Zip World Llechwedd is a popular tourist attraction that offers a variety of exciting activities. Visitors can explore an ancient rock quarry through underground mine tours, workshops, and history exhibits. The site also features on-site dining options for guests to enjoy. For those seeking more adventurous experiences, Bounce Below offers huge trampolines and nets set in a former slate mine.
We did 2 activities, Titan and Deep Mine experience, both were fabulous for different reasons. Titan gave an 8 year old the thrill and he loved every minute. The Deep Mine Tour was enjoyable and informative for 3 generations. Greg our guide, was friendly, engaging and catered for all ages, he was also showed patience and went at the slowest persons speed. The tour gave an insight on how the Mine used to be and the screen shows were particularly interesting. Greg was full of knowledge and willingly answered questions and included the group as much as possible. I would highly recommend going to Zip World as it caters for all ages and has something for everyone. Thanks again Greg for making our tour so enjoyable.

Super fun! Did both the deep mine tour (excellent guide even though it was a large group) and the Caverns. Just be sure to wear water proof clothing and good grip shoes. The deep tour was excellent and our guide was super informational. The caverns was not what I expected at all, very tough, very scary, such a thrill!!

Recently visited here on my first solo holiday and booked to do the deep mine tour. Pre booked parking so getting in and parking was easy. There was a very long queue to get checked in but granted it was the summer holidays so this was to be expected. The lady that guided the tour was lovely (didn’t catch her name unfortunately but she had reddish hair) and even recommended a local walk for me to do after my visit to Zip World.. which I did and it was beautiful! Highly recommend.

We had so much fun, all the staff were amazing. First we did Titan and I had a little wobble but the team were brilliant, without making a fuss they reassured me and I am glad I did it. The next day we did the deep tour mine, I wish I’d got the tour guides name cause he was brilliant! (Longer hair, beard) we’ve done a few tours and he really knew his stuff and we both really enjoyed it. He didn’t rush me when I was taking a little longer to go down the stairs and chatted away with us throughout. Absolutely recommend any activities here and we can’t wait to come back and try something else. The soya decaf coffee was also amazing which as you can imagine isn’t always the case!

Absolutely amazing family experience. Autistic son loved the zip line and the bounce below. Highly recommend to anyone. Will be back to do more of their experiences.

We went on the mine tour and we all came away very impressed. Very modern and effective tour with a mix of technology and knowledgeable tour guides. Much better than other mine tours we've been on where you listen to a device as you walk around.

5 stars for the Titan zip line and underground golf. We went as a group and had such a great time. You do have to pay for parking now and most of the adventures are expensive but worth the adrenaline rush. Easy to travel to with amazing views all around of the mountains and the slate mine. Dogs welcome but they can't go down the mine or up to where the zip line is.
Sophie G — Google review
Amazing, adrenaline fuelled, friendly staff and beautiful scenery. Vending machine was asking £6 for an oasis drink plus 89p service charge! More reasonable prices at the cafe. Lots of space to picnic and onsite pizza restaurant. Not really enough staff to approach to ask random questions unless you queue up at the entry again. Memories made and all had a great day zip lining, with ages from 12 - 75 in our group of 8 people and deep cave exploration.

Waterfalls
Located in a charming, wooded area in North Wales, Swallow Falls is a breathtaking waterfall with churning waters that can be reached by walking along a narrow and rocky footpath for 2.5 miles from the Tyn Llwyn car park in Gwydyr.
I've been in the blue ridge mountains the rocky mountains and the high searas. But these mountains and road ways are like nothing I have ever seen it's just beautifully majestic, passing through all the little pictures villages and cottages takes u back to another time and place. I could spend weeks maybe the rest of my life there it's just beautifully beyond words I wish every one could get a chance to see
Robert H — Google review
Stunning waterfalls especially after rain. You enter through an automated turnstile which costs £2 and is card payment only as far as I know you can enter anytime. The car park is free but can get full at peak times an other option would be to go in the Swallow Falls Inn across the road and use there car park which is for customers only so have a drink or something to eat then quickly visit the falls after.
Paul M — Google review
We stopped off at the Swallow Falls on our way home. It was over twenty-five years since we last visited, so long overdue! We paid the £2.00 entry fee and could believe the noise. We were visiting after Storm Amy has passed through so there was plenty of water flowing at great speed and volume. Since we last visited, more safety fencing and concrete steps have been laid, making it safe to climb down to the waters edge. Thankfully, we were wearing waterproofs so kept dry. We were able to walk down to the waters edge and to be so close to such a raging flow reminded me of standing under Niagara Falls in Canada. The noise was deafening and exciting. We stayed for about twenty minutes as we had a two hour journey home. The steps are steep with handrails for support so good footwear is advisable. A raincoat might be helpful depending on recent rainfall. There are no facilities but there is additional parking across the road at the Swallow Falls Hotel. To be fair, you might want to purchase a drink. We parked in the lay-by beside the Falls. From here, we drove into Betws-y-Coed and parked by the river. The bridge is narrow and visitors stand either side to view the small Falls.
Anthony H — Google review
A magnificent waterfall can be admired from several viewpoints behind the gate (£2). You can sit on a bench and let yourself be carried away. The walk is short, but the beauty will surely captivate you for a while.
Lucca T — Google review
Nice enough to stop past and have a look. We thought it was a longer walk to get there but actually you go through the turnstile gate (£2 per person, contactless payment available) and you are more or less there. They have however built a couple of viewing platforms accessed by stairs so overall we spent about 15minutes there. Small free parking lay-by in front of entrance, more parking (pay and display) belonging to hotel which is just across the road.
Will M — Google review
There are not many attractions in the uk that cost £2 to enjoy and can offer a glimpse of such raw power. Visit if possible after rain. Take your lunch as there is a seating area that very few seem to find. Steps with good hand rail access to lower platforms. Great views to appreciate at the different viewing areas. Allow 30min.
Andrew B — Google review
Really beautiful waterfall. Well worth the £2 entrance fee. Relatively easy walk down to the falls. The path and stairs are good. It is slightly steep but manageable even if you are unfit. There is a small free parking area near the falls, but it can get quite busy at times. It's definitely worth a visit.

History Museums
Nestled in the picturesque setting of Llanberis, the National Slate Museum is a living museum housed in the former Victorian workshops of Dinorwig slate quarry. The museum offers an immersive experience into the history of slate mining through interactive activities, demonstrations, and original artifacts. Visitors can explore workers' cottages furnished in period decor from 1861 to 1969 and witness a huge working water wheel.
The place is very interesting. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming, blacksmith, slate trimmer, guides, shop team all great. It's closing in a couple of weeks for a refurbishment. I'm sure it'll be even better when it reopens. Shop on site sells the usual attraction goodies, cafe sells cafe stuff. Little kids play area, some quarry cottages all dressed up inside. Lots of original artifacts, machines & history. Great place, get along and enjoy it.
Mark T — Google review
We went to the National Slate Museum having no idea what to expect thinking that it might be a boring little trip on a rainy day. However, we were thoroughly surprised to find this museum was a little gem. There was much to admire, firstly with the ease of accessibility to the facilities and each area of the museum was well presented and enjoyable to view. There were many interesting artifacts to observe and the history of the slate mining in the area was well documented. Our favourite parts were seeing the mining houses over time (it felt like stepping back in time) and the demonstration of the slate being cut, which was both illuminating and humerous. Definitely worth a visit, especially on a rainy day!
Flugette — Google review
It's Free! and you can spend a good few hours in it. You can donate in boxes and it is worth a donation. The area is beautiful as you are surrounded by the mountains and can easily make a great day out in the area. If you like outdoors, go for it on a nice day.

Great place to visit with plenty to do for up to 2 hours. Free entry was a big bonus, the museum is going to close for some essential refurb works so please check before travelling. Definitely recommend a visit.
Maulik B — Google review
A great place for everyone, especially the youngest, to see and understand the work people had to do and what the effects were. One of the largest slate quarry in the world, which was used by a large part of Europe. Thanks to the people working here, others had a roof over their heads. A lot of rooms showing various stages of production, devices and tools of those times. It is also worth seeing the lines of buildings from 1861 - 1901 - 1969 to compare living standards over a period of over 100 years. A great place for a trip of at least an hour.
Lucca T — Google review
An interesting place to visit! Entry is free which is always nice 😉 Lots of exhibits to look at, along with videos, plenty of history information and some practical demonstrations. The cottages at the end of the museum were a really nice touch, as was the viewing area for the water wheel.
Ian D — Google review
What a fabulous pace to visit parking is £5 for the day. Museum is free and it's fab so much history and things to do. It has a cafe on site a small playground and a gift shop. Outside 2 Minute walk across the way is the lake railway again with small cafe and shop. £10.50 adult return journey about hour total .. the views are spectacular out of this world. A lovely day out for families wheelchair friendly.
Rebecca S — Google review
If you visit North Wales, a trip to the Welsh Slate Museum is a must. They've turned a big industrial area into a wonderful free tourist attraction, that explains the landscape and cultural history very well. Based in the old workshops for the quarry, you get to see; a slate splitting and tile cutting demonstration, nice videos about the history of the industry, lots of wagons and info on the miners. They've also transported a short terrace of miners cottages, transporting each back to 1869, 1901 and 1969. It's fantastic and very thought provoking. There is so much to see and do, we missed our on the Quarry Hospital and only got to walk a short section of the fantastic signposted walks.

Scenic Railroads
Llanberis Lake Railway offers a picturesque journey on a narrow-gauge steam train along the northern shore of Llyn Padarn in North Wales. The 2.5-mile trip provides stunning views of the lake and countryside, making it a popular attraction. It is advisable to prebook tickets due to its popularity, and there is wheelchair access onto the train if needed.
The Place is so nice and breathtaking. If you like mountains or so, you should definitely go visit there. People in the ticket shop are very nice and helpful. There are specific times for the train to come for lake railway so make sure to check it beforehand. the view is insane
Nsh H — Google review
Lovely run friendly staff narrow gauge steam railway around the edge of the lake with the most stunning views. The carriages are fairly small but you can still sit side by side within them. The train stops at several platforms and they let you out to take pictures before continuing the journey. The drivers point out the landmarks such as snowdon so you can take pics. The national slate mine is nearby too which is free and well worth a visit
Dean H — Google review
Stunning views, great trip around the lake. You can drop off at the opposite station and get the next train back instead and spend time at the picnic spot/lake. Reasonably priced and can easily make a half day of it. Would recommend take your own food with you, not many options nearby to buy something easily.
Gemma C — Google review
Nice view of the lake along the train route!Good and enjoyable experience for the family! Train ride price is not expensive £2 per adult and £1 per child only. Length of ride is about 1hr including the stops. Train times are every 30-45min.
Kaye D — Google review
I have a small fascination about History and mix that with liking Steam railways of both standard size and miniature ones, this place gives it all! (Apart from standard size railway of course haha) Car park is decent size but If guess during summer it probably fills up well. Was a very nice 35 year old (1990) VW Scirocco parked there on the day we visited. Price wise it's fairly good for what you get, also it's great if you've maybe got only a morning to use. You can use the railway all day on the same ticket and go back and forth along the route. The old slate mine is obviously what this place used to be and the railway originally carried slate back from the mine. But now the very nice carriages that you sit in are comfortable and fairly roomy. It was quite busy when we went. The little Steam Engine has a lot of guts, maybe small but quite a bit of torque as it would have pulled some weight in the past. The line takes you around the side of the lake, with just 4 stops. If you get on at the second stop where you get your ticket from, the train back tracks to the first stop to pick people up at the first platform. Then back to the second platform. It then steams it's way around the edge of the lake, with all the smells you'd expect, wood burning and coal dust which will get in your eyes occasionally when the train is stationary. *** Top tip, don't rub your eyes, it'll only get the dust into your eye more. Moisten your eye with a handkerchief, or a tissue and wipe your eye that way, a dry finger will make it worse.*** You can see mountains from the train journey, it's very pretty indeed. Along the route is a platform where you can get off and have a picnic. The train goes up and down the line all day so you'd have time to eat before the train comes back. Each journey typically lasts around an hour from initial boarding to getting off. If you do get off at the platform towards the end of the line, don't wander to far as the train only sits for 5 minutes before carrying on it's journey, if you miss it, you'll have to wait for it coming back. The shop is as expected, had the usual trinkets and pieces to buy for memories, the prices aren't megs high but things are not cheap. Beautiful place, viewed in great Welsh weather, it had rained but stayed dry for our journey. Enjoy!

Pleasant little steam railway which gave me a nice trip along the lake and back. Not as scenic as the Snowdon Mountain Railway opposite, but much more relaxing and has fewer tourists.

Outdoor Activities
Harlech Beach is a stunning stretch of uninterrupted coastline featuring grassy sand dunes and breathtaking views of the Snowdonia Mountains. Situated to the west of Snowdonia/Eryri National Park, this beach offers a perfect blend of natural beauty with the open sea on one side and the majestic slopes of Snowdonia on the other. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks with their furry friends during colder months or indulge in sunbathing and swimming when it's warmer.
Very nice beach with majestic views. Good for dog walking especially on cooler days as no need to worry about coming across too many other people or dogs if your dog doesn’t like either. The sand dunes are a bit difficult to get over but still worth it, especially if you get to catch sight of any dolphins in the distance.

I came here with friends and children for the day, the beach is very clean and well looked after, there is plenty of parking and it's reasonably priced.
Em B — Google review
Such a beautiful place to visit, it wasn't too busy either. Parking is 5min walk away and does cost ( please note this machine is coins or app payments only) has a small loo block on the carpark ( not the best imo) but the sand dunes and beach make up for that.
Kirsty M — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous stretch of sand. Very secluded places too, if that’s what you’re looking for. Car parking close by and there’s also public toilets. There’s just so much room for everyone on this beach. One of the most beautiful stretches of sand in the UK. There’s also usually a nice cooling breeze.

Y Stablau - Stables Bar is a family-run pub located in the heart of Betws-y-Coed, offering an eclectic menu featuring locally sourced ingredients and a selection of craft beers. Situated near the river, it's a convenient stop for hikers exploring the Welsh mountains of Snowdonia or visitors to the village. The pub provides a welcoming atmosphere and serves as an ideal place to enjoy a meal and refreshing drinks.
Enjoyed two evenings at the pub where we had a meal and drinks. It gets busy at peak times, on the first evening it was wet and cold so we had a wait to find a table and since it was so busy once we ordered our meal it did take a good 30 minutes to arrive. The second evening was fine and a bit later (7pm) so more people were outside and we had no problem finding an inside table and the food arrived much quicker. Had the classic Welsh burger (£16) with lots of chips the first night and chilli con carne the second night with half chips & rice (£15). Good portions, really nice staff who served everyone quickly and a great environment, cheers!

An incredibly busy bar with a great outdoor seating area. Getting served is tricky as the bar is huge and people are standing all over the place. The local Conwy beer was excellent and the food looked good, but we gave it a miss as it’s expensive. A beer and a pint of cola cost just over £10.

Had a great time here with the tasty food and the amazing service! Loved the cheeriness of the ambience too. Each of us loved our order and they were all very hearty portions too! My heartfelt thanks to Victoria and her team mates for being ever so ready to help us put together a surprise birthday and wedding anniversary celebration for my wife. We had a great night there!

A really good bar in a beautiful location. We ordered food via a qr code on the table, and it arrived in about 10 mins! The food was really good, with plentiful portions. Beer is good, especially the Wrexham lager! We eould definitely come here again next time we visit.

I didn't eat there but looking at other people's meals coming out, they looked good so I put 3 stars, not real knowing. The staff were great. The area is well worth a visit, it's a beautiful place. I think this is the only pub around. Paid Parking available across the road.

Lovely meal after a strenuous walk to Llyn Elsi. Excellent portion size and good quality ingredients we thought. Reasonably priced as it’s a tourist hot spot! Only little niggle was the veggie curry could really do with some spicing up as it was more like a casserole albeit a tasty one!
Tracy M — Google review
The food was ok but there didn't seem to be any way to order drinks on the app so I had to get up and go to the bar after ordering food. It was quiet on the day I went and the waitress, although very nice was a bit too keen. She grabbed my plate to take it away before I was finished eating. She immediately apologised but by that point, I'd had enough and left. I went for a second drink and dessert elsewhere. It wasn't terrible but I wouldn't rush back either.

Bar & grill
Located in a boutique guesthouse with modern, stylish rooms, the Cross Foxes offers guests a bar/grill for drinks and snacks. The restaurant serves up local, seasonal produce prepared by head chef Kyle Wilkinson. The property also features free breakfast each morning.
We stayed here for 3 nights and had a brilliant stay. We ate in the restaurant each night and found the food excellent. It's the staff who are the real stars of the show. They're friendly and attentive without being intrusive. I can't praise them highly enough. Seating around the bar area is a mix of sofas, easy chairs and pub tables. It's a really relaxed vibe and as a bonus, original prints by local artists are on sale in the bar. We'll definitely be going back again, can't recommend it enough.

Outstanding Meal and Wonderful Atmosphere at Cross Foxes! I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cross Foxes, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it. The experience, from start to finish, was absolutely superb. First and foremost, the food was exquisite. Everything was cooked to perfection—each dish was precisely done, hitting all the right notes in flavour and texture. What’s more, the prices are very reasonable and not shocking in the current climate, offering great value for the quality you receive. The atmosphere was wonderful, and a huge part of that was thanks to the waitresses. They were attentive from the moment we sat down, checking in to ensure we were enjoying our meal, but they were never intrusive. Their balanced service was spot-on. I truly believe that their constant smiles and genuine warmth created the truly lovely, welcoming atmosphere. Even our furry friend was well looked after! Our dog felt comfortable and was even treated to some sausages which he thoroughly enjoyed. This is a fantastic spot for anyone looking for exceptional food paired with genuinely warm, attentive service, all while maintaining normal, non-shocking prices. Highly recommended!

Fantastic pub! Super beer gardens and outdoor seating areas. Lovely ambiance to the place. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Drinks a bit on the pricey side as is the food but I would say it is a step up in pub grub, it is not microwave ping here, it is delicious home made, well presented wholesome food! Well worth the £. Facilities usually clean and tidy. Staff responsive to any request to clean or restock. A great stopping point for travellers and especially Moho community! Always plenty campers in the car park and plenty od bikers too!! Highly recommend this gourmet pub!

We stayed one night during our walk along the Cambrian Way. The Arran bedroom was fine. The shower room was also fine except that the fan didn't work (which I reported). The shower room could do with more hooks to hang clothes on while showering. A lovely touch was to be offered fresh milk to have with tea and coffee in the room. Dinner of fish & chips and chicken salad was good but the portions were too large to be fully consumed. Breakfast was very good with a choice of cereals, full breakfast or other hot options and hot beverages. We asked for a packed lunch to take with us but were told it wasn't possible. Partly because of the breakfast rush (we were the only 2 guests in the breakfast room from start to finish). My husband had mailed the inn when booking to ask for a packed lunch but received no reply then. We still don't understand why they couldn't have sold us a small omelette and two slices of toast each. Instead I bought some peanuts. We wanted ready salted crisps to take along but they had run out. (A member of staff kindly checked the store room to make sure.) A pleasant stay marred by inflexibility about a packed lunch.

Spotted this pub on our way to our holiday destination which was a short drive from here & decided to come back on a Sunday for a roast. Best decision we had. Food was lovely, the portions we had were decent & the staff were friendly. Didn't snap a picture of the mains but managed to get some of the deserts, which were also really good. Would definitely recommend here & will definitely return if in the area again!

We'd been recommended this place in our holiday cottage visitor book. Such a shame as it has great potential. We came for Sunday lunch. Drinks were quick to arrive, although a dirty glass and one order was wrong. We were all having different meats for the Sunday roast. The meat is beautifully soft, but ruined by the awful salty gravy used on all the dishes, although the menu stated different sauces/gravy for the different meats. Only 2 roast potatoes, which were cold, and after waiting for the vegetables to arrive, I had to go up and ask for them; two small bowls of microwaved veg. No sauces were offered and we couldn't see any available. Other tables were waiting for their vegetables too. We were going to have desserts, but decided to go elsewhere. How can you go so wrong with a roast dinner! Plenty of staff, just no coordination. I will be writing in the cottage visitor book to avoid for Sunday roast. So disappointing.

Incredible tapas. Food was amazing, every single one of our 7 tapas dishes was delicious. We could not fault the food or restaurant at all. The service was friendly, the food arrived quickly and the quality of the food was top tier. We booked at 8:30pm, which is their last sitting. We ordered 7 tapas dishes between 2 of us (we were very hungry having not had lunch) which was more than enough for us. The dessert menu looked great, and we also managed to share a popcorn cheesecake. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

We had a delightful few days at Olif on our first visit to Wales! The staff were wonderful, the location was amazing, the breakfast and tapas were delicious, and the room (window view of the street in front) was clean, comfy, and charming. The location is great for access to the city and all of the outdoor activities in the area. Thanks to all the team for making our stay a memorable one. Would definitely return when back in the area.

Ate here for dinner after hiking all day. Unfortunately they can’t serve food outside, but it’s worth it to go inside for dinner. All the tapas dishes were great, we ate them as soon as they came out, so the only picture I got was the dessert! The spicy bean stew and chorizo were our favorites but everything we had was delicious. Didn’t get a cheeseboard… but saw a few go by and wished we had another chance to come back.

We stayed here for a couple of nights mid week. Highly reccommend the accommodation. The rooms are stylish with high end touches throughout. Perfect location, friendly team and excellent breakfast both mornings. Unfortunately our trip was when the restaurant was closed Mon/ Tues - but they very kindly made us a sharing board with meats, pickles and hummus which was very tasty - will definitely be back to try the restaurant on our next trip to Betws - y - Coed.

Excellent stay midweek for 2 adults. Room was comfortable with good tea and coffee facilities as well as a mini fridge stocked with nibbles and cold drinks. The evening food was excellent and the service friendly. The reason for 4 star location is only because there is no onsite parking but this was not a big issue.

We stayed several nights in July. Loved the restaurant and bar; we visited other spots but always had breakfast and often dinner at Olif. It is a great location, especially if you are already driving around northern Wales. The service was always helpful. We could have used a little air conditioning the week we were there, but we didn't see much of that anywhere in the area. The room was very quiet, even with the windows open.

I always enjoy visiting Y Maes Cafe after walking along the coastal path. The staff are extremely pleasant, the pastries are homemade, and the prices allow everyone to indulge in a cake and coffee without breaking the bank. Additionally, there is a convenient tap where you can refill your water bottle. The cafe offers parking and clean restrooms right outside its doors. The spicy chickpea and cauliflower pastry was delightful, as were the sausage rolls according to others.
Came here 3 times in a row it was so nice! A great little cafe right next to a nice beach. The ham, Brie and chutney toastie was so good! Little things like getting a top up of hot chocolate because the glass was half cream to begin with just makes it absolutely 5 star. Will definitely be returning on our next visit!

Such lovely owners and beautiful cakes! We popped in to have a coffee, but ended up with sausage rolls and cakes too. There were meat, vegan and vegetarian options of pastries. All the food was homemade with ingredients sourced from other local businesses - with gluten-free cakes available too. They ground their own coffee and it tasted great, these cakes were delicious. Can’t wait to come back soon!

Maes Cafe is a fantastic spot for anyone who loves good coffee and homemade cakes. The coffee was rich, smooth, and perfectly made, while the cakes were fresh, indulgent, and full of flavour – you can tell they’re baked with care. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the cosy atmosphere made it an ideal place to relax and enjoy a treat. A real gem for coffee and cake lovers.

Lovely little cafe, hidden away down by the beach. Lovely pots of tea and beautiful cakes were had by myself and elderly parents. Very tempting selection of ice creams on offer too, something for a sunnier day. We'll definitely be visiting again.

All we can say is a huge thank you to a very lovely gentleman at Mae's cafe today who came to our rescue. Our car battery was flat after we left the door open on the car park. We had already been to Maes and was treated to amazing homemade beef and vegetable pasties, cake, coffee and ice creams and service with a smile. Looks like a family business which is always lovely to see. After asking if anyone had some jump leads, without hesitation the gentleman at Mae's left the cafe and went to their home and collected jump leads and their car to help us boost our car. It's people like this that restore your faith in the human race. Thank you so much. From the reviews we have read we note there is some negative ones which is very sad when the owners are new. Supporting local independent businesses is key and when you get the extra mile too that is 5 star service in our books. If we can be anything in this world be kind and we were shown that today. Good luck, thank you and we will definitely be back again to visit.... hopefully without the flat battery next time.

The restaurant Y Sospan is a great place to visit if you're looking for traditional Welsh cuisine. The breakfast bap is especially good value for money, and the soup and coffee are also very good. The upstairs seating is comfortable and spacious, while the toilet is very clean. Overall, it's an amazing restaurant with friendly staff that offers great food at reasonable prices.
Very lovely to be able to sit outside on a hot evening - you could be in Europe! The food was really good, everyone at the table was happy with their meal although we did all agree it was *slightly* on the pricy side. My steak was cooked exactly how it to be (not always guaranteed in some places) and the sauce was delicious - very savoury and moreish. Chips were crispy and salty. The service was on the slower side because they were so busy but the waitress who served us was very nice and helpful. The wine selection Was very good too. Those of us who had dessert really enjoyed. I’d definitely come back here again.

My partner and I came here for dinner and it was such a lovely spot. From the ambience, to the history of the building and of course, the delicious food! The staff were so friendly and welcoming from the second we stepped foot through the door. The meat from the lamb shank just fell off the bone and melted in your mouth and the chocolate fondant was baked to perfection! Would highly recommend this place to anyone in the Dolgellau area!

This place makes it worth the 16min drive from Barmouth ! I have never had a lamb shank like it … when in Wales …..Just come here ! You won’t be disappointed. Service was fantastic too . Price looks tad expensive but for the meal you receive and service it’s really not at all . Will be visiting again ! Excellent wine menu and all local gins and beers clearly marked, as well as vegan options which were not extensive but were very good and clearly prepared with care. The lamb shank was a particular hit. Side salad was very small but the lettuce and tomato were very tasty. Very friendly, welcoming and efficient service. Dog friendly and a warm vibe for all.

The service from the man working this afternoon let's this place down. No customer service skills, places food down without saying anything, abrupt, no smiles. When ordering i was told the meals would be ready at different times due to one coming from upstairs with the chef and the other downstairs from the server. When asked if they could bring them out together it was not possible, perhaps this system should be looked at as customers want to eat together at the same time. When the meal came it was nice, however a piece of plastic was in there. Had cakes to takeaway and still service was poor and unfriendly again.

A came in as a solo traveller seeking a lovely welsh breakfast. This was delivered. Full Welsh Breakfast £10. Very generous portion size but clearly all fresh with proper locally sourced ingredients. The staff were very friendly and nice. This coupled with the clientel created a really wonderful homely vibe. This place is clearly more than a cafe. Its a meeting place for the people of Dolgellau. And it was lovely to be a part of that for a morning. Cant wait to come back one day
