We came specifically for The Simpsons exhibition, and were glad we did! It's a very good space, well cared for and maintained. Friendly staff and reasonable ticket prices.
It's a unique museum in Austria, worth a visit if one is interested in the topic. A bit expensive and not so big, it still needs more descriptions (especially in English). One floor is dedicated to the iconic caricatures of Manfred Deix (in German language), while the other floor offers changing exhibitions. I got to see the "Here comes Bart" Simpsons exhibit, with lots of hand-drawn originals from the first seasons. Good museum for children!
We drove here from Vienna just to see the Simpsons exhibit and we were not disappointed! Although it’s just two rooms, there is lots to see and some fun interactive bits! There is also an area where kids can learn to make their own cartoon/stop motion videos. We will definitely come back again soon!
Great museum, keeps amazing us since it was founded 😍 Inspiring contents and artists, even artists in residence which is rare. Topics are Austrian Caricaturists and Artists, there is always a different focus and angle on an artist's life and work. And you can always learn something new and get to know a new artist, which is impressive even if you think you're well immersed in the scene already. Their museum shop is amazing as well, great things and even real hand-signed limited prints amongst other things. Very affordable as well, 12 euros per adult without reduction and many options to get a reduced price or combined tickets with the other museums in Krems. Staff is gorgeously nice, taking photos without flash is even encouraged. Even the toilets are nice, we have nothing negative to say about the Karikaturmuseum Krems even if we tried.
This is really an interesting and unique museum in Austria, almost fully dedicated to political satire cartoons from local artists, both contemporary and historical. I do enjoy every bit during my visit. Plus, the staff is very helpful and friendly!
There’s really not much to see. €12 for two rooms with some boring caricatures and a small Simpsons-themed section feels way overpriced. The whole atmosphere was tense because a security guard kept following me around like I was doing something wrong. One star just for the Simpsons (though I have no idea why they’re even there). The rest is off because I felt really uncomfortable the entire time because of the guard.
Interesting landmark and good exposition inside. This is very nice cultural place to visit. It has all the classics and modern pieces and gives a good presentation of the caricature art. Though if you are not to it, then it could be boring inside. They have affordable prices for tickets including family plans.
Great place to visit, there is a room for kids. Relax atmosphere!

Amazing tour! We called ahead to ask about tours in English and even though the person there for the day could not speak English they were able to get a guide who could and we ended up with a private tour. It was interesting to learn about the cooperative, the different types of wines they make and the Austrian wine industry in general. The wines were also wonderful and I definitely plan to keep an eye out for them when I go home! (I wish wine bottles were more easily taken in suitcases) I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area and make sure to call ahead of you want a tour in English.
Really nice and well organized vineyard and winery tour. Interesting presentation and you get to taste some very nice Austrian wines. The premium Riesling is excellent.
Fabulous wine tastings and very high tech educational format--3D movie, holograms, and a very cool floor map that lites up as it tells the story. Very impressive! Great guide too!
One of the best wine tour guide even for foreigner and great course in the Europe. Wonderful wine especially for all of white wine.
Super basic wine tour in super detail explaining the most basic facts about wine, whilst at the same time doing everything in both german and English, making the tour waaay too long. Also a lot of interactive stuff that was just in german, so didn’t get anything out of that. For such a steep price, only getting 3 glasses of wine, and also spending +30 minutes on the tour not being able to understand anything, i would not recommend this to anyone who does not speak german or have any prior insight into wine making!
We did the tour today with our 2 children from 11 and 12 years old. They liked it as much as we did. It was a fun and interacting tour with a 4D movie. We tasted 3 wines and the children tasted 2 kinds of grape juices. Small advice to the organization: everything was in German so maybe it could be interesting to provide a better experience to international tourists/visitors if some parts would be translated in English.
A great tour from a great tour guide! Fred was fantastic and have a lot of information on wine making in the local context. And he was funny!
Overall fine, but don’t really have the full experience in English even though they said that it would be. And it would have been better to hear more detailed about their wines (rather than general info)

Nice, clean, good atmosphere, very strong coffee…
I am pleased to notice a progressive attitude towards new ideas. I still feel there is room to incorporate a showcase to promote Krems/Stein, especially regarding local art, fashion and history of the wonderful buildings, architecture.
Very nice and historical building.
Small shopping center,but have everything!
My teenage daughter got a great hair cut by nice and caring people at the Hair Fair in this shopping center. Thank you!
Standard (not big and not small) shopping centre is with different kinds of shops (dress, accessories, food) cafe, hairdressing salon and enough big parking with normal price.
Cool place. Few things to do if you are waiting for someone or just want to do shopping or eat food

An absolutely beautiful museum that exceeded my expectations. The architecture itself is stunning, and the exhibits are thoughtfully curated with a mix of contemporary and classical art. The atmosphere is calm and inspiring, making it a perfect spot for art lovers to spend a peaceful few hours. Definitely a must-visit when in Krems it captures the region’s creative spirit beautifully.
Nice modern art museum, good exhibitions and well informed audio guides. It will be extended with a new building by 2018 so it will be more interesting then.
I went to see the The New African Portraiture exhibit and found the Kunsthalle to really be a world class exhibition space. I was surprised that a collection of that caliber would in a small town outside of Vienna but it was a wonderful surprise! The artwork was absolutely wonderful. The Kunsthalle itself is well-designed and large. I will certainly stay in touch and return in the future!
Interesting neo-modern museum in the middle of a medieval town. Worth visiting
Great place! The security and cashier were very friendly and helpful. Not like the others museums near by. We enjoyed the visit.
Nice and quiet. Today it was on sale, only one euro per person!

One of the finest late Gothic churches in Austria, built at a dominating position above the town. The baroque altars cannot hide the beauty of the Gothic architecture, with intricately formed columns and a beautifully organised rib structure in the vault.
Nice place in the heart of town. Due to the small winding alleys it is very hard to get up here and enjoy the view. Still worth a try though.

The secularised former church of a Dominican monastery has suffered a lot in the past but whatever survived of this great work of art has been restored and provides some insight into the way those monks built a huge church in the 13th and 14th century. It's all bare stone now, sturdy columns, soaring walls and wide vaults, without any furnishings - just the architecture. Make sure to have a good guide, human or printed, to explain everything to you.

(Translated by Google) Unfortunately, it was always the case at the time of our visit on March 28, 2022 There was also the severe drought that had been going on for weeks and so the entire hiking trail looked more like a steppe landscape and there wasn't much left of the splendor of flowers that can be seen in some of the pictures. The path, which mostly leads through vineyards, is very well signposted and at the highest point offers a good panoramic view of Göttweig Abbey or Krems and the Danube. Unfortunately, there are far too few seats and you shouldn't "plan" to go to the toilet, as there is no possibility of doing so along the entire hiking trail. The only inn was closed due to illness. A little tip for drivers: At the end of Angern in the direction of Krems, before a left-hand bend, there is a small road that turns sharply to the right, where you come to a football field where, according to information from the inn, you can park legally. From there it is just under 5 minutes to the start of the hiking trail. Will probably come back again when the apricots are ripe, the weather is good and the landscape is hopefully really green.

Otherwise a nice tour, best when it is in bloom in early to mid-April.
(Translated by Google) Very nice path, but at the beginning it is a bit sparsely signposted (take a photo of the route beforehand and then it won't be a problem). Unfortunately, the apricot experience wasn't that great in February, but you can't blame anyone for that. Definitely worth a relaxing trip. Attention: there are effectively no parking options, especially at the start, unless you somehow want to squeeze onto the side of the road or park in a hotel parking lot.

(Translated by Google) Great museum for motorcycle enthusiasts, some rarities and the museum director is a mechanic himself and knows his stuff well. Take a few euros with you because the museum is financed exclusively by donations. However, you have to arrange a test beforehand, which worked perfectly for us. Also viel Spaß

A great museum and a surprise of Rodans "Eve".
The museum tickets were too expensive for that quality of exhibits. Most of the exhibits are modern art ones, and that was really upsetting. However, some of room were interesting to see. Goob, but overpriced place
In the center of Krems, next to the popular pedestrian zone in the historic old town - part of the World Heritage Wachau - is the former Dominican monastery on the grain market. Today, the museum krems displays its extensive collections here - in the monumental, impressive complex around the baroque inner courtyard . In 2012, part of the show collection was reorganized. It does not often happen that the name of a city is linked to a culinary product far beyond the region. Krems on the Danube connect gourmets with "Kremser wine" and with " Kremser mustard ". The landlady Ulli Amon - Jell has dealt with the "Kremser mustard" for the museum krems culinary and reveals where she personally gives him the most. Of course, the museum krems also reveals some of the secrets of sweet Kremser mustard, how it is produced and what makes its popular and special taste. Even if the original recipes are well-kept secrets. Rarities from the collection Peter Hietzgern tell of the mustard production and the "real Kremser mustard" from Krems. Objects from the Mautner Markhof collection prove that the "Original Kremser Mustard" is valued and demanded not only in Europe, but also in the USA, Australia and South Africa: "Original Kremser Mustard" from Mautner - Markhof becomes equally how the "Kremser wine" is exported worldwide. A representative selection from the collection of Wachaugemälden was compiled by Christian Thiery of the Schlosshotel Dürnstein. After a long time, all three self-portraits of the Baroque painter Martin Johann Schmidt, called Kremser Schmidt , are shown from the museum's holdings. And the writer Josef Haslinger has explained his very personal approach to the museum krems. The oldest female representation in Austria , the second oldest in the world, called "Fanny vom Galgenberg", was found on Krems soil. On the Ried Altenburg in Krems - Stein and on the Kremser Wachtberg, the Slavs settled and traded with the Romans along the Limes, especially in Mautern. Life on the Danube brought wealthy merchants to Krems, whose heirs handed over valuable rarities to the museum. The museum krems presents selected objects to live with the current and other treasures such as the insignia of the oldest to this day active Hauerzeche Central Europe. The economic importance of Krems since the Middle Ages also highlights that here is the first babenbergische coin, called "Kremser Pfennig" was minted in Austria. There are also selected archaeological finds and rarities. Special exhibitions of contemporary artists in the former dormitory rooms of the monks on the upper floor - today " Modern Gallery in the Dominican Monastery" - enrich the museum year, whereby the rooms themselves are remarkable: they provide a unique view of the city center of Krems and thus into hidden insights into the World Heritage Wachau. In addition, since 2012, the Kremserinnen and Kremsern have been exhibiting works in the library gallery on the first floor of the monastery. This gallery of the museum krems is open all year round and can be visited free of charge as part of the city library at the Körnermarkt, right next to the museum.
Excellent 'little' museum that manages to feel quite large. The cellars are a highlight.
Nice historical place centrally located
