Specialty Museums
The Museo Regional de Querétaro is located in the historic Ex Convent of San Francisco, a 16th-century colonial convent that served as a significant center for evangelization. The museum features six exhibition rooms showcasing artifacts and items from archaeological sites in the area, including photographs, models, utensils, and vessels.
I recently visited the Regional Museum of Querétaro and was thoroughly impressed by the experience. The museum is housed in the historic Former Monastery of San Francisco, which adds a unique charm to the visit. The organization of the exhibits is very good, making it easy to follow the historical timeline and understand the context of each artifact. Here some highlights for me: 1. Archaeological and Historical Exhibits: The museum showcases a rich collection of artifacts, including sculptures, ceramics, weapons, paintings, and clothing from the Querétaro region. These exhibits provide a deep dive into the history and culture of the area, particularly focusing on the Otomi and Chichimeca ethnic groups. 2. Colonial and Independence Periods: The museum also highlights the multi-colored society of the viceregal period and the early independence period of Mexico. This section includes fascinating items from churches and monastery libraries, reflecting the social, economic, and political structures of the time. 3. Permanent and Temporary Galleries: The museum features seven permanent galleries and three temporary exhibition spaces, ensuring there is always something new to see. The quality of the exhibits is top-notch, with detailed descriptions and well-preserved artifacts. The museum is well-organized, with clear signage and informative displays that guide visitors through the various sections. The quality of the artifacts is exceptional, and the museum does a great job of preserving and presenting them in a way that is both educational and engaging. Overall, the Regional Museum of Querétaro is a must-visit for anyone interested in the rich history and culture of this region. The combination of its historic setting, well-curated exhibits, and high-quality artifacts makes it a standout attraction.

This museum is so interesting! In particular, it told a lot about the indigenous history of the region (something I haven’t seen in some other museums I visited in the area) and really enjoyed the exhibits on Mexican Independence and the Revolution. It only took us about an hour to go through the museum, but I easily could have spent a lot more time there—if you’re going to visit one museum in Querétaro, I’d recommend it be this one.
Cassandra C — Google review
COST: 90 pesos WORTH IT RATING: 6/10 The actual building that this museum is in, is an old convent several hundred years old. The architecture and the inner courtyard with a fountain are stunning and the best part of the visit. You can capture beautiful photos here. The information in the museum is ALL in Spanish, and very information heavy. If you speak Spanish, and enjoy large blocks of text, then this could be an enjoyable experience for you. It would take several hours to go through the entire museum and read everything. If you are fine with just walking around and perusing the old artifacts, clothing, and paintings, it could also be somewhat interesting. I felt the museum had a lot of potential and a lot of interesting info that i would have liked to learn, but the large quantities of text in Spanish made it feel overwhelming and dissatisfying.
Nichole P — Google review
A really cool museum to visit guys! Only cost 85 pesos, spent almost 2 hours(like to take my time in museum) lot of things to read about the cultul and the history of Mexico. A must go if you come here to visit!! Enjoyyy

(Translated by Google) The Hill of Bells is often used for sweet 15 photos, weddings, etc. It's nice to walk around and look at the statue of Benito Juarez, but don't buy tickets for the museum. It's not worth it; most of the so-called interactive devices don't work. You just read a few slides and that's it. Entrance to the park costs $7 and the museum is $23. DO NOT PAY THE $23. Besides, they have clowns who don't let you bring anything in. They even stole a keychain I had in my bag, so why not buy toys? (Original) El cerro de las campanas lo utilizan mucho para fotos de 15 años , bodas etc. Esta bien para caminar y mirar la estatua de Benito Juárez, pero nooo compres los boletos para el museo. My fav museum in Queretaro. They have a few rooms displaying arts from different artists. Some are really amazing and unforgettable.

The museum was nice. Most of the exhibitions are contemporary. There is not much classic art. Admission is free. Staff are friendly. It is not a very big museum.

Amazing architecture, security, exhibits, and events nearly every hour and day they are open! Go at least once a week and appreciate the Centro area.
Joel B — Google review
The Museum was once a cloister for St Agustin. It houses various temporary exhibitions, mainly from Mexican artists. And is worth visiting. The building itself is magnificent with XVIII Baroque architecture. The museum is free to access.
Carlos B — Google review
This majestic museum is free to enter. The building is wonderful and the sun lights up its orange walls. It had several exhibitions, all were well curated and beautifully displayed. This is a must see when in Queretaro
Graham S — Google review
This art museum is a gem of Querétaro. In addition to being free (there's not even a donation box and I have never been in any museum in any city without a donation box), it has a varied and interesting collection and is housed in an impressive architectural building which in itself is a work of art. Formerly the Augustinian monastery, the building is spacious and comfortable. The works are somewhat shockingly unprotected and virtually outdoors but I guess if your climate is arid enough this is fine? Anyway, worth a visit and worth your time.
Anna S — Google review
A free art museum housed in a beautiful old Augustine Monastery with some lovely examples of contemporary and historical local art. Currently under renovations that are adding even more exhibit space. It only takes an hour and a half to get through, but it's worth every minute.

A fabulous location to visit at dusk and enjoy the city lighting up and the moon rising before you. Tremendous vistas!!! Great for photographers!
Bill D — Google review
Fantastic views of the city and the aqueduct. I wish we had visited at night to see the city lights. Easy walk down to centro.
Brian K — Google review
Great view point close to many historic monuments and interests. But honestly not the best view of the los arcos. Because of all the unevenly constructed houses and buildings. the best view is from the beginning of road that leads to the mirador. But I highly recommend visiting this view point.
Patric V — Google review
Nice panoramic viewpoint- it’s free to see, so no cost associated with it. The only thing is if it’s a busy time there might not be enough railing space for you to get a selfie’s/ pics, so you might have to wait a bit.
M C — Google review
The viewpoint is located a few blocks away from the terminal part of the aqueduct. Its a pretty good spot to take in the full scope of the arches. Its clean, and safe at least during the daytime. There are a few vendors and there is an interesting cemetery nearby. A 15, maybe 20 minute visit should suffice.
Bobby C — Google review
Such an amazing spot! The view from Mirador de los Arcos is incredible. And it’s not just the viewpoint there’s a bunch of interesting historical places around it too, so it’s fun to walk around and explore a bit. If you can, go in the evening. When the aqueduct lights up at night, it looks absolutely beautiful. The whole area gets a really nice vibe. Definitely worth checking out!
Johanna — Google review
Very well maintained location. It has a Police presence pretty much all the time. Local handicrafts are for selling across the street. People there are very friendly, the area is clean with a great view of Querétaro and the famous old water systems arcs. Uber gets easy and easy to leave as well 👍

This museum showcases a diverse collection of contemporary art within an ancient baroque structure adorned with intricate figures. The museum's cross-linked patios, mysterious hallways, and spacious rooms filled with light provide a captivating setting for both local and international artists' works.
A nice collection of contemporary art in a nice comfortable space. There was quite a variety in the art displayed. I enjoyed the exhibits. As I recall, there was no admission cost.

Top notch museum. We didn't make plans for our visit here, but wanderers stumble on great things. This was one of our favorite museums that we visited so far in Mexico. The collection is great. I don't know how much the rotate exhibits, but I found it inspiring!

What a beautiful use of an old convent. The exhibits were varied and really interesting. They have stairs or an elevator. The staff was kind and helpful. And it is free and there is a lovely plaza and church adjacent. Go!

we went not knowing what to expect, and we really enjoyed the second floor: it was a feast of very Mexican colors! we also enjoyed the patio at the entrance in the afternoon light, very very interesting!
Federico G — Google review
This place is AMAZING! Super modern in an historic renovated convent located in one of the plazas in the historic centro! The renovation of the building is it's own feature! We were stunned at the super cool exhibits which some were over-the-top funky. The Sunday we went there was no entrance fee which we couldn't believe. As you enter the outdoor space the first thing we notice was a giant Salvador Dali structure. Go inside and there was a variety of exhibits from artist all over the world. It ended up being the highlight of our trip to Queretaro!
In M — Google review
Great small contemporary art museum in a former convent and it’s free! The volume of the spaces accentuate the art perfectly, and a good variety of modern art.

Located in the heart of downtown, Templo de San Francisco is a historic religious site with origins dating back to 1550. The temple, completed in 1640, was the first religious building constructed in Queretaro and played a significant role in the urban development of New Spain. It served as a cathedral for several years and now houses the Regional Museum of Queretaro.
Impressive building, but I actually enjoyed the plaza outside more than inside the church itself.
Joel I — Google review
Most churches in Queretaro are ok looking but will not make a lasting impression on a visitor. This one is no different. It has a rich and interesting history but overall it is not so different from other churches in Mexico as to stand out.
Bobby C — Google review
Construction of Queretaros' first religious building began in the late 1500s. The temple of San Francisco acted as a convent church, cemetery, and orchard. It is located in the historical center of Santiago de Queretaro. From 1852 to 1922, it functioned as a Catholic cathedral. The architecture is a mix of Baroque and Neoclassical styles. During the centuries, the site has received numerous renovations and upgrades. Unfortunately, most of the temples and chapels from the 16th and 17th centuries were destroyed during the reform war of 1858-1861.

The Mucal Museum Calendar, located in the historic center, is a unique museum that showcases decades of Mexican calendar art. The museum consists of 19 exhibition rooms displaying original artworks and over 400 retro-style calendars. Housed in a beautifully renovated mansion with gardens and courtyards, it offers a journey through time and space. Visitors can explore the political and commercial messages in 20th-century calendar art and compare calendars from different civilizations.
I was unsure given the name but the Calendar Museum is wonderful. The building and grounds alone are worth the visit. I was impressed with the amount of rooms and the quality of the of the displays. In the back of the garden is a cafe restaurant.
Graham S — Google review
Interesting and quick calendar info through the decades but take the time to sit in the peaceful beautiful garden.
Gonz C — Google review
Probably one of the most interesting museums I have been to, it sounds boring but the reviews here are right when they say you will have fun in this museum. It's very fascinating to look at different types of calendars and calendar arts from all over the world. You can also buy something from their cafe with the ticket you bought. All in all, a really good deal that you shouldn't miss when in Queretaro.
Nicole — Google review
This was an interesting museum! After about 20 minutes I started wondering why there are so many calendars here. I didn't realize this was a calendar museum. LOL. Then I said OH!! It was really interesting seeing the different calendar art and the other art presented. I think you will enjoy this museum. You can easily spend an hour or two looking around and they have beautiful gardens.
S R — Google review
Its a beautiful place, with a great patio and terrace.
Andrea C — Google review
Educational but mostly fun to see how cultural norms are reflected in the art of Mexican calendars. Probably better to go with someone to exchange observations. The interior garden is phenomenal and cool, and there are some interesting views from the terraza.
Kyle M — Google review
Never realized how important calendars have been to the Mexican culture. Dating back to the Mayan civilizations the calendar museum dates the chronological history of the calendars. Also showcasing beautiful art galleries from Mexican painters. The building showcases some of Queretaro's architecture with green courtyards and a nice restaurant and bar. The terrace by far was my favorite place. Sitting in the benches with the cool mountain breeze and the amazing views from around the city. A must if you are in the area.

German style beer garden! Although the Bretzeln are not really authentic the beer is tasty. Different styles from Pilsner to Stout in acceptable sizes. Employees act fast and are attentive. I suggest the Haxe (Chamorro) feels little like Germany. Feels comfy in the afternoon so bring time!

Always a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather Querétaro has to offer with a nice cold craft beer. Life doesn't get much better, that is, unless you get the pizza. Oh, and the German sausages go down very easy with those beers.

Food can improve, and I definitely could pass on it. It was very busy, so the staff did not come around often, and we had to flag them down, which seemed to bother them a bit. The beer was good, and they had a good selection.
Alejandra V — Google review
The food is just okay, but their beers and pizza are delicious. The service was spotty, but the place is huge, so probably lots of walk time from kitchen/bar to the tables. Check out the gift shop for t-shirts, stickers, and take-home beers. With all of that said, the atmosphere in the place is unmatched, especially at night. The most amazing ambiance that I've ever seen. 100% recommended!

La Biznaga Arte y Café is a popular spot in the historic center of Queretaro, known for its delicious breakfast and diverse menu. The restaurant features a quirky interior with graffiti and various art pieces, creating a fun and funky atmosphere. It offers modern Mexican cuisine using fresh, local ingredients sourced from small producers, emphasizing sustainability. While the extensive menu may not initially seem to cater to vegan options, the attentive staff can accommodate special dietary preferences.
We visited this place on a Friday at 11 am and found a line to get seated, but we didn’t mind the wait. The atmosphere inside the restaurant reminded me of the famous ruin bars in Budapest; the design is extraordinary and even a bit bizarre, but in a fun and enjoyable way. Although there was another wait for the food, it was worth it because everything was delicious! Plus, the prices are super affordable. I’d definitely come again!

Nestled in the heart of Queretaro, 'María y su Bici' has blossomed from a humble eatery into a beloved dining destination with multiple locations. This vibrant spot captures the essence of Oaxacan cuisine, offering an array of mouthwatering dishes like stuffed chile pasilla and crispy tlayudas, all served in a lively atmosphere that embodies the spirit of Mexico.
I visited Maria y su bici for dinner and I had a really good experience. Food was delicious, incredible service and great atmosphere (it feels like a small piece of Oaxaca/Yucatan). Definitely I’d go back to try Queso Relleno.

Very nice place, must !. The food was really nice but not exceptional compared to some other restaurants I tried. Friendly service and you can taste excellent mezcal (some can be very pricey though but worth I think)

María y du Bici is a nice Mexican restaurant with cuisine from Oaxaca. The service was friendly and the menu has a wide variety of dishes. The food was very tasty and the drinks good. The ambience is very Mexican and together with the live music invites you to linger.

Maria y su bici is an amazing place for delicious food in Queretaro! I had a tlayudas with avocado and cheese and it was super good! The vibe is also amazing, with live music during the day and nice decoration on the walls. The staff is super friendly! Definitely worth going! Gracias :)

Loved it! Authentic Oaxacan cuisine. One of the few restaurants I wanted to return to immediately. Service is a bit inconsistent but the food makes up for it. Get the mezcal with chocolate and chili - you can thank me later

Just arrived to the city and the front desk clerk suggested this place. We try it out…. The menu was too funny and the drinks excellent… mesl id good but high in condiments please keep that in mind and you should have no problem at all .. enjoy
Luis P — Google review
This was one of the best meals I have had in Mexico to date! The portions were beyond generous (read: I did NOT finish my plate) and filled with flavours. The variety of Mezcal was pleasant and the taste sweet. The variety of deserts was equally quite surprising. I was told by my local friends that the food is traditional and one of the best available in the region and my taste buds have to agree. The service was equally respectful and worthy of a family venue. Above and beyond satisfied. The memories will stay with me for a long time!

I have been here several times since 2012 but it recently lost a bit of its edge it had before. Still nice but not as excellent as before.

It is right in the middle of QRO town center. Service and food were excellent. The staff were very friendly. The service was quick. It has various seating arrangements such as lower level, upper level and terrace. It has good interior vibes as well.

What started out on a “sour note,” Google maps not cooperating and our arrival a bit cold; turned into a delightful evening of fabulous wine, the best pulpo and pizza straight out of Milan! We were a party of 4 and decided this would be our “last” night dinner. It was a great choice, the Lamb chops and the Pasta with clams were a huge success. The gracious owner/manager included a lemon cello to seal the deal!

This place is very pretty. We ordered vegetarian pizza. The pizza base was very Italian. It was soft in the middle and sides were crunchy. The green sauce on the base of pizza was giving a very spicy effect And I really liked it. The ambience of the restaurant was very comfy and natural. The service was good and the pizza was tasty. I really liked the place.

Incredibly beautiful restaurant with great service and food, highly recommended!
J D — Google review
I would give this 4 stars but my husband felt it deserved only 2 stars. We were seated promptly and our orders were taken, I felt service was fine and my grilled Caesar Salad and octopus dish was delicious. Unfortunately my husbands ravioli was mediocre and cold, he felt that the service was concentrated on some other tables and they did not really acknowledge nor apologize for his cold food. The restaurant does had a very nice atmosphere.
Brian P — Google review
We had a very nice dinner at Vino. The cream soup was very good, the salmon, and the lasagna, were all excellent. I enjoyed a Chardonney, and husband had Merlot. These were the "lower" priced wine by the glass options and were both excellent. The service was very attentive. We dined here on Sept. 15, when there was a lot of street activity due to Independence Day-eve celebrations, but inside was quiet and not crowded. All in all a very nice experience!

Was visiting Queretaro after long time. We stopped by Di Vino for dinner. We were seated on outside patio terrace. It’s a much nicer vintage interior with plants. Food and wine was impeccable. Would come again for Italian food and desserts.

Best meal I had in Queretero by miles. Food was delicious, full of flavor, and unique. This restaurant honors Mexican heritage and ingredients in their cooking and it shows. Veggie Happy is a delightful vegan restaurant that promises to satisfy not just plant-based eaters but everyone who walks through its doors. Even if you're not a vegetarian, this charming spot in Queretaro is worth a visit. The menu features an array of scrumptious options, including their famous falafel dishes and the unique Impossible Burger. Diners rave about the flavorful falafel wrap and crispy French fries, while the refreshing green tea has garnered unexpected fans—even among those who typically shy away from tea!
The Very Happy Falafel is yummy, so is the Falafel Wrap and Guacamonster Impossible Burger. French fries are an A++. The green tea is AMAZING and you should order it even if you do not enjoy tea (like me). The owner takes a lot of pride in each ingredient and spends time formulating each item on the menu. It shows because everything we ordered was yummy. He speaks good English so he spent some time with us talking about some of his food experiments, which we really appreciated. They make everything fresh so your order takes time - worth the wait! Prices are reasonable for the quality and taste. All tables for dine-in are high tops with bar stools.

Have you ever seen wizards before? The chefs working there are the ones. The vegan meals they serve are amazing. They taste even better than meals with meat. You definitely should try! We were supposed to leave Querétaro, but after having food there we decided to extend our stay.

Surprisingly delicious Vegan food place in Queretaro!!! So glad to see that there are more and more vegan places popping up in the city! I found this spot after a quick Google Maps search on where to get vegan food in Queretaro, and we decided to try it out as were near the area. It's a small place, and it has a straightforward menu: everything falafel plus a few other options like Impossible Burger, soy meat tacos, and quesadillas. We tried the Falafel platter to share and the falafel burger since the guy working there recommended it to us, and woooooow what an experience that was! I've never had falafels that good anywhere in the world, and the falafel patty on the burger was amazing! Soft and chewy but also crunchy, not dry at all and just the right amount of spices and flavor. As a true Mexican, I obviously added in the mix of 2 home made sauces: pineapple-chilli and a different chilli-mix one and I have one thing to say: it blew my taste buds away!! I'll deeeefinitely be going back there soon for more. So glad that when I come to visit my parents now, there are places I can eat at 🥰 P.S not sure about their English, as I spoke Spanish to them but I'm pretty sure you could get by without a problem!

Very tasty tacos along with a nice environment and friendly service. There are quite a few options for tacos, along with many other food items. I only tried the tacos, but based on that I feel like I can say safely that the other food would also be very good.

Great place for tacos and Chilaquiles. It’s just a little outside of the tourist area. The salsas are flavorful. Started off with a tortilla soup and it was very good. The chorizo verde and arrachera tacos were amazing. The Chilaquiles was very good as well. Service was great. Love the decor/mural inside the restaurant. They do take credit card. Highly recommended if you’re in Querétaro.

The best dinner we've had in Querétaro. Prepare for a 3 flight walk-up, but it's all worth it when you get to the terraza. Attentive service and the food was perfecto. Great cocktails too. We ordered salmon carpaccio, shrimp bisque, lasagna bolognesa and herb crusted salmon. We timed it for the sunset which was incredible.
Kim H — Google review
Ugh. I didn't have a reservation (my mistake) and showed up an hour before sunset as a solo diner. I was sat right by the entrance which has decent views, but you can't actually see the sunset from there. I had one drink and when offered tequila choices, the server recommended the most expensive one which I didn't want. If you go, come for a single drink and make a reservation.
Chris B — Google review
A friend recommended this place for evening cocktails and was a great time. I would recommend to make reservations though. Excellent drinks, servers and an amazing view from the rooftop. They had some live music as well as heaters going on for a cooler night. Overall a very great experience. Highly recommend for a cozy date night for dinner and drinks.

Completely average place and definitely not the best terrace views in downtown. Food is ok but nothing to die for, service is below average and the reservation staff wants you to believe it's a miracle you are able to score a table. Believe me, not worth the hassle. Also, not smoke free, so you have to endure the smell while eating.

The Black Juice & Coffee Lab is a café that stands out for its informative menu, detailing the amount of espresso in each drink. This transparency ensures that customers are aware of the coffee-to-milk ratio across different locations and countries. Their espresso-based flat white was expertly crafted, reminiscent of high-quality third wave coffee shops. Additionally, their V60 brew method adds an interactive touch as baristas prepare and explain the process at patrons' tables. The resulting coffee boasts a robust body and delightful flavor.
Best coffee ever. Had the avocados on toast with sun dried tomatoes that was surprisingly delicious. The interior of this high ceiling restaurant is tastefully designed with ample seating, glass windows on to the street fill it with light. If you want a good coffee look no further.
Graham S — Google review
The phone number doesn’t work. They do have WhatsApp, and it seems like you can order through there, but they leave you hanging and starving, saying someone will respond soon — nobody ever did. I ended up going to Maco Café across the street, which was delicious and easy to order from. I passed by on my way back and saw three employees at the counter just goofing around, not busy at all. I think they're getting to comfy with their reviews and they don't care about their customers that much. Go to Maco Cafe and order one of their Paninis instead. It's delicious!
Ricardo C — Google review
This cafe was really good, I came twice. I loved their fruit cup - great flavors. I also enjoyed the verde emparedado and the taro latte (on its own; not with mango it’s too sweet). Great service too and ample space to chill and relax.

Love this cafe for work. Love the design, coffee was good and the chicken sandwich was big and yummy. Very reasonably priced as well. They have many tables with sockets for each, and are happy for you to sit and works as long as you like. Only down side was that there was just one little fan for the whole space. It got so hot around 15:00 I had to leave.
Shelly A — Google review
Oddly this place has an American name but when I went there I was charged extra for my food to go and never asked (in Spanish or English) if I wanted my food to go; I was actually planning on eating there. I did ask about the additional charge when paying and the guy acted like it was just a normal additional fee, except when I asked again about the discrepancy he could speak fluent English so I just left insulted. I didn't get to experience the atmosphere so I won't give it a rating. I wouldn't recommend going here.
Monica M — Google review
The environment is great. It's the perfect place to go to chat with a friend, read a book or get some work done. They also have board games like Jenga and Uno. I had the vanilla chai frappe with avocado toast. It was the best avocado toast that I have had but it was pretty tasty. For desserts I ate the cheese cake, which was small be very delicious.
Danielle W — Google review
Coffee was not great. Ordered a flat white (not great). So I tried the cold brew, which was acceptable (but also neither good nor great). Skip the food (Nothing to write home about because it was overall just bland—it will “fill your stomach” but that’s it). The only good thing: this is a comfortable cafe to get work done, though the Internet was terribly slow. I ended up using my phone data which was far more reliable. There’s definitely room for this cafe to improve and I hope it does, because the space is nice looking, they just need to master their craft.
Daniel C — Google review
I really like that on their menu they tell you how much espresso is in each drink (1 shot or 2), because different shops, in different countries make drinks in different ways and just going by size doesn't tell you the coffee ratio. My espresso drink (flat white) was well made, like a good third wave coffee shop. My partner got a v60. They came to his seat to make it in front of us and explain the process, which was fun. The coffee had good full body and flavor.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting La Dulce Compañía, a coffee shop bakery located in the heart of Queretaro, and it exceeded my expectations in every aspect. From the outstanding service to the delightful ambience, my experience was nothing short of amazing. However, what truly stole the show were the delectable offerings that left me in awe. Let's start with La Dulce Compañía's breakfast sandwich—it was simply phenomenal. The combination of flavors and textures was perfectly balanced, making every bite a delightful experience. The quality of the ingredients was evident, and the sandwich was prepared with great care. It was a fantastic way to kick-start my day. Moving on to the pan dulce at La Dulce Compañía, it was a true masterpiece. The selection of pastries was extensive, and each one was a work of art. The pan dulce at La Dulce Compañía was incredibly fresh, with a delicate sweetness that was not overwhelming. Each bite revealed layers of exquisite flavors, showcasing the skill and passion of the bakery's artisans. Lastly, I must mention the croissants at La Dulce Compañía, which were simply A1. The flaky, buttery goodness melted in my mouth, leaving me craving more. The attention to detail was evident in their golden, perfectly baked exterior and the tender, airy interior. These croissants at La Dulce Compañía were truly a testament to the mastery of the bakery's craft. Not only was the food at La Dulce Compañía exceptional, but the service provided was top-notch. The staff members at La Dulce Compañía were friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about their work. They went above and beyond to ensure that my experience was memorable, making me feel welcome and valued as a customer. Moreover, the ambience of La Dulce Compañía added another layer of enjoyment to my visit. The attention to detail in creating an aesthetically pleasing environment at La Dulce Compañía did not go unnoticed. In conclusion, my visit to La Dulce Compañía, a Queretaro coffee shop bakery, was an absolute delight. The outstanding service, charming ambience, and mouthwatering array of offerings made it a standout experience. I wholeheartedly recommend La Dulce Compañía to anyone seeking a memorable culinary adventure. Prepare to be impressed by the breakfast sandwich, pan dulce, and croissants—each dish is a testament to La Dulce Compañía's commitment to excellence.

Wow I was not expecting to find such an amazing Italian style bakery cafe in the middle of Mexico! Best in queretaro easily. Amazing almond croissant. Friendly staff. Perfect cafe to relax, it is nice and cool in the shade. Beautiful. Please come here. Update: The tiramisu was also good. I bought it at end of the day so it wasn't super fresh but that is unavoidable. If you're like me and think that you can find a Thai style iced tea in Mexico, then you better book a flight to Bangkok because Mexicans ain't big on their black teas or Thai cuisine. The kombucha is not that good. Not fizzy or strong flavour. It is a nice cool drink with some ice but I wouldn't recommend walking across town to buy this kombucha. I actually found a much better kombucha for almost half the price at cafe Monrovia .. I think that's how you spell it, also a nice cafe but it doesn't have nearly as many pasteries as this place. There are a few mosquitoes in the alleyway seating, take some repellant if you need. Also a bit unusual to have an open air toilet so close to where everyone is sitting. I personally prefer not to hear someone dropping bombs in the toilet while I eat my croissant on a Sunday morning. But that's just me.

Excellent bakery, with friendly staff, and lovely atmosphere. The French-style pastries are the highlight—best croissant/laminated pastries in town, but everything is very good. I’m not as big fan of their sit down entrees, and some of the breads and desserts don’t hit the mark, but I feel like you can usually trust your eyes on those—having been there too many times, I can say that if it looks good it almost certainly is—the only exception across many trips was a mango/cream/meringue/croissant thing that while gorgeous was just too sweet for me.

Unbelievably GOOD! After 2 months travelling around Mexico I have finally found the spot that serves great pastries. The Dulce de leche Cruffin was excellent. Crispy, light buttery pastry, with strong black coffee. There are 3 other sister business in town, a Bagel shop opposite, a pizza restaurant and larger cafe down the road. This is the central bakery with a small seating area. I will be trying the other places while I’m in Queretaro .

So far the finest European pastry cafe in Queretaro! The architectural details of the renovated colonial home, natural light, cozy seating and friendly inviting service. I wish I took more pics. The pastries displayed in beautiful old wooden cases and impeccable coffee options. Wonderful cappuccino by great barista. We had empanada with slow roasted mushrooms and onions to perfection. A large chunk melted chocolate cookie crispy on the outer edges slight crunch throughout the surfaces with a gooey soft interior the way I love a cookie to be but rarely found. And you must must have the chocolate eclair the best I have ever had in the world deep dark chocolate topping that was slightly firm the eclair itself was soft and moist it had a light cream filling slightly sweet not overbearing and the best part omg was the orange liqueur drizzle on top when that hits your taste buds look out! We found this place walking on our last day for a quick bite before heading out to the airport. Otherwise we would be coming here every day sampling every pastry they have. This is definitely a place we will return to on our next visit to this beautiful city Queretaro!

General Francisco Mujica International Airport

Airport
International airport
This airport is the biggest in Michoacan & offers service to Mexico & U.S. destinations.
Streamlined check in with only a handful of gates to navigate. There's coffee outside the gates, but not near the gates. Food and AeroMarket on both sides. For souvenirs, go to the Morelia shop first, then AeroMarket.

(Departing from) I’ve heard horror stories of passengers being heckled over what they bring by the agents, so coming in I was on high alert. But I was pleasantly surprised to not experience any of the things I was on guard about. The airport itself is very small (only 4 gates, or “doors” as they call them). Parking is easy to navigate. Before entering the terminal, in the lobby of the airport, you’ll have access to ATMs, small cafes, and restrooms. My particular flight was with Viva to Chicago, and I didn’t like that they had 4 service counters operating as the line was VERY long for this particular flight. Luckily I arrived pretty early, and made it thru with a lot of time to spare. Going thru immigration was smooth (for me I had to present my US Passport, Boarding Ticket, and the immigration receipt you get if you’re not a Mexican citizen). Going thru TSA was also straightforward. Overall a smooth experience, airport is clean, and there are many services available. I will add that my flight was in the middle of the night, and I can see how if traveling during the day, the wait between service counter to immigration to TSA can be very long (very few counters open, as it is a small airport). I would exercise being earlier than usual to avoid, as best as possible, a long delay getting into the terminal. If I had to choose between the Guadalajara airport or Morelia airport, I would go with Morelia again.
Edgar S — Google review
The airport staff were nice BUT there was an immigration officer who was rude to every traveler there. Including my family. You would tell her please and ask a question and she would mistreat you and make you feel less. Traveling is such a hassle as it is this officer a representative. No one was acting rudely she just wanted to make travelers feel less. It’s a shame to rate this score based on the efforts of one staff member under immigration.
Maria R — Google review
Omg!! It feels so...military like All personal is so demanding! My family and I will not use this airport again. When we arrived the Mexican Military took my dog bones away because they said it had meat...how can a dehydrated bone have meat? Label clearly said the bone had no meat Anyways...on the way back home they said they had to recheck my husband...why? Isn't that the reason we went through security? To begin with. I love the state of Morelia but this airport never again!
Noelia R — Google review
Nice and small airport. It is really comfortable and also it has a coffee shop and a souvenir shop. You can get flights from here to Mexico City, Cancún and many parts of the US with cheap airlines or not so cheap. You will need to ride a taxi 🚕 to get here and you will also need to get a taxi (from the ones in the same airport) to go to Morelia (which is a 20 minute ride). Ubers are not allowed to either enter the airport, take this into account.
Diego P — Google review
I want to express my complete dissatisfaction with the treatment we received from an immigration officer (INM) at the Morelia, Michoacán airport on June 8, 2025, prior to boarding VivaAerobús Flight 868. From the very beginning, the agent displayed a completely confused, disorganized, and unprofessional attitude. She falsely claimed that my parents did not have Mexican passports or were not Mexican citizens. She herself returned my mother’s Mexican passport and then had the audacity to say we didn’t have it, even though it had just been returned to us by her. She also gave us the form that citizens with dual nationality are supposed to fill out, and then told my dad it wasn’t necessary. However, when we returned to her, she completely contradicted herself and demanded we fill it out. This level of miscommunication and lack of coordination shows a clear lack of training and professionalism on the part of INM staff. To make matters worse, VivaAerobús Flight 868 was already delayed by over four hours, and during that time, no authority gave us any clear explanation or offered proper assistance. We were left standing, waiting for hours, with no organization or respectful treatment whatsoever. I understand that working under pressure can be stressful, but that does not excuse a public servant treating people with rudeness, impatience, or arrogance. Passengers deserve respect and clarity, especially when already dealing with delays and confusion from the airline itself. This experience was extremely frustrating and stressful and left a very negative impression of both the Mexican immigration service and VivaAerobús. I strongly request that corrective actions be taken to ensure this does not happen again, and that the training and conduct of the staff involved be reviewed.

-5 Stars!! Got to the airport 3 hours early, once we waited for the workers to finally show up at their posts they took a whole hour getting our infant signed up for the flight. Multiple other guests went through smoothly. Two women were attempting to help us but seemed they weren’t knowledgeable in their position. Then they tell us our flight is delayed 3 hours, with no emails or calls or anything. We would’ve waited somewhere else because that airport has no comfortable seats either. We chose to sit on the ground because the chairs are just not ergonomically correct. ALSO! We were told from the two ladies that since our flight is delayed in Houston we’d get a voucher for a hotel. When we arrived in Houston everyone that was delayed was told they will not be receiving any hotel rooms. All in all I think they have a lot of revising to do at this airport.

Terribly communicated and unsafe to travel from. In my personal case, the Uber to Morelia was more expensive than my flight to the airport. Not to mention all the violence inherent to this region. I guess it's just fate or some bad omen, but hopefully this airport will get a better connection to the city soon enough before we all burn into oblivion 500 billion years from now.

Queretaro International Airport

Everyone was very kind and the waiting rooms are all clean and comfy. Quick food from Starbucks.

A surprisingly small airport. There are five gates that share a common lounge area. Shopping consists of a leather shop, a small duty free shop with liquor and perfume, and a place for packaged snacks and beverages, including 40 peso beers. For food and drinks there's a sandwich shop, a small bar, and most popularly, a Starbucks. There's no real lounge, just one of those Priority Pass "lounges". That's about it in the boarding area. If you need something more substantial to eat you better get it before going through security. Nonetheless, the facilities are spotless, the staff helpful and friendly, and operations efficient.

Visually appealing, small, clean new airport. Staff was kind and helpful.

Great airport to get in and out of quickly. Quick food from Starbucks or coffee shop in departures lounge. Very clean and bright. Rental cars are right outside arrival doors. If you US don’t buy insurance ahead of time they will not accept it. You will have to purchase their insurance regardless of your personal or credit card insurance to rent.

Not that big, no duty free, limited food options. For the size of operations and the relative importance of the airport I would expect something better. Also the lounge is just a small venue that can't fit many people.

Highly disappointed with how they treat customers / foreign and local travelers at late hours. Tonight Several flights canceled / they have hundreds of people stranded for hours with out food or water services. All shops are closed and not a single water fountain or vending machine available for this many people at such late hours. People are tired / thirsty and hungry. It’s an abuse to all of them . If your airlines are going to delay flights, the airport should consider providing basic necessities to its customers while they make them wait long hours after midnight.

Very small airport. Very clean, decent selection of vendors in the terminal for coffee and food and snacks Etc. I'm from the US and everyone was very nice to me.

Have no complain at all of the Querétaro airport. Still a small one for a city that keeps growing and growing and even though is functional. At least on my personal experiences never had a flight delay or issues at the arrival. As you can see on the wide picture, the main boarding area have a decent amount of places to seat, coffee and food stores and like I said as of today it has been worked for me. Would love to see more destinations to northern cities other than Monterrey and hope that happen in the short or mid term.
