the beach is very well organized with parking space, restaurant, beach bar, beach chairs and umbrellas you can book for the whole time you stay. the stuff is very kind, the prices are absolute ok and important for us: it’s really italian and italians celebrate "family". a great place for a every generation and, it is not too crowded with stingy tourists from other countries, like the well known "pfennigfuchser" !
This is a very nice place to be. It is, however, a bit difficult to find the entrance to the plage especially when it is out of season and there are not many people on the beach. Otherwise I would suggest it in case you would like to have some healing moments.
We came there to swimm for a two hours on Saturday with two small kids. That day was really bad weather and some storm was comming. The vast majority of the people left the beach. We sat doen on one sunbed and some guy called for the cleaning staff to get us out from the beach, because it is private and his friend is owner of the beach! Haha. We moved a hundered metres far and were there two hours, bathing in shallow dirty sea water. We could not believe that everybody must pay 24€ for two sunbeds and one umbrella to be able to sit for a while in that horrible place. Laying on your own blankets is forbidden. It is cheaper to fly to Philippines than pay a fortune to enter that beach. Crazy
The water isn't really clean, a lot of algae and to be honest I wasn't impressed. We had beach tent and we weren't allowed to stay with it on the beach, pretty disappointed. On the other hand, the sand was clean, there are some bars on the beach, quite affordable.
User reviews are being erased, creating a distorted image of the service and depriving customers of genuine experiences to rely on
Twice was enough, never again! Lifeguards plus staff who only cared about getting money for sunbeds and other services they didn't do. They sat in one place all day, talking to each other. If someone's drowning in there, it's not enough to even get there. Plastics and a mess that washed out of the sea were collected by tourists, no one bothered to clean anything from the staff, they didn't care about the mess on the beach at all, they didn't care about anything, I wonder why they were there when they are expensive even for free! The food was great in the restaurant, we just didn't understand why we had to wait a long time for everything and end up looking for the cash register ourselves and go pay for it. The waiter didn't bother to tell us for a long time, while he went to the other tables and the guests paid at the table. Worst-class buffet. Unpleasant young waitresses at the bar who were upset that we wanted something from them. And the worst ever experience leaving the beach... We showered, we were dred, and I wanted to go to the bathroom before the trip, when a local worker told me outside the toilet that I couldn't go in because I was a little wet. She was acting like a guard, screaming and being very unpleasant. She wouldn't let me in at all. Why does such a man work there? She doesn't know how to treat people, and it felt like she was waiting for me to give her some money. I don't understand the operator of this beach who chose this staff, probably picked the worst, because nowhere else in Italy have we had such inconveniences! We'll never go back there, and we'll warn other visitors.
Generally I do not like beaches with sunbeds and umbrellas but this place was clean and not crowdy.
I parked at Aldi for shopping. Unfortunately, I was charged for free 90min parking. Perhaps it only applies to any time outside of August.

Looks amazing. Unfortunately came too late and they were closing their beach area. Restaurant looked nice too. Next time will try to come earlier. Is it gay friendly?
It doesn't even deserve a star! ATTENTION!!! all those who want to travel to Italy. Only certain hotels have private beaches and if you have chosen an accommodation that does not have a private beach, you are NOT allowed to stay on other people's beaches! For a free beach you have to walk through the scorching sun for 1-2 km. Not to mention how horrible all these private beaches look, full of pillars and screens that look like a PRISON! Shame on the authorities, the total lack of respect for tourists.
Went there to have lunch. Very nice place, in front of the sea. The place is a bit pricy but the food is good overall. The service is a bit slow but the experience was good.
It was so relaxing and comfortable! I really enjoyed my day there! Thank you! I will be back)

Came twice this week. Wonderful beach! The sun beds and umbrellas were amazing. The sea was gorgeous! Never felt crowded. Super family friendly! Now we wish we lived here so we’d come all the time here.
Nice beach, but sea wster is not very clean.
with booking ahead crowd is avoided, nice amount of space . clean toilets, helpful staff, recommended
Sun beds are comfortable. Very clean sand and good restaurants on the side.
Family friendly and nice beach. Little bit crowded, but its a big beach
Very poor service by the staff, who were very bad at speaking English and making themselves understood, and explaining themselves. The staff were provocative towards us. I do not recommend anyone to rent chairs from this company
A huge beach area right at the ocean front of Sottomarina. Lot's of space and everything there you need to spend a day relaxing in the sun. Also a kids paradise with lots of safe playgrounds (fences). Also reasonable prices (17€ rent for two sunbeds and an umbrella).
Beautiful beach, a perfect place to relax with your family...

It is a perfect city. Nights are much more interesting and beautiful. Italy is the most magnificent country in the world. Homeland of art, music and pleasure
The Venice Lagoon is an awe-inspiring and enchanting natural wonder that captivates the soul. As one of the most iconic and historically significant landmarks in the world, it offers an experience like no other. Stepping into the Venice Lagoon feels like entering a timeless dream, where centuries-old architecture and Venetian charm blend seamlessly with the tranquil waters. The unique network of canals and waterways, elegantly traversed by gondolas and vaporettos, creates an atmosphere of romance and adventure that is unparalleled. The lagoon's beauty is further enhanced by the stunning architecture of the city, with magnificent palaces, churches, and bridges that seem to float atop the water. The craftsmanship and artistry of these structures are a testament to the rich history and cultural heritage of Venice. Exploring the Venice Lagoon unveils a world of hidden gems and cultural treasures. From the majestic St. Mark's Square and the iconic St. Mark's Basilica to the artistic wonders housed in the city's museums and galleries, there's no shortage of sights to behold and stories to uncover. As the sun sets over the lagoon, the city takes on a magical glow, adding an extra layer of charm to its already mesmerizing ambiance. The play of light on the water and the reflections of the architecture create an ethereal scene that leaves a lasting impression. However, it's essential to remember that the Venice Lagoon faces challenges, including rising sea levels and overtourism. Preserving this unique ecosystem and cultural treasure is crucial for future generations to experience the beauty and history it holds. Visiting the Venice Lagoon is an unforgettable journey that touches the heart and sparks the imagination. Its timeless allure, artistic splendor, and romantic atmosphere make it a must-see destination for anyone seeking a transformative and enriching travel experience.
Enchanted place, that only locals know, id est almost free of tourists by now, and full of birds and a wonderful nature. A paradise for rowers too.
One of the most beautiful and stunning places i've ever been to. Wonderful atmosphere, incredible architecture and buildings, definitely worth a visit!
One of most mesmerizing place on this planet earth.
Feeling the wind while traveling with the "vaporetto" (water bus) is the best way to get in touch with the soul of the lagoon. There are a lot af islands but the best one in my opinion is Certosa. You can reach many different places around included Lido where you can find a relaxing beach. Sunset is very special here. Would be the best way to complete a tour in the Venice Lagoon. Check the fotos
The Venetian Lagoon is an experience of immersion in the nature. I visit the Lagoon frequently, to walk and to take photos of birds. Last visit was on May, when we started a walk from Lio Piccolo, encountering several species of birds. I suggest the visit to everyone, starting from Treporti or from Lio Maggiore. Best way to visit the Lagoon is by boat, or using a mountain bike, but if you simply like to walk, it is perfect too. During the last visit we found a lot of flamingos
First site you see from a vaporeta ( motorized boat) when you approach Vennice. The Dalmatian coast ( the coast where boats take passingers off) stretches across the lagoon. You can even rent a gondola ( traditional venecian rowing boat). Very nice and lively place full of history.

Great historical landmark
Tower with nice view plus museum. Great view on town, lagune, see, even Venice Only 1,5 Euro + kids free in Italy? It like nothing.
Worth a visit, fantastic view.
(Translated by Google) Beautiful clock from the 1300s. A donation of 3 euros is requested and you go up with a wooden ladder. It has two 12-hour numerals on the dial. And it is the second oldest in the world, UNESCO has named it a world heritage site. The climb is not tiring because on each floor there is an exhibition of shells, artifacts with shells, explanations of the clock which is located on the penultimate floor. On the top floor there are 3 bells and a beautiful 360 degree view of Chioggia. A very helpful volunteer, who winds the watch, provided detailed information on its functioning and history. The clock was built by Jacopo Dondi in the 1300s and was in the praetorian palace, then it was donated to the church of S. Andrea and placed on the tower. Dante also mentions the clock in a verse of Paradise.

(Translated by Google) The Clock Tower, used as the bell tower of the church of S.Andrea, is of very ancient origins. It probably dates back to at least the year 1000, probably on the remains of a Roman-Byzantine construction. It was originally used as a lighthouse or watchtower. Its clock is, probably, the oldest working clock in the world (the dispute is with the clock of Salisbury Cathedral..). It is activated, on a demonstration level, during some visits. The tower is accessible (nice view from above) at a cost of 1.50 euros (I think only on Sundays, from 10.30am to 5.30pm....). Inside, a small museum with its history. Viene attivato, a livello dimostrativo, durante alcune visite. When I'm at the seaside I prefer local fish specialties for both lunch and dinner, fortunately I have a partner who loves all the variations as much as I do, which is why we discovered this place attracted only by the unmistakable aroma of cooking. Excellent fried seafood and a wide choice of fish dishes, friendly, dynamic and fast staff. It has a large internal and external space where you can sit spaced apart without confusion and a beautiful children's playground in front of the tables to give parents the opportunity to eat in peace while keeping them under control. Excellent lunch break between a sun and sea bath. Congrats on the royal starter. The magic of calli (narrow streets), picturesque canals, historical testimonies, architectural heritage made up of houses and bridges, Chioggia seems like little Venice and has a lot to offer. Starting from Campo Santa Caterina, the aristocratic square loved by Curzio Malaparte, where the Clock Tower stands out, a former lighthouse that has become a museum. Then the nearby church of San Martino and the famous Pescaria, where a characteristic famous fish market is held every morning. Among the many little-known treasures of Chioggia's heritage, the church of San Giacomo di Chioggia deserves full attention. Located in the historic center and very popular among the faithful, it has a very rich history that began in Roman times with the construction of a three-nave building with low pillars, but which after the collapse of the apse on the night between 24 and 25 November 1741, replaced the current single-nave Church. It was consecrated in 1790 and raised to the level of the basilica of 1806, which now has a simple stone façade, surmounted by a tympanum. In the same year, it became a refuge for the icon of the Madonna della Marina, also known as the Madonna della Navicella, an object of great veneration among the faithful and whose discovery became a legend thanks to the gardener. In fact, man seems to have been inspired by the appearance of the Virgin in a dream, in 1508, on Sottomarina beach. In her apparition, Our Lady kept the body of Christ tormented by the many sins of the citizens of Chioggia and entrusted the gardener that God's wrath, if they do not begin to atone for their sins as soon as possible, will fall on Chioggia. Today, this icon can be admired in a lavish high altar, surrounded by a striking array of ex-votos, a testimony to the folk piety that surrounds the place of worship. In addition to the famous icon, the church houses other significant works of art, such as the altarpiece depicting two saints Giovanni Bellini in the lower part and the upper part attributed to Antonio Marinetti, a local painter named Chiozzotto. An exceptionally beautiful altar is the Altar of Saints Sebastian and Rocco, with an ancient altarpiece depicting two saints and a plaque with the image of Our Lady taken from a fresco located in the Palazzo Granaio in Chioggia. On the ceiling, in a fresco of 223 square meters, the martyrdom and glorification of St. James are represented. The work was performed by brothers Alessandro and Romualdo Mauri of Vicenza and by Chioggia Antonio Marinetti, the first depicting the moment of martyrdom (below), the second, the saint's ascension to heaven.
A stunning church 😻😻
We read its more authentic than Venice, lotsa hoopla. But actually, no comparison w Venice. In our books, just go to the real thing!! for the full charm and magic: stick with Venice, its canals, shops, amazing architecture, etc etc etc. Just our opinion, for all the driving, traffic etc.
Simply nice place to visit.
(Translated by Google) It is the second largest church in Chioggia. Rebuilt in 1742 on the remains of an older temple (perhaps from the 11th century...), it contains valuable statues and frescoes from the 18th century, many votive offerings from local fishermen, also dating back to the 15th century. It has a bell tower almost 38 meters high, and one of its sides overlooks the Vena Canal, the most characteristic of Chioggia.

(Translated by Google) The Church of San Giacomo is one of Chioggia's many treasures. Construction of the church began in 1740, starting from the existing Romanesque building, which had three naves supported by low columns. A single nave was chosen for this church, designed by Domenico Pelli. It was consecrated in 1790 and elevated to a basilica in 1806. In the same year, it became the home of the icon, "The Madonna della Marina," an object of great veneration among the faithful. The church is a veritable treasure trove of numerous works of art. The first of these is an altarpiece, whose lower section depicts two saints, attributed to Giovanni Bellini, also known as Giambellino (1430-1516), while the upper section is attributed to Antonio Marinetti, a local painter known as Chiozzotto, who was a pupil of the famous Giovanni Battista Piazzetta.

We come from Croatia and Serbia and we are delighted with the beach in Sottomarina. The beach is large, sandy, clean and very well equipped. Next to each part of the beach you have a coffee bar where you can have a drink or eat something. We are located in Capinera apartments, so just cross the road and the beach is not immediately there. We love this place and would definitely recommend it.
Perfect Family Beach Spot! Bagni Nuova Marina Sirenella exceeded our expectations! The beach is spotless, with plenty of space and well-maintained facilities. My kids enjoyed every moment, from playing in the sand to splashing in the shallow, clear water. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The sunbeds were comfortable, and the food at the on-site restaurant was delicious, with options that pleased both adults and children. It's a fantastic place for a family day out, and we can't wait to return. Highly recommend for families looking for a great beach experience!

Nice sandy beach. Great place to get sun and beach
First, they take the money, then they provide you the spot with beach chairs and sunshade. In case of very bad location - like behind the wc, they wont give you the money back.
Well maintained beach. Parking lot onsite. Fair pricing for umbrella and sunbeds. Clean washroom with hot showers available. And the sand is fine and the water pleasant

On the opposite side of the promenade is the Cathedral (Duomo) from the 17th century with many elements of earlier church that were there since the 11th century. Built by the famous architect Baldassare Longhena. The cathedral is dedicated to the saints of Chioggia patrons, Felice e Fortunato. The cathedral is beautiful in its simplicity and leaves a rich impression of monumentality. The altars were made by great Venezian masters Jacopo Palma il Giovane and Francesco Rosa. Next to the church is the bell tower, in the Romanesque style, the Tempietto (small temple), in which it is the oldest art work in the city, polyptych by famous painter Paolo Veneziano. Beautiful Cathedral.

Free access church close to the main road of Chioggia. It is a relaxing place to be for short time.
Historic and beautful
Recommend to visit it, beautiful historical, archeological and religious monument.

We visited the beach area on our trip to Chioggia from the UK. By chance we found that you are better off booking the sun loungers and parasol online using the Bagni Perla app, this was very simple and easy to navigate. The beach was very crowded but knowing that we had booked our sun beds online relieved any stress of getting one. You walk in on the day, but we tried this at another beach, but was met with a negative reaction. You have all the amnesties and more that you could possible want, we used the Reataurant/Bar, the food, service and cost was outstanding.
It's a very good structure. There are slides and a playground for the kids, they are extremely well organised with parking and sunbeds to rent and generous with the spritz. There are plenty of showers and toilets and 2 bars to get food from. Giving only 4 stars because they don't sell any suncream or other things that would be useful at the beach with the kids (inflatables or buckets). Overall great experience, we've been coming here for years and will never change
Great beach. Beautiful and clean. Maurizio was very helpful and professional
Huge beach, quite clean, Service is good. In high season low on parking spaces
Sottomarina sea is better than no sea at all. Tanning is exquisit !
Beautiful place and people so kind and helpful

Fabulous fish market, everything so fresh. This week it is the fish festival in the evenings when everyone gathers to eat locally caught fish from communal tables in the town centre.
Wonderful experience. Must see whether you are actually buying fish or even just to get a look . Varied fresh fish and seafood at very reasonable price. Beautiful setting. Very friendly sellers
This is the fish market for the locals to shop at but not the huge fish exchange that is not open to tourists. It’s full of the catch of the day but was pretty unkempt with ducks walking through freely.
All kinds of fresh fish, very reasonable prices, all merchants accept credit cards
Fabulous weekly market(Thursdays). The fish market is amazing(and open every day but Monday)
The freshest seafood in Italy
Everything fresh, as you can see
I am sure footed here but slipped later. What a scare!

Well equipped beach club with everything you need, beachfront, nice restaurant with local dishes and welcoming staff. Very recommended!
It may be the covid effect, but I had never seen such an attention to hygiene in any similar establishment. The restaurant and toilets were spotless and the attendants raked the sand for rubbish almost every hour. On the down side, (I appreciate it is not the establishment's fault but) I have to remark that the sea was quite dirty. Also, as is almost always the case in Northern Italy, the beach is quite crowded with tightly packed parasols.
The worst place in Venice province
Every year when I am in Italy I come here. Coolest 🌴 in the area. Clean with great service and awesome music!
Lovely clean beach. Good beach restaurant. Nice staff
