Museum
Event venue
The Ars Electronica Center, also known as the Museum of the Future, is a landmark building in Linz, Austria. Established in 1996 and relocated to its current futuristic location on the Danube in 2009, it offers technology-based exhibitions that showcase the city's role as a hub for technology, media, industry, and art. Visitors can explore one-of-a-kind exhibits related to science and technology, including displays on climate change, space exploration, biotechnology, and robotics.
Amazing, inspiring, huge. It’s hard to describe the diversity and breadth of what you can see at the festival.
Szymek D — Google review
This museum might be engaging for children under 10, but for others, it’s one of the most boring and disappointing museums I’ve visited in a long time. I entered with high expectations but was let down within seconds of seeing the exhibition. There’s little of interesting things, most of the time, I wasn’t even sure why I was there. The museum consists mainly of a few screens and wall texts, with at least half of the artifacts not functioning. They could easily create a website, copy-paste the texts, and post the few videos there instead. Overall, the museum feels undefined and empty. Here, you’ll only find what feels like random Wikipedia articles.
Jure F — Google review
Your enjoyment of this museum will likely depend on your interests. This museum goes pretty technical and fairly in-depth about all the available topics so if you aren’t particularly interested in them you might find the museum boring. The first exhibition didn’t suite my interests so I wasn’t interested but the AI part I found very interesting because AI is interesting to me.
Goodguy L — Google review
Located near the banks of a river with a beautiful view. Have a bus stop right in front of it. If while waiting for the bus for a long time with luggage one wants to visit this, no issue. There is locker facility to hold the luggage with lock and key arrangement. Special price on shows for senior citizens. Displays are not that great and informative. Not muchattractive for visitors. Children have some exclusive area for learning and fun.
Karthikeyan K — Google review
Some interesting exhibits especially the quite nerdy section on AI which goes into surprising detail and has some good demos showing how neural nets work. Just beware the 'deep space' show is nothing to do with the universe and more just a kalaidoscope projected onto the floor.
James F — Google review
Absolutely disappointing. There is nothing specific, mostly screens and texts. Better to go to the cinema for the good picture on the screen. I think it was the worst museum I have ever visited. Maybe it is fine for the children though.
Lazzabuda L — Google review
The Ars Electronica Center is a captivating fusion of art and technology. With its interactive exhibits and immersive displays, it offers a thrilling exploration of the digital frontier. A visit to this museum is an inspiring journey into the boundless possibilities of the modern age.

Pöstlingberg

Mountain peak
Pöstlingberg, a 539-meter high hill above Linz, offers a unique experience for visitors. Accessible by historic trams in the summer and modern trams year-round, the journey to the top takes about 20 minutes. Atop Pöstlingberg, there's a historic church and an observation deck providing panoramic views of Linz. The area is also known for its picturesque uphill tram ride and opportunities to spot deer in nature.
A fun, steep tram ride with fantastic views at the top over the city. Don't follow the Google Map pin for Postlingbergbahn - it looks like it only goes from the stop over the river, but it actually goes from the main square, Hauptplatz. The tram is scheduled every half an hour, which is just long enough at the top to take some pictures, follow the circular path and take a look at the church. Very handy attraction for a reasonable price
Seiriol D — Google review
A unique tram station and also a heritage tram ride. It goes up to an elevation of 560m hill of Postlinberg hill with a steep track and very narrow track. From here you can enjoy the view of Linz city.
Shaikh S — Google review
We had a night halt in Linz during our river cruise. The Postlingberg is a 539 (1760 ft) high hill on the left bank of the Danube in city of Linz. It is a very popular tourist attraction, with a viewing platform over the city, and is the site of the Postlingberg pilgrimage church, and the Linz Grottenbahn. One can reach here from city square by line 50 of the Linz tramways, running over the Postlingbergbahn mountain tramway. It costs 10 euro for return trip, and it takes 20 minutes each way. It runs every 30 minutes. The ride both ways was very pleasant and scenic. The view from top is great of entire town, countryside and Danube. There was a restaurant, cafes, a church and a theater. There was also a zoo on the midway. A nice place for families and photo opportunities !!
Balkrishna S — Google review
We visited Pöstlingberg with our child and had a great time. The highlights were interacting with the deer, riding the Grottenbahn toy train, and exploring the miniature houses—all of which our child loved. The place is scenic, peaceful, and very family-friendly. We spent about 3 hours there, which was perfect for a relaxed visit. Highly recommended for families looking for a fun and easy outing in Linz!
Tejus U — Google review
Great views from up here and a very nice cafe with a lot of yummy cake, including the famous Linzer torte.
Chris L — Google review
Pöstlingberg is a great way to spend a day in nature, in Linz, with a pretty good chance to see deer grazing. There are also some great panoramic views of the city, weather permitting. No matter the weather, there are cool restaurants and places to walk around and take in the sights and fresh air.
Bob W — Google review
Cool tram ride, great view from the hill and a great walk on the hill with the kids. They loved the playground area and the space up there. A thing to do in Linz on a Sunday.
Nikolina K — Google review
Perfect place for weekend wandering(you can get here also with a tram, which is the steepest, or one of most steep railways in Europe). Observation deck with a view on Linz, if weather is nice and air is clear, at the horizon you can see Alps.

Specialty Museums
Schlossmuseum Linz is a glass-and-steel museum located at Linz Castle, offering a captivating display of Upper Austrian culture, art, nature, and technology. The castle itself has a rich history dating back to the 9th century and now houses the excellent Schlossmuseum. Visitors can explore valuable collections of art and history, including ancient, Roman, and medieval artifacts such as paintings, sculptures, weapons, and armor.
The museum and the exhibits and quite well maintained. The ticket was 6.5 euros and they gave multiple exhibits, we really liked the nature one. It's a good place to come with kids since they have a lot of activities for them.
Ana F — Google review
Larger museum than I expected, particularly given the affordable ticket price. They have insects, coins, traditional crafts, nativity, science, garments... basically everything goes. The new glass building was english-friendly, the larger traditional castle was a hit and miss. Pity that they didn't fully translate, because their most unique artefacts are in the castle and I couldn't tell what I was looking at. The staff doesn't speak much English. I didn't like that they kicked out visitors way ahead of closing times. I also found the museum challenging to navigate. Overall, the collections are of international interest but the management isn't at that level.
Philippe — Google review
Beautiful museum on top of a small hill with lots of very interesting exhibits. Tickets were also very cheap, only 6.5 euros for adults and 3 euros for students. Really worth the money with the quality of the exhibits. There is also a very interesting cave lift entrance for people who don't want to climb the hill to access the main entrance.
Wong X — Google review
A really interesting museum. Worth visiting for different age. A bit funny combination of objects under display though. Amusing) There's a restaurant too.
Алена М — Google review
This one of the best museum. Perfect for all ages.
Alexander L — Google review
It was an interesting museum with many different areas. The levels of English varied greatly between areas, but most were understandable. They have an extensive collection of ecclesiastical objects, a science gallery and other special areas, including modern art. As it seems an add-on, I would not come here for the science area.
Chris S — Google review
Nice experience. Good place to loose some time and relax through the exhibits.
Buglea L — Google review
We were quite disappointed that there was nothing labeled in English. We were told that English tour reservations must be done at least 2 weeks in advance. Inside the museum, everything was in German so we didn't really know what we were seeing, except for the technology section where there is a funny robot who can give you a little explanation of some of the items.

Linz Botanical Garden, located on the eastern slopes of the Freinberg just a short walk from the city center, is a stunning attraction boasting over 10,000 plant species spread across beautiful flowerbeds and five greenhouses. The garden features rare wild plants, cacti, orchids, and a superb Rosarium. It also hosts open-air summer concerts and readings on its stage amidst nature.
Amazing place to visit. I did not expected such a nice and big place. Will be back for sure.
Hugo C — Google review
Lovely place for a walk around on a nice day. Saw it all in an 1 hour, then had a lovely coffee and cake in the cafe. Entry cost and cafe were quite good value. Quite a steep walk up to the gardens though
David U — Google review
Nice enough for a quick stroll, but nothing particularly special. Decent variety of plants, but overall pretty average
Mai A — Google review
A lovely botanical garden to visit. They do have a cafe, although it was fully booked on a Wednesday even though it was nearly empty. We didn't see anyone go in while we had our takeaway coffee either, maybe they all came later
Tom ( — Google review
Perfect place for relaxation and observing flora close to the stadium.
Zoltán B — Google review
A beautiful, small, but very cozy Botanical Garden. There are many places on the territory where you can sit and listen to birdsong. The greenhouse has magnificent orchids and a collection of cacti! There is a cafe on site.
Maria G — Google review
Well maintained botanical garden. The entry fee is less than 4 euro. The place is easily reachable by public transport. I enjoyed strolling around. There is nice restaurant which offers great food and coffee. I spent an entite day here, clicked many pictures of beautiful flowers. It’s a great spot for photography enthusiasts. Would definitely recommend.
Akshaya G — Google review
I'm not the biggest fan of flowers but this was an experience that has changed my mind about botanical gardens and I will try to visit as many as I can from on. Entry price is very low at about three euro and you can easily spend about three hours exploring all the gardens.

Grottenbahn

Mentioned on
8 lists
Grottenbahn is a unique and nostalgic underground train ride in Linz, Austria that takes you through the Land of Dwarves, featuring evil dwarves, taxidermied animals, and dragons. The electric dragon-shaped train offers a whimsical journey through scenes from fairytales, making it an ideal activity for families with children. After the ride, visitors can explore miniature exhibitions of famous fairytales in a model town.
It was a very nice, entertaining activity to do with children of all ages. My small one was absolutely fascinated. I think we need to visit again and again until he can figure everything out.
Karina A — Google review
Awful management. For my daughter's birthday, we spent the €171 for the event. However, the management ruined the experience of our guest's mothers by sending them away from the venue into extremely bad weather. The unempathetic manager also did this in an extremely rude manner that left everyone, including other waiting guests, in shock. The attraction itself is quaint and fun, brilliant for birthdays. The party host was fantastic, and the kids loved meeting Sebastian the dragon.
Ed — Google review
Great place to pass by with children. Train who turn around few times with different light and perspective is a great idea ! Then fairytales in miniature city - even that surprised adult like me and I enjoy the visit like a kid. Best attraction in this area ! If you with family this is must visit place
Kamil N — Google review
An interesting adventure for families with children of any age. And the lovers were riding behind us in the train - it was obviously a date ;) The train carries three circles, you can have time to look at all the figures. And then take a walk around the “town” with scenes from the most famous fairy tales.
Maria G — Google review
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Grottenbahn. The train ride was fun, and I was very appreciative that it went around 3 times so you could see everything. However, for me, it still wasn't enough times to see all the details I would have liked to see. I did love the second part of the experience where they have the miniature town square and different fairy tales. I would highly recommend this, especially for families with children.
Shawna F — Google review
It’s ok to visit with small kids max 6/7 years old. Small train makes 3 or 4 rounds in small magical cave filled with elf’s. On the floor below you’ll find a small fairy tale city with themed corners. Overall it’s worth the trip up the hill for a magnificent view of Linz
3 G — Google review
We went to the imagenary world of Dwarfs and fairy tails by tram, uphill about 519 meters above the old town at Linz. It was a nice tril with wonder view along the way. At the Dwarfs World bought tickets to see their imagenary world. Fun for family and adults too.

The cathedral's exterior features an array of pinnacles, flying buttresses, and intricate stained glass windows.
One of the best cathedrals I have visited. The interior is very pretty, impressive. Beautiful stained glasses. I am glad I have made a stop in Linz. It is also free entry.
Changg C — Google review
Not as old as you’d expect but equally as beautiful. Love the modern interpretation with the replacement stained glass windows destroy during WW2. It’s an interesting space inside and definitely worth walking around and taking in the views. There’s a lovely cafe attached to the side. Free entry.
Gustav — Google review
We climbed up to the top panorama floor of 630 steps. Only guided tour available, book in advance. Offered at some certain hours of certain days (weekends). The dom itself is huge and very nice inside.
Zoltán B — Google review
One of the largest cathedrals in the world. Since it was not allowed to be taller than St. Stephens in Vienna, its about 2 m shorter. There are a couple exhibits that show the building materials. The stained glass windows are absolutely amazing.

I arrived at 7 pm so it wasn’t possible to go inside however it’s so beautiful from the outside.

Lentos Kunstmuseum Linz is a contemporary art museum located on the banks of the Danube River. The museum's notable waterside building, illuminated at night, houses an extensive collection of modern and contemporary art. Visitors can explore works from the 19th century, including pieces by renowned artists such as Klimt, Schiele, and Kokoschka, as well as contemporary art positions like VALIE EXPORT.
Enjoyable & delightful, although one room was being refurbished, the size and position was perfect as I was on a cruise and time is limited on shore :) . If you are an art lover I recommend it! I was lucky to see some of Andy Warhol ( which I have last seen in New York 2013 ! nice to see Austrian artists like Johann Jaska, of course Richard Hamilton's I am dreaming of a black Xmas was a nice surprise . Thank you for the experience xxx

This spacious and modern museum by the river houses paintings by Egon Schiele, Keith Haring, and artists from Upper Austria among others. The permanent collection on the top floor is small and can be viewed in one hour. There were just a few visitors on a Friday afternoon so plenty of space for me to enjoy the artworks.
Mai N — Google review
We enjoyed this modern art gallery, a nice selection of modern pieces. And a few older pieces.
Jakki B — Google review
The Museum was good, the collections small and would not need more than an hour.

Families with children are not welcome here. Worst experience. Total Disrespect towards visitors with children. Grown women employee starts the conversation with aggression, just in the begininng of excurssion. Public yuck to employees, they should start by learning basic etiquette to start work in a place like this. My family have been to many museums around the world, this is the first time we have had such a terrible experience.
Z V — Google review
Great collections of arts, Andy Warhol, Keith haring, Klimt, Egon And many more! Most important they have a section of arts reminds us of nature, plastic waste, how human is harming the earth.
Kev C — Google review
This museum didn't impress me much. It's kind of modern art. But still not much to explore. I am an art lover and little bit artist. I didn't find it worth of money they charged. Included in Linz Pass. One gallery was not open to all. It requires pre booking. Couple of hours are enough to explore depending upon how much you love modern art.
Sham — Google review
Lazy curation. Such an underwhelming collection, completely as a step the outside of the building. Way too many male artist women are deeply under represented. I counted 40 works, before seeing one female artist. This is deeply lazy in 2025. We expect better from you Lentos

Nestled on a picturesque hilltop just a short drive from the heart of Linz, Verdi Restaurant & Einkehr is a culinary gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. This establishment is celebrated for its exquisite blend of modern regional and European cuisine, featuring standout dishes like the delectable Wiener schnitzel and innovative offerings such as Riesling sweetbreads.
I thought places like this no longer existed. A family run business where your experience is everything. From the moment you arrive , everything is 6 star service, Michelin quality food , superb environment. A spectacular treat 👌 if you are a foodie who expects the best , this is your place. We loved our experience.
Ty S — Google review
I recently dined at Verdi – Restaurant & Einkehr, perched on the leafy edge of Linz’s forested outskirts. Instantly, I was struck by the balance of modern elegance and rustic charm—reflected in rich woods, soft lighting, and a sense of calm that’s rare in upscale dining. I opted for their tasting menu, each dish a surprising yet harmonious blend of regional Austrian roots and international influence. Highlights included tuna with mango and miso, and braised veal cheeks in a Barolo-red-wine sauce—like Austria meeting Asia with grace and depth. The pacing felt thoughtful, designed to let each flavor bloom. The wine selection was outstanding, with service that was warm and knowledgeable—spot-on for pairing suggestions that elevated every course. Overall, Verdi delivers a refined, contemporary dining experience grounded in authenticity and soul. It’s where culinary ambition meets heartfelt hospitality—certainly a spot I’ll revisit to rediscover flavors and that tranquil evening vibe.

Nice place , beautiful. Dishes with a very good quality of ingredients and good look like. Prices medium high but the service is superb. Great service, great food and a perfect location with a view over the city. Definitely a place to come back to. Excellent choice. Friendly staff, beautiful interior design and... exquisite food. Stunning - a rising star! No Michelin star awarded yet but if it comes to the taste - can make it soon! I selected the "Spring time" menu and was blown away. Not many 1-2 Michelin star rated restaurants have been able to stun me the same way they did. Worth mentioning: Desert were there was "a piece of the forest", Lamb saddle with black olives and white asparragus combined together with harmony, and Artichoke tortelloni with superb earthy flavour with brown truffles, Black salsify and Almthaler char which resembled a smoky steak tartar. After a week or so, I still remember these dishes and their flavour palette. I sure hope to be able to visit them later!

This delightful spot collaborates with Moviemento cinema to host an enchanting film brunch where guests can savor delicious dishes while enjoying classic films or the latest blockbusters. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it perfect for both casual dining and pre-movie meals.
Loved this hidden gem!! Service was great and food was fantastic! I had the rigatoni for some carb replenishment after walking around such a beautiful city, and I would highly recommend it - and have it again. Good beer too. It’s not the easiest place to find from the main shopping street, through an archway, and you won’t see it until you’ve walked across the large square (to the left), then you need to go down some steps. This is a must visit!!

Amazing vegan food and service! Visiting from Australia and found this place following Trip Advisor/Google reviews. Being a Saturday night, they were nearly fully booked but seated us at the bar. The staff were absolutely motoring to serve everyone but still found time to generously attend to us and our German language deficiencies (and recommending us some top notch tap beers). They were also kind enough to reseat us at a table when it became free. The menu is so clearly laid out with vegetarian and vegan sections - and they even showed different allergy codes like soy and sulfur! The food was delicious - truly some of the best dedicated vegan I've had. Despite the very upmarket decor it was astoundingly well priced - 50€ for two beers, two mains, and two apéritifs. Fantastic experience, highly recommend!

Travelling alone I was nicely surprised they invited me to eat at the counter instead of waiting for a free table, and as a vegetarian I could choose from half the menu, staff was very nice. Had laibchen vom grill, but with red cabbage since they ran out of celery-garlic sauce, not quite the same, and the salad was sour and craved for a decent sauce. So muh, should've been much better for this price.

You need reservations! Very busy place and I see why. The food was amazing. Really wanted the vegetarian lasagna but they changed the menu. The dish I had was sort of a spinach cheese loaf with salad. It truly was delicious. 🤤 I’m sampling the New York cheese cake and it is good as well. 2 small suggestions. Get one menu that is in English. Make sure to have disposable utensils for take out. Thanks again will recommend to my daughter’s company. Oh ya you have to go down some steps. GPS had me stop in front of another restaurant. Just keep walking until you see the rainbow stairs and walk down.

NOT RECOMMENDED. Nice that they have vegan options but it’ll ruin your tastebuds. Got the oysters mushrooms dish. There was only 3 pieces of mushrooms and EXTREMELY salty. Their idea of “Asian dish” is to spash lots of soy sauce. Staff were ok, they do their job and ask how was the food but went away as soon as the sentance escape their lips. 😅

Had a nice dinner at the Gelbes Krokodil in our stay at Linz. We didn't have a reservation but they were so accommodating to arrange a table for us. Staff was very friendly and food was delicious. Had a dessert as well and that was the highlight of the dinner. Definitely recommend to anyone.

Had lunch at this restaurant and ordered the beef plate. I was disappointed with the portion as there were very few beef strips on the plate (not even 100g of meat!) and the rest of the plate was filled with little amount of vegetables and a lot of rice! For the price they charge, they could be more generous with the meat serving!

We had a fantastic dining experience! This restaurant is an excellent choice for dinner and drinks. The staff were incredibly polite and professional, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. All the dishes were not only delicious but also generously portioned. I highly recommend this spot for a delightful evening out.
Clio P — Google review
Very elegantly and luxuriously furnished restaurant, especially the view of the Mariendom from the windows is majestic. The food was visually attractive served, good taste. Wagyu flank for 41 Euro was not a good choice. The steak came already covered with a sauce and was not medium rare, as I wanted it, rather medium and because it was served sliced, it cooled down very quickly. It was also not optimal that the steak was mixed with a mixture of roasted bacon, onion rings and pimentos, for a total of 12 Euro. Instead of the ordered fries with chilli mayo, I got fried potato chips with ketchup. After the complaint, I got chili mayo. As for the standard filet steak, that was the better choice. And at a better price. Moreover, the olives in the appetizer were not optimal - the guest has nowhere to put the pits and to eat the olives must either use a fork for the main course or eat with bare hands. On the positive note, I would highlight the beers on offer, the Kristall Schlägl on tap and Pauls Bier in the bottle were very good. As well as the wine. The service was fast and attentive, but a bit measured, and as for the friendly approach, the waiter did the minimum necessary, but did not give the impression that he enjoys serving guests in the restaurant. Overall, it was an average gastronomic experience at high prices, but in a very charming environment. I recommend a visit.
Lubomir K — Google review
This was a pretty weird experience! Not in a good way as well… we came in because we read such wonderful reviews but the reality was that the service was one of the worst I’ve ever experienced, the surprise menu started interesting but then proved that they are trying to just make money, the steak served as part of the 60€ meal was less than 100 grams, the worst part was that we had to wait during the three course menu for an astonishing 2.5 hours and after about 2 hours when I first asked (politely and in German) if we’re ever gonna get the dessert, the response from the staff was rude and loud… can’t stress it enough Don’t waste your money and time here if your visiting Linz

The burger was fantastic as were all the side dishes. The fresh bread with the dips is very morish! Friendly staff. Will come back here if I return to Linz!

First. The presentation of the food, the restaurant interior and the service was excellent. The location next to the cathedral is top. Clean restrooms and also a nice area to sit outside. It was my first visit here and the expectations were very high, especially when ordering a €70 steak (without sides). My friends had a "standard" filet steak but both types were not prepared as ordered. The time on the grill was slightly too long which resulted in imperfect results. My steak had additionally a slightly different smell and aftertaste like I am used to. I know a good steak from around the world because of my business travels, but this one was slightly different for my taste. At the time it was ok for us because we were hungry and we finished our meal anyways. We told the waiter what we didn't like so that it doesn't happen again. Just for this first experience I would not try it again. My friends were pretty much happy with their steaks though.
Frederik L — Google review
One of the best diners we ever had! I ordered the Wagyu burger which was a bit spicy but amazing and so soft and flavourful! We also got the Ribeye steak which was a bit raw but overall very good and juicy, especially with these potatoes with onions. I definitely recommend going here, even if it is a bit more expensive than the other places!

Nestled in the heart of Linz, "Die Bohne - Unser Cafe" is a delightful spot that redefines breakfast culture. Formerly the Altwiener Cafe Bruckmuller, this charming café embraces the philosophy that life is too short for mediocre coffee. With an impressive array of breakfast options ranging from hearty house specials to lighter fare like Birchermüsli and Berry-Porridge, there's something to satisfy every palate.
I've been here two times and I guess will come more often. A unique Café in this area with friendly personel, fast service, delicious and creative dishes as well as fresh cakes. As soon as we took the seat, they served us bottle of free tap water, which is very welcoming in my opinion.

I liked it, but there are better places. The inside is nicely decorated, and it looks nicer than the outside, where there are a few crowded tables on the sidewalk. The location is not exactly spectacular, either. It's just not my type of neighborhood. It took a while until our food arrived. Too long of a while for breakfast if you ask me. I was not impressed by the selection. Also, there is no fresh juice option. It's okay. Nothing went tremendously wrong, but I don't see myself visiting soon.

Very special place in Linz, especially for breakfast. I was coming to have this gourmet food experience, and I got it. But my husband not really. And there is one suggestion. You really have very nice dishes, and a great offer. But first of all, there is no English menu, and the waktors speaking English but couldn't care very much what we want, rather just please order what we have. We even open your official website , there was an English menu but it was not actual, and you were not up to that. It is really cool to have a pictures in your menu, because it really looks and tastes fantastic, and the client wants to be sure what we order, not only from theist of ingredients you have in menu. As a tip for other tourist, at least you can find a pictures of food at Instagram of other people and point out. That's how I did. The eggs Benedict with avocado are just a tasty bomb!

We’ve found this place online and had one night in Linz. I would NOT recommend this place. We did not have a reservation, they made us sit at the bar and eat there, while the restaurant was at most 30% full (which is not surprising). Atmosphere is nothing special or noteworthy. Service is below average even with low standards for service in Austria in general. The worst was food, I got the pork schnitzel and it was uneatable in terms of all metrics; taste, texture and smell. Overall bad experience.

Greek restaurant
Nestled in a historic building that dates back to the early 15th century, Zum kleinen Griechen is a charming restaurant that has been delighting diners for over three decades. Originally serving as stables, much of the original architecture remains intact, adding character to this cozy eatery. The menu features an array of delectable dishes, including salmon paired with fresh local vegetables and steak enriched with parsley and cream.
A culinary delight in a cozy setting. When you first open the hidden doors of this little gem, you won't find the high-end modern decor of your average award-winning restaurant. You will find authentic interior that doesn't brag but makes you feel welcome and comfortable right away. Given the tiny size, the owner will serve you personally and recommend his catches of the day. Needless to say, fish is what makes this place stand out. Wine offering is also superb and desserts don't disappoint either. It's a fine place and has its price, but so worth it for a treat!

We had a great evening at the restaurant. Since the waiter "got us" right away, instead of ordering ourselves, we asked him to choose for us - and we enjoyed an excellent fish dish with white wine, a selection of homemade starters and a wonderful dessert. He is a real professional. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a special homely atmosphere and I hope to return to it on my next visit!

Great food, relaxing environment and friendly staffs. It's a rather small restaurant, so I recommend calling for a reservation in advance if you don't want to be disappointed at the door. It's pricey around 50€ per head with a drink, scallop and a main, but delicated food, fresh and good seasonings. I totally recommend it, it's not for everyday tho. For a date?a promotion?Birthsay or anniversary? It's definitely the right place to treat yourself or someone special a good seafood meal.

This place is a definite must for both locals and tourists. P.S. The melon cocktail is something else
Kateryna ( — Google review
The food was very good but the prices are completely out of range and I didn’t like the attitude of the waiter. I also felt that he tried to take money from us from every corner. We asked to share an appetiser by three and got three portions instead, asked for a glass of wine each and were left with a (expensive) bottle, every refill of the bread basket costed 6 euro (not written in the menu). Seeing three foreigners at the table the guy did not even attempt to speak English and kept on speaking with the only person who understood German. The place is extremely small and that makes it cozy but also means you bump into your neighbour and have no privacy in your conversation. The cook did not come out of the kitchen at the end of the night and just disappeared from a back door. All in all, the atmosphere of a mediocre restaurant, with good food and crazy prices. I’m fine with spending 100 euros on food but I can do it otherwise. I will not return again and wouldn’t recommend it too. If you ask this kind of prices you should elevate your game as well

Good restaurant but definitely overpriced. It has got nothing to do with the traditional greek restaurants, it's just called greek. Appetisers and drinks are being pushed in your ordering. Before accepting the waiter's offers consult the menu.

In addition to its fascinating menu with creative starters, Rossbarth is known for its outstanding service and perfect wine pairings.

One of the best diners I've been to so far. Its usually difficult to find a place that serves perfect 3 course meal where all the courses are actually outstanding let alone 5 which is near impossible!! This place however managed to deliver on all 5 courses and each one of them was just a pile of Yumm!! Incredibly delicious. The only negative thing i have to say about the place is the urine smell as u enter the door however after sometime u get used to it. And we also informed the employees there about this comment and they seemed to take it really serious into account. In general, food was outstanding and service was amazing!! which is also rare in Austria that u get super friendly service like other parts of the world (u will know if u r a frequent traveler).. i must say all in all i would definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys having soul touching food ☺️

At Muto Restaurant, they intentionally discard outdated and rigid rules to create a unique dining experience that focuses on the purity and quality of the ingredients. The kitchen is filled with culinary wizards who skillfully transform traditional dishes into surprising, daring, and sometimes even whimsical creations.
As with the past few years living in Prague and going fancy with the places Ive chose to dine at, I grew to appreciate a delicious, yet simple bread paired with a organic dairy produce rather than high end tiny artisian meals, I cannot objectively rate the mastering of it in Muto, so I stay aside and give 4 stars for the amazing steak we had and super nice amuse bouche. I just would like to highlight the quality of the service itself we had been fortunate to get from the owner itself during our dinner time. Thank you so much for your generosity and warmth!!!! We agreed not to remember such a place when it comes to this, and especially when three seemingly unfancy countryside people come to a well rewarded restaurant.

I visited several months ago and unfortunately did not like it, Making foams and cubes of things is not enough to be a fine dining restaurant. The creativeness just did not deliver for me. Also the restaurant is small, tables are very close to each other and has in general a bad acoustics, it gets loud very quickly inside. Not the good atmosphere for a quite fine dining meal. The evening that I went there was quite bad air circulation too, hopefully just a thing of that evening. I cannot say that I spent a bad evening but in my opinion this place leaves many things to be desired
Caterina K — Google review
I had a creative dinner at Muto, nestled in Linz’s Altstadt. Descending into their bright vaulted dining room, I was immediately struck by the modern minimalism, airy lighting, and friendly tone of the setting. I opted for the five-course seasonal menu, and each dish delighted—think delicate yellowfin tuna sashimi in a tangy ginger-kefir broth, and an elegant venison saddle paired with gremolata and Chinese artichoke. The flavors were bold yet balanced, and vegetarian versions were artfully crafted. The service impressed me most—gracious and insightful, especially when explaining wine pairings from their thoughtfully curated natural wine list. If you're in Linz and appreciate refined, inventive dishes served in a relaxed, stylish space, Muto is a highlight worth experiencing. A clear standout in creativity and ambiance.

I'd heard great things and was excited to try muto. The overall experience was nice (took circa 3 hrs) but unfortunately, the menu was perhaps a bit too experimental for my taste. The host was friendly and regularly checked in, as well as offered nice wine recommendations. Final note: oddly the bathrooms were rather unclean and rather poorly looked after, felt rather like the bathroom at a bachelor pad than a fine dining establishment.

This was a highlight of our trip to Linz. Fabulous meal from start to end, we loved the "do it yourself" gin and tonics and were both impressed and amused by the clever culinary creations. The restaurant is very charming. It’s nice to have dinner in such an atmosphere before a theater performance. However, the prices are clearly inflated. The price-quality ratio is unsatisfactory. The tartare is 4/5. The cheesecake is 3/5 – it’s more like a soufflé than a cheesecake. The coffee is tasty. And the view of the park is lovely.

Surprisingly Smooth Experience at Linz Airport (with a Few Drawbacks) Linz Airport is definitely one of the smallest airports I’ve ever flown through, but overall, the experience was pretty smooth. The airport is very clean, including the toilets and baby changing areas, which is always a plus. Staff, especially the luggage handlers, were super friendly and helpful, and the security process was quick – we were through in no time. There’s a small duty-free section that’s decent considering the size of the airport, and the bar stays open quite late, serving pastries, sandwiches, beers and other drinks. There’s also a children’s play area which is great if you’re travelling with kids, and there’s more seating than you’d expect for such a small space. Parking and drop-offs are also really easy. That said, there are definitely a few downsides. The airport is tiny, so if you’re expecting lots of food or shopping options, you’ll be disappointed. The snack selection is limited, and they don’t have many souvenirs or gifts on offer. One thing that really stood out was the price of water - the average price of water is €2.20, but this is unrefrigerated; and they charge you over €3 for it to be cold, which I think is ridiculous. Our flight with Ryanair was also delayed by over an hour, which didn’t help the overall impression. And if you don’t have a car, getting to the airport can be a bit difficult. All in all, Linz Airport is clean, friendly and efficient, but very basic. Fine for a short trip, just don’t arrive hungry or expect too much in terms of extras.
Alex C — Google review
Feels like one big private airport... Though does help that there were only 26 pax on my turbo prop flight and no other flights for hours so maybe more staff than pax, info, check in, security, baggage etc etc. very enjoyable
Nige E — Google review
Check-in, immigration, and baggage handling were very quick. All staff, including the police and customs, were very friendly. Everything was punctual and efficient. A great experience. The airport shares its runway with the adjacent Austrian Armed Forces barracks; with a bit of luck, you might spot military transport aircraft, for example. As a passenger, it's a fantastic experience, as everything is much more relaxed and faster than at other major airports. The only downside: The airport is only accessible by public transport, either bus or shuttle. Otherwise, everything was first-class.
Luke T — Google review
Extremely poor security control at Linz Airport. Despite multiple complaints, nothing has improved. Today, the security took over 10 minutes for just five passengers—completely inefficient and unacceptable. I travel frequently and have never seen such slow procedures anywhere else. also on the return flight they made everyone get into buses to go literally 150 m to the arrivals wherever I normally Walks to, For some unknown reason and then the bus has a defect one of the doors doesn’t close so they get everyone to get out the bus and then walk anyways. This is possibly the most stupid airport I know
Toby C — Google review
Linz Airport is very small but perfectly functional. It’s spotless, easy to navigate, and has everything you actually need — a coffee shop, vending machines, and plenty of space to sit or move around. For its size, it’s impressively efficient and well-kept.

Great local airport. Long stay parking is only a short walk, never busy, quiet and convenient for office work prior to flight, friendly staff, good cafe, very short walk to gate and nearly the same to the plane itself! What’s not to like? Fantastic.

Not really amazing. Small airport which mostly goes to Vienna or Frankfurt but mostly Cargo load. Its not too big with not even jet bridge support so you have to get down by stairs and then walk to the airport but if your lucky then you will get a bus.

The airport features a modern terminal and offers various transportation options for travelers. It was formerly a military airport with interesting views of military hangars and has been repurposed into a historic site with remnants of the Czechoslovak Air Force.
Small and practical airport, rarely crowded. Amazing staff, super helpful and polite.

Took a GA flight into LKCS. This airport is in essence inactive - with a small staff on hand. It does handle holiday charter flights which probably stress the system during turnaround. Otherwise nothing - not even a drink. Add to that the exit from the airport to the main road to Ceske Budejovice (there is no such exit). In many ways a great initiative to bolster Ceske Budejovice business but badly thought out.

Very interesting and historic place. This is a defunct Air base of the Czechoslovak Air Force. Since the fall of the iron curtain, pretty much nothing changed. A weird collection of bunkers, fighter hangars and myriads of taxiways. Great photo spot. Don’t expect any actual flight operations here - beside the occasional hobby flyer.

(Translated by Google) I visited as part of the blue sky event organized by the Czech Armed Forces and I must say that I really liked it here. Good accessibility, close to the highway. Lots of parking spaces, shuttle service, everything looks well maintained. Maybe I'll try it out as a passenger somewhere to the sea.
