Great spot to snorkel, many different types of animals, beautiful waters.

This is an absolutely stunning spot to go snorkeling! I highly recommend doing so through a local - he can be found on Airbnb through Experiences - it's called "The Arches." You can also locate him by his Instagram handle - adrenalyn_junkies - 10/10!

We arrived as part of a boat cruise. Only got to experience the snorkeling for about 15 minutes. What we did see was several school of fish although the water was a bit murky. We never went on land.
JetPhan 5 — Google review
We took a small boat tour out to the arches Very stunning to see up close and to enter into one of the arches Good snorkeling and paddle board area but I find the water too murky for good snorkeling The east side of the country (in the Caribbean off Yucatan especially by Puerto Morales) it much better both for clear water and amazing sea life in the barrier reefs Still better to take a boat ride around Los Arcoles than trying to see them from the observation point along the highway.

Nature & Parks
Los Muertos Beach is a bustling and lively spot in Puerto Vallarta, known for its vibrant atmosphere and variety of activities. Legend has it that the beach got its name from ancient tombs discovered when homes were first built along the coast. The iconic dock, resembling a spiraling conch shell, adds to the unique charm of this beach. Visitors can indulge in fresh-caught shrimp and refreshing drinks from local vendors or relax at palapa-lined bars and restaurants.
Pretty clean. Lots of options for food a drink. Perfect place for a sunset.

Great beach. Sunny, warm, surf a little strong. Very popular, need to be there early. Many beach side restaurants.
Dennis R — Google review
The greatest experience in PV, I absolutely loved and I highly recommend to spend the whole time at the beach, nice atmosphere and people. The stuff at beach clubs were very nice and friendly.
Jonatas P — Google review
Easy access from zone romantica. Lots beach restaurants around here. It’s pretty busy. Nice sunset views. It’s low season so we are here enjoying some way quieter beach moments. Keep eyes out for your valuable stuff. Bring a waterproof bag and take your cell phone with you if you want to go chill in the water.
Jo L — Google review
It's a beautiful sandy beach. But the waves were too high and we could not swim. I went there for New years Eve and you can see the best fireworks from there.
Deepak J — Google review
Extremely crowded. The beach is not very wide, maybe 10 meters, and it is surrounded by high-rise apartments and hotels that come up right to the sand. Many restaurants set up tables right on the beach, even more right next to it in the apartment buildings. The sand looks dirty, and is full of umbrellas set up by various businesses, not much room to walk at all. A lot of boat and tour operators hanging around trying to peddle their services. Quality of the water can only be described as "interesting."
Bobby C — Google review
Nice beach, pretty popular, but not overly crowded. Lots of people selling snacks along the beach and near the bathrooms. The waves were bigger/stronger than we expected, and since I'm afraid of swimming in the ocean, I didn't love it, but it wasn't a bad beach. 😅 Some areas are hard to walk on without shoes because of all the rocks. Very coarse sand, almost no seashells.
Leigh-Anne C — Google review
Busy area with lots of families having a great time. Lots of facilities and restaurants on the promenade with a very short walk to restaurants and shops one block from the oceanfront. Fun to walk onto the pier and people watch and see the little boats and water taxis.. Not polluted but there were a lot of leaves near the peer floating on the waves ; the only noticeable (extremely slight) comment. The water is clean and the surf is not too big.

Café des Artistes is a fine dining venue located in Puerto Vallarta, offering elegant tasting menus with a vegetarian option. The restaurant features live music and a garden terrace, providing a charming ambiance for diners. Situated in the heart of Old Town, this establishment is part of the vibrant culinary scene in the area, which includes numerous gay-friendly eateries offering diverse cuisines such as German, Mexican, Italian, international dishes, American fare, seafood specialties, and Mex-Tex cuisine.
This place is not a restaurant. It’s an experience, so be prepared! Starting with the absolutely gorgeous decor that will literally leave you speechless. Continuing with the attentive, professional yet very friendly service. And ending with the artwork, I mean the food dishes… which are really more like art than anything else. Many interesting flavors and ingredients that the waiter explained to us for each dish. We spent about two hours there and left feeling elated, satisfied and inspired. Highly recommended.

We had our anniversary dinner here and it was such a brilliant experience. The hostess was great and the food served was tasty and catered to us being vegetarians. I opted for the wine pairing which was an experience. It got real busy and that’s when the atmosphere and the experience felt too busy. But I think it’s a good reflection of living life and enjoying great things.
Manav C — Google review
Great food, nice atmosphere, and excellent service. They also have very good cocktails, beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The place itself is stunning — located right in the center of Puerto Vallarta, with a gorgeous garden that makes you forget you’re in the middle of the city. There’s often live music, perfectly balanced so you can still talk and enjoy your meal. The combination of good food, a calm ambiance, and friendly staff makes it a wonderful place to spend the evening. It’s a bit expensive, but absolutely worth it for the quality, the atmosphere, and the experience. Perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a special night out in Puerto Vallarta.

Our server Leonel and the staff at cafe des artistes made my birthday dinner incredibly special! Thank you so much! There was a festival going on where guest chefs “take over” another restaurants kitchen. When we dined where a chef that has a Michelin star restaurant in Hong Kong created majority of the dishes on our tasting menu. We sat in the garden terrace, it was a little bit cheesy with the violinist coming around and playing for people but I think a lot of restaurants do that in PV. Overall it was a lovely fine dining experience that was definitely worth it for a special occasion. Thank you!!
Maya O — Google review
From the moment we walked in, we were awed. The restaurant is a stunner for sure. We luckily sat inside right next to the windows showcasing the garden. For service, a huge win here: both our server (Jorge) and wine sommelier (Javier) were huge wins, with friendly service and very helpful - to note our wine selection was flawless. And the musicians - please keep them forever. Where it comes down a star was the food, as it was hit or miss. Some dishes were outright hits (the lamb), some were average (ny steak), some missed (puff pastry beef). Some portions were very French in terms of size; the joke “essence of vegetable” kept coming up at our table when presented with one inch of zucchini. The desserts also were split over the quality - the meringue and the chocolate taco were wins, the Carmel banana dish was found to be too sweet.

We were vacationing in PV for our friend's 40th birthday and this was our one special birthday dinner. We did the tasting menu with wine pairing. Compared to US prices, the menu was a steal. It was the right amount of food and it was all so good. It was nice to have a choice for each course too. Jorge and Jonatan also did a lovely surprise for our friend's birthday when we got to the final dessert course. Made it extra special. Definitely a memorable experience.

On the pricey side, BUT totally worth it! My daughter and I got the 6 course meal. The food was amazing. We reserved a table in the Garden there is a booking prepay but the whole amount toward your bill.
Dawn H — Google review
Our recent experience was utterly unacceptable. The service and meal were subpar, and the manager and wait staff exhibited a lack of accountability. We were seated in the garden, which was undoubtedly beautiful, but it was plagued by insects, ants, and debris from the trees and plants that fell into our $35+ CAD beverages. Despite us immediately notifying our server, he responded with indifference and failed to provide a solution. He just shrugged and said there’s nothing he can do. We requested napkins to cover our drinks and removed the insects and tree bark from our glasses. We did not wish to contaminate our meals with insects and leaves so we asked our server for a new table inside which he said could be accommodated. We attempted to pace our meal by ordering appetizers first and entrees later. Unfortunately, the server denied our request and insisted that we order everything at once. While this was acceptable, we kindly requested that each item be served individually so that we could fully appreciate each before proceeding. By the time our server located an empty table for us, we were told to carry our own drinks to the table where all three of our hot appetizers were already waiting for us. To our dismay, each appetizer was cold, and no salt or pepper was provided. The server also failed to provide a sufficient number of spoons for the table, so my husband and I were forced to share a spoon to consume the soup, which is an unacceptable practice. Throughout our dining experience, we were consistently neglected and unable to get the attention of any staff member. Notably, my mother-in-law inadvertently left her water glass at the first table, resulting in the removal of the water we had paid for. When we brought this matter to the attention of the server, he failed to retrieve the water glass or water until we had to request it a second time. When I expressed my evident frustration regarding the service and the fact that they got rid of our water, the server responded dismissively, snapping back at me, “This water will be free then”. However, our request was not for complimentary water; we just wanted some baseline service. To exacerbate the situation, 3/4 of our entrees arrived, but the shrimp entree I had ordered was missing. Despite our repeated inquiries, no one could provide an explanation. Fifteen minutes later, our server informed me that the order had not been processed, leaving me to sit while the other three diners at our table consumed their dinner. The server said it would take 12 minutes to make the shrimp entree I had ordered. I was shocked at this response and told the server to just leave it as my family had already finished eating at that point. Although I am not typically confrontational, this was a $850 CAD dinner, and I was both hungry and frustrated. Consequently, I stood up and informed the server that I needed to speak with the manager. Surprisingly, as soon as I rose and engaged in a conversation with the manager, the 3 members of the serving crew simultaneously brought the bill to the table and activated the bill payment machine. This was the quickest service we had experienced throughout the entire evening After discussing the situation with the manager, he was apologetic and explained that they had hired a guest chef, which had contributed to their busy dinner service. He offered to cover the cost of the meal, but unfortunately, the servers seized upon the opportunity to have my father-in-law pay while I was engaged in the discussion with the manager. This just further reinforced the lack of accountability and competence of staff at this restaurant. Overall, this was a profoundly disappointing experience, and I strongly encourage others to not dine here. This is an expensive place and I would hate to have someone’s special night be ruined by the lack of service and poor communication. Cafe des artiste is an utterly inadequate excuse for a high-end restaurant. If you want to go somewhere really special with great service and exceptional food, try Iguana at Casa Kimberly.

Taco restaurant
Pancho's Takos is a popular spot known for its traditional Mexican dishes and laid-back atmosphere. Since 1989, it has been drawing in both locals and tourists with its delicious tacos al pastor. The menu has expanded over the years to include stuffed avocados, au gratin potatoes with various toppings, quesadillas, cheese alambres, and an array of melted cheeses.
This little eat-and-go taco joint had everything—the sauce, the spice, and a whole lot of sass. And honestly? I was living for it. The al pastor? Worth writing a love letter over. I ordered way too much and have no regrets. The pork chop tacos? An all-out flavor explosion—like a fireworks show in your mouth. Pro tip: just order the whole menu and thank yourself later. Heads-up: it’s tiny, and yes, there will be a wait. But try not to drool on the sidewalk—it’s not a good look (unless you’re drooling over the tacos, then carry on).
Vu N — Google review
We were told that they don’t do “to go” when we walked in. It was packed inside and outside and it was sweltering hot. None of that took away from how delicious the pastor tacos were! We also ordered beef and chicken but honestly, I wish I had ordered more pastor, because they were that good. Cash only.
Abby H — Google review
The waiter said the order slip we filled out was too much food (10 tacos). He said to order the plate of 4 tacos. If still hungry, order more. That was the best advice. They were great. We were fortunate that there was a table available when we arrived. Usually, there is a line. I can't wait to return.
John G — Google review
Watched a couple YouTube videos about this place and wanted to see if it lived up to the hype. We waited in line for about 40 minutes and I just have to say, I definitely would do it again! This place doesn’t mess around, they are on it. The space itself is pretty tight and warm in the summer, but it doesn’t even matter! I had the tacos al pastor and a pineapple margarita both were fantastic! Can’t wait to come back😋
Rebecca H — Google review
Believe the hype. Best Al Pastor tacos. Who cares about the line. It moves pretty quickly. Get yourself a Limon margarita while you wait. 😉 The Al pastor were pretty hefty and stacked with meat, so order less tacos than you normally eat.
Nat N — Google review
OMG – This Place is Amazing! 🌮🔥 Let me start by saying: yes, you might have to wait in line—but trust me, it is 100% worth it. We waited about 15 minutes before getting a table inside, and from that point on, everything was incredible. We kicked things off with two micheladas, which were absolutely amazing. If you're a fan, do yourself a favor and get one—you won’t regret it. For food, we went a little overboard and ordered 4 pastor tacos and 4 steak & chorizo tacos. Our server warned us it might be too much, but we were hungry and ready. When the food came out, I was blown away. These tacos were massive—packed with meat—and every bite was bursting with flavor. The pastor tacos were hands down the best I’ve ever had. Juicy, perfectly seasoned, with just the right amount of char. Truly next-level. The chorizo tacos were equally impressive—some of the best chorizo I’ve ever tasted. We couldn’t finish everything, which just meant we got to take some amazing leftovers home. No complaints there! This place is an easy 11/10. I’ll definitely be back soon.
Justin H — Google review
Not the cheapest taco stand, but the best value in my opinion. You can get cheaper, but there's often a pittance of meat. This place stacks it on like it's Christmas. Salsas are great (be careful, 1 of them and the onion slaw they give you will make you hurt the next day 🥵💩). It's not fancy, but always has a line, very chaotic busy. Not the kind of place you linger to long. They're efficient- seat, order, eat, pay, go. The line moves fast. I love the beef short rib and Al pastor, but that's all I've tried. Sadly no lengua. Dine in only. With a drink, you can get away with under 200 per person, depending what you order. 3 tacos was enough to fill me, and I love to eat.

Excellent food and service in a perfect spot. Food was clearly marked for gluten free needs (thank you!). Grilled fish tacos for me — SO good! Very filling. My husband had the shrimp ceviche and oysters, he loved them both. Service was top tier, loved our lunch here.

Beautiful restaurant with an amazing location. We had dinner on the sand, on a magical full moon. The food is creative, definitely a modern take on coastal Mexican food. All flavors were on point, fresh, and unique to traditional Mexican cuisine. Staff was very attentive, friendly and accommodating. This is a place I highly recommend for a nice dinner out, or a romantic evening. Recommended to make reservations for dinner service on the beach.

We walked the beachfront or boards after walking el malecón. The place is peaceful and tranquil lights. Live music and in fact pretty good with both Spanish and English covers. You are greeted at the door and quickly sat down. It was a hot day and fans were setup for comfort. A cold towel and water is served ahead of anything else. A plus for me. A waiter then comes and takes drink orders and is assisted in serving additional drinks and ice is often served. We order calamari, Del Mar dish and the steak and lobster. I also tried the house specialty drink for the month of September. A tuna margarita with pomegranate juice, it was ok. It is garnished with both the tuna fruit and the pomegranate seeds but the blend of flavors were not there. The calamari was very tender and mostly lime /lemon flavor it missed the mark on crunchy and flavor. Del Mar was also ok, blend and small portions, just enough to have a state of each. I did not enjoy the sauce and potatoes at the bottom. But I also like to see my food and the low lighting prevented that. The steak and lobster was a good portion, enough for 2 people. Tender well cooked steak and juice lobster. That was nice in presentation as well as taste. Overall a good place to visit. The bathrooms are clean and air conditioned.

Amazing food! We tried the shrimp tacos and their calamari’s and omg it did not disappoint us! Cocktail drinks were also on point! Highly recommend this place!
Adilene P — Google review
Overall an attractive restaurant with a pleasant ambience. Unfortunately it is VERY expensive even by Los Angeles standards. US$17.50 (MX$315) for a margarita is a bit much for PV! While the service was very good, ALL of our food was pretty bland. I started with the fig salad and followed with the catch of the day (Mahi mahi) which was sauteed with grilled vegetables and served on a bed of mashed potatoes that I'm pretty sure were made from a box. The fish was cooked nicely but was very bland. The salad was ok but not particularly memorable. My wife had the crab cake appetizer followed by scallops for the entre. The crab cakes were both bland and salty as were the scallops. We finished with flan for dessert and it was good. Given the price (it was the most expensive meal we had in PV for the week and we ate at adjacent La Palapa and Si Senior beach front restaurants for notably lower cost earlier in the week.

Server was excellent! Extremely accommodating to gluten and dairy allergies. All food seemed extremely fresh and perfectly cooked. We enjoyed the steak and lobster, the crab enchiladas, the bone marrow and lobster tacos, the tarragon shrimp, the local fresh catch which was Mahi-Mahi, hibiscus guava margaritas, regular margaritas and multiple different tequilas. The experience in setting were great, however, some prices seemed quite high. I understand that you are paying for the ambiance and the setting. I will definitely be back. The pricing does not deter me, just a note.

When exploring the vibrant culinary scene of Barcelona, tapas are a must-try experience. One standout spot in El Centro offers an impressive array of dishes that truly capture the essence of Spanish cuisine. Renowned for its exceptional paella Valenciana, this restaurant also serves up delightful tapas like spicy garlic shrimp and Galician-style octopus that are simply unforgettable. The ambiance is inviting, with air conditioning to keep you cool during summer months and open windows allowing for a refreshing breeze at other times of the year.
We have been back in Houston a couple days and have told everyone we talk to about what a Great experience we had here. Enrique and his partners provided top notch service. The food was wonderful. The drinks they served were as good as the food. The view of the Sunset was just an added bonus... This Spanish restaurant is absolutely amazing and left such a lasting impression on me. The food is outstanding! every dish is full of bold, authentic flavors that come together beautifully. It’s the kind of meal that makes you appreciate every bite. The setting is just as impressive as the food. The rooftop view overlooking the ocean is breathtaking, and watching the sunset from there is truly unforgettable. It’s the perfect backdrop for such an incredible dining experience. On top of that, the staff is wonderful, so welcoming, attentive, and friendly. Their hospitality made the whole experience feel even more special. Overall, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone. We were a group of 14 celebrating a birthday. We had an 8pm reservation and pretty much had the whole roof dining area to ourselves. The staffs were amazing and welcoming. We decided to let the staff order for us. We got complimentary bread and potato salad then we each had a bowl of seafood soup, bacon wrapped dates, garlic shrimp, paellas, grilled octopus and eggplant. The food was tasty and we were stuffed to the brim. The octopus was tender and grilled perfectly. The paella had a strong seafood taste. The spicy dip is extremely spicy. They made the birthday boy feel extra special. They sang for us, gave us flan, lava cake and ice cream. Don’t skip the lava cake. It was one of the best I’ve had. They also gave us a round of shots! We highly recommend this restaurant for groups.

It was our first time in Puerto Vallarta, and we kept seeing this place recommended in Facebook groups for its amazing ambiance, delicious food, and stunning sunset views—so we had to check it out. It absolutely lived up to the hype! We originally planned to go to LC but after reading that the food here was even better, we decided to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary here instead—and we’re so glad we did. Everything was perfect. Special thanks to Jesús and his team for their outstanding service. You helped make the evening truly unforgettable. Thank you for a beautiful and memorable night!

Unforgettable Evening at Barcelona Tapas , Deserves 10 Stars! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. We came to Puerto Vallarta expecting a quiet dinner, and found so much more: a breathtaking experience. From the very first moment, the warmth and attentiveness of the service was unlike anything we’ve experienced in a long time. As two French women living in Canada, and regular visitors to Puerto Vallarta for the past three years, we’ve seen many places… but this Thursday evening was pure magic. A live flamenco night ,with real, passionate, professional dancers , set the tone. The view? Simply stunning. The food? Exquisite. And the atmosphere? A gem hidden from the crowds, perfect for genuine, quality time. We both work in high-end hospitality, with over 20 years of experience in fine dining and luxury service , the kind where guests are greeted with cold towels from the very entrance. And still, tonight left us speechless. Thank you to the chefs: every bite was a journey to Spain. Thank you to the staff( Rafael , David and all the Tesm ) : for the heartfelt welcome, the grace, the attention to detail. You truly deliver something rare. We’ve already shared stories on our Instagram and we’ll be telling all our friends: Barcelona Tapas is now one of our absolute favorite restaurants , truly incomparable. With deep gratitude, Bach & Laurie

We visited here 19 years ago, and the owner is still the same. A lot has changed, but has only gotten better. Located several blocks above the malecon and just behind the church downtown, this place has great views. The Castilla Sangria was amazing. The dishes are large enough to share. Our favorite was the Batas Gravas, which was crispy and spicy. English widely spoken. Location has an elevator. Credit cards accepted. Service was excellent. We will be back again.
