Waft the mineral notes to your nose, inhale the sulphides. Thermal waters are supposedly great for joints and health.
There is street market on Tuesday, it’s fun to walk around for my first time visiting.
A must see. Very cool history and walk around the town. Lots of neat places nearby to get food.
Very friendly atmosphere and lovely decor make it very inviting. The staff is super nice and attentive. The food is fresh, delicious, and nicely presented. The view of the Fontana is beautiful. A perfect place for a great meal.
Amazing 75 c water just running, a place to visit when in this area We where there on a sunday so not many People. But think on a normal day there is much more. A very nice city also with a lot of shops, so if you want to see an old italian city this is a place to visit
Wonderful late 18th century natural thermal spring. Be careful not to burn your hands, it's about 75°C in winter! The town itself offers lots of cozy bars and cafes and comes alive in the evening
Temple to water? Yes please! Bollente hot springs surge from a glorious temple in a pretty town square. Reconnect with water. 💙💧💙

The 2000 year old Roman aqueduct is one of the best kept remains of its kind in Northern Italy. It is assumed that it used to be 12 km long and had a 50 meter hight difference so water would travel from nearby mountains into the city. What a testimony to human engeneering !
Its really beautiful to see and has a huge park to walk on the side. Unfortunately when i visited there was a flood due to rain and me and my wife couldn't go down.
Amazing scenery, wonderful town, friendly people !
Very cool, well preserved remains of a Romantic Aqueduct. There are educational displays in Italian and English. No entry charge (as they are just in the middle of a public park).
It's there and it's old. Not much more to say about it. A bit far out from the town centre parking to walk easily.
Park with ancient Roman Aqueduct remains. Nice park with bike route and walking area. Lots of benches and bike parking areas.
Nice place to visit with kids: there's a big playground nearby and you can seat and enjoy a view of remains of impressive big aqueduct.
Roman ruins. Iconic and historic, but that's about it. You'll have to Google the history yourself. Great spot for pictures as the sun goes down.

That painting! It’s just breathtaking. The energy it exudes is something else. The caretaker was super nice and took us to the bishops private chapel where the painting is. Go check it out, it’s def worth it. The church itself is really beautiful as well.
We had the great privilege of getting married in the magnificent cathedral of Acqui Terme — a sacred, majestic place full of history. All of our guests were deeply impressed by the beauty and grandeur of the venue — a hidden gem in the heart of the city. The ceremony was celebrated by Bishop Luigi Testore, a kind, open-minded, and attentive man who speaks several languages, which was incredibly valuable for our international group of guests. Our preparation was guided by Don Giorgio, who supported us with clarity, warmth, and discretion, while allowing us the freedom to shape a ceremony that truly reflected who we are. We will always carry a strong and emotional memory of that moment. Whether you are religious or simply a lover of meaningful places, this cathedral is truly worth discovering.
Amazing. While looking around silently an older man came up to me and bade me to follow him into a room he had to unlock. Fearing but God (not death nor the devil), I followed him and was rewarded with access to the beautiful (folding)altar you see in the pictures. There are nice flyers available of that there too. Caring trust is still worth it :) p.s.: The picture of the ceiling is not showing God high-fiving (as it seemed at first), but the expulsion of Luzifer btw.
Lovely Place. Do not forget to listen to the guide.

(Translated by Google) An unexpected discovery: Acqui Terme and its treasures. On our way home from vacation, we decided to stop in Acqui Terme, a town I wasn't familiar with and knew very little about. Searching online, I discovered a fountain in the center of town, "La Bollente," from which thermal water flows at a whopping 70 degrees Celsius. Intrigued, my family and I headed there before leaving. Upon arrival, we immediately realized the village held an ancient soul, but we had few historical references. It was then that, right in front of the fountain, we met two locals: Fabrizio and Leonardo. Both were friendly and helpful, and the conversation with them proved pleasant and interesting. The two friends volunteered to accompany us on a journey through Acqui Terme's most significant sites. With passion and expertise, Leonardo guided us to discover the town's historical and artistic treasures, enthusiastically recounting its history and traditions. His culture and historical knowledge are truly remarkable: every word conveyed a love for the region and a sincere desire to share it. We had an authentic experience that made us feel welcomed and involved. The visit to the Cathedral and the Chapel of San Guido, with the marvelous triptych of the Virgin of Montserrat from the 1400s, the spectacular and austere crypt supported by 98 columns, and the other iconic sites of the city were enriched by stories, details, and curiosities that left us wanting to return, this time with more time. A sincere thank you for your generosity, time, and dedication. It is thanks to people like them that a place becomes a precious memory. (Original) Una scoperta inaspettata: Acqui Terme e i suoi tesori.
(Translated by Google) The cathedral of Acqui is still a very beautiful building despite the various architectural alterations it has undergone over its almost thousand years of history. Of the original Romanesque construction, perhaps only the crypt and the later apses remain. Between the fifteenth and seventeenth centuries, it was considerably modified, both on the facade and inside. The crypt is worth seeing, with its 98 columns and some traces of ancient frescoes. The small Gothic cloister is less impressive, as is the beautiful bell tower. Inside, with three richly decorated naves, it preserves various works of art of a certain importance, but the real jewel is the triptych of the Madonna of Montserrat, the central part of which is the work of the great Bartolomé Bermejo, the greatest Spanish painter of the fifteenth century. To see it (it is in the sacristy) and to appreciate the explanations of the volunteer guide, a donation is appreciated. The rest dates from the 18th century, during the Baroque period. It consists of three naves decorated with stucco and frescoes from the 18th to the 19th centuries. We suggest an apero in swiming pool reserved Just for six people group. Too exclusive. Fantastic views of Acqui Terme city and grapes camps....d ont esitate, booking now....on winter season Is closed😊😊😊😊😊😊😊❤️
I agree with the comment that the place is lacking funding to recover its splendour. Also we stayed mid October and the place was very vacant and felt very lonely. In the positive, the breakfast was a feast.
The Villa was already closed when I arrived. But when I return to Acqui Terme in the future I definitely plan to visit the villa. I would recommend driving to Villa Ottolenghi for the amazing views of Acqui Terme!
We did a weekend tour and the guide was great however the Villa itself was tired and needed an injection of money and love to bring it up the standard I imagine it once was. The bones of the gardens are visible however it lacked recent care and attention.
Guides were very generous with their time - the visit lasted about 2 hours with wine tasting afterwards. It is in a beautiful setting and there are interesting decorative and historical details regarding the building and it's original owners.
The Monterosso complex in Acqui Terme is the only example in Italy of close collaboration between architects, painters, sculptors and patrons to create the creation of a manor house characterized by the presence of important works of art. In 1920 the Counts Ottolenghi, Arturo and Herta von Wedekind zu Horst entrusted the design of Villa Ottolenghi, first to Federico d'Amato and then to the famous architect Marcello Piacentini. The patronage of the Ottolenghi brought a good number of artists to Monterosso: Ferruccio Ferrazzi, Fortunato Depero, Adolfo Wildt, Libero Andreotti, Fiore Martelli, Arturo Martini, Rosario Murabito, Venanzo Crocetti and Ferruccio Ferrazzi. It was at Villa Ottolenghi that Arturo Martini produced and brought some of his most important works including "Il Tobiolo, Adamo ed Eva, the Lions of Monterosso ...". On the death of the Counts, it is the son Astolfo who undertakes to complete the villa with the park by Pietro Porcinai. Not far from the villa, the Mausoleum, today "Temple of Herta", and the park, obtained from a precise scenographic design which takes the name of "Earthly Paradise". The huge portal of the Temple, in bronze, nickel and engraved copper, a monumental work of the masters Ernesto and Mario Ferrari, is a prelude to the beauty of the frescoes by Ferruccio Ferrazzi, and of the mosaics made by the mosaic school of Ravenna. And then around the villa the formal Garden, the Well, the Studies, the Cisternone and the Promenade that runs along the perimeter of the complex, the Graffiti, the Wisteria Pergola, the Swimming Pool, the Cellar ... are stages of a path of discovery that surprises for the attention to detail and here and there wrought iron masterpieces emerge such as: mushrooms, turtles, birds, snails ... the swivel armchairs in marble and among all this emerge the sculptures of the artist Herta.
Amazing marble and even more amazing doors!! 🍾

An amazing view into the history of Acqui Terme and for 2€ to get a guided tour it is definetely worth visiting!
For some reason they put up a sign at the roman baths, that both the baths AND the civic museum are temporarily closed. Which apparently isn't true, but we discovered this long after we left Roman baths closed, fountain under reconstruction, thermal baths either temporarily closed or abandoned. This town really doesn't want tourists to visit In short: So thank you to whoever put up this sign for wasting a whole day

(Translated by Google) Ancient theater of Aquae Statiellae, dating back to the imperial era and brought to light at the end of the 90s of the last century, exploited the natural slope of the hill for the auditorium, facing the square below, where the scene must have been located, whose remains are now hidden under some modern buildings. Part of the steps intended for spectators were cut directly into the rocky bank of the hill, connected by access stairways of which some remains are still preserved. The building was supposed to create a monumental urban scenography with the ancient Bollente fountain and the spa system that stood next to it and exploited its waters.

(Translated by Google) Eighteenth-century church located on the outskirts of the historic center of Acqui Terme. There is ample parking outside (especially in the nearby barracks). Inside it looks like a church with interesting works of art (frescoes and altarpieces). It undoubtedly promotes concentration. Worth visiting.
(Translated by Google) The church was rebuilt between the first half of the 15th century and the beginning of the 16th century: the apse, the bell tower and the cloisters with octagonal columns and cubic capitals, of medieval tradition, remain from this phase. The current building is a neoclassical work carried out between 1835 and 1854 based on a design by the surveyor Ferraris. Inside the church, of notable interest are the paintings depicting the Adoration of the Magi (dating to the end of the 16th century and attributed to Raffael Angelo Soleri), the Immaculate Conception of Caccia Moncalvo (early 1600s); the Madonna and Child between Saint Francis and Saint Anthony of Padua (17th century) by Pietro Beccaria. Of value are a marble statue of the crowned Madonna with the child and the main altar; the frescoes on the vault are by the painter Ivaldi known as "il Muto".

(Translated by Google) A small public fountain from the Roman era located in a pit at least 3 meters below the current road surface of Corso Roma, almost opposite the large church of San Francesco. Unfortunately, this makes it difficult to see and appreciate. Found during some road excavations in the late 1980s, it is made up of several blocks of polished stone and a higher slab from which the water flowed. (Translated by Google) It is part of a larger archaeological excavation, but it is not so easily identifiable (at least following the directions on Google maps) because it is located below the road surface. It can't really be visited, you can see it from above, but it loses its charm and beauty: it's April and it was dirty with confetti! I would have imagined it more on a street corner, with a simulation or restoration of its ancient function of distributing water even to those who didn't have any at home.
