but felt very scattered and we had to ask for several different things a few times throughout our meal, sometimes more than once). Maybe it was just an off day, so I'd love to go back. I'd say based on this one experience, it was a 4.25/4.5. We had the fresh fruit with ricotta, and avocado toast. They were able to add smoked salmon to the toast even though it wasn't on the menu, which we appreciated. The live music was a nice touch! The outdoor seating looked lovely on a nice spring day. Overall I'd definitely recommend this as a nice brunch spot in West Hartford.

We came here for my mother's birthday last Saturday. Immediately upon being sat down, our server Vince (I hope I got his name right) came over to us and told my mom happy birthday, that they're glad to have us and to enjoy our selves. The food was wonderul, and came out in a respectable time. Meanwhile, Vince was very nice and helped us choose a bottle of wine and brought me some very tasty whiskey sours. I ordered the swordfish, which was amazing. My mom, sister and aunt also enjoyed their meals and had no complaints. At the end of the dinner Vince presented us with a complimentary dessert for my mother's birthday, which meant a lot to her and showed the professional of our server and the crew. ALSO, the bread and butter/oil is incredibly simple but amazing. We couldn't get enough of it. Overall, we all thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our server was amazing and friendly, the food was great and the atmosphere outside was very nice. I'll definitely be coming back at some point. Thank you Vince for helping make it an incredible birthday for my mother, it means a lot! God bless!

Restaurant Bricco was a very nice dinner experience with my parents. First of all, the service was wonderful. Our waitress was very kind and she was very prompt with service. She was on top of things, and I appreciate her. The food came out very quickly, the appetizer and the meals were out very shortly after we ordered them. The food was very nice as well. Now, I will say it was very loud in here, and sustaining a conversation was difficult. But, it was still a nice time. My only recommendation is to get a reservation for your table, because it gets very busy. We had a reservation and had to wait about 20 minutes, so definitely get that reservation. All in all, Restaurant Bricco was a nice experience with good food.

I was told this was the best Italian food in town and they did not disappoint. It was packed with people and they found me a seat and served me quickly. The staff was super friendly. The food was delicious and the portions were more than enough. I was so full, I had no room for dessert. I am definitely going again the next time I'm in town!

After following Chef Billy Grant on social media for over a year, my wife and I finally found time to visit Bricco a few days ago. We drove down from Worcester, MA- over an hour away for dinner and it was well worth it!!! The food, service, atmosphere was unbelievable! Our server (Julia M.) was absolutely amazing! The food was to die for, extremely delicious with an awesome presentation. The desserts were out of this world! Highly recommended!! Thank you for allowing us to have a superb evening! We will be back soon with friends! Happy New Year!

Came here for an early dinner. It was a birthday celebration of 10 people. Service was perfect. Food was amazing. Atmosphere was great. Our waitress made sure we had everything we needed. She was very helpful and on top of things. The food was perfect. The Pene pasta with vodka was as close to a 10/10 dish as you can get. The pork ribs melted right off the bone. The pizza dough was perfectly crisp. The gnocchi was ok. Overall it was delicious. The atmosphere was perfect. Not too loud that we couldn't hear each other talk, and not too quite where everyone else could hear us talking. Overall, amazing experience. Would definitely recommend.

First time dining here and everything was exceptional! Drinks, food and our waiter Brad was very attentive. Highly recommend their pasta dishes, beef carpaccio was very tasty but could've been thinner (I'm picky when it comes to this dish). Creme brule was just right and went very well with salted caramel espresso martini!! 😋

Mary was an amazing waitress! The food was amazing as well as the ambience. Even with Street construction 🚧, it was a great experience and I look forward to going back.

Probably one of my favorite restaurants in CT. Chef Grant is someone who I seeked out to shake his hand. Always consistent, high quality food. From the wings and meatballs to pizza and pasta, you can't go wrong. But if you ever want to see this guys level of genius, no matter what season, No matter what menu rotation, get the scallops. That's where this menu shines. The flavor combinations are incredible.

Really nice night tonight where we shared a bunch of apps and entrees and desserts. I think this is a really fun place to gather with some friends for some drinks and laughs. The pistachio cheesecake was one of the best things I've ever eaten.

We went in for a Christmas Eve dinner. We had a reservation for 7:15 and arrived at 7. We weren’t seated until 7:30. We ordered a drink at the bar while we waited as there wasn’t really anywhere else to wait besides outside in the cold. We had to ask for a new water cup as one of ours was dirty and I had to ask for lemons for my water on 4 separate occasions. The waiter we had was extremely nice, I think it was just too busy for the restaurant to handle and they might have been understaffed on the holiday. However, the food was delicious. We started off with the complimentary bread and butter which was great while we waited. We ordered the onion soup, gougeres (the black truffle gruywre cheese spread was a very good compliment to the pastry), croquettes, and the charcuterie board. I do wish that we saw the dessert menu at the same time as the dinner board as we would’ve chosen the after dinner cheese board instead of the appetizer one as it came with jam and nuts as well. My husband had the tropical rum-tini which wasn’t the best but definitely something unique to try. Can’t say I like the tropical flavors mixed with the espresso. We also ordered the profiteroles (cream puffs) which were AMAZING. Very cute place, loved the atmosphere. Some of the tables did feel slightly close to each other though.

This spot has become the perfect halfway meeting point for me and a dear friend—and it never disappoints. We’ve returned time and time again, and each visit reminds us why. The service is consistently outstanding—attentive, personalized, and always so thoughtful. We love to linger over the delicious charcuterie board, sip on perfectly crafted drinks, and catch up without ever feeling rushed. The relaxed yet elegant atmosphere makes it easy to unwind and truly enjoy the moment. On our most recent visit, we were pleasantly surprised with a birthday firecracker and a decadent dessert—such a special touch that made the night even more memorable. Avert Brasserie continues to be one of our favorite places, and we can’t wait to return again soon.

Happy hour is highly recommended. We come here on every visit to CT and it is always great. The menu was small but really great food. We had oysters to start and then the avert burger. It was really yummy. Perfect medium delicious bun, Gruyère and aioli. Good ingredients put together really well. Then desert came along and it was the equivalent of a mic drop. Check these photos. Vanilla crème brûlée. Great sugar crust and really creamy filling. OMG the cheesecake, cream, pistachios and decorated with these dots of blackberry. Seriously good. My son had the mango sorbet. It was really mango strong. Nothing left in no time. Our sever Anish’s was awesome too. Thanks so much for a great evening

We had an absolutely wonderful evening at this charming French restaurant. From start to finish, everything was top-notch. We started with fresh oysters and mussels that were perfectly prepared—briny, tender, and full of flavor. The kale salad was crisp and well-balanced, and the fresh baked bread was warm and delicious, perfect for soaking up every last bite. For our mains, the filet was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and incredibly flavorful—while the salmon was beautifully seared and melted in your mouth. To drink, we enjoyed a glass of red sangria, which was refreshingly fruity, and an espresso martini that was rich and smooth, a perfect finish to the meal. Special shoutout to our server, Jennifer, who was absolutely delightful. Attentive, warm, and knowledgeable, she made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for an elevated yet inviting dining experience. We’ll definitely be back!

C'est manifique. The best restaurant I've ever stumbled across by happy accident. A friendly greeting and comfortable window seat, the menu with interesting and mysterious foods I've never tried. We settled on Croquet monsieur with salad, (grilled ham and cheese that is like nothing you've ever tasted before, crunchy, gooey deliciousness in every bite) And Pan Bagnat with salad,( tuna with tapenade and aioli- chewy crunch bread smeared with tuna salad, tapenade (olives). Tuna with a tangy kick) We cut our sandwiches in two and each savored our halves of the two excellent délices culinaires (culinary delights) The piéce de résistance, the chef's kiss, was an exquisite créme brulée. Every bite smooth and lucious with creamy, sugary, toasty crunch. Our server was so nice and attentive. The ambiance warm, welcoming filled with lovely seasonal touches. Classic jazz music, the perfect soundtrack. I want to visit again very soon and I don't care that I need to drive 4 hours round trip to do it.

Visited for a date night before our show at the Bushnell and it was phenomenal! Our waitress was so attentive, and even paced our meal so we could get to the theatre in time! The food was tres magnifique; we both scraped our plates clean! I cannot recommend the duck canard and the beef bourginion enough! And definitely get the wine special to go with, the chef is extremely talented.

We had a wonderful time at Avert this evening. The food was fantastic - all 3 diners in our party loved their meals. One friend mentioned that the bread was the best he had ever had. Deserts were seasonal and amazing. Wait staff was attentive but not intrusive which was great because we were talking so much. Meticulous and classy all the way! Highly recommend! Bravo!
