This place is mesmerizing. Happy by just walking around the garden and taking few pictures. There are two exits. You can go out and return by asking the staff to stamp on your wrist. There’s entrance near the port, very easy to walk to this place. We did not buy the ticket in advance since we saw the notice in the booking website that we need to be in line to get ticket anyway. Luckily, there was no queue, I believe because we visited during weekday in the afternoon (Oct 6). Not too many people there. Recommend!
It’s a very beautiful garden right on the lake. I don’t mind paying 10€ just to walk through the park because it does take some work to maintain the garden. It’s a nice place, there’s a museum too. However you cannot enter the main villa and it’s just not that amazing overall. It’s still a great place to be away from the touristy centro of Bellagio
Nice place to stroll in Bellagio! The garden is super well-kept and even has tropical plants like banana trees 🍌🍌🍌 Great for photos, an afternoon walk, or just to chill after lunch. Worth a visit if you’re around!
Beautiful place for a 45-60 minute walk, to have the full experience. Nice walking paths along the garden with various plants and trees. All this goes along the Como lake waterfront.
Opening hours are daily 10 am to 6:30 pm. The gardens are closed in the winter time. In 2025 it will close on Oct 31st and will reopen in March 2026. Cost is 10€ you buy tickets at the gates. 2 gates entry one on each side. Located in the town of Bellagio on lake como. Parking is limited as the town of Bellagio is very popular in the summer.
The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and so well cared for. Everywhere you look, there’s beautiful greenery and an incredible variety of trees. It’s such a peaceful, stunning place to walk through. If you’re visiting Bellagio, this is a must see. I highly recommend making time for a visit.
Gorgeous gardens with different small hiding places and paths. Beautiful scenery, amazing views, you can really unwind and soothe your soul here. If you're into gardens you can't miss this one. If you're not so much into gardens, you should still visit this one.
Villa Melzi is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited. The gardens are immaculate, peaceful, and filled with stunning colors, especially in spring. Every path reveals something new—ancient trees, vibrant flowers, classical statues, and breathtaking views of the lake. The atmosphere is serene and elegant, perfect for a relaxing stroll or quiet reflection. The neoclassical villa adds a timeless charm, and the small museum and chapel offer fascinating historical insight. The combination of nature, art, and history is truly unique. It felt like walking through a living painting.

Came here for the sunset views and did not disappoint! It was beautiful! However there were many insects flying around at night but I guess that’s to be expected.
Good observation deck with really beautiful views of Lake Como. There's a stairway to the lake. Around 10 minutes walk from the Bellagio's ferry/boat terminal. Worth a visit. Free of charge. There are some restaurants near it. No public toilet there.
Absolutely beautiful spot! The view of Lake Como from here is breathtaking — peaceful, romantic, and perfect for photos. A must-visit if you’re in Bellagio. Easy to reach, no crowds on weekdays, and completely worth the walk. ✨🇮🇹
Great little picture spot not too crowded the day we went. Lots of uphill climbing and stairs in Bellagio so be ready with some good shoes!
Amazing views of the lake, we were there on a very cloudy day in October, so not the best for photos, but is was worth it . Btw, the 2hr boar ride back to Como is also a delight in any weather.
The go-to place to take photos in Bellagio. Such a beautiful spot. Italy's views are OP
The view is amazing from Punta Spartivento. In october not too many people.
Superb, it was a dream of mine to visit Lake Como and it has come true!! The gardens of Villa Monastero were an oasis of beauty and relaxation❤️ We visited on a Saturday morning, at 10, perfect weather, few visitors, it was a wonderful experience!!!! I was in heaven!

Open and free for pilgrimage and Good Friday if you are Catholic there’s an ancient cross enclosed in metal must be 5th century
Basilica of San Giacomo is located in downtown Bellagio, in the upper part of town reachable via stairs, or a detouring path around without them. This small, yet interesting Church dates back to 12 cent, built in Romanesque style. We found the interiors with stone decorations very nice
The Basilica of St James, the first Apostle to be martyred, is a beautiful, quiet place for reflection and prayer. What do you believe in so much that you would give your life? It was also the Blessed Virgin Mary’s birthday September 8, so there were two special masses in her honor.
Its a magical and beautiful Basillica Always overcrowed though but the beauty makes you forget that. Take a picture and make memories.
The Basilica of St James is a beautiful, quiet place for reflection and prayer. In the heart of beautiful Bellagio, it can be very busy at times!
A beautiful gothic themed church. The quiet and beautiful chapel interior will strike a tone with you once you enter; making you contemplative and serene. In the church itself - there are seats at the front for visitors or worshippers. On the left side are the artistic showcases; with even a contemporary piece by a local and recent artiste who contributed a modern piece into the church. Other artistic pieces date back to the churches founding so they are quite ancient. On the right of the church you can see their organ.
The basilica of San Giacomo is one of the oldest church in Bellagio, located away from the streets and steps of Bellagio but close enough that you will not miss. An ancient basilica that bring an old charm to como. Worth a visit.
It's a very beautiful place where you can find peace in such a busy and lively location. You can also have a coffee around here ☕️

We enjoyed a fantastic visit to the park wary May. Paula our guide was brilliant, she gave us a brilliant walking tour in both English and Italian and included fascinating history of the lake as well as the Villa Serbelloni. A beautiful tour which we would recommend to anyone visiting, one of the few places that you can see both legs of the lake. Breathtaking views. A small group visiting the Villa gardens with us made a big difference. Only two tours happen per day 11 and 15. Best to book in advance online to secure your spot.
the tour was amazing!! 1.5-2hrs in italian with english translation, Marta was an excellent guide! the park was very nice and scenic and the views of the lake were so wonderful
Very nice small piazza at the end of Bellagio high up from the main street. A few good cafes and one church makes this piazza a pleasant place to visit. Colino1861 recommended ✅️
Not worth the visit at all. Obliged to be on an endless, boring guided tour, with nothing special to see in the park besides a few lake views that don't compete with other places in the area. In terms of parks Villa Carlotta is 20 times better
A walk through the park, there are no spectacular plants to see, only views. The walk should take a maximum of 45 minutes, it lasts over 2 hours, more standing and listening to stories in 3 languages, a lady guide, unfortunately you won't learn anything interesting that isn't on the internet, after a 15 minute stop and walk 100 meters, another stop for 10 minutes and so on. It's worth coming for the views alone, but it's a waste of 2 hours. I recommend it especially for seniors, more standing than sightseeing. It could call a state in the park rather than a trip around the park. an exceptionally slow and boring tour, if it were only an hour long it would be worth recommending, but the guide forcibly extends it to 2 hours.
Place is amazing and views are stunning, guide excellent and super well prepared. A definite must. Assolutamente da non perdere
Very nice park! They have a place for children to play and one amazing view
Informative and interesting tour by Paula who runs the tour in 3 languages concurrently! Amazing view from atop and it’s definitely worth spending two hours around this tranquil park.

We tried out the self-service wine tasting here. The staff were excellent and gave us lots of information about the different wines on offer. You pay between €2 and €6 for each sample.
Both the wine and the service were absolutely excellent. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance—informative yet relaxed—allowing for genuine conversations and even a few laughs about the combination of drunk people, stairs and hanging cactuses 😆. The service feels truly personal, thoughtfully tailored to each customer's tastes and needs. And as a wonderful bonus, knowing that some fantastic wine is heading home with you just tops off the experience perfectly.
A real hidden gem in Bellagio! We loved this unique wine bar experience — we sat on cushions on the town steps, enjoyed a glass of wine with a delicious aperitif snack, and soaked in the atmosphere. It was a truly special moment. ✨ The wines were outstanding! We spent two weeks traveling all over Italy, north to south, tasting wines — and these were the best we had the entire trip, including the prosecco! 💡 The concept is super original and charming, and we absolutely loved the relaxed, laid-back vibe. 😊 The service was also fantastic — we were served by a young man and woman, both incredibly friendly, helpful, and full of great recommendations. Highly recommended for any wine lovers visiting Bellagio! 🍷
For over six years now, every visit to Como wouldn’t be complete without a stop at Enoteca La Principessa in Bellagio. Lorenzo and his family are truly exceptional — warm, gracious, and deeply passionate about what they do. This is far more than a wine shop; it’s a place of friendship, discovery, and shared stories poured into every glass. Lorenzo has an incredible gift — not only does he curate one of the finest selections of wines in the region, but he also remembers every bottle you’ve purchased, every label you’ve loved, and every taste that spoke to you. His knowledge of wine is matched only by his enthusiasm to share it, making each visit both educational and deeply personal. Whether you’re a seasoned wine lover or just beginning your journey, Lorenzo will guide you to something unforgettable. And for those who can’t carry it all home — he ships worldwide, so the magic of Bellagio can find its way right to your doorstep. If you ever find yourself wandering through Bellagio, do yourself a favor: stop by Enoteca La Principessa. Pick up a bottle—or a case—and raise a glass to good friends, great wine, and the joy of living well. Salute! 🍷
We had such a great time! The service is impeccable and the staff is super friendly. We had a bottle of their sparkling wine, it was delicious! Definitely recommend if you are in Belaggio 🥰
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Large selection of Italian wine. Nice place to sit in the stairs to have some glasses before shopping wine.
This is a must do in Bellagio. Have an authentic Italian wine outdoors sitting on the steps with an aperitivo. Excellent wine, great service and atmosphere. I recommend the Sicilian Kike. So good we had to have another! The nature of the atmosphere means you get yarning with other people on the steps and meet other tourists too. A must do!
What a fabulous little wine shop!!! This adorable shop has a wonderful selection of wines. The lady inside was incredibly helpful in picking a wine. We told her our dinner plans, our budget, and our preferences and she did the rest. Her choice was perfect! They offer free samples of limoncello. We were surprised by the variety with that. We also did a wine tasting. The wine tasting works this way: The lady at the register will provide you with a card. Scan the card in the wine dispenser and then push the wine option you want to try. Each taste of wine is priced according to the variety of the wine. Try as many wines as you wish. Once you are done, take your card to the register and pay for the tasting. I did the wine tasting with my best friend and it was super helpful in picking our second bottle of wine. Thank you for such wonderful service. It was really memorable!

Perched atop a hill, a humble Bellagio church quietly stands at a corner of a narrow road. Stepping inside reveals a treasure from the 11th century: a fresco portraying the Madonna della Cintura, accompanied by a wooden statue of the same figure.
Small and serene chapel right after the narrow uphill alleys of Bellagio
It is a nice church and free to go. The area is very solemn also.
Cute little chapel here.
Quiet place to be reflective. A special place in our heart as it offered a peaceful place to escape a storm.
(Translated by Google) The small church of San Giorgio is located next to the town hall of Bellagio. It is contemporary with the main church of the city, the Basilica of San Giacomo: in fact, both date back to the 11th-12th century (precisely, the church of San Giorgio is dated between 1080 and 1120). Over the centuries, it has undergone several structural changes and renovations, but the Romanesque style, typical of the era in which the church was built, is present in the perimeter walls, in the splay windows (i.e. with the jamb cut obliquely towards the inside or the outside) and in the small portal. The bell tower is very characteristic and sits astride a small portico, along Salita Genazzini; inside, there is a fresco dating back to the 11th century of the Madonna della Cintura and a wooden statue of the same.

Very interesting and informative small museum about navigation with many old antique pieces on display. If you are in the neighbourhood definitely worth popping in.
It is a lovely museum about navigation instruments. It is a private collection. There is information about some instruments in English and Italian. There was also a nice tour in English. She was very knowledgeable about it all. The staff and the owner were very friendly. There is a toilet. The railings are not that sturdy. Do not lean on it. It was quite cheap. Only €5 per person. The location on Google Maps is not quite right. You have to go upstairs from where it is located on the map. Then it is on the right. If you don't find it. Just ask the locals. That's how we found it. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes the sea, navigation, telescopen, microscopes, and all that is old.
Museum is not easy to find. It is on a side street as you enter San Giovanni from Balligo. The shop faces the parking lot. Loaded with old navigation instruments from 17 and 1800s plus other things. It is from owner’s private collection. Keep in mind it’s only open 10:00 - 1:00. I was hoping it would have some things from Marco Polo and Columbus eras, but it was still good.
Marketed simply as "interesting", this tourist trap is impossible to find and open for 3 hours 10:00 to 13:00. Do these people even work?
A unique collection of old navigation instruments.
Small museum but absolutely packed with history and artifacts. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Worth a stop if you're interested in navigation or European history.
This place does not exist. Or it is impossible to find...
Very interesting in a rainy day.

The restoration and expansion works carried out in 1785 gave it its current appearance, with the construction of the baroque façade and the placement of the high altar in carved and gilded wood, accompanied by wooden statues, a seventeenth-century work by artists from Valtellina. On that occasion, the stucco decorations and frescoes that adorn the barrel vault, the apse and the lowered dome at the intersection of the single nave with the large and spacious transept were also created. Inside, you can also admire: - an oil painting depicting the Risen Christ with Saints, dated 1532; - an altarpiece by Gaudenzio Ferrari; - a fresco of the Lombard school depicting the Madonna delle Grazie; - a valuable Carrara marble sculpture of the Immaculate Conception, from the school of Bernini, attributed to Ercole Ferrata.

Between Art and Mystery: Our family had an inspiring experience with Abele and Francesca. Abele is a master of so many artistic techniques, and we had so much fun figuring out the clues and engaging in the challenges in the beautiful garden setting. Francesca planned our adventure with delightful details/clues. The kids (ages 10 and 12), parents and grandparents loved it. Each task involved riddles, challenges or demonstrating a technique that was taught (I don't want to give too much away). It was also lovely with leave with some art that we'd made, and the skills and tools to make more in the future. Don't get too caught up in the game/competition to miss out on how many amazing works of art around you in Villa Melzi were created by the master in your presence!
Had a great experience learning the secret history of color fabrication techniques. Afterwards we were given the opportunity to create a small work of art with the paints we had created followed by a leisurely stroll through the amazing gardens of the Villa D'Melzi. This was a worthwhile and extremely educational activity in an amazing setting. I would highly recommend it, no prior art experience or knowledge is necessary, but it will certainly give you a greater insight and appreciate for art you see elsewhere in Italy.

Painting in the gardens of Villa Melzi with Abele was magical: he is an extraordinary artist, capable of making you look at the landscape with new eyes and discovering the beauty of art even if you thought you weren't capable. I've never been able to draw, yet, with his guidance, I created a painting that moves me every time I look at it... I even framed it and hung it in my house! Abele not only has an in-depth knowledge of art, but he lives and transmits it with genuine passion. A special thanks also to Francesca and Alessandra, always available, smiling, and super kind: they make everything even more pleasant and welcoming. An experience I recommend to everyone: it's an unforgettable journey into art and beauty. This hotel was incredible from start to finish. The rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The staff—especially at reception—were beyond amazing, so kind, attentive, and helpful throughout our stay. The views of Lake Como were stunning, and the daily breakfast offered a great variety of options. We also loved the convenient shuttle into town. Truly one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. Can’t recommend it enough!
Everything was amazing. I could not be more happy about our stay. The location was perfect and the views were phenomenal. The staff was very kind and helpful and always reachable by Whatsapp. The room was comfortable, stocked with water for us daily and complimentary wine when we arrived. The food was really good, both the breakfast and the bistro options. The pool was perfect after a long day of travel. San Giovanni was easily reachable by the stone path/stairs and Bellagio was quickly reachable by hotel's shuttle service. We enjoyed staying in more than going out because everything was just so great + the views were easily the best in Bellagio. 10/10 ⭐ I hope I can come back and stay here again in the future.
What a gem! Located about 15 minutes by car from downtown (or 40 minute walk), this charming hotel has friendly staff, sweeping views, beautiful rooms and add-on amenities like included breakfast, shuttle to downtown Bellagio (for a fee), small onsite bar for meals, a parking lot and a pool. We reserved a room with a wrap around terrace - it was a perfect place to rest with a book overlooking a beautiful view. The only reason you would not book here is if you wanted to be in the downtown area. We arrived by train into Lecco and took a taxi to the hotel (pricey but there were some issues with the trains and easier than the bus with luggage). Highly recommend!
Borgo Le Terrazze is an absolute gem in Bellagio. The location is perfect—peaceful and scenic, yet only a few minutes from the center of town. The views from the property are simply spectacular, overlooking the stunning expanse of Lake Como. The hourly shuttle service to and from the city center was a total game-changer, making it super easy to explore Bellagio without any hassle. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, always ready to make our stay comfortable. The rooms were modern, well-appointed, and offered everything you’d expect from a high-quality boutique hotel. The pool and outdoor seating areas are an experience of their own—relaxing, quiet, and offering some of the best views you’ll find anywhere on the lake. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Lake Como—you won’t want to leave!
The view is absolutely insane. Service and staff are amazing. Rooms are nice. The shuttle to town is life-saver. Overall we loved our time here and would recommend to anyone staying in the area. As a wheelchair user, also major kudos for having such good accommodations in a notoriously inaccessible region.
We are finishing our Italian trip in Lake Como and booked a room. First the property is in a magnificent location overlooking Bellagio and Lake Como. The staff are friendly and very helpful. We had a problem with our rental and they were very kind offering to translate and help us. All with a smile and elegant Italian hospitality. The shuttle service down to town was always on time and very easy to use, the room was very clean and the view is stunning and the staff made this a five star stay
This place was amazing, the view of Lake Como from the hotel is absolutely beautiful. The staff here are very professional and helpful, they will give you all the resources you need so you can not only enjoy the time at the hotel, but also the surrounding areas such as the town of Bellagio near by. My favorite part of this hotel is the owner, she is absolutely amazing, she is very sweet, and she will make you feel right at home.
The views, the value, the service! This hotel is small but beautiful! The breakfast was delicious! The shuttle is very timely and easy to book! We stayed in the Carlotta suite and I didn’t want to leave! The terrace and patio were everything!

wow. This is some deeply beautiful art here. Ive studied impressionism and this is the real thing. Not from pictures. Not copying anyone else's style. When I look at his work, I feel peaceful and excited at the same time. How does he do that? I visited the gallery a few years ago. It was a memorable experience. I thought the paintings were very reasonable in price, far better than the galleries in the US.
Beautiful pieces with the fresh colors of Lake Como!
Very nice and beautiful art pieces. Bit costly but good.

Fantastic service and extremely helpful. We had trouble booking things because we weren't fluent in Italian, but the woman there (spoke both English and Italian well) helped us tremendously. She was very patient and worked hard to get us where we needed to be. Highly recommend.
Wonderfully helpful in suggestions of how to spend our day visiting Bellagio Favourite village
Como is a picturesque city located in the Lombardy region of northern Italy. Situated on the southern tip of Lake Como, it's renowned for its stunning scenery, historic architecture, and vibrant culture. The city is famous for its beautiful lakefront promenade, charming cobblestone streets, and the impressive Como Cathedral, a magnificent example of Gothic architecture. Como is also known for its silk industry, with a long history of producing high-quality silk products. Additionally, it serves as a gateway to the surrounding Lake Como area, with its luxurious villas, lush gardens, and scenic mountain vistas attracting visitors from around the world.
Very informative & helpful. Nothing was a problem. They printed out information & gave good tips on travel.
Great help and advice on local tours and ferry, and going above and beyond when we had a problem, even though it had nothing to do with them. Carlo (?) made phone calls on our behalf and solved all our problems, asking only that we remember Bellagio fondly and consider coming back. You cannot ask for better than that. We loved our Bellagio stay and the service we received here was the cherry on top. Thanks !
Fantastic help from all staff on every matter - tours, transport. Marta was very knowledgeable too. thank you so much
Really helpful and sweet. Good suggestions
The people working here gave us the wrong information FOUR TIMES!! It was pouring rain and we were trying to catch a boat back to our hotel. They had us standing at the wrong docks, buying tickets for the wrong boats, and were so rude when we went get to the window for clarification. It took us hours to get out of the rain and back to our hotel.

Fantastic place to shop for Italian art. We walked past Barbara’s shop and were immediately drawn to a Carlo Bianchi piece at the window. She was so helpful and patient, sharing with us about the artist and possible ways to display the art. She also arranged DHL express for international shipping over email for the 5 pieces we decided to purchase. Thank you again, Barbara!
We worked with Barbara and purchased a lovely piece of artwork. There was some confusion internal to the shipping company, but Barbara resolve all of the issues professionally. When buying artwork that must be shipped, it is helpful to know that you will have quality support and service throughout the process. Highly recommend!
Barbara was great. She helped us choose a beautiful peace of art which we chose as a souvenir of our visit to this beautiful town.
Last week I went for a walk in Bellagio and stopped in this shop cause I saw in the window a beautiful painting of the lake. I had a pleasant talk with the owner, who is very qualified and expert in modern and contemporary art. She can help you if you want something specific, i.e. she can contact the painter for a painting on commission along your wishes. All the paintings and the sculptures exposed are exquisite and in excellent style! I fall in love with a very particular sculpture of Franz Borghese and I think I will surely come back. I highly recommend this gallery if you are looking for serious and valuable pieces of art.
We bought this beautiful piece at Valentinarte. A great experience from beginning to end: walking thru the door, Barbara helping us fall in love w./ the art, and having it shipped to the US! A great memento of our trip to Bellagio.
This is a wonderful gallery in the heart of Bellagio. Barbara is a great host and they offer a beautiful collection of art of which marco grassi is our favorite. We are very satisfied and returning customers and can recommend visiting this gallery. Marco and Milou

(Translated by Google) And a place for the curious and lovers of the past.
(Translated by Google) The House of Flying Bicycles was born from the genius (and ingenuity) of a carpenter, Ivan Gilardoni, a passionate collector and restorer of bicycles, who, having no more space to place the over 100 bikes in his possession, decided to hang them on the facade of his house. An original idea that was born in the heart of the small village of San Giovanni, among the maze of stone-paved streets that lead to the lake, the silence of the low season and the cozy houses of the fishermen of the past. A house that communicates at a glance its owner's passion for two wheels and his commitment to recovering and fixing them with careful conservative restoration, so as to also restore them to our gaze as if time had never passed. It's impossible not to imagine the stories behind those bicycles: which flying cyclists have ridden them over the years, including street cleaners, firefighters, postmen, soldiers of fortune or runners? If you are passing through, stop by and take a look: among the narrow stone alleys of the hamlet, the House of Flying Bicycles will suddenly appear before you and can only make you smile. ☺️🚲
The idea is great but I think it should not be stated as museum. The place seems like normal house. Some people are living there, there is not much to see except the pictures
