Absolutely beautiful garden. I was there in the summer so the grass was green, the sky was blue and the events were elegant. We had enough space to walk around, sit and enjoy the performances. Fantastic venue!!!! I just need a better outfit next time, a queen dress suits better that place :))))
The gardens are well maintained, even in winter. Unfortunately the palace wasn’t open so we couldn’t visit the inside. The gardens are free to visit.
Lovely gardens and pretty building. Shame the palace is closed and has been for years. Many special events throughout the year. Visited for a food and wine festival with staff dressed up in period costumes. Free entry.
The palace is closed for the visitors but the park is outstanding. Sculptures, fountains, trees and flowers worth to see. If you need a break for relax that is the place. Not crowded and no tickets.
Called into the office but was told that the Palace has been CLOSED for renovations for some time and they have no idea when it will reopen! Apparently they have tried to amend the opening times on Google maps but without success! Although the building was out of bounds I was told I could look around the gardens. The gardens are certainly worth a look.
Beautiful palace and garden BUT IT IS CLOSED FOR CONSTRUCTION. Aug 2022. They have no idea when it is going to be reopened. No information on the website that it was closed...You can still visit the gardens which are very nice. Especially the Poet Cascade. Park just outside the palace is also worth a quick visit
It is worth a visit in 2 years. Due to works in the Palace itself, it is not opened to vistors but the gardens. Nice place Oeiras to spend the whole day with a visit and a lunch.
Such an amazing place. The palace itself was half closed for some kind of event so they made our entrance free if charge. The gardens and statues are amazing. In great condition but not too polished.

Amazing place for everybody. Familys with kids will love it
A very nice place for outdoor activities.
Absolutely beautiful park, so green and wonderful for a walk, but let’s get back to basics here. Any place for people to sit? Seats in the playground is almost a competition to get, then in the park itself around every 500 meters they have one. Really??? I have not even spotted ONE place to buy a bottle of water!!!!! This is a goldmine and the municipality can make so much money if they rented space to those selling food and drinks, why not??? Feel sorry for those playing sports and can’t even sit down and have a drink! I left rather thirsty! Tips for those coming: - bring food and water (nowhere to buy) - bring your own seat (very hard to find!)
I go here since I was 2 years old. it's a calm (but not too much calm) place. there are places to be more relaxed, it's spaceous, or you can run or cycle there. there are also good hockey and football fields, open to the public. it's a good place to all ages to be active
Great spot to workout or just take a walk and enjoy the nature!
Very nice place to bring the kids. Bring warm clothes if you stay late afternoon as most of the time the wind picks up from the North.
I love this place! A lot of free activities! A excellent place to lunch and play with children's!
Great place to bring young kids. The playground could be a bit better well kept.

Amazing place with a history. Don't forget to take a bread to feed ducks and fish.
It is a cool place with lots of potential. However one can clearly see how under developed it is. I wish Oeiras would invest a bit more in this park so people could use it more. There are a nice restaurant and bar in the area. Watched a great show there another time.
A pleasant place to spend a day off. Authentic buildings of an old factory, extensive green area, many private corners and children's playgrounds
It's so well preserved. There's a bunch of places to eat and kid's playground as well. Great place for a lovely afternoon. You can find ducks and cats wandering around as well!!
The powder factory is a park and one of the largest cultural centers of Oeiras. A very attractive space with its exhibitions and places to relax. Fábrica da Pólvora has been turned into a cultural center. Inside we can find a museum, an art gallery, a restaurant, a bar with live music, gardens and places prepared for outdoor performances.
Great place with restaurants outside with the most beautiful views /greenery. Having a restaurant/coffee shop close to the play area would increase profit, or by putting a small play area for kids next to the restaurants. Watching your kids play while you having a coffee, would be amazing and this place has the potential and space for this…. I have to add that the directions are absolute horrendous! Some boards are showing you that some things Are downstairs with an arrow pointing South, but there is nothing under the ground! There are giving names to certain areas which has absolutely no meaning to a newbie on the spot other than the owner or employees.
Nice park to go relax, see the old gunpowder factory and enjoy the outside. Excellent place for drinks and relaxing with friends or for the kids to play. Clean bathrooms. There is also a museum, but it was not open when we visited, so have no opinion on it.
Interesting place, but dissapointing. Seems to be set up as a learning center for students. However, grounds are free to walk around in, good restaurants and the area is pretty. Been bqck recently to eat at a local restaurant nearby. Nothings has changed. There is however the interesting story of the blackpouder factory which is interesting. Unfortunately, the buildings themselves are closed.

Beautiful park, lots of trees and shade on hot day, bulidings are in need of restauration, and there is ongoing work to restore them to its former beauty. To be frank, I like it the way they are. it seems more real to me. I believe it is possible to get from this park all the way up to Fabrica Polvora. I will try it next time.
Very pretty and hugeee park! Feels like a fairytale to walk through.
We were there for the Somersby OutJazz festival. And it was a very nice and relaxing experience. Not too crowded, and a chill experience.
It's such a hidden gem, quiet, seldom any people in it, very artistic design of the garden and my child loved play hide and seak through those bushes. Climb up the Palace is a great fun too. Lovely place to spend the afternoon.
Nice garden with shaded parts, sculpted segments and bits going wild. Interesting levels and ornaments
After renewal works in progress, it will be great. Now it is a good place to take walk, dogs 🐕 are allowed.
Amazing and mysterious place which is not spotted by too many people.
The park is dog friendly, however when you are close to the estate, dogs are not allowed. Walk up to the top and u will see the beautiful sea view 😊

Great place to enjoy a drink or food (or both!) By the water. parking is pretty cheap, and the food choices were awesome! I enjoyed a Tango (beer with gooseberry flavor added), and a bacon cheeseburger. Both delicious! There is an oceanside pool, and a fitness area with various workout equipment, & I saw a film crew of some sort filming just off the beach side at Praia da torre. (I wonder what they were filming 🤔) Lovely place, the atmosphere was perfect.
Good for families, to start your run, to meet with friends, just for coffee or for a great dinner or lunch. Very lively and with diverse options of drinks, food
Beautiful marina, great restaurants, gorgeous clean walking or running path along the sea. Paid parking lots available.
Lovely place with good restaurants and a public toilet. Nice atmosphere in general. Good for a coffee break or lunch. Nice views included.
A great marina. Very well run. Pleasent and helpful staff. Great location. Nice restaurants within walking distance. Local train to Cascais and Lisboa. Enough shelter for the boat.
Great views and amazing food options
Imagine a marina at sunset, where the sky transforms into a canvas of vibrant oranges and pinks, casting a warm glow over the water and creating a breathtaking backdrop for a romantic evening stroll.
A lovely place to walk to from Carcavelos. Plenty of restaurants/cafes to choose from and great views across to the 25 de Abril Bridge in Lisbon.

Great space for birthdays and to take children on hot and sunny days
I attended a small concert here, I have very good memories of it. This place remains a little-known treasure.
It is a quiet green “island” in the middle of a fairly ugly 60/70s neighbourhood, with free entrance. With lower space that creates a small square like area that seems to have been though in order to accommodate events, where there is enough paved are for kids to take their small bikes and enjoy them at fullest safely. The higher plateaus had a fairly big green stretch of grass framed by not some cypress tress and the main building. The architecture will probably never make any jaw drop but it is fitting while sheltering some intimate concerts at times. Also here you cab find the only kid’s playground in this area which is pretty nice and also not crowded. A café is expecting to open for service anytime soon and probably will be a good place to rest the laptop and pretend to work :P
nice park in the middle of buildings.good for kids with playgroi d
Such an awesome place very therapeutic and beautiful
Lovely small and cozy palace with interesting corners
Really quiet place. Great to read a book and relax.
Nothing much to see, but it is nice for a quick visit.

Calm place to relax in the Algés Center. There is a coffee shop and a small museum with cute temporary exhibitions. Sometimes you can see retired old men playing cards.
A beautiful exposition hall and a beautifully curated exposition on the theme "Free"(-dom) by João Abel Manta. Definitely recommend a visit in the beautiful blue "Angel Palace", located in a lovely park with nice café. Obrigada!
Excellent choice of exhibitions, art and literature intertwined. Very friendly staff and very well organised, with extra effort during the pandemic. Free entrance in the museum for top rated exhibitions - who could ask for more? I definitely recommend it! Keep up the great work!
Absolutely superb, it’s free, it’s a lovely building, great art space, very friendly staff. How you can give less than 5* when joy can see lots of Picasso’s for nothing and with no crowds! Treat ourself to a love;y lunch in the cafe outside that was excellent value and quality.
I visited here during the exposition Musex, a traveling(?) museum exhibit about female sexual pleasure and health. This is a very important topic as many women and almost all men have no idea what goes on with the female body. So, we went. I was infuriated at their handling of this topic. There was only one piece of art that did a good job of showing something useful. Literally everything else was so far into the realm of abstract art that any ordinary human who hasn't taken six years of classes about how to understand art will be able to understand any of it. Complete waste of everyone's time except those select few artfully minded people who can somehow understand the meaning.
Great art exhibitions in a very nice building, sorounded by a garden.
An interesting exhibition with the possibility of having a guide that explains the art pieces displayed. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Great green space to chill. Interesting Art Gallery. Not a museum as many people usually think.

Forte de São Bruno - the worn stone walls and open gate, bathed in sunlight, invite you to explore the quiet history within. A peaceful spot where the past meets the present under a clear blue sky.
Could have been a beautiful place but closed due to uneducated people pissing and doing all kinds of horrible things inside this beautiful old fort that is by the water. Once you enter it is full of bad smell from the urine of mostly teenagers who spend their idle time here and dirty and disrespect the place. What a shame! Otherwise this place is such a gem! I think the local government has no funds to put/hire someone to guard this old fort.
People were swimming despite medusas on the beach. External showers, but no public toilets. Otherwise an OK beach
Historic Forte from 1647... Sadly was closed for public. You can't stand at the entrance of the fort as stench of piss is unbearable.
Lovely little fortress built in 1647, right at the beach, overlooking the water. It has thick, plastered brick walls. The only action the fortress ever saw, though, was being used as a target for cannon shooting practice by a local governor in the 1700s. Surprisingly, the fortress is mostly intact, although it badly needs restoration.
The Fort is quite beautiful specially at sunset but the beach has probably the worst type of people in it. Low-level, poorly educated, rude, loud and ill-manered neighbours is what you get. Brace yourself for some tong-lashing if you bother to ask them to keep quiet or put the music down. We actually saw a family watching their dog do its poo in the water and when I approached to say that he needed to pick it up, he said and I quote "it's wet, I can't pick it up"... We simply left.
A rather small old fort at the water front of Caxias. Not really worth a visit unless you are really into such historic sites of naval warfare, when you have the Belem Tower just a few miles to the east
So sad to see this in disrepair. I stayed here when it was a very cool hostel on the beach in 1980. Awesome 19th birthday here with kids from everywhere.

Santo Amaro Beach is quite big, with fine sand. The water is usually safe to swim in, but watch for the flags at the beach that inform about the safety. The beach has lifeguards, of which I observed they're alert and responsive. Surprisingly, the police don't patrol amongst the (sometimes) thousands of people at the beach, but this seems to be the case on all Portuguese beaches in the Lisbon and Setúbal region that I visited. At Santa Amaro Beach, the police are present, but they stay across the vehicle road next to the beach. Perhaps it's a union thing. At the side of the pedestrian/cyclist road parallel to the beach are signs with information about the beach, including explanations about the flags. The beach also offers free toilets and fresh water showers. On the beach, you'll find separate trash containers for plastics, glass, et cetera. All in all, it's very well maintained by the municipality of Oeiral. And really, it better be because without the beach, it is sage to say wouldn't be in the top ten of most rich municipalities in Portugal.
Beautiful beach!! Mostly crowded by local residents and families. It felt very cozy. In the afternoon, the waves were really big. It was hard to swim. Very easy to reach by train.
This is the correct spot for the Praia de Santo Amaro. There seems to be a 2nd address in Google which is incorrect. The beach is clean although it's quite windy. It has a kid's playground and people usually come here to play volleyball. Easily accessible if you take the train. No bathrooms available
It was fun. It was during the week so the crowds were low. The water was definitely cold being the Atlantic but the area we sat had a water playground out from shore a short swim away. I’m sure they have a name but I cannot think of what it would be.
Beautiful quite beach lots of people going on jogs the place is very beautiful nice for quite walk on the beach barely anyone around really clean as well.
You can get here very conveniently by taking the train; it takes about half an hour. Definitely worth a visit when the weather is moderately warm.
Very nice beach, lost of people in the afternoon but still has space. Restaurant, WC, area for people with disabilities protected by lifeguards.
Portugal has great beaches! There were showers and all!

This was a fantastic beach for holidaying, with amazing views across the coastline of Lisbon and its buildings! These are also offered across to the other side of the water and the beach is expansive, encompassing rocks too in its length. Many spots to swim and the sunbeds are top notch, especially with the umbrellas! Palm trees are plentiful and a mock castle is such a beautiful feature, bar is nice at the side too where we enjoyed a few pints.
Went there 3rd week of June. During the day the water was chill a bit, yet we enjoyed our swim there. After 6, it was completely frozen. So be careful with the timing. There were still places to sit and it was not overwhelmingly crowded in the right part of the beach. From Lisboa, it is very nearby. Super convenient and affordable if you would like to visit.
I'm giving 2 stars because this beach has 3 "sections", although this beach is nice you will find a lot of people in there and you also will find dirty water on the the left side and the middle side, because both are really small. Could be better! The water is cold as normal, and there is no toilet. Maybe it is nice on weekdays.
It was nice to hang out. The water was nice. There was a public shower and changing room. The beach is just next to the train station.
Huge beach! Water is obviously quite cold but it was a very good beach day since it was hot anyways! I also really enjoyed these little desserts they go through and sell to you! They also only cost 2€. We bought an umbrella nearby for only 15€ as well.
a peaceful place near lisbon city, only 4 stops from lisbon by train. nothing special but good to play water and enjoy the sunshine!D M m 4 more VD!
Pleasant simple beach nearby city center of Lisbon. Good road along the way and nice view. There is a bar and some decent area with sun beds and umbrella. I find this beach very clean and ideal as there is not a lot of people.

This beach was cute, a little nook tucked between some rocks, a marina, and an old national guard fort. I wanted to rent a surfboard after seeing how much fun everyone was having out there surfing. But alas settled for a relaxing sit and stroll along the water edge. I did, however, see one jellyfish that had washed ashore, so always be cautious of that potential.!!
Praia da Torre is a small but charming beach located in Oeiras, close to Lisbon. It is known for its calm waters, golden sand and a relaxed atmosphere that makes it popular among families and locals. The beach is framed by the Torre de São Julião da Barra, a historic fortress that gives it a unique and picturesque backdrop. It is easily accessible and offers good facilities, including nearby cafés and restaurants, making it convenient for spending a few hours by the sea. The water is generally calm, which makes it suitable for swimming and enjoying a peaceful day at the beach.
A stunning beach that includes numerous restaurants and a huge marina. Truly impressive! We can walk for more than 5 km along the shoreline along the boulevard.
Beautiful and clean beach with bars, toilette, showers, sunbeds rental possibilities. At the end of June the ocean was so cold...
Looking for a quick beach getaway from Lisbon on less than 30 mins by train? Then this is your spot! This is one of the closest to Lisbon... enough for some sun worshipping and swimming when it's warm out. It is much less touristy than Cascais and the other beaches out west.. but that also means less commercial options like restaurants, shops and such... Which is fine by me! The beach on the left side of the Torre is bigger than the one on the right. And there are definitely less crowds on the tower's right side... Often locals! Enjoy the Lisbon sun!
Very nice beach to spend time with your family :) kids friendly and it has showers change rooms etc. plenty of parking available around
Very good place to chill with friends and enjoy a beach afternoon - you can also stay past sunset and enjoy the moon rising 🌙
