I had a car rented during my holiday on the island, but unfortunately I couldn't use it to rich Cala Turqueta and Cala Macarelleta. Starting with June until end of September the access to these two caves with car is impossible but with bus only. This is because the parking spaces are limited on these 2 beaches and the acces from the main road/highway to them is very narrow. So, the best way to reach to the beaches from whatever you are located in Ciutadella, Cala n Bosch, Cala Blanca is to reach the bus station "Via Perimetral" - Ciutadella . From here you can take bus Nr. 68 to Turqueta or bus Nr. 69 to Macarelleta. It cost 10 Euros per person covering both ways for each destination. Once arrived , you will need to walk for up to 15 min. through forrest to reach the sea. It s worthed, the water is pristine, beautiful colour, silence. Enjoy. Ps: Don t forget to return in time to your scheduled bus.

Cala en Torqueta is one of the most beautiful coves of the island, we reached it thanks to a boat excursion and we have no idea if outside the beach are available some kind of service, inside the beach there is only a lifeguard station and no more, you must have your own umbrella. The sand is white and there are lots of panoramic point where you can take photos and dive from it. This is one of the most recommended coves of the all island. You must see it.

There is 20 mins walk to the beach. The parking is free but limited to probably 200. The parking is also attended and you will be guided to the next parking spot. At the car park there is bar which sales food/snacks and drinks (Only cash though). You can also take your shower there (1€ per minute of water in a coin drop in box). It is really worth to visit it. Bear in mind if the car park is full it probably means the beach is also packed up. But the water is usually really clear and the scenery is mindblowing - Thanks god for the best there is no concrete there....

Beautiful place to go. Try to be early (get there before 8AM) since it can be limited (mostly due to COVID measures). In high season, sometimes it can get full at 7:30. There's a small serving cafeteria at the parking with some snacks, although, bring your own is more recommended. A note on this beach: rather crowded and it smells a bit due to a mangrove at the back of the beach.

I love to visit Cathedrals. In every city or place the first building which I love to visit are Cathedrals. This was amazing. The architect is great.When you look up, you can see the figures of animals and humans which are wonderful.Inside the cathedral is great. There is one part which was mosque before in muslim attack and change to cathedral again.

You can enter every room a learn a bit of history of Minorca and this church. Just be aware that it is closing at 2:30 pm. Welcoming and friendly staff. We just love the old capital! We visited in May and it was so peaceful to walk the main streets and alongside the harbour. The shops were great & not expensive. Most cafés don’t mind you calling in for a drink but please ask as some prefer you to buy both food and drink. I would recommend sitting alongside or at the end of the harbour and watch the world go by! Also, please check out the local history. The cathedral is so peaceful and the historical houses are worth a visit too - all 5 euros each but please try to visit just one. Take your time and enjoy your surroundings!

Beautiful, unspoiled beach with crystal-clear water. About a 10-minute walk from the parking lot, through pines. You can still see the remains of what looks like a WWII defense structure with tunnels. We couldn’t see them, but in the swampy areas between Es Tancats and Platja des Bot it should be possible to spot freshwater turtles.

Stunning natural beach. Numbers are limited so didn’t seem too busy. Crystalline blue water, white sand and many varieties of fish to see when snorkelling. Easy walk from car park. Easy walk also to Bellavista which is slightly larger. Some limited shade but no amenities so bring all you need.

After paying the "Tasa Turistica" you'd expect much better services! Instead of improving the parking facilities, signs on the road or the online info, the town hall prefers to pay staff to just close the accesses to beaches leaving literally hundreds of angry visitors to turn back. It's a problem that is not being addressed in a permanent way. Its also an insult to all who love this island and return year after year.

Fabulous views across the ocean in all directions, nice rocky paths around the lighthouse area, parking on the street. At the lighthouse itself there is a pricey restaurant (which celebrates sunset by waving napkins) and there is a big separate bar area where you pay €12 per person and get any drink off their menu included in the admission.

Great place to walk to from the harbour in cala'n bosch. Amazing views and drink choice is great and reasonable priced considering the location. Staff really friendly and efficient and they even move tables round for you when it rains so you can sit under the covering. You definitely have to visit if your staying in the area.

It is mind blowing, it's a trek (30 min) but it's well worth it! While you are walking there's a point of incredible peace. You see the ocean but you can barely hear it, it's like a murmur. Sleepy coastal small town. Appears to be in the process of being developed into a pretty nice and exclusive resort, with new roads, white washed houses and a few restaurants. Fantastic old quarry, some bits unsuitable if you are a bit unsteady on your feet. Spent a good 2 hours wandering about. The maze is excellent for children.

We would highly recommend a visit to this beautiful botanical quarry. We got a Taxi from Ciutudella which cost around £6. The sheer scale and surroundings is mesmerising. We easily spent 3-4 hours here and enjoyed a picnic in the Medieval Garden. The maze was really good fun and it’s definitely worth a trip down to the Theatre. A lovely day out.

We were optimistic due to the good reviews, but reality is that the botanical gardens are not at all botanical - it’s simply an arranged Mediterranean garden, which must have been beautiful 10 years ago but now is handed over to itself. The industrial side is an impressive whole in the ground but nothing else. No real explanation or living history. We paid 8€ for adults. 3€ would have been ok…

A great place to visit and walk around. Very interesting and unusual. “A large series of gardens in a labyrinth of quarried stone, formed by the interaction of man and nature”. Tip - Purchase tickets online in advance. They only let a few people in at half hour intervals. We booked in the morning for 12pm and people who had arrived without tickets found it was full.

'Old stone quarry' does not sound too exciting ... but it is brilliant! The sheer scale of the quarries is spectacular. You walk around a well signed route and find little planted areas that are cooler and beautifully planted. The maze is great fun and the main amphitheatre is so big you have to look at the size of other visitors to realise the scale!

Interesting stone monument located a small walk from the main road. Monument itself is situated within a walled area accessed through a field which has livestock so something to be aware of. No toilets/cafe etc although some picnic benches located my the monument on the outside of the wall. Plenty of car parking and a gated entrance with a small hut to obtain info and pay for admission.

You have to be a dedicated historian/ archaeologist, keen explorer to enjoy the very exposed walk from the car park to this monument. It's not particularly rough terrain but there are few times of the day when you won't feel the onslaught of hot air and sun. Be warned the crickets have ownership of the field you're walking through. I'm not bothered by them jumping across my path, though young children might yelp in surprise. The written blurb at the entrance and on the boards is quite dry and bland. Man, I got lucky. The first customer of the day, beating a coach party by 20 minutes. Very pleasant receptionist. Site very clean and tidy. All nicely laid out and posted. A 400 metre, easy walk to the chamber, which is quite something to behold. A small, sheltered, picnic area with benches for those needing sustenance.

Cool to see the pre-roman Taliotic history of Menorca. This burial site is between 3/4 thousand years old and is worth a visit if passing, the signs give great detail about the site. Also worth noting that a visit on a Monday or Tuesday is free (otherwise €2).

For anyone interested in bronze age humans this is a vitally important site. It's very simple but a perfect example of a funeral chamber (upturned ship). Fascinating ancient building / burial chamber. It was free entry the day we went, with free parking at any time. I like how it is totally uncommercialised , a few explanatory boards to make you aware of it's history and left to wander around without restriction. You can't enter it but can see inside through the entrance with the aid of a torch. Half hour is plenty,, it's right on the Me-1 so a place to visit on the way to or from elsewhere (it's very close to the Ithaca quarry) but well worth the stop.

10/10 This beach is absolutely breathtaking! The turquoise water is so clear you can see the fish swimming around your feet, and the soft white sand is perfect for relaxing. The surrounding cliffs and greenery make it feel like a hidden paradise. It’s a fantastic spot for swimming, sunbathing, or just taking in the stunning views. It’s a bit of a drive in, and you have to hike about 45 minutes to get to the beach. But you end up at a unique beach with iron red sand that’s a little less crowded. If you don’t mind a little walk, definitely check this little beach out

Amazing beach! would definitely recommend you to go there! Be aware that the road to this beach is aprox. 30-40 min long by walk within first 20 min on a beautiful straight path in a shady grove and then you have a bit steep path with stones and rocks so it is probably not for everyone. Have some snacks and loads of water with you. Wear sneakers or hiking boots!

Punta Nati Lighthouse is a stunning spot to watch the sunset, the views are absolutely beautiful. We learned that it’s best to arrive early if you want to park: the first day we got there just before 8pm and the parking was already full, so we had to leave as there’s nowhere else nearby to park. The next evening we arrived around 7:30pm and found a spot without any issues. From the parking area it’s about a 1km walk to the lighthouse - super easy, but I’d recommend wearing proper shoes as it gets rocky closer to the lighthouse. Definitely worth the visit!

Pretty remote location, you drive a few kilometers on a narrow road and then have to walk another 1000 meters before you get to the lighthouse, which doesn't seem to be open to the public. Climbing over a wall you can walk around it to the cliffs, where you are rewarded with stunning views of the coast line and the sea.

The lighthouse was built in response to numerous shipwrecks along Menorca’s northern coast, particularly after the tragic sinking of the French steamship Général Chanzy in February 1910. This incident resulted in the loss of 156 lives, leaving only one survivor. Under pressure from the French government, construction commenced in 1912, and the lighthouse was officially inaugurated on September 1, 1913. The landscape surrounding Punta Nati is known as “dry Menorca,” characterized by sparse, low-lying vegetation and rugged terrain. The area is marked by long lines of dry stone walls, interspersed with stone huts (barracas or ponts de bestiar) used by shepherds.

A nice spot and viewpoint, after you drive a long straight road, up to mid point, there is no entry of the car. So have to park the car at the car park and then walk around 10-15mins to the entrance of the lighthouse. The gate closes.

We were really impressed by this necropolis. It's easy to park outside with plenty of information boards about the various caves around the site. I was surprised it was just free to enter and walk around! Lovely views over Cala Morrell. If you're in the area I'd also recommend looking around the bronze age fortified settlement remains at Es Coll just on the other side of Cala Morrell.

Was really surprised with how much there was to see her, and all for free!! This would never happen in the UK! There is parking on the road and you just walk through the gates and then you can just wander where you want. Everything is open, no restrictions or safety barriers. The caves and tombs are remarkable, to think they are over 1500 years old! We spent a good hour there. Well worth a visit and then head down to La Morrell beach and have a swim!
